Preferred Solution: window 8.1 hp notebook pavillion error codes and frequent restarts automatically

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/directdownload.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hello,

I?ve been getting BSOD since a month ago. Memtest reported no errors during a 13 hours test. System check says both my HDDs are ok. I haven?t installed anything lately.

Most crashes concentrate after restarting. I can get 3-4 bsod and then start normally. I?ve always been able to start in Safe mode without any problem.

My system specs:
Windows 7 x64 retail
Hardware is less than one year old (i7 930, Asus P6T Deluxe V2, 6gb RAM kingston DDR3 1333, Sapphire Radeon 5850 Vapor X, 2x640Gb Caviar Black Western Digital SATA II)
No overclocking.

Any help appreciated. I?m thinking about reinstalling Win 7 but would like to know if there?s an specific problem with my soft/hard before doing so.

Several problems
1-ASACPI.SYS a major cause of BSOD's in the 2005 rev.

ASACPI.sys Sun Mar 27 22:30:36 2005

Quote:
The 2005 version of this driver is a known BSOD cause.
Please visit this link: ASUSTeK Computer Inc.-Support- download_item_mkt
Scroll down to the Utilities category, then scroll down to the "ATK0110 driver for WindowsXP/Vista/Windows 7 32&64-bit " (it's about the 8th item down).
Download and install it.
Go to C:\Windows\System32\drivers to check and make sure that the ASACPI.sys file is date stamped from 2009 or 2010 (NOT 2005).

2-SPTD.SYS the second biggest cause used by daemon tools and alcohol120

Please remove any CD virtualization programs such as Daemon Tools and Alcohol 120%. They use a driver, found in your dmp, sptd.sys, that is notorious for causing BSODs. Use this SPTD uninstaller when you're done: DuplexSecure - Downloads

Hello I've been suffering more or less frequent BSODs for a while They usually come when I'm playing something ranging from Orcs Must Die to Fallout Most often they appear when I'm on Skype chatting with people while playing Magicka or League of Legends These BSODs are often accompanied with loud quot buzzing quot sound which disappears only after the computer reboots itself There have been many kinds of files which seem to be the cause different error a on of codes Frequent number BSODs behind the crash such as win k sys dxgmms sys nvlddmkm sys usbohci sys and so on but I don't know what to do about them I've updated my GFX chipset and soundboard I think it's integrated drivers and flashed the BIOS I've also reinstalled the OS once few months ago I guess I've checked RAM with memtest turned out fine same with hard drives I haven't monitored computer temps very closely but I have removed the side of the case so the air should be flowing freely The crashes are also quite random sometimes I get a full day of BSOD-free LoL-goodness sometimes I can't even start one match so I guess temp shouldn't be the main issue although I wouldn't be asking if I knew for myself n any case I also have RivaTuner installed I have Windows -bit My computer is kind of old Nvidia GTX gb RAM Frequent BSODs on a number of different error codes AMD Phenom II x no OC Dump files follow Please quot fix quot my computer I've just bought tons of holiday-sale games Frequent BSODs on a number of different error codes from Steam

Hi there I'm really hoping that someone will be able to help with my ongoing BSOD issues - I'm almost at my wits end trying to pinpoint the cause I seem to have been experiencing infrequent BSODs for months now perhaps BSOD every few weeks then the PC would be stable always on for weeks if not months but in the last few weeks they've increased massively Multiple/Frequent Different BSODs - reported codes error in frequency to multiple times per day and mostly persist within a Multiple/Frequent BSODs - Different error codes reported few minutes of restarting logging in although today one occurred even before the Windows login screen appeared After multiple attempts the system usually stablises and will remain functional for hours to days but then I'll come to log in again and the system has rebooted after suffering another BSOD while I was away from home I'm running Windows Pro i - Ghz not overclocked with GB RAM Using Bluescreen View most of the crashes report ntoskrnl exe a but more recently I'm seeing various errors drivers reported including ntoskrnl exe a ACPI sys bce a cmdguard sys f cmdguard sys c ACPI sys videoprt sys cmdguard sys win k sys And errors such as Driver Page Fault in Freed Special Pool System Service Exception Special Pool Detected Memory Corruption K Mode Exception Not Handled IRQL Not Less or Equal I've updated my system drivers removed Comodo which I read elsewhere could be causing issues run and re-run CCleaner Malwarebytes and AVG no issues reported by the latter two I've run Memtest on the pair of RAM sticks and no issues reported there either I do have an issue with one of the internal x TB Samsung HDDs that I use for data storage which is failing the SDST and Long Generic Seagate Drive Tools tests so I'll swap that out as soon as I get chance I'm living in Kuwait and finding parts isn't quite as easy as it was back home in the UK Booting in Safe Mode as you'd expect seems to eliminate the issue and the system runs stable I've also been experiencing a couple of other problems including certain networked devices HP Microserver Windows Media PC disappearing from the visible network in this Win Pro build The machines are still there and I can connect to them by IP but this problem machine doesn't seem to recognise that they're there automatically Not sure if that could be related to the BSOD issues but thought it would be worth mentioning I've posted my DM Log Collector files I foolishly cleaned a bulk of files when I ran CCleaner earlier today but I've also posted the DM Log files from a session in Safe Mode which appears to have collected more Mini Dump files Not sure how relevant they are but just in case they're helpful Any help in identifying the root cause or any further advice to help narrow down the offending hardware driver would be greatly appreciated Please just let me know if I need to confirm any further details Thanks in advance Brian

I've done several MemTests (both slots, single slot, different RAM in each slot) and no errors have come up. I've tried to the best of my ability to update my drivers but I may have missed something. Also, the bugchecks are not consistent (1e, 7e, 3b, ect) although 1e and 3b are the most frequent.

I'm feeling rather desperate at the moment and am considering buying a new MoBo.

18 of 24 crashes were caused by a memory exception. AVG can also cause BSOD's especially of this type. How many passes did you run on memtest?
I would do these three things
If you are overclocking anything reset to default before running these tests.
In other words STOP!!!
1-Memtest.

Quote:
*Download a copy of Memtest86 and burn the ISO to a CD using Iso Recorder or another ISO burning program. Memtest86+ - Advanced Memory Diagnostic Tool

*Boot from the CD, and leave it running for at least 5 or 6 passes.

Just remember, any time Memtest reports errors, it can be either bad RAM or a bad motherboard slot.

Test the sticks individually, and if you find a good one, test it in all slots.

Any errors are indicative of a memory problem.

If a known good stick fails in a motherboard slot it is probably the slot.

RAM - Test with Memtest86+

2-Driver verifier

Quote:
I'd suggest that you first backup your data and then make sure you've got access to another computer so you can contact us if problems arise. Then make a System Restore point (so you can restore the system using the Vista/Win7 Startup Repair feature).

In Windows 7 you can make a Startup Repair disk by going to Start....All Programs...Maintenance...Create a System Repair Disc - with Windows Vista you'll have to use your installation disk or the "Repair your computer" option at the top of the Safe Mode menu .

Then, here's the procedure:
- Go to Start and type in "verifier" (without the quotes) and press Enter
- Select "Create custom settings (for code developers)" and click "Next"
- Select "Select individual settings from a full list" and click "Next"
- Select everything EXCEPT FOR "Low Resource Simulation" and click "Next"
- Select "Select driver names from a list" and click "Next"
Then select all drivers NOT provided by Microsoft and click "Next"
- Select "Finish" on the next page.

Reboot the system and wait for it to crash to the Blue Screen. Continue to use your system normally, and if you know what causes the crash, do that repeatedly. The objective here is to get the system to crash because Driver Verifier is stressing the drivers out. If it doesn't crash for you, then let it run for at least 36 hours of continuous operation (an estimate on my part).

If you can't get into Windows because it crashes too soon, try it in Safe Mode.
If you can't get into Safe Mode, try using System Restore from your installation DVD to set the system back to the previous restore point that you created.

I have Windows 7 Compaq with AMD II, Recently interchanged Zotac Video card(ZT-20303) working well from other computer and also loaded ADOBE Photo shop(2 weeks back).

Notron security system installed since 1 year

BSOD started 2 days after video card installation
= to solve BSOD- action taken so far
- Updated NVidia drivers to latest
- Removed printer driver as reported by Norton tools(problem reported)
- Ran Compaq PC doctor- no issues on any counts
- Ran Notron tools- no issues
- stays on for 12 hours without issues, but then stops with BSOD and reboots
- Previously same PC used to be on for weeks/months without any issue
- I have also checked that Full Scan (Norton) running in background, but never gets completed and may be the reason

A:BSOD frequent- Error codes x3B,7E,1E,0a,24 changing alternately

I'm not able to understand well your statement regarding the video card. Are you mentioning that the card was ok on a previous computer but when installed in this computer the PC has been bugging out? Have you switched it back to the previous computer to see if things remain stable on that computer as well, and if the victim PC stabilizes without the video card?

Just so you are aware, Compaq - as well as many OEM PCs - are designed with very cheap components and usually only enough to keep a system stable for a minimum amount of time with the default configuration. This is especially true with their PSUs (power supplies), which usually are designed only to handle default configuration and - like any PSU - will degrade in wattage output with age. There is a very, very good possibility your new video card is overtaxing this system's power supply beyond its capacity.

Other than that, I cannot explain about this any further beyond what's currently available from the data. I can say that the erratic pattern, as well as other signs such as missing bits in CPU registers, all point to hardware failure of some level. One cannot really deduce what exact hardware is responsible from crashdumps, but there are hardware tests that can help. I recommend you do the card swap first to see what happens when this PC runs without the new card before going for tests. If the card itself goes great on one PC but it causes another PC to go unstable, than I have to point blame at an insufficient (or bad) power supply.

I ve been plagued by chronic and unpredictable BSODs since day one of using my Toshiba Satellite P -A I ve found and tried countless solutions none have worked Apologies for the length of the case history below but I d rather explain as much as I can to avoid confusion later The lappy came with Windows when I first bought it online mint condition I immediately swapped codes months BSODs new random for laptop, & on various error Frequent for Windows then ran SlimDrivers and Windows Update until no new updates were found Laptop is kept on automatic updates For privacy security reasons the Windows partition is encrypted with TrueCrypt Plenty of others have done the same without issue so I doubt that s the problem Almost at once the computer began to BSOD on occasion and has continued ever since despite numerous updates since The crashes occur at random at least once every hours of continued operation or so though often sooner The error codes listed vary and have included Frequent & random BSODs for months on new laptop, various error codes from memory DRIVER IRQL NOT LESS OR EQUAL and MEMORY MANAGEMENT Frequent & random BSODs for months on new laptop, various error codes Use of Driver Verifier enabling all checks on all drivers results in near-instant BSODs during start-up A device attempting to corrupt the system has been caught The faulty driver currently on the kernel stack must be replaced error code x c I had to disable Driver Verifier in Safe Mode to get it to stop crashing the system before it could finish loading Online research led me to believe the variety and nature of the error codes might indicate a memory issue A PC repair shop ran extensive hardware tests for a couple days including MemTest and gave my machine a clean bill of health all but guaranteeing the problem is with the software Also I just had another BSOD IRQL NOT LESS OR EQUAL and had to retype all of this Fun Last time it cost me a month s worth of work due to data corruption That was oodles of fun So far I m unable to pinpoint any specific program s or configuration s that may be causing all this I m officially out of ideas I m no expert so please point out anything I may have missed no matter how obvious Attached is the DM Log Collector zip as recommended I would attach the latest memory dump but it s MB Growing desperate for answers so thanks in advance for any help

A:Frequent & random BSODs for months on new laptop, various error codes

Welcome to SF .

No dump files are present in the folder, you can manually check the minidump folder.

Code:
C:\Windows\minidump
If dump files are present in that folder copy them to the Desktop, zip and upload in your next post.

Hello guys,

I've been getting BSODs for a while now. Most of the time it's while I'm playing League of Legends. I get a BSOD and sometimes I just get a random restart. But just now I had a BSOD while I was browsing the web, it was a different error code then I usually have!

I hope it's just some driver error.

I'll attach the stuff required in a BSOD post.

Is Windows 7 . . .
- x86 (32-bit) or x64 ? x64
- the original installed OS on the system? Windows 7 Home Premium
- an OEM or full retail version? OEM
- What is the age of system (hardware)? I think it's 1.5 years old now.
- What is the age of OS installation? I recently reinstalled it (about 3 months ago...)

All of the crashes from when you updated to SP-1 were caused by memory corruption

These were caused by a memory exception. Please run these two tests to verify your memory and find which driver is causing the problem.
1-Memtest.

Hello, My windows 8 computer keeps on restarting many times without much gap, and inturn it leaves me a error code before it restarts, and the error code is 0x0000005D. For the first time in a day, the computer works properly for an hour or less, then it restarts continuously by showing that error message. Am unable to fix this because my computer won't stay for a longer time to check out the issue, I have less than a hour to check and solve the problem, so if you know a solution to fix this kind of errors, then please let me know. Thank you.

A:frequent BSODS, over 5 gb of dump and windows error files, system restarts

You need to...complete the topic at http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/t/487434/getting-reinfected-again-and-again/page-2#entry3000528 before opening any other topics involving this same system.

As long as that malware topic is open, this topic and any others that you might start...will be closed.

Once the possibility of malware has been removed from your system situation...you can then move on to seeming issues that have nothing to do with malware.

I suggest that you send a PM to your Helper in the malware forrum...and verify that you have no malware issues and request that he thus close your MRL topic.  Then, I will reopen this topic.

This topic is now closed.

hi gurus,
i own an old computer, p4 2.4ghz on an intel gbf865 with nvidia fx5200, it is running win 7 ultimate.
although the os runs pretty smooth with aero effects and all. and plays 720p movies with out stuttering the only problem it has is that it restarts automatically .
i have had this problem for a while now.
earlier BSOD pointed audio driver error so i removed it and am using USB audiocard. it works fine
the event viewer shows error 41 kernal power error, bugcheckcode 0 and other codes as 0x0
i wanted to ask could this be because of SMPS/psu although it says 400watts but its locally built and so could be erronous.

A:comp restarts automatically, kernal power error 41

Hello vishrocks and welcome to Seven Forums. You might find this Microsoft KB article helpful:

Quote:
The system randomly restarts and no Stop error BugcheckCode is listed, or the computer is completely unresponsive (hard hang)
To check whether this scenario is occurring, press the CAPS LOCK key on the keyboard. When you do this, if the CAPS LOCK light on the keyboard does not change when you press the CAPS LOCK key, the computer may be completely unresponsive (hard hang).

This scenario usually indicates a problem with the hardware. Another possibility is that a driver may cause this problem. To help isolate the problem, check the following items:Overclocking: Disable overclocking and see whether the issue happens when the system is run at the correct speed.
Check the memory: Verify the memory by using a memory checker. Verify that each memory chip is the same speed and that it is configured correctly in the system.
Power Supply: Make sure that the power supply has enough wattage to appropriately handle the installed devices. If you added memory, installed a newer processor, installed additional drives, or added external devices, such devices may require more energy than the current power supply can provide consistently.
Overheating: Check whether the system is overheating by examining the internal temperature of the hardware.
Defaults: Use system defaults, and run the system.
If you see that the computer generates a Stop error that contains a BugcheckCode value that is not reported in an event ID 41, modify the restart behavior for the computer. To do this, follow these steps:Right-click My Computer, and then click Properties.
Click Advanced system settings.
Click the Advanced tab.
In the Startup and Recovery section, click Settings.
Click to clear the Automatically restart check box.

Hello there,
I am facing boot up problem with my computer. Since last week I am having a hard time to start my computer. Now it is usual that the screen shows 'Preparing Automatic Repairs' for about 15-20 minutes but nothing happens and then I need to power off my system. After 2-3 attempts, if I am lucky, my computer gets on and after sometime it shows error message as I have attached with this thread. It shows different errors, the last time ( a few minutes back, it showed CRITICAL_STRUCTURE_CORRUPTION.
Please help me in this regard.
PS: I have checked my computer for any pirated software and I think there are none, but still if you get anything on any log report please let me know and how to remove those because I am not an expert to find if there's such software, I hope you understand.
Thanks in advance for the support

How To Find Drivers:

Quote:
- search Google for the name of the driver
- compare the Google results with what's installed on your system to figure out which device/program it belongs to
- visit the web site of the manufacturer of the hardware/program to get the latest drivers (DON'T use Windows Update or the Update driver function of Device Manager).
- if there are difficulties in locating them, post back with questions and someone will try and help you locate the appropriate program.

Hey guys
I've been suffering a lot of BSoDs on my PC recently (as stated above, it's a HP Pavillion p6565uk) and I can't for the life of me work out why. I've opened it up and cleaned up the dust, I've not installed any new hardware or software so I'm assuming it's a hardware error but I don't know how (or if) I can work out what is broken. I've attached the last 4 minidump files, if anyone could point me in the right direction I'd seriously appreciate it.

Cheers
John

What version of Windows is this running? What are you doing when the BSOD's are most likely to happen? The minidumps may be pointing to memory issues. Test the memory with Memtest86:

A:[SOLVED] Increasingly frequent BSODs, various codes

Hi,

SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION (3b)

This indicates that an exception happened while executing a routine that transitions from non-privileged code to privileged code.

This error has been linked to excessive paged pool usage and may occur due to user-mode graphics drivers crossing over and passing bad data to the kernel code.

Code:

0: kd> ln fffff88013f8096c
(fffff880`13f80940) dxgmms1!VidMmDestroyAllocation+0x2c | (fffff880`13f809bc) dxgmms1!VidMmOpenAllocation
The exception occurred in dxgmms1!VidMmDestroyAllocation+0x2c. This is the DirectX MMS, specifically the video memory manager destroying allocations.

--------------------------------

1. AODDriver2.sys is listed and loaded in your modules list which is AMD Overdrive; also in EasyTune6 for Gigabyte motherboard. Known BSOD issues in Win7 & 8.

Please uninstall either software ASAP! If you cannot find either software to uninstall, or it's not installed, please navigate to the following filepath:

C:\Program Files\ATI Technologies\ATI.ACE\Fuel\amd64\AODDriver2.sys and rename AODDriver2.sys to AODDriver.2old and then Restart.

2. AppleCharger.sys is listed and loaded which is the GIGABYTE On/Off Charge driver. See here for details - GIGABYTE ON/OFF Charge

Very troublesome software, so please uninstall ASAP!

3. Remove and replace avast! with Microsoft Security Essentials for temporary troubleshooting purposes as it's very likely causing conflicts:

avast! removal - avast! Uninstall Utility | Download aswClear for avast! Removal

MSE - Microsoft Security Essentials - Microsoft Windows

4. Ensure you have the latest video card drivers. If you are already on the latest video card drivers, uninstall and install a version or a few versions behind the latest to ensure it's not a latest driver only issue. If you have already experimented with the latest video card driver and many previous versions, please give the beta driver for your card a try.

5. I see various Gigabyte bloatware installed, such as Easy Saver. These are unnecessary bloatware and I would uninstall all Gigabyte software ASAP.

I have an HP Pavillion g6-1c60ca that came with Win 7 Home Premium x64, and was recently upgraded to Win 10 x64. Everything seems to be working alright with the exception of sleep mode. Whenever the machine is put to sleep, when it's woken up it goes back to whichever screen it was on when it was put to sleep, but it's frozen. It will sit there for about 7-10 seconds, then it goes to the Windows error screen stating "Windows has encountered an error and needs to be restarted..." then reboots. I've tried playing around with all the sleep/hibernate settings, but nothing seems to make a difference. Has anybody ever come across this?

A:Hp Pavillion G6 Restarts After Sleep

HI Jools

No so far on a few PCs I have upgraded or clean installed W10 too, but Sleep is always problematic and depends on drivers and if the origianl PC is W10 100% compliant, if sort of you may see issues like this but can try the below to see if these fix the issue.

A:HP Pavillion 15 Notebook PC-e061so

Hi: Run this free hardware analyzer that I have zipped up and attached below. Run the file, close the summary window and on the left side of the window, click to expand the Drives section. Then click to expand the sata/atapi drives section. Click on your hard drive name listed there.  The first line will be the Drive Controller spec. It will report the hard drive type running at a certain speed. For example Serial ATA 6 Gb/s @ 6 Gb/s. If your notebook only has a SATA II port, it might report Serial ATA 6 Gb/s @ 3 Gb/s, or Serial ATA 3 Gb/s  @  3 Gb/s.

Hello,I was recently given a pavillion dv9821ea laptop which was in bad shape after being infected with a virus. I eventually had to replace the hard drive and at the same time I upgraded the operating system to windows 7 PRO 64bit. I was unable to save nothing from the origonal hard drive, no drivers, HP software etc and since I installed Windows 7, the laptop seems to have several problems including not downloading Windows updates. I connect it to the HP assistant, but this recognises the laptop and only gives me the choice of Windows Vista as the operating system for which to support drivers etc. I wonder if you could help me by letting me know if there is anywhere I can download Windows 7 pro 64bit drivers for this laptop? my wife and I are both disabled and it would make a great difference to me if I could have full use of this laptop. Regards. Gerald

A:Drivers for Pavillion dv9821ea entertainment notebook

Hi, Gerald: HP did not support that model for W7, and you should be able to use the Vista drivers from the dv9821ea support page except the BIOS and firmware files. Additionally, you can read this helpful dv9000 W7 upgrade guide for some tips on getting W7 to work just fine on that model. http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Operating-System-and-Recovery/Windows-7-Upgrade-Guide-for-dv60...

Hello Gurus,

I am having problem installing Windows 7 on this laptop HP Pavillion dv7-3007sg.
This PC comes with a German language and I want to convert it to English language
so I decided to clean install it. So I decided to delete the all partition including the
recovery partition and the recovery disk cannot be found already.
It restart or reboot during the loading of Windows files whenever I tried to reinstall it.
My question now is, how am I going to clean install Win 7 without needing the recovery partition and
recovery disk. Is there any work-around of doing it?

Thank you so much,

A:HP Pavillion dv7-3007sg : Restarts on loading Windows files

Do you have a Win 7 DVD with a valid COA?

Delete or remove all the partitions, insert the Win 7 DVD and it should install. Select your options to load the English version. There are several tutorials covering clean install. Do a search of the tutorial forum and follow the tutorial explicitly.

Hello katrapezo.  I understand you're having some trouble recording audio. Have you tried recording in another application such as Sound Recorder?  I'd also like you to remove your audio drivers and allow Windows to reinstall them.  Here are the steps.Click Start, type "Device Manager," and press Enter.Expand the "Sound, video, and game controllers" section.Right click on your sound card and select "Uninstall."Reboot your computer.Verify whether the problem persists. Also, what is your notebook's product number?  This document can show you where it is located.Have a wonderful day.

Sounds like it might be time for a reinstall to refresh the OS and overcome any lingering infection. Follow these same steps for Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7 particularly when it comes to drivers and Updates.

Otherwise work through these Troubleshooting Steps for Windows 7 including the hardware tests.

If you have (and should have) a USB keyboard and mouse connect them and see if they will work.
Since your file system was already corrupted you cloned the bad files to the new drive.
If the USB devices work you should do a Repair Install.
If that doesn't work do this: Using System Recovery, Factory Reset and Minimized Image Recovery Options HP Pavilion dv6-3225dx Entertainment Notebook PC | HP? Support
From this tut:
Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7

   Information
On newer models HP Recovery may offer a Minimized OS Recovery option when booting from F11, which retains only the OS, Recovery Manager, HP Support Asst, and HP Wireless LAN. This is as close to a clean reinstall as you can get without doing one yourself.
● If you clean reinstall only to C and leave all other partitions intact, F11 Recovery key should still work later if you need it.
● You can also Extract HP 3rd Party Software from RecovCD.
● Problems with volume control lighting and HP Quick Launch buttons have been dealt with here where you can also get further support.

Hi

Several weeks ago I bought the new HP Pavillion dv9574ea notebook and the HEADPHONE SOCKETS do not work - there are two. Only the speakers work. Even when I put a working set of headphones which are the right size, I cannot hear anything through the hearphones. The normal loud speakers however keep working, although they should switch off when the headphones are plugged in.

Please see the screenshot of the drivers active (in system 32 folder) and other details about the headphone socket.

Thank you for any help.

Hello there

Looks like you're missing a few files in your system there

This one i believe is a must, but feel free to correct me if you feel so obligated. ;o)

Looks like you might just need a quick windows repair to sort it out, but lets see what other people have to say.

Hi guys I've been having non-stop problems with one of my machines that runs on Windows Certain applications such as streamed content skype video calls hardware accelerated flash or otherwise games seem to be able to cause the machine to crash either freezing and stuttering or automatically restarting The machine was built new less Frequent restarts and freezes than a year ago and I've had the Frequent freezes and restarts problems the entire time however they are becoming more and more prevalent I don't seem to have any issues with my actual hardware my memory is fine and the machine is quite happy to run normally in XP Vista I do however require Windows and a stable -bit environment for work purposes so I can't switch to an older OS All of my drivers are up to date Since there's no BSOD it's quite hard to pin down It's been suggested before that there might be a problem with Intel's SpeedStep tech and Windows on certain configurations and disabling SpeedStep did seem to mitigate the problem for a short period of time Anyone have any ideas System spec OS Windows Pro -bit Mobo Asus P P D Pro Bios ver default CPU Intel Core i RAM Gb Corsair Dominator GPU Palit Gb GeForce GT Many thanks Luke

Hi PakFame, and welcome to TSF.

You really do need to take Sobeits advice in your other thread.

And please don't create multiple threads about the same problem, it is against forum rules.

Would Windows server 8 beta and Windows 8 Beta Consumer Previewbe consequentially altered to other window edition?

May be a driver issue as running in Safe Mode seems to be okay. I've attached the requested files for you to take a look at. The only driver issue flagged in perfmon was my logitech illuminated keyboard.

All three are blamed on your video driver. I would also run a system file check to verify your system files and update the below drivers.

When upgrading your graphic driver you MUST remove all traces of the current driver. In order to do that we recommend using Guru3D - Driver Sweeper

When it is removed then download and install the fresh copy.
Run a system file check to verify and repair your system files.
To do this type cmd in search, then right click to run as administrator, then
SFC /SCANNOW

read here for more information SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker

Let us know the results from the report at the end.

This is a very common bugcheck. Usually the exception address pinpoints
the driver/function that caused the problem. Always note this address
as well as the link date of the driver/image that contains this address.
Some common problems are exception code 0x80000003. This means a hard
coded breakpoint or assertion was hit, but this system was booted
/NODEBUG. This is not supposed to happen as developers should never have
hardcoded breakpoints in retail code, but ...
If this happens, make sure a debugger gets connected, and the
system is booted /DEBUG. This will let us see why this breakpoint is
happening.

Within the last couple months my computer started freezing/restarting and giving me the occasional BSOD. I did a system restore (which made my TurboTax 2015 disappear) since that was the only new software I had installed recently. It didn't help.

A friend recommended I try mdsched (no errors), sfc /scannow (no integrity violations), a video memory stress test, and BlueScreenView. Googling the results of BlueScreenView (my latest was irql_not_less_or_equal and they all say "caused by driver: ntoskrnl.exe") led me here. After browsing through a few forum posts, it seems you need to see the logs. I've run the DM collector and will be uploading my logs here in a moment.

Thanks in advance for any insight/help.

Hi,

The issue I am facing is that every now and then (after a few hours) my internet stops working. When I disable my LAN card and enable it again internet becomes available. Can someone please tell me what might be the problem?

Thanks in advance

A:Lan card requires frequent restarts to work !!! ??? HELP

It could be an issue with the router if your using one. something with DHCP, because when you disable it and reenable it it renews the IP address. Try resetting or reconfiguring the router if you have one. If not my first attempt to fix the issue would be the download the latest drivers for the card from the manufacturer website.
Or even just reinstall the network card completley through device manager with the updated drivers.

New user here looking for some help. I've got an old system (Dell E1505) running Win 8.1 that has been hanging up randomly. Sometimes it just freezes, other times it will prompt an automatic restart.

I can't tie it to anything specific, but it has been happening with greater frequency--now often within 10 min of powering up. At first I thought it may be overheating, but I cleaned out the fan and heat sink with no improvement.

I'm trying to get a few more months out of this thing, would appreciate any help.

Thanks!
