Accessing VC compiled DLL in VB6

Q: Accessing VC compiled DLL in VB6

I am trying to access some functions in a DLL created in VC. When I make the call to the function VB returns the error that it can't find the DLL. I've checked the spelling SEVERAL times. It's spelled correctly. I've also tried placing the DLL in the local folder where my VB APP is, in the Windows System folder and in the Windows System32 folder. The VC program finds the DLL in all these locations, but the VB program does not. I've even tried hard-coding the path to the DLL. Still no luck. Here's the declaration and call:

Declare Function ZMDOpenPort Lib "ZMDSerialComm.dll" Alias "OpenPort" (ByVal port As Long, baudRate As Long, parity As Long, stopBits As Long, nCOM As Long) As Long
Call ZMDOpenPort( MyPort, MyBaud, MyParity, MyStop, MyCom )

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/directdownload.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hello tim8w. I'm no expert on VC but seeing as you haven’t had any replies, I thought I’d have a go. I wrote a DLL in VC a while ago and had problems getting VB 6 to access it. Eventually I figured it out. First of all the function you are calling from VB must be declared “void __stdcall”, Eg “void __stdcall dosomething()” in your C++ source file. Second, you must have a definitions (.DEF) file. Without it VB cannot see the functions you are trying to export from your DLL. My one exported two functions, filereplace() and filereplaceall(), and and looked like this:

; filerpl.def : Declares the module parameters for the DLL.

LIBRARY "filerpl"
DESCRIPTION 'filerpl Windows Dynamic Link Library'

EXPORTS
; Explicit exports can go here
filereplace @1
filereplaceall @2

I hope this helps. BTW I'ma ssuming you wrote the DLL. If you did not try registering it.

Hi, I hope I don't sound too stupid but this is my first VB6 program and I compiled it in WinXP but when I copied and ran the thing in Win98, some code won't do their job.

I made some "scripting.filesystemobject" calls mainly to copy files and check for folders, I also tried to read the contents of an "excel.workbook". The scripting portion seems to work most of the time (not always), but the "excel" portion just won't run.

I have Office2003 on my XP and Office2000 on the Win98 machine. I was thinking this shouldn't cause a problem since the Excel files are saved in the "Excel 97-2000" version.

Any thougths? Please

A:VB6 compiled in WinXP won't run in Win98

Not sure if this will work but i had a similar problem
some of your dll files will over write those in the windows 98
some of these are not compatable
what i did to solve this was copy the dll files in question this takes time to find the ones causing problems
and put them in a folder called system98 instead of using the XP dll from the system folder, then i compile my exe using these
this solved my problem
hope this helps

Hey all,

May sound like quite a simple question, and granted, it is fine on my home PC...but...

On my work PC, which is quite locked down i am unable to view CHTML files.

We have Word, Notepad, Adobe etc etc...

On my home PC they open fine, in some kind of application, but at work, these fail to open and produce some error (sorry i am not at work at the moment).

So my question...?

Is there another application that will open these documents in the same, or close to the same format as Word hangs and Notepad loses all formatting and the document is in jibberish.

Or is there some kind of document converter that will convert to a PDF file?

Any help gratefully received!

Thanks

I am Using 2 Raptor SATA dirves configured in Raid 0 on the VIA Raid controller. I am wondering if I can Install a not so old 80GB ATA drive to use for storage of MP3 files and the like. My MB has connectors for four SATA drives (2 Via and 2 Promise) and MB connections for ATA drives as well. The MB is ASUS A8V Deluxe. Will the SATA and ATA drives be able to communicate? I would like to be ble to access the ATA drive from the XP boot OS located on the SATA drive. If This is not possible would SATA drives configured on the VIA controller be able to communicate with Sata drives configured on the Promise controller. Thanks for your help!

Dear all,
I have a problem in running a program made in Fortran 77 (by somebody else) and compiled at 32 bit in Windows on Windows Vista 64 bit.
I am forced to use the 64 bit because the 32 bit pc doesn't have enough ram for the operations required by the program.

I thought there was backward compatibility, but when i run the executable on Vista 64 bit, it tells me that it cannot do it because it is compiled at 32 bit.
I do not have a 64 bit compiler and don't know where to find it.

Do you know how can I solve this problem?
Is there a way to make Vista 64 bit running the exe anyway? (compatibility mode??)
Or should I find a compiler at 64 bit?

Thank you very much for your answer!

Well most programs now usually use Compiled HTML help files. If I click the "help" button in a program I get no reaction. If I go to the installed folder and manually click the help file it says:
"Cannot open the file: [email protected]:C:location\of\file\here.chm."

I don't under why this happens and it happens with all the Compiled HTML help files. I wish I could view them as it would help me a lot. Thanks in advance.

I use windows XP and I can't repair my xp because xp was preinstalled and I never got a cd.

Thanks in advance.

Hello folks,
I'm just curious, has the compiled HTML help format reached end of life and end of support from Microsoft? I ask this due to the simple fact that I believe it an easy format for documentation, and I applaud anyone who uses it for their projects. I also want to learn how to create those one day in the event I find uses for it, (which knowing me, I probably will), but I'd like the community's opinion whether it's worth my time. I don't particularly like the new MSDN style documentation that Microsoft provides to be honest. Any opinions/corrections on this would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks,

A:compiled programs in Visual Studio 2015 Community are invisible

I have the same problem.
I work with Visual Studio 2015, Windows 10.
When I compile a C++ program, with Visual Studio, it doesn't work anymore. The .exe file generated stays opened in "system", and blocks the execution.
The .exe files that I compiled a week ago work fine. But when I recompile the same code and it frozes.

I'm not sure, but I suspect Windows 10 updates to be responsible...

It's only been four days since the Windows 10 Technical Preview was released to the public, however that doesn't mean the build that was issued with the Technical Preview is new. Windows 10 build 9841 was compiled on September 12, which was around three weeks ago. That's ancient in development time, so it's no surprise that build 9855 was recently compiled.

Thanks to the "preview builds" ability (which doesn't currently work) in the Windows 10 Technical Preview, users who are using the Technical Preview have managed to see some more recent builds of Windows 10. According to logs that appear when the operating system is attempting to connect to the update server, the operating system is seeing builds as new as a few days ago. Build 9855 was compiled on October 2nd, just two days ago.

Hi all,

I have read online that there is a solution for ADO-base application to work from top-down level, i.e, Win 7 to Win XP etc. However, I would like to know is there a solution to solve a bottom-up level problem for ADO application to work. A
short background story, I'm now working on a VB6 project which is running perfectly fine in Win XP ver. However, when I move my project from XP to Win 7 SP1 (Enterprise Version), and I tried to recompile it, I got the
"xx_deprecated" error.
I learn that using msado60_Backcompat.tlb is able to solve the top-down issue. So what about bottom-up? Does this method works too? Hope any gurus here can advise on me this issue. Thank you very much.

I am a military service member trying to access my OWA e-mail and Defense Travel System (DTS) with a MacBook Pro. I am currently running Mac OS X Lion 10.7.5. I did not have any issues in accessing my OWA or DTS until December of last year. I understand there was a software update to Mac OS X Lion during this time and this could be the reason.

Whenever I try to login my OWA I get the following error:

Whenever I try to login to DTS I get the following error:

It is showing in device manager as USB mass storage device with no errors. It is also listed in disk management under my primary hdd. The hdd is powered by the adapter and I can hear it spinning.

My Lenovo Y710 has 4 gig of RAM installed, but Vista, of course, only used 3 gig. I thought when I upgraded to Win7 (32bit) that it would use all 4 gig, but system information says it's still only using 3 gig. Is there a setting I can change or perhaps a BIOS upgrade that will cause the machine to use all 4 gig of RAM.

Thanks in advance,
John P. Sparkman

A:Accessing 4 gig of RAM

32-bit OS(s) can only addressed roughly 3.5gb of ram. 64-bit can use all 4gb. However if you have a embedded video card, it will take some of that memory.

so i pulled my HDD out of my computer because windows was corrupt and i couldnt boot up. it would be really nice to be able to pull files off the HDD, but when i plug it into my laptop (via IDE to USB) it says that it is inaccessable because of an I/O Device Error. just wondering if i am screwed or if there is something i can do to get into the HDD.

Thanks!

A:Accessing bad HDD

Just to make sure, is the cables in correctly... also with the usb cradles, you might need to have the master, slave, cable select in a particular spot (normally master or cable select)..

A:Need help accessing my PC

Neobahamut, if you have another computer you could try accessing your D: drive, and as you said you have the password, you should be able to access the data / remove bit locker encryption completely. Let me know if this helps.

I have a Trendnet TV-IP110/W IP camera. I set up a free account with a dns company and can access my camera over the net, problem is when I connect it asks for login info and then shows the admin panel to the camera.

Is there a way to type the url and just see the video stream? I disabled direct video stream authentication but it's still giving me logon screen then admin panel.

I recall that previous Windows always sat on top of our old friend
"DOS".
I know that some of the "F" buttons can get you to some of the DOS commands of old.
I would like to know how I can actually go to the DOS C:/ Prompt and work through it, use it's many commands etc.

I am most interested in CHKDSK. thanks, missfuffy

My wife and I have some friends who have a PC which doesn't work anymore, and they gave it to me to try and help. They were using XP.

The overall system is done, but they wanted to get photos from the HD, which are many of family, and they don't want to lose them.

I connected the HD to my system, which runs Windows 7, and can see the folders in question, but can't drag them to my USB stick, or my HD or anything.

It says I don't have permission to view these photos...is there a password they need to give me? Or is this a Windows 7 security issue?

They're anxious to hear some news, any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'll be speaking with them over this weekend, and hope to have their photos back.

Thanks in advance for any ideas.

Hello,

I'm running Windows 7 and have a friend who has given me a HD from their computer, which doesn't work.

I plugged it into my system, and can access the HD, but keep getting errors saying that I don't have the proper permission to view the JPG's I've been asked to retrieve.

I can't even just drag the files to a memory stick I have plugged into my USB.

What is the way around this? Do I have to find out their password, and enter it somewhere?

Any thoughts

Thanks

I have two windows 7 desktops connected on a LAN. I do not use the Homegroup sharing (have problem with IP6 on one of the machines) anyway I prefer the conventional standard workgroup share system. Now neither computers use IDs and passwords (left blank). But when I try and access a share on one machine from another, I get the id and password box, yet none are set. And I get stuck here and cannot access shared drives (and have locally set the drive to share with the hand symbol under the drive). How can I access the shares on the other machine. Both are on the same LAN and see each other. Never had this prob with XP although that had its own problematic ways of working at times. Mike

Hey people,

Have just upgraded a friends pc to Win XP, They have a standard BT broadband voyeger modem. Went through all the standard installation process with the modem and could access the internet fine.

The system is a compaq, on boot up compaq comes up in red on the screen and this it, it just hangs.....none on the "f" number options work to enter BIOS etc,....however, if the broadband modem is disconnected at this point or before the pc is switched on it boots up no problem.

I have XP and BT broadband and dont get any problems, yet this pc wont boot at switch on unless the modem is disconnected?

Hi,

Anyone know if it's possible to access files in a partition with no recognizable file system? I had a computer meltdown and took it in to a shop but they weren't recovery experts and though they told me they could do it... they couldn't. I got it back with one drive and instead of the unpartitioned space I'd sent it away with I now had an extended dos partition. I couldn't access that space and since my only other option is format I thought I'd instead do a little tinkering and created a logical partition. I can now see the drive at least but it's telling me it has no recognizable file system. I know those files are there as it's telling me it's 60% in use I just need to know if there's any way I can retrieve them or should I just give up and reformat. Thanks.

I'm not sure how to descirbe this but the problem just started happening. If I am playing a game full screen every so often the game minimizes and I goes back to windows. If I'm using surfing the web the samething happens, IE doesn't minimize but it deselects it, so while I'm typing this I have to reselect IE to start typing again. It doesn't make any sense to me. Does this sound familiar to anyone?

Sounds like you could have a virus. Have you scanned for adware/spyware and virus scan? Are your security utilities up to date? Have you added/removed any programs lately? Go here www.greyknight17.com/spyware.htm and follow the instructions carefully. After scanning with HiJackThis place your log in the HiJackThis Log Help Forum. I think there is a option somewhere in the control panel that has a checkbox for allowing remote access. I don't know very much about it, but that sounds like it has something to do with it. Sorry I can't be of more help.

try control panel->system->remote and then the bottom button. It explains that you can access one computer from another.

I can't access internet options from tools, properties from file.
I've reduced the security to low to see if that helped turned off the firewall "looknstop"
I've left it on for a period to see if anything happened. No change.
Nothing has made any difference.

I got the "Windows Explorer has stopped working" error. For me, it pops up as soon as I log into my account so I have no access to the start menu, anything at all like that.

Once I log in, it goes to a grey screen where the error pops up. Unfortunately, I hadn't been using System Restore so that's not an option for me. I don't mind reformatting, but all I really want off my hard drive are all of my pictures. I was wondering if there's any way to access my image files by running some sort of command in the CMD window.

If anyone knows a way around this, please help.

Hello supernova, and welcome to the forums.

You should be able to email all the contact information to yourself, or export it to a flash drive. Do you have an iPod touch? If so, you could sync it to those contacts, and export it to the other computer. Someone else here may have a better suggestion, but both of those should work...

Hi i am getting a new hard drive and am just wondering if i can access my files that were saved - music, pictures, documents etc whilst there is no hard drive in the computer?

sorry im a novice!

A:Accessing files with no hd

Hi -

After new HDD is in and Windows is installed, you can connect the old drive to a USB/ SATA adapter like these -

http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicati...7BBTkwCjCECjCE

One plug goes to the old HDD; the other - the USB - plugs into USB port. If drive is OK, Windows should recognize it, assign it a drive letter - then you can copy files to your new HDD - Pics, Music, Docs, etc...

I forgot my hotmail password and have to reset it. However the email address to which the new password is being sent is one that is no longer in use. So I am basically locked out of my account and have my contacts and messages inaccessible . How do I reset my password without it being sent to the expired email account?
Thanks for the help.

A:can't accessing websites

Lets start with the basics

Download the trial version of Ewido Security Suite http://www.ewido.net/en/download/ Win2K and XP only
Install ewido.
During the installation, under "Additional Options" uncheck both "Install background guard" and "Install scan via context menu".
Launch ewido
It will prompt you to update click the OK button and it will go to the main screen
On the left side of the main screen click update
Click on Start and let it update.
DO NOT run a scan yet. You will do that later in safe mode.
You might print the next part out to use in safe mode.

Restart your computer into safe mode now. Perform the following steps in safe mode:

Run Ewido:
Click on scanner
Click Complete System Scan and the scan will begin.
During the scan it will prompt you to clean files, click OK
When the scan is finished, look at the bottom of the screen and click the Save report button.
Save the report to your C: Drive
This will take some time to run!
Boot to normal mode
Post that log and a HiJack log. Let me know if you need help with the hijack this app...doc

I have just built a new PC and have put my old hard drive in as a slave. I had program files and various saved files in my doccuments. In trying to access this on my new PC it will not allow me to. Thinking about it, I have realised my username needed a password before windows would load. Assuming this is why I can't read from that folder on new PC is there any way, knowing my password I used on old PC, that I can get access to this folder?

A:Accessing old my docs on old PC

I would put the hardrive back into the other computer, and link them in a network. Access the computer that way, and transfer everything to your newer machine.
Not the ideal method, granted, but one that will work, provided you have the patience to set up a small intranet network between the two boxes. Good luck.

Your old XP files will be in a folder on the C: drive called Windows.old. under Documents and Settings/[username]/My Documents. You can copy them from that file and store them in your Documents folder.

Hi all,

I have set up a VPN connection over the internet to my work windows SB2000 which is setup as a domain.

Once I connect the only computer available to browse is my laptop.

I have installed NWlink IPX/SPX Netbios protocol on the Wan miniport connection but it won't talk and sends back an error 733, which I take it is aproblem on the server end.

Am I on the right track any ideas.

Thanks

As some might know, my computer's monitor broke. I'm buying a new iMac (because the computer is shot anyway). However, I still have some stuff left on my PC, so I can't throw it away just yet. So...is there anyway I can access the computer without a monitor? I heard somewhere that you can control it via VNC, but how does this work?

BTW, I do have a VNC program on it currently, that I used to access it with my iPod touch, however, it doesn't start automatically when the computer boots, and I have two password protected accounts. (I know the passwords, though)

A:Accessing a PC without a monitor?

You'd need the software to be preconfigured to run and accept incoming requests to connect. I use remote desktop blind all the time in a local network but that protocol is built into XP pro and listening all the time once its configured. VNC works the same way if configured, you don't even need to sign into an account first; it displays the sign in screen and you take it from there.

I think you're going to have to borrow a monitor otherwise, or take out the drive with the info on it and put it into a system or onto an external adapter and get the info from the drive that way.

My problem is that sometimes, but not all the time, when I left click on a story, within a site, such as npr.org, or quite a few others, that story or article will not come up.
At times I can right click on this and open it in another tab, but sometimes not even this is available or works.
There is no rhyme or reason when this will happens. I am usually able to correct most problems that have come up, but not this.

So quick backstory to my issue...

My gf's computer crashed, registry was all messed up. It is a Gateway laptop so I used the Gateway restore cd that backs up the hard drive into a folder then re-installs windows fresh. She was the only user of the computer, he account was set as admin for the computer.

So now I'm trying to get some program data and documents and such from the backup folder. When I try to access her "my documents" folder in the backup folder, it says I do not have the rights to access the folder. Is there any way I can get into these files???

Thanks for any help guys!

Welcome Jeffmiller45 to the windows 7 forum.

Can it be assumed that your running the iPad Remote Desktop program?

If you set it up correctly on your PC, and allow access via rdp, then you will have to access it via it's IP, as your iPad should have an IP in the same range as your PC. Unless your PC has a static IP then you will have to enter that IP via your wireless on your iPad.

What RDP App are you running on your iPad?

A:Accessing D\:i386

What is the model # of your Presario? First off to setup faxing, you have to have a Dial-Up FAX Modem installed on the computer. and you have to have a phone line attached to the modem (how would you send or receive a FAX without it?) If you have that setup, if you have an XP Home CD (it does not have to be SP3 or be the one that came with the computer) put that in. You can also browse to your C: drive to see if your have I386 in the root of the C: drive (C:\I386) If not, you need to borrow an XP CD. But there is no use, unless you have a Dial-UP Fax Modem installed. There are plenty of Web FAX services available

I have a Toshiba Laptop with no OS. I have tried to install the factory settings that came with the CD, but there is no OS installed. Somehow the OS has been completely removed. When I try to access the BIOS I find it is password protected, and I have no idea what the password is. Anyone know how to override the password, or otherwise gain access to the BIOS?

Any and all help will be very appreciated.

I have a Workgroup network. I have shared nearly all files on my XP as well as Vista Computer. From Vista I can access all XP files, but on XP I cannot access Vista files. I get the message \\john-pc\john files is not accessible You might not have permission to use this network resource.

sta files. On both computers I have only one account with Administrator rights.

A:Accessing Vista from XP

Try right-clicking on the folder(s) you want to share in Vista, and select Share.

My parents have just bought another PC, but I'm going back to uni and won't be around to help them if anything goes wrong or they need to change anything (they're not entirely computer literate).

I have Windows 7 on my pc at uni, and their pc will have it. Is there any way I can access their pc from my pc, like telephone helpline agents sometimes can, in order to do things for them, rather than having to explain everything over the phone?

A:Remote accessing another PC

Yes, you have to set up a VPN (Virtual Private Network) so you can remotely connect to their LAN from the internet. Then set up The remote desktop connection which requires an password protected account on the host computer.

This link may help:

How to set up a VPN

To establish a remote desktop connection you need the local ip address of the host computer and the password (as well as the associated username.)

Also you may have to configure your router to accept a VPN connection.

Feel free to post a reply if you are lost or need more help.

Hi - lately there is some problem with my hard drives taking some time to react again after they've been quiet for a while. I have had my hardware setup for some time now and this delay is recent - either that or I have only just noticed!!

I have three drives as below, with my system operating from a Sata 3 and all my data on two 1TB Sata II drives. The delay occurs when accessing either drive. Once the drives have clicked in (it's an audible click) all is fine until after another period of them doing nothing. I am hoping this isn't a hardware issue. Is that likely??

Is there a setting somewhere I can change to stop this happening, i.e. to keep the drives in a state of alertness?

System: Hitachi 500GB HDS721050DLE630 ATA Device
Primary data disk: SAMSUNG HD103UJ ATA Device
Secondary data disk: ST31000333AS ATA Device
Motherboard: Gigabyte UD3R-SLI

A:HDD - delays when accessing

You could test the drives for any bad sectors, by using this tutorial:

Disk Check

Hope this helps,

Does anyone know how to access the BIOS (cmos setup screen) on a Compaq Presario 4716. I've tried every F key, Delete, etc., etc. I have installed a new hard drive and need to access BIOS. Thanks to anyone that can help.

A:Accessing the BIOS

You have to do it at the right time, for a Compaq it's generally when the little square box appears in the upper right-hand corner. Most Compaq's use F10 (I have an old puter which uses ctrl+alt+esc).

Hang in there - someone may come along with the exact answer you need.

Hi All Have a computer Vista home premumin 32 bit, and cannot surf the web with FF, Google or IE. Can ping 8.8.8.8 and www.google.com. I have ipconfig /release, renew, flushed and register dns, flushed arp cache, rebuilt winsock. A:Accessing the internet

I would first try to reinstall Firefox, Chrome, and Internet Explorer. If that doesn't help then you could download Windows Repair All-In-One.

A:Accessing D: after formatt

You might need a start up disk with cd support.. Get one here http://www.compucheap.com/pages/download2.htm
It will load the drivers you need..

And A plug for the site that provides those files.. http://www.compucheap.com/

I know most "user friendly" systems tell you in plain sight how to access BIOS when it is booting. Well a friend of mine got a Dell Optiplex 5100, that has the boot sequence set-up where it checks all three drives (3.5 floppy, CD-Rom, IOMEGA Zip).

He is wanting me to change the boot sequence to where the zip drive is not checked when the PC is booting. The only way I know that is possible is by accessing the boot sequence in BIOS.

Just my question is how do I get into the BIOS to make that change.

Okay....

Honestly, I'm new to this and I have never used a bluetooth before this time... and I'm not sure how to work with bluetooths... my friend (not so good at computers) gave it to me to open it and copy the stuff from it - it is a USB bluetooth... so please try to be as lenient as possible when explaining things

hmmm... well so I put in on my computer, the green light flahes, my computer recognizes a new hardware... but it won't install

2 problems
1- the bluetooth CD is lost
2- It is a generic type... hmm called Xtreme Technology with XTRA Value Ver. 2.0 EDR Class 1
So.... what to do... any help would be appreciated... I have winxp home edition

Hi New here My home computer runs Win XP My office accessing Remotely RDC via computer runs Win I would like to access my home computer from my office computer and vice versa I have set up Remote Desktop Connection RDC on both computers according to the instructions given in the Help pages for both operating Remotely accessing via RDC systems I have added RDC as an exception to the Windows firewall on both machines In both cases the computers are connected to the internet via a broadband modem and a common ISP In both cases a WIFI router is also employed to make laptop connections available The RDC works fine whilst within the WIFI environment In other words I can connect locally to both Host computers using a laptop as a Client so I have every reason to believe that I have set up the RDC correctly But I cannot access the computers remotely I can't see the computer names I can't see their IP addresses I tried pinging them and it timed out I feel that it has to be something to do with the settings for the modem provided by the ISP I can access the modems setup using a browser and Various help sites suggest a special Remotely accessing via RDC port number but I can't find anywhere in the modem setups to be able to use that port number I have tried asking the ISP for help but now days later there is no response from them Does anyone have any ideas that might help me please

A:Remotely accessing via RDC

See if this helps:

When you are connecting to the host computer from outside it's local network, you would use the WAN IP and not the local IP address. The Wide Area Network IP can be found by using a site like www.whatismyip.com whilst browsing on the host computer. E.g. Use the RDP to connect to the WAN IP and not the local.

You should then forward port TCP 3389 to the local IP address in the router (and possibly the modem too)

This will RDP connect to your remote network "outside IP" and your remote network will then "hand off' the RDP connection to the "local IP."

--NOTE--
Some modems/routers call port forwarding "Virtual Servers"

Decent site. I cant however make it ask for a username and password.

I'm running Windows XP and if I'm on a compuer within my network connecting to the internet through my router, if i type in the FTP://IPADDRESS then it will connect, if im outside my house on a differant network it dosent work.
