Preferred Solution: nvidia driver for fault bucket?

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/directdownload.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Does anyone know what these mean:
0x1a_3452_nt!MiDeleteAddressesInWorkingSet+2fb,type0 (This has occurred on my computer 13 times from January until today 11/3/2012)
PAGE_NOT_ZERO,type 0
ZEROED_STACK, type 0
0x24_Ntfs!NtfsFreeSnapshots ForFeb+c0, type 0

And there are MANY, MANY more. I didn't know about looking at the events to see the errors that I had sent. I just found out about that today. And so, we haven't done it in a while. Do I have a serious problem?
Thank you for any help!

Occasionally, when trying to fix a computer, I encounter this term.

Windows error reporting states I don't have to worry about it, but the problem persists.

A:what is a fault bucket?

A fault bucket identification number is a number assigned by the system to identify specific types of errors usually this correlates to problems showing in the Event Viewer.
Also this identifcation number is what is used by Microsoft in order to identify a particular program error when you send an error report.

WinXP Home Sp-1

Sometimes, not always, when opening My Computer or Windows Explorer, it crashes. The App error log reports: explorer.exe version 6.0.2800.1221 has errored in faulting module ntdll.dll version 5.1.2600.1106 Fault address 0x00002109. It seems this ntdll.dll is the root.

Another error is logged: Fault bucket 50940626

1. As anyone experienced this?

2. Recently renamed the computer but, the original name still appears in Win Explorer as a folder. Only one user on this machine. Could this be it?

3. Do I ned to change the old name everywhere in the registry?

4. Should I just do an XP repair?

A:Fault Bucket???

As I understand it...fault buckets are basically program debug mistakes which cause the system/program to crash.See http://phorums.com.au/archive/index.php/t-210235.htmlWhen it happens on my system, I just assume that the program has damaged files, needs updating, or needs reinstalling. If it's a known program that I can't update and which I know has a history of being troublesome, I just ignore the error...since the resolution would probably involve removing the program. If I had a large number of these, due to the same application...I would remove the program permanently.Louis

Please go to the C:\Windows\Minidump directory and zip up the contents of that folder. Then upload the .zip file in your next post. We'll have a look at the dmp files and will see if that gives us any information.

Have you checked to ensure that the laptop fans are running? Have you blown out the vents with compressed air (don't us a vacuum or an air compressor - it'll damage the components)?

Have you recently changed anything on the system? Do you recall anything unusual that stands out in your mind?

Hey all!
So, during Christmas, I received an 850 Pro as a gift. After the upgrade, I installed a fresh copy of WIn 7 ULtimate, as well as all the required drivers. I started experiencing BSODs after I put the computer to sleep or wake it up. It does not happen all the time, but 3 out of 5.
Blue Screen Reder shows NVIDIAs drivers to be the cause. Not sure what to do, because I did downgrade to earlier gpu drivers that worked before.
The system was rock solid before the upgrade and fresh install.
The logs are attached, as per instructions.
Really hope someone can help me out, thanks in advance!

A:Random BSODs - started after fresh Win 7. NVIDIA drivers at fault?

Hi There,

You are right about the Nvidia drivers, Uninstall that one for now.

Seeing as this is laptop your best option is to just install what ever driver Microsoft finds through windows update.

It may get offered in the several rounds of updates you are missing as well as SP1,

Code:
Host Name: DIODIA-PC
OS Name: Microsoft Windows 7 Ultimate
OS Version: 6.1.7600 N/A Build 7600
OS Manufacturer: Microsoft Corporation
OS Configuration: Standalone Workstation
OS Build Type: Multiprocessor Free
Registered Owner: diodia
That should be the first thing you do, get SP1 and all the updates following it.

Hello After many many hours of searching forums for solutions I have been unable to find a solution to my problem - so I decided to open a topic of my own and hope someone can help me with my problem specifically My problem is similar to this topic although the solutions posted there aren't working for me In short I have been experiencing random but frequent BSODs and counting with the Nvidia state graphics BSOD problems / power driver driver message 'driver power state overload' being displayed In my quest for a solution I wanted to upgrade my drivers when I noticed my Nvidia Geforce M graphics card seems to have disappeared When I try to install the latest driver from Nvidia's website I get the error 'graphics driver could not find compatible graphics hardware' Attempting to open the Nvidia control panel gives me BSOD driver power state / Nvidia graphics driver problems the message 'An Nvidia graphics card was not detected on your system' and I cannot find the card listed in the device manager only the intel HD graphics family is listed under display adapters To be clear I'm quite sure my laptop SHOULD have this card it's just not detecting it for some reason Since the symptoms of my problem are exactly the same as described in the topic linked above I have tried to follow the solution described by Arc Installed Driver Fusion started in BSOD driver power state / Nvidia graphics driver problems in safe mode and tried to delete Nvidia drivers - but nothing seemed to be listed here I still clicked delete but not sure if this actually did something or not

A:BSOD driver power state / Nvidia graphics driver problems

Hello Zephos.

As per the supplied data, this is the specification of your graphics.

Code:
Name Intel(R) HD Graphics 4000
PNP Device ID PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_0166&SUBSYS_21031043&REV_09\3&11583659&2&10
Adapter Type Intel(R) HD Graphics Family, Intel Corporation compatible
Adapter Description Intel(R) HD Graphics 4000
Adapter RAM (2.080.374.784) bytes
Installed Drivers igdumd64.dll,igd10umd64.dll,igd10umd64.dll,igdumd32,igd10umd32,igd10umd32
Driver Version 9.17.10.2932
So, it says it is not nVidia. But as you are saying that it was Nvidia Geforce 650M, and it disappeared, the best option is to contract the vendor. I wish you are within warranty?

Hi to Driver from but likely Fault, which one? BSOD What do? all Ever since I purchased my Asus W J T ATI Mobility X I ve been plagued by BSOD casued by no particular action and at completely random times and intervals Suspecting the RAM I replaced it despite making it through many passes of memtest but no dice BSOD likely from Driver Fault, but which one? What to do? the problem persisted The Windows Error Reporter tells me I have a driver problem and running my minidumps through Windb tells me the same thing but they rarely get more specific than that I occasionally am told that my video driver is at fault but I ve upgraded it every time a new one is available and have tried the Omega Drivers as well to avail I ve tried updating virtually every other driver as well since I can t be sure it s the video driver Writing this very post somehow caused a BSOD so I ve been forced to switch to my faithful Linux backup computer for the time being Since the T can support it I think I may try to install Vista -bit and hope that a new set of drivers will resolve the problem Is this likely The three most recent Minidumps will be attached as soon as I can get the other computer running long enough to edit this post Thanks Brett nbsp

A:BSOD likely from Driver Fault, but which one? What to do?

When you have done Windb do you continue on to the kd> space at the bottom for further analysis by typing !analyze -v and then press enter to get detailed bugging information?

I have found that zeros me right to the driver causing the issue.

Edited Update: I read your minidumps and the two from 3/11 and 3/24 point to the ntkrpamp.exe and the one on 3/26 is due to win32k.sys. From what I have been reading, some from the archives of Tech Spot itself, 80% of it points to faulty RAM. Do a MemTest86+ for at least 10 passes to see if you have any memory errors.

Others here have greater knowledge than I, but if you have bad memory that can cause all kinds of headaches.

Hi,
I have a Dell XPS L502x, which I bought late 2012. Recently the hard drive became corrupt so I've replaced it and installed Windows 7 on the new hard drive. I've just downloaded and ran the software to detect which drivers I need to install and have downloaded and installed all of them with the exception of the nvidia graphics driver which says I need to install an Intel driver first. I've searched the Dell site but I can't find the Intel driver I need.
Please can you point me to the Intel driver that I need to install?
Cheers,
Mike

A:BSOD NTFS driver fault

Do you have a RAID setup? First, make sure all your windows updates are done. Then update your gpu and sound drivers. Run driver sweeper after you uninstall the drivers, to clean up any leftovers in safe mode and then install the newest drivers.

Then run the memory diagnostic - search for mem in the start menu.

Then, try a clean boot.

How to perform a clean boot procedure to determine whether background programs are interfering with a game or a program that you currently use

I don't know if this is beloning to "Driver" or to "software" so I will write it here.
I'm trying to install SPTD v. 1.58 or v.1.59. It says it installs allright, and that it needs to reebot the PC, but after reboot nothing has been installed. I have tried to run the installer as Admin, but same result. AFAIR sptd should show up in Devicemanager when selecting "show hidden devices" in the "non plug-and-play" array. But no. And if I run the installer again, it says that there is no earlier version to uninstall, will I like to install? But it won't work.

I have tried to shut Avast down, so no program should holding SPTD up, but no luck. Where do I look for this error?

NB: SPTD is a devise used by Daemontool, Alcohol 120% and others.

A:Program or driver? SPTD - fault

Hi Sven,

You mentioned running the install as 'Admin' but have you run it with 'Compatability' for Vista? This might solve your issue, not 100% guaranteed but it's worth a try

I've been having frequent BSODs for a while now. They happen intermittently, usually when I'm doing something graphical such as using skype, or streaming a video. I've tried a number of different versions of ATI's graphics drivers, to no avail. I've tried reinstalling them several times.

I ran driver verifier, but I couldn't get past the Windows bootup screen with it on. On a possibly related note, every time I start the computer, this screen freezes for a second, flickers once, and then continues.

I made this build about 8 months ago. I've got an ATI Radeon HD 5770 and I'm currently using driver version 8.850.0.0. Any help is very much appreciated

Thanks

A:BSOD - maybe display driver's fault?

edit - look at whole post please added more down below

What the minidump is pointing to is a windows core file that controls your network driver.
Though I can see how you thought it was graphics related as it's call ndis.sys ...looks like something display related but it's not.

First make sure the windows file is okay and not corrupt somehow by running this
SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker
(it's quick and easy even if it doesn't change anything)

It would seem you have norton internet security installed. Make sure it's not accidentally blocking any system level processes (this can happen sometime and would explain your problem) ndis needs to be allowed.

Code:
SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED (7e)
This is a very common bugcheck. Usually the exception address pinpoints
the driver/function that caused the problem. Always note this address
as well as the link date of the driver/image that contains this address.
Arguments:
Arg1: ffffffffc0000005, The exception code that was not handled
Arg2: fffff88001a7ac01, The address that the exception occurred at
Arg3: fffff8800cf56a18, Exception Record Address

Could really do with some advise I have looked around but I cannot find anyone that has posted about HD a computer, a think New Problems to driver moveing with fault i it having this problem So I bought a computer about a year ago And now I am upgrading to a new build so my brother can have the st computer But as I wanted to keep all my programs files etc I want to just move my hard drive over So everything has changed in the computer apart from the Problems with moveing HD to a New computer, i think it a driver fault RAM my brother doesn t need GB I have even changed from a AMD to Intel Processor Now this is where it gets interesting the motherboard in the st computer is an ASUS I bought an ASRock motherboard for the new computer put it all together and it worked fine all I had to do was install the new mother board drivers but I Problems with moveing HD to a New computer, i think it a driver fault noticed that I had only put in one GB RAM card one I added the other it wouldn t boot turns out it was Dr debug code a common problem that is a manufacture fault so I returned it and got my money back So now I have bought a new motherboard this one is an ASUS board After Putting it all together and turning it on it starts to load the windows image animation shows and just before it would usually go to the login page it takes you to the black and white screen I forget the name that you get on start-up saying that windows has failed to start and I have two options run windows repair Start windows normally Starting windows normally simply restarts the process Running windows repair runs for about half an hour then says its finished and restarts the computer after restart it just does the same again So I then put the HD back into the old computer and rolled it back to before I installed the ASRock MB thinking that there may be some limit of motherboard drivers it can hold or something stupid This didn t change anything I think that what has happened is that as the Computer is booting with the new ASUS MB it thinks it already has the drivers for it because the old MB was also ASUS And as it loads it figures out that they aren t the rite drivers and panics So that s where I am now I have backed everything up and don t mind reformatting the HD and starting from new but I don t know how to do that I would prefer to just remove all Drivers and the move it to the new computer because then I would still have all my programs but I don t know how to do that and I don t even know it will work P S sorry its a long read

A:Problems with moveing HD to a New computer, i think it a driver fault

With the different hardware, Windows is confused. You can try startup repair but I doubt that it will fix it. Your best option is a clean install (reformat the hard drive and reinstall everything). But, before you do that you will need to backup the user data on the drive so you can recover that after you rebuild the hard drive. Copy the user files to another hard drive or some other media. You will have to reinstall all programs after you do the clean Windows install, you can't just copy programs.

Here is the info on a clean install from our Windows 7 guru's. Clean Install Windows 7

I recently had to re-install windows in order to correct an error I was getting for League of Legends, but after stepping away from the computer for a few minutes, I came back to the computer in the middle of it restarting after a crash. Surely enough, there was also a minidump in the folder, so I'm hoping someone can help me make sense of this.

View attachment Minidump.zip
Included in the zip folder is the CBS log I got after running sfc.exe to check for corrupt files, which came back with a 'yes, but cannot repair'.

A:Daily BSOD, ntoskrnl.exe driver fault?

Tell us when you get these BSODs, i.e., randomly or are you doing something specific at the time.

You have errors 0x3B and two 0xA but they only cite Windows OS drivers and these are usually too general to be of much diagnostic help.

By the way, I noticed your system hardware (nice set-up; love to hear your feed back on that 635 processor) and you are running 6 gigs of RAM. Try running with just 4 gigs. Do you gain stability?

What are the pros and cons of the card manufacturer's graphics driver and nvidia's driver? In my case, the card is an Asus.

A:Manufacturer's graphics driver or Nvidia driver?

If it's just the driver we are talking about then you should download the latest version from the manufacturer. Just look for the WHQL as it will not be a BETA driver.
Personally, I never go with the drivers that comes with the card itself.

I recently ran a couple firewall tests, shields up and auditmypc etc. They're both coming up with a port that's open. I think they called it Tram. It says this port is commonly used for trojans. But my biggest concern is that it is open and I would like to shut it. I have searched my firewall completely for port control options and cannot find the solution anywhere. It also said that my computer responded to Ping (ICMP Echo) Requests. Buy my firewall says that this is blocked, so I do not know how it is still responding. If anyone has had any similar experiences with these firewall test sites, because I don't know if it is my computer or the sites themselves. Please feel free to envelope me in the answer to my frustration.

Hi I just uploaded Windows professional yesterday clean install using windows xp previously Everything went smoothly as far as I could tell and Windows is now running on my laptop However every minutes or so the screen freezes goes black for a second and than returns to normal 7 fault BSOD install, driver after Windows plus display and a message appears in the bottom right hand corner of the screen saying 'Display driver Intel graphics accelerator for windows vista R has stopped responding and successfully recovered' One time after this happened I got the a blue screen with a warning message it was too fast to copy anything down and than my laptop restarted itself I have added a zip file to this message taken from windows minidump as I saw someone suggested to do this BSOD after Windows 7 install, plus display driver fault on another thread I hope it helps with the diagnosis I'm not sure if the BSOD came as a result of the display driver fault as mentioned above I'm not very savvy when it comes to computers One more piece of info - after installing windows I installed all the recommended and critical updates for windows but none of the optional ones I can provide a screen dump of these if needed Hope I've given enough information and would really appreciate any help Thanks

You need to update your Intel Driver:

Code:
Driver: igdkmd32.sys
Refers to: Intel Graphics driver
Dated: Wed May 06 19:13:40 2009
Use the Intel? Driver Update Utility and check for a Win 7 32-bit version:

https://downloadcenter.intel.com/Default.aspx

Aim to update your drivers as many are dated 2009.

Once updated reboot the system and see if your issue remains?

This crash was probably caused by vfilter.sys which is part of your VPN client software. I would remove it to test. BTW for future reference could you zip all the DMP files into one zip file?

Thanks

Windows but I can't figure out how to identify it It started happening after a blue screen while playing a game The computer itself is a prebuilt The bsod checkers I've used consistently point to ntoskrnl exe being the reason for it But I've gotten WDFLDR sys hal dll HDAudBus sys and such along with it However they have not appeared since I've been trying to fix them by updating various drivers We've been fine for the past days then it happened again times A fourth time recently when I tried using that Dm Log Collector and the computer was idle for hours just fine Can anyone point out any suspicious drivers that I should uninstall or update Or perhaps any other issues

I am in a very confused state right now and starting to get annoyed at my OS. I have had 4 crashes that were blue screens and when i did the analysis of every single one of them, it pointed to utorrent and the vista lan driver as causing the problem. I installed the lan driver from my board manufacture and it still happened, again claiming that it is a vista driver fault.

I have all 4 minidumps and i need help analyzing this, because it is getting ridiculous.

system specs
foxconn blackops motherboard
8500 wolfdale processor
2x hd4850's in crossfirePatriot Viper ddr3 ram
vista ultimate OS

Hello, Yesterday I updated the driver for my AMD Radeon HD6310 equipped Gateway laptop . After they were installed WM player stopped working so I went to System Restore and picked a restore point before the driver update. However after initializing, the system crashed and I got a BSOD. I tried several other restore points but they all crashed and led to the BSOD.

Everything was working fine until I downloaded that new AMD driver. Any help would be appreciated.

A:Driver IRQL Not Less or Equal BSOD followed by Page Fault in Non-Paged

Hi Barman42.

As you are having multiple bugchecks with multiple probable causes, the first thing that you should do is to test your RAM modules for possible errors. How to Test and Diagnose RAM Issues with Memtest86+
Run memtest for at least 8 passes, preferably overnight.

If it start showing errors/red lines, stop testing. A single error is enough to determine that something is going bad there.

Let us know the result.

Get a load of this. I rebooted my computer this evening, got a message that one app was still running that was keeping it from rebooting. Reboot anyway? Indeed and only to get an exciting blue screen with three options. One was F8 which did nothing and the Escape which puts me into the BIOS.
When I go into Advance, I see a SATA Mode Selection. Hitting the Enter button, I see AHC1 is presently highlighted. There are two other options, one being IDE and the other RAID. Should I select one of those or do you feel my SSD has totally gone to pieces?

A:Samsung SSD appears to have kicked the bucket

The SATA mode selection should be set to AHCI, unless you have more then one SSD or HDD in a RAID Array then you would choose RAID. IDE is for the older IDE HDD's and running older OS's like XP.
In the Bios, on the Main screen it should list your Drives by manufacturer on your computer. Is your SSD showing in the Bios? If not, the drive may have become unplugged. Check the SATA data cable is plugged in tightly to the SSD and to the motherboard SATA port 1. And the power plug from the PSU is still plugged in tight to the back of the SSD. Make sure the SATA port is Enabled in the Bios. Try a different Data cable, try a different Power Plug from the PSU, try a different SATA port on the motherboard.
You also can remove the SSD and attach it to a USB Adapter, Dock or Enclosure with a power adapter. To see if it is recognized on another computer.

Hi there A few weeks ago I suddenly got a crash with a blue screen on my Vista Home Premium bit machine It's now about years old and has never had any problems of that kind weeks of permanent use and no problems whatsoever the same happened again Both times I didn't have enough time to properly read the error messages as the pc quickly rebooted Now the porblem has gotten driver minidump area equal AND in or nonpaged IRQL less fault not yet another: + page worse and no day passes where it doesn't crash at least once Trying yet another: IRQL driver not less or equal AND page fault in nonpaged area + minidump to fix an internet problem I since the installed a file which may have been contaminated by a virus yet another: IRQL driver not less or equal AND page fault in nonpaged area + minidump But I think that is another story Anyway I have tried everything I could imagine bought register cleaning softwares which found ober errors and updated all my drivers I ran a virus scan which seems to be stuck at and couldn't fix one of the probably contaminated files it is a windows file After I had to stop the scan at I fixed all the problems that had occurred til then and now it says my pc is protected but is it really I even had uninstalled and re-installed vista service pack I have run Memtest as well as the windows memory diagnostic tools - both have NOT come across any errors The problem is I have lost all faith in my computer and as it is my work computer it is really important that I can resolve this issue and have a computer I can trust again I have the minidump file attached Funnily enough there was only one in my minidumo folder I assume that the othes have been deleted when I ran cclean and registrybooster this morning I appreciate yet another: IRQL driver not less or equal AND page fault in nonpaged area + minidump all the help I can get I really need a working computer as it runs my business No computer no income losing customers etc If it is of any interest I have had problems with my wifi connection lately but all the other computers in the office didn't that problem is about as old as the blue screen No idea if its connected at all I updated my ethernet drivers yesterday but I have had several test running on my pc so I am not sure if the internetproblem is resolved Basically what happened was that the connection cut out every few minutes Sorry I forgot to mention that the computer runs for several hours sometimes before it crashes with the blue screen and I have come across two error messages which appeared more common was IRQL driver not less or equal just seen once last night page fault in nonpaged area I have also had quot geebv sys quot in connected with error no idea what that means Thanks in advance Julia

I have a 2007 HP Pavilion that originally had Vista and I started getting BSOD and most were related to ntkrnlpa.exe. I erased the hard drive and updated to Windows 7 professional the other day but the blue screens continue.

I've uploaded the zip file generated from the SF diagnostic tool. HOpefully somebady can assist with the issues.

THanks,
Kevin

Hi there I'm new to this forum. I recently bought a refurbished Asus N56-VM laptop and straight away had a BSOD. It got to the point where the whole system was incredibly slow so I then put a fresh install on a new drive and continue to suffer from different errors including Page Fault errors, Driver IRQL and others. I have updated the drivers with DriverMax but to no avail. I have run Memtest86 and no errors were found. If anyone could help me out that would be great. Please see the attached files. Thanks in advance!

A:Numerous BSOD errors including Driver IRQL and page fault

Hello tinrobot.

First of all, scan the system for possible virus infection.
Anti-rootkit utility TDSSKiller
Windows Defender Offline
Then, install Service pack 1.

Code:
Windows 7 Kernel Version 7600 MP (8 procs) Free x64
Product: WinNt, suite: TerminalServer SingleUserTS
Built by: 7600.17118.amd64fre.win7_gdr.120830-0334
Learn how to install Windows 7 Service Pack 1 (SP1)
Service Pack Center - Microsoft Windows

Which antivirus do you use? I am failing to find any. Use Microsoft Security Essentials as your antivirus with windows inbuilt firewall, and free MBAM as the on demand scanner.
Download, install and update those, and then run full system scans with both of them, one by one, too.

Free up the startup.
Click on the Start button
Type “msconfig (without quotes), click the resulting link. It will open the System Configuration window.
Select the “Startup” tab.
Deselect all items other than the antivirus.
Apply > OK
Accept the restart.
I have seen some failing modules there, like nVidia filter driver and Athros network driver; but it is worthy to do these steps complete and observe the situation. If the scans come clean, and the situation remains the same, we will go for further troubleshooting.

NVIDIA RIVA TNT2 Pro
NVIDIA RIVA TNT2 Ultra
NVIDIA Vanta

NVIDIA GeForce 256

A:Help with Nvidia Driver

it's either Geforce2 MX, GF2 GTS, Pro or Ultra. And easy way to tell is how much you paid for it.

<$200 - Geforce MX
~250- Geforce 2 GTS
~350- Geforce 2 Pro
~500- Geforce 2 Ultra

I have a video driver question
in order for me to be able to play the game Stronghold Kingdom I have to use the Nvidia driver 278.33 Desktop – win 7 winvista – 32 bit
my problem is that every evening the computer will update the driver and I have to reinstall the old one every day so I can play the game.
My question is is there a way I can set the computer so it will not update the driver every night

A:Nvidia driver Help

Hi Masonw123
Simple question, what happens when you install the latest drivers and you try the play the game? Does it crash? Does it gives an error on execution? If so which one? I'm really interested in knowing how more recent drivers can make the game crash since its not supposed to happen, its supposed to help it run smoother.

According to Nvidia 340.52 is compatible. If you think it is slower you can also go back to your previous driver.

If you want faster boot time and performance get yourself an SSD.

See if you can do this:Select "Start" > "All Programs" > "Nvidia Corporation" > "Nvidia Control Panel" > "Control Panel" This will open your Nvidia Control Panel. To the upper left of the window go to "Select a Task", and under that expand "display" by selecting it.Under display select "Manage custom Resolutions" in the window select the "Create" button. This dialogue box will allow you to create a custom resolution for your HDTV video out.I don't know if that will change your monitor's resolution in the same way; however this is a start for you to get going in the right direction. Also here is a Google Page of Links which will take you the Nvidia forums where I'm sure your question can be answered with more authority.http://www.google.com/search?q=nvidia+foru...lient=firefox-aYou can also find out about updating your drivers there as well.Hope this helps!ranger72

I try to keep additional stuff installed by different apps, hardware-related software & drivers to a minimum level.

As you all know default nVidia installation setup installs a lot of stuff most of us may not need. I typically disable 3D drivers (don't game at all) and PhysiX driver. I can't get rid of nVidia audio driver even though I use a separate sound card . Well, I can live with it...

However I do wonder if I actually need the WMI driver. The driver description suggest I do as it's related to communication with displays. Can anyone advise me on that? Can I remove this or is it necessary for proper system operations?
