Microsoft Bluetooth Drivers Don't Work

Q: Microsoft Bluetooth Drivers Don't Work

Hello, I have a Cirago bta-3210 usb bluetooth radio and I had the Toshiba driver stack installed on my desktop but I would always use the windows file transfer wizard or drivers instead. Then I downgraded from SP3 to SP2 and now only the Toshiba Drivers and file transfer utility works. Whenever I try to use the windows file transfer, it just says file couldn't be sent because the connection could not be established. And when I go to the windows bluetooth device manager and go to the hardware tab, nothing shows.

Can you guys help me make the windows bluetooth drivers work again? It's really annoying and complicated to use the toshiba file transfer anyways because even if your phone is paired to you pc, you still have to put it in discovery mode and have to let the program search for the phone instead of picking it off of a list.

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hoping someone might help me with this issue. Have read a multitude of threads but can't find specific answer.

I bought 2 different bluetooth dongles that are allegedly windows 7 compatible.

I install them and it seems to work momentarily before the drivers that come with the device are replaced by the generic bluetooth drivers.

Would someone suggest a solution to preventing the Microsoft drivers from replacing the drivers that the dongle installs?
thanks in advance

I have Windows 8 32-bit Professional running on Motion Computing C5 CFt-001 with a built in bluetooth card/Wifi combo (i guess).

I need to install broadcom or toshiba stack on it to enable bluetooth pairing with my headphones and portable speaker, which right now does not get detected in pairing mode.

I have tried uninstalling the devices from the device manager (Enumerator and Radio) and then renaming the BTF.INF and BTH.PNF files for the windows to let me install drivers and stack of my choice. However whenever I rescan the hardware (after removal of standard builtin drivers) , the old BTH (inf/pnf) files get restored automatically and are selected for the bluetooth installation. Dont know how to circumvent this auto installation.

Can anyone please guide me how to do the needful and also post the download link for the reliable third party bluetooth stack working in Windows 8./8.1

Thanks for your support.

I have a laptop lenovo ThinkPad T420 and I had the OS upgraded from Windows 7 32Bit to Windows 7 64 Bit.

My Microsoft Bluetooth Notebook Mouse 5000 can be detected and is listed as one of the Bluetooth devices, however the mouse does not move.

I did some google-ing to try to trouble-shoot and I tried the following:
Go to the Power Management page and clear the checkbox ?Allow the computer to
turn off this device to save power?. And finally, relief! No more disconnects.
Apparently there is a bug in the power management of the Bluetooth driver
under Windows 7.

But it did not help.

Can someone help me ?

MS Bluetooth Notebook Mouse 5000 not working

Hi Durden,
Went to another site and found a solution that worked. You might want to try it out.
Go to START icon and type in services.msc and select services.
The dialog box that opens has a long list of stuff but look for BLUETOOTH SUPPORT SERVICE. Double click to open. Make sure it is AUTOMATIC. Go to the LOG tab. Choose THIS ACCOUNT and type in LOCAL SERVICE. A list of password (a 15-dot string) would appear. Delete all the password in the PASSWORD and under CONFIRM. Choose Okay.
It will ask you to restart the service. Once restarted, turn on your bluetooth adaptor again. Put your mouse in pairing mode and add the mouse. It works perfectly!!!
Give it a try and see if it helps.

Hey guys,

So i spent the entire day trying to figure out why my Bluetooth installed fine but after one restart it disappeared and it wouldn't come back. I finally figured it out that the FN+F2 (wireless/bluetooth switches) is what enables/disabled it HAHAHAHAHA.

default (after startup): WiFi on / BT off
first time: WiFi on / BT ON yay~!
second time: WiFi off / BT on
third time: WiFi off / BT off

and repeat.

I hope this helps people with their bluetooth issues =)

I've had 8 for a couple weeks now and suddenly running into weird USB and Bluetooth issues.

First, my Bluetooth will not let me uninstall a mouse and when I search for devices it does not find any devices. Used to pick up cell phone. Not anymore.

Second, I plugged in a USB mouse and it installed and worked. Unplugged it and plugged back in, got a message that the device was not recognized. Tried all kinds of things to get it recognized. The usual, Device Manager, drivers, etc.
No USB hot plugging in 8 without screwing things up? Even a mouse?
What the heck?

Several weeks on 8, may go back to 7.

Hi popeye,

I figured one of our fellow forum members would have jumped in to suggest some things by now so let me be the first.

Bluetooth not recognized - Go into device manage and select "show hidden devices" and delete any inactive bluetooth profiles (greyed out with code 45 I believe). Reboot and plug your bluetooth back in and see what happens.

Let's see if this works for starters. Good luck.

Good day..

I have posted something like this up already, but I can't seem to find a solution.

i have a Canyon Bluetooth device.

And this drivers doesn't work with Window 7..

On device manager, it saids it's present, but when i try to send and do things, it's like as if it's NOT there..

i tried using bluesoliels and it worked.. But then the side effect was that there was a BSOD... and if it's the later versions you have to pay..

So I'm just looking for something that could work with the BT device.. to I can connect my phone and do presentations on it.. Instead of having to plug in the cable...

If someone can help, that would be GREAT!

A:BlueTooth drivers

Besides the original BT installation discs, the only decent available solutions nowadays are either the Windows BT stack -- which has very few compatible devices -- or the BlueSoleil suite.

While I've never experienced any BSOD in BlueSoleil -- and I have way over a dozen random BT-enabled devices which I eventually connect to my 64-bit machine, ranging from mouses, keyboards, phones, headsets, home stereo, my car' sound head unit... --, I'm pretty happy with this piece of software.

Anyway, if you aren't willing to spend money on software, I would at least suggest you to try to search Canyon's website for driver updates. Or to search for a new dongle, Win7 compatible out of the box -- which may be cheaper than BlueSoleil.

Here's a list found I've found on MS website:

Hi @Bogoss75 Welcome to the HP Forums! I see that you are having some Bluetooth problems. What are you trying to do with your Bluetooth? A better understanding of your problem will help me find a resolution. Part of the problem could be the fact that there are no HP drivers for your model. There would be no HP drivers for what you are requesting as they are not HP devices but give the steps below a try. Step 1. Go to Device ManagerStep 2. Right click on "Bluetooth Peripheral Device" that you wantStep 3. Select "Update Driver Software..."Step 4. Choose "Browse my computer for driver software"Step 5. Choose "Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer"Step 6. Select "Ports (COM & LPT)"Step 7. Select "Microsoft" at "Manufacturer" listStep 8. Finally select "Standard Serial over Bluetooth link"

A:Uninstalling Bluetooth Drivers

Those Bluetooth peripheral devices are things that have been detected by your Bluetooth adapter, for example mobile phones, tablets, Bluetooth headsets, Bluetooth mice.

For these devices to disappear from the device manager you can turn off Bluetooth by disabling the adapter.

For these devices to be installed properly you may need to be paired with these devices first.

After I used the registry cleaner on Glary Utilities (obviously in hindsight after doing some quick research I wish I hadn't!) I started getting a 'BTTray error'.

The advice I found to deal with this was to uninstall, then reinstall, the Bluetooth drivers.

Unfortunately when I tried to install them the process is halted with the message 'Please plug in or turn on your Bluetooth device.'

(just to add Bluetooth is turned on on the laptop)

Any advice on how to successfully download the drivers would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance for any thoughts / help...

A:Unable todownload Bluetooth drivers...

If it lets you just tell it to finish the installation and then restart your computer. I was able to do that on my old laptop (a Toshiba) and the bluetooth worked fine after.

Just tried connecting via Bluetooth to an LG sound bar .... windows can find the drivers
as an alternative the I tried to connect to a Roberts Radio .... you guessed it, cant find the drivers.
Can some one explain to me why even a cheap mobile phone can connect to any Bluetooth speaker I come across and windows, even though it identifies it as external speaker, can't without loading drivers.

it's very frustrating.

A:Why do we need bluetooth drivers for basic devices

Bluetooth doesn't automatically come with every computer. Bluetooth on Notebooks usually is part of the Wi-Fi adapter, turn Wi-Fi off and Bluetooth will also be off [3 of my Notebooks have it]. Haven't seen Desktops yet that come with Bluetooth but USB adapters are not expensive, got one in 2 Desktops. Drivers for either scenario are required for the adapter and frequently for specific devices so they can be Paired to the computer. Some versions of Windows will have built-in drivers.

A lot Apple's Macintosh computers use Bluetooth. Some versions of Linux have built-in support for Bluetooth on those machines with the adapter.

I have tried updating driver several times but the issue continues even after the network driver was updated. Bluetooth devices are sometimes not getting detected. Even if it gets detected, drivers for the Bluetooth device is failing to get installed.

Trying to set up a coworker's Blackberry 8330 to sync up with her PC via Bluetooth.

Her provider is Verizon.

I've got a KB article off the BB site and it says that the Blackberry Desktop Manager sync software needs to use Native XP BT Drivers that is supplied in SP2. Her PC"s is relatively new and is running XP Pro SP3.

Apparently, in Control Panel there should be a Bluetooth Devices icon, but it isn't there.

I've also checked on my PC that is also XP Pro SP3 and I also don't have a BT icon in control panel.

The BB software won't work with 3rd party BT drivers (I'm using a Trendnet BT adapter that installs Widdcomm drivers) and I need to find a way to get the generic XP drivers.

Where can I find them?

A:Native WinXP Bluetooth Drivers?

This might be a silly question, but the PC does have a bluetooth adaptor connected? I doubt you would see the control panel applet until you connect a device.

Yes, SP2 or later should support bluetooth.

Go to Search and type devmgmt.msc.
Devmagmt will appear below the search box, click on this to open the Device Manager.
When the Device Manager opens look for that same yellow triangle with the exclamation mark in it.
If you find the trouble icon it will probably be in the Network adapters and the adapter should be open.
Click on the Driver tab and uninstall it.
Restart the computer.  A new driver will be installed.

We are trying to set up a bluetooth connection to a blackberry 8330 using a D-Link USB BT Adapter. I know that the BB doesn't do well with 3rd party BT drivers and we should just use the native WinXP BT Drivers. The thing is that there isn't the Bluetooth Configuration icon in control panel like I have on other PC's.

Is there an place that I can download these generic windows BT drivers? or where are they on the system?

We have a hardware independant imaging process that we use to inject model-specific drivers into our base image as part of the deployment process.  Sometimes that means having to get creative in order to extract the drivers from either a working machine or the driver installers.  However, I cannot seem to figure this out for the 840 G3's bluetooth (Intel Wireless Bluetooth 8260).  It would seem that Intel used to post drivers in zip files for 'IT Professionals' but stopped doing so in 2014.  The only way I've managed to get the hardware properly working is to run their installer which kind of defeats the hardware independant bit.  Anyone else come across this and successfully deploying this model?

"This device is not working properly because Windows cannot load the drivers required for this device. (Code 31)".

I had chased down one or two other avenues and got a message saying something like, "Windows update is not configured to download the driver."

Hi jsquareg,

I understand it is causing more issues than when it was not working. Have you checked if in the mouse software has options to disable the button for opening the start menu.

Hello and welcome.
Well, your English was not that bad. I could still follow you basically.

Since you were able to connect the phone to the USB dongle, (correct?) then that means everything should be alright with the phone.

I believe the first thing you may need to do is click "Add a Device" to let them detect & identify each other. Once there is a profile created, then the next time you want to connect maybe click "Allow a Device to Connect." Try that and see if it works.

My daughter recently gave me her old Palm Treo 650 cellphone. Apparently it is too old to "speak" (sync) with Windows 7 64 bit using their software but it can be done using bluetooth. The phone is bluetooth enabled and has an infared port, but my computer is lacking -- something -- to make the connection...what do I need? a USB dongle-thing? Something else?

A:What do I need for bluetooth to work?

Bluetooth is just a connection method. If it can't sync with Windows 7 64-bit using a USB sync cable, that isn't fixed by syncing with Bluetooth. You still need the Palm Desktop software or (maybe?) Outlook (not Windows Mail). If you want to attempt to connect the phone to the computer with Bluetooth, you need a Bluetooth USB dongle for your computer. I've never had much luck with Bluetooth data connections. Given the age of the device, the challenges are magnified.

Acer laptops dont always come with the bluetooth modules installed, there sometimes sold as 'Bluetooth Ready' meaning you can buy an additional module for it. If you have a look for the exact model number underneath, I'll have a look about for you to see if it comes with one already installed.

I bought a new headset. I made it discoverable, Windows found it, but could not find the drivers. I have scoured the internet with no avail. I don't know the company that makes it because its a cheap one, it DOES work with my android so I think it's just a Windows problem. Here is my info:

OS: Windows 7 HP 64bit
Laptop: HP Pavilion DV7-6C50CA
Bluetooth radio: Intel Centrino wireless bluetooth 3.0 driver version

A:Windows 7 cannot find Bluetooth headset drivers.

On windows 7 ultimate x64

I have a Usb wireless card.... I dont have the make and model on me at the moment but when I plug this into a USB socket, Windows 7 picks it up as a bluetooth device (with errors)

I have the drivers on CD but not sure how to install the drivers, as going into device manager thinks its looking for bluetooth drivers.

Any ideas?

Hello Carlos and welcome to the SevenForums.

Try installing the drivers when the USB Card is not connected. Often the installation asks then to connect the device. If it doesn't ask, reboot and connect the card.

Hi Guys,

I've been trying to get this device to work for hours, and no matter what I do, I keep getting a messege saying the device driver software was not succesfully installed.

Under Bluetooh Peripheral Device, it says no drivers found.

Has anyone successfully installed the Belkin's Mini-BT dongle, and if so, can someone give me a step by step, how-to on how to do so?

On my iPhone, under Bluetooth, it says that I'm connected to the PC, but on the PC, it says that the BT device needs trouble shooting, and it won't allow me to transfer any files to the iPhone.

Really, the primary reason I got the BT dongle was so that I could use the iPhone's 3G service as an internet connection when I'm away from home.

I'd appreciate any help.

Have you been using the system-included drivers, or drivers from an installation disc/download? I'm thinking they're not compatible. Are you on 7 64-bit or 32-bit?

EDIT: I see they work on Vista 32-bit and 64-bit, which means they'll work with both versions of 7. Vista drivers should work with 7.
