I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Dear friends,
I have a HP Pavilion DV2845se Verve Entertainment Notebook PC.  I have upgraded from Windows Vista to Windows 7 Home Premium.  I have flashed the BIOS (SP38358.exe) and updated the drivers.  I have been able to occasionally make the sound
work only for it to no longer work upon reboot.  I have attemepted to re-install sound drivers for Windows Vista.  I have attempted to re-install the NVIDIA drivers for NVIDIA nForce System Mgmt Controller as well as NVIDIA nForce PCI System Mgmt.
All to no avail.  The best I can determine is that this is a drive conflict issue.
Any assistance that you can offer would be greatly appreciated.

The Mounting for this heat sink has broken causing the CPU to overheat and shut down. The part # for the fan is 1322-006D0H2 but it seems its no longer recognized?. Can anyone suggest a suitable replacement or can any 3 inch heat sink fan work on this?.Thanks

A:Broken Fan on Heat Sink for Pavillion e9110t

ellander1,The HP e9110t is a CTO (configureable) system, and supports 9 different Intel CPU's.Your dialogue suggests what?  That the CPU mount is broken, not the fan mount. The fan screws into the heatsink with 4 screws. As TheOldMan suggested, the entire kit is available.

Hi guys, New here, hope you can help me and in turn I can help someone someday. OK so ive got a Pavillon detachable X2, which got a bit close to the cooker and the rear got singed. I rescued it just in time, smoke was coming off the back but other than that just a wrinkled rear. The issue is that the laptop got warped so it does'nt fit the keyboard without a little wiggle. How do you split the screen from the rear housing so I can heat it up again and bend it back, using a heat gun? kind regards  Richard

A:HP Pavillion 15 Notebook PC-e061so

Hi: Run this free hardware analyzer that I have zipped up and attached below. Run the file, close the summary window and on the left side of the window, click to expand the Drives section. Then click to expand the sata/atapi drives section. Click on your hard drive name listed there.  The first line will be the Drive Controller spec. It will report the hard drive type running at a certain speed. For example Serial ATA 6 Gb/s @ 6 Gb/s. If your notebook only has a SATA II port, it might report Serial ATA 6 Gb/s @ 3 Gb/s, or Serial ATA 3 Gb/s  @  3 Gb/s.

Hello,I was recently given a pavillion dv9821ea laptop which was in bad shape after being infected with a virus. I eventually had to replace the hard drive and at the same time I upgraded the operating system to windows 7 PRO 64bit. I was unable to save nothing from the origonal hard drive, no drivers, HP software etc and since I installed Windows 7, the laptop seems to have several problems including not downloading Windows updates. I connect it to the HP assistant, but this recognises the laptop and only gives me the choice of Windows Vista as the operating system for which to support drivers etc. I wonder if you could help me by letting me know if there is anywhere I can download Windows 7 pro 64bit drivers for this laptop? my wife and I are both disabled and it would make a great difference to me if I could have full use of this laptop. Regards. Gerald

If you have (and should have) a USB keyboard and mouse connect them and see if they will work.
Since your file system was already corrupted you cloned the bad files to the new drive.
If the USB devices work you should do a Repair Install.
If that doesn't work do this: Using System Recovery, Factory Reset and Minimized Image Recovery Options HP Pavilion dv6-3225dx Entertainment Notebook PC | HP? Support
From this tut:
Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7

On newer models HP Recovery may offer a Minimized OS Recovery option when booting from F11, which retains only the OS, Recovery Manager, HP Support Asst, and HP Wireless LAN. This is as close to a clean reinstall as you can get without doing one yourself.
● If you clean reinstall only to C and leave all other partitions intact, F11 Recovery key should still work later if you need it.
● You can also Extract HP 3rd Party Software from RecovCD.
● Problems with volume control lighting and HP Quick Launch buttons have been dealt with here where you can also get further support.

A:HEAT HEAT HEAT Gateway heat woes

Yes, that converts to a bit over 71 degrees Centigrade... and is getting to the edge of its range... You will have earlier failure.
That model simply does not have the cooling system you need with three of four fans to move the air out.
If you have dogs or cats, clean the guts of the case with Dust Off every week... to remove the dust and hair.
But there isn't much help for you. Lower priced laptops never make good gaming machines.

I recently moved and I have noticed since the move, my computer's Frame rates on various things has become slower and more jumpy. Prior to the move I ran some 3d Mark 03 tests and it was giving me a score between 9500 and 10000. Now it seems the ratings Can't get above a score of 5000.

The room I am in is not much warmer than the one it came from, however I do notice that things get better when I open up the side of the case and put a fan on it.

I don't see why there would be an issue, nothing has changed, just the location.

Hello again I have some heat issues with my PC I have dual HDD s running in my ATX-Midtower eMachines T casing and they seem to be running quite hot First off I installed an air conditioner in my window to cool down the temperature in my room because my room honestly felt like walking into a oven That solved my Heat HDD Issues motherboard CPU temperature problems I ve also installed a rear mm SilenX fan attached to the circular perforated area on the back HDD Heat Issues of my casing near the rear motherboard panel about rpm and I HDD Heat Issues have a full copper Thermaltake heatsink fan on my Prescott GHz P processor about rpm The rear case fan is pulling cold air in next to my CPU fan which is pulling cold air to the CPU and my casing has a grill on the lower area of each side panel with one side panel having another main grill over the CPU fan to allow more air flow Now the only problem I have is my dual HDD arrangement As listed in my quot Computer Specs quot I have one GB master HDD and one GB slave HDD both fitted into the HDD case panel inside my PC Again note this is an ATX-Midtower case and I personally think they are very close to each other and quite far away from any cooling within my PC I was wondering if there was anything I could do to cool my HDD s down These are my current temperature stats according to EVEREST Home Edition Motherboard C CPU C HDD GB C HDD GB C I read that there are HDD cooling fans but I think they are made for only one installed HDD with enough room to attach a fan to it hypothetically within on of the empty drive bays in the case panel Is there any way for me to install any HDD cooling devices for my situation or other HDD cooling advice Thanks in advance nbsp

My system temp keeps going up, When I boot it's around 28-30c but after a few hours it goes all the way to 40-45c or sometimes 50+

What could be causing this?

A:Heat issues

I'm assuming that you're leaving it idle and it just goes up?

Maybe your heatsinks are starting to clog up, causing temps to rise slowly, instead of a quick rise to max temp? Doesn't make too much sense for it to just slowly increase by so much...

I recenlt built a home PC with an AMD athlon XP 2100+ and an ecs k7s5a motherboad. shortly after building the machine, I began having serious heat issues concerning my cpu and Chassis. I changed the cpu fan for a Volcano 9, and have it running it around 5400 -5600 rpm. I also added 2 case fans. (5 1/2" drive bay dual fan, and a rear exhaust fan (2800 rpm) and a side exhaust fan.
The problem persisted. The powersupply voltage is perfect, and so I assumed it was the mb, I switched mb for a soyo dragon ultra kt400. The problem is still persisiting.
The powersupply voltage is fine, but for some reason the case is still heating to such extremes (over 95 degrees) that the cpu can not cool down. properly. I am not overclocking.
Does anyone have any suggestions as to what is heating my system, and what can I do further to cool it down?

I am having issues with my cpu temperate even with 0 load on the cpu and also my cooler did not come with a copper base which I thought was the standard? Or am I mistaken. I finally managed to get Windows XP to install without the PC constantly switching itself off and I`ve removed the cpu and the fan and cleaned and reapplied paste (was I wrong to apply a small amount of paste and spread it across the top of the cpu evenly).

I`m running a PCM61M-AM motherboard with an AMD Athlon 64x2 CPU @ 2.2 GHZ (per cpu), 2 GB memory, a 1GB Graphics Card and a 500GB SATA HD.

I have attached a copy of Core-Temp`s screen grab.

Hey guys, my friend is running his P4 3.2ghz "EM64T capable" machine and its idling at 62*C and loading at about 72-74*C A few weeks earlier it was idling at 42*C which seems right for an Intel. I believe its a prescott core so yeah... He hasn't changed any drivers or anything that could be effecting the bios or Speedfan's temp readings. We reinstalled the heatsink/fan and applied a generous amount of arctic silver 5 to try and help it out a bit. Are these temps way too high? I know the practical limit on these things is 60C. There is no rebooting or hard crashes/BSOD's. What could this be?

During normal usage - browsing the internet, watching videos, browsing forums etc, i see temps around 55-65. In BF1, CPU will sit around 85-90 in a cool 75 degree room. If i don't use a cooling pad, the computer will shut down due to overheating (spiking). all software based hardware tests pass (system support), but it's a bit annoying to have to use a full blown cooling pad. I understand this is a very demanding game.
Is this normal for this machine? my previous i7-6700 laptop ran significantly cooler. I'm wondering if it's worth my time to open it up and check the thermal paste. All fans are also clear of dust and debris, it's a brand new machine.

This could be a hardware heat issue..but this is what I have been experiencing for some time..WMP 11 plays videos o.k., for the most part.. Flash is trash. Youtube starts out cracking and stalling for the first 30 seconds (until it buffers thru)..then it plays smooth (although not always..sometimes video/audio speeds up and down in response to CPU usage)..they played fine all year long..
At the first sign of trouble, I noticed that the fans underneath the sound card was plugged w/dust..I really need to clean that more often. The last day that audio/video worked fine was the day before Youtube was under construction..I watched videos while the site was under construction..I've been thru drivers, devices, etc..Another weird thing is that sometimes everything plays smooth..although not often enough.

The boot time tripled too..?

This machine overheats rapidly. I have to fight tooth and nail to get it to play a game for more than an hour without a major slowdown. I googled the problem and discovered that some shortsighted person had complained about a noisy cooling fan in my model's predecessors. My theory: Somebody listened and replaced the noisy cooling fan with one that quietly fails to cool the machine. Question: Is there any way to amp up the cooling fan, or upgrade it with a more powerful version? Please, no remarks about buying cooling pads. I am already aware of that option but it is a last resort. Inadequate cooling systems are inexcusable in a laptop. For owners of similar machines, this one apparently lacks the HP Omen control center, and thus I can't adjust cooling fan speed that way.

On top of this, my system cooling is not the best in the world, so heat is also a major issue.

All comments appreciated,

Open Task Manager while at idle, go to Processes tab to see what is running your CPU so heavy.
As for the heat, laptops run hot anyway but what temp are you at @idle & @load?
Make sure it has enough air flow around the fan(s) and the exhaust panels. Flip it over and check for dust build-up (you may need to remove some panels to clean it out).

I have had a desktop PC for 1 year, with an i7 4790 cpu, (not the K model) with the Intel stock cooler. I use Core temp to monitor CPU temperatures. I soon found out that anything intensive, took the temperature to above 80 C sometimes flirting with 90. I gather from various hardware forums that this is quite normal with the stock cooler. I was thinking of getting a better cooler but before that I have just tried turning off Turbo Boost in the BIOS. Imagine my surprise when a math benchmark I had written (Freebasic, repeated iterations of y = square root of x) is now running the CPU up to only 60-65 (steady for 30 minute runs) and the performance is only around 3% slower. I am quite pleased with this, not least because the Smart Fan is now keeping the machine super quiet.

A:WHEA-Logger events - why am I getting these? Also, heat issues

High temps on most of the stuff - but it's not critically high.
If you live in a house without air conditioning in Norfolk, VA, USA this is probably normal due to the high temps and humidity at this time of year. If it's Norfolk in the UK, then that probably isn't the case.

Try aiming a house fan into the open case to see if that brings the temps down. If it does, then you'll need more work on airflow and fans within your case. A long time ago I got a 3? C decrease by putting a blowhole and fan in the top of my case.

The WHEA-Logger error is mentioning a Machine Check Exception. This is an error that's transmitted by your CPU to Windows. They're not easy to debug, but you can figure them out. Have a look at this post for some things to check:

When you opened the laptop to install the new HDD on it, did you see any signs of cummulated dust on the fans, or on the laptop in general? a can of compressed air would be the best choice here.. Of course, this is if the problem is heat related, which to me it sound like it.

Boot issues sound like a bad hard drive. While you have it mounted in the enclosure try connecting to another system and running a chkdsk /r on it.
The rest sounds like a bad motherboard or bad RAM.
Without the hard drive attached, what happens when you turn on the system? Try booting with one RAM stick, a different one each time, in different slots. See if anything changes.

The easiest fix for your problem is to call HP parts, give them the exact model and serial number of your machine and order a set of recovery discs. A set of recovery discs will bring the machine back to original configuration.

Hi, guys! I have problems with my laptop - HP Beats Special Edition 15-p003er (ENERGY STAR). I had my laptop in a service center, but manager told me that PC doesn't have any problems, but I can't use it. It's my secont laptop, service has changed it, first one had the same problem like this (system get stuck all the time, it has strange noise inside, it turns off when it want, sometimes screen becomes blue), but service doesn't want to change it and they have no reaction about it. They told me that PC was checked with some program and it showed no problems. I dont' know what to do, I captured videos and voice memos for showing that PC is broken. Advice me what to do and how to change PC or get my monet back.

So I just purchased a new notebook and am already very disappointed. This aren't any recovery disks. Yes, I know it is on the Hard Drive, but who wants to have to make your own copy? Then there is the issue that I did not get my OEM key code for the operating system. Normally you get the little certificate so if there are issues later and you need to do a clean install or even upgrade, you will have what you need. How can I get my code?

I have a Bellagio laptop that runs windows xp. The system is a mix of German OS and American software. It has 220 power but can handle 110 or 230. My problem is that I am in Kuwait and I had it plugged in to a local power supply. I put it into standby mode using windows xp. I woke up in the morning, (no more than about 4 hours) and my computer was unplugged. I tried to turn my laptop and nothing. I have taken out the battery and put it back in and still nothing. Help, as this laptop has some information I need at work.

You don't say what browser you are using and you don't say where you are watching videos. Is it Youtube or someplace else? Regardless, the Real Player downloader doesn't work anymore so you'll have to find something else. I like to use Firefox to download videos and you can try out extensions and see which one you like.

Last Christmas I bought a HP Notebook - 15-af131dx Windows 10 and I'm having for a while now some random issues with it. Sometimes when I start typing on my Yahoo email or on some various forums the cursor freezes suddenly with the non-responding message and starts beeping. Also I experience some delays when I click on ta website to access some information and sometimes it jumps randomly to other pages on that site. The fan also keeps running loudly most of the time when I'm on the web. I've ran various anti-virus scans "Avast, Malwarebytes, Eset Online Scanner", I've also ran a complete diagnostic but couldn't find anything wrong.

I hope you can give me some advices and help to resolve those issues.

Thanks and have a nice day,

Firstly, my DVD player refuses to play DVD's - it just spits them out after a while.

Secondly, my internet connection drops out reguarly - going to 'local' only. I have to disconnect connection, and then reconnect for it to work.

A:Two issues with my Satellite Pro notebook

It will be interesting to know which notebook model do you have.

Anyway, after reading this one sentence problem description it is not easy to say much about DVD issue.
Have you noticed the same problem using several original DVD movies?
Have you tried to clean up the ODD lens?

Connection? You are writing about WLAN connection, right?

Simply don't use the 6 cell. If you really need a back-up, buy another 12 cell.

My friend has the v2000 notebook and I think the cables from the LCD screen became loose because the picture fuzzes up and the colours become disfigured.

I can easily take apart and build a desktop, but I have never dissected a notebook and wouldn't know where to start. Any idea of what wires are loose and any ways for me to properly reattach them?

A:Notebook LCD connection issues

There's usually a ribbon cable that connect the screen to the laptop motherboard. Google the notepad model with the term "repair manual" or "remove screen" and see if you can get a walkthrough on taking that bad boy apart. BE VERY CAREFUL, it's not worth doing without a manual/tutorial. I made the mistake of that and ended breaking two parts of the case.

I've been having problems with this computer since August, and it's about time I reach out to the internet community. If you have any questions that could help you solve this issue, PLEASE don't hesitate to ask. Posting on the video itself is probably the quickest way to get ahold of me.

A:HP Notebook - Headphone Issues

Try this (pasted from another forum - same problem as yours):

Go to Control Panel
click on Hardware and Sound
click on Sound
Your sound devices should come up ; speakers, Digital Audio, and headphones
plug your headphones in
then select headphones
at the bottom it will say "set as default"
select that.

Now when you disconnect your headphones it automatically switches to the speakers and when you plug them back in it automatically will switch to headphones.

If that fixes your problem, I can't take any credit for it. I only pasted it here.

It's been awhile since I installed my last CPU -

I just bought a P4. The instructions for mounting
the heat sink (& fan) do not refer to using any
type of (I can't think of the word) that white
compound I used last time to give good thermal
conductivity from the cpu to the heat sink.

Is that stuff not used any more?

If it is, what do I call it and where would I get some?

A:Use "heat transfer" compound between P4 & heat sink?

If you got a retail version cpu, that comes with the heatsink/fan, it likely has a "thermal pad" built in, so it wouldn't need thermal interface material. So if you got a little square of something on the bottom of the heatsink, that's all you need, but if not, just a bare heatsink, put some thermal material on it. IIRC, my retail p4 had a little square that looked like a piece of aluminum stuck on the heatsink, which is a thermal pad.

A:Aspireone notebook booting issues

I am not sure how the battery access is on the Aspire One but if you can remove the main battery detach it and unplug the computer if the power brick is attached. Hold the power button down for 30 seconds. Replace the battery and attach the power brick. Try booting.
It's possible the file system has been corrupted by a failing drive. You can boot a linux based disk to do hard drive diagnostics if the computer can boot from a USB flash drive. The computer has no optical drive, correct?
How much RAM does this computer have? Do you have a model number for the Aspire One?
You can use Rufus with an iso of UBCD to check your hard drive. Seatools for DOS is available in the HDD section or you can start Parted Magic from the UBCD menu and at the desktop select Disk Health. Do the short and long tests.
Rufus Instructions:
Run Rufus with the USB flash drive attached. Select MBR partition scheme for BIOS and UEFI. Leave all boxes as checked. Where FreeDos is shown in the dropdown box select iso image, click the icon, and browse to the UBCD iso file. Press Start. Any data on the flash drive will need to be backed up as the drive will be formatted.
You can use Parted Magic on the UBCD disk to recover any data to a USB flash drive or USB external drive.

Hello. I bought an HP Notebook (Product key: P6L84PA#ACJ) last month. It is  a free-DOS system and I installed Ubuntu version 16.04LTS in it. Everything works fine except the wifi. The keeps on connecting and disconnecting continuously, making it impossible for me to use wifi on it, and I use the net via USB Tethering. A friend has the same laptop, and the same issue, but she has a dual-booted system where wifi works perfectly fine with windows. Please help me as I have no option other than installing Ubuntu/Fedora. Also please guide if Fedora-24 is compatible with my laptop?
