Unknown Hardware Fault. Maybe HDD related, maybe not?

Q: Unknown Hardware Fault. Maybe HDD related, maybe not?

Hi I m having some issues with my PC and i am not sure what is wrong i have exhausted what knowledge i have to be honest A couple of weeks ago i was using my HDD related, Fault. Hardware maybe not? Unknown Maybe PC same as always and i got a crash i dont remember the exact nature Unknown Hardware Fault. Maybe HDD related, maybe not? now but Unknown Hardware Fault. Maybe HDD related, maybe not? i restarted the PC and when i did i was greeted with a black screen with a flashing cursor when i tried to boot I fiddled around with my hard drive configuration at this point disabling one then the other to see if Unknown Hardware Fault. Maybe HDD related, maybe not? i could get the GRUB loader to appear This didnt work but when i put both drives back in as they were before i could access GRUB again but it would throw up error Makes sense i messed around with the drive positioning so grub would be a bit confused It s from this point that things went really wrong I used a LIVE ubuntu CD to try and repair grub but found that my GB HDD was actually inaccessible due to a bad superblock Further inspection showed that both my HDD s were showing some level of corruption I ran SEATOOLS on both my drives in the hopes that at least an error code would get me an RMA The GB drive passed fine first time The GB drive did not it failed the long test due to some corrupt LBA s that it corrected It has passed the long test twice now without error I decided at this point just to cut my losses reformat the drives and start over This went relatively painlessly and once i was setup in ubuntu i got a reminder that my HDDs were failing This feature is notoriously over sensitive though so i investigated further The GB drive had reallocated sectors that were not present before and the GB drive has pending sector rewrites as well as uncorrectable errors also not present before I have been monitoring the drives since and there has been no increase in damage over the last couple of weeks I assume they both took some damage in the crash but have no idea how My issues now have become more pronounced In windows my mouse will slow down under periods of heavy usage and freeze or lag a lot Sometimes i boot up and my USB devices kb mouse wif dish need to be reconnected before windows will detect them When the mouse is lagging the computer also slows to an absolute crawl and becomes unusable whilst this is occuring Performance in d games has plummeted too my fps jumps widly from the maximum amount i know i should be getting all the way down to around a quarter of its full speed So what has happened My operating systems are both on the GB drive the one i figured had taken the least amount of damage I cant RMA these drives without a seatools code so am stuck with them for a while besides if the manufacturers tool passes them fine then they cant be that damaged right Are all the problems indicitive of hard drive errors I m thinking whatever caused my drives to frazzle in the first place might be responsible here All help appreciated sorry for long post nbsp

Preferred Solution: Unknown Hardware Fault. Maybe HDD related, maybe not?

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/directdownload.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Update:

Tried extracting an archive on the 250GB drive, went at 16MB/s, lagged my computer out like crazy and i had to forcibly close the extraction. Copied the files to my 320GB (copied at full speed btw) and extracted there at 40MB/s with no impact on my PC performance whatsoever.

Seems fairly obvious then that my 250GB is simply screwed? Is there anything i can do here? SMART only shows 34 reallocated sectors out of 36 that were available for remapping leaving 2 spare sectors still, it should not be behaving like this, should it?

Can anyone help please?

Thanx

A:Solved: Graphics fault but could it be virus related?

sounds like your original driver got corrupted.

After you removed it, youll need to reinstall the graphics driver. Windows will keep reconizing new hardware becuase there is no driver loaded.

What type of computer is it? A home built or pre-made.. ie HP, Compaq, dell??

If you now your computer name/model that will help... better yet if you know what type motherboard.

post any info on the system you can come up with and someone here will try to find a place online for you to download the drivers.

You will not be able to set your screen res back to normal untill you reinstall this driver.

I run Windows XP HE and get the blue screen of death and a message that my PHYSICAL memory is dumping to disk. I then see numbers ascending, I just switch off, this is the only way I can escape !

Every time I reboot it checks the disks for errors but gets ALMOST all the way through then HANGS. To overcome this I simply reboot again and it is ok.

I am worried that this DUMPING PHYSICAL MEMORY TO DISK will keep happening. Maybe even when I am away from my pc with disastrous results. It just suddenly happens with no warning. I no longer feel I can just leave my pc on unless I am watching it all the time. Very frustrating with broadband

In addition when I boot up I get an error message that the CPU is unworkable, hitting F1 gets me in ok.

A:Is it a hardware fault or O/S ?

Sounds like you have some serious hardware issues.

The "dumping physical memory to disk" is fine, all its doing is recording to disk a copy of the contents of the memory, for use by a Tech in diagnosing the problem (maybe...)

Its not harmful, its just writing a file.

Sounds like you need some physical hands on Tech Service on the PC though.

A:Hardware Wizard Wants To Setup Unknown Hardware

You might want to look at the Device Manager to see what type of device it is listed under. To access this follow these instructions:

Right Click MY COMPUTER
Select PROPERTIES
Click HARDWARE tab
Select DEVICE MANAGER
See what the Device Manager recognizes the device as.
Go to Dell.com and seach up the drivers for your computer.
If nothing else works, try installing all the drivers, Windows will tell you if the driver will work or not. Good luck and post results plz.

Let me put this way I have a medium-ranged machine that can support pretty much all bad Cause hardware acting Good Unknown like hardware. major applications and games out there With the exception of those high-end games that have recently released However for some unknown reason there have been games in wich i have had a few issues Here s what s constantly happening - Whenever i look at more graphically detailed areas in certain games the entire response time slows down The game runs slow basically And of course if i move my mouse to areas that are not as detailed it all responds flawlessly Good hardware acting like bad hardware. Unknown Cause during those few seconds - And now for the strangest part Whenever i m in servers with alot of people the issues mentioned above tend to happen very frequently and of course when i m in Good hardware acting like bad hardware. Unknown Cause servers with - people or so Good hardware acting like bad hardware. Unknown Cause the issues mentioned above never happen I have no idea why this has been happening I Cleaned my computer properly I do virus checks every now and then I have recently de-fraged my Hard Drive I Clean up cookies temporary files etc Here s what i think It most certainly isn t the graphics card s problem as even when i put my settings in games all on the lowest ones possible this includes resolution I still have the issues mentioned above But that s just a guess I m not sure what could be doing this CPU maybe The fact that my Computer s drive is nearly at it s maxed capacity I tend to install alot of things could a nearly filled hard-drive be causing this Internet Connection I m running out of answers Would a complete Hard-Drive Format help Thank You nbsp

Hello Right now I BSOD: Fault ?? Hardware am trying my best to keep my laptop running while I am posting this thread I have been victimized by relentless blue screens which I suspect is a result of some hardware problem I initially thought this was a Windows and or Virus problem BSOD: Hardware Fault ?? I posted a thread as well http forums techguy org virus-oth -extreme-system-slowdown-blue-screens htm l but I recently formatted and reinstalled Windows but the blue screens keep coming back I am using IBM Thinkpad R a model so pretty old by now It runs Intel Centrino GHz proc GB IDE hard disk it initially came with MB RAM but I upgraded it to GB Windows XP SP Here are the problems I am facing since last one month Extreme system slowdown while running two or MS Office files or Outlook or even two tabs on Google Chrome The mouse pointer tends to get stuck while moving on the screen as if my system is busy even when Task manager shows system usage between to times I face a slowdown I end up with a blue screen it mostly says something like A critical process thread has been stopped to stop further damage and a few error codes are X F X X A F DA X A C C X A CB C though the error codes change every time Also at times I get a blue screen while boot up that says Unmountable Disk and while running Windows I see Unknown Hard Error I showed my laptop to someone and he predicted that the MB RAM was causing the trouble and took it out but it still did not solve the problem The problem occurs instantly if I move my laptop from my desk to another location i e the moment I move it I get a blue screen I did run a memtest and it returned no errors Can anyone please help me figure out what s the problem I am living with it for more than a month now and its frustrating Thanks nbsp

A:BSOD: Hardware Fault ??

If moving it causes that kind of issue - I'd be looking at loose connections. DVD drive connection, AC adapter connections, Hard Drive connections.

Sorry for writing a novel as a first post It all started with my PC running slow on the gaming frontier I forked out for a new gig stick of RAM and all was well until my PC had random complete shutdowns Entire power off no warning nothing like oldschool pc shutdowns bam off so I had a look inside the case to see fault locating Need hardware help if there was anything obvious like if I had bumped something but I accidentally hit the voltage switch and blew the PSU Next day I got a new off the shelf Need help locating hardware fault Thermaltake w everything was fine again until I started getting screen garble Big Florescent pink and green lines on a white back ground with an offset square where the mouse was So I tinkered with graphics settings and all but it still continued So next day I bought a new Radeon X Pro I don t have a question I m just bragging lt Kidding Need help locating hardware fault gt I threw in an old Gb HDD at the same time as the Vid card and again all was going well until I started playing UT and the sound goes funkadelic three distinct different tones repeating over and over I shut down the PC at the PSU and Need help locating hardware fault restart but it wont go further than post It comes through with Clockspeed and memory count but wouldn t go further I disconnected the old HDD and it went past post and seems fine The real question is Where could the real fault be and the point of origin What could I have done to the machine could the PSU have spiked other hardware Why would the HDD work fine until put under heavy access Are there likely to be any further faults Has anyone had this happen before nbsp

A:Need help locating hardware fault

1. Where could the real fault be, and the point of origin?: Well you replaced everything apart from the motherboard and RAM so they would be your best bets. Download memtest and test your RAM for a while with it. Not the Windows version but the DOS version. I think it is on Hirens boot CD. Also on the Ultimate boot CD wich you should be able to find through google

2. What could I have done to the machine, could the PSU have spiked other hardware?

Did you insult your computer or look at it **** eyed? It is not likely that the PSU spiked the hardware but it is more possible that the amount of amps that came through the PSU was to much for the rest of the components to handle

3. Why would the HDD work fine until put under heavy access?

Well the harddrive is a mechanical object. The more you push it the harder it works. The harder it works the more likely it is apparent to develop problems but this would only happen with a damaged or extremely old harddrive

4. Are there likely to be any further faults?

Well it is still not working correctly so you still have problems. The fact that that the motherboard beeps is an indication that something is upsetting your BIOS. It is quite possible that the motherboard is damaged. Or at least that your computer is overheating

5. Has anyone had this happen before?

I have had all of these problems but not all at once. Now this is a novel

It looks to me that you have done a very thorough job of fault diagnosis and i agree with your conclusion that the fault could well be with the CPU.

I sometimes spend a long time diagnosing certain faults on a PC/Laptop. Is it RAM, HDD, Mobo etc etc, until I pin down the exact faulty piece of a computer. I have been looking into diagnostic kits to try and save me some time, They seem to vary in price from 30-1500. They all claim to be able to diagnose the exact hardware fault of a PC or laptop. My questions are, does anyone have any experience of these kits, if so do they actually work? And can anyone recommend a particular brand/model?

A:Serious problem - is it a hardware fault or software ?

Sounds like the computer is not booting of the CD. You need to go into the BIOS setup when the computer first turns on, usually press F2 or DEL, and find the Boot Order. Make sure the Boot Order has the CD-ROM in the sequence before the hard drive. Then save and exit. Now when the computer starts with the XP CD in the drive it should come up and ask you to press any key to boot off the CD which is what you want to do. Then follow the onscreen instructions. You will probably want to do a new/clean install of XP so you will want to format the drive when asked.

Here's some installation guides:

Hi

Was getting the following error: "Hardware ID Missing, Windows cannot identify the device plugged into the ATA Controller 0"

To date I have carried out the following actions with no success:

1. Removed DVD and re-connected
2. Deleted ATA Controller 0 in Manage Device Manager and rebooted
3. Installed the latest driver and rebooted
4. Removed all motherboard connections and re-connected
5. Purchased replacement DVD drive and replaced

The DVD opens/closes correctly. When I boot into BIOS the DVD is present but listed as this in the Boot Menu:

CD/DVD \S[TKozp)CLD^D_ \S-L>3:H(-(PM)

God only knows what that means, but could be a good clue!!!

If anyone could please help it would be appreciated, many thanks in advance..

Hi folks My brother s computer recently bit the dust while he was at work much to my chagrin he leaves it hardware fault of BSODs assumed...? Variety - running almost continuously for no particularly reason Variety of BSODs - hardware fault assumed...? and in trying to fix it I ve uncovered various BSODs which come and go but invariably full XP refuses to load It dies either whilst loading or when you attempt to log in Safe mode boots but only after I already tinkered with a few things The spec is as follows Athlon FX GB RAM Leadtek GT GB Maxtor Asus A V Initially the computer wouldn t boot to XP at all but having disabled all but two of the USB ports underclocked the CPU multiplier to x and unplugged the DVD drive a CD writer remains safe mode now seems largely stable I was able to run a disk defrag but when networking is enabled it BSODs I ve run memtest and it comes up negative for errors I it continuously overnight and apparently no problems Some of the BSODs are NDIS sys nv mini sys USBPORT sys Haven t seen USBPORT sys since disabling most of the usbs and NDIS seems to be the most common cause combined with the added instability of network safe mode could the onboard LAN be at fault Otherwise I m suspicious it might be a PSU problem as this would explain the variety of errors and apparently unfaulty RAM Looking in the BIOS setup the VCORE seems to be fluctuating a little but having never checked before I don t know if this is normal The readings are as follows VCORE V -- gt V V -- gt V V -- gt Any suggestions as to how I might further test anything would be much appreciated Many thanks nbsp

i'm having trouble with a Dell Inspiron 600m laptop. when i try to start it, i get a blue screen with the error "PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA", etc.

i can't get it to boot fully to a desktop screen in normal mode or in safe mode. so i dont have a HJT log or any other log. is it possible this is a malware/trojan issue or is it a RAM problem?

i am able to get to the windows log-in box but then it briefly (1 or 2 seconds) shows the desktop and i get the error message above.

thanks.

A:atikmdag fault - is this software or hardware? + am I covered under warranty?

The ATI driver that is being blamed in the error pop up is for your graphics card but it could mean that your card is failing.

When you say "I rebuild my laptop every 30 days" what exactly do you do and what software are you using.

Windows and all Anti Virus software can be set to automatically update so you should not need to check either of them.

Follow this to post a few of the latest minidumps from the BSOD's so they can be analysed.

First locate your minidump files, they are usually found by clicking on your C: drive, in windows explorer, then click on Windows to view the contents. If your operating system is installed under a different drive letter then look there. They should be stored under a file called minidump. The files will have a .dmp extension.
Zip up at least 6 of the most recent files into one zip folder and save on your desktop (if there are less then just zip up what you have).
Below the reply box click on Go Advanced. Then scroll down until you see a button, Manage Attachments. Click on that and a popup-window opens.
Click on the Browse button, find the zip folder you made earlier and doubleclick on it.
Now click on the Upload button in the popup. When done, click on the Close this window button.
Enter your message-text, then click on Submit Message.Click to expand...

Hi, and thank you for taking your time to help me

So each night I take my computer along with monitors etc. out of the power plug in the wall.
When I but the power plug back in to start the computer up, my keyboard instantly powers on, the same goes with my two monitors.
When I then turn on the computer nothing really happens. All of the fans and lights turn on (The MoBo fan spins insanely), but nothing comes on the monitor screen. The monitors keeps searching for a unit but won't find the computer.

Sometimes after waiting a few minutes the screen suddenly shows the startup of windows and I can use it normally.

I think it's an hardware related problem but I'm not entirely sure.
I use windows 10.

Hope you can help me

A:Computer Freezing for a short time (Hardware Fault)

Identical problem here.. hard drive light goes solid and pc just stops for 1 min, still able to move the mouse cursor but cannot slect anything or alt-tab etc. Any alt tab or double clicking is cached up and then all fired off at once when the minute freeze is up.

I'm pretty certain now it's down to my Asus P5K-E motherboard (which is what I assume the original poster has)

I'm looking towards M/Board now as I have swapped drives and changed CPU from Q6600 to Q8200 also switched from Vista 32bit to Win7 64bit and still get the issue.

I alleviated it for a while by switching my SATA 300 drive down to 150 mode by setting the jumpers.

Have flashed the P5K to the latest bios with no joy.

Full specs are..
Q8200 Quad
Asus P5K-E Wifi Premium
500GB Samsung SATA300
4GB Ram
lightscribe 20x DVDRW
Sony Bluray Drive (installed after problem had already appeared)
2 x ATI HD3870's in crossfire config.
Windows 7 64bit / WinXP dual boot.

it firefox wont stay open,

try this, (not a full fix but it will stop the program from closing)
right click on the firefox shortcut icon

then go to ptoperties then click on the tab that says compatability

then run in compatability mode of windows 98.
this should stop it from closing
(not 100%sure if windows 2000 has this.)
i used windows 2000 for aout a week then decided it sucks and went to windows xp.

(windows 2000 always crashed when i would have 2 games running at the same time)

now with windows xp, i can do a msonfig tweak and registry edit
and i can now run battlefield 1942, and starwars jedi academy at the same time with no problem

ive been experiencing need identifying part fault; help the random hardware BSODs, suspected random BSODs since some - weeks first just a few came random BSODs, suspected hardware fault; need help identifying the part up then suddenly stopped for more than a random BSODs, suspected hardware fault; need help identifying the part week and then started again i have done lots of HDD RAM amp video memory checks and neither indicated any damage to these parts but since the BSODs are all memory-related i random BSODs, suspected hardware fault; need help identifying the part suspect it to be the CPU memory controller or something between the CPU and the RAM or maybe the chipset or the connection between the RAM slots and the motherboard one symptom that is very special is that occasionally usually right after a crash one of my RAM modules doesnt get detected anymore of course i tried reseating them both using just one in each slot and using totally different RAM modules just to exclude the chance that the RAM modules or one of the two slots became defective regarding the BSODs the majority is error B with atikmdag sys however after having completely removed all AMD software and drivers and registry keys and installed a previous version of CCC and the GPU driver which used to work perfectly before having installed the most recent one beta and before the BSODs started to occur the BSODs reoccured so it definitely is not related to the GPU drivers but they just seem to be the first to suffer from the errors my suspicion regarding the CPU memory controller or something on the motherboard is strenghtened by the fact that this notebook has always had major heat issues due to its internal design just one fan and suboptimal placement of the hottest parts inside so i fear the heat might have caused damage mostly around - C sometimes when stressed very much like during gaming the CPU throttles when reaching C and the GPU when reaching C ive been cleaning the inside of the notebook regularily each - weeks since ive gotten it years ago and already repasted the CPU amp GPU times about months in between last time was end of may which may suggest that something went wrong last time i did the repasting job usually after repasting the temps went down noticeably and only after some - months i needed to blow the inside and maybe clean it a bit for the first time the specs are following windows ultimate bit sp custom freshly installed right after purchase so no OEM OS and no upgrade HP Envy D ea notebook i qm ATI mobility radeon gb kingston hyperx ram x gb seagate momentus xt gb HD i know there is almost certainly no hope for this notebook anymore but since there is no real alternative i would be willing to buy at the moment i would like to keep it alive for some additional months if anyhow possible then id go for a HP zbook mobile wirkstation so maybe if we can narrow the issue down to a single part i might be able to buy this exact part and replace it if eg a new CPU would do it just to prolong the notebook for these months this would be great btw the notebook is not completely dead now i am writing this thread from it and i can mostly avoid any BSODs by just not stressing it too much by browsing too many windows tabs etc surprisingly when gaming it only crashed once so i think the stress and heat that gaming produces is not the right one to produce the errors but having several browser windows open and eg a youtube video this almost certainly crashes after a while i am uploading the jcgriff folder perfmon report and additionally most of the minidumps ive saved from the last weeks so you can see that it is not restricted to a specific driver there you can also see the dates of the minidumps and how there was a gap with no errors for more than a week note i have no full memory dumps because of limited space on my primary partition why i neither have system managed page file on my c partition if really needed i can turn it on temporarily so a full memory... A:random BSODs, suspected hardware fault; need help identifying the part

although i am quite sure this is a hardware issue, not a software/driver one, ive been running the driver verifier for some time now, and got some BSODs, so i am uploading them here now as well.

though as already said, i doubt this will help further, since the BSODs i get do not always recognize a driver, sometimes its just memory fault with no service identified, or in rare cases the system just turns off without a blue screen.

note: ive had the driver verifier select all installed drivers automatically, and not just non-microsoft ones, since quite often system kernel files such as win2k.sys are the ones mentioned in the BSOD.

Ok
Windows XP
512 ram 80 GB HD or so

Computer worked great for like 2 years. Then had a problem that I fixed with microsoft windows recovery console.

Then about 3 weeks later the computer broke down again, this time, it seemed more complicated.

I got problems saying something was wrong with system32/drivers/ntfs.sys

When trying to boot from CD:

- "setupdd.sys could not be loaded. The error code is 4. Setup cannot continue. Pres any key to exit"

-An unexpected error (536805376) occured at line 176 in d:\xpclient\base\boot\setup\arcdisp.c.
----

No idea where to start. Could it be a problem with the physical hard disk or physical memory? Where do I go from here.

BTW I do not have any other RAM or HD that I can plug into this comp to test it out.

Thanks a lot in advance for whatever help you can provide.

A:bsod related to hardware??

Well got no idea what all that stuff means, but you need to find a way of isolating the problem, so start by removing/disconnecting unessential components, such as the Optical drive, secondary HDDs and any extra memory modules (you only need one).
Then if you have more than one memory module try them out one by one and see if it helps.

If you still have a problem, swap out the PSU for one you know works. If you still have problems then its time to really get your hands dirty and do the following:

1.remove the components from the case and lay them on a flat non metallic surface.
2. make sure you are still only using the essential components: Motherboard, processor, 1 stick of memory, HDD and PSU.
3. Switch on the machine by shorting out the power switch pins on the motherboard.
4. Swap out the remaining components 1 at a time until the problem stops. You will already have eliminated the PSU and memory at this point, so try the HDD and processor next, if its still a problem then its almost cirtainly your motherboard.

If you need any help swapping out parts and assembling/disassembling the PC see the animations on my site here: www.pcityourself.com/building

My PC has been giving me the BSOD be to hardware related BSOD unlikely but unfortunately at times when I'm not present so I'm not entirely sure what the cause could be I've had bsod of death in the past due to faulty RAM which I figured out using MemTest However I've ran BSOD unlikely to be hardware related this and Prime successfully for over an hour so I think that these bsods are not due to faulty hardware I haven't installed any new hardware recently but I did re-install a driver for my Belkin F D v wireless dongle However I did this to try and eliminate another problem with my broadband dropping out I've since discovered that this is due to my ADSL line and so not to do with the dongle The driver was exactly the same driver as when my PC was stable so I can't see a reason why it would be this The other thing to note drivers-wise is that I can't seem to find a driver to get rid of two yellow exclamation marks in device manager These are to do with a Belkin bluetooth dongle that I have F T which you will probably see in one of the attached files However I have never been able to get rid of these so these have been there while my pc was stable before Anyway I've followed the instructions on http www techsupportforum com f ns- html I would appreciate if an expert could figure out what's going on Here's some basic info about my pc Self-built pc Vista x System and OS age around years CPU Intel Q GFX GeForce GTS Mobo Abit IP pro PSU Corsair HX Series W Many thanks

No BSOD info in the upload, or in the MSINFO32 file.
Please follow these directions to capture the memory dumps:

Quote:

Upload Dump Files:
Please go to C:\Windows\Minidump and zip up the contents of the folder. Then upload/attach the .zip file with your next post.
Left click on the first minidump file.
Hold down the "Shift" key and left click on the last minidump file.
Right click on the blue highlighted area and select "Send to"
Select "Compressed (zipped) folder" and note where the folder is saved.
Upload that .zip file with your next post.

If you have issues with "Access Denied" errors, try copying the files to your desktop and zipping them up from there. If it still won't let you zip them up, post back for further advice.

If you don't have anything in that folder, please check in C:\Windows for a file named MEMORY.DMP. If you find it, zip it up and upload it to a free file hosting service (not RapidShare as the analysts usually can't download from it) - then post the link to it.
Then, follow the directions here to set your system for Minidumps (much smaller than the MEMORY.DMP file): http://www.carrona.org/setmini.html

Hi to all this is my first post , I will like to see if someone can tell if this is a Hardware or Software related?

I went to my sister house and she told me the computer do not boot up and when we try it again the screen displayed in small letters "no sistem imput"

can someone help me to find out the problem?

A:Hardware or Software related?

Most likely cause is a failed hard drive. If the computer is three years old, or more, or has a Quantum, Maxtor, or silver colored Western Digital drive, that is the problem most of the time.
Luckily you can now get large drives cheaply at www.newegg.com, www.zipzoomfly.com, www.directron.com, www.outpost.com, www.TigerDirect.com, and many others.
Do you have the install disc set that will be needed.
If you have valuable data that will need to be recovered, that can SOMETIMES be done, but that is a separate question.

Hi guys,

I need some short and straight-forward answers for these question at this step.
Thank you all very much in advance for the answers. :

1- How is a bit stored on RAM or HDD? I mean, there should be some units like a box to be used for storing a bit whether that bit is 1 or 0. If so, what is the name of such boxes? Are they named flip-flop?

2- How is a virtual CPU used and what is the hyper-threading?

3-What is a cache? What is its levels for (L1, L2, L3)? Is a cache visible? Can CPUs work without a cache? And how do I be able to see the memory size of my computer?s CPU cache?

4- Do ROMs exist nowadays? If not, what instead of them?

5- Is there something named ?Flash Dish??! (I haven't heard this!)

6- What is a cluster in a HDD?

Here's my problem. I have a Dell Dimension 5150, I'm using an iKey usb keyboard loaned to me because my regular keyboard died. An hour ago I got a virus (Yay, team Stopzilla) and decided, okay, I'll just reformat my hard drive and run a clean slate. But...BUT...when I turn off the computer and try to go into the bios, the machine won't recognize the keyboard until Windows XP is running! I cannot get into my bios! Any suggestions? I need help FAST!

A:Xp-related Hardware Issue?

You will need to connect a PS2 keyboard, if available. Or a wired USB keyboard, is this "iKey" keyboard is wireless.

If wired, try different USB ports on your machine. Some may be recognized before entering Windows.

----------------------------------------------

Also, if you have a virus, I suggest not formatting your harddrive and instead posting to the Virus & Other Malware Removal section of this site.

There are trained Malware Removal Experts there who can clean your computer.

Before you post there though, you need to read this.

Hey guys,

I dont even know howto describe this properly but i'll do my best...

When i watch a video through any web browser, any dark/black area suddenly become full of squares?

Thats the best i can do, in fact i decided to record a video of it to see if anyone knows whats going on?

The video shows the clip running in Internet Explorer, the same symptoms happen in FireFox also.

Video: YouTube - Video Issues?

Before you suggest checking the drivers, i have already done so and they are up to date.

System Details:

Apple MacBook - 2006 Model.
Intel 2GHz Core Duo Processor
2GB RAM
Intel GMA 950 GPU Device.
320GB Hard Disk - 240GB OS X Partition and 80GB Windows XP Partition.
This issue occurrs on: Windows XP Partition.

A:Unknown issue, possibly OS related?

Have you played with the graphics accelerator settings?

Resolution settings ?

Checked DxDiagram for operational capability?

I have windows vista x64 installed. My system is an AMD 64 X2 6000+, ASUS M2A - VM motherboard. I cannot figure out what device is unknown. Can someone give me any ideas what it could be? I've used Driver Detective and it says all of my drivers are up-to-date.

A:Unknown Device (Related to ACPI)

It is probably the Asus ATK0110 ACPI driver. I have no idea what it is for but I have seen it only on Asus motherboards. Check the driver disk that it came with and you should find it hidden on their somewhere. It doesn't show up on Asus support site for your motherboard which might mean it is something else.

From what I read, It seems there are drivers out there that will install fine but they will hose performance so be real careful.

I keep getting a BSOD and computer will restart by itself.
I don't know if this is the cause of hardware problems or malware.
Will post whatever logs that are needed.

A:Vista BSOD (hardware related, not sure what it is)

Sounds like hard drive to me.

Download the hard drive diagnostic for Western Digital from here: http://support.wdc.com/product/download.asp?lang=en

You need to burn it to a CD or DVD with ISO burning software. If you need the software, I recommend ImgBurn: www.imgburn.com

Burn the CD and boot from it. Follow the on-screen instructions.

Let us know how it goes. Good luck.

Related to Alpha Networks Filter driver. Yours from before win 7 was released. Update or remove.
I do notice McAffee which is a frequent cause of BSOD's. I would remove and replace it with Microsoft Security Essentials AT LEAST TO TEST!

Hello Related? Software Hardware Bsod: Or everyone Bsod: Hardware Or Software Related? New member with an old problem BSoD For about two months now I ve been having those Actually it s been happening ever since Bsod: Hardware Or Software Related? I installed a new sound card SoundBlaster X-Fi Extreme and a new graphic card GeForce GT Mo I ve cleaned up my registry as best I could updated my drivers and spent way too much time looking at Minidump files too no effect Recently though a pattern has appeared which Bsod: Hardware Or Software Related? is a little weird and which has me thinking that the problem may not be driver related Here s what s happening Last weekend I installed an old game for my wife I did the usual installing and rebooting and then she started playing About an hour and minutes later I get the old BSoD so I let the system reboot and she starts playing again After another hour and minutes later the PC gives another BSoD So out of curiosity we keep going and everytime after about an hour and minutes later the system gives me a BSoD and reboot Now considering this strange behavior and since the analysis of the Minidump files is inconclusive Trap Cause Unknow Unexpected Interrupt Unknown Floating Point Analysis Inconclusive Blahblahblah the origin of these BSoD may be something else So HardwareUnless one of the new card is not fonctionning properly my first hypothesis is that the power supply may not be up for the job of running two new cards on top of what it used to run The previous sound card was integrated and the old graphic card a GeForce GS may have been less power hungry than the new one So is it possible that I simply need a stronger power supply And if so what kind would I need SoftwareNothing new has been installed there but I did start using Clean Boots around the same time So maybe something is supposed to load on boot is not because of the clean boot and is causing this problem It may just be my imagination but looking at this weird pattern it s almost like the system is BSoD-ing because its running out of memory or something Anyway time to look around these boards and try to find an answer to all this But if anyone has a suggestion let me know Thanks--Dev

What error messages do you get for the BSOD?

What key errors are reflected in Event Viewer?

If I suspect a hardware problem...I just remove the hardware I have doubts about...and try to run the system without it.

I also try the hardware on that "spare system" I allow myself (I have 2 desktops).

In your case, I would have tried the devices one at a time...both on the problem system and on another system running the same O/S.

If each worked independently of the other, I would then try to get them to play together.

Sometimes...it just doesn't happen.

New game says I need a 64 socket video card, I have a systemax HU 805 (Duel Core/64 socket) with integrated Invidea(sp) video card. Games freeze or slow down really a lot,
when complex video requirements arise. What should I do. Don't have a ton of money.

A:Hardware/game related problem

I went ahead and did a little bit of research on your setup there. Looks like your only running 512mb of RAM with S3 Unichrome integrated graphics. So to put it bluntly your system is not up to the task of playing games at a decent level. All hope is not lost. However it does require you open up your wallet. For the video card I recommend you go with this:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814141038

It's too bad you are stuck with an AGP slot. That's pretty much the best bang for the buck i can find for an AGP video card.

I would also suggest buying another stick of RAM if you can afford to. If you want to do that as well i will need detailed specs on the RAM itself to see if i can find a match for it. Otherwise you will want to go with a new set of matched ram.

Just buying the video card will show a HUGE improvement in gaming. On-board graphics REALLY suck. Right now you have an on-board S3 unichrome gpu that uses your system memory (that's not good). Graphics cards have their own on-board memory. So by using a video card instead of on-board video you will be freeing up 64mbs of system memory as well as a graphics processor that can handle just about anything there is out there right now.

Hi all I have an MSi GT C Laptop that I've had numerous problems with When I first ordered this laptop it was dead on arrival and had to be shipped back for fixing Since i've gotten it back I have had BSODs ranging from - times a week up to times in a day I finally got fed up with it and started digging I did memtest and recieved no errors after passes I just tried running driver verifier and the computer would not boot up but yielded a dump file for me I checked OS integrity as well as Harddrive chkdsk came back clean Attached is the required dumps I did check through the hardware BSOD related? - Possibly memory dump for the verifier and it does mention possibly hardware related I've heard interpreting the verifier dumps is a science so hopefully someone more experienced can help me out This BSOD - Possibly hardware related? BSOD tendency has carried through from Windows to Windows It doesn't seem to have a rhyme or reason to when it crashes although I've noticed certain apps such as Steam Games don't cause crashes but having java applications and IDE's open seem to increase the tendencies Any insight would be greatly appreciated Thanks Aaron

Hi there
for a few months now, my computer has been freezing every time i try to watch a video or use any media device, and it pisses me right off.
Ive tried defragmenting, ive reinstalled windows, and the problem keeps persisting which makes me think its a hardware problem.
BUT i have 512 mb of ram which should be plenty enough to just watch a video with nothing else open. can anyone give me any advice?
Thanks alot

A:constant hardware-related(?) freeze-ups

G'day dj browser, try having a look in your "system information" folder under the system tools applet (navigating from the start button)
When you open that program you will find a nice area with a menubar with a "tools" item, drop down the list and see if you are showing a "problem log" if so open it and you may be able to get an idea of what program is causing the freezes.
Chances are if the program itself is not causing the problem it may be a driver error.
Sometimes using a specific driver removal tool for your card and removing the driver then reinstalling a new driver may help.
Sometimes removing the viewing program and reinstal may help.
It would also pay to run a "memtest86" test to confirm your memory is up to the task before you get too involved. Google the name, download the program, make a bootable disk and boot to it. Good program!!
Cheers, qldit.

Skype is really unclear and unstable for me. The sound quality of the other party is terrible, it's unclear and the voices randomly goes up and down for no reason even though the camera/mic in one is brand new over there!

The video quality on both parties is also unclear even though I'm using a 1.3mp cam on my new laptop and the other party is using a brand new webcam/mic.

When I set the resolution to 1024x768 the prblem doesnt appear to occur (or hasnt yet). 1280x800 is what I had it set to before. I dont like this new resolution, but I guess im stuck useing it until I can figure out how to fix it.

I am having frequent BSOD's always with different error codes. I am basically assuming my motherboard is faulty.

More details here: Blue Screen. BCCode: 1e - Microsoft Community

Basically I have ran memtest 5.01 for 18 hours (8 passes), ran seagate tools, dskchk, I swaped out video cards (the original card which I thought caused problems works perfectly in a friends system).

However, someone mentioned to physically test the ram and plug it out 1 by 1. I was wondering tho if there is a quicker method. Should I use 2 pairs at a time? Or just 1? Or keep 3 at a time and keep swapping 1 at a time.

Or go ahead and trust memtest that none of my 4 modules are bad and RMA my motherboard.

Hello I'm going to be one of those people who made an account here because it's the first result for a tech support forum due to it's name Hopefully someone on here knows a bit about what's going on Problems, Several hardware or related. if not software sure as help would be much appreciated As I said in the title Several Problems, not sure if hardware or software related. of the thread Several Problems, not sure if hardware or software related. I'm have several problems and I'm unsure if they are hardware or software related My laptop is a Dell Inspiron Several Problems, not sure if hardware or software related. It's about years old I am running Windows The problem possibly began a few weeks ago when my AVG virus spyware protector detected two trojans that they could not remove from my registry As a default response I used a System Restore to a point before I got that notice I made sure AVG was up to date and ran it again it did not detect the trojans anymore I have run AVG scan several times now and it doesn't detect anything so I'm unsure if this incident is related or simply a coincidence The true start of my problems was several days ago when my laptop was no longer able to come out of sleep mode I would close the laptop leave it be come back to it and when opening the laptop nothing happens It remains a black screen and the only way to get the laptop to turn back on is to turn it off and reboot it via the power button This does not happen every time but definitely the majority of the time Just to make sure it wasn't the problem I updated several of my drivers audio video BIOS which did not resolve the problem The problem has now escalated as I also cannot restart my laptop naturally When I press the restart option from the Windows button on my desktop it begins the process of shutting down properly but hangs on a black screen like when I try to open my laptop I have to press the power button to actually turn the laptop off and then again to turn it back on Just recently a completely new problem has begun as well After a few hours of use my connection to the internet will fail The internet itself is working fine and all other devices can connect to it However the laptop itself loses the connection to the internet Using Window's options to detect a problem brings back no results I must turn the computer off and then back on to get the internet back At this point I feel all these problems must be related as they all began happening now at the same time after four years of proper working use I should note that my battery is also dying but I've been using the power cord to keep the laptop online I've been using it like this for a few months so I'm unsure if this is related or not I know there's not much to go on here but hopefully someone knows what might be the cause of all these issues

Considering that I had this issue on both WinXP64/Kubuntu when I ran them, and Windows 7 now, I am fairly confident that it's not a software problem. My computer locks up, entirely, without any warning. I've caught it freezing half way through opening a window before, leaving the edges un-antialiased... It's a pretty sudden lockup. I'm wondering whether this is an HDD issue, or whether it's the fact I'm running an AMD X3 720 BE with the fourth core unlocked - either way, how would I go about stopping this? At the moment, it's annoying. When I start to work in a weeks time, it will be disastrous.

I just got done taking my computer on a trip, and I'm now having some trouble with it. I use Windows XP Pro with Service Pack 2. It worked fine before I packed it up, but now it only gets to the Windows load screen and freezes. This worries me because it is probably a result of something that I did to it while packing, though I tried to be careful with it. Is there anything specific that I should look for in order to solve this problem?

If you just transported it, i'd re-check every cable that goes in to the computer once.
If that doesn't work, open the cover and try re-seating all you cards and
ram + make sure that all the ide and powercables are tightly inserted.

I have been experiencing a very nasty crashing issue (probably Crashing related) hardware issue for a few months now and Crashing issue (probably hardware related) I can t seem to single out the problem When I play any game that requires decent graphical power my computer crashes and my monitor shows a nice ballet of random colors in a static-like pattern Where my mouse pointer was I will see a slight outline of a box Sometimes if I am lucky though very rarely I will still hear sound in the background if I have winamp running I ve even had it switch to the next song in the playlist No matter what though It won t unlock After this happens I hard boot and sometimes I get it again right off the bat even before bios loads up Sometimes this is accompanied by a loud high pitched noise it s not from the Crashing issue (probably hardware related) warning led almost sounds like it comes from the power supply When I finally get it running again it works Crashing issue (probably hardware related) fine until I load up a movie or play a game where graphics are needed Here is info on my system and some tests I have ran Athlon processor socket Gigabyte GA-K NNXP w nForce chipset x Corsair XMS-XL Pro series memory with LED Dual IDE hard drives one is g other is g Windows running off the BFG GeForce mb video card SB Audigy ZS sound card w Switching Power Supply DVD CD combo drives plus a floppy -the case has three large fans one in the back one on the side and one on the front next to the hard drives -Not overclocked in any way So I have all the latest video sound motherboard and chipset drivers installed running Windows XP Professional sp all updates included Done routine disk defrags adware spybot removal and virus scans Even reformatted The RAM I have now is new I ve ran Memtest on it for a day straight not a single error the problem was present before the new RAM was there I had similar problems with another video card so I bought this one bam same problem Though they were different at the time so I can t say it s not the video card I ve got the latest bios and I ve cleared the CMOS battery and the jumper several times it doesn t make a difference I m running on fail-safe defaults When the problem happens all the fans are still running just fine Prime got through hours before I stopped it but this was a while ago and since then the problem has worsened When the crash happens the lights on my memory modules reduce to three green lights on one stick and one green light on the other stick which is the default lights when I am not running anything or making any actions One thing I noticed was the RAM and video card were getting very warm to the touch so I ran it with my case open It s clear of dust I removed my cpu heatsink and put some extra thermal paste still didn t fix the problem I m not sure how hot the RAM and video card can get before it causes problems but they get pretty hot but not so hot that you can t firmly hold them I ve checked temps in BIOS all clear and in the s Here is what I think -Mobo is shot in some way -Graphics card might be done -Overheating problems -Power supply could be bad -Processor possibly has problems but with as many times as I have crashed it would be fried by now I really need help on this I don t have the money to be replacing parts that are not broken until I find the right one Anyone have any suggestions nbsp

Hi Have been getting BSOD BSOD hardware ; SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION : related? for about a month now and BSOD : SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION ; hardware related? been trying to fix it myself but I really don't know what the problem is I believe it is hardware related either to the motherboard or processor but can't really confirm that either is faulty It started after I installed a SSD so I thought that was the problem for awhile and based my troubleshooting on it being faulty However I don't think it's the issue anymore because I've tried doing fresh installs without it on a HDD and reverted my BIOS to default settings and still have BSOD problems I did get the crashing to stop after I completely disassembled my system and put it back together reapplying themal paste to the processor This made the crashing stop for about a week My temps for the processor don't seem to be dangerously high though Less than C My video card gets a bit hot but says below C But I have tried using a different video card too so I think that it's not the problem edit Crashes usually happen under load gaming but happens while idle as well I will just make a list of the things I've tried I've probably done some other things too trying to Google and find out a solution Can't remember everything I've tried - Multiple fresh installs of Windows and Vista on a SSD and HDD - Tried Memtest for a total of passes and hours - Tried using a different video card with fresh install - Updated BIOS for motherboard and firmware for SSD If there is any information I've forgotten that I should post please let me know Any help that can be provided will be greatly appreciated Thank you

Scroll down to the utilities category, then scroll down to the "atk0110 driver for windowsxp/vista/windows 7 32&64-bit" (it's about the 12th item down).

Download and install it.

Go to c:\windows\system32\drivers to check and make sure that the asacpi.sys file is date stamped from 2009 or 2010 (not before).

Hey all,
My friend has a dell computer and has downloaded a game onto it called "Gunbound". Anyways, he started to play it but has a problem - there is a black strip about an inch or so wide going right down the middle of the screen.

He has a geforce4 mx 440 videocard

If anyone could help me, we would really appreciate it.

A:Game problem-related to hardware

Try changing the resolution of the game. Also, try changing the Antialising settings.. You can also run windows update to make sure you have microsoft approved drivers, and the latest directx.. I've gotten a few drivers off nvidia's website that I've had troubles with in the past.

Check in the settings of the game to make sure 3d is handled by hardware and not software.

A:BSOD - New hardware (Memory related?)

Hello,

I'm not one to diagnose BSOD errors, I'll leave that to the specialists over here, but you are very underpowered for an HD 6950. That card needs at least 650W to operate efficiently. I realize that you have no problems playing games currently, and the reason for that being that Corsair PSU's are top quality and can pull more wattage then what's labeled on them and still function without breaking down, for a while at least.

But fast forward time a little bit, and the PSU will decide it had enough. It's going to fail and possibly kill other hardware with it. I would strongly suggest you upgrade to at least 650W, preferably 750W to protect your system from such fate. I'd stick with Corsair as well.

Requested data was not in memory. An invalid system memory address was referenced. Defective memory (including main memory, L2 RAM cache, video RAM) or incompatible software (including remote control and antivirus software) might cause this Stop message, as may other hardware problems (e.g., incorrect SCSI termination or a flawed PCI card).

nv4.disp.dll is a Nvidia display driver. Try the following:

1. Download Driver Cleaner Pro or Driver Sweeper (both have free versions; make sure the version will work with your OS) to your desktop screen and install.

2. Download the latest diver(s) for your video card but don't install them.

3. Uninstall your video card drivers and reboot your PC into Safe Mode. Run Driver Cleaner Pro or Driver Sweeper but ONLY for the video card drivers. I had someone use it on their chipset drivers! If it doesn't find any video card drivers that is quite okay.

4. Reboot and install new video card drivers.

A:Unknown Spyware or Virus - think it's related to ebay

So after fighting and fighting with this computer I finally gave up and reinstalled windows. I was able to get it removed from one computer using a combination of bartpe, combofix, malwarebytes, and manual removal of suspect things, but apparently this virus infects .exe files and if run, brings the virus back full blown.I found info on it at the following site: LINK Edit: Fixed link.I see many chinese, russian, and other sites talking about this but no one seems to have a fix.

Hi guys I been having a strange problem with my graphics card lately Randomly yesterday I was playing Call of Duty Modern Warfare and suddenly the graphics went crazy on me see attached pictures I can t imagine what would randomly cause this to happen While Is this or problem graphics related? software hardware I originally thought it was a problem with just this game there are small noticable graphics glitches that occur on my computer now On startup for instance the computer screen has tiny white dots going up and down and there are some other minor glitches but nothing extremely noticable Basically I m wondering if this could possibly be a fixable software problem or if it s a hardware issue Last year I had my graphics card suddenly break but the computer was basically unusable after that which leads me to believe this may actually be a driver problem with my graphics card I installed new drivers for the card but it had no effect My card is a Radeon HD The only change in the computer Is this graphics problem hardware or software related? I can think of is that I installed a demo of a game Jedi Knight II which played perfectly fine and played Call of Duty afterwards and everything was working fine for at least a little while before this problem surfaced Any ideas would be greatly appreciated nbsp

Hey guys, theres something wrong with my pc and i don't know what it is. When i press the power button the pc starts its cycle but nothing is displayed on scren, this continues for about 10 seconds and the in restarts and the second time it boots (nothing displayed) it hangs in cycle endlessly. I swaped out graphics cards and thats wasn't the case nor was it the ram. I doubt its the processor. I'm left to believe its either the mobo or the harddrive, any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys

A:Computer fails boot (hardware related)

Disconnect everything except the video, memory and graphics. If it still gives no display, you have a bad board, bad CPU, bad graphics card, or bad memory. If you have more than one memory chip, try them one at a time. If it still doesn't work, try another video card. Then you're down to CPU and board.

I ran the Microsoft set-up for Windows on my Windows desktop last night but then scheduled the actual failure Windows 10? to related Boot/hardware upgrade for tomorrow got Boot/hardware failure related to Windows 10? through running the checks and the download only When I came to my PC this morning it looks like it rebooted and I had a Boot Failure insert disc and press enter error Hitting enter didn't do anything so I restarted note that my keyboard LEDs were on When I initially restarted the case fans turned on but the screen would not nor would the power light on the case I let it sit for minutes and tried again and now the mobo option screen would come up but it would not move past that Also my keyboard LEDs were not lit yet my mouse was I was trying to get into BIOS options but it would not move past that screen I'm thinking hardware failure here but not sure if it could potentially be related to something that happened with windows pre-install that would've affected it since the timing is very coincidental Any thoughts

A:Boot/hardware failure related to Windows 10?

You're correct IMO.  It seems highly coincidental, but the symptoms do seem hardware related.

I would first suggest running Startup Repair (for W7) as the system hasn't been updated yet.  https://www.winhelp.us/repair-your-computer-in-windows-vista-or-7.html

Is there any chance that the hard drive is overfull?  If it is, it may not be able to boot because of the lack of room for operations that Windows has to perform.

You can try these bootable hardware diagnostics (if you can boot from removeable media):  http://www.carrona.org/initdiag.html

Hello I ve joined this community hopefully to get this problem fixed A few weeks ago this problem started when my PC freezes every couple of minutes no matter what I do whether its surfing the web playing games or even when I dont touch anything seems to me like its not a problem of RAM memory overload since it happens even when nothing sirious runs on the PC but maybe I m mistaken this issue related freezes, probably Computer hardware is also the reason why I changed the operating system from Windows XP to Windows I ve formatted and upgraded the OS but still the problem consists since my motherboard is old it only supports GB of RAM so upgrading RAM is impossible without buying a new Computer freezes, probably hardware related issue motherboard which I Computer freezes, probably hardware related issue guess basiclly means changing the entire computer anyway im currently running the computer in safe Computer freezes, probably hardware related issue mode with networking only with quot core quot drivers and the freezing doesn t happen in this mode I also tried literlly cleaning the computer from dust and also ran MemTest and didnt find anything unusual so any ideas what might be the problem maybe I should cancel some hardware drivers that might have been damaged and interfere with the system running smoothly PC Specs Windows Ultimate x Install Language English Processor gigahertz Intel Pentium kilobyte primary memory cache kilobyte secondary memory cache -bit ready Hyper-threaded total motherboard is RS SB Bus Clock megahertz BIOS Phoenix Technologies LTD PG Video Card NVIDIA GeForce GT cheers Yotam nbsp

This is a new rig i built on the first two days of use it ran fine with windows -bit but then gave me consistent blue screens of death Mostly PAGE FILE IN NONPAGED AREA but it differs from time to Likely errors Hardware-related constant BSOD time and after much fighting with drivers reconnecting everything i re-formatted and installed windows again but a while later it happened again the same day I ran memory tests on the RAM several times and it Likely Hardware-related constant BSOD errors came out without errors so i re-formatted again and this time installed windows xp -bit thinking it might be -bit driver issues but later the blue screens appeared againg and again I ran IntelBurnTest to see if it s the CPU I tried different RAM sticks tried different GPUs and tried Furmark But the problem cannot be re-created I tried all of them together to see if anything crashes but hours later still nothing My current suspects are the Motherboard and the Hard drive Checkdisk came out okay though I really don t know what to do with this i m pretty stuck I ll upload some Dump files from my Minidump folder i hope it contains the answer to this mystery I m pretty sure it s not drivers or software because it crashed clean windows even on safe mode and because i used various versions of drivers to no worth Thank you for reading this and trying to help nbsp

CPU: AMD Athlon II x3 445
RAM: 2*2GB Kingston DDR2 800MHz CL6
