I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/directdownload.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

As well as a number of other problems my GPU (GTX 670m) has been causing(My thread in the sound part of the forums..) It has also come to my attention that while playing any sort of game, from cube world to more demanding games, randomly the GPU usage will drop from 70%-90% to 10% which causes me to go from 60fps to like 5 fps.

I've tested this with and without over clocking and have no idea what is causing it. I dont think its the temperature of my GPU as it remains in the low 60s(c) while in game.

System info:
OS: Win 7 Home Premium 64 bit
GPU: GTX 670m
CPU: Intel i5 2430 @ 2.4ghz
Ram: 8gb
Model: Msi GT780dx

A:GPU usage drastic drops while gaming

Monitor your CPU usage with RealTemp while gaming. Make sure to select log file while gaming. Then look a the log file to see if the "MHz" suddenly dropped to 800MHz while gaming. If it does, it's throttling due to excessive heat. Then you can clean the heatsink and fan vents to make sure CPU doesn't get hot enough to throttle itself.

Hi, im having an issue as the title describes. It happens if im downloading / watching streams / playing games / browsing the internet. I just got a new pc about a week ago and its been happening since i got it.

I have tired installing LAN mobo drivers, mobo chipset, updated win7 64bit fully, registering new dns via cmd, tried to change power device options in network adapter but i had no such option.

Hoping to get some other suggestions because the issue makes online gaming a bit annoying.

thanks

Hi,
I have a problem on windows 10 after clean installing November update.
My network connection works fine with normal internet usage(my internet speed is less than 10Mbps).
I Also have setup Samba (home network sharing) and an Apache web server (both only is used in local network) .
When I use Apache or Samba to download/upload a large file on my local network (100Mbps full speed) after a few minutes or even less than a minute my connections drops suddenly. And both my local and internet access will be gone until I disable/enable network adapter or restart windows.
Yesterday I installed a clean copy of windows 10 AU , Problem is not solved.
I did not have this problem on windows 7 and 8.1 and also windows 10 before November update.
I updated my network card driver (Atheros L1) But problem not solved.
What Can the problem be?
Thanks

In GTA V and Rise of Tomb Raider i am getting random fps dips for a second. During fps dip there is core clock drop for example from 1975mhz to 291mhz. During this moment there is GPU LOAD,Core clock and voltage drop.GPUZ shows as reason UTIL.

Here is screen from Rise of Tomb Raider ( i added black arrows and you can see util in this moment ):

In previous Windows version ( 1511 ) i dont had that problem.

I'm trying to run an old game, zoo tycoon 2, on windows 7. Apparently this game doesn't like it if you have more than 4 GB of ram; my laptop has 6.
I am able to go to msconfig and lower the max GB usage, but it's not worth it changing it every time just for this game.
Is there any way I can change the way this specific program runs so it will think I have less ram? Thanks

A:Changing memory usage

I don't think there is any way to do what you want.
The first thing to try with incompatible programs is compatibility mode, accessible from the programs properties. You could also try XP mode if it is supported by your edition of Windows 7. Failing that you could install and older OS, such as XP, under VirtualPC or VirtualBox.

What was the exact error message you were receiving?

Can we assume you are running Windows 7 64 bit? A 32 bit OS would be unable to use more than 4 GB of RAM.

Hello since I changed my HDD to a SSD and reinstalled Windows with bit on it my system frequently runs into CPU usage caused by the kernel module acpi sys as I found out with process explorer and confirmed by recording an ETL-file This problem occurs once an hour in average sometimes after minutes of system operation and sometimes after two hours regardless changing after usage 100% SSD of Pro HDD CPU Satellite T130-14L: to acpi.sys which programs are running and if I am actively using the computer or not When I notice a hanging and see in the process explorer window that kernel cpu are in use I allways need to save my work what might take some minutes and reboot Satellite Pro T130-14L: 100% CPU usage of acpi.sys after changing HDD to SSD the computer I could live with it but this is quite nasty My bios is up to date version as well as my other drivers no errors and no viruses detected In other forums I read that such problems might Satellite Pro T130-14L: 100% CPU usage of acpi.sys after changing HDD to SSD be avoided when changing the energy saving settings of Windows to something like never go into standby of the SSD but this doesn't work in my case as I deactivated all energy saving options in Windows and still have this probelm Is there maybe a not official bios update which could fix this problem I read in another forum that an unofficial bios update from Dell fixed a similar problem of a Dell-computer Can anybody help me to solve this problem please

A:Satellite Pro T130-14L: 100% CPU usage of acpi.sys after changing HDD to SSD

Details from Process Explorer:
The thread with TID 160 and start adress:

ACPI.SYS+0x1af7c

suddenly starts using 100% CPU and does not stop until reboot.
Similar problem like in this forum described for a Dell PC:
https://social.technet.microsoft.com...um=w7itproperf

If, in contrast to the Dell-problem, there is no suitable bios-update for me, you might help me if you could tell me how to stop the kernel module (if it starts hanging or even before). Then I at least could avoid the frequent reboots.

Hi A few weeks back my C drive started mysteriously filling up to the point where it was running out of space completely I would run CCleaner organize things clean out my downloads folder and in some cases even delete some of the games I hadn't played in a while to make more room A couple days would go by and it would be filling up again I finally figured out that my System Protection maximum disk usage was set to and Windows was graciously creating many restore points every time I made any sort of change to my system removing a game for instance or installing a new one and it was filling up my hard drive quickly I don't know how this got set to I certainly didn't do usage 50% System to itself changing protection disk maximum it as I didn't even know this existed It is supposed to be by default I changed it to and deleted the old restore points Things were back to normal for System protection maximum disk usage changing itself to 50% about a week and then I noticed it was filling up again I just not checked it and it was set back to again I changed it back down to and again deleted the old restore points I have run Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and I have run a full scan using Avast Free and I have run a full scan using Spybot Search amp Destroy and none of these have caught the culprit Could anyone help diagnose why my system protection settings keep getting changed to maximum disk space being available for system restore points I would like to set this to or and have it stay there on its own EDIT I fixed a grammatical error

A:System protection maximum disk usage changing itself to 50%

The easiest (and best) solution is to completely disable system restore and begin using disc imaging software on a regular basis instead. It's more reliable, all encompassing, and infinitely better protection.

Try playing around with IRQ and plug an play settings. Try toggling legacy USB/USB interrupt, plug and play BIOS, APIC, disable VGA interrupt. Disable any devices you don't use in BIOS - turn off parallel and serial ports for example.

I would try clearing the CMOS by moving the appropriate jumpers on the motherboard CMOS pins. Your motherboard manual illustrates what to do. If you don't have your manual handy, go to the Biostar website and download the pdf manual or click here. See page 12.

Hello all,
Got a new one. (For me anyway!)
On a couple of old boards I have it's possible to remove the BIOS chip from the board.
My question is, is it possible to switch these chips around from system to system?
Ie. A system that has BIOS that wont really let you configure the CPU speed, switch this BIOS chip with one that fits into the slot, but that would let you change these settings.
If so, what things to be aware of, peculiarities, setting changes, etc?

THANX!

Go to the Boot Heading and change it in there. You would be changing the boot sequence or Boot Order.

I am able to access my HP-15-ac104la Notebook BIOS setup (Pressing ESC before booting) however I'd like to make it bootfrom my internal DVD. I am also able to change the booting order (with in BIOS) however when I do want to change the actual booting value (little arrow next to the wished value by pressing the ENTER key), the little arrow never changes from the internal harddisk to the internal CD Rom. and when I reboot the computer the computer stubbornly keeps booting directly from the local harddisk and not the internal CD ROM. I want to point out that within BIOS, booting from CD ROM is ENABLED. Please help. Thanks a lot Any little help is always appreciated. Jesse

My master boot drive is on Ch0 (IDE) my SSD is on Ch4 (SATA) in the bios. How do I get my SSD to Ch0 so it's seen as the Windows Boot Drive (Master) for Windows to Boot, it is just a matter of it plugged into the right SATA port on the board ? I've had situations like this before, forgot how to solve

A:Changing HDD Channels in BIOS

There is no priority or hierarchy to drive position in SATA. All hard disks are treated as equal drives and it is the OS that determines the boot priority. But if you want the SSD to be recognized in the BIOS as ch0 then be sure to plug it into SATA port 1 on the motherboard.

I'm curious that you have one drive in legacy IDE mode on a SATA controller with an SSD drive. It is recommended that SSD's be run in AHCI mode on SATA controllers. This does not address your problem, but it makes me wonder if you have a PATA controller on the motherboard and an old IDE hard drive connected to it?

If there was an operating system installed on the "IDE" drive previously and you have since installed an OS on the SSD then that may explain why you are having the problem. A better description of your system and what you have done would help. If you could post a screenshot of your Disk Management window then we could see what is going on in a second.

I have an Asus board with EUFI and cannot boot a Linux OS form a stick for trying out the VMware with Mint MATE.
Now it has been suggested that maybe the EUFI boot set up is not allowing the machine to boot from the stick the ISO is on and to change the BIOS to legacy.
Now I have seen a few things in Youtube and some mentioned reinstalls and such and there is somewhere I don't want to go right now in case I cannot get back the EUFI and as for a reinstall I have just done one and also do not want that.

So what is the go with the BIOS I thought the boot order could just be changed as the old system use to be - or can it?

A:Changing the BIOS format

I have not used this, but it looks promising, but as with anything BIOS/UEFI....take extreme care.

Hello,

Win2k

Has anyone any ideas please. I have a Socket A Mainboard (K7S5A), which is very temperamental in its communications with its video board. It is a "stinker" to restart, and the manual restart button has to be pressed many times, after intervals, before it will think of booting. Any way, that's not the exact problem I am asking about today:

The BIOS date will change arbitrarily - I have just replaced the CMOS battery (I think that's what you call it), but the problem persists.

I know that mtbird says she is not very taken with this model of mainboard, but I am stuck with it for now.

I would be grateful for any help.

p.s. Also had to fit DDR RAM (512) for it to perform at all satisfactorily,
and it is quite "nippy" once up and running.

Bye
Penny.

Hello,

I'm currently looking for a way to change all of our Laptop & Workstation (Approx 250+ machines) BIOS passwords using a remote tool if possible. The majority of laptops are Latitude and the workstations OptiPlex although most of the laptops have BitLocker activated.
We also use Empirum software to push out software if this would be of any help.

I have been looking around and into using the Dell Client Configuration Utility and also the OpenManage tool although I'm not too sure if they would work for us due to us using BitLocker.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

I have lots of things I need to back up and i want my windows system to be how it is now. The problem is Windows system image apparently does not like applying MBR imaged disks to GPT disks.
So i want to know how i can change my disk from MBR to GPT and get it working with the UEFI without losing anything before i get my new motherboard.

I am swapping out my older X58 BIOS motherboard for a UEFI motherboard with a new Ivy Bridge i5. I'd rather not have to reinstall Windows 7, and just want to make sure I can swap the boards and CPUs without issue. Thanks!

A:Changing From BIOS Motherboard to UEFI

I don't know how likely that is.

Before you try any transplant, I strongly recommend that you image your HD. I've used Acronis True Image, although it's not completely foolproof.

You may be able to simply swap motherboards, Windows 7 detects the hardware changes, and off you go. You may have to install a few new drivers.

If that doesn't work, you may be able to use the sysprep utility on your WIndows installation, with the "generalize" switch. That's intended to allow producing a generic Windows installation for diverse hardware. (Drivers are removed.)

If all else fails, re-install Windows. I hope that you aren't using an OEM copy of Windows. Microsoft may not be willing to activate it on a new system.

Hi i have a problem, i recently upgraded my sony vaio pc with a SSD.

originally it had 2x500gb RAID0 as the C disk but i clean installed on my new vertex 2 SSD and set everything up, BUT my bios keeps changing the boot order and i keep getting 'boot manager missing' press ctrl+alt+del to restart.

the RAID 0 is under Volume0 in the bios (limit bios as its from sony)

but it keeps putting [SONY] as the 1st boot and the best i can gues this is the in-built card readers.

I ve tried everthing and i cant get it to stay as i set it.

Also i cant update my bios as the .exe update tool gets a 'Cannot read system information' error message.

please and help would be amazing, ive been pulling my hair out for hours.

A:Bios Keeps changing boot order...

When you reinstalled with the single HD, did you change the SATA controller to AHCI or IDE mode? Or is it still set ot RAID? Check all BIOS settings related to SATA, IDE or RAID drives controller.

How many HD's are connected? Try booting with only the Win7 HD plugged in.

You say that "SONY" is listed as the First boot device. Sony what? Can you be more specific as to what device this is? Try setting the HD upon which Win7 is installed as first to boot if it's not.

Next try resetting the CMOS: Clear CMOS - 3 Ways to Clear the CMOS - Reset BIOS

See if you can update the BIOS now, or if the problem clears. Post back a screenshot of the full Disk Mgmt drive map with listings, using Snipping Tool in Start Menu.

From the picture it looks like you would use the up/down arrow keys to hightlight Boot Option 1 and then use the +/- keys to change it.

I believe you can also access the boot order menu by tapping Esc or F8 at boot for ASUS but it depends on the model number.

It is safe just to swap it, I'd prefer turning the power off before doing it CMOS won't propably clear within the couple of tens of seconds it takes at most, and even if it would clear, you'd just need to set the settings back.

I just recently had to upgrade to a 880gm-ud2h motherboard after my old one died (an older model, also updated the RAM and Processor, but not the hard drives or video card) but now that I've done all this, something has messed up with Windows.
Whenever I start the computer, windows will seem to start normally, then a BSOD will flash for less than a second before the computer reboots and demands that I run the System Repair thing for Windows. After running this three times without effect, I decided that I was better off installing a new OS (I lost my repair disk), and created a USB bootable for Ubuntu.
However, with this USB boot drive plugged in, hitting F12 during boot up brings up the BIOS boot order as normal, but no matter which option I choose nothing changes.

Can anybody help me with this problem?

I have to say that I seriously doubt it, but I do not know for sure. I don't even know how you would go about that. I mean you need the bios to boot up and run your computer so how can you simply override all that information. Your best bet is to take a blank chip and program it with the new AMI bios and use it.

I'm sure other people know more about this than I do, but this is just my opinion. Just curious, but why exactly would you want to do this???

I use a start-up batch file to do most of the work and a few other files in the start-up folder, this is all imaged to the hard drive with a hard drive duplicator. The batch file runs once and deletes it self. Anyways, that is the general idea of what is going on. the only thing left that I have to do manually is change the BIOS settings, USB enabled/disabled, behavior on power up, BIOS password, ect... Is there any way I could automate this process, preferably a command line? Thanks!

A:Changing BIOS settings within windows 7?

Hello Joe and welcome to Seven Forums.

Since the BIOS is part of the motherboard, I think it's very possible that even computers from the same manufacturer could use different motherboards and different BIOS. (As of May 16, 2012 Microsoft recognized about 60 different BIOS manufacturers.)

List of BIOS Manufacturer Web Sites Part 1

Since each BIOS probably has its own specific way to access changeable parameters, I'm not sure that a command line or batch file approach would work. Perhaps some more knowledgeable Forum members will jump in with a better suggestion.

But my default settings set my processor at 1.24 GHz, when it should be at 2.08 GHz. This is because the FSB speed in my BIOS is set at 100MHz. Setting it to 166MHz would put it back to normal, but everytime I do it, it hangs on a black screen at reboot again. Forcing me to ressed the battery again to get anywhere. Merry Christmas.

A:Help changing boot order in Intel BIOS

Changing boot order in BIOS setup steps are on page 64 here: http://downloadmirror.intel.com/1850...chProdSpec.pdf

You can also get a one-time BIOS Boot Menu by pressing F10 key repeatedly at first boot screen.

Okay, I have a Lenovo ThinkCentre 7373CTO. And i would like to use multiple drives. i could do it on any other machine.Anyways. i start the pc i go into setup i go to boot order to make sure my Hitachi boot drive is #1 so my other drive that simply holds files is not reconized to boot from, so i change the boot order i re arrange it just he way i like it. and i go to the EXIT tab. The Save and Exit option is always greyed out and it always makes me exit without saving. I need to know how to save it.

My computer is a (Canadian) HP G60 laptop with a Phoenix BIOS, and after I changed the BIOS boot order in the settings menu (to, unsuccessfully, boor Clonezilla from a flash drive), the BIOS starts, but Vista doesn't load. I only see a blank (black) screen after the BIOS menu.

I forgot what I specifically did, but could anyone tell me what I did wrong and how to recover the computer?

A:Vista won't boot after changing BIOS settings

I was trying to change the boot priority in the harddrive group of the BIOS. It says on the right side to use + or - to move the devices up or down. I wanted to move the 2. disk (Intel) into first place. But with +/- nothing moved. I tried 2 different keyboards, but no luck. Anybody have an idea what could be the problem?

A:Problem changing boot sequence in BIOS

Which plus/minus's are you using? the numpad ones? or the ones on the top row next to bkspace?

If numpad ones, don't forget to enable the numlock

Hi, I bought a Lenovo Thinkpad Edge E320 with 128GB SSD but without OS. I installed Windows 7 and ubuntu and had issues with dual booting because of the UEFI. So I decided to change from UEFI to legacy mode in bios. After that I cann't enter BIOS any longer. If I press F1 on start I get "Entering BIOS Setup" but the BIOS doesn't open instead immediatly Windows starts. The same with F12 to select the boot drive selection the message appears but the menu doesn't open instead Windows starts. How can I enter again the BIOS or reset the options? I tried BIOS Update with BOOT Cd from Lenovo support site but it didn't help. Thank you for advice Best regards bubbas

A:Edge E320, can't enter bios after changing from ue...

Hi bubbas and welcome to the Community,

This is a long shot, but take out the hard drive, the battery and unplug the ac adapter and hold the power button down for about 15 seconds.

Then plug in just the ac adapter without the battery or hard drive and start the machine and see if you can get into the bios.

If you can, reload the defaults and reboot.  See if you can get in again and you might want to check the F12 to see if that works.

I'm switching over from IDE to Sata Western Digital Model WD2500AAJS on my HP A620N with a ASUS A7V8Z-LA Motherboard.

I'm going to use the Sata drive as the drive for my O/S and other programs, rather than as a data storage.

I have no other hd connected at this time.

I have both the power cable plugged in and the data cable plugged into the Sata 1 port on the motherboard.

I'm having trouble getting the Bios to see that I've installed the Sata drive.

I'm not sure how to change the Bios so it knows the Sata drive is there.

Any ideas? Thanks in advance!

I have an IDE removeable hard drive. After removing it, the BIOS changes the boot sequence and attempts to start from a drive that does not have an OS on it.

What I want to do is to find a way to, at least, nail down my C: which has its own partition on one of the two hard drives that are permanently in the computer.

Likewise, it does the same thing all over again after I re-insert the removeable hard drive into its slot.

Thanks

Hi,
For some reason, yesterday my D: disapeared! I tried to do add hardware but it wouldn't detect it! So I went into the BIOS and I think the problem is that my Hard Drive is the Primary Master and my cd rom is the secondary master. Shouldn't my cd-rom be the primary slave?? If this isn't the problem, what is? Thanks.
..
edit: There are no other cd-rom drives in my computer, I'm running Win98 and the cd-rom is a plextor. It just disapeared from windows. My BIOS recognizes it mut windows doens't. Please help. Thanks.

How can I update my bios to allow booting from a USB Flash drive. My bios is American Megatrends 6.07, 5/4/2011 and the only options are CD, Hard Drive, floppy. Is there a way to change this? In testing the Windows 10 Repair Disc I created, my system froze at the 'choose keyboard layout' blue screen. I could not use the usb mouse or usb keyboard. As a result, I had to recover my system back to windows 7 using my Norton Ghost recovery disk and the backups I had made before the downloading windows 10.

A:Changing boot order when BIOS is set to UEFI

You change it the same way as before. Usually you can do it withe the OEM software installed on Win8.

You may have to turn off Fast Boot if set.

HP 110-016 runing updated Windows 10.  Am trying to dual boot to ubuntu.  Ubuntu is installed and works along side windows.  Changing the boot order in the BIOS will not stick.  It always changes back to boot only windows.   I get into the BIOS change the boot order so Ubuntu boots first, do F10 to save then do a save and exit.  At this time the computer will boot to Ubuntu, but as soon as I turn the computer off and then restart it will boot to windows. This is not what I want. Is there something wrong with the BIOS?  Any fixes?

A:Changing boot order in BIOS will not stick

@danmf?, welcome to the forum. It has been awhile since I used Ubuntu, but I believe that you have to use GRUB to select the drive that you want to use at boot.  I suggest going to www.ubuntuforums.org for help.  They are the experts on Ubuntu. Please click the Thumbs up + button if I have helped you and click Accept as Solution if your problem is solved.

I changed the boot settings in my bios to boot off a USB recovery drive since my Windows boot loader wasn't working and now the bios won't even load. Turning the power on starts the computer but nothing displays on the monitor. I've never felt so perpetually screwed in my life. Any help would be appreciated.

A:Bios won't load after changing boot settings

What id recommend you do is reset bios to default settings. To do so, shut your computer off, take out cmos battery and reinsert it. This will reset your bios to default settings. Report back if this solved your problem.
This will determine if the bios change is the primary cause to your blank screen of not.

Stop 0x124 BSODs are hardware related. Most probably your hardware is refusing to work with a preset overclock profile and so it is crashing with a stop 0x124.

Better to stay without high performance profile in that case.

Hi, I have a HP Pavilion 15 n204tx Notebook with Windows 8.1 running. Now I would like to install a SSD by replacing the optical drive. I am not an expert and I did some digging. I heard that before I install Windows to the new SSD, I should change settings in BIOS to AHCI concerning my hard drive. My Problem now is that I can't find it in BIOS. Where can it be found and maybe changed? Is it really needed to change BIOS mode? What are my alternate choices?

A:UEFI BIOS Access, Changing Boot Drive Order To SSD

Hi, No, you can't do that. You have to swap SSD and HDD. Put old HDD to the caddy. Regards.

Hi all,

I installed the x64 version of Win 7. After that I changed the registery and then changed the SATA selection mode to AHCI (which was in IDE mode before) in BIOS.

But;

1- One excessive icon has been appeared in bottom right-hand corner (as is in below image). When I click on it, a small window appears that says:

Open devices and printers
Eject ST500DM002-1BC142 ATA Device (this is my HDD!)
- ...(C)
-....(D)
-....(E)

I think it belongs to the HDD. How to get rid of it?

2- Should the settings of the BIOS (SATA selection mode) always be in AHCI and don't I need to return it to IDE even if I want to re-install the (x64 or x86) OS?

A:One excessive icon (Safely remove...) after changing the BIOS to AHCI

Isn't there any way!?

A:I/O device error when burning discs after changing settings in BIOS

Write down what the drives on each IDE connector are = slave or master and make sure they are set this way.

Primary cable

End connector = Master
middle connector = Slave

Same setup for the other IDE cable

Leave the BIOS settings set to AUTO

reboot the system and you should be ok. If any of the drives are set to cable select make sure they are set as above.

If the IDE cables are 80 wire the motherboard connector is the end that is farthest from the middle connector and this has to be the way it connects to the motherboard and pin one is the wire that has the red on it.

Greetings,

I am working on an instrument that runs Windows 7 embedded and has a touch screen. I needed to replace the single board computer and then edit the settings in the BIOS for the touch screen to work properly.

Swapped the single board computer, edited the Bios and booted into windows. Display was not good but visible- I realized I had forgot to change one of the BIOS settings (resolution size) but did remember to change the other setting 24bit color.

When I rebooted to get back into the BIOS to make the other change the screen is blank. Cannot boot from a CD since instrument does not have a drive.

The only thing I can think of use an external monitor instead of the touch screen to look at the BIOS?

Does this sound reasonable? Could I have done something that is rendering the SBC useless now?

Thanks for your help in advanced!

Best Regards,
Marc

A:Solved: Windows 7 embedded blank monitor screen after changing BIOS setting

The last BIOS change you made was to the resolution so it's reasonable to assume that you've set it to a value that the display device cannot handle (res too high most probably). You will need to plug in an external monitor temporarily so you can see the BIOS settings to set the resolution to a lower value.

I am choosing which OS to boot by changing the boot order in my BIOS. To me, this seems clean and simple. I built 32 bit XP on one disk, then removed that disk from my system, installed a different disk, and built 64 bit W7.

When both disks are installed, I change the boot order to select the OS I want, and each OS sees and can use the files on either disk.

Am I asking for trouble here, or is this as clean as I think it is? What I want is one set of user document files which can be used from whichever OS has been booted.

There are no problems with doing it that way its just a PITA. with minimal work you can have a bootloader where all you have to do is click the OS you want to run. You need to use a tool like bcdedit. there are instructions for itis use here BCDEDIT - How to Use .How this helps and let us know if you need help with anything

I am trying to gather some basic info about usage of Win8/UEFI and Win8/BIOS. So please participate in this noncontroversial survey. Note that you will not have a place to respond if you are not using Win8.

After responding, I?d also be interested in hearing about problems you have had using Windows 8/UEFI that appear to be associated with using UEFI (i.e., they most likely would not have occurred, in your opinion, under BIOS). Ultimately, I am wondering if you think Windows 8/UEFI is an idea whose time has come.

Okay.. here is one of those stupid simple things I never had to do before and can't figure out how to do it.. I know it's basic.. but .. I self taught so my training skipped around a lot.. sorry!

Basically I did a graph for a yearly set of values, not yet filled in.

My boss wants these charts to show percentages through 100% even blank, but it keeps defaulting to 0.something ranges.

For the life of me I cannot remember how to do this and on my search of the site was harry in trying to figure out a decent search range. Any help is most sincerely appreciated. I have a feeling it wil be a smack my head kind of thing.

Thank you!
