faulty fujitsu laptop

Q: faulty fujitsu laptop

Hi all, I have just picked up a faulty fujitsu laptop. Amilo Li. model number ms2228
It appently was vista but someone had put windows 7 on it ... so they tell me.
they said it jsut went off one day but think they are telling porkies. anyway....

booted up to just the fujisu screen then went black screen with flashing curser top left of the screen.
I thought it was just the os needed reinstalling. I have tried to reinstall windows 7. the install starts ok & gets as far as 75% or thereabouts. but when it needs to reboot while installing the files, the reboot just starts right back at the beginning. so it seems that whenever i try to boot there is no continuation.
hope i have explained this ok. any help would be appreciated. thanks in advance.

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Reformatted Hard Drive and tried to reinstall Windows Tablet PC Edition from Fujitsu Recovery disc. But get error message "Unexpected error occurred during the optical drive preparing. Can not start the restore disc." and then I get a dos prompt for A drive . I've heard about this before where Toshiba and Fujitsu prevent people using a competitor's brand of CD Drive.

Anyone have feelings about Fujitsu laptops? Looking at N3511 - seems just what I want. But what about reliability and Tech Support? Anyone have experiences to share?

Thanks -

Insert the Windows XP CD into the CD drive, and then restart the computer. Click to select any options that are required to start the computer from the CD drive if you are prompted. When the "Welcome to Setup" screen appears, press R to start the Recovery Console. If you have a dual-boot or multiple-boot computer, select the installation that you must access from the Recovery Console. When you are prompted, type the Administrator password. If the administrator password is blank, just press ENTER.Type: chkdsk /rIt's important to have a space before the "/".To exit the Recovery Console and restart the computer, type exit at the command prompt, and then press ENTER.

Yo Guys Fujitsu laptop problem The screen has a pretty specific backlight bug Laptop Fujitsu Repair - when the screen is tilted at Fujitsu Laptop Repair around degrees or more the backlight on the left side starts flickering A LOT Sometimes if there is too much flicker the entire backlight panel of the screen may shut off leaving the screen entirely dark The laptop has went to repair several times and everyone reported that the issue lies in a single cable which connects the backlight to some main connection thingy The results after each repair were always the same - when back from repair the laptop works fine for one week then starts going all mumbo jumbo with the backlight again after about a week Someone told me that if I actually get out a bit more cash they could change some bigger component in the laptop and get it working again possibly the actual screen or some kind of matrix thing Queston Is this laptop worth fixing and spending time with It is currently on W Pro bit with no SP instaled it is pretty darn slow considering the single core AMD GHz and the GB of DDR RAM The screen itself sucks it's one of those CrystalClear screens which makes you want to freak out when you bring it out into direct sulight My original idea since this is my mom's old laptop - she now has a new one was to put Ubuntu on it and use it for testing but the laptop itself sucks so I'm ot sure what to do OPTION ONE - I drop a small amount of money to fix this bulky thing OPTION TWO - I screw this and work my ass up a bit this summer to plow around bucks on a decent dual core laptop with some DDR RAM Waiting for opinions Please help as this is really confusing and I don't really know what to do

Hi, I wonder if anyone can help. A friend of mine has a Fujitsu AMILO M1405 laptop which will not start up in any way shape or form. It was OK one day and then the next when he switched it on absolutely nothing happens. No cursor or display shows on the screen and the fan does not start. The power supply is OK and the relevant lights are lit but it does not access the Bios etc. We've tried a recovery CD which does spin up but then stops. Again nothing whatsoever shows on the screen. - is it kaput? Thanks

I have a Fujitsu Laptop Lifebook Series C.
The last few days it will sometimes just shut down, and will not start up again. Sometimes it will not turn on at all. Other times it will stay on for a long time. When I took it to my brother's house it wouldn't turn on at all. At my house it will stay on longer in in some rooms of the house and hardly work at all in other rooms of the house. But in the rooms of the house where it works the most it will still shut down sometimes.

This is a recent problem, I have never had before. It always used to work all the time in every room of the house and whereever else I would take it.

There is no problem with the operating system.

Please help!!!!!!!

Okay obvious question first... is the battery charged? Have you got the mains adapter plugged in?

I have a Fujitsu Siemens Amilo D, and it sometimes refuses to turn on even when the battery has some charge, unless the mains adapter is plugged in.

Hi There,

Was wondering if anyone can give me some advice. Basically I have a Sony laptop that needs a new LCD and I have a fujitsu siemens laptop with charging issues at the moment. The LCD's on the laptop appear to be the same size, the only difference being the Sony is glossy and the FS one is Matte. Is it possible to put the FS one in the Sony? It may seem like a daft question but I just wanted to check if they'd have the same connections ect before I take everything apart.

Any advice appreciated.

There is a remote possibility they would be compatible, but we would need the manufacturer and part number for both displays. Unfortunately, it is usually on a label on the back side.

Seems like it?s the season of comp problems for us lot, (the family)
Dad bought a Fujitsu Esprimo laptop (vista), but it won?t type characters anywhere,

although if you hold a key down long enough (approx 3 secs) then a character will appear, although not always the character key you pressed

This happened once before, and after a bit of tinkering and luck I got it working again, but I can?t remember what I did originally,

hi everyone im new to this site i have a big problem my fujitsu laptop screen doesnt come on eerything else does just that ive also tried puting in my monitor to vga outlet but nothing can anyone suggest anything please thanks

A:fujitsu c series laptop no screen

Hi. I assume that you are pressing the key sequence to switch to external monitor (usually ctrl+ "key with pic of monitor")

If you can see that everything else works and that there is the usual disk activity at boot up and you cant get an external monitor to work on it. then you need to take it to a specialist for diagnosis or return it to the shop or manufacturer if it is still under warranty.

seems like your graphics adapter has failed and as it is part of the laptops mainboard means you cant just remove it and test it, so you should have specialist diagnose it for you>

Hello, I need help please, the OS won't load at all, I try F8, for safe mode try all the options there, but as soon as it try's to load the laptop shuts off and restarts, it won't even load the recovery cd.... Please help me fix this.. Thank you.

Try getting into the BIOS, When starting the laptop press the F2 key. Once your in the BIOS go to the Boot Menu, the change the boot order so you CD-Rom is first in the order.

Then try to boot from the recovery CD. You will also want to go to Memtest86+ - Advanced Memory Diagnostic Tool download memtest then burn the .iso image to a cd using a image burning software like imgburn; The Official ImgBurn Website

Boot from the memtest CD, then let it run for at least 1 hour or more. If any errors show up you will need to replace your RAM.

I stood on my laptop the other day <doh!> and I have cracked my screen - its an Fujitsu Amilo Li1705 laptop (15.4"), does anyone ave any idea how much this will cost to repair or if I would be better buying a new laptop

A:Cracked Screen - Fujitsu Laptop

If it's a newer model, it will probably cost at least a few hundred to replace the screen.
Cheaper option may be to check eBay for the same model that is being sold for parts.
Then either replace the screen yourself or take it to a local repair shop.

Hi all

I have a problem with my Fujitsu amilo pro v3515 laptop. When I turn it on it will not boot the screen just stays black with the wireless light and power light on, i have tried clearing the CMOS, by removing the battery, no luck, and also re-seating the memory module, no luck. the problem started recently when it worked the day before then the next day it refused to work properly. Because it did boot up sometimes but just froze when it was on the desktop or it just restarted itself. I have also noticed when it did boot up it sometimes froze in the bios as-well. I have also checked the fans and vent they have no dust in them. I have also tried swapping the CMOS battery no luck. What shall I do now, thanks

Hey all,
Need to bounce something off you guys.

I have a fujitsu laptop that when it starts up there is no activity on screen. The power, battery, hd lights come on, but absolutely nothing on screen. I attached an external VGA monitor and tried to toggle it with function+f10. Still NO activity. I hear the HD kick on. And when I pulled the HD I attached it to another laptop and was able to access the data. I also pulled both RAM chips, tried them one at a time and reseated them.

Anything else I should try before I call it?

I've been trying to repair a colleague's laptop for him but I'm having a little trouble working out what my best move is The system suffered from a reboot loop - which was Fujitsu-Siemens laptop. XP a installation of Repair Home on caused by data corruption I booted into HirenCD and ran Chkdsk which fixed the majority of the errors I was then able to get into Windows but noticed an awful lot of errors - Repair installation of XP Home on a Fujitsu-Siemens laptop. some system files was unrecoverable and corrupt His software was OEM - no CD supplied with it - and me being an absolute idiot decided that using my retail of XP Home would fix the error I performed a repair install which replaced the corrupt Windows installation from before I made note of his valid serial number However his serial number is not valid for my retail copy of the software I cannot boot into anything other than Safe mode with CMD as I get booted straight to the main screen with it asking for a valid CD key Phone activation was also unsuccessful I'm trying to minimize data loss having only intended to replace the corrupt system files What are my options for repairing this

A:Repair installation of XP Home on a Fujitsu-Siemens laptop.

You are too far gone now to do much. Have you tried your XP Home serial key?
If that doesn't work, I would boot into Safe Mode and backup the users files to a USB HDD, then boot off of your Home CD and format the drive and do a clean install. Then restore the backed up files and reinstall their programs.

I don't know if this is a hardware issue or a software issue. Whenever I press certain letters I get a numeric stroke. For example:

The only reason I'm able to type this is because I've connected another keyboard up to the laptop.

A:Solved: Fujitsu laptop keyboard showing wrong characters

Most likely you have some kind of number lock feature on. It's so you can use the letters as you would a number pad on a standard keyboard.

Try to find a key on your keyboard labeled "Num Lock" and press it (you may have to hold down something like an "Fn" key while pushing the Num Lock button).

I have a Benq 8000 that is as dead as a dodo.
The external power supply is fine, and testing pickups for the battery suggests there is power there, but otherwise it's dead.
I have swapped part between it and my old Sony Vaio laptop, well at least parts that are compatible, and everything seems to be working. Clearly I can't swap the mainboard and this has led me to suspect a faulty mainboard.
Trouble is I can't identify it to find a replacement. The middle of the board has the following information:

and on the back

But I can't find this with a google search or a reference to what the BENQ Joybook 8000 mainboard might be.

I share your doubts about the "resistors and capacitors".

With amost all components being surface mount, bery little on the motherboard is "serviceable" to that extent.

But if it is new, why are you paying for service? Revert to XP and if it still persists send it back under warranty. And don't use cracked software.

Defeating the activation is a breach of the forum rules, so expect the post to be closed at any stage.

Hi everyone,

I've had a search through the posts on the forum, and haven't really come up with anything to answer my question. I do apologise if I have missed it though!

Basically, I have installed Win 7 Prof Upgrade (from XP) on my MacBook via Bootcamp. However, this MacBook has developed a fault and is being replaced by Apple, who are sending me a new laptop.

My question: will I be able to reinstall the Win 7 upgrade (once XP is installed again of course) on my new laptop?

I'd appreciate any help or advice, many thanks in advance!

My mother-in-law has a laptop that's needing reimaged, which is okay, can do but the screen is broken, only the left hand side of the screen is working. She's been running an external monitor via VGA for the past few months so it's just the screen that's cracked not a faulty graphics card.

Question is, will the external display still work if I reimage the laptop at all or will I have to use the half dead screen to reimage it until I get the graphics drivers reinstalled?

So someone I know had me look at a laptop of theirs, an ASUS X54C laptop, which has 2 GB of non-removable RAM built into the motherboard. I used memtest86+ to check it and it immediately came back with all sorts of errors.

From the outside (minus the cover for access to the HD and RAM slots) there does not appear to be any additional RAM installed at all (the slots are empty). So I was wondering, by chance, if you add RAM into one of these slots, does the motherboard stop using the on-board RAM and switch over to the stuff you put into the slot, or does it use both the on-board and "off-board" RAM side by side?

A:Faulty Laptop Video Card

The low level functions of the video card use a vga vesa driver
that does not activate the hardware accelleration.
The problems you ar e having when the driver loads indicates
bad hardware and not a driver problem.
Being as it is a 6800 go card,it is probably replacable.
It would need to be replaced with the exact same type of card,
but not necessarily the same model.
If you want to try a newer driver, you would need to uninstall the old
one from start/control panel/add remove programs.
Download a driver here.

Hi all,

My laptop has had a 'wobbly' power socket in the back, which has finally given up altogether. I took it to a repair shop who had it for two days and when I got it back they said I would have to keep it plugged in all the time, I couldn't take the cable out as it would happen again. So I have kept it plugged in but its gone again. My hubby opened it up and found out they had just soldered the power connector back in, and it had just weakened and fell off.

So now hubby thinks I have to buy a new motherboard and PSU, is this right or is it something I can get fixed?

Thanks guys,

I recently bought a new, 3rd party power cord for my Toshiba Satellite L300 from eBay.
Recently I've noticed that my battery stops charging earlier and earlier. At first it stopped at 87%, then 83%, then 80% all in one week. I've had the computer for about a year which seems a bit early for it to start degrading so fast, so could it be the power cord?

The Toshiba cord says Model: PA-1750-29, Input: 100-240V~ 50-60Hz 1.5A, Output: 19V[solid line above a dotted line]3.95A
The 3rd party cord says Model: PA-34671ACA, Input: 100-240V~1.5A 50/60Hz, Output: 19V[solid over dotted]3.95A

If the new cord is harmful to my battery, I can just solder its input plug onto the Toshiba charger (that's the only bit that was broken) but I'd rather not risk breaking two power cords if I don't need to.

I believe drivers? faulty BSOD 116 card or graphics faulty the initial crash was caused by overheating Based on the fact that I have gotten it to work for a short amount of time more on that later Booting up with the drivers for my graphics card enabled causes BSOD to appear but when it is disabled everything is fine I can boot into safe mode and I have already reinstalled windows My motherboard is Asus B M-e and my graphics card is Nvidia EV A GTX How I got it to work for a short amount of time I reinstalled windows and then installed my integrated Ethernet driver After that was out of the way I installed and used driver booster to install the rest of my drivers I then noticed there was a missing driver that the program could not install that was named Simple PCI Controller So I thought I should install that driver using my motherboard's driver installation disk It then worked up until I decided to change the settings in Nvidia Control panel I also do not know how faulty graphics cards behave so it might be my graphics card The game I was playing when this started was Life is Strange if that is needed

A:Faulty DVD drive on high-grade laptop

I can't find W76S on Hi-Grade's site, so I don't know what extras the laptop has. And their FTP server for driver download appears to be offline. Do you still have the CD/DVD w/ device drivers that came with the laptop? Perhaps try reinstalling the drivers for the webcam, card-reader, etc. from that disc.

The other option is take a look at Device Manager. Look at the properties for those w/ exclamation marks. There should be a Details tab. Select Hardware Ids under Property, and you should get couple things in the Value box. Hopefully, the 1st one will help you identify the make and from there, the right driver. If not, try using the 2nd value.

I got a new laptop recently (this past Sunday) and ever since I turned it on I've had horrible issues with WiFi. It's tothe point where I'm ready to return it to the store and just go without a computer. Keep in mind I'm not very tech savvy, so I might not know what you're talking about.

It's very slow and won't stay connected to the internet. 4/5 times it doesn't load the web page I'm trying to load and after about 5 minutes after powering on it disconnects from my Wi-Fi and refuses to reconnect. The troubleshooter says it's a router issue but resetting the router doesn't do anything at all and no other device in the house is having any issues. I haven't downloaded ANYTHING to it yet. In addition, when it /does/ connect to my Wi-Fi, trying to open any web page brings me to a "you are not connected to the internet" notice.

I have no idea what to do. I need a computer for work but I'm so sick of having problems with them.

A:Brand new laptop; faulty wifi process?

Set up the laptop next to the router where the signal should be strongest. Are you sure that you are connecting to your own wi fi network and router? When you switch on the laptop it will search for in range networks and when you spot your own you are asked to give the password before you can use the internet for the first time. If that's not happening maybe its logging you on to a neighbouring unsecured network (no password set) where the signal is weak. If I click on the wireless icon bottom right in my taskbar it brings up a choice of available networks. My icon looks like a set of steps and so the icon shows how strong the signal is. Check that you are connecting to your own router and see how strong the signal is. You mention other devices that work OK but haven't given any details.

I currently have a XPS 12-9Q33 laptop that is not charging. The light at the end of the power adapter is no longer lighting up so it appears to be faulty. I've called Dell to purchase a new adapter but was told that they no longer sell replacements for them and was recommended to buy an adapter from a 3rd party source.
I purchased a replacement with the same voltage and amperage that is supposed to work on a XPS 12. The laptop now powers on but will not charge. The BIOS states that the adapter is unknown and will not allow it to charge.
What can I do now? I find it really frustrating that I cannot get a direct replacement from Dell themselves so I'm stuck with a laptop that is not portable at all since the battery is at 0%

A:XPS 12 Power Adapter Faulty. Cannot charge laptop.

Third party adapters usually do not have required logic circuit to complete the batter charging loop.  It's easy to find genuine, OEM Dell adapters:

Two times in the last week my monitor (a KDS visual sensations CRT) has come on with the image looking like an hourglass (wide at the top and bottom, pinched in the center). This happened imediately upon boot up and both times rebooting has returned the monitor to normal, leaving the computer running does not bring the problem back. Which is more likely, that my monitor is beginning to fail or maybe my graphics card (a saphire, ATI radeon 7000) is failing? Is there some way (other than swaping my monitor out and trying another as this seems so far to be an intermitent problem and may not arise when a new monitor is conected) to check and see which it may be?

Hi First off I posted in here because my problem mainly had to do with Networking Driver issues before it went into Laptop Freezing Adapter Problems Wireless + (Faulty?) computer freezes and stuff like that so feel free to move this thread if I'm wrong One of my laptops has been facing a driver issue recently and it's driving me crazy it's the laptop I bring for education study purposes this one I'm using to post is a giant and not exactly portable - Alienware Malfunctioning Laptop specs Dell Inspiron Windows -bit GB RAM It all started when the wifi suddenly disappeared from my network center only to discover it having (Faulty?) Wireless Adapter Problems + Laptop Freezing problems in Device Manager exclamation mark After trying to disable and renable it to test it disappeared until several minutes later when it randomly shows itself and it was working for a while until the laptop suddenly decided to freeze on me No crash reports no error messages just couldn't move the mouse or use anything Restarting the laptop randomly brought it back on a few occasions but it would freeze nevertheless after a couple minutes of use System Restore didn't work and every time I tried to quot Scan for hardware changes quot in Device Manager to try and regain the default driver when one of my restarts didn't bring it back it froze over and over After uninstalling the wifi adapter through an external program - Driver Booster however the computer no longer froze and I could use it normally just without wifi which I need I tried installing the latest driver version from the Dell website in order to try and bring it back but it failed at first appearing to only install the Bluetooth suite before a few minutes later again it would randomly show up and bring back the same problems freezing Have I just been trying to fix a faulty wireless adapter card all this time

Go to a site such as and enter your PC information and see what RAM is suggested. You can only use the type of RAM supported by the motherboard. In any case, Crucial will provide accurate information.

CPU will depend upon the socket AND the BIOS. Check with the manufacturer to see which cpu's are supported.

HDD cost is irrelevant, as the HDD can always be moved to another PC. As it's use is only as a media server, I'd leave the cpu alone, upgrade the RAM, and save the money for a new PC.

Ive just been given an old FUJITSU desktop pc.
No monitor, or keyboard, or mouse.
Its a bit beaten up.
And i think somethings missing from inside,
i cant see the sound card so thats probably whats missing.

Does anyone know anything about this machine?
The motherboard is a MB-8500SAC from 'Biostar'
The processor is a 75 mz Pentium,
the rest seems complete, ram is in place, HD looks intact,
CD and A drive look a bit battered.

I cant see where to put the mouse.
Odd. I can see the keyboard socket ...
Where does the mouse go?

Is anyone familiar with this machine?

I think i'll fire it up and see what happens.
Wish me luck,

Have you tried installing Thisdriver in compatability for Vista?

It only supports 32bit but you can disable 64bit driver checking if you boot Se7en and press F8 to get the boot selection menu.

Hope this helps

I have been using my computer (Fujitsu n5010) for almost 2 years with hardly any issues. Long story short I left my computer on all night in the morning I opened it and the screensaver was gone replaced by a screen that looked like the equivalent of static on a tv set. It also was stuck and when it came out of hibernate mode it refused to perform. I couldnt reboot properly so I turned it off manually. Now the comp wont get past the windows xp logo it behaves as if it is going to boot up but after about 7-8 seconds it loops me back to the "safe mode" startup screen. I have tried every option on this screen but nothing seems to work. I also tried to boot from the startup disk and it doesnt want to read the disk, Please help

A:Fujitsu n5010 please help

Are you able to boot in safe mode? If so, run a chkdsk on the hard drive from there. To boot from the startup disk, are you setting the boot order to boot from the optical drive before the hard drive?

Try reading through my post

Basically, try changing your hard disk mode to AHCI or non-raid.

Hope this helps,

Hi could someone point me in the right direction. I have a new siemens primergy tx 150 s4 server for a customer. I need to setup the disk mirroring for the second hard disk and have been told to do this i need to convert the primary hard disk to dynamic. at the moment i cannot see the second disk. i then need to be able to access the GAM software which asks for a username and password, which i have setup, but it does not allow me access to it. I also cannot setup the alarms to alert that there has been a failure on the system.
Is there some sort of setup procedure for these servers that needs to be followed, as the technologic information you get with them is immense, and pretty hard going to read.

Any direction that could be given would be greatly appreciated.

Hi I m Steve I m currently living in Japan and am not a very good Japanese reader so appologies for the rather simple questions I ve acquired someone I upgrade a Fujitsu c600? Can threw it out honesly a Fujitsu FMV C- box It s got a GHZ Celron CPU SL C GHz and otherwise works after a little bit of fixing here amp there I d really like to upgrade the CPU and have been eyeing a GHz Celron - though I can t quite make out the actual CPU spec s through the shop window other than it s a MHz FSB The questions I have are Can I simlpy plug amp play Can I upgrade a Fujitsu c600? with a similar FSB CPU and expect it to work eg replace the above Celeron GHz with a GHz version having the same FSB speed Or do I also need to consider the voltage support Max temp it s rather hot over here The M b in this case is a Gigabyte OEM version - KBG rev sadly I ve only so far found instances of this m b in Italy amp Germany as well as Japan and Gigabyte s site makes no mention of it so I m stuck when it comes to whether or not I can upgrade Is the CPU plug amp play replacement going to be dictated by the motherboard assuming FSB is the same or by the BIOS as an aside the M b takes PC memory if that helps The Manufacturer s web site however does say that there are two versions of the same PC produced with a Pentium A GHz and P GHz processor though doesn t say what version of processor http www fmworld net biz fmv product hard vdt custom c html If FSB is the all important factor then I could even upgrade to GHz what s your view opinion should I take a step into the unknown amp simply try it Edit Please use proper thread titles from now on Thanks nbsp

A:Can I upgrade a Fujitsu c600?

hmm.. i'm not too familiar with the fujitsu c600 but i'm guessing its a laptop correct?

The main thing as far as i know about changing processors is to look at the Socket type or Pin type.. after all, a 487pin CPU can't fitt into a socket with 775 pins get the idea?

You can try finding out a bit more about your hardware by using a hardware reader like SIW (if you're running windows) or Everest Home etc. Then you can look at what processors are compatible and which ones you can choose from.

I have had this prob for quite a while, on my fujitsu siemens T-Bird, onboard graphics and sound, chipset inte i810, mobo, micro star ms-6178.

It installs the fujistu windows me disc no problem at all, but I have tried to upgrade/install xp professional, but it gets so far, and a error comes up saying a certain file is missing. Now I have tried my xp disc on another machine with the same drive and it installs and runs perfectly, I also tried with a different drive on the fujitsu rig but I still get the same error.

I can only think that the fujitsu is blocking it from installing.

Any thoughts??

A:Fujitsu Siemens XP conflict

What file is missing? Also you do not need to install ME to install XP, even if its the upgrade. All you have to do is put in the ME CD when it asks for proof of an older windows. Sometimes there may be an update that is required to install XP on an older machine such as a BIOS update - check Fujitsu Siemens site or MSI.

And if this is an burnt copy of XP, then thats the problem.

How fast is the CPU and how much RAM is in it - it may not be worthwhile putting XP on it if its going to run slow.
