I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

A: Realtek HD audio manager, change a mic port to a headphones port?

I doubt very much if this will be possible. The mic and headphone ports are wired directly to the Audio section of the motherboard, there connections cannot be altered.

Your best bet is to get the damaged port repaired.

If I'm understanding what you're trying to say, it sounds like your headphone port is not recognizing that the headphones have been plugged in. I would first try plugging in another set of headphones to see if the problem is the port or the headphones.

Also, did your headphones come with a CD, driver, or any other installation help? What about an instruction booklet from the manufacturer? Can you call the manufacturer's tech support to ask for help?

Also, have you checked your IDT Audio settings? Go to the Control Panel and open the IDT Audio Control Panel? Under "Speakers and Dual Headphones? go to the Playback section and then click on Settings. Check: 'Set as default.'

Simple problem that has been confusing me lately I m using a Acer Aspire - Laptop running Audio Manager Realtek problem headphones HD Windows Vista On it is Realtek HD Audio Manager and it has been causing me some problems with headphones To elaborate they simply don t work except on random occurances The speakers put out sound as normal but when I plug in my headphones ANY pair of headphones no sound comes out of them and the speakers continue to function as normal It s wierder then that though rarely the headphones WILL have sound come out of them but the speakers are still putting out sound as well The only way the headphones themselves have ever worked is when I go into the Windows sound manager and pressed the main mute button which muted the speakers but not the headphones Now not even the headphones work though so that method is moot For reference the Realtek driver is last updated on I m going to update it today have to do Realtek HD Audio Manager headphones problem so from the library but I doubt that ll work given the wierdness of this Realtek HD Audio Manager headphones problem problem nbsp

I recently purchased a new desktop for myself, and upon trying to plugin my apple headphones to watch netflix, I found that I was having some trouble.

When I plugin my apple head phones, I get a popup that looks like this:

and I choose line in (so that the mic and the speaker can both work on the headphones so I can talk in skype).

After selecting that, I'm presented with this page:

From there, I have no idea what to do to get my mic and speaker on the headphones to work. I tried the sound settings in control panel, and I tested the speakers but I didn't hear anything from them.

Appreciate any help.

A:Realtek Audio Manager Line In (Apple Headphones)

First, you need the Mic input for the microphone. Computer mic's (at least PC computer mic's) require 5VDC for the mic to work. Only a Mic input has this. The line input is two channel stereo and does not provide the needed 5VDC.

The Headphone side is different and independent of the microphone.

Recording, you want the CD Quality, 16bits 44.1Khz for standard audio. That is what is used for commercial CD's, audio wav files, etc.

Hello everyone!

I got my new headphones today, but the sound isn't working. I plugged them into the audio jacks, and realtek audio manager recognized them and said that an audio device has been plugged in. The mic is working fine, its just the headphones that don't work.

The headphones aren't muted, "Realtek digital output" is set as the default device (I'm not sure if that's the headphones, my old headphones broke and I haven't had any for a few months now so I don't remember what it was like before). I've tried inserting them into the audio jacks on the back, but that doesn't work either.

Any suggestions?

I'm on Windows 8.1 64 bit if that matters.

A:Realtek audio manager recognizing headphones but no sound?

Huh, I seem to have fixed it myself. I'll post the answer here just in case anyone is as clueless as me!

I was going through all the devices listed under "playback devices". I right clicked on all and looked at the "jack information" section. I found out the Realtek HD Audio 2nd output was the one that was connected to the front audio jack.

When I connected my headphones to the audio jack, when the Realtek audio manager asks you what type of device it is, I had to click "Headphones" instead of "Line In" like I did with my previous headset.
Then you go into playback devices and set the Reaktek HD Audio 2nd output as your default device. If you're using a program like Skype you might have to go into audio settings in the program and change it there as well.

If you don't have the Realtek HD audio 2nd output in your playback devices: Open the Realtek audio manager, and at the top by the close/minimize button click the settings button. Go into options, and tick "Make front and rear output devices play two different audio streams simultaneously".

Hey guys, as you can guess I'm using Realtek HD Audio Manager. Now, every time you plug in a device, it asks you to pick what it is- in my case it's "Headphones" or "Front Speakers Out"(at least, for me, that's what it says.) Unfortunately, it seems the default is Front Speakers, which is annoying because I find a distinct different between the two. And I don't really want to have to change the setting manually, every time I restart, or change a setting(It reverts back to Front Speakers Out every time I do that.)

Would anyone have any idea how I can prevent this? Thank you. I'm using Windows 7 64 bit, if that helps.

When trying to use my Bose Soundtrue headphones with inline mic and a Y splitter for sound and mic it stops working in windows 7. I thought it just wasn't compatible somehow but I did a driver upgrade and then all of a sudden it works swimmingly for a while. Then it stops. Reboot doesn't fix it. I have my monitor hooked up via HDMI and I do have a logitech web cam. Attached is a picture of my recording devices.

A:How Do I change Com.port 1 to Com.port 3? My modem is silent. Dual booting problem

What do you mean by changing COM1 to COM3? Do you want to move a device? Reassign IRQs? Physically pick one up off the motherboard and move it?

Your modem sound is usually configured in two places. One is in the Control Panel, and the other is in the Dial-up Networking settings. Adjust the volume there.

Are you running Windows 2000 and Windows 98 on separate paritions (drive letters)? If so, you'll need to use special software to convert the FAT32 file system to NTFS. I believe Parition Magic will allow this without data loss. However, I would never make such a large system change without first backing up data. There is always the chance that everything could get wiped out.

How does one change the kbps speed in RealTek Audio Manager?
I have this setup:
Win 7 Home Premium 64bit, I5, 6GB RAM, and
RealTek HD Audio Manager:
Audio Driver Version:
DirectX VersionirectX 11.0
Audio Controller:HD Audio
Audio Codec:ALC892

This is what I'm doing:
Right-click on the Realtek HD Audio Manager icon in the system tray. Select "Sound Manager."
Select the "Default Format" tab. Select a sample rate and bit rate from the drop-down menu.
I choose 16Bits, 192,000 Hz.

Click "OK" to close the audio manager(there is no 'OK', I 'X' out the program).

Right-click on the Realtek HD Audio Manager icon again. Select "Sound Recorder."
Press the "Start Recording" button to start recording.
It records at 92kbps, not what I have chosen.
How do I get this to record at the kbps that I choose?

A:How does one change the kbps speed in RealTek Audio Manager?

What do you need 16 bit 192KHz for? CD standard audio is 16 bits 44.1Khz. I have a recording studio and record at 24 bit 44.1Khz but when I do final mixdown its to the "standard" 16 bits 44.1Khz.

The only thing higher bit rates are going to do for you is create bigger music files.

It's been a year since I migrated from Windows XP to Windows 7 which I downloaded Realtek HD Audio Manager R2.70 and audio has been working fine except the only issue it didn't come with 'Stereo Mix' preventing capability to record sound direct from the soundcard. It took me 14 months to restore Stereo Mix as each time I was told to update audio drivers I would update HD Audio Manager so what is the difference between these two Realtek ?

I installed Realtek HD Audio Driver R2.72 last night and it restored Stereo Mix which now enables me to record system sound whilst using screen recorders.

Realtek HD Audio Manager is a software driver used on Windows computers. It handles recording and playback of audio programs. It is required for many audio programs to operate.

While Realtek HD Audio Drivers is a tool that allows you to listen to audio in HD on your PC.

Stereo Mix is used to transfer audio that the PC is playing to recording software such as Audacity, so that you can record what you?re hearing.

When one upgrade their OS like in your case from XP to Win7 with the same motherboard and sound card it is always advised & recommended to download the latest soundcard driver, because the only thing that had changed was the operating system.

The advice is not to go to windows for it, but to go to the motherboard manufacturer, because it would be specialised for the system rather than a generic driver, which might not be as good, or even cause problems.

A:Realtek HD Audio - No Sound through speakers \ headphones

I just went through this with another user and a Gigabyte motherboard. Never really resolved it as the user didn't want to do a complete reinstall. Everything else had been done and the user still had the problem.

However, lets try on yours.

First thing, go to the Device Manager, RIGHT click on the entry for the RealTek sound and then LEFT click "Uninstall". DO NOT uninstall the drivers. Restart the PC and when Windows starts it will detect and reinstall the sound.

If that does not fix it, uninstall the RealTek in the device manager but ALSO Uninstall the drivers. Then restart and when Windows starts, it will install the sound but it should be with the generic Windows "High Definition Audio Driver". See if the sound works with this configuration. If it does, it sounds like the RealTek driver you have may be corrupt. Download the R2.75 High Definition Codecs driver direct from RealTek and see how that works.

Unplug all your inputs.
Plug in one device at a time.
If the Realtek software is functioning properly you should see a pop up after plugging in the green main speaker plug.

After confirming by pressing OK, you should get the following.

You should then plug in the black input and go through the confirmation process, again.

When connected to the front of my computer however, realtek detects my headphones as headphones, and the sound is much louder, however for practical reasons I prefer to have my headphones plugged into the back of computer, but the low volume is a bit of a problem.

A:Realtek HD audio recognizes my headphones as speakers

The rear GREEN speaker jack is for amplified computer speakers. When something is plugged in to that jack, the PC will assume its speakers, since that is what the jack is designated.

So I had this fresh Windows install Everything was normal I plugged my earbuds into the cable and the cable into the and since Audio Realtek install partialy HD headphones only work Mic rear green and pink I Os As always Now I was able to hear everyone and everyone were able to hear me its just that when I listen to music and talk to friends on Skype or play games while on Skype my friends can hear everything I do and its annoying So I figured I need to install realtek HD audio drivers Once I did I was able to hear them but they weren't able to hear me My mic stopped working and the weird part is that they were able to hear my Windows sounds All the sound tests I've done they were able to hear it but not my voice I uninstalled the driver and from their it was a total disaster I disabled and enabled drivers updated them through Windows updates and all of the sudden the mic works but I can't hear Mic and headphones only partialy work since Realtek HD Audio install anything then after another restart and changes Mic and headphones only partialy work since Realtek HD Audio install I can hear everything but the mic doesn't work I'm completely lost and sick of doing system restarts all the time Currently my mic seems to work but I can't hear anything Why And what should I do EDIT I just uninstalled Nvidia HD Audio drivers and installed only realtek Only mic doesn't work but speakers and headphones do work

A:Mic and headphones only partialy work since Realtek HD Audio install

The RealTek needs to be set as the default audio playback device. The NVIDIA HD is only for HDMI audio. If there is an HDMI cable plugged in, Windows will automatically set the NVIDIA as the default playback device and the Realtek will not work. If there is no HDMI cable plugged in, NVIDIA will not take over.

Stereo Mix needs to be set as the default recording device. Then whatever device you have plugged in, such as a microphone will work.

If you have front panel mic and headset connections, those would seem to be easier to access than the rear connections.

Everything was working fine until about 9 months ago. I have tried switching settings on realtek and the windows control panel to headphone mode, but no matter what settings are on, my computer fails to mute the speakers when playing through headphones. There are absolutely NO troubleshooting topics on windows or realtek websites about this. Help!

A:My Realtek Audio Driver Plays Headphones and Speakers

I think I remember in the realtek settings on my old computer it said something along the lines of "disable front audio when headphone is plugged in" with a check box to toggle on and off.

-- do you see any settings resembling that?
If you have already found the on/off and it does not work, try uninstalling and re-installing the audio drivers and software.

A:Headphones vs Monitor: HDMI audio, SRS for Monitors, & Realtek ???

Normally, when you have something connected to the HDMI port on the PC, the HDMI becomes the default audio playback device. Thus the regular PC audio (Realtek in your case) is not used. This would account for not having headphone audio. You can manually change the default playback device to "Speakers" (your PC sound device) and then you should get the headphone sound. I would suspect you will have to do this every time you boot your PC.

If i connect my headset with microphone to port in my PC's front, it notifys both new microphone (line out) and headphones (line in) (no usb, dont remeber what its called in english, ports also working cause notifys new devices).

I have Windows 7 installed and Realtek HD Audio Manager and its newest drivers. Microphone also works if i plug it to back of the PC (considering swapping between speakers and headset, would really prefer if didnt need to use ports behind PC). I also gone thru settings etc. and as far i can tell, it should work.

The problem is: I can't access it on my alienware device since it is completely replaced by your poor version of it "Alienware Audio" wich does not have any of the options I need. How could I restore the original version of this software or at least disable the alienware audio version?

Internet Service Personal Router Static IP MAC address of LAN Port or WAN Port

Hello friends,

I have purchased static IP from Local ISP Provider . Problem is that the tech support of local ISP provider is asking em

Which Port would you like to bind your Static IP

Also they ask me whats the MAC Address of Router
Pls see attached screenshot
As you can see Internet port - 74:44:01:94:E0:79
Whereas LAN Port has mac address - 74:44:01:94:E0:78

Which is routers mac address?

I have no idea.

I know we have two ports in router (mine is Netgear 300N Model)
1. WAN (Internet) Port
2. LAN Port
Could anyone really help in explaining me
1. Which one is routers mac address
2. Static ip should be binded to LAN or WAN Port

Pls guide Thank You

P.S. I intend to use DVR for CCTV for remote viewing later

I Don't know what your talking about directly but I'm willing to try. Can you explain a little better what the isp person is asking you? From the screenshot I know the bottom section is your local connection and the top part is your WAN connection. If that helps any.

Has anyone had any issues with the Precision 7510 only outputting through one DisplayPort output on the E-Port Plus Advanced Port Replicator? Our organization recently started to introduce Precision 7510 units to our employees, and we're finding that they will only output to one single monitor connected via DisplayPort through the E-Port Plus Advanced Port Replicators - even though there are two monitors connected into the two DisplayPort outputs on the E-Port Plus APR. If the monitors are connected via DVI, the Precision 7510 is able to output to both of them through the E-Port Plus APR. We have tried Precision M4800, Latitude E7450, and Latitude E7470 units in these E-Port Plus APR's with two monitors connected into the two DisplayPort outputs - and they all work correctly. The Precision 7510 units have the NVIDIA Quadro M1000M video cards, and the E-Port Plus APR's are connected to either a pair of P2417 monitors or a pair of U2414 monitors.

I have been using an DSL Siemens speedstream 6520 router at home. I usually carry out some R&D by placing servers behind the router. I access the services on each of the servers from the ouside using port forwarding and it has been working fine for http, ftp, RDP, any user defined ports etc but in the case of port 25 SMTP its not working at all. I have checked the port on the local lan and I am able to telnet to that server but from the outside only on this port 25 I am not able to telnet. But If i were to change the SMTP port number from 25 to any other port like 24 or 26, I am able to telnet from the outide. Is there any way i can make SMTP port 25 to work and access the same from the outside.

Hello, I am an IT Technician for an electric cooperative. I am having a very odd issue that I can not seem to resolve and I am in need of assistance.

Whenever I connection through bluetooth with the GPS I am able to pair but the GPS control software never recognizes it when I chose the COM port assigned to it. Whenever I connect it directly through a cable(serial to usb) it never detects it either.

However this is the odd part, when I test this on my desktop I am able to connect just fine with the exact same method.

Have you tried a different port to see if that port is being blocked by your ISP?

I also see that your parsing TCP to UDP, probably doesn't make a difference to the port being open or closed but it might be better to set them both the same or set to Any.

Another problem you may encounter is your IP may change, most ISP's like to change your IP every so often so you may have to set up a DDNS with a hostname in order to access the services you want remotely.

A:USB Change the port

Computer type, make and model ?  What do you mean when you say you have 'A USB portable'.
The whole beauty of USB ports is that any USB equipment can connect to any USB port without you changing anything. There are one or two exceptions to this general rule. You will occasionally come across USB ports classed as 'Charging ports' but all this means is that they are capable of supplying a higher current than normal so you can charge say a mobile phone from them. And USB 3 will work in USB 2, and USB 2 will work in USB 1 (as will USB 3) but they will work at the lower speed.

A:device manager not seeing my 1394 port

First, as the Firewire (1394) is not showing up at all suggests a hardware or connection problem. First step, power off the PC, open the case and "reseat" the PCI card (unplug then plug back in). Power the PC back up and see if Windows detects it (may detect new hardware and install it), in the Device Manager. If it does detect and reinstalls it, this should take care of the problem.

In reference to the "legacy" USB in the BIOS. Generally (most cases) this should be enabled so you get USB 2.0 operation. Without this in some computers you will only get USB 1.1. Check the Device Manager and the USB section, if you have an entry that includes "enhanced controller" then you have USB 2.0. If the enhanced controller is not shown then enable the legacy USB as this usually enables the enhanced controller/USB 2.0 operation. Don't ask me why "legacy" adds 2.0 but I know that is the case in many Dell's.

Have gone on thinkpad config and enabled the modem but as soon as you leave that screen it goes back to disble. Thanks....Terry

Before anything I don't know where to post this Is it a hardware installation or setup question Anyway here it goes brought exactly Windows USB while to in Go use Port Change from Technet where I didn't get any answers so far Hi tl dr - How do I change the USB port that Windows to Go listens the drive while in use long version I have this computer with an Asus P H -LE Motherboard As you expect it doesn't pack USB ports But it does come with some nifty PCI-E Change Windows to Go USB Port while in use x slots so I've bought a random USB PCI-E card with pin for front panel Works amazingly Fast and beautiful exactly what I've expected BUT it doesn't have its own BIOS or something so my UEFI BIOS cannot boot from devices connected to it In fact it doesn't even detect anything there until I boot up to the O S And I have this Windows to Go Setup Works like a charm on USB but sometimes I feel the bottleneck and wouldn't hurt using my only USB device on those USB ports eh I've tried disconnecting and reconnecting it on USB but WTG just ignores it as if it weren't there Even when I connect to a different USB port it doesn't detect This USB port remapping would serve for other uses too Once I've connected my drive to a client's computer for repairs But it took longer than I expected and I had it connected on the front USB I needed to connect other thumb and external hard drives and had to use the rear USB ports for this because WTG didn't detect anywhere else Is there a way to do it thru a hack workaround or something Or just no way at all Thank you Mods if I've posted it on the wrong subforum don't feel shy to move it to the right place if it ain't the bin

If your BIOS doesn't recognize it I'm afraid no "hack" to windows can help there as it happens way before windows come into the picture. Couldn't you find an adapter that is bootablle like those ones for HDD ?

A friend of mine has an piano keyboard that he wants to connect to his computer so he can record from it. The documentation that came with the keyboard indicated that he needed an available COM port. Right now, the only available port he has is the LPT1 port. Can he use that port? The adapter that came with the keyboard is for a serial port. Apparently the only serial port he has is the one for the mouse. I don't know if it is possible to change a parallel port to a serial port. I looked in some books that I have, but couldn't find anything. I suggested that he purchase a serial port card so he can use the keyboard. I would appreciate any help. Thanks.

A:Change LPT1 to COM port?

You cannot change a parallel port (LPT1) to a serial port. They are two completely different animals. However, most systems have 2 serial ports built into the motherboard. Older systems may have 2 different types of connectors accessible from the rear of the computer. One would be a 9 pin male and the other a 25 pin male. If your friends system has that configuration, you can replace the 25 pin with a 9 pin and use it that way. Make sure the port is hooked up and enabled in the BIOS SETUP.

So, the title says it all. The speakers of my Acer Predator 15 (Predator G9-591) are not working and taking a look at the HD Audio Manager says that the headphones jack is plugged in, even though there is nothing plugged in. I already used high pressure air cleaner, but that didn't work. I still think there is something wrong with the port.

I re-installed my drivers (based on the drivers from the Acer site), so I have no idea what else to do.

I'm running Windows 10.

My computer uses Realtek's HD Audio Manager, and I have 2 front speakers, 2 rear speakers, and a subwoofer. So, I set the manager to 5.1 and unchecked the box labeled center speaker to indicate that I don't have one. However, the center and subwoofer output use the same jack, and my subwoofer receives no signal when I uncheck the center speaker. If I leave the center speaker box checked, it tries to make my sub act as a center speaker, making my music and videos sound horrible. If I plug my iPod in and have the center speaker option unchecked, then it will use my sub. I run Windows Vista x64 and I do not use an external sound card.

So basically my Mic aint working...

This has something to do with the wonderful invention that is Realtek Sound Manager.

but I dont know what.. or how to fix it...

and it's driving me nuts.. this comp is like 3 months old, a bit early for it to start acting up...

Thr problem is that when I use the push to talk button in either counter strike source, teamspeak or messenger, it just relays my computer sound from the speakers threw the mic (or something like that) so instead of my jammering the other players only hear Game sound or themself.

Can anyone help me??

Easiest place for the drivers,

You don't list your motherboard, but I would assume you will need the HD Codec driver and not the AC97 one.

As for you other question you'll have to wait for someone that uses their Realtek onboard sound.
