Preferred Solution: Darwin Streaming Server Web cam software for windows?

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/directdownload.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I have installed Darwin Streaming Server and the main objective is to view the .sdp file in windows media player 11 generated by wirecast broadcaster which is a live video broadcast .

By right window media player doesn`t support the playing of mpeg4 format. i installed a few codecs and get WMP to play mpeg4 files to play successfully.

While playing live broadcast which is in mpeg4 format,it manage to play but appears to be black screen all along. Both Quicktime and Real player manage to play the file.

anyone knows what should i do to resolve this problem or any settings should be done?

got windows 2003 running streaming media server. I can access perfectly fine inside my LAN but have difficulty accessing from outside (WAN).

When accessing from outside my LAN through router it comes up to "Locating media" then gets stuck up on "READY". My upload is 512Kbps and media that i am uploading is of 100Kbps.

What do you think could be wrong?

Thanks,

Is there anyone out there who could possibly walk me through setting up a Streaming Media Server (or so I think it's called). My goal is to have it... so that I can have a webpage with a little windows media player window in it so that people can view a video that I put up while it downloads onto their computer. Anyone who knows other ways of doing this... I'm open for suggestions. Thanks!

Im having an entirely different problem. Sleep works just fine, but Im running a media server, and windows goes to sleep while the media server is streaming. How can I prevent this from happening? Im using this server: https://code.google.com/p/ps3mediaserver/

multimedia settings \ when sharing media is set to "prevent idling to sleep"

A:windows goes to sleep while the media server is streaming

Hmm I actually heard of a little piece of software that tells the computer your mouse is always moving (without actually moving your mouse) so that it won't go to sleep. I'll try to find where it was real quick...

Also, couldn't you just disable your computer from going to sleep at all? Right-click on your desktop, go to Personalize, (on windows 7 it might just have a Screen Saver option when you right click instead; I can't remember) and there should be an option to set it to never sleep. If that doesn't work let me know and I think there's an option in Power Settings...

Or did you just want it to not sleep when you're streaming? That would be a bit more tricky...

I can't find that mouse moving program, but this one will work just as well: Give your computer insomnia [Free tool and source code to temporarily prevent a machine from going to sleep!] - Delay's Blog - Site Home - MSDN Blogs just scroll down a bit for the download.

I am thinking about upgrading our server at work and I am trying to put together some rough numbers for hardware and software to see if the project will get any support One I Do Server really Windows software? need big ticket item is the operating system In my environment I can t see the benefit of something like Server rather than Do I really need Windows Server software? XP Our current network is composed of about XP based pc s and one NT server It was originally setup as a client server but evolved to a peer to peer with the server being just a place to store data on drives in a RAID configuration We have two primary applications that use shared data One is Microsoft Access which will work just fine on peer to peer The other is Peachtree Complete Accounting This is the one that depends on the structure of the network the most Previous versions where compatible with NT but the latest version of the software required Windows Server or for client server operation But since it will also function in a peer to peer environment we just changed the location of the data to one of the XP boxes All the pc s can access the internet through a SMC router that is connected to a satellite so currently we are in no way depending on the server for that What are the downsides for me if I just build a pc with raid drives and such but go with XP rather than Server Should I consider Vista Budget is a definite concern So I don t want to have to spend a lot on software if I don t have to And I don t have a lot of time to manage it either so simpler is better too Any thoughts on a recommended processor and or board I am thinking about a Dual AMD Opteron Thanks nbsp

For the most reliable HDs for 24/7 there is still nothing better than SCSII harddisks, they cost more, but outperform anything.
Western Digital or Seagate are the leaders here.

Hi there. This is the first time I use this forum, so don't know if I'm posting in the correct place.

OK, my problem is this. I've got a video clip which I would like to put on my website. After searching from the web for video streaming solutions, I found this method of streaming the video from a web server instead of through a streaming server:

http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/howto/articles/webserver.aspx

Now the question is, it only works with IE, but NOT with Netscape and Firefox when I tried. Does anyone know why that is??? Can anyone please tell me what I can do to make that work???

Thanks!!!

I've spent a few hours on researching this topic. I can't seem to find what I'd need.

Currently I'm looking for a solution. I have about 50 franchised offices. We've played a TV in each of them. Is it possible to put a device in each office and have a "Server" type device to push content over a VPN to them? Also naturally display this on the TVs.

I have a 2 PCs that are randomly powering off. One more than the other. Both are giving the same symptoms but I have no clue how to figure out what is going on. I need help from a software to figure these out.

1) Event logs are clean no stop signs or exclamtion points prior to shutdown.
2) Just gives an indicator last shutdown was unexpected.
3) memtest runs through fine.
4) Shutdown is 100% random not any timed thing.
5) Happens when idle and at full use.
6) No blue screen at all.
7) No dump files.
8) Different power sources have been used/on top of the fact one is a laptop with a fine battery.

I am all out of troubleshooting ideas. Any thoughts on something that is a realtime system monitor that might catch WHY these systems are shutting down?

Hi all,

I?m new to this forum so hope you guys can help. I?m having some trouble getting the REAL Helix Basic streaming server working on my site.

I can access it fine on the server but it cannot be accessed externally from the internet.

The URL is: http://www.playfulchat.com/site.html

Here is a bit of info about the whole set up:

The Router (81.152.40.190 dynamic IP):
Set on port 8080
Forwards port 80 to local IP 192.168.1.2
Forwards port 8081 to port 8081 on local IP 192.168.1.2

The Web Server:
Apache
Set on port 80

Helix Server:
RTSP Port 554
PNA Port 7070
HTTP Port 8081
MMS Port 1755
Monitor Port 9090

What I need to know is how to set up the Real Producer and the rest of the system to work together? it?s a bit confusing.

Anyone is welcome to contact me via MSN or Yahoo Messenger if they can help.

Cheers, Mike

I am dated on things HTPC/Home-Entertainment and need a puzzle piece:
What is the right way to pull content off the web [say PBS documentaries from their site] and make available to all the HDTV's connected by ethernet and COAX to household fabric? Presumably the same network & server setup would stream stored movies, home vid, etc to any of the HDTV's.

Digging the web, I see a lot of tutorials, ideas, devices to do the reverse: stream all things to ipads/droids/pc/mac but not easily seeing what I describe.

pls help me get up the curve!

A:Streaming web content from one 'server' to Multi-HDTV

As long as the HDTVs support DLNA:
How to Turn Your Computer Into a DLNA Media Server

Many routers also have DLNA servers built into them and will stream media files from USB hard drives connected to them.

I have a Network Attached Storage (NAS) that has all my movies and TV Shows stored on it. It also has a DLNA server built in, but I use Kodi on my main HTPC which doesn't use DLNA to connect to the stored media - it does it's own, much nicer, interface.
My NAS:
D-Link Products - DNS-325 - ShareCenter 2-Bay Network Storage Enclosure, (2) 3.5" Bays, SATA, RAID 0/1, Gigabit Ethernet Port, USB Print Server, w/ Streaming Applications and Add-On Application support

Kodi (which also has a DLNA server built in):
Kodi | Open Source Home Theater Software

As stated in the article, Plex is very popular:
https://plex.tv/

The advantage of a router or NAS with DLNA built in is that you don't have to keep a server PC running. The disadvantage is that DLNA really only supplies folder/file structure and does not provide media descriptions/plots.

A:Wireless Streaming Software

Edit: I just realized you're using a USB wifi dongle with your BD player, so it might not show up as an LG device in your media streaming options, but show up with the name of the wifi adapter?
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Original post:

You might not have to use the Nero product at all.

Nero MediaHome 4 came with my LG BlueRay player too, but I didn't bother to install it. I found out that Windows 8 will natively stream videos, pics, music, etc to DLNA-compliant devices (like my new Samsung F6300 series LCD TV & and my LG BD player). It was a tiny bit harder getting it to stream to my LG BP620 BD player (the Samsung TV worked out-of-the-box, my Win 8 PC wasn't showing up in the LG menus, anywhere!) but this is what worked for me:

1. Go to "Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Network and Sharing Center\Advanced sharing settings"
2. Click on "All Networks", click on "Choose media streaming options..." under Media streaming.
3. Find your LG device and click on "Customize..."
4. Uncheck "Use default settings" and check "Make all of the media in my library available..."
5. Click OK and see if your PC shows up on your LG player.

You have to have a DLNA-compliant TV & BD player for this, but most stuff made in the last few years are. If this works for you you can uninstall the Nero app. Good luck!

Hello all,

I've looked around the forums and haven't found a decent answer to this...

Does anyone know a specific date for the release of the x64 version of the connector software for Windows Home Server?

I believe MS said in the first quarter of 2008, but I was hoping that someone had a more specific date than that... perhaps someone from MSDN or the WHS team can answer this question in greater depth???

Thanks

A:Windows Home Server connector software (x64) release date?

Hi

The x64 Connector will be bundled in with Windows Home Server Power Pack 1 which Microsoft have slated (somewhat vaguely) as shipping in the first half of 2008.

My hunch is that we won't see this in Q1. As soon as a date is released we'll announce it over at We Got Served (We Got Served - The Windows Home Server Site)

I have been given a PC with Windows Home of 2011 client software Removal Windows Server Home Premium bit This was a client PC from a small old Windows Home Server system which has now been dismantled as the server PC failed My unit works fine but I cannot remove the irritating Server client items from it - Launchpad and Alert Services etc etc Have looked everywhere on the disk but cannot find any uninstall file anywhere All the relevant files seem to be in the Program Files Windows Server Bin folder but nothing found there No separate uninstalling prog will work either Have considered starting up the PC in Safe Mode physically removing the Windows Server folder and contents then running a registry cleaner to tidy up the loose ends Am concerned that this might make the PC unstable so ask if anyone has any useful suggestions For now I have worked through the Start Up process and inhibited the ones considered relevant Also CCleaner has stopped the Launchpad This has worked but would like to permanently remove Removal of Windows Home Server 2011 client software the unwanted items Ted

A:Removal of Windows Home Server 2011 client software

No one has supplied any suggestions as to my programme removal so decided to risk it and do it myself as described.
Backed up whole HD plus registry, restarted in basic Safe Mode then physically removed all traces of WHS 2011 in file system.
Emptied Recycle Bin then restarted as normal.
No disasters occurred so used CCleaner and Advanced Uninstaller PRO. They mopped up the loose ends and everything seems to be fine now. Job done!
I suppose the same process could be used for most difficult to remove items.

I have a problem.

I run a Windows Server 2008 R2 machine that amongst other things, acts as a media store/server. I recently got a Windows Phone 7 handset that can only synchronise content via Zune (ridiculous, I know), but Zune refuses to install on Server 2008 R2, saying it can only be installed on XP and Windows 7.

I have installed most of the Win 7 components missing from Server 2008 R2 so I'm not worried about compatibility, I just want to know, how can I force install an application to an OS that it is not 'allowed' to be installed on.

If I can't get Zune onto the Server, I'm effectively barred from transfering music and video to my phone. Please help.

Hello all, I have a question. I have a website, and I want to have my saved video files (Real or Windows Media or Quicktime) play for viewers without them downloading it...streaming video I think it's called. I was hoping to put it on my Win2000 machine. I am looking for a way to do this as inexpensive as possible.

Please post any software titles or ideas.

Thanks

Hi there Was wondering if there was any software around that would stream DVD BLU RAY ISO images to remote devices Currently I have DVD BLU RAY de-crypted ISO rips stored on NAS but to play the DVD's on remote TV with things like PLEX media server for streaming software to ISO's devices. Any remote around DVD I have to rip these to MKV I use MAKEMKV - only takes seconds Any software around for streaming DVD ISO's to remote devices. for standard Any software around for streaming DVD ISO's to remote devices. DVD from HDD ISO but seems a waste to store these AND the ISO's I keep the ISO's as I can re-create the originals plus they have menus plus special features etc I don't want to Mirror screen from a Phone etc -- the SERVER should be able to dish up the ISO content which I could then play using either the TV's standard remote controller or via a controller app on a Mobile phone Once the playback starts the Phone can be switched off etc --i e the phone app would only be used as a quot Handset quot for controlling something like Google Chromecast Any ideas here Thanks jimbo

A:Any software around for streaming DVD ISO's to remote devices.

Mezzmo says they do ISO, but i dont have anything in that format to test, I rip all mine as MP4

If you have ripped Blu-rays, DVDs or ISO files, then Mezzmo is perfect for you! Streaming ripped Blu-rays, DVDs and ISO files is easy with Mezzmo. Mezzmo will automatically find all your ripped Blu-rays, DVDs and ISO files and add videos from them into your Mezzmo library. Then simply stream these videos to your devices just like you stream any other video.
Mezzmo will also get poster artwork and text metadata for your Bly-ray and DVD movies and TV shows.

Hello,

I have a problem running movies through my newly built server w/ RAID. I'll give you the specs of the server first:

Inter(R) Core(TM) 2 Quad CPU Q8400 @ 2.66Ghz,
4GB RAM
64 Bit OS Windows 7
RAID

I just built a server running RAID with 3x 2TB hard drives, and an extra 1.5 TB hard drive on the side. Video/Audio skips anytime you stream it to any other computer in the house. However, if the stream is from the extra 1.5 TB hard drive that's not on the RAID, it's perfectly fine.

Let me know what you think... hopefully this is a easy fix.

Do you use a RAID card as your controller or is the controller built onto the motherboard?

BBC R2's Listen Again facility is disabled for the best broadcasts which are in the wee small hours. Is there a way in which, other than staying up all night, I can record the programmes either on line or on FM, rather like what people do with programmable video recorders (I am not into videos)? I am experimenting with a program called Freecorder 4 but I don't think this will work other than in real time. Same applies to Audacity as far as I can tell. Would a video recorder do this? Any other ideas?

I can't help with your problem but I will tell you this. I installed that Freecorder 4 just yesterday and it caused a lot of problems. The mouse was freezing,no right click and
I was getting the "Windows has encountered an error" every few minutes. Tried every thing I could think of to find the problem and finally I said to myself--self just uninstall the program and I did- not more problems.

A:video playback and streaming. Video card problem or software?

Well, it seems u dont have a hardware problem. this problem occurs only when u r watching videos. so i guess its the media player. take my suggestion, stop using it. Download this pack: KLite Codec Pack. I think the latest version is 3.2. Its got all the codecs u need to play compressed videos, and dvds. Its also got an advanced media player which can play any video u open it with like wmv, dat, mpg, rm, mov, avi, divx..... of course, the codecs for these formats r included in the pack.

I need to install web server software on my computer so I can preview web pages before uploading them. It saves all of that unnecessary upload time. I used to run XAMPP with XP Pro SP3. But in looking to download it again, it doesn't mention 7 as being compatible. The last OS listed is Vista. I would imagine XAMPP is probably compatible with 7, but I was wondering if anyone had any info on this, or maybe another suggestion for free open source server software I could use with 7?

A:Web Server Software

It is not exactly what you are asking about, but have you considered using Opera Unite? It has a web server function to serve pages directly from your computer, so I imagine that it has some way to preview them also. I don't know if it would allow you to upload them just anywhere though, but I imagine that could be done separately, if needed.

I suspect you're going to have serious problems finding new software that is fully supported for Windows NT 4.0.

I don't know of any application that can scan any operating system to determine any type of problem and fix it regardless of corrupt files or registries. It sounds like you're looking for some type of Holy Grail software that fixes all problems. No such thing. Even harder to find utilities that work with an operating system even the maker of which doesn't support it.

A:What software is better for a web server?

You should use a hardware server; I would say, either get a router that has firewall enabled service or think about IPCOPS distro for linux; If you have an old computer around with two network cards, you can easily setup a firewall with no problem.

http://www.ipcop.org/

Hardware is always the way to go if your going to get a firewall; Cisco ASA or Pix if have alot of computer to protect;

For Anti-Virus - Use Symantec corperate editon, Nod-32, or Bitdefender total security.

I am looking for some sort of FTP Server Software that is free. Basically, I just need something that I can set up on my Win XP Pro machine where I can have people transfer files to me without having to email them. Especially since some files are too large to email and get bounced. Let me know if you guys have any suggestions. Thanks.

Another thing to note, preferably I'd like some way where people sending me files do not have to install any type of software for themselves. Where they could just go to maybe some sort of GUI and can just log in and dump files.

I don't know of any GOOD free FTP clients. When I used to do a lot of FTP transfers I found Cute FTP to be a very user friendly program.

A friend of mine tried Smart FTP and said he liked it but he wasn't a power user. It was just a one time use.

Try googling CuteFTP and/or Smart FTP and/or 'free FTP client'. Tons of crap will come up.

A:Help choose: Windows Home Server 2011 vs. Windows Server 2008 R2

Honestly, I use both in their proper settings, and unless you have a domain at home with multiple users, Windows Server 2008 R2 is overkill...and would require much more tweaking and add-in apps to do what you want. Given your write-up, WHS 2011 is the way to go. It does much of what you want out of the box, and is designed for people who don't want to become server admins (or at least not be forced to).

Hello,

I have a problem to access file server on Windows Server 2000 from a Windows 7 PC. For your information, due to some reasons, both Windows 7 and Windows Server 2000 are in different domain.

I have tried all suggested solutions which are :
i. to unchecked both attributes in 'Network Security : Minimum session security for NTLM SSP based (including secure RPC)' for both clients and server.
ii. to apply 'Send LM & NTLM - use NTLMv2 session security if negotiated' in 'Network Security : LAN Manager authentication level'
iii. to make sure the time setting for both Windows 7 and Windows Server 2000 are the same.

But still, i couldn't access the file server. In fact, each time I entered domain\username to authenticate, it will give out this message :

Since I am kinda new to this troubleshooting things, it would be great if someone can tell me why does this happening. Is it because of the different domain?

thanks in advance.

A:Windows 7 unable to Access file server on Windows Server 2000

To connect to the server you would need to enter the credentials of the domain user on the server that would have access. For example if the domain was 'home' with a user 'Josh' then I would put:

home\Josh

As the username. If you want to get advanced you could try and form a trust with the other domain in active directory so that the other domain has permission to access the server

Windows Updates have been a real thorn in my side since moving to the country where I have limited bandwidth ISP. I have 6-7 Windows PCs I (try to) keep updated, both XP and W7. I've tried downloading updates just ONCE using the Microsoft Update Catalog, but then I still have to note what pc needs what updates and install them manually.

Newegg's sale on Windows Home Server today has me wondering whether I might dedicate a PC to WSUS just to manage updates.

Can folks here with WSUS experience suggest whether this is worth doing? Or might be more trouble than it's worth vs. the manual "Update Catalog" method? Or tried w/WHS and that's a problem in itself? TIA for any feedback...

A:Windows Server Update Services and Windows Home Server -- worth doing?

I manage the WSUS implementation where I work. Overall, it's a pretty straightforward product. The only hassle will be going through the list of "all updates" for Windows 7 and for XP and declining the ones that don't pertain to your systems. The good news is that WSUS will determine for you, which are needed and which aren't and will place an icon next to the ones which you need.

I don't have experience with running WSUS on WHS myself....but I'm guessing it would be pretty much the same as doing it on a straight up Windows server.

As far as getting the clients to use your WSUS server, that's a simply registry change.

I'm looking for an SQL server solution that runs on XP for testing purposes. I know MS makes a free one but I can't get it to install and I frankly have a bias against MS when it comes to mission critical programs. I've just been let down too many times by programs with too many entanglements into the OS. MS seems to feel that because they know the OS backwards and forwards that they should then entangle any app into the OS's deep settings.

Anyway, I'm looking for pretty much anything. It can cost money as I'm happy to play with a demo for awhile.

It's like the re-install did not happen, I'm and admin on the server and I'm also running the setup.exe as admin, what could be the problem.

Thanks in advance.

I have a terabyte raid5 running on a server 2003 box. It has a separate system drive. I was wondering, if that system drives fails and I reload 2003 on another drive, will it pick up that software raid5 configuration and all the data? Thanks.

A:Software Raid5 in Server 2003

If the OS is not part of the array and you have installed applications on the array you will have to restore those applications as well. I am not even sure you can make the OS part of an RAID 5 array. Your best bet would be to restore the OS volume from a full backup...the OS won't know the difference since the array looks like one big drive to it.

Greetings,
I am waist deep in home automation...trek homes you know. So I've of course ripped all my CD's for multi-zone multi-amp multi-soundcard music.

Now the final entertainment piece would be to rip all my DVDs for two reasons: 1 to protect my original DVDs from getting scratched (kids) and 2 so with the touch of a finger on my wi-fi touchpad I can load a movie sit back and relax.

I do not want to go the mult-Dvd disc changer. As with the multi-CD changers I see this as a dinasoaur.

With that Said:

Hardware: What would be the best quality video card for movie playing, HDTV etc. Estimated minimum Drive Requirements? 250GIG?

Server Config: Dell Dual drive raid server. 1 gig of ram. AMD chip? Harddrive sizes? Will of course take server recomendations from this wealth of knowledge.

Recomendations on Projectors?

A:Hardware and Software Question - DVD Server

KD,

As far as the "server" specs go, since you are apparently going to buy a Pre-Manufactured unit, eg, Dell, and obviously you don't want to limit your pleasure by anything as trivial as MONEY....Just buy the biggest most badass unit they offer.

And if it is specified as Multi-media, it "should" lean in the direction you want. As for the HD capacity...since you are talking about ARCHIVING all of you CD's and DVD's to Hard Disk, 250GB should be sufficient...for your FIRST hard drive !!! Go on from there.

As for projectors...as a friend of mine always says, "You never have to make excuses for buying the best." Pick up a magazine and check out the reviews.

Hi all

i currently use 'iDrive' which does a daily backup of my computer. This is all good but i have got my own web server which has a 1 TB hard disk inside and is always connected to my home network and the internet.

I am looking for a piece of software (preferably free) that family and friends can use on their computers and connect to my server and backup their important documents automatically.

Without sounding horrid, a lot of my friends and family are not very experienced with computers and so i am needing a piece of software that once setup it will backup their documents and pictures etc with out them having to do anything or only having to press a few buttons.

Not sure if this type of software exists but if anybody knows of software that does this i would be very grateful.

Thank you

Hi everyone, I was wondering the best approach on a situation where my company is paying monthly service for a specific software which we implement into our clients and monitor their internal systems. As we have username and pass and a dedicated portal page where we login and there we can manage all the settings and configurations. And here is the part - how can I use this software but instead of going to the remote server to login into our dedicated page, I want to swap my portal platform and use it as it is on my local server. How can get to there?

Here is one I use. It allows you to set it to update the clock at specified intervals.

You can also change the source that you get the time from, so if you notice that it is not pulling the time from one place, you can use a different server.
