Media player has to search for music library on every boot up

Q: Media player has to search for music library on every boot up

I am new to the forum. I have been searching for a solution to this problem for a while now and came upon this site by accident. I searched the forums already posted to see if the subject has already been adressed, but could not find any posts concerning my specific problem.

It is not a major problem, just an annoying one. My music library is on my D drive. Media player searches, finds and loads all of my music without any problem. Every time i boot my laptop and open media player, the music is gone and media player has to search the whole computer for all my music files again. It finds them without any problem, but i do not have access to my whole library for an hour on every boot up. Is this normal for windows 7. Did i do something wrong setting up my library and is their a fix for this?

thanks

Preferred Solution: Media player has to search for music library on every boot up

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/directdownload.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Every time I turn off windows media player and open it back up the music disappeared. It doesn't auto scan the folder. I have to take out a file and put it back in to get it to re-add it, then it adds everything else again. This is really
annoying.

Hello,
This is my first post. I just installed Windows 7 and one thing is really annoying me. How do I shut off the feature that asks me to take ownership of every individual folder in my music files from my external drive before I can open them and add them to my media player library? I just want to add them the way I used to in XP or better yet just drag and drop the main folder into media player.

A:How do I add music files from external drive to media player library using windows 7?

This information should do the trick. You will basically take possession of the entire drive all at once instead of files\folders on at a time.I realize it says XP in the title but it should work for Win7 too.

Every time I try to import music to my library, I get a loading pop-up that says "working" as if the music is importing, then the box disappears and nothing happens (Drag and drop music to library). If I try to use the add to library feature within wmp, I add the folder I want and no files are imported, nothing happens, not even a "working" pop-up as compared to the other method I tried. No music is currently in my library at all. I can still listen to music if I open the files but obviously this is much less convenient than using the library.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance.

A:Windows Media Player (version 11.2.6001.7000) won't import music to library.

Are all your files from iTunes? If so they may all be in the .m4a format which is incompatible with media player.

I have loaded over 1,000 songs from CD's into the Media Library and it worked great. Now, the Library comes up completely blank without even listing Arist, Genre, Playlists, etc. The files are still on the computer and will play one by one. However, the media player will not search for files or read the CD player. Any thoughts out there? This is version 9 running on XP Pro.

Hi Bantha
Here is and article you might be interested in. http://www.zdnet.com.au/newstech/ebusiness/story/0,2000048590,20268189,00.htm From what I understand version 9 is very hard to uninstall. If you absolutely have to have a Microsoft product and you do find a way to uninstall version 9 then go back to 8.0.

Not being that experienced, I'm a little confused w/ the way the Library sorts CDs into genres vs the way I could sort the Music Folders. They don't seem to relate. For example, the Library lists an album under "Rock" that I would like to move to another genre but I cannot figure a way to do this. On the other hand, I know I could play around w/ the folders so that this particular CD is in the right place. However, I'm not sure that if I take the time to organize my Music folders whether this will have any impact on how the Library sorts them.
If you can shed some light on this I'd sure appreciate it.
Thanks, Nick.

A:Solved: Windows media music library vs music folders

Mp3 music files have tags that are kept inside the files themselves. The most common ones are Artist, Album, Track Title, Track Number, Release Year and Genre. When you put a file into the WMP library, the tags are read and stored, along with the file location.

So the tag data is what shows up in the WMP library and you can sort on various fields depending on which version you have. But the files can be put anywhere and named anyway you like. Most people use a certain naming convention like Artist-TrackNumber-Title.

If you want to sort the folders by genre you could do that, but you'll have to do it manually. You can do some manipulating of folders and filenames with tag editors. If you want to give that a try get Mp3Tag.

Music library and mp player Hi I know that If you rip an original CD track to MP kbps and then for whatever reason decide to compress that MP even further - say to that would result in some loss of quality But Building a music library I am ripping everything on and downloading on too But then with my future mp player having music on format that doesn t allow to store a lot in the player So thought I could compress a bit more and the quality yes the quality will be lower but then you want good quality you don t use a mp player but a normal stereo Am I right or wrong But then the And Music Player Library Mp3 days of cd are counted so we still need to put music on digital format for the future so what quality audio to use Stay with mp Or go with some other format Music Library And Mp3 Player like apple or wma from window media player Or some new recent one but may be not compatible with my new mp player and meaning I have to re-rip all my audio again Then technology will be there and there will be no need of compression And then the web will be access from everywhere and we wont Music Library And Mp3 Player have our own computer but subscribing monthly to some web site to use and listen the music and for every thing else So I am getting so confused and lost my question is what you do today and what do you recommend And about the future how are you going to keep up thanks

A:Music Library And Mp3 Player

Here are my thoughts about this:No#1. Let today be today. If your music is .mp3, then keep it that way. Don't get tricked into the hype of what tomorrow may be like. You may not see tomorrow. Just keep doing as you're doing, and forget about the Jones'No#2. No one knows what tomorrow may bring, and since music isn't important as to being prepared for tomorrow, I wouldn't even think about it. If you need more room to store your files, then invest into another hard drive, and dedicate it to just your music.Your bitrate quality will really get disturbed if you went to a very low bitate, compared to it's original format/bitrate. And again, if your music sounds good to you, and you like it, leave it be. Don't go making projects out of things you really don't want to be wasting your time on. And yes, I know, the higher the bitrate, the larger the file size. It's your move now... so what are you going to do? I say just get more hard drive/storage space, and you'll nip it in the bud..wma formats, I always convert them to .mp3.Windows Media Player? If you're gonna use it (I see no reason why you would), just be aware that by default it is set to protect your music you rip using it. What that means is that your music is protected and it's virtually held hostage on your computer. Burning it from there won't work either. So, if you're going to use WMP, make sure you uncheck the Protect My Files checkbox. Even still, I'll never trust WMP with my music. Also, there is no reason to try to keep up with the ever growing of music softwares, just to listen to your music. If you use a program that plays your music, and it plays very well, then leave well enough alone. Alot of programs are designed to trick you, (like Windows Media Player), and they will DRM protect your music, and block you from transferring your music from your computer to disc, or where ever else you may want to put your music. Soon, you'll be posting here stating, your music all of a sudden doesn't play, you can't burn anything, your burner doesn't work, the programs you've used before all of a sudden don't work, you can play one file type, and not the other..... and the list goes on and on.Take this advice from someone that knows these computers and will inform you of what you should know about them. Trying to keep up with the Jones' and using the wrong softwares at the same time will get your computer slammed with problems.

One feature I like with WMP (Windows Media Player) and Windows Media Center is that they have the options to automatically search online and replace incorrect information with your songs, artists, etc. at the same time finding missing information (ie: album cover) however this feature has to be turned on. Go through your preferences and see if you would like this and then turn it on.

Hello Guys I'm having various problems with my Playlists on my computer with a recent fresh install of Windows pro I put all my albums into playlists and I use the playlists to select which music to play this is because I have lots of individual tracks etc everything works as it should do in desktop Windows Media Player When I open the Metro music app in Windows my playlist are all over the place App 8 Media Music Library frustrations! A:Windows 8 Music App Media Library frustrations!

This is not an audio problem (this forum section) but more a customization issue.

I'm using my Win 7 system right now and I see C:\Users\myname\Music as one location. Also C:\Users\Public\Music as another. Look in those locations.

Hi
I had a few problems with the album info in Media Player (some tracks werent assigned to the correct album - some albums appeared twice with some tracks in one instance and the rest in another). I have resolved this but I now get different album info in Media Center (some are still split, some album art isnt showing even though it appears correctly in Media Player). Does anyone have any ideas how the info is different (I thought Media Centre read the Media Player Library) and how to fix it?
Thanks

General technique:
1) Edit the tags in Windows
2) Drag the album to WMP11 to check
3) Fix the tag info in Windows where needed
4) Redrag to WMP11 and check again
5) Repeat 3 and 4 as necessary
6) Open VMC and pray!

Problem 1: Inconsistent/duplicate albums
You didn't mention the file types, but I'll assume they're MP3s. In this case the problems is likely in the tags. Try this procedure:

1) Select all of the tracks of the album inside of Windows
2) Right click and select "Properties", then "Details" to bring up the Tag editor
3) Rename the Album Artist to something different like "a" and hit OK
4) Do this again but this time rename the Album Artist back to the correct name and hit OK

This will clear any inconsistencies in the Album Artist which seem to happen when tags are downloaded from the internet. Remember that tag info is a community thing, their is no quality control.

If the problem remains, try the same process for the Album name.

Problem 2: Album artwork in VMC
This can be really tricky, I have one album that I cannot fix this problem! But try this:

1) Inside of WMP11, right click the first track and select Advanced Tag Editor, then Pictures. Make sure that the picture is correct.
2) If it is not, delete it and Add the correct picture (Amazon.com/music has great album art).
3) If the art is missing on on the tracks, then you should be able to drag the JPG art over the album icon in WMP and it will add it to every track.
4) Try deleting all of the non-music files in the album's folder in Windows. These are hidden so you will need to go into "Folder and Search Options", then "View" and select "Show hidden files and folders" and deselect "Hide protected operating system files".
5) Also, try deleting the Windows Media Center Art Cache while you have hiddne files and folders viewable. They are in one or both of these locations:
C:\Users\UserName\AppData\Local\Microsoft\ehome\Art Cache
C:\Users\UserName\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Media Player\Art Cache\LocalMLS

Overall, getting your Music library to catalog and display properly is really hard work, but eventually it will work.

I am a music downloader.
It used to be that WMP12 would update the mp3 music folders to where the folder contents would read as follows:

01 'Track Name'
02 'Track Name'
03 'Track Name'

and so on...

This is no longer the case. WMP will not update my media library files, although it says it does. I have cleared the cache, cleared all .wmdb files, and have completely removed all 9000 plus songs and have them reloaded. I've also uninstalled and reinstalled WMP12 to no avail.

I can manually correct the files myself, but I shouldn't have to.
What setting am I missing that needs to be set so my media library will automatically update?

Thanks

Hi guys, wondered if anyone has seen this problem...

Media player has stopped displaying the all the files I have/had in the media library, the page is completely blank when you click on the library tab on the left of the app.
I have a fair amount of files (4-5Gb), that were on a separate physical disk which I temporarily removed to use somewhere else, but having replaced it, none of them are displayed. Attempting to re-search that drive (or any other) for media files just leaves it hanging on 0% completed.
I can play files via file | open, and select files that way, but it's not much of a workaround.
I've uninstalled all the media player updates and reinstalled without effect.

I'm Running XP Pro with all the latest media player & OS patches, has anyone else seen this problem?

Many thanks

While not having the answer to your problem, if you wanted to try the uninstall re-install option, you could back up the media library database file first, then re-install it to get your ratings back if you wished. I don't know if this would be the way forward if there's something wrong with the library though as you'd be re-installing the one that is broke at the moment, just something to think about. The library information is held in this file

"C:\WINDOWS\Application Data\Microsoft\Media Player\CurrentDatabase_59R.wmdb"

before uninstalling/reinstalling windows media player though, have a look at what THIS guy has to say on the matter. There's not much he doesn't know about WMP.

i like using windows media player library but i also like to organize my mp3s manually (move them to different folders, delet them, etc...) the problem i'm having is the library now has bunches of duplicats out of witch only one works and the rest give errors etc... it would take me too long to sort through all of the duplicats and songs that i have deleted manually

how can i either reset the library and have it redetect all the mp3s or have it check every mp3 in the library and remove the dead entries

A:Media player library

Ok do this VERY carefully.

1. Start from the top of the library and click the first song

2. Go to the bottom of the library, hold shift, and click that last song.

3. Righ click on ANY song thats highlighted, (all of them), and click delete

4. When it asks you to delete them from JUST your library or your HARD DRIVE, select Just library and all of your songs will be out of your library. When your done with that:
5. Add your music files back into your library, and viola! your dead links are gone!!!

Hey Guys,

For some reason, I cannot add .AVI or .MP4 files to my Windows Media Player 11 library. I know that WMP doesn't natively support .MP4 files, but I am at a loss as to why it won't take .AVI files. I have tried multiple codecs to encode the video (.MP4, DivX, etc.).

Any ideas?

So, finally, I buy my teenage son a laptop. He is ceremoniously booted from my PC - God the problems he caused. Now, I'm trying to strip the PC of all his junk. In particluar, he filled, consumed, OVERWHELEMED, my media player library with billions of screaming 70s rock artists. (Dad rock is big apparantly.) I can 'update' the library in Real Player, but not in Windows Media Player. I want it to work out what links don't work and remove them from the library. I've already deleted the files from my hard drive. All I can think of is to unistall Media Player and then reinstall it and have it find all the files again. This seems a long drawn out thing for something that Real Player (Which I hate as a Media Player) does with one-click.
Go on, helped a stressed out father-of-a-teenager...
Cheers Guys...

A:Media Player 9 Library Need 2 UPDATE

Don't know what windows you have but in windows me (should be similar in xp) if you find and delete this file
"C:\WINDOWS\Application Data\Microsoft\Media Player\CurrentDatabase_59R.wmdb"
(the 59r may not be relevent to you but it will be a .wmdb file)
then reboot, media player will make a nice sparkling, brand new, empty one. Check your media player, it will be empty.

If you didn't want to get rid of them all you could also :-

Open media player, with your tracks listed on the right, select the top one, hold down the shift button, select another further down the list, all in between are selected, you can delete the selected group.

Or

Select any track on the right, hold down the control key (keep holding it down) and go and select any of the others in whatever order you like, and the tracks remain selected. Can delete randomly placed tracks as a group then.

You can also do a mix of the above, select a group with the first option holding down the shift key, once selected, hold down the control key and add further randomly placed tracks to the group for deletion.

As you can see though, deleting that file is easier.

Hi Folks,
I have a small annoyance that I hope someone can sort out for me....
I am using MP11 to organise my music library.
When it stars up, it only displays the first 5000 entries. I need to scroll down to the bottom of the vertical slider, which then springs back to the middle, and allows me to scroll further.
If I don't do this process of dicovery myself, MP only accesses the top 5000.

Frustrating, although I am sure there is a setting I can tweak.

HELP!!!!

Hello All-

I have hundreds of christmas mp3's, children's audio mp3's and audio/non music mp3s on my computer. Is there any way I can exclude them from automatically appearing in Windows Vista Media Player 11 library. When I play random music the non wanted mp3s play. I have tried everything and the library always finds it.

Thanks for the help.

Bill

A:exclude mp3's from media player library

You probably have monitor folders turned on which will automatically put any music files into the WMP library that are in the monitored folders (usually My Music).

Turn monitor folders off, empty out the WMP library and then put only the files that you want back into the library. To make things easier I would keep the two groups of music files in separate folders. The quickest way to put tracks in the WMP library is to drag-and-drop the whole folder into the WMP library window.

A:Windows media player 11 library gone... again?

The problem I am having is on my notebook computer. I have a desktop computer on the same network which has a copy of the library on its D: drive. That WMP11 library works just fine.

On the notebook computer, I attempted to run Tools >> Apply Media Information Changes. No response. The status window which pops up tells me that there is no response from the server, and that it is retrying.

On my desktop, again, on the same network, the same series of commands results in progress in this "Apply Changes" status window, and after a few minutes it says it's complete. I don't see that any changes were made, but I didn't look extensively.

What server is "Apply Media Information Changes" looking for, and why can't my notebook computer find it?

(BTW: Wrote this post on said Notebook, so yes, its internet connection seems to be working...)

I have just bought on-line, will only transfer music files with Windows Media Player 10.   The instructions for the music player, Samsung YP-Z5, says that you can only transfer files to the player when Windows Media Player 10 is installed on the pc, which you have to instal with the installation CD.  I have Windows Media Player 11 and Media Monkey on my pc, that I use for my other music player and Windows Media Player 12 and Media Monkey on my laptop.  Does that mean that the version 11, I have on my pc will be rolled back to 10 then? isn't that going to mess up my music.  I don't understand why it is an older version of Windows Media Player as I can't use it on my laptop. I wanna start from scratch with Media Player 10 concerning the library, wanna clear it, so i have only 6300 objects i have to delete!! (one by one if there isnt any mass-delete solution) have googled on this, and Microsoft some forums help seem to agree thath i should delete this entry
"C:\Documents and Settings\username\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Media Player" and then it shall be gone after it..but it doesnt help for me atelast, the playlist file in this map (and the map) keeps reincarnate every time i start the player again, and the music files are still there..hm why is it so hard for microsoft to add a simple delete button inside?

any ideas how i can solve this, i doubt it will help to just upgrade to wmp 11, ore "reinstall" current version etc

A:Clear Entire Library In Media Player 10

The way I've done it is to go to the folder you mentioned and delete the file CurrentDatabase_219.wmdb (the number might be different).

Before you do it go to Task Manager and kill wmplayer.exe if it's there.

If that doesn't work you might have to reinstall 10, stay away from 11, it sucks.

I recently purchased a used computer with Vista x64 that seemed to be working fine until recently. However for some reason, whenever I try to play any files from the library or from a CD in WMP11 it automatically skips the track after 1-5 seconds. In addition to that, instead of going to the next track, it starts moving backwards up through my library. If I go to the Now Playing tab, I can see that for some reason it has added every single song in my library to the list. Has anyone ever seen a problem like this before?

A:Windows Media Player 11 can't play from library or CDs

I've never seen a problem like this before personally. If i were you i'd make sure my audio files weren't somehow corrupt and if they weren't then from there i'd reinstall windows media player.(don't forget to uninstall it first).

If that doesn't work i'd wait for someone with more experience with these kind of issues. If all else fails you could always resourt to using a different program to view your media. If your doing this just for audio that I highly recommend Media Monkey. There's a free and paid version but the free version is great so don't bother with the paid version unless you'd like the help the company for such great software =D
If your looking for audio and video media player I recommend VLC media players.I has a simple interface that should be easy to figure out and it can play many video formats which is very helpful

I have noticed that there are certain albums (always the same ones) that list the songs 2 or 3 times in the media player library. They are NOT duplicated in the music folder. I have deleted them several times but they keep coming back. I am monitoring the rip folder only on these computers. Any Idea why these certain ones are duplicated?

Well about a week ago my WMP11 Library started acting funny. My entire library was deleted. When I went to add my songs back into the library it wouldn't let me. It won't save my "Monitored Folders" settings or let me create new playlists.

The only I can think of is that it's a virus. Or one of the anti-virus software programs is locking it down. I recently added AVG, Ad-Aware, and A-Squared at about the time it started acting up, but I'm not sure whether they caused the problems or if it was the spyware/viruses that were on my computer.

I've tried re-installing WMP. When I did a rollback to WMP9 the library seemed to work fine. After I re-updated it to WMP11 again it still wasn't working.

Any help guys?

Is there a file that holds the library information that I could just delete forcing WMP to rescan the My Music folder, (or where ever my music files are kept)? I also have Fedora Core 6 (Linux). Its media player is called Rhythymbox. With it I can delete a file that forces Rhythymbox to scan the folder where my Linux music is kept. Can I do anything like that with WMP?

pretty sure the library thing is just a catalog of the media you have on your computer. If you're talking about playlists I'm not positive how to delete them, I don't mess with them.

running windows Vista SP version WMP version I'm trying to set up Media Center on my PC so that I can use my as an extender and have access to music from both my local PC and my roomate's library from the network When I originally added my music folder to the library I forgot that there was on Player network issues library Media a link to my roomate's network folder in there and he had a Media Player on network library issues link to mine so I think it quot looped quot and added two of every file I've tried to clear the library in Media Player to start from scratch but it keeps adding copies of most of the files one with the local path E Muszak music and one with the network path COMPUTER NAME music I've turned of all Media Player on network library issues folder monitoring and deleted the entire library and still it adds two paths for every file whenever it re-starts I tried unchecking quot add files previously deleted from the library quot and quot search for media that others are sharing quot in the options and it only adds about of my library Is there a way to completely revert WMP library to scratch and start over My roomate was able to set up his upstairs pointing to the same folders and his library is fine So if I can just get WMP back to square one I think it will work but I can't figure out why it's still adding the two file paths despite having all the folder monitoring off

I have a lot of music on my computer, and I share it to a SoundBridge device. This works well WHEN it works. I have two problems.
1 The Media player loses the library and has to rebuild it frequently.
2 After a few days or so, it prohibits me from sharing media. When I click on Media Sharing, it displays an error message about sharing being turned off. When I go to web help, it tells me to start the Media Sharing Service, but when I look, it has been started. It also tells me to check ownership of the media database, but that is OK as well. I can get it to start over by uninstalling the media player and then re-installing it, but this gets to be a drag very quickly.
Can anyone help? Thanks very much.

I am migrating my music files to an NAS / Network drive. Explorer does an OK job transfering files off the PC and on to the network drive.

I set MP11 to look to "L:\Shared\Music" to add to library. It takes about 20 seconds per file to add to the library. Since it is not actually moving the file just finding the address I don't know why it is taking so long.

For the files it has added, MP does an OK loading and playing.

Any ideas.

Thanks in advance.

PS XP and WMP11 on another PC on same NAS work fine

A:Slow Library Update with Media Player+ Vista + NAS

Try checking to see if the option to add volume information is checked before you add the file - if it's checked, WMP will analyse the track when it's added and record the average volume and other bits and pieces of info like that.

When I rip a CD, it does show up in Start / Music / My Music folder. And will play in WMP when I double click it there, but does not show up in the library when I open WMP. Ripped 5 CD's today, the first 3 did just fine / info & in library-- last 2 are not. And when you load a CD to play or rip, it does not load up Album info. Just "unknown album" . Ran a troubleshoot and shooter said Library was corrupt. How do I fix this issue. Win 7 Home Premium on a new Dell -- no changes to default settings. Thanks, tom

Also, "find album info" does nothing on most songs and cannot delete songs from library--- nothing happens with either of this commands

Howdy all!
Lately, Windows Media player is listing multiple copies of songs in the library for the different artists/albums. And one instance it has mixed up the listing of 2 albums under the one artist.
I have been looking for ways to delete these duplicates, nothing I have tried has worked.
I don't even mind completely deleting the list of all of the albums (as long as I can keep them in the My Music Folder)
Guess I could copy everything to a thumb drive to re load....
Any suggestions how to handle this situation?
Thanks.

The easiest way is to delete the WMP database, it won't affect your actual music files. Then reload the library.

Hi all,

I have about 1250 wav files on my computer, ripped from CDs using WM Player 11.

After ripping each CD, I went through and added composer metadata for every single track (for my job in music publishing). It took me aaaagggeeess.

Then today in a moment of idiocy I accidentally cleared the WM Player library. When I added all the ripped CDs back to the library from my hard drive, they didn't have any of the composer metadata anymore!

Is there any way I can get this data back without having to manually enter it all over again? PLEASE SOMEONE TELL ME YES!

Many thanks!

Louis

After some advice on using an external hard drive (EHD) to listen to music at work, rather than having to copy files manually from my master copy on the home PC, to HDD and then to the work laptop every time I add new music.

Work system is pretty much locked down, we have XP SP3 (yes, I know!), and has WMP11 installed. This works well enough telling WMP to monitor the EHD's folder for the music, but occasionally, the drive assignment changes and you have to re-build the library which is a bit of a PITA when you're busy!

I use PortableApps suite so I can run handy programs like Firefox, GIMP and Infrarecorder. I tried Songbird Portable but it seemed to really be a resource hog.

Are there any applications that work well with a portable file source as the main file location for the music files?

I have like thousands of little vocal clips that are from tutorials or something that got added to the Media Player Library. Now, is it possible to just empty the library and start over?

A:how does one delete files from the Windows Media Player library?

Do you want the library to contain clips that you play from now on or are they in a different location that you play from anyway?

*If you have Windows Media Player started, close it so the library file won't be in use.
*Navigate to C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Microsoft\Media Index with Windows Explorer or using My Computer.
*Locate the wmlibrary...db file.

If you erase that your library will be deleted. If you want to create a new one, pointed to a location where your playble files are (elsewhere)

*Start Windows Media Player and hit F3 once it has started up.
*Enter the location that you music is and Windows Media Player will create a new library.

The song is in my docs/my music. Media Player plays it if I go to the folder and right click "play" but I can't get to the song thru media player itself. Media player does see another song by the same artist in the same folder right next to the song in question. Both songs are .wma. Thanks for your help.

A:[SOLVED] Media Player plays song but doesn't add it to the library.

If you go into the options on media player and click the LIBRARY tab, then the MONITOR FOLDERS button there is a check box in the advanced options bit for adding files to the library that have been previously deleted. Make sure it is checked.

By default media player adds files to the library by monitoring folders it thinks you are likely to keep you music in. However, if a file has been deleted from the library at some stage, it assumes you no longer want it in your collection and skips the file during future instaqnces of the monitoring process if the above check box is not ticked.

What are they for? - I would think translations is for non - English language ?

A:Solved: Icon Library Media Player Classic HomeCinema

I'm not sure about them, but I downloaded the zip file and unzipped to a folder. After running mpc-hc.exe, in the options I checked, use ini file. That way no installation is necessary, and minimal changes, if any, are made to your computer.

The icon library is probably a way to index all your video file, an organizer.

Hey Guys,

We have two MP3 players in our family that use Windows Media Player to sync music with. These are the Sansa e250 and the Sansa Clip.

What is the simplest way (in windows media player) to designate which songs go to which devices? Obviously each person has different tastes in music, and do not want the exact same songs as the other. This is what I am trying to figure out.

How can I tell certain songs to only go to certain devices? Thanks!

A:What is the easiest way to separate Windows Media Player library for two MP3 Players?

I also have the e250 and I've been using Musicmatch to load it up, so I'm not exactly sure how it works with WMP, but what I do is edit a playlist to get the songs I want and determine the size in MB then drag-and-drop it in. Use different playlist for each player.

Hi Peter !

I dont have any answer for your first question . Actually I am also searching for it

But there may be a way to remove all the pictures from WMP library. Right click on the picture tab in the left navigation pane, select customize navigation pane, and uncheck picture there . Now click ok .

No more pictures are there

You may see the snips . Snip 1 : Right click and Customize navigation pane
Snip 2 : Uncheck pictures . Be careful ... at first click, it will remove the square, but check all boxes under pictures. you need to have a second click
Snip 3: Nevigate to some other library, and there is no pictures at all

hello.
I've downloaded 5 audio tracks (MP3). I can turn on the loop for each track but how do I get it to play each track one after the other and then loop back to track one?

Use Windows Media Player. It's under the Windows Accessories folder on the Start All Apps menu.

A:Need Help with Music Files (Media Player

Are the songs listed in your playlist the ones that you tried to delete? Is the playlist an older one, created before you deleted the music?

You said you tried to delete a bunch of music. Did it actually delete?

If the songs were deleted WMP cannot find it in the location it was in when you created the playlist.

Example: If the music was originally in Folder A and you created a playlist/imported music to WMP from Folder A, they would play.

If you delete the music from Folder A (or move it to another folder) WMP is still pointing to Folder A but cannot play what is not there.

If your music is still in the folder I don't know what to tell you.

I can't sample music clips OR purchase any songs from MSN Music. When I click on the sample or purchase links, the page just sits there. Nothing. I've tried accessing music.msn.com via WMP10, IE, and MSN Premium. None of them work. Running Windows XP Home Edition, latest version of Media Player. I've tried turning off ALL security: Windows Firewall, Norton Internet Security, Spywareblaster. Still nothing. I can play music clips from other multimedia sites: CDNOW, iTunes, Songtouch, even Wal-Mart Music Downloads! I can also play streaming video clips from anywhere, including MSN Video. Sound and all. Go figure.

I've tried getting help from MSN Tech Support, but they can't determine what's wrong. So, thought I'd go to the experts!

Any suggestions you might have would be appreciated.

A:Window Media Player 10 and MSN Music

Hello, anyone can help?

I further discovered that the reason WMP10 doesn't play clips is because the install never downloaded and installed the Microsoft Music Assistant "helper" program!!! I tried going directly to the support site where I could d/l this file but when I click to install from the web page, nothing happens.

Does anyone know of an alternate place I can find this little program to d/l and install???

When I click on the Media Guide (upper right menu-bar button) it works perfectly and connects to the online radio pages but if I click on the Music.msn.com service it says can't connect to the server...
From IE8 I can obviously access MSN Music: Home
Why I just can't connect to the Music Store ?

I don't have 3rd party firewalls and tried also to uninstall Avast 5... Every other program I have can access the Net without problems so it's not a firewall config problem (I use std Vista firewall) or something like that. As I said WMP11 itself can connect to the Media Guide service but not to the Music Store...

A:Win Media Player 11 can't connect to music.msn.com

Nobody else noticed this?
It seems WMP11/Vista SP2 can't connect to MSN Music...
