Picture It! Library/Digital Image Library: View Temporary Files Patch: Aug 26

Q: Picture It! Library/Digital Image Library: View Temporary Files Patch: Aug 26

The Picture It! Library and Digital Image Library do not display temporary files. By ignoring temporary files, the Library can remain clean and uncluttered. An issue has been identified where some software marks photos as temporary files when they are acquired from the camera. This patch enables the Library to view these temporary files.

The software currently known to mark new files as temporary is Canon Utilities ZoomBrowser version

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I created a slide show In Windows Media Center based on pictures that were stored on an external hard drive connected to a wireless router. I incorrectly thought that the files had been copied to the Picture Library on my main hard drive. I didn't want them there and so I stupidly deleted the files from the Picture Library. The result was that the pictures were deleted from the external drive. Is there any way to recover these files?

A:Deleted files from Picture Library. Can they be recovered?

You might see if you may be able to use Previous Versions in the include folder of that library that you had the pictures in to see if there may be a older copy of them available to restore from.

If not, then you might see if using the free program Recuva on the external HDD may be able to recover any of them.

Hope this helps,

I'm having difficulty adding MP3 files from other folders to the Media Player library. When I choose "add to Library..." in Media Player, it scans for digital files and finds lots of them, but nothing gets added to the library. If I click on one of the digital files in another folder, Media Player will play the file, but I can't add it to the library. What's up?

As a DJ I have all my CD's in MP3 format and I can play what I want over my stereo With my laptop hooked up to it.

A:Picture library setup

Hello Henry,

If you like, you could create a new folder on the external hard drive, include that folder in your Pictures library, and set that folder as the default save location for the Pictures library.

This way, anything you save or drag/drop into the Pictures library will actually be saved to the folder on the external drive.

Currently in the process of locating my "library folders" to my storage drive rather than keeping them on my boot drive. In the process, I made a mistake of somehow syncing my music folder with my pictures folder. Now they open up to the same directory on my storage drive. At the same time, my pictures folder was renamed to Music.

Okay, I have no idea how this happened. But, I'd like to get rid of the drop down menu to show the my pictures library (It's empty right now because I was purging unwanted files). It's been like this for months, and I have no idea how it got there nor how to fix it. I've looked everywhere, but couldn't find any answer. This doesn't happen on ANY of my other libraries, even if I click on the actual library (whereas the drop down option vanishes if I click the actual folder myself).
I understand it's not necessarily a big deal, but the fact that it's so obnoxiously there and unable to be change is beyond infuriating. If anyone can help, I would very much appreciate it.

I've always disliked the Libraries feature as I much prefer to work with absolute paths rather than this "it's over there, somewhere" approach to finding files (one reason I can't stand the whole cloud thing..) anyway...

When I click on Libraries -> Documents, it shows me in one giant long list all the files in my documents folder, without the folder structure. All 39,950 files in one great big long list.

If I right-click the Documents library, it's showing the contents of "D:\Users\Myusername" If I change the monitored folder to the "D:\Users\Myusername\My Documents" folder, it refuses to show the My Documents folder and instead simply shows the D:\Users\Myusername folder with a flat file structure.

Any thoughts? Thanks!

I notice Microsoft have given us 6 WMP12 library background images to choose from but only by using the registry hack ...

Right hand pane ... 'LibraryBackgroundImage'

6 being default and 0 being no background.

Sadly all six images look very similar to one another and so, are in need of a change!
I've hacked my way though the wmploc.dll and I can't find them.

Am I looking in the wrong place?

Does anyone else know a way to replace the library view?

Thanks in advance.

A:WMP12 Library view.

I was checking this out today, before i saw your post and opened the wmploc.dll with resource hacker and found the png files at the bottom somewhere around there. The problem however is that they are in binary so unless you have the patience to convert them to visible files so you can see the size of the new png to replace them with, and then convert your new png to binary, it is a pain in the .....
There was no need to do this, it is a way to slow down the hackers
"i could not find any programs that will do this fast"

Yes you were in the right place the files are in the wmploc.dll close to bottom and labeled clearly as to what they are - just use resource hacker and expand them all.

good luck

First turn off Monitor Folders and leave WMP open in the library view. To add songs to the library, select the music file folder(s) in Windows Explorer then drag-and-drop them into the WMP window.

If that doesn't work, delete the WMP database and try again.

It might be that the file is hidden and windows cannot see it. Go to My Computer, then Tools > Folder Options > View > select shown hidden files and folders.

Hello and thank you for reading,

I have a large digital music collection of about 5,000 songs. I just recently switched from a Windows Computer to a Mac. I transfered the files to the Mac and converted them to AAC - which promptly lost approximately 1,500 songs (I still have the Windows backups).

The library has become quite cumbersome to keep organized. iTunes does not provide an adequately easy interface to manage large amounts of somewhat unorganized files and I am looking for something more powerful.

A quick search online showed me several programs for Windows, but I wasn't able to find anything for Mac OS X. Does anybody have any suggestions for how I might organize this library?

Are you syncing a smartphone with your computer via a USB cable? Depending on the device/OS, the device picture library overrides the computer directory. So, if your phone doesn't have any pictures on it at the time it is synced, it will merge the two libraries by deleting the photos on your computer.

Unlikely, but you'd be surprised how often this happens in both directions. Saw it at least 5 times a day at the apple store while I worked there.

Does anyone know of any good ones? I've searched the web and can only find one, photolibrary, which costs $70...can't afford to spend that much!

A:Image Library Software

Most organization software lets you bulk add keywords and comments. This is a nice little free program:

If you consider the easily bulk renamed file name a third catagory it is pretty easy to sort with filename, keyword and comment.

I have a folder in my "Documents Library" that is nested as a subfolder in "My Documents"

The reason I want to be able open in library view is because then I have the option in the upper right to "Arrange By" tag's.

If I right click in the left pane and under the documents view and select the folder and use Send to: Desktop (Shortcut) it works just as I need. HOWEVER, I need to create this shortcut for multiple users.

I would like to create a shortcut that uses environmental variables.
When going to the properties of the standard shortcut and the library shortcut to that same folder, everything looks identical (Except file size).

Thanks for the help on this!

A:How do I manually create shortcut to open folder in Library view?

Hello ImpetuousRacer,

You could use the paths below to create a shortcut for each library that can be used in any user account.

When you are finished creating the shortcuts, make sure that the Start in field is empty in the Shortcut tab in the properties page so that the shortcut will not be user specific.
I'll create tutorials on these shortly tonight, and post back with links to them when finished to make it easier for you to just download them if you like.

Hope this helps,

Hi Peter !

I dont have any answer for your first question . Actually I am also searching for it

But there may be a way to remove all the pictures from WMP library. Right click on the picture tab in the left navigation pane, select customize navigation pane, and uncheck picture there . Now click ok .

No more pictures are there

You may see the snips . Snip 1 : Right click and Customize navigation pane
Snip 2 : Uncheck pictures . Be careful ... at first click, it will remove the square, but check all boxes under pictures. you need to have a second click
Snip 3: Nevigate to some other library, and there is no pictures at all

Hi guys,

We currently have a large amount of digital images stored on our shared server which we would like to be able to tag with multiple labels and organise into categories. Basically something like Google Picasa, that can be used on a corporate level.

I am looking for some kind of software which can be used by everyone in the company, so everyone can add photos, view, tag and organise them.

We are a fairly small company of 45 people with 1 office location and we all use PCs.

I've done some Google searches but have not been able to find anything I like the look of.

Ideally want a reputable company to buy software from, with a one off payment to purchase rather than software we need to pay to use each and every year.

Any tips and pointers would be great...!

Thank you!

Hi guys,

Can anyone recommend a util that will audit data/folder content?

Specifically I want to find out the percentage or gigs taken up by .jpg, .gif & .tif within a shared folder that contains every data file on our server.

Further to this (I may post this bit seperately) does anyone know of good software/hardware on the market for image management? We're an art gallery org - about 25-30 users- with over 30,000 digital images. I'm looking for something that can act as a repository/library for all image types and better, have client features such as scaling/conversion for various purposes - e.g. hi-res originals to 'email' or for 'print', searchable tags/meta data etc. Kinda thinking Google's Picassa but more server & client based. We use Win2003 with XP pro clients.

Many thanks in advance,

A:Data-audit freeware & image library recommendation?

WinDirStat (freeware) will give you both percentage and number of bytes for each file type. It can do it for a whole drive (or drives) or for an individual folder. A very good program to have.

Ever since I installed an SSD some time ago, I've been having issues with the iTunes library.

I moved my entire library to a new external, however all of the library files within the Music\iTunes folder says in the original location! If I delete them, then iTunes displays no music. When I try to delete it while running iTunes, it says the files are in use, so obviously iTunes is still using them.

I already moved everything (music files) into another folder and saved it in the preferences, its just these darned files!

Attached are the files still in the original folder

A:library and header files

A DLL and a Dynamic Link Library are the same thing. They are a file containing a collection of Windows functions designed to perform a specific class or type of instructions.

Header files are files that contain functions, variables, and data that will be used by other files. These other files than include the header file allowing multiple source files to reuse the same data.

Hello there. Maybe your files are hidden,so you can't see them on Windows. To see them, follow this:
Open Computer and in left side you'll see a menu.

Click on Organise and then Folder and Search Options.

A window called Folder Options will pop up.

There click on View tab,and select Show hidden files, folders and drives.

My notebook's music library had three locations:
That last one is on a Windows Home Server. I decided to remove the server's music folder from the notebook's music library because I only wanted the files that are on the notebook to be displayed in the music library.

The problem is that Zune, Media Center and Windows Media Player 12 all still show files from the server's music folder. I verified that the server's music folder is no longer listed as a location in the notebook's music library. I've also rebooted the notebook.

Hello TSF, I have recently redone my Vista Ultimate system and will also redo my Win 7 system. I have read a few threads about what I want to do but the methods all differ. So I still have the this question: What is the BEST non registry damaging way to reroute the user files? I would really like my OS partition to just be that.. my OS & drivers -- nothing else.

LMiller brought up a suggestion that wasn't expanded on in this thread:
move users folder?

I already have programs going to a different partition but I would like
my documents, my downloads folder, pictures, etc. to go to a different larger partition and be recognized in the Library system (which I never quite understood.)
Again, Is there a best way to do this and have it recognized by the library system? I am an intermediate-novice.

WMP was recently updated to ver. 11 by automatic update. I didn't like it (an understatement), so rolled it back to ver. 10 using Add/Remove and clicked Remove, whereupon it doesn't remove it, but rolls it back to the previous version.

Since then, I cannot sort the file names in the Library AND HAVE THEM STAY SORTED. I click on "Title" and they sort alphabetically in descending order. Exit WMP. Reopen WMP and they're back to the same random order they were before I sorted them. I can find nothing under Options or File or View about sorting. There must be a way to keep them sorted and I'm just not seeing it. Where can I do that?

I wouldn't have thought changing the name of one of my custom libraries could affect the files it points to, but I had a problem today. After changing the name I lost the icon for an exe file. When I clicked on it's taskbar shortcut it could not find it. I clicked on the file and it ran fine. After that, the shortcut works, but the icon on the file is still gone. The icon on the taskbar is still there.

It's not really a problem, just a head scratcher. Anyone have any thoughts on it?

A:Can changing the name of a library affect the files it points to?

Hi,So I tried this today and did find a small problem - not sure if it's quite the same as yours. When I created a shortcut to a (.exe) file in a custom library, the shortcut path was Libraries\OldName. So if I then put this shortcut onto my taskbar (desktop, etc) and changed the name of the library, the shortcut still pointed to Libraries\OldName rather than Libraries\NewName.Strange! I'd have thought that really the shortcut should have been created the actual location of the file rather than a place in a library. Perhaps this explains your problem too?Casey

Hello I have created a library called integrate I view? Question: Can "Arrange the by Library Folder" quot America quot and put folders into it quot East quot Library Question: Can I integrate the "Arrange by Folder" view? quot West quot quot North quot and quot South quot Each of these regional folders real folders not libraries contains a separate folder for each state in that region Thus the quot West quot folder contains folders called quot California quot quot Oregon quot etc Lastly each state folder contains all types of files pertaining to the specific state When I open the quot America quot library I would like to see an integrated and alphabetized listing of ALL the state folders quot Alabama quot quot Alaska quot quot Arkansas quot etc However when I configure the library to sort by folder it sorts the state folders by name but only WITHIN their respective regions That's not my vision I'm looking for an integrated A-to-Z list of all the folders across all the regions Alternatively if I select the quot Sort by name quot option then all the state folders disappear and they are replaced by a very long list of all the component files -- it's an integrated alphabetized list good but of files bad not the state folders that contain them Can anyone suggest a clever tweak to move me closer to my vision Thanks Jay

can u point me in the right direction?
anyone got any links?
something for me to read?
tutorial videos?

any help would be greatly appreciated.

A:relationship between library files and cpp files etc. got links?

This page is for a CPP course that teaches about UML Diagrams, and a full coding cycle and has the information you are looking for in regards to C++ and the correct ways to write C++ applications.

This link will have the basic concepts that you're looking for:

Try to get the files downloaded because these pages don't stay alive for too long.

So I have both Windows and on my machine get library when booting Files in the saved dual wrong and am currently primarily using I save all of my work and files to my partition C whenever I choose the location Files get saved in the wrong library when dual booting but for applications programs that Files get saved in the wrong library when dual booting automatically save to a library and where I can't choose the location those Files get saved in the wrong library when dual booting programs always save it to my Windows partition E For example using Windows key PrtSc takes a screenshot of your screen and saves it to your pictures library However the picture gets saved to E Users username Pictures instead of C Users username Pictures I guess it thinks my main library is still on the partition instead of the partition The same things happens with games that I play where the save files are automatically saved in the My Games folder in My Documents The save files are saved in the E partition documents library instead of C partition documents library Basically I don't know where I'd go or what setting I'd change to fix this behavior My default OS is set to Windows in msconfig and all of my games are installed on my C drive so I don't know why they would save to my E drive Since the screenshot command uses the same behavior I'm guessing there's a setting somewhere that's making my Windows library the default Any help would be greatly appreciated

A:Files get saved in the wrong library when dual booting

Hello The Visitor,

You could use the tutorials below to help double check to see what folders you have added (included) in the libraries, and to see what folder you have set to be the default (for you) and public "save" location for a library.

Library - Add a Folder to in Windows 8

Library - Set Default & Public Save Locations in Windows 8

Hope this helps,

How do I stop a Windows library from displaying files that I have deleted from from my Library, permanently files head exploding is delete my computer More precisely how do stop them from showing up on my flat-screen TV which is connected to my home network with DLNA which is just a fancy abbreviation for permanently delete files from Library, my head is exploding a TV that can read audio and video files from your computer This is driving me completely bonkers I've spent hours trying so many solutions from forums I can't even keep track I even used a registry hack the disables libraries entirely and the files still show up It gets worse Files that are completely deleted from my computer show up in the folder as viewed permanently delete files from Library, my head is exploding on the TV though they don't play Files that have been renamed and moved to non-shared non-library folders will still play on the TV WTF is going on here I'm desperate I also did a total reset on the TV back to factory defaults in case it had some sort of cache Didn't work

I have like thousands of little vocal clips that are from tutorials or something that got added to the Media Player Library. Now, is it possible to just empty the library and start over?

A:how does one delete files from the Windows Media Player library?

Do you want the library to contain clips that you play from now on or are they in a different location that you play from anyway?

*If you have Windows Media Player started, close it so the library file won't be in use.
*Navigate to C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Microsoft\Media Index with Windows Explorer or using My Computer.
*Locate the wmlibrary...db file.

If you erase that your library will be deleted. If you want to create a new one, pointed to a location where your playble files are (elsewhere)

*Start Windows Media Player and hit F3 once it has started up.
*Enter the location that you music is and Windows Media Player will create a new library.
