AIM closing my IE

Q: AIM closing my IE

What's up with that? Send out an IM thru IE and it shuts the system down. Any thoughts?

Preferred Solution: AIM closing my IE

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/directdownload.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Normally, 99.999% of the time I just shut it down completely but I'd like to know what "sleep" means?
Does that mean if I do so, upon opening the lid it'll be where I left it at?
I notice in Control Panel>Power Options>System Settings whether its on battery or plugged in , it shows sleep.

A:Choose What closing the lid does?

I recommend sleeping the laptop if you are gonna use it after you close it within the next few hours. Otherwise shut it down.

Hi all,
I have a Toshiba Satellite A300-1EI laptop. My question is when I close the screen of the laptop, does the system stop working or is it that the screen simply goes off?
And if I have a task running like virus scan, copying files, or a download scheduler is running, are these tasks stopped or do they still go on even after just closing the screen?
Is this common with laptops of all brands?

thanks
saif

A:What does closing the screen actually do?

Hibernation: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hibernate_(OS_feature)
Lots of excellent info there

But all processes (Virus scan; copying .. etc) will pause, until you open the lid again

A:Computer won't start anymore after closing it with Power Supply Switch

Hello and welcome to Techspot.

If after trying your other psu it`s still dead, It`s got to be either the mobo or cpu.

I think for whatever reason, you`ve had a short circuit of some kind and it`s fried either the psu/mobo/cpu.

You`ve seem to have tried all the right things, so I can`t really suggest anything else.

This is surely a stupid question but I'm a Mac person and just learning about the "other" side.

One of our exec's is having a wake from sleep issue with his IBM Thinkpad (X31). He often has to hastily close the lid with the machine powered on and has difficulty getting it to wake up later.

2 questions.

Is the machine going into standy or hibernation mode when he does this?

What key(s) does he need to mash to wake it up? (preferably in an unlocked state.)

Thanks in advance.

I believe with XP you can do either as well as just shut off the screen when you close the lid. Check the power option settings in control panel. Click my computer->control panel->power options

I have a user that needs an excel document closed. When you try to open it it will tell you that it is opened but it dosn't tell you by whom so it's read only.

I'm thinking the individual who had it open has closed it since there is no name but that it's stuck in their temp files; in which case they need to reboot but we don't know who needs to reboot and we don't reboot machines on the server at night in case we need to push patches to them.

I've tried copying the files to my HD and deleting them from the server but they always reappear. I tried also to take ownership and then deleting them but that does nothing to help.

Does anyone have any other ideas that DO NOT include rebooting the server?

A:Problems Closing opened documents

Copy the file's contents over into a new spreadsheet. Then save that under a different name. Abandon the file that gives problems, send an email to all possible users until you find the real owner.

When closing a tab in internet explorer 8.0 it takes forever. Even when I have only 3 tabs open. I use to be able to have 8+ tabs open in two different sessions with no issues. Nothing new has been added or deleted from the computer.

Also open a new tab take very long, not as long as closing a tab.

I have deleted cookies, files ect in internet options/del browsing history. I also ran Avast, SUPERAntiSpyware, Malwarebytes and Ccleaner.

Whats Up Guys.

For some reason, when I'm doing my normal computing activities, my Firefox window closes for no apparent reason.

I realised I had a problem right now when I was listening to a radio station in a window and that disappeared while the stream kept on playing.

Also, not quite sure if this is related or not, but I have a yellow triangle with a exclamation point that comes up in my start up tray from time to time.

Could any of you guys please give me some help as to why my Firefox windows are closing prematurely like this and to why that yellow triangle is coming up like that.

Any help or direction to helpful threads would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks As Always.

I'm not sure how to fix your current problem, but I am here to tell you to be careful when downloading things from P2P networks. There is quite a bit of CRAP loaded on those networks, and it can screw up your computer quicker than you can say "Oh NO!"

Hey,

I was wondering if anyone knew a way to get extra power options for XP?

The default is, when you close the lid, you can either choose to "standby" or "do nothing". Does anyone know if it's possible to set it to do different things depending on if the laptop is plugged in or running off battery?

Thanks!

Hello. I need help! I have Microsoft picture it 2001 that I used on my win98 without issues. I now have win xp and it's had a couple issues, but it's workable. I just upgraded my RAM and now when I open the picture it, it opens, then when I choose a task the whole program shuts down. I have alot of stuff saved using this program and I really need it!
I did try to uninstall and re install, but it's still not letting me in.

Is this because of the RAM, or is it just coincidence that this is happening?

Thanks! LM

A:Need help with my picture it closing on me

Please run Memtest on your Ram
And confirm all your Device Drivers are up to date

By the way, if you "upgraded" to XP, it would have been best to clean install XP (ie start from a formatted disk, without any prior operating system on it) This is because any previous unknown issues may have now been brought over to your XP system

Therefore you might want to think about a clean install (backup first though)

Edit:

I don't think Microsoft picture it 2001 works on XP anyway
It's amazing it installed
Best to update this program, to latest version, I feel (if you want it, I don't use it)

When I run nmap on my enterprise box I get a list of ports (see below). Sunrpc I presume is used for an NFS mount I have to another box, ncd-pref is also related to caching of the mount (I'm guessing) ... but what is sometimes-rpc3 and do I need it open? Also ... why is X11 open like that twice when I run X on another box and use it with vnc etc without having to leave a port open specifically for X11 or X11:4.

Starting nmap V. 3.00 ( www.insecure.org/nmap/ )
Interesting ports on pblade2 (127.0.0.1):
(The 1593 ports scanned but not shown below are in state: closed)

5977/tcp open ncd-pref-tcp

6004/tcp open X11:4

I do appreciate your time and advice.

Thanks.

Oh that's that close idle tasks, or exit unresponsive programs automatically issue (although most actually want this to happen)
Seeming it's the opposite of what users normally want to do, I'm unsure (actually I could work out the registry key)
Just do a search on the above (idle tasks, close unresponsive programs) and work backwards from what's done

If possible please tell us what the computer shops did to repair your system in bullit points.

Secondly please give us your full hardware profile in bullet points as well. It makes it much easier this way. Yes, we know you have a 250 psu but we'd like the brand name. Also video card, etc. How old is this system?

Lastly...

How to find and post your Minidump Files:

My Computer > C Drive > Windows Folder > Minidump Folder > Minidump Files.

It is these files that we need (not the folder). Attach to your next post the five most recent dumps. Notice the Manage Attachments button at the bottom when you go to post the next time. You can Zip up to five files per Zip; if you only have one or two you don?t need to zip them, just attach as is. Please do us a favor and don?t Zip each one individually.

All three files specifically cite the MAudio driver MAudioDelta.sys as the cause of your system crashes.

MAudio has a poor reputation for tech support, i.e. answering questions, resolving issues, and driver updates which can be far and few between (just read the forums from MAudio customers; I'm have MAudio items so I speak from experience).

However, seeing that it appears that you have higher end MAudio items you may find better support. Please keep us updated.

A:Constant beeping on startup, and windows automatically closing. Web browsers stopping

Constant beeping is always some sort of warning. Does your laptop have a video card that could possibly have become disconnected? Is your memory seated tightly. When a ram module becomes loose, it too can cause a beeping. Good Luck. I'm sorry, but I don't know anything about laptops otherwise.

A:Internet Explorer Closing

Hello and welcome to Techspot.

I have moved your thread to a more appropriate forum.

There are a number of possible causes for your problem.

Viruses/malware etc could be responsible.

IE may have become corrupted in some way.

Let`s check to make sure you don`t have anything nasty lurking on your system. If your system checks out clean, then we`ll see what else we can do.

Go and read this thread HERE, then post a HJT log as an attachment into this thread.

well hello to you all!
i have a problem with my pc, it an old one, the only one i own.
anyway the problem is this..... when i boot up my pc decides to open programmes all on their own and also closes them. sometimes its after i have been running for a while and sometimes as the service or programmes load.
i have formatted my pc perhaps half a dozen times thinking that it may have been virused, but after i have formatted and run my pc it starts doing it all over again. therefore i can assume that its not viruses. so i have come to you for your experienced advice.

:giddy:

A:programmes opening and closing on their own

If the pc is used online then its probably getting viruses and spyware over and over again. You need to protect it.

I continue getting the following error message each time I close Internet Explorer.
The instruction at "0x01eb4213" referenced memory at "0x0171ad58". The memory could not be "read". Click on OK to terminate the program.

I've run MemTest without any problem being identified. Sometimes when I run sfc /scannow, the problem seems to go away for a little while. I'm running a Dell Inspiron 5100 laptop with Windows XP Home. Help!

A:Winword exe process does not close after closing word 2000

There are a few things you can look into.
In the Start/Programs/Startup folder is probably an entry with a small flag and Microsoft Office. Delete that entry. (this is a process also known as OSA9.EXE for Office2K, or OSA10.EXE for OfficeXP). If you have the Binder program running, stop that as well.
Next, Stop the Indexing Service under Computer Management, and set it to Disabled, it will make your PC faster.
Another influence could be the Office plug-in from Norton/Symantec antivirus. This unnecessarily delays opening/closing of any office files. UN-tick it somewhere in the NAV-settings. Other AV-programs have something similar. Even when you disable it, the AV will still check office-attachments in emails (which is all it needs to do).
When you open a .doc file, the WINWORD.EXE will show up in the Process list of task-manager, and the Document-name will show up under Applications.
Opening a second .doc will (should) only open up another Application in task-manager, but should not open a second instance of Word.
If that is the case, there is something wrong in the Office settings, and an Office-repair should do the trick. Click on Add/Remove programs, select Office 2000, click on "support information", in there a button "Repair" will show up.

Dear Forum,

I have had an ASUS n551jk for about five months now and am very pleased with it. I keep it clean by running malware checks every week en clearing out my folders. However, since a month or 2, my laptop has started booting up after closing the lid.

In the settings it is configured that when I close the lid the laptop should go to sleep, which it does. But quite often when I take my laptop out of its cover after I haven't used it for a while it is piping hot and the battery is empty; obviously, the laptop has rebooted itself.

I have checked whether this is caused by my network configuration, which is not the case. I fear that the overheating when my laptop reboots while in its cover may damage its performance, so I am looking for a solution.

Can anyone help?

Thank you!

A:Laptop reboots itself after closing the lid. Need help!

Firstly I want to point out a Laptop should never be placed in a sleeve if it is not turned off.
Secondly the problem can be caused by a Microsoft service running that momentarily starts, to look for updates etc.
Make sure Windows Update is turned off, or even better, turn the Laptop off.

Is there any point in closing ports to shut down RAT communication if one of the trojans or viruses installed an alternate operating system and alternate bootloader?

A:closing ports

I have never heard of a RAT installing an alternative OS, a bootloader yes. Anyways, back to the question. Yes, disrupting communications will buy you time. Time to backup everything. Then you still have to re-install Windows. Take care of what you backup, if you know which file is the RAT, then all is good. However if you don't know, then I would backup only your data: docs, pictures etc. But the best way to begin backup is to disconnect the ethernet wire or disable the WiFi connection ( of a laptop ),

Closing Windows 10, a Windows alert says Elara app is delaying the shutdown and asked me to kill it. After few seconds this app finally closed.

I don't have any app with this name and I can't find any file on my hd with this name. I've found in Google Elara app is a virus, but there are really few results and info about Elara.

I used MBAM (latest version and updated db) but my pc is clear.

Any hint?

By the way Windows 10 is slowing down my PC. I'm not 100% sure but maybe Windows 10 installed new Toshiba apps (crapware?) on my Toshiba notebook. How can I find PUPs slowing down my PC?

A:Elara app delaying windows 10 closing

Also just encountered this on Windows 10. Wondering what Elara is. Tried defender and MBAM, TDSS, and ADW which all came back clean.

Edit: I just noticed that in my task manager my "Alps pointing device driver" has the same icon that Elara had when it sais it was preventing my system from shutting down. Perhaps not a virus?

Hi thank you in advance for any help you can give D Ok so noticed recently that dllhost exe has been opening and closing alot I don't think that it doing this is new though I think that it probably always did this I just been noticing it more cause I got second monitor and now I have task manager open all the time on the second screen which is why I now see it when it happens My question is Is it normal for it to open and close all the time it seems to appear in task manager if I open a folder with thumbnails in it or videos in it or every time I open a music file But sometimes it seems opening time. the all closing and dllhost.exe, to open randomly when using steam or even when just playing a game Although if I just leave the pc idle like nothing is running it does seem to open less often I did Hitman Pro TDSSKiller MBAM amp hijackthis scans and everything came back clean I also dllhost.exe, opening and closing all the time. checked the file in process exploer and it said it was Verified Microsoft and the Virustotal mini scan in process explorer also said detection Also the file dictionary is windows system And the file does appear to have a Microsoft digital signature The reason I ask as well is that dllhost never used to open as often as this on my old computer which also had win pro x although the new pc has service pack and the old one didn't could that be why Annway I have a suspicion that this dllhost could be causing micro stutter poor performance in some games on the new pc Just wondering what the likelihood is that dllhost is causing the stutter in some games so I can rule that out in my quest to solve the micro stuffer in one game particularly Thank you for any info you can give

HP Pavilion, Windows 32-bit Vista. I've been having this problem at work now for the past few weeks. We have free wi-fi there, and at times when I would close out of the internet, it would close, and then I would get the blue screen. It would then ask to restart windows normally, which I would do, and it would work fine. Lately, its been doing this more often, and now its doing it at my other job and home also. All are wi-fi access if that matters. I always get the pop up box that says windows was shut down and that microsoft would alert me to a solution. It doesn't happen with any other program.
Any suggestions?
Thanks!

Hello-
Each time I close out of XP, after going to the start button and give the command to "Turn off the Computer" the blue screen tells me that the system is going through, let's say, 8 updates.  The system will then start to, I assume, load the updates (1 of 8 completed, 2 of 8 completed, 3 of 8 completed...) and will eventually close after what can be up to 10 minutes.
Not sure what I have done, but I would hope there is an easy solution.
Thank you!

A:Possible Malware, programs opening and then closing

I didn't realize that my topic had been moved, here and reposted in the other forum but here:
I have malware it seems, I have no idea where it came from or how but its been giving me serious problems for a couple days now. When I try to open task manager, it closes it out, when I try to run updates it keeps it from updating, system restore, NOPE. I have researched pretty much everything, deleted the programs that I was able to find that is behind the malware. I have run rkill, roguekiller, hitman pro, malware bytes, anything I can find or try to get rid of it. They will delete the malware, I will restart my computer and its back. I have no idea what do and I am at my wits end.

After downloading an addon pack for a game, I noticed that my adblock had been removed from chrome. I tried to reinstall but was denied access. An ad search program had been installed on to my computer. I unistalled chrome and went to reinstall but the page no longer loads.

When opening IE or Firefox they both suddenly close if I am opening a video or trying to load the chrome site. I have run malwarebytes and it has come up with no viruses. When I try booting into safe mode with networking, I get a blue screen telling me the computer has been shut down to prevent further damage. Any help or tips is appreciated.

Hi. I've been getting a BSOD crash intermittently when I close programs like Mozilla Firefox or Starcraft and Counterstrike: Source. The only thing I remember seeing from the BSOD is Quota_Underflow. I turned off the automatic restart just now. I downloaded the .exe file in the sticky but I'm not sure how to get the log from the BSOD.

Would really appreciate the help.

Hi and thanks for taking the time to read this.

I have been getting the BSOD frequently in the last week and could not figure out if it happens when I use a specific programme. Today I realised it happens regardless of programme, when I adjust the lid to avoid reflections. It also does it when I close the lid without shutting down the laptop.

I am far from an expert in computers but after reading around the site I think I have managed a) to activate the driver verifier and b) to get the DM log collector report which I am attaching here.

Hope you can help!
Thanx in advance

I upgraded to Windows 10 when it first came out, and everything has been fin until recently. It feels like most everything I click on has a 1 in 20 chance of just closing itself with no error message. In Edge for instance if I double click on the top part to full-screen the page a message pops up asking if I would like to close all tabs, this message could pop up any time I click anywhere but it occurs 100% of the time if I double click the top.

League of Legends clients will flicker on the taskbar as if something is trying to close the program but failing, and occasionally it will close itself with no warning, same with a lot of Steam games, any other browsers, or most programs I try. I just recently reset my computer attempting to fix the issue but the problem is still there, any help is greatly appreciated

A:Programs are Randomly Closing Themselves

Start Task Manager from the taskbar, click on More details if it is showing no tabs. Then click on the Startup tab. Disable all programs there from auto starting and see if the problem continues.

I have my laptop set to sleep when i close laptop lid.

But problem is, when i shut down my laptop, i have to leave it open. Otherwise it will go to standby in the middle of shutdown process.

Is there any way to disable sleep when shutting down, so i can close lid immediately after pressing shut down button?

A:Shutdown + closing laptop lid

Sometimes people install windows without fully reinstating the manufacturer's drivers and can't work out why they have not got various power options - just a general observation.

If you have all your manufacturers chipset drivers installed, windows 7 power configuration for Power buttons and Lid is found deep in the Advanced Power Options of the Edit Power Plan Settings, from the Control Panel applet, Power Options.

Another way is to take yourself to the Control Panel>All Control Panel Items>Power Options>System Settings screen.

Each power plan can be configured to behave differently, so you may have to do this for both battery and plugged in options. It is fairly straightforward with options Sleep, Shut down and Do nothing.

If you set shutdown or standby from the start menu, the do nothing option is for you.

Unlike the drives listed in Computer/Windows Explorer, every folder that is also displayed on the Desktop (e.g. User, Libraries, Network, Control Panel) won't collapse automatically in the Navigation Pane when closing the Explorer. So most
time I'm starting the Explorer, the first thing I have to do is closing the folder-trees of the directories I don't use and don't want to see expanded.
Is there any possibility to change that annoyance?

A:Collapse all folder-trees when closing Explorer

Hi, Mathrius:
That state information is stored in the registry key HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Modules\NavPane. If you delete the
ExpandedState registry value, the next time you open Explorer it will show the "default" tree state.
I'm not aware of a better way to reset that information, or always show the default state. Maybe if you remove the "Set value" permission on that registry key for your user... but that's a bit hacky and I don't know if it can cause other unwanted problems.Microsoft MVP Windows Expert Consumer | http://www.wintecnico.com

So my Task Manager not closing programs, explorer is not responding I am getting stuck on log of screen, Computer Management gets stuck of "Connecting to Virtual Disk Service" and a number of other programs are crashing and not restarting. I am running IE on Windows After booting up the computer I can open IE once or twice by closing and opening it again But if I try and close and open the program a third time or sometimes the second time IE opens but won't load a page Furthermore and very strangely once this happens I also can't open Chrome or Firefox - Chrome load also with a blank page and Firefox won't open at all It is as if IE has taken control of Internet access but is frozen nbsp and nbsp the only solution to get a browser working again at that point is to restart the computer Ghis just started happening a couple of days ago Outlook does seem to continue to work - it is just the browsers that are frozen I have already tried nbsp deselecting IE from the Windows list of program that you can get to from the Programs and Features control panel restarting then nbsp reselecting it and restarting again I also tried resetting the IE settings form the Internet Options control panel What I have not yet tried is IE it load page twice. once 11 and or after opening won't closing completely uninstalling and then reinstalling IE I have Norton and it has not found a virus IE 11 won't load page after opening and closing it once or twice. but maybe there is a corrupted file

I re-downloaded a game called Maplestory and it has worked on this computer before but it has been crashing a few minutes after the program has come up. I get into the game, I jump around for a bit, and then a Microsoft Windows messages pops up saying "Maplestory has stopped working." It crashed so many times that I got a popup saying Data Execution Prevention has stopped Maplestory and I have already added the .exe to the exceptions column but it is still causing it to close. Here is a photo, I don't know why it keeps crashing it. I am running on a 64-bit Vista Home Premium.

I used to have a gadget on my desktop that would open and close my dvd drive which was very convenient for me as I can't easily reach the button while sitting in my chair (and if I stretch, I CAN take out or put in a disc)

Is there an app in Windows 10 will do that?

I just downloaded Windows 10 yesterday night and after using it for the first time this morning, I decided to try out Microsoft Edge. Whenever I open it from the app section or the bottom tab section, it shuts down automatically after two seconds. I don't so much as get an error message, it just closes as if I pressed the close button. However, when I ask Cortana to open up some sort of search, then the window works and stays open. Does anyone seem to know what the problem is? Thank you in advance.

Hello

Apologies if this is in the wrong section. This question may be stupid but here goes... Say I have 3 or 4 windows open in Outlook for example in Windows 10, when I minimise or close one window I should automatically view the one behind it once that isn't minimised but when I do this it brings me to the Desktop every time rather than another window I want to view. Anyone know how to fix this?

Thanks

A:Programs Closing

Hi,

Never heard of something like this, but the Graphics Card situation sounds familiar. I doubt your GPU is causing your programs to close though. Here's what I would do if I were in your shoes:

Uninstall and reinstall your GPU. Grab the latest drivers and make sure they are properly installed.Run an antivirus check. I personally recommend Malwarebytes Free.

Hope this helps.

A:programs auto closing

Are you entering cmd from run new task? If so it should stay open until you close it.

I've been consistently getting daily blue screens with various error codes for a while now. Just wanted to see if there was anything I could do to resolve the issue before I start buying new hardware. I've already run memtest with no errors and checkdisk which fixed a few errors but did nothing to resolve the blue screens. Thanks for any help.

I get BSOD and restart with error IRQL not less or equal after closing browser, media player.

A:IRQL not less or equal after closing browser, media player, etc

2 attempts of moving memory to virtual memory has caused the crash.
This is because the permission to move the memory was too high.
We need driver verifier to catch the driver causing this.

 DRIVER VERIFIER

   Warning
Please make a backup of your important files and get your rescue media or create one.
Please create a restore point.
Please follow this tutorial to run driver verifier.

Driver verifier stresses your drivers and will crash your pc if any driver fails due to a violation.

Driver verifier should be performed for a max of 48 hours, or when you have a bluescreen, whatever comes first.

If driver verifier has found a violation and you can't get back into windows normally, try to boot into safe mode and reset in safe mode driver verifier, or in the troubleshooting options open command prompt and type verifier /reset.

   Note
Your system will act very sluggishly while driver verifier is enabled, this is normal as your drivers will be being subjected to heavy testing in order to make them crash.

In my favourites bar in Edge I have more favourites folders than there is space for across the screen so there is a down arrow on the right. When I click on this down arrow the remaining favourites folders appear. If I launch Edge, click on the down arrow and select one of these remaining folders, Edge closes down. However, if I launch Edge and select one of the folders in the favourites bar across the top of the screen this doesn't happen. And once I've selected one of these folders in the favourites bar across the top of the screen I can then click the down arrow and select one of these favourites and Edge does not close down. Can anyone suggest what I can do to put this right, please?

And one other thing, every so often Edge starts flashing on and off. I wonder if that's connected with the above problem.

A:Microsoft Edge keeps closing down

Not sure about edge bookmarks and edge shutting down, as far as edge flashing every once in while that is probably a notification of something.

Open Settings > System > Notifications & actions, scroll down and see what's set to on under "Show notifications from these Apps" to notify you. I use IE11 and the homepage tab was flashing perodically, found that Window Explorer was set to on. I moved it to off and the homepage flashing tab stopped, never figured out what exactly it was notifying me about, but it stopped when I turned notifications off.

When I have finished updating bank entries, etc., in MS Money, I close the program. But should I then remember something and perhaps want to make an adjustment, or simply look for details, when I attempt to open it I receive the message " Money is already running"! I have used this program for three or four years now, and have never had this appear previously. If I leave it for a minute or so, it has cleared, but the fact that I have never had this happen before makes me wonder if there is anything I can do to avoid it occurring at all, as up to recently it never did.

A:Message after closing MS Money

It might just not be fully done closing yet. Probably nothing to worry about.

The last 2 days FF keeps closing after 1-2mins.

I don't even get the crash report now it just closes and upon opening it takes me the restore session.

I have done a fresh install of it deleting all known traces of FF and although better it still closes but now maybe after 7-10 mins.

I'm running Win10 Pro (clean install)

I tried to do a system restore to roll back 3 days but I get an error saying it couldn't complete the restore.

I have done a full system scan with defender that took around 10-12 hours but all came back clear.

I'm using edge for now but really would like to get FF back.

Any ideas most welcome please.

Hello. So this is my next similiar topic here, last topic was closed. I will be very greatful to answer last time. This time i add one important simple info.
Problem was with Automatic repair during 1 boot.
Everytime i was restarting properly Windows 10 by button RESTART from START in next boot i have Automatic Repair. On next boot i was able to boot fine to Windows 10.
But this is more important info which i dont said earlier: "Event viewer showing that system was not closed properly", but it was closed properly. Where was issue? Software or hardware related?

System was installed on MBR partition.

But after format to GPT is ok, but i would like to know if it was caused hardware or software.

Hi! I would like to ask someone more informed than me, or members of the insider program, if there are plans or rumors about adding this feature to Cortana: ability to close her with a voice command. Something like "Thank you" or "See ya" would be very nice and useful!!!

The correct phrase would be: "Hey Cortana, close Cortana"

Alternatively, you could say "Hey Cortana...", if she listens but doesn't receive a command within a few seconds, she will close automatically.

Or, you can press the Windows Key rapidly twice.

Hello everyone.

I have been having problems with my computer recently and cannot understand why. I hope you can help.

1) I have been having multiple BSOD's
2) A problem with programs opening and closing by themselves.
3) Lastly I am also having a problem where sometimes I am typing and and spaces start appearing between letters without me pressing spacebar and also as I am typing on the internet it enters without me pressing enter.

Can anyone help?

Only you can help yourself. If you do not have BIOS problems, helps only Windows clean  installation. Everything else is just a waste of time, and the result is still the same.

A:desktop icons closing after opening

Icons don't open and close. Perhaps you mean that the program associated with the icon shortcut opens and then closes.
Select one Icon and its associated program that opens then closes.
1. Right click the icon and select target.
2. Paste the full path of the address that is in the Target box here. I'm trying to determine if your icons are corrupt. In other words, a new shortcut has to be made from the Program in the All Programs list.
