I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/directdownload.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Windows32 might be malware related. You might want to post your thread in the Malware Removal section.

Warning window pops up at startup.

This window pops up on my laptop each time I startup.

Is there a way to fix this.

A:Solved: Warning window pops up at startup.

Hmmm, try Start>Run>type msconfig and press OK, under the startup tab, look for this file, maybe it's loading at startup and shouldn't be - you can then uncheck it and test it!

Every time I start my PC, this Internet Connection Sharing cmd window pops up. It displays some commands and halts. Then I need to close it. It never used to happen earlier, but since a couple of week its happening continuously.

Following window appears on the startup and displays some command automatically.
Any idea what's happening?

A:Internet Connection Sharing cmd window pops up at startup

Do you use ICS? if not I would just remove the startup entry. If you need the OCS service running you will need to be enabled in "control Panel" - Administrative tools" - "Services". It would appear that the service has been disabled and a batch file is asking it to start. Please can you post screenshots of the startup section in msconfig (just type "msconfig" into the start menu).

When Windows Update prompted to restart upon installation of updates (Nov. 10, 2011), and I restarted my computer, this Windows Defender window now pops-up everytime I start my computer:

I had Windows Defender enabled for months now, when this happened.

I then tried to turn off Windows Defender, but this window now pops-up instead:

The Windows Defender window still pops-up even if it is disabled. How do I disable the Windows Defender windows from popping-up when I start my computer?

My OS is Windows 7, 64-bit.

A:Keep Getting Ise32 Properties Window On Startup

It's not unusual to receive such an error after using tools to remove malware infection.A "Cannot find...", "Could not run...", "Error loading... or "specific module could not be found" message is usually related to malware that was set to run at startup but has been deleted. Windows is trying to load this file but cannot locate it since the file was mostly likely removed during an anti-virus or anti-malware scan. However, an associated orphaned registry entry remains and is telling Windows to load the file when you boot up. Since the file no longer exists, Windows will display an error message. You need to remove this registry entry so Windows stops searching for the file when it loads. To resolve this, download Autoruns, search for the related entry and then delete it.Create a new folder on your hard drive called AutoRuns (C:\AutoRuns) and extract (unzip) the file there. (click here if you're not sure how to do this.)Open the folder and double-click on autoruns.exe to launch it.Please be patient as it scans and populates the entries. When done scanning, it will say Ready at the bottom.Scroll through the list and look for a startup entry related to the file(s) in the error message.Right-click on the entry and choose delete.Reboot your computer and see if the startup error returns.IMPORTANT NOTE: ise32.exe is related to the family of worms and IRC backdoor Trojans. Backdoor Trojans, IRCBots and Infostealers are very dangerous because they provide a means of accessing a computer system that bypasses security mechanisms and steal sensitive information like passwords, personal and financial data which they send back to the hacker. Remote attackers use backdoor Trojans as part of an exploit to gain unauthorized access to a computer and take control of it without your knowledge. Read Danger: Remote Access Trojans. If your computer was used for online banking, has credit card information or other sensitive data on it, all passwords should be changed immediately to include those used for banking, email, eBay, paypal and online forums. You should consider them to be compromised. They should be changed by using a different computer and not the infected one. If not, an attacker may get the new passwords and transaction information. Banking and credit card institutions should be notified of the possible security breach. Because your computer was compromised please read How Do I Handle Possible Identify Theft, Internet Fraud and CC Fraud? Although the backdoor Trojan was identified and removed, your PC has likely been compromised and there is no way to be sure the computer can ever be trusted again. It is dangerous and incorrect to assume that because the backdoor Trojan has been removed the computer is now secure. Many experts in the security community believe that once infected with this type of malware, the best course of action is to wipe the drive clean, reformat and reinstall the OS. Please read "When should I re-format? How should I reinstall?" and "Help: I Got Hacked. Now What Do I Do?".

Hi,
This problem has been occurring for a while. A few minutes after windows starts, a small internet explorer window suddenly pops up for a few seconds and then automatically disappears. The window displays nothing more than "Internet explorer cannot display the page." It is as if this is some kind of adware that comes up everytime windows starts except that no ads show up as I have an adblocker HOSTS file. I would really like to get rid of this issue. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks.

Hello,
When using MS Outlook or firing up IE, the "Windows Installer" window briefly pops up, sometimes flickering (as if multiple closings and openings are occuring), stating "Preparing to install ... ". Then the box goes away.

From what I can tell, nothing has installed.

In MS Outlook, this behavior always occurs when I am opening an email. In IE it only happens when I fire up Internet Explorer.

The only thing that has changed on my system prior to noticing this behavior is that I have installed the most recent versions of BlackBerry Desktop Manager and BlackBerry Device Mananger.

Thank You In Advance

A:Window Installer window briefly pops up

Hi Machine13705

It's possible that the blackberry installations tweaked a Registry setting, or didn't complete their installations elegantly.

I'd probably try the blackberry installation again as a first try. Then try running a Registry Cleaner such as CCleaner (in case loose ends are causing trouble --- http://www.download.com/CCleaner/300...ml?tag=lst-0-1 --- the "Issues" section of CCleaner is the one that helps clear up Registry oddballs).

If that doesn't help, for the Outlook behavior you can try Microsoft's suggested repair (in case it's the tweaked-Office Registry setting --- their quick-fix is a "Language version tool" that you can download and try, and they have two other possible repairs as well) http://support.microsoft.com/kb/265194

And, since you are running Windows XP -- you can always try the System Restore tool, using a restore point from just before you first installed the blackberry updates & the trouble started. You might have to reinstall the blackberry update again after this (but you might not! - it depends on where the settings are that were changed).

Last -- anytime you have unusual behavior from your system, it's a good idea to run some malware scans. Use the "thorough" or "High" settings.

Best of luck
. . . Gary

Hi, thadiiva.

Welcome to TSG.

Save HJTInstall.exe to your desktop.
Doubleclick on the HJTInstall.exe icon on your desktop.
By default it will install to C:\Program Files\Trend Micro\HijackThis .
Click on Install.
It will create a HijackThis icon on the desktop.
Once installed, it will launch Hijackthis.
Click on the Do a system scan and save a logfile button. It will scan and the log should open in notepad.
Click on "Edit > Select All" then click on "Edit > Copy" to copy the entire contents of the log.
Come back here to this thread and Paste the log in your next reply.
DO NOT have Hijackthis fix anything yet. Most of what it finds will be harmless or even required.

Every 15 minutes or so, the command prompt window flashes. It opens and closes so fast that I cannot read whatever it says. I have run various virus and malware checks, and I have looked for suspicious services. No luck.

Any suggestions of how to find the cause of this?

Thanks

A:Command Window Pops Up

I would check Task Scheduler to see if anything in their is running it.

Another option would be to install Process Monitor. This will create a log of evrything that runs on your computer. When you see the cmd window launch you can then look at Process Monitor to see what launched it.

A:[SOLVED] Too many pops up window...please help!

Hello and welcome to TSF.

Please note that more than one round may be needed to properly eradicate malware. In co-operation with the cleaning process, please: do not uninstall/install any programs unless asked to do so, to make it easier on us as it is more difficult when files/programs are appearing in/disappearing from the logs;
do not run any tools or scans other than those requested;
follow all instructions in the order they are presented;
if you have problems with or do not understand the instructions, ask before continuing;
stay with this thread until given the All Clear, as absence of symptoms does not always mean the machine is clean;
do not attach any logs/reports, etc.. unless specifically requested to do so.
All logs/reports, etc.. must be posted in Notepad making sure the word wrap is unchecked. (In notepad click format, un-check word wrap if it is checked.)
Also note that the forum is very busy and if I don't hear from you within three days this thread will be closed.

====================

Please uninstall the following programs via Programs & Features in Control Panel:

BuzzSearch See this: SystemLookup - Global Search

DefaultTab See this: SystemLookup - Global Search

Once uninstalled, delete their associated folders, if they still exist:

C:\Program Files (x86)\BuzzSearch
C:\Program Files (x86)\DefaultTab

Press Windows logo and letter R in the keyboard simultaneously to bring up the Run box. Copy/paste the following command into the Run box and press OK.

cmd /c rd /s /q "C:\Users\Binh C Dinh\AppData\Roaming\DefaultTab"

A DOS window will open and close again, this is normal.

====================

Next,
Download ComboFix from here:

http://download.bleepingcomputer.com/sUBs/ComboFix.exe

* IMPORTANT !!! Place ComboFix.exe on your Desktop

Disable your AntiVirus and AntiSpyware applications, usually via a right click on the System Tray icon. They may otherwise interfere with ComboFix.

How to Disable Your Security Applications

Double click on ComboFix.exe & follow the prompts.

Your desktop may go blank. This is normal. It will return when ComboFix is done. ComboFix may reboot your machine. This is normal.
When finished, it shall produce a log for you. Post that log in your next reply

Note:
Do not mouseclick combofix's window whilst it's running. That may cause it to stall.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Ensure your AntiVirus and AntiSpyware applications are re-enabled.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

NOTE: If you encounter a message "illegal operation attempted on registry key that has been marked for deletion" and no programs will run - please just reboot and that will resolve that error.

Hi All,

I'm running Windows Vista 64 with IE 8 installed. Pop-up blocker is turned on, AVG is installed and constantly running. When I run IE8, occasionally, a second window will pop filling the full diplay with an advertisement. I had the same issue when I had Symantec installed. Usually, the advertisement has some relation with the web site that am on, but not all of the time. It ALWAYS fills the whole screen, not like most adds that pop up with a small window.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Right click the white area in the directory, click view, click details.

Re-post a screenshot of what it lists.

If still nothing at all, go to Start and type cmd.

Hope someone can help on this one as it has me completely at a loss, and pretty peed off!!!

ALL my JPG files, every photo on my hard-drive including 7years of birth to 7 year old have lost the Camera Information from the Properties file of every photo. In other words, no record of when the photo was taken. There are thousands of photos, so I did have them sorted by date for easy viewing, and I really don't want to manually re-enter the Photo Taken Date field!!!!

Any ideas?

Only recent changes to my computer and the installation of Trend Micro Internet Security and I've used Ccleaner to clean out rubbish.

Thanks in advance.

A:JPG Properties - Picture Date Deleted

In Windows Explorer or My Computer, View > “Choose Details”. Make sure “Date Created” is checked. Then View > Details to see if the dates are there.

If they aren’t the only thing I might suggest is to deactivate your security software to make sure it isn’t somehow interfering. I doubt that it would but you might as well try everything.

I’ve very much limited CCleaner’s scope in the few times I’ve used it, but a friend on suggestion from another friend ran it with everything checked and it didn’t interfere with his photo dates. I doubt that is what caused the problem.

Hey guys, I have a strange issue with a blank command window popping up and immediately disappearing. It happens exactly 10 minutes after booting up, every time. This is happening on a fairly new installation of Windows 7 64bit.

I'm trying to understand if its malware related or what exactly is triggering it. I've looked in msconfig startup tab for any entries that call cmd.exe but found none. I also looked in task scheduler but couldn't find anything that seemed related.

Can anyone advise on how to identify what is calling this command window? What tool might be able to help?

I'd appreciate any help. Thanks!

A:Blank CMD.exe window pops up and disappears

Hi there,my name is Marius and I will assist you with your malware related problems. Before we move on, please read the following points carefully. First, read my instructions completely. If there is anything that you do not understand kindly ask before proceeding. Perform everything in the correct order. Sometimes one step requires the previous one. If you have any problems while following my instructions, Stop there and tell me the exact nature of your problem. Do not run any other scans without instruction or add/remove software unless I tell you to do so. This would change the output of our tools and could be confusing for me. Post all logfiles as a reply rather than as an attachment unless I specifically ask you. If you can not post all logfiles in one reply, feel free to use more posts. If I don't hear from you within 3 days from this initial or any subsequent post, then this thread will be closed. Stay with me. I will give you some advice about prevention after the cleanup process. Absence of symptoms does not always mean the computer is clean. My first language is not english. So please do not use slang or idioms. It could be hard for me to read. Thanks for your understanding.   Scan with OTLDownload OTL by OldTimer and save it to your desktop.Double click on the OTL.exe icon on your desktop. Hi, I use window XP home edition. I have a desktop and laptop. Both of them have this weird problem: when I click Control Panel, double click System, the window comes up and then disappears. There are also certain websites will make the browser window crash. Some application will open and disappear in the same manner. I tried to kill spyware by using Ad-Aware, fix registry by using some free registry fixing tools. It did not work. Do you think I should pay for certain registry fixing tool or PC tuning software to do the job? I re-installed the window, the problem did not go away.Any help is appriecated!(Moderator edit: moved post to more appropriate forum. jgw)

A:Why window pops up and disappear after 1-2 seconds

BC does not recommend or advocate the use of registry cleaners. You mentioned 2 computers. Are you using a router? If so, disconnect from the net, do a hard reboot on the router and give it a strong password.Ad Aware will only get a few problems. It can take several scan tools--------------------------------------The process of cleaning your computer may require you to temporarily disable some security programs. If you are using SpyBot Search and Destroy, please refer to Note 2 at the bottom of this page. Please download Malwarebytes Anti-Malware and save it to your desktop.alternate download link 1alternate download link 2Make sure you are connected to the Internet.Double-click on mbam-setup.exe to install the application. When the installation begins, follow the prompts and do not make any changes to default settings. When installation has finished, make sure you leave both of these checked:Update Malwarebytes' Anti-MalwareLaunch Malwarebytes' Anti-MalwareThen click Finish.MBAM will automatically start and you will be asked to update the program before performing a scan.If an update is found, the program will automatically update itself.Press the OK button to close that box and continue. If you encounter any problems while downloading the updates, manually download them from here and just double-click on mbam-rules.exe to install. On the Scanner tab:Make sure the "Perform Quick Scan" option is selected. Then click on the Scan button. If asked to select the drives to scan, leave all the drives selected and click on the Start Scan button. The scan will begin and "Scan in progress" will show at the top. It may take some time to complete so please be patient. When the scan is finished, a message box will say "The scan completed successfully. Click 'Show Results' to display all objects found".Click OK to close the message box and continue with the removal process.Back at the main Scanner screen:Click on the Show Results button to see a list of any malware that was found.Make sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected. When removal is completed, a log report will open in Notepad. The log is automatically saved and can be viewed by clicking the Logs tab in MBAM.Copy and paste the contents of that report in your next reply and exit MBAM.Note:-- If MBAM encounters a file that is difficult to remove, you may be asked to reboot your computer so it can proceed with the disinfection process. Regardless if prompted to restart the computer or not, please do so immediately. Failure to reboot normally (not into safe mode) will prevent MBAM from removing all the malware. Note 2:-- MBAM may make changes to your registry as part of its disinfection routine. If you're using other security programs that detect registry changes (like Spybot's Teatimer), they may interfere with the fix or alert you after scanning with MBAM. Please disable such programs until disinfection is complete or permit them to allow the changes. To disable these programs, please view this topic: How To Temporarily Disable Your Anti-virus, Firewall And Anti-malware Programs

At boot...this window pops up warning me that they have detected a third party uninstalled n-Case, and gives me options to reinstall, uninstall, or do nothing. What is this? I, once again researched this...but, don't know actually what it means. What program uses this? and How did this happen? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks....

Hi Guys,

I've recently run Eusing Free Registry Cleaner, and since then every time I start up my PC I get a Window that pops up called Autoplay.

In the window it looks like it's quickly scrolling though the directories on the PC.

After a minute or so it stops and goes away.

It's not a big issue, but I wondered what was going on.

Anybody got any clues?

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Regards,

Paul

A:System32 Window Pops Up Frequently

Hi FullRange311, Welcome to TSG!!

That's quite a collection

First thing to do is make a folder on your hard drive, like My Documents\hjt. Move hijackthis.exe into that folder, don't run it from a temporary folder.

Start by going here: http://www.newdotnet.com/removal.html and follow PROCEDURE 4 to remove new.net.

Go into add/remove programs and remove WeatherBug and as many of those toolbars as you can.

Download Spybot http://www.spybot.us/spybotsd13.exe

Click on "Search For updates" when prompted.

Scan, click on fix problems.

Reboot.

Download AdAware SE Personal: http://www.lavasoftusa.com/support/download/

Install the program and launch it.

First, in the bottom right-hand corner of the main window click on Check for updates now then click Connect and download the latest reference files.

Then, in the main window: Click Start and under Select a scan Mode tick Perform full system scan.

Then, deselect Search for negligible risk entries.

To start the scan, click the Next button.

When the scan is finished mark everything for removal and get rid of it. (Right-click the window and choose select all from the drop down menu and then click Next)

Restart your computer and post another HJT log for review.

Are you using IE? If so, go to tools -> internet options -> where it says "tabs", click "settings". make sure that those settings aren't causing the problem, if you aren't sure, click "Reset to defaults".

Just have this annoying thing that happens when i start up my computer.
A little properties tab with Driver properties pops up every time. It says on there that it has been deleted as of everytime i log on. I close the box and everything is as normal. However, this continus to pop up everytime i start up the computer. I heard it may be some sort of virus that messes with anything that uses the usb port by not allowing the user to delete things of the usb device or something like that. But any help would be appreciated. It dosn't seen like a big problem but it is annoying.

Thanks

A:pop up re Driver properties deleted when computer starts

Click Start > Run > Type "msconfig" without the quotes > Click Ok > Click the startup tab in the window that appears. This will list everything you have running on start-up, and enable you to exclude the popup from your computers startup entries.

A:A Message Window Pops Every Time After Start

I hope you have Quicktime as I believe thisis a problem related to it. The file qttask.exe .....
Open Task Manager and end the proces(s) qttask.exe, may be more than one.
In your Quicktime directory either rename that file or delete it. You do not need it to play any QT files. Reboot.
Let us know if this worked ..thanks

not sure if this is some sort of virus. Google had no information on it whatsoever! not even when Googling it with quotes. at random times I get a window in my taskbar that is there for about 5 seconds before disappearing, the time increases to 15 seconds if I click on it, giving me enough time for me to see that it says "Name Setup: Installing" Googling "name setup installing" yielded spam results, even worse when searched with quotes. the taskbar icon has no icon whatsoever, just a generic "missing icon" icon

Before begining the fix, read this post completely. If there's anything that you do not understand, kindly ask your questions before proceeding. Ensure that there aren't any opened browsers when you are carrying out the procedures below. Save the following instructions in Notepad as this webpage would not be available when you're carrying out the fix.

It is IMPORTANT that you don't miss a step & perform everything in the correct order/sequence.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
First, click Start > Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs
In the list of installed software, look for PuritySCAN By OIN, OuterInfo, OIN Snowballwars or similar
If you find it:
Click on it and click Remove.
Reboot and delete the folder C:\Program Files\PurityScan (if it's still there)
if not:
Download and run the Oiuninstaller
There is a tutorial for the uninstaller available
When the uninstaller is done, reboot and delete the folder C:\Program Files\PurityScan (if it's still there)

Download and install CleanUp!
NOTE: CleanUp! deletes EVERYTHING out of your temp/temporary folders, it does not make backups. If you have any documents or programs that are saved in any Temporary Folders, make a backup of these before running CleanUp!. Do NOT run this program if you have XP Professional 64 bit edition. If you're unsure please do not run it! If you don't already know, you're probably not using XP64, but you can download & run this tool to find out for sure.....http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/regs...p_whichcpu.exe

Restart your computer and boot into Safe Mode by hitting the F8 key repeatedly until a menu shows up (and choose Safe Mode from the list). In some systems, this may be the F5 key, so try that if F8 doesn't work. Login on your usual account. Make sure to close any open browsers.

Whenever I insert an audio CD into my drive, I get a window which pops up asking "What do you want Windows to do?".

The options I have are to either Rip, Copy or Play the CD using a variety of programs that are automatically added to the list.

I want to add EAC (Exact Audio Copy) to that list, but I don't know how.

Any suggestions?

A:How Do You Add A Program To The Window That Pops Up When You Insert An Audio CD?

Hello Son of Spam,

This can be configured in the File Types section.
To open up this you :
- open a Windows Explorer
- Go Tools > Folder Options
- on the file types tab you select the extension (NONE) Audio CD, click Advanced and there you go to add Programs on to the list.

Same goes for a lot of other content.

I need help I've just uninstalled Internet Explorer on my laptop and I've deleted everything related about Internet Explorer Including the Internet Explorer Folder Located in Local Disk (C: )/Program Files. Then after I've restarted my laptop I opened a folder and instead of the folder opening in the same window, it opened in a new window. I've tried Researching the internet for help but the result was frustrating. I've even tried the folder Options by Clicking the "Open each folder In the same Window" Button but Nothing Happened . I'm Using an Acer Windows 7 Ultimate Laptop

Sorry if this sounds kind of vague, but I believe IE is used for some filing that is offline as well. Again, I am not the most knowledgeable about this, I am sure someone will chime in here shortly...

Hi there! I got to this post googling for a solution for my system. I have almost the same issue, just that it does NOT affect my computer on startup.

I get exactly this Desktop-Folder-Window just randomly then and when. It pops up in the middle of the work. It puts itself over the active window. It does not seem to be related to any open software or any particular user action, its really just random...

Rather annoying...

Sometimes it does not happen for a while, and then, however, it starts again. We talk about 1 new Window popping up in 5 minutes or so, sometimes more, sometimes less.

As it does not happen when starting, in my case at least, its probably not a startup-entry, as it was suggested in the previous posts.

Really weird...!

Aero Peek is off, as I prefer to use the old fashioned windows classic theme.

Thanks for any useful help!

A:Desktop-Folder-Window just randomly pops up

I'm not sure but I had a similar pop up problem a year back. like numerous amounts of my computer would open, sometimes calculator & windows media player & internet explorer too. I scanned for viruses and found nothing. I even cried an entire day thinking someone was trying to hack my computer. After some searches in Google, I came to know that it was a keyboard malfunction causing the windows to pop open themselves every time. You could try turning of your computer, unplugging the keyboard for a while. also, try a different keyboard and see if stuffs still pop up. hope this helps some.

edit: could you post a screen shot of your windows too?

Hi I have an excel file with a macro that runs at Excel running of VBA instead up window macro pops startup via the quot ThisWorkbook -- gt Workbook Open quot method The function of the macro is to allow people to open up a text file the output of a laboratory instrument and automatically copy some data from that into the excel file itself This is used to examine trends over time This file is in constant use by users at remote sites Every so often they email me saying it has stopped working and nobody can use it They tell me that when they open up the file the Microsoft Visual Basic editor opens up instead of running the macro They insist that no error message is displayed prior to this Excel VBA window pops up instead of running macro I open up the file check that it works do Debug -- gt Clear All Breakpoints and Debug -- gt Compile VBAProject just in case and then re-save the file Then the users report that it is working again It s as if somebody s installation of Excel is corrupting the file on save But in that case why does it work when I open it It is saved on a Novell partition which I no longer have access to so when it goes wrong they email it to me I suppose this could have something to do with it so I m going to ask for access to that directory and see if I can open it from there EDIT Opened the file direct from the Novell directory as the users are doing and didn t get the VBA window pop up Meanwhile does this problem ring any bells for anybody nbsp

Here is a new problem. It seems it only started the other day when I fixed the AUTORUN to stop running the disks every time I put one in!.

WELL I fixed that! It doesnt run the disks automatically when i insert them!.. which is good !

But now everytime i put in a new disk or swap them, i get the EXPLORER window automatically popping up displaying the contents of the disk. Is there a way to stop that? It is getting to be very annoying.

Thank you!

I ran a disc clean up and now every time I click on something the Windows installer pops up and I have to wait a few minutes for it to install the program. Everything works after it installs.

What have I done?? Even entering the Internet it has to install before I can proceed.

A:Every time I click on something the Window installer pops up!!

Hello ,

Go to Start/Control Panel/Performance and Maintenance/Admin Tools/Services
Right click on Windows Installer/Properties.
The Windows Installer service will be started, and the Stop button will be disabled.
Use the drop down box to change Startup type to “Disabled”, click Apply, then OK, and reboot your computer. This stops the service.

After your computer reboots, go back to Services
Open Windows Installer Properties again and change the Startup type back to Manual.

Two problems.

1.) When I start my computer these days, a window pops up titled C:\Program Files\NVIDIA.
It contains a file folder icon and an Nvidia file.

2.) In my control panels, I also have Nvidia Nview Desktop Manager, but when I click on it I receive an error loading message, and 'the specified module could not be found'.

I was looking at the Nvidia Control panel a couple of months ago, trying to figure out this and that, and I ran 'Tune System' and some other options. (By the way, there was a big improvement in the games I play.) I must have accidentally done something else to create the pop up window, and error messages, but I don't know what.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

(I did do a search on this topic, but while I saw other Nvidia problems I didn't see anything about these problems.)

Thank you.

I just did a google search on this and it seems to be something to do with the source code of whatever you are tryin to look at
I'm not sure what causes it and it may be something to do with flash but I'm not sure.Hopefully this will bump you up the queue and someone with more knowledge will be able to help you.

Help!

I can't access anything by left-clicking. My Add/Remove programs is unaccessable. When I try to open a program, the "Open With" window pops up. I can't run regedit or anything else from the Start button.

I've run Spybot, Smitfraudfix, AdAware. They destroyed a lot of the viruses, but now I can't access a lot of programs.

Thanks.

A:Can't run regedit; "Open with" window pops up; shortcuts don't work

Oh, also, when I try to access Microsoft Word, for example, an error message comes up: "Application not found"; yet, if I open a Word Document, it opens just fine and I can creat a new document off of it. Still...

One other thing: I get Control Panel errors "C:\WINDOWS\System32\rundll32.exe" Application not found.

Thanks.

Pretty much the title states my issue. A couple of side bar issues though. I had to disable UEFI secure boot to add an additional HD , 660 GTX and a Ceton Tuner from my old rig. I encrypted my portable HD with BitLocker and ever since Windows give me this notification chime and the drive pops up in a explorer window unless I leave it open. I am using Classic Shell. I am open for ideas at this point.

I don't understand what you're asking about. Your question is unclear.

So yesterday I downloaded a program on accident that obviously came with malware It came with multiple programs and even changed my browser's search engine etc I used Malwarebytes and Windows Defender and a window are when keep pops "refreshing" programs Icons up non-responsive and I feel like I deleted most of the malware but I feel Icons keep "refreshing" and programs are non-responsive when a window pops up there is still something on my computer because whenever I'm using a program it Icons keep "refreshing" and programs are non-responsive when a window pops up would sometimes randomly refresh meaning the screen would flicker and the icon on the bottom would flicker as well but nothing Icons keep "refreshing" and programs are non-responsive when a window pops up happens to the actual window What I mean by unresponsive when windows pop up is for example when I try to save a Microsoft word file by either press ctrl S File gt Save no window pops up but I lose control of the program like as if the save window actually popped up you can't type in the document while the save window is up If I press escape the window briefly appears then disappears and I regain control again Why is the window hidden Also whenever I run Avast or Windows Defender they become unresponsive when it gets to around of the scan I feel like something is attacking these programs to try to prevent them from cleaning out whatever is left I'm reading about rootkits and I feel like I might have one of those Thanks to whoever can help me it would be greatly appreciated and I am glad to provide anymore information you need Windows

A:Icons keep "refreshing" and programs are non-responsive when a window pops up

Hello kelvinhe, and welcome to Bleeping Computer! My name is bloopie and I'll be helping you with your issues as best I can! ========== Step You mentioned you ran MBAM and Windows Defender...could you please post the last MBAM log so we can see what it detected/removed?To retrieve the Malwarebytes Anti-Malware 2.0 scan log information (Method 1)Open Malwarebytes Anti-Malware.Click the History Tab at the top and select Application Logs.Select (check) the box next to Scan Log. Choose the most current scan.Click the View button.Click Copy to Clipboard at the bottom...come back to this thread, click Add Reply, then right-click and choose Paste.Alternatively, you can click Export and save the log as a .txt file on your Desktop or another location.Be sure to post the complete log to include the top portion which shows MBAM's database version and your operating system. To retrieve the Malwarebytes Anti-Malware 2.0 scan log information (Method 2)Open Malwarebytes Anti-Malware.Click the Scan Tab at the top.Click the View detailed log link on the right.Click Copy to Clipboard at the bottom...come back to this thread, click Add Reply, then right-click and choose Paste.Alternatively, you can click Export and save the log as a .txt file on your Desktop or another location.Be sure to post the complete log to include the top portion which shows MBAM's database version and your operating system.Logs are named by the date of scan in the following format: mbam-log-yyyy-mm-dd and automatically saved to the following locations:-- XP: C:\Documents and Settings\<Username>\Application Data\Malwarebytes\Malwarebytes Anti-Malware\Logs\mbam-log-yyyy-mm-dd-- Vista, Windows 7/8: C:\ProgramData\Malwarebytes\Malwarebytes Anti-Malware\Logs\mbam-log-yyyy-mm-dd==========Step Please download AdwCleaner by Xplode and save to your Desktop.Double click on AdwCleaner.exe to run the tool.Vista/Windows 7/8 users right-click and select Run As AdministratorThe tool will start to update the database, please wait a bit.Click on I agree button.Click on the Scan button.AdwCleaner will begin...be patient as the scan may take some time to complete. After the scan has finished, click on the Logfile button...a logfile (AdwCleaner[S#].txt) will open in Notepad for review (where the largest value of # represents the most recent report). The contents of the log file may be confusing. Unless you see a program name that you know should not be removed, don't worry about it. If you see an entry you want to keep, let me know about it.Copy and paste the contents of that logfile in your next reply.A copy of all logfiles are saved in the C:\AdwCleaner folder which was created when running the tool.====================Once we get some logs posted, that will help us better determine the next best steps to take, and we'll go from there.  If you still have trouble locating the MBAM scan logs, please post back and let me know! And if you have any questions along the way, don't hesitate to ask.bloopie

Hi everyone,Recently for no reason whatsoever a DOS prompt window popped up out of nowhere, with the following path "C:\Documents and Settings\User\Start Menu\Programs\Startup\[random link]. The last part always changes when the window pops up again. Not too sure if it's something wrong I typed or clicked or a more serious issue. Everytime I closed the window, it would pop up again with another ending link. This coincides with the dreaded MSN virus that has started bugging me and sending itself to my contacts. I have taken the action of changing my MSN password, but don't really know what else to do.Now, when I boot up, the window only pops up once. Once I close it, it goes away until I reboot the com again. Thanks in advance for your help. CheersChristopherEDIT: Moved to a more appropriate forum-MG

I've seen that happen once in awhile when I plug a drive into the same port it was in before and it gets the same drive letter. I haven't had a problem with it as I nearly always have File Explorer open anyway intending to work with it. But I don't know of any fix for it, actually just haven't come across for a fix in my 'net travels.

Hi,
Whenever I start my computer (Win XP), the system32 folder keeps opening. I've checked my msconfig, and there is no /L:Eng there. I don't have any spy/malware. According to Microsoft I need to make sure that
"both:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
Double check that the values do not have incorrect, incomplete, or blank entries."
That's great and all, but what values are supposed to be in there? I looked at mine, and it just says (value not set) for the "Default" entry. Any help that you guys could give would be great. Thanks in advance.

A:System32 Pops Up at Startup

Download and install HijackThis using the "self extractor". Run it and select "do a system scan and save the log file". Then copy/paste the contents of the log to a reply

To my knowledge this has never happened before, of if it did, it started very recently, so I looked into it, according to what I read it's "is a tray bar process for the Microsoft media center." and I can disable it from startup in msconfig

BUT, there is no tray icon for microsoft media center in my system tray, never has been. I ran msconfig and went to startup, but there's no media center process to stop from starting up, So what gives?
