I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/directdownload.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

A:New Gaming PC - Would love some advice

Those games will easily play on that system. The i5 is considered the sweet spot for gaming. You picked good parts. The only advice I would give is two fold: 1) Western Digital's Black Series is considered a better build quality with a 5 year warranty and 2) Love Corsair power supplies but I would go 650 watts myself (always rather have a bit more than needed).

Hi All,

I'm planning to build my first ever desktop since my laptop is already having problems and I think it's going to die soon...

I'm going to use the computer mainly for doing 2D digital artworks, editing videos as well as playing games, specifically MMORPGs and some like Alice Madness & Skyrim.
I'll be playing the heavier games on the console so no need to have a monster pc.
I just want something that would accommodate my main use and last me a while before I would have the need to upgrade again.

I also have a budget that I have to stick to. I live in the Philippines so it will be Php 50,000 - Php 55,000 , in USD I think it would be around $ 1000 - $ 1200.

As stated above, I won't be doing any overclocking whatsoever.

Here are the specifications of the build I was planning.

CPU: Intel® Core? i5-4690 Processor (6M Cache, up to 3.90 GHz)
Motherboard: Asus H97-PRO GAMER
VideoCard: EVGA GeForce GTX 750 Ti Superclocked
Memory: Vengeance® Low Profile ? 8GB Dual Channel DDR3 Memory Kit (CML8GX3M2A1600C9)
Storage: Samsung 120 GB 840 EVO 2.5" SATA SSD
Storage: Western Digital Caviar Black 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM
Power Supply: Seasonic X650 650W 80+ Gold
CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Seidon 120V Hybrid
Optical Drive: ASUS24D3ST BLACK 24X SATA
Case: Obsidian Series® 450D Mid-Tower PC Case
Case Fan: Scythe Kaze Jyuni PWM 120mm, 1300rpm, 74CFM (x3)

Since this is a first, opinions are greatly appreciated. I'm open for suggestions if you think there are better parts that should replace the ones listed. It would also be very nice if it would be cheaper without losing the performance and quality.

Thanks in advance!Click to expand...

What programs do you specifically use for video editing and such?

Also a couple of notes:
1: That PSU is a bit overkill for that build or most builds. I would suggest a Gold Rated 550Watt as being a cheaper better option for you.
2: Save a couple of bucks and grab a Western Digital Blue 1tb HDD or a Seagate Barracuda 1tb HDD. WD Black HDD's are awesome but generally they are a bit more for not much of a difference overall.

Can you link the site from which you are ordering your parts from?

A:I need advice for my first ever PC build

Hi. First, I am not sure you are aware of it but right now Newegg.com has a three combo special that includes your processor, motherboard, and memory that will save you $42.00. So you can rest assured what you listed with those items will work well.

1. The i5 is considered by many to be the sweet-spot for gaming. Good choice.
2. HyperX memory is made by Kingston and they manufacture excellent RAM and have for years.
3. That motherboard is a BEAST. Do you need everything/will you utilize everything that it offers?
4. I would just get a stronger cooling unit.
5. Check out Western Digital's Black series for hard drives in the 7200 rpm models.
6. Couldn't say about the psu; I usually use the Corsair line. Whatever you choose seriously consider either the Gold or Plantinum Plus certification. 650 watts of power would probably do you but research how much power that video card demands and what the manufacture recommends.

As for the case, the last four systems I have built have all been encased in the Cooler Master HAF series. I absolutely love them for air flow and build quality but make sure that you purchase a an additional side fan and top fan for greater air flow. Here is a good rule to keep in mind: Between the inflow of air or its exhaust, exhaust is the more important. I would get a 120mm size fan for the side and blow in and a 140mm side for the top as exhaust.

I want to suggest that you seriously consider getting the bigger brother of the 912. I found that the 912 is excellent for the micro-ITX boards but for me personally it seems a little cramped for the standard ATX boards -- though I have done it without issue. Look at the HAF 922 which is a mid-tower but with tons of room; I have one for my main rig. There is the full tower 932 but that is probably overkill.

Hope this helps.

Hey, im planning on upgrading either my cpu or my gpu, and I need to know what would give me a more
noticeable increase in performance in gaming.

The gpu I currently have is a gtx 760, and my cpu is an i5 - 4430 3ghz
the cpu I'd upgrade to is an i7 - 4790k 4ghz, and the gpu I'd get is a gtx 970.

So which one should I upgrade?

A:Need advice on what to upgrade

The i5 is considered the so-called sweetspot for gaming and since games are gpu intensive I would upgrade the gpu first.

A few questions for you:
1. How much RAM do you run?
2. Are you getting any lag in gaming? What is your current average FPS?
3. What do you hope to gain that would make your gaming experience noticeably increased?
, Make and wattage output of your power supply?

Hey guys,

So as the title says I'm planning to buy a new graphics card. My current one is pretty outdated (1024MB ATI Radeon HD 4600 Series).

I already have a new card in mind which fits my budget :
ASUS GTX750TI-OC-2GD5

I just wanted to make sure that my computer is gonna be able to handle it, or if anyone maybe knows a better card in the same price range ?

here are my specs :

Operating System
Windows Vista Home Premium 64-bit SP2
CPU
Intel Core i7 920 @ 2.67GHz
Bloomfield 45nm Technology
RAM
12,0GB Triple-Channel DDR3 @ 533MHz (7-7-7-19)
Motherboard
Acer FX58M (CPU 1)

My psu should be 450watts.

Anyone think this could give problems ? thanks in advance.

Hey guys im looking to retrofit my 6 year old gaming PC here soon, and by retrofit I mean totally rebuild it. here is my current build:

AMD Phenom II X6 1075T 3.00Mhz
6gb DDR3 RAM
Nvidia GTX 470

my question is this, I am really not having too many issues with frame rates yet even on the brand new games so I was wondering if upgrading to SLI on the GTX470's would be comparable to upgrading to a GTX 970? Thanks for the help guys

I would say yes. Just look at the benchmarks from Passmark. The 970 is more than twice the performance of a 470.

now I have 2 server in my home but I will sell it
and I want to buy new one
but I don't know what is the beast part I have to get it ?

I will host on it some game and its MineCraft and some other game from valve
the other game from valve is
Counter 1.6,scours,go
Garry's mod
Team Fortress 2

so what is the largest server can I have so I can host as many as I can on it ? and about the price I don't care to much on it so if you can just give me something good
I think I will host at less 20-30 servers on it

so what can you advise me ?

A:Bulid servers for Game-Server

Well I would do some researching on what people use for their servers because I don't have much knowledge personally on game servers. What I can provide though is insight on how the parts differ.

A Xeon E5 is based on a completely server-oriented architecture while the E3 is supposedly just a more high-quality binned i7.

I would read up more on server hosting requirements/what is best more in depth than I did below, but the consensus seems to be that the E3 or E5 is fine with lots of RAM. Keep in mind, the E5 can have twice as much RAM as the E3. Another thing to keep in mind is whether the game is multi-threaded or single threaded and the tick-rate of the server. If you have more players and the game is multi-threaded (Minecraft isn't for example if I am not mistaken), then go for the E5 just to be safe.

I was researching online about the CS:GO server requirements and came across this forum post and they linked to this dedicated server wiki page. Since Garry's Mod, CS:GO, and TF2 run on the same engine, the requirements should technically be the same. Minecraft isn't really too demanding either so you should be fine basing the server on Source games. Here are the requirements for a Minecraft server. It seems to me like the servers don't need much horsepower.

Here is another useful forum thread that will provide the best insight.

I am deeply sorry to post this silly question but here is my problem:
Recently I made my mc server, I port-forwarded the 25565 port and my friends joined and the server worked perfectly. Then all of a sudden, they disconnected all at once. After some investigation I realized that my external ip adress had changed. I kept giving my friends the new ip adresses every time they changed but that seemed like not the best solution. Also I checked and my ips are static. I have some screenshots containing the problems and info here.

I used PortForward Network Utilities to make the ips static and every one is static and the external ip keeps changing. Is there a way to stop the external ip from changing or no?
P.s. DHCP is not enabled on LAN.
Sry for my derpy tech language if you don't understand anything just ask

A:My friends get disconnected to my Minecraft server

Okay, that is a legit issue. Your external IP address is provided by your Internet Service Provider. It seems as if they either have it set to switch IP addresses constantly, or they're doing that just to you to prevent you using a server unless you pay more money for a static IP. My local provider refreshes my IP very rarely, but I have had it happen in the past and it did confuse me for a bit. Call up your ISP about the problem, and see if you can figure out a way to stop it. I wouldn't imagine it adding too much more to your internet bill, but I honestly don't know.

I'm curious if there is any open source proxy-server-like software out there that I can use to accelerate web surfing. Amazon's Silk browser/platform for the Kindle, and Opera Mini do this for mobile clients; I'm mostly thinking about setting this up for laptop / desktop clients, so I'm not so interested in having a server render a webpage.

My setup is this: I have a few clients (my computers), on a high-latency internet connection. I have access to a relatively private server, which has an extremely fast internet connection.

Would setting up a proxy server on the server [machine] actually help connection speeds? I imagine things like Silk and Opera Mini compress data (don't send the same thing twice), and reduce the # of HTTP requests (for images, etc.). Would something like squid actually have the same effect? It seems to be targeted at the slow-website-server scenario.

Hi,

I am playing around with Server 2012. If I want to have a laptop configured for "at office use" with option to go on site, what would be the best way to do that in order to retain access to shared locations on server that is "at office"?

Should I create a standard windows account unrelated to my domain controller, and have them VPN regardless if they are in office or on site? Or is there a way to have a laptop configured for domain use, where it will still be functional (local computer use) on site outside of the office, even without internet connection (I know you can's VPN without it).

Thanks

A:Best way to set up local and remote user with Server 2012

Well this is kind of interesting. You can in fact use a domain laptop away from the local network as long as you have logged into int once on the domain so it can cache your password for future log ins. Now comes to the more difficult part of your question's. Accessing files remotely while not online, you can set up what is called offline files. Offline files will give you acess to your files away from domain network. So if you choose to do offline files any changes made to the file while away from the domain controller where you shares are set up will have to be synced once back on the domain network. So if you make changes to lets say docA while off domain network, once you get back to domain network you will have to sync offline files to the server to update any changes you have made. This set up would not require offsite network but can bring problems when syncing once you reconnect on domain. But now lets say you have the same shares and now you have multiple individials with the same access to the shares. Say you make changes to docA and the other person makes changes to docA while offiste. Once you both reconnect and sync to server you could have issues with data such as duplicate information or doc merging. VPN would be the best option for sure....

Hi,

Wile I am in the posting mood. Just thought I would ask the question. Is it possible for me to host/and play a call of duty server from my laptop or desktop?
When I was younger I played games like the delta force collection of games. And could just go into the game, click host server. And then gradually people would join my game as they seen it on the lobby.
Is this possible with any of the call of duty games for PC? I assume it needs some network configuration
If anyone could help me do it I would be really gratefull. I have my Nat port configured to open. But I would like to host a server and have it free for anyone to join

Thanks

This mobo got me wondering, packs alot of specs :
18 SATA ports (10 are SATA3 ports from the Intel X99 Express chipset, 8 are SAS ports stemming from the LSI SAS 3008 controller) and five PCI-E 3.0 x 16slots for 4-way graphics cards! 600$ motherboard for some serious business, I think this would be ideal for a video editing workstation..

There is an Android Box, called VidOn Box, will be sold in hardware + software way, Hardware: $ 49 , Software: 1.99 / month. In the first year, I need to spend $72.88. If I still need advanced features, I need to renew my membership and choose monthly or annual renewals after one year. Considering the price, I used to buy other boxes are $ 100 or more, VidOn box is only $ 72.88, it is really cheap. Can anyone give me some advice?

I feel that the charge of service is not the point, I usually buy a new Android Box in every one or two years, the charge of hardware and software is about $100 for two years, it is reasonable price. My concern is what's they can offer with this membership service.

A:Building a Server PC

Servers don't need heavy hitting processors. The primary resources are memory, networking and file I/O

The 120GB drive is minimally acceptable, although if I were building a server, I would have at least two drives,
one for the server and the other for the data being served. Performance would be better and either drive could be
replaced/upgraded without disrupting the other - - also improves your backup media consumption.

Let's talk networking. Is this a private server for just LAN connected users or do you intend to have Internet connected players?

* hosting server of 20-30 people * in a lan based server says you will need a good switch connected to the router for wired users OR an access point for wireless

* I suspect you are intending a public server with Internet users {upgrade the system to support more players}.
You should read your ISP End-User-License-Agreement; unless you purchase a private IP address & Domain, the ISP typically forbids your hosting anything. They will cause you and your users all kinds of issues, such as limiting bandwidth and randomizing your public IP address.

Just to be clear, I want NO ARGUMENTS. This is a reasonable discussion.

The conflict between the two major GPU developers is as old as I remember, and while the obvious answer in which is better depends on how much you want to spend and various subtleties in manufacturing and releases, the two generally leapfrog each other with every release, I want to discuss what, in terms of software support, features and game coding, each has over the other.

Lets start with what almost everybody knows:

Nvidia release drivers every time there's an actual update, not the regular monthly update that AMD tend to do, and while this probably results in better updates, it can mean a long time between problems getting fixed (waiting for small fixes because a big bug takes a long time to patch).
Nvidia have also developed the V-sync for monitors, which I barely know anything about - kind of the point of this thread, a can anyone shed light on how this performs? (I'll update this top post as others provide feedback)
AMD's Mantle technology is becoming more and more widespread in new releases, especially as AMD make more deals with game developers. While my AMD GPU is too old to benefit from the Mantle updates, it is doing well in trying to convince me to get AMD as my next card as well. Again, can anyone provide feedback on how the newer AMD cards perform on the Mantle-enabled games?
Cheers guys.Click to expand...

Firstly I think both companies release drivers at pretty regular intervals at this point, every major game release at least entitles a beta driver minimum.

Your speaking about G-Sync I believe. It works very well for what it is which makes the monitor and GPU communicate together to change the refresh of the monitor live to match the output FPS in order to keep the game seeming as smooth as possible with no lag, frame tears, etc. Its an excellent piece of technology but you pay a 250+ dollar premium for a monitor with it minimum. Right now DisplayPort 1.2a added this to the VESA standard so now it can be done on monitors without the specific G-SYNC module however AMD is the only one to support this in the future when they start appearing but its still going to require some work from the monitor companies. G-Sync is awesome for high resolution and high refresh setups where stability is a bit harder to achieve.

BF4 with Mantle and surround going (Ill have my Asus UHD monitor today to try) is able to maintain easy 60 FPS ultra and thief is the same way. Those are the only two mantle games I have tried as I have not gotten around to getting one other game that supports it.

Hi you all!

I have an Asus Laptop, last generation i7, 8gb... almost nice. Code: N550LF

Problem: I have to work all day with my laptop, with graphic software and so on.
Almost 10/12 hours or more per day. In my old Dell (I had it for 5 years) I changed for this reason the battery every year.
It is extremely important for my work, even if not everyone cares about battery.

Requested solution: what can I do to preserve (as much as possible) the battery?

What others said: A friend of mine told me to always plug in the computer, because the computer doesn't charge the battery when it is full. In this way I can preserve the battery.
The Asus website doesn't give any advice about it.
The official support by mail told me to not plug the battery when it is 100% charged. This could be dangerous. So, no way to preserve it.

And in your opinion?

Thank you in advance

A:Battery advice

Batteries these days like to stay between 20% and 90% charge.
Leaving the laptop/device plugged in when it reaches 100% does no damage, as most devices have an automatic charge cut-off. So you won't over-charge your batteries.
The problem is, that you're keeping the battery between 98-100% charge all the time, when this is not a sweet spot for the battery at all. It will degrade very slightly faster.
Therefore, in order to keep maximum battery life, keep battery between 20-90% charge.

Right first things first to mix it up a bit, I've started a minecraft server on an LINUX based operating system, I've followed all the steps that have been required to start the minecraft server and so on, I've portforwarded everything (something else about it comes up later) And done everything it has said to do. I've run minecraft servers before so I do know how they work

HOWEVER, Because I still want to keep the portforwarding on my main computer so that I will be able to host other things from it, I changed the minecraft server to 25566 and since doing that no one has been able to connect to it. The only way I can connect to it is the internal address:25566 and nothing else. Other than that it does not work at all.

Yes I have put the correct IP in
Yes I am using the external IP to connect to it but it won't allow me to join with the external IP address even if I put :25566 after it.

Any suggestions?

I have a Samsung RF510 laptop; really nice and plays games nicely, but as of yesterday I've had a problem.

Whenever -anything- that runs causing the fan to start roaring and the vents to get hot, the laptop will suddenly shut down after just 10 minutes. It could be games, I could be rendering a video in sony vegas, doesn't matter.

Thing is, the corner where the vents were would always get really hot on my laptop and this has never posed a problem before; only now it is suddenly shutting down. It's never done this before yesterday, and I mean never. Even a week straight of 5 hours of Borderlands on max settings every night never caused an issue.

Would blowing compressed air into the vents help? Is there a known issue (I did LOTS of searching all day, though it only found people with similar problems who haven't fixed them)? should I try something else completely?

I would appreciate any advice! I can provide additional specs if necessary.

Hi. I am looking for a new PC/Laptop mainly for audio editing and some amateur video editing. I have read around the web and found a few things I probably want in on my computer:

Firewire or IEEE 1394 input,
An SSD hard-drive or atleast an 7200rpm hard drive
A half-decent video card for video editing
A decent sized RAM (atleast 8 gb I think)
Processor which isnt a slug probably

I was looking at a refurbished Mac Mini for £579. (http://store.apple.com/uk/product/FD388B/A)
It has some good reviews online and since Im not too experienced with computers an Apple product would probably give me less headaches. The Intel HD 4000 isnt too good though, which might be a problem for video editing. The hard drive isn't fast either, but I read, that that can be replaced.
Any comments on this? Maybe I should build my own PC or buy a laptop, could you give me some suggestions as well? My budget is about £600-700.
Thanks.

Can you help me on which combination of those mobo+graphics card gives me better performance? I be happy if u help on

A:GTX 760/ HD 7950 + mobo advice

Either combination would offer pretty much the same performance.
Of the motherboards, I'd go with an AsRock over the MSI. My personal experience with MSI boards is rather mixed to say the least. Of the two AsRock boards, they are similarly appointed, and should be similarly priced.
If you're looking at the overclocking ability, that is more down to the silicon lottery that is CPU fabrication rather than board ability. Both AsRock boards should feature the same OC headroom.

As for the graphics cards, assuming price isn't the main consideration and cryptocurrency minng hasn't sent AMD cards higher than they should be, both the GTX 760 and HD 7950 are well matched and capable cards. How they fare will depend upon which games you plan playing.

If it comes down to a reference HD 7950 and a vendor overclocked GTX 760, I'd go with the latter, and the MSI Gaming version over the Asus DC2. The MSI card will be quieter and likely have more overclock headroom.

We have a problem with the connection to our server. The server disconnects randomly from minutes to hours all day. I am at a remote location and connect via logmein to a local pc at the servers physical location to remotely control and connect to the server. A month or so ago the connection would drop every few minutes. The staff at that location replaced the switch and had the ISP tech check out the router. No problems were found. I think it is a problem with the server itself but don't know what it could be. Typically I can go through the login process and reconnect. I'm sorry I can't be more specific about the equipment since it is 40 miles away. Any suggestions on troubleshooting? Remotely?
Clearly I'm not a network guy.

Hello. I am a complete newbie to server administration. At my current job, I have been tasked with setting up a deployment server. The server is a Windows 2008 server and is not connected to the Internet. The server is a domain controller on its own domain (different from the main domain my job uses). How would I connect this server to the Internet without disrupting other users on the network? By disrupting, I mean connecting to my server instead of the main server for DNS and DHCP. The server has Active Directory Domain Services, DNS, DHCP, and WDS roles set-up.

I built a gaming PC about 2 years ago, and while it still plays the games I play just fine, I'm itching to either build a completely new system, or upgrade some of the parts that are lacking. I am on a bit of a budget and would like to only have to buy one or two parts a month if I build a whole new rig. If anyone could take a look at my current setup and tell me which parts definitely need replacing, or if I should build something better that would be awesome. The details are in my profile. If the suggestion is to start from scratch, what is the best order to buy the parts in to make it a little more future proof? It would probably take me about 4-6 months to be able to buy everything depending on prices. Thanks in advance!

A:Advice on building/upgrading a Gaming PC

Here is a few options:

Upgrading the CPU to a FX-8350 would double the processing power.
Upgrading the GPU to a GTX-760 would more than double the graphical power.
If you don't have a power supply greater than 500W's, I'd recommend getting one before upgrading to GTX-760. If you prefer a different card, you can look up the recommended power ratings from AMD or nVidia, for the selected card.

My recommendation is to use MSI afterburner for your temperature controlling needs and overclocking. It is non-biased and will work with any video card no matter the type, whether its amd of nvidia, and who made it.

If you have $850, I would look for something that has an A10 processor in it. Try something like this:

http://www.amazon.com/Toshiba-Satel...UTF8&qid=1388511238&sr=8-2&keywords=A10+5750m

I dont know what shopping sites are available in your location, but something like this should give you at least a place to start on what to look for.

Afternoon Ladies & Gents!

I've spent a few hours on researching this topic. I can't seem to find what I'd need.

Currently I'm looking for a solution. I have about 50 franchised offices. We've played a TV in each of them. Is it possible to put a device in each office and have a "Server" type device to push content over a VPN to them? Also naturally display this on the TVs.

Any comments or points in a direction would be much, much, appreciated.

Thank you!

Hello,

Where I work we need a need new server. I am not really a expert in hardware so I hope you can give me a little help choosing a fitting server, I will use a template with answers to help you understand what's needed:

1) What is the available budget?
Up to 2500? (3380 USD, 2094 GBP).

2) Which tasks will the server execute?
GPS analyses which is pure heavy computing. The amount of reading and writing to the disc is moderate. Internet traffic is low.

3) There is any preferred brand or there is any that is out of question?
Any reasonable brand.

5) Does the size of the server matters?
Should be a standard rack.

6) There are any specific requirements (interfaces, storage etc)?
- 8 cores (1x8 [preferable] or 2x4)
- 16 G byte memory
- 4 Tera byte disc
- fast CPU

I hope somebody can help me with some suggestions.

Downgrade the motherboard to a MSI 970A-G43. That will save you around 1600 Rs. Downgrade the motherboard to a Corsair CX600. That will save you 3400 Rs. Cut back the case to a CM N300 (saves you 1500 Rs). Also, dont waste your money on the Logitech G105 keyboard. It is a pretty bad keyboard IMO. Get the simple Logitech K120 instead (saves you 2400 Rs.). Finally, get a Western Digital Blue HDD instead of the Seagate (saves you 1500 Rs.). Great build as a whole.

A:Memory advice for Asus Sabertooth X79 & I-7 3930

First, you should know that X79 is the first (and only) consumer platform with a quad channel memory controller. That means for maximum memory performance you must use at least 4 DIMMs, populating channels A, B, C, and D.
The Sabertooth X79 originally supported up to only 1866 MHz, but I see the QVL lists kits up to 2400. http://support.asus.com/QVL.aspx?SLanguage=en&p=1&m=SABERTOOTH X79&hashedid=RPOIwd0pKLoXnbFV
If you buy a kit on this list, it has already been tested to work with your board, at least at stock CPU speeds. If you overclock your CPU (and you should with that unlocked processor), some of the higher speed RAM may not boot. I believe you'll be safe buying a 2133 kit, even one that's not on the QVL. I'm running Kingston HyperX Beast 2400 in my Asus P8Z77-V & i5-3570K system with great results, and it's not on my QVL. If you do go for the 2400, you should pick one of the 4x4GB kits from your QVL for assured compatibility. If all those are hard to find (or too expensive), roll the dice and get the kit you want, but make sure it's a name brand like Corsair, Adata, G.Skill, Patriot, Kingston HyperX, Crucial, etc., as they have reputations to preserve and do lots of testing on all platforms.
Also, check out this recent thread about whether or not fast RAM is worth the money - http://www.techpowerup.com/forums/showthread.php?t=191311

I am having a very hard time finding a router that satisfies my needs It seems that manufacturers are able to provide one or two of the following but not all Perhaps I am looking in the wrong place I appreciate any help you can offer My highest priorities for the router are as follows Must be able to handle my VoIP phone system networked security cameras and about - computers and other devices mostly Router advice wireless Parental controls that are comprehensive and user friendly I have a teenager who has become very curious about pornography and has asked that I block it better I am a lucky parent Most routers seem to allow you to block certain websites but do not give you lots of options for content type time of day exceptions for certain devices etc User friendly interface with access from my phone etc I am not very tech savvy so I need everything made very clear for me in the interface Also as I will need to be able to make changes while away from home I need to have that available via cell phone Detailed log Router advice of all activity specifying each device used Reliable I appreciate any help or advice you can offer nbsp

A:Router advice

I'll comment on your requirements in context - -

prouddad said:

My highest priorities for the router are as follows:

1. Must be able to handle my VoIP phone system, networked security cameras and about 10-12 computers and other devices (mostly wireless).Click to expand...

The number of devices is not a critical factor - - the addition of VoIP is

2. Parental controls ... Most routers seem to allow you to block certain websites but do not give you lots of options for content type, time of day, exceptions for certain devices, etc.Click to expand...

Netgear can block by KEYWORD and a few well chosen porn words will block many sites - - be sure to add lower case xxx to the list

3. User friendly interface with access from my phone, etc. I am not very tech savvy so I need everything made very clear for me in the interface. Also, as I will need to be able to make changes while away from home, I need to have that available via cell phone.Click to expand...

hmm - - this is considered to be Remote Access and is VERY dangerous. If you just can't live without it, then change the port number (the default is 8080) and create a very strong password for logging onto the router.

4. Detailed log of all activity specifying each device used.Click to expand...

Netgear at least provides a means to EMAIL the router log.

5. Reliable.Click to expand...

My wired Netgear is several years old by now and the newly added wifi is also a Netgear.

Btw: you can always wire up a sequence like
modem==Router#1 ---- (wifi Router#2)where Router#1 handles the VoIP, logging and Remote Management.

A strange problem indeed.

Triple check your wiring is correct using your motherboard manual. Be sure the motherboard is mounted correctly on the standoffs and no grounds are occurring.

Faulty buttons on the case itself?

Reset bios to optimal defaults, clear cmos.

After that I would return the mobo.

Sorry I cant be more specific, Hope this helps.

Doesn't look like a bad setup but you still need RAM and I would suggest a DVD or Bluray drive. Also, do you have an operating system, monitor(s), mouse and keyboard already, or will you need those also? You could save money by shopping around (if you have that option - example NewEgg / Tigerdirect / etc). You could also save some money by looking at alternative items.

Hi all,

I'm quite stuck on getting a PC case which will help with cooling. I'm looking for the best case at cooling in the £70 range. The case has to be big enough for graphic card upgrades (I currently have 5850 XFX Black Editions in crossfire). Examples of cases I've looked at are the Carbide 300R, HAF 912 Plus and Fractal Design R4. Please can anyone advise of the best case (in this class?) in the UK. I'm happy to add additional case fans to get better cooling!
MB is ATX, BTW.

A:PC Case advice for better cooling (budget @£60-£80)

Well since im going to assume air cooling I have a couple of options that I personally like for those types of systems:

NZXT Phantom Mid Tower

Corsair 400R or the 300R are both great options

There are many more but those are a few near your price point I recommend. I like the NZXT Phantom cases the most because of their room, expandability, and overall sleek look.

My computer battery was replaced by a family member and when I boot up my PC which took about 10 minutes instead of 30 seconds. I noticed that the 2 harddrives were displayed in the bios as raid drives. The 2 harddrives are SATA. However in Windows when I right click on My Computer and select Manage then Device Manager they appear as NTFS format.

I sure that this configuration has something to do with response.

I would appreciate any suggestions on how to restore my raid drive back to 2 harddrives under NTFS without loosing my data. I would prefer a software tool or a step by step solution since I am not comfortable with manually making changes to computer settings.
Thank you for your advice in advance to this frustrating problem

A:Need advice for soldering Dell Inspiron 1501 motherboard

Can you post an photo of your soldering?I'm not sure if I can help, but an image might help us understand what you are looking at.

I solder quite often, and have done repair work such as you are attempting. I do know it is easiest to when there is only one solder joint to contend with. One joint such as a wire you can pull the wire as you heat and once hot enough the wire will pull free. Several solder joints are a different ballgame. There are two choices, and one choice I've never had the equipment to do so. Heating every join at the same time, can be done by blowing hot air across the component. I've never had the equipment for it, so I've been left with the choice of cleaning each joint one at a time. I noticed this is how you were attempting solder removal.

Solder tips must be clean and prepped for use. A trashy tip can cause an insulated barrier and prevent heating of the solder joint. Always tin your tips with a tad of solder before you ever use it the first time. If you don't tin your tip, you will always have trouble using it.
Pre-heat the tip so you are not waiting and possibly causing damage to the solder joint and/or component. Spending too much time on a solder joint is never a good idea. You want to heat the joint as quickly as possible without heating everything else.
On removal with the wick, the wick needs to be just as clean as the solder tip or it will not absorb any of the solder. A little bit of soldering flux may help the wick absorb. But if the wick has already been used, it is doubtful it will work again.
Soldering flux is always helpful when soldering joints back in place anyway. Especially on surfaces that have not been soldered previously. It doesn't take much, a finger smear is plenty sufficient. however on multi-strand wire you will want enough flux to absorb into the strands of the wire.
Don't bubble your joint, all you need is a slim joint connection. More solder will do nothing for the joint. Watch for solder beads, that can unexpectedly drop off your tip cause shorts.
One last piece of advice, soldering is no different than welding metal. Solder will not stick unless both surfaces are heated. If you only heat one side of the joint, solder will not stick to the other side. It's usually a better to try and heat the larger surface first as the smaller heats up more quickly. It's the timing of both surfaces that you want heated at the same time.

Hello,
I'm not 100% sure if I'm posting this in the correct forum spot but I'll give it a go here anyway. I'm looking into buying a good gaming PC that can run League of Legends, Steam games, and stuff like that. The main game I play is League of Legends and I at least would like it to run at max for that game. If anyone could help me that would be great.

What is your budget? Also, what resolution will you be gaming at?

Just joined this forum - seems to have some pretty good answers! I'm looking for advice on a project I'm working on. I'm involved with the Odyssey of the Mind creative problem solving program here in Delaware. The program has grown so much over the last decade we now need to run two tournaments on the same day and can no longer rely on volunteers to supply laptops and printers for our competition sites. I'm starting to look at buying about 14 laptops and printers for our use. However, they will only be needed for about two months a year (February & March). Can anyone offer advice on whether its best to buy inkjet or laser printers? I'm concerned about storing the equipment in an unheated/cooled mini-storage facility through the worst of the winter as well as the summer.

A:Need advice on printers

2 months out of a year. Hmmm! I wonder if you could reach an agreement with a rental company. It could cut storage cost and present you with new equipment each year.

I'm not an expert on printing equipment but I would lean toward Laser Printers. I've had several issues with Inkjet. Inkjet printouts will smear, if they get even the slightest bit wet. Over unused time, Inkjet printing head will dry and cause issues. This is probably my mileage only but, I've had more paper jams with Inkjet than I have with Laser.

I've only had dealings with two Laser printers.

The first is an HP LaserJet 6P, which is a black and white laser printer. I've never had an issue with this printer. No matter how long between printing, it is always ready to go. If the pages start to fade, the cartridge can be shaken a few times before they need replacing.
The second is a Brother MFC-9460CDN Printer, which is a color laser printer. I've only one complaint with this printer, the cartridges have a timer on them. After a set number of prints, the machine will stop printing until the timed out cartridge is replaced. I will do my home work the next time I decide to buy and will do my best to avoid this manufactured feature (aka: I'm gonna call it a defect).
Either way you should probably plan on starting each new year with new cartridges (ink or laser) and paper. Old paper can be one of the leading causes to paper jam, especially if curled and doesn't want to feed straight.

Good luck with your endeavors!

So I am looking at buying a new and Laptop Buying advice new could a use some I laptop and instantly I went to Newegg I have been looking around and narrowed it down to MSI gaming laptops Laptop Laptop I asked my cousin his opinion since he does a lot with computers and he essentially told me The specs on both are horrible since the only difference is the color and RAM The processors on both will be slower then his current computer which is a standard DELL with a nd or rd gen i Both are much slower then most other computers They are just terrible gaming laptops in general So he pretty much said they are both terrible Since this is Buying a new Laptop and I could use some advice my first time buying a computer on my own and it is a lot of money to spend I am looking for a little guidance Both of the above look pretty good to me speed and performance wise Buying a new Laptop and I could use some advice I play a lot of games on Steam League of Legends Diablo and some other pretty demanding games I am also looking to do some school work on Microsoft Office and such to do research and write papers and things I am a college student At some point in the future I may have to install some D CAD software since I am studying to be an engineer I also do general computer things and possibly record some game play footage I hope to use whatever computer I get for or years assuming I take care of it properly If both of these options are bad which I am fairly confident that they are not can anyone point me in the right direction My budget is anywhere close to the price of the two above - Any help is appreciated Thanks nbsp

A:Buying a new Laptop and I could use some advice

Both laptops are great, I really do not know what your cousin was thinking. Both laptops have the highest end components you can get. They are are overkill though. This is why:
1) You want to avoid RAID 0.
2) 32GB RAM is too much.
3) A 4GB GPU for 1080P is overkill, but doesnt hurt.

Pros:
1) The 780M is great.
2) 4th gen CPU
3) A lot of RAM.

I would recommend Sager laptops. They offer great value. I would look into this:
1) http://www.sagernotebook.com/index.php?page=category_browse&selected_cat=special&mid=NP9390
- I would chose this because it has dual 8970Ms. This will kill battery life (not like it had any in the first place), but it will play any game @ ultra. Lower the amount of RAM to 16GB since 24-32GB is overkill. Make sure you select the Intel Intel 240GB 525 series SSD instead of the Crucial M4. Make sure you chose the prefered OS (Win 7 vs Win 8).

That is the best option because it comes with 2 GPUs. It is by far the best value.

Alright, Just bought an Hp slimline 5212y off craigslist for 50$. Great condition. Main use of this computer will be for minecraft and internet usage, so nothing super extravagent is needed. Wanting to upgrade graphics due to only being able to pull 10-20 FPS, but kinda on a budget. From what Ive researched, gonna need a low profile. Would have to upgrade my PSU as well and Im not 100% sure what route to go. Any cheap suggestions? Any help is appreciated.

Low profile cases are never designed to be upgrade capable. Sure you can get a low profile graphics card, but as you have already discovered the power supply will likely be your biggest problem. Most low profile PC's have proprietary PSU's, making it impossible to upgrade the PSU. With only 220W's, I can not recommend upgrading graphics.

The good news is your motherboard appears to be MicroATX, which is not proprietary and will fit another case if you wish to pursue upgrading. In all honesty though, I'd say be happy with what you have. And when you decide to upgrade, look at a building/buying a new rig.

You have pretty much the best CPU your motherboard can support. If you really want, yeah, you could get a new CPU + mobo combo.

But, why do you want to? How much money do you have to spend?

Hi folks, I love to do video editing using adobe premiere, but as videos are recorded more often in HD even from my smartphone feels like there is not enough power anymore.

My system is Biostar Hi-Fi A85W motherboard with AMD A8-6500 and 4 GB DDR3. Now I am wondering if a memory upgrade to 8 GB would really make sense in that case? Or could it be a too slow CPU and I have to replace my current board?

I will be glad to hear your advice!

A:Advice for Memory Upgrade?

That is a newly released CPU, so it is not slow. Plus, it is a quad core. If you just do basic computing tasks, the 8GB will allow you to multitask more. Check out this site for what RAM to buy: http://goo.gl/95Yh

Everything is compatible.

Nice case and CPU cooler, however the CPU cooler would not really be needed if you don't over-clock. The Boxed CPU comes with an OEM CPU cooler that is fine with non-over-clock conditions.
Are you planning on over-clocking? If so the motherboard and CPU are not really designed for over-clocking.

A:Build Advice

Heres my advice,

Mobo: Good choice, im personally more of an asus fan, but ive heard that Asrock are good as well. Looks like a nice board

Processor: Good choice, but if your interested, the new Haswell series is out which do show a nice performance up from the 3570k. Try checking into a 4670k and a LGA 1150 chipset board.

Ram: I like Kingston, nothing wrong with that set

Video Card: Go for a GTX 770 over it, comparing the cheapest options from both sides (670 to 770) it seem to be only about a 40-20 dollar difference. The 770 is a nice step up.

PSU: Corsairs are reliable, and that will be plenty so long as you don't plan on doing SLI.

As for a case, depends on your size you want, I personally like corsair cases as they seem to always know how to fit everything in a good spot with plenty of space. Try something like the 200R

Hey everyone I have a issue with my pc when I turn it on it turns its self off after 6 seconds then turns itself back on and stays on but no signal to monitor, I have trie re seating the ram and graphics card and have checked all connections. I bileave its either my power unit or mother board and I am wanting to change my Mother board.

So here is my question This is my current motherboard http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=2631#ov

Would this motherboard be a replacement http://www.ebuyer.com/231358-gigaby...-channel-audio-matx-motherboard-ga-g41m-combo
... im not really sure what im looking for tbh

Thanks

A:Motherboard Advice

Short answer;
Yes but since its not an identical motherboard, it is highly possible Windows license may be deactivated.

Both motherboards support DDR2 and DDR3 memory modules. It has been my experience that motherboards will only support one memory type at a time. DDR3 is the most recent and cheapest memory available.

Is there a reason why you have chosen a motherboard that supports both memory types?

Hello. Im looking to upgrade my current system that is really out of date for gaming.
Mobo Asus p5g41t-m lx
CPU Intel dual core e5700 @ 3ghz
4gb ram (2x2 gb) ddr3 1333Mhz
Ati HD 5450 1GB
some generic 450W PSU ( I am upgrading this first asap)

I want something that can play in high/ultra settings games like Bf3, Crysis, AC sagas, Metro 2033/Last Light, Total war sagas, Tomb Raider, among others
I will be using a max resolution of 1360x768 for those games, and I have a $220 budget for video card + PSU.

I am highly considering a Radeon 7850 1GB version + a proper power supply but I need more suggestions. Also how much bottleneck will I get if I put that card with my current dual core?

Thanks!

A:Need advice for upgrade

The dual core will bottleneck the GPU. The 7850 1GB is a good choice, but in order to play the games at ultra settings, you will need a better CPU (quad core). I think the 1GB of VRAM may struggle at ultra settings. Also, If you ever upgrade to a 1080P monitor, the 1GB of VRAM will struggle.

I'm a noob when it comes to computer hardware and I'd like to know which cpu if any will be the best upgrade for my motherboard. Or if I just need to get a new motherboard instead. Any help is appreciated.

These are my system specs.
MSI X58A GD65
Intel i7 CPU 930 @ 2.80GHz (8 CPUs), ~2.8GHz
16384MB RAM, Just upgraded 4GBx4
2x GeForce GTX 465 sli
Corsair HX1000W
I have around a 300-400$ budget

A:Need advice on upgrades

That CPU is still pretty modern. If you really want to upgrade, I would recommend going for a Haswell platform which will be released in June. $150 for a Z87 motherboard + $330 for an i7 4770K. You will need a larger budget if you want an i7. A i5 4670K will be enough if you are only gaming. You will also need to upgrade your RAM and GPUs.

In my opinion, the CPU isnt really the bottleneck at the moment. I think you are better off just buying a GTX 660Ti or GTX 670 or wait till the nVidia 700 series is released in June (if they arent impressive, then you can get the 660Ti cheaper than you would now). The real time you will need to upgrade your CPU, is probably in a year or two; for now, it will do you fine.

1) Everything is fine, except go for this watercooler instead: :http://www.amazon.co.uk/Corsair-H10...1_1?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1363737630&sr=1-1
2) The motherboard is not necessary unless you are gonna watercool the motherboard. Get this instead (this is for if you care a lot about looks, otherwise save a few bucks and get a ASUS P8Z77V): http://www.amazon.co.uk/Asus-SABERT...1_3?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1363737769&sr=1-3
3)Get this HDD instead: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Caviar-Blac...1_1?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1363737859&sr=1-1
4) As for the SSD, since you game, you would want games on there also (so they load faster), not just your OS, so I would recommend this: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Samsung-Ser...1_1?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1363737915&sr=1-1

May I ask, what clocks will you be bringing your CPU to, because a Noctua CPU air cooler may be a better choice since closed loop water cooling has risks. But if you are taking your CPU beyond 4.5 GHz, I would recommend the H100i. Also what sound system are you running? Sound cards do you no good if you dont have a >$100 sound system. Also socket 1155 is newer. 2011 is getting dated and the new version is rumored to be coming in Q4 13'.

Hi everyone My current specs are as folllows Intel i K Stock ASUS GTX DCII Stock GSkill Ripjaws x GB Currently gaming on a Samsung SyncMaster B quot monitor The resolution is only x Hz I was thinking that I should pick up a new monitor to justify the rig that I ve built I have been looking at quot monitors that have a resolution of x Now here s the dilemma I see a lot of Hz monitors and people saying that they are much better suited to gaming especially FPS which is what I for -- Monitor worth advice gaming? 120Hz it usually enjoy Upon researching a bit I Monitor advice -- 120Hz worth it for gaming? came upon the BenQ XL T It s quite expensive but I might just be able to pick it up if it s completely worth it So here are my questions Has anyone had any experience with the BenQ XL T and what are your views Is Hz worth it and will there be any noticeable difference Will my single GTX be able to handle it Just for perspective I run Crysis a little over FPS average with all settings Very High FXAA and Transparency AA enabled in nVidia Control Panel I m also open to OCing my GPU and CPU using a Corsair H Any other suggestions Look forward to your responses nbsp

A:Monitor advice -- 120Hz worth it for gaming?

The 670 will be able to give you those 120 fps in less demanding games, however you may end up turning the quality and resolution down for the more demanding titles (such as Crysis 3). So you have a choice, sacrifice image quality for more fluid game-play, or get an IPS monitor, which will give you much superior color, but you'll have to live with 60 fps. (In my opinion, 60fps is enough, although that's a matter of opinion)

A:Computer build advice for a programmer

Yes, majority of those parts are bit overkill. Even the Cosmos II seems a bit overkill. Especially, if you don't plan to go with water cooling. If I were you, Id make these changes.

MOBO: Asus Sabertooth Z77
CPU: Intel Core i7-3770K
PSU: Corsair TX650
GPU: GTX 660TI

I would ditch the sound card altogether.

Hi Looking for a bit of advice My year old Dell is having some major issues and it s not worth trying to fix it I ve been looking around online for a replacement and want to please New advice laptop get some clever person s opinion on these http www saveonlaptops co uk Toshiba Satellite Pro C html http www saveonlaptops co uk ASUS K A-SX H html http www saveonlaptops co uk ASUS K New laptop advice please VD-SX H html DetailTop I ll only really be using it for lots of Office stuff often with programs going at once streaming and the internet no gaming I d like to future proof myself as much as possible but I m completely clueless about specs Is the GB RAM option worth the extra or is it a bit OTT for what I actually need I know my current Dell dinosaur was a pretty decent spec when I got it and is really only showing signs of old age lately so I m willing to spend the bit extra if it might mean that the computer lasts a bit longer I also appreciate that there are no guarantees in life unfortunately Any words of wisdom would be greatly appreciated I m completely bamboozled by all the options nbsp

A:New laptop advice please

I'd spend a bit more and get an i7 quad-core. These laptops have only dual-core and you will notice this. 8GB RAM is a good choice.

We had:

1) 1 Windows Server 2003 running Active Directory services to manage logon and permissions for file sharing.
2) 15 workstations.

We now want to have:

1) 1 Windows Server 2008 R2 server running Active Directory services to manage logon and permissions for file sharing.
2) 15 same workstations, with their same user profiles.

So I joined the 2008 R2 server to the domain, and then used the dcpromo tool to make it a domain controller.

Problem is, whenever I take the old server offline, (the 2003 one) everything flips out, logons are slow, and the 2008 server gives people trying to access shared files weird errors like that the server that authenticated them cannot be contacted, and asks them to log in again with their username and password before accessing shared files on the server.

What did I do wrong? I must be forgetting something.

A:Replacing a Windows 2003 AD DS server with a 2008 R2 AD DS server

1. Transfer all FSMO roles to your 2008 R2 server
2. Uninstall AD on 2003 server
3. You can now permanently take 2003 server offline

A:Seeking advice on P/S for big upgrade

I would considering picking up any of the follow:

Corsair TX650 ($89.99)
Corsair TX750 ($109.99)
Antec Neo Eco 620 (69.99)

All will provide you with solid performance. I would also recommend an 850W variation of either the TX or HX Corsair PSU's. That will give you a bit of room for future upgrades.

A friend of mine has asked me build her a desktop PC -- with a new Windows OS -- for US or less Can you guys give please? build, Advice on $1,000 me some advice and suggestions as to the parts for a suitable Intel build given her budget My friend is a freelance writer and journalist She will be using the machine for research and MS Office documents She is neither a gamer nor a PC Advice on $1,000 build, please? enthusiast Simply put she needs a desktop PC Advice on $1,000 build, please? that is reasonably fast and won t BSOD on her while she s surfing the net or working on a story with MS Word Her C D desktop -- which had been a much-abused yet uncomplaining workhorse for longer than I can remember -- finally gave out a few days ago It seems only her monitor mouse and keyboard are still working reliably I have not seen her old machine as of late and have no idea what other parts I can salvage from it Given her budget though I m guessing I have room to assume that everything else from her old machine is toast and that we will have to buy all brand new parts I m thinking I should even assume that she ll need a new chassis I m not too familiar with AMD yet and would prefer to build something within my comfort zone -- so it s going to be an Intel desktop My friend insists on a Windows OS as she is unfamiliar with W I ll be staying over at her apartment this weekend to work on the project First time building a PC for anyone -- on my own that is I have to admit I m kinda excited about this first adventure As always your advice will be greatly appreciated nbsp

A:Advice on $1,000 build, please?

To go some online stores, find their pre-built systems. Get some from $800 to $1200 and modify the parts to suit.

This way you have a number of 'quotes'. If you can't decide on parts, post back.

Also, some stores have free assembly when you purchase a whole system. Do this if you feel like it.

Importantly though, have a look at her old monitor. Check to see if it's got HDMI, VGA, DVI, as you may need some adaptors. I wouldn't recommend running off VGA if she's a writer.

So computer A(brother) has hosted a minecraft server. Computer B(Me) can connect to it from the outside world. Computer C(Friend) can not connect to it, Also outside world. Computer B is 45 min away where computer C is a 45 sec walk down the rode, same ISP. Any help? We all would greatly appreciate it. Also so same thing is happening with a Teamspeak server, Computer A host, B able to connect, C still nothing.

Note: computer C can get on other Minecraft servers and other Teamspeak servers.
Thanks alot

A:One computer can connect to Minecraft server, another can't

If computer C can connect to other severs then most likely the problem lies in computer A. Check firewall rules, try disabling computer A's firewall.

A:Data recovery from drive with lost format, software recommendations please

Oh crap. Something like this happened recently to me when I had backed up some data to an USB thumb drive. It worked fine for awhile, then some weeks later, my PC just couldn't read it anymore (kept saying "disk in drive needs to be reformatted/etc"...and the properties for the drive also showed it as RAW format instead of FAT32 like it would have been usually).

I think the issue is drive corruption, which seems to be fairly common with external devices like USB drives, but odd in the case of an internal drive. The remedy for me was to try to access it from a different system, which was easy since being a USB stick I could try it elsewhere easily. If you can use another system to access the drive, preferably a Linux/Ubuntu based one; it is likely your best bet to recoup the data before its lost permanently. An external HDD kit would be ideal, and they are quite cheap also.

Hope this helps!

A:Gaming PC build advice

A couple things:

Firstly, you have a MOBO & CPU incompatibility. Your MOBO is for socket 2011 CPU's while your processor is LGA 1155
Here is a compatible motherboard for your build.
Asus Sabertooth Z77 LGA 1155 ($239.)

Secondly, I wouldn't waste my money on the: Network card, extra case fans,HDD fan,PSU gasket, and fan mounts. I would put all that money in your CASE budget and look for a more solid case. All those fans would do the exact opposite of what you'd like to achieve. You want a quiet machine, you do not put 9+ fans inside of it.

Thirdly, Id recommend buying something like the Corsair H100i for your cooling needs. I did notice you said you're not "Savy" enough for liquid cooling. However, these closed loop solutions require no real experience to install. Furthermore, they require zero maintenance.

Also, I wouldn't grab the 4GB 670. You will not need all of that VRAM. Instead, go with the 2GB version it's much cheaper.

Your power supply is also overkill. Unless you plan on running 3 GPU's 1000 watts is not necessary. I would go with aCorsair HX Series 850W. This will give you some room for future upgrades.
Even then, If you want. Id grab the 650 or 750w variation of that PSU. It will save you some money.

EDIT: Added GPU recommendation & PSU recommendation
