Outlook 2003 stopped sending email

Q: Outlook 2003 stopped sending email

I am travelling internationally over the next 3 months. When I connect through the internet using hotel services, I can receive email, but can not send. I have an msn.com email address, using Outlook 2003 on Windows XP, Service Pack 2. Currently, I am connected to a D-Link Wireless ADSL2+ Router, and I think it may be blocking the Outgoing Server (SMPT) port 25. I have taken the action to change the port to 587. I have gotten email to send with this setting, but email can still hang up in the outbox...no pattern yet on when it hangs up and when it doesn't. Any suggestions on my actions so far or actions I should take? Thanks.

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/directdownload.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Just like the title says, when I send email it exits the outbox as if it were being processed properly, it disapppears, but it never makes it to the "sent items". As such, I have no record of the email, and I cannot tell if it made it to the recipient. I did a couple test emails to other accounts I have and the email arrived, but I do not know if this happens in every case. Does anyone know why this would happen? The "save email I send in sent items folder" option is still checked, and I have unchecked and checked it again to see if that helps, but it does not. Any suggestions? It just started happening out of the blue. No new software installations, etc.

A:When Sending in Outlook 2003 Email Disappears

Tools-->Options, Email options. Make sure "Save copies of messages in Sent Items folder is checked". Also, if you have messages in other folders BESIDES your inbox, maybe the sent message is there instead, which will happen if you have (under Advanced Email options) the "In folders other than inbox..." checked.

I use Outlook and from time to time send myself emails to follow OUTLOOK 2003 delayed email sending not up on at a later date Sometimes days or months using the delayed feature under options Recently I have noticed that some of OUTLOOK 2003 not sending delayed email my emails are not sending when I planned for them to Today I realized that a possible problem is that if while in my Outbox I re-read a delayed email even if I hit the send button afterward or even simply highlight to view in the preview pane the status icon changes from one of being quot sent quot the envelope has the motion lines to one OUTLOOK 2003 not sending delayed email that looks like an open envelope with a letter in front of it I did a test email and sure enough that seems to distinguish whether it will send on delay or not And no matter if I re send the email it will remain in this limbo status Anyway long story short how do I fix this and get the email sending Thank you nbsp

Any ideas? He's using Windows XP Pro and Office 2003 SP2.

Silly question, but you have tried to send mail to someone else or to yourself?

Don't bother with the "Test" function in Outlook - it often fails for no particular reason.

Hi,

I run outlook 2003 on a win xp sp2 system. I have recently been unable to send emails from outlook. I appear to be properly set up with pop3 to my yahoo mail account.

When I try and send or forward an email from outlook, it appears to leave the outbox and appears in the sent items folder. However it doesn't appear in my yahoo mail box either in the inbox of sent to my yahoo account or the sent items if sent to another account.

Does anyone know what is going on and how to fix it please?

A:Outlook 2003 - problem sending email

First, you need all the Outlook 2003 updates downloaded and installed. There are at least three of them. Use the Office Updates header.
Then you need to look at the help site at Yahoo regarding outlook 2003 installs.

We use Outlook 2003 on an exchange server. We operate a few different companies have multiple email addresses that come into our inbox. Is there a way to choose which email address we can send email from? We have a "main" email address which is our default but we would like to be able to send an email from another address on occasion from the same inbox - is that possible? If so how do we set it up?
your help is appreciated!

A:Outlook 2003 - ability to sending from multiple email addresses

Anytime you send e-mail from Outlook, you can select which one of your linked accounts from which to send the message. by clicking on the "Accounts" button in the Message window. However, the account must first be linked to Outlook for each/any user who will need to send mail from this account. I'm not on an Exchange Server, so I can't say for sure, but I don't think you can link more than one Exchange account to each user (so, since you undoubtedly have your own Exchange e-mail account, you wouldn't be able to add another).

The appropriate workaround kind of depends on how your mail is hosted and how adept your Exchange Administrator is. If your mail comes through an outside webmail account anyway, then take Exchange out of the equation and just add a new account to your Outlook, using the webmail credentials to log directly into your webmail server. If all the mail HAS to go in and out through the Exchange server, then you could create a separate Windows account for each of the e-mail addresses and just log into the appropriate account when you need to send through that account.

I think there may also be some options in Exchange (at the server level) that might allow you to manually assign addresses, based on rules, but it's been a long time since I did any Exchange admin, and I never did all that much to begin with. Hopefully, somebody will jump in here with more definitive answers.

I have had some success in further troubleshooting of Outlook The culprit with Outlook running very slow and swamping the system at CPU usage is with one of the three email accounts I Account CPU - Stopped Usage POP3 Outlook - Email 2003 Climbs Working had set up with it Outlook 2003 - POP3 Email Account Stopped Working - CPU Usage Climbs I deleted the email account entirely and now Outlook runs smooth as a whistle with very low CPU usage But does anybody know why all of a sudden that email account started messing up Outlook I tried adding it back as a new email account but it keeps telling me the following error when I TEST THE SETTINGS Log onto incoming mail server POP Outlook could not connect to the incoming mail server POP The problem could be your SSL or port settings for the incoming server Verify your port and SSL settings under More Settings on the Advanced Tab I have done this and called the folks who handle that email server to verify I have the correct settings but still get the above error Also when I attempt to re-add the email account CPU usage climbs to above - and Outlook no longer runs as smoothly nbsp

A:Outlook 2003 - POP3 Email Account Stopped Working - CPU Usage Climbs

First, outlook is a good tool, but a poor choice for email. Consider using other software
such as Thunderbird.

All the data in Outlook (Calendar, Contacts, Tasks, and Email) is held in the single .PST file for each user;
the bigger it gets, the more time and cpu it takes to get into it.

As for the errors, it would appear that the settings are wrong.
The pop3 stuff is for reading your email from the ISP and the smtp is for sending;
each can be correct / incorrect.
You need the pop3 domain name (something like mail.domain.com or pop3.domain.com)
the correct port number (usually 110), AND
the proper login (secured or unsecured).

The sending side almost always requires a secured login on port 25.

hello:

i have been trying to fix my email/outlook spam issue.  emails are going out WITH my actual email address, sending emails to people in my contacts, etc.
I also have been getting a ton of spam emails myself.

I use:

-Windows 7 Pro
-64 Bit
-Outlook 2010
-I have our own domain name email address, that is hosted by Frontier

Odd thing:  I changed my password for my email, but my outlook kept sending/receiving with the old password.
When I tried to update  the new password in outlook (which I verified by using the webmail versus outlook), it would not accept it.

Thank you for any help you can provide.

Intermittently, Outlook 2007 will crash while sending an email and, needless to say, the email is not sent. However I wanted to know if there is a temp or backup copy of that mail anywhere. I've looked in drafts and it's not there.

I've sometimes typed a very long email and then lost the whole email when Outlook crashes so I just wanted to know if, like Word, there is a temp file that may be created.

Thanks.

I have been trying to send a 'GIF' that is animated in a Outlook 2003 Email and it does not seem possible. Is there a trick to it? Or is there a process that I am missing here?
Or is there an article that I should be reading re 'application of 'GIF'?
Comments would be appreciated. Thank you.

A:sending 'GIF' with Outlook 2003

One basic problem with trying to do anything "fancy" in an e-mail (i.e., anything other than plain, simple text) is that you have absolutely no control over the program that the recipient uses to view the e-mail. They could be using Outlook 2003, Outlook 2007, Outlook Express, the Gmail Web-based interface, the unique Web-based interface provided by a particular ISP (Internet Service Provider), etc. Each of these programs typically handles the "fancy" things (e.g., embedded images, stationery, etc.) in a slightly different way.Additionally, the options that the recipient uses in viewing their e-mails (e.g., plain-text display rather than HTML display) affects the appearance of that e-mail on the receiving end. That is, what you see when you send the e-mail is not necessarily exactly the same thing the recipient will see when they receive and view your e-mail.Below are some links about animated GIF files in e-mails:"Add an animated graphic to your Outlook message" (Outlook 2003):http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/outlook/...=CH063565631033"My animated GIF won't play" (Outlook 2007):http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/outlook/...1496781033.aspx"Gif Images Not Animated" (Outlook 2007):http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/ind...st&p=636665Even seemingly simple links in e-mail can cause problems. Again, this is usually due to the program that the recipient is using to view the e-mail, and the settings of certain options in that e-mail program.Below are some links about active/inactive links in e-mails:"Links in HotMail emails: why aren't they active?":http://ask-leo.com/links_in_hotmail_emails...hey_active.html"active email links in emails...":http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.ph...p;sk=t&sd=a

I have contacted administrators on several ends to no avail. Also I opened up outlook express and set up the account there. I was able to send out emails no problem. Once I went back to outlook I was now able to send out emails. However the next day started the problem all over again not sending in outlook but sending in express and once sent in express able to send in outlook. Anybody have any ideas how to force outlook to continue to send? I would like to keep using outlook, I don't really like express, just a matter of preference.

A:Outlook 2003 not sending

Hi tjggriz

Welcome to Tech Support Guy Forums!

Finally dusted us off and put us to use?
It sounds like the account settings in Outlook Express are correct and not correct in Outlook 2003.
When you send first in Outlook Express, you are logging onto the mail server, when you then switch over to Outlook 2003, the login process has already been performed.

Did you compare your account settings in Outlook 2003 with Outlook Express?
Perhaps My Outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication needs to be selected, on the Outgoing Server tab?

Receiving messages in Outlook 2003 works fine?

Good morning, people,

One of my users here is having a wierd issue with her Outlook program...Every time she sends an email out, a .txt file of that email is sent as an attachment to that email.

So an email saying, "Greetings!", has the text file attached that says, "Greetings!".

Any ideas?

Hello All

Looking for an explaination for this issue, client I support would like to send a word attachment via MS Outlook 03 but using the send to function in Word 2003 and selecting the mail recepient as attachment option, however the reciepients never get the email nor does it go into his sent folder. I have tested it and sent it to myself and have yet to receive anything. He does not get any error msgs, delivery failures etc... He can send the doc as an attachment by doing it the regular way through Outlook and it works and the msg goes to his sent folder.

Anyone come across this before?

Question: I have Outlook 2003 (Windows XP) and apparently when I try to send emails as small as 110KB, Outlook gets hung up in a processing stage and never sends the email. In fact it rejects or response the email as not sent. Occasionally a message from Symantec will appear indicating an error that the connection was lost with the server and that I should contact my ISP. Symantec's help Tech support Online, says "wait a few hours or contact the ISP support desk and try again. I have removed the programs re installed them and even was instructed to ensure the physical connection, the signal,(the cable) was only split once at 3.5 DB. I have attempted all and still the messages once they reach a certain size to do not send. Any thoughts or comments ? Thank you for any advice you may be able to offer.

After installing Windows 7, I installed Word 2003, and thereby Outlook Express 2003.

Occasionally on receiving, the system refuses to download incoming mail. but after a try or two that is successful.

However, sending mail is impossible - either new mail or a reply to an incoming mail. The message I receive is 550 Administrative prohibition

As this is my personal computer, and I am the administrator, can anyone guide me as how to overcome this problem? Many thanks.

A:Sending e-mail thru MS outlook 2003

The problem is rights given to you on the other end of the line. Administrative prohibition means that your actions are not permissible by the actual mail server that is providing you service.

You may need to enable SMTP authentication. You need to access your Internet Email Settings and under the Outgoing Server tab there's an option that says "My outgoing server (smtp) requires authentication". Set it to that and have option "use same settings as my incoming server".

For some time, my MS-Outlook 2003 has been reluctant to send out emails. they seem to just stay in my outbox for an inordinate amount of time. I quit the application, then reopen and sometimes that does the trick, othertimes not. I restart the computer and sometimes this does the trick, othertimes not. I have run detect and repair for the software, and also run BugDoctor, PC Medik and other stuff, but cannot seem to find a reason for this. When I try my email account settings, all is well and I have success in sending a test email.

Hi all. I have been searching for answers to 2003 Outlook problems I am having... I noticed someone else with the exact problem, however his solution didn't work for me, possibly because he was on dial up and I am not... I am able to receive email in outlook, but cannot send it. Error messages have ranged from error 550 address rejected, to no error just the email is returned... I have checked settings approx. 4,000 times, deleted and recreated the account, even purchased a new office package and reinstalled everything.. I am getting NOTHING!! I am using charter.net if that makes any difference, however, when I contact them, they assure me its not a problem on there end... I am afraid I will have to set my computer on fire if I don't get this solved soon.. either that or I will certainly be bald!!!
PLEASE HELP!!!

I am wondering if there is anyway to send a folder from your Outlook Mailbox to another user. My folder is divided into subfolders so it would be really inconvienient to have to try to go in and select every file manually. Any workarounds?

Desi

A:Outlook 2003 - Sending Folders

You can't attach a folder (it will only be a shortcut to the real folder), but it's easy to select a whole batch of messages inside a folder.

Click on the folder to open it.
Now click on the first message-header in right-hand pane.
Hold down SHIFT and click on last message at bottom of headers list.
This automatically selects ALL items in that folder.
Right-click anywhere inside highlighted list and choose 'Forward Items'.
A new email window will open with all the items attached.

When I click on the "To" button to start a new email, i would like "contacts" to be the default list. How do I set it?

A:Outlook 2003 - sending message

Go to your Inbox, then click the Tools menu and then click Address Book. When the Address Book opens, Click the Tools menu in the address book and then click Options. In the "Show this Address List First:" drop-down, select Contacts. That should do it.

A:Outlook 2003 not sending out large files

ISP's, Businesses & the like all set limits on attachments, it varies place to place. Also, if you try to send a large file to several people it will multiply the problems you're having. When someone does that here at work it REALLY hangs our exchange server up & I have to go delete it from the server itself. As far as all the outlook trouble, sounds like there's more to it than just Outlook freezing

Hello All,
My client asked me if he could send an email to all his clients through Outlook 2003 that he has sorted in a certain category. I explained how he would do that (using the Actions menu, New Message to Contact, etc.). The problem now is that this process only uses the first email from each contact. In this situation, the email needs to go out to all email addresses within a contact (example, it may be a husband and wife in one contact and the email needs to reach both).

ANYWAY, does anyone know how to achieve this?

Thanks in advance, Randy.

1. On the Tools menu, click E-mail Accounts.
2. Click View or change existing e-mail accounts, and then click Next.
3. Click your POP3 e-mail account, and then click Change.
4. Click More Settings.
5. On the Advanced tab, uncheck/deselct the "Leave a copy of messages on the

A:Stop the sending of read receipts in Outlook 2003

"Surely a more up-to-date version would work better?"

It depends what your definition of "working better" is, compared to Microsoft's definition.
You could try running "Office Diagnostics" or re-install Outlook.

I started using outlook 2003 on my new laptop @ Vista ver 6 sp1. I am experiencing problems with sending mail. It seems as if some of my mails are never received.
A possible hint: I have 2 Email accounts defined on my outlook. I have noticed that sometimes when I am sending a mail, and am choosing say account #1 to be used for this message, later when I check the "sent" folder I find that outlook used account #2 and not #1. Also, the "From" field on the "sent" folder for this message is empty.
Can anybody help me?
Thanks

This appears to be a common problem, with many solutions, though I have yet to find one that works for me. When using Outlook 2003 with Word 2003 set to be the email editor, Word opens and works fine to CREATE a new email. However, when trying to REPLY TO or FORWARD an email, I get the error message "Microsoft Word is set to be your email editor. However, Word is unavailable, not installed, or is not the same version as Outlook. The outlook email editor will be used instead...," and when I click OK to that message the native Outlook email editor opens. Word 2003 worked fine with Outlook 2003 replying to or forwarding emails till this morning, but the behavior described above now applies. The OS, by the way, is Windows 10. I have tried to both "repair" and "reinstall" the 2003 Office 2003 suite, both to no avail. Would appreciate a much needed solution to this puzzle.

Receiving email by OS6.0 is fine - I have an ADSL line, and until recently, all email sending and receiving has been totally seamless. Increasingly, however, the outgoing email has 'stuck', with the message "An unknown error has occurred. Protocol: SMTP, Port: 0, Secure(SSL): No, Error Number: 0x800C0131". I close down other programs, disconnect and re-connect the ADSL line, and finally have to re-boot before the emails will send. Because it's getting progressively worse, the thought of a virus crosses my mind, but I have no other symptoms, and have current Norton Live Update and Firewall protection. I have upgraded memory to 511Mb, on a PentiumIII(?) system, and no other programs fall over!! I have discussed the problem with my ISP, who feel it is not a server problem. (Huh!!). I've looked through other problems on the site, and can't see one exactly matching, and wonder if anyone can help please? Liz

Recently some emails have become stuck in my outbox and appear to be trying to send but never leave my send box -- yet the recipients report receiving the email over and over -- sometimes reporting over 25 times until they call to say "stop it already"!!! I have eventually had to delete the message to stop it from sending. Most of these messages have attachments, but not always. Please help before my friends and colleagues ban me!!

When email sent, it goes to Send box, Outlook registers delivery complete, then I get a McAfee VirusScan message indicating that email could not be sent , 530.5.7.0 Authentification required. It indicates to contact online help for email program for more info on the error, or email provider if problem persists.

Has been going on all week. I run a second computer on the same line, same email account, using Outlook 2007, and its working fine. Suggests it isnt an issue with my provider.

Any ideas? Is this an outlook problem, a McAfee problem, a worm or virus? And most importantly, how do I fix it?

A:Outlook 2000 email not sending

If you're getting a McAfee message, I'd be inclined to think that it's a McAfee issue. The "Authentication" required may be a setting you need to change in McAfee.

Check ALL the account setings between a computer that works and the one that does not.

Tends to suggest to me that your SMTP and POP3 settings may differ re Authentication settings.

ISSUE

2 PCs, 1 Router, 1 DSL modem

Outlook 2003
MS Exchange client
Windows XP Pro SP2
VPN Client Connection to corprate network

They can recieve emails fine

But when they try to send them, the emails appear to just sit in the Outbox. If you close and open Outlook. The Outbox is empty, but the email was never sent.

I belive the issue is with the router or the ISP. This is not an SMTP (port 25) issue, since they are using MS Exchange client to send and recieve the emails and they are on a VPN connection.
The VPN connection is working fine since they are able to recieve MS exchange email without a problem.

any ideas?

I have a worksheet that I'm working on for work. It shows a list of trucks with different insurances and expiration dates. I'm far from savvy using excel and I need help creating a code that will alert myself and one other person if a trucks insurance is about to expire.

A:Sending an email with outlook through excel

Hi there, welcome to the board!

So, this is a loaded question. Let's first get all the information out on the table, then we'll be able to give you directions on how to best solve this.

See if I understand this correctly. You have a spreadsheet. This spreadsheet is located on your desktop computer. In this workbook you have a worksheet which contains data. The data is a list of trucks in some range (not yet specified), difference insurance information (not specified) and their expiration dates (in a range not yet specified). So from this we don't know the workbook name, worksheet name, data range where this data lies, nor a sample of the data housed in this mysterious range. In not trying to go overboard, can you please give us some specifics about this missing information?

Once we know the above information we'll know where we're starting from. This is only half the equation. The other half is what you actually want done. Also, this second part is easier if you fully define the first part. In other words, to properly describe an end point (e.g. solution) it's best to have a well documented/defined starting point (e.g. problem).

Let's say, for arguments sake (since we're not very well defined at the moment), that what you're looking for in a solution is to notify you + 1 other in the event of these expiration dates coming close to the current system date. Some questions I would ask is:

When should this list of expiration dates be checked?
Should this list be checked even if the file isn't open?
Should these notifications be in the way of emails?
What if previous notices have been sent out, should there be a limit?

These are some of the questions which should be answered, but more importantly they should give you an idea of what we're after.

My assumptions up to this point are as such:

Using Excel 2010
Using Outlook 2010
No need to logon to Outlook (opens without needing a password)
Send emails based on a button press (or other manual action)
If email previously created then do not create another one
Track when emails were sent

If you want anything different from this it must be specified in detail.

Let us know if you have any questions.

Hi

I've developed this problem with Outlook where after composing an email and try to send I get an error message.

The header of the message box says Microsoft Office Word
and the warning message in the box says Interface Not Registered.

The receiving part of the program works okay and the rest of Office 2003 is working fine

I reinstalled the program but that didn't help !

Does anyone have any ideas or possible solutions?

Thanks

A:Solved: Microsoft Office Outlook 2003 Sending Error

Hi MadMel

Run the Detect and Repair option In Outlook 2003,
Help > Detect and Repair

If that fails to correct the problem:
With Outlook 2003 closed,
Start > Run
key in or copy and paste in the Run box:
Regsvr32.exe %Windir%\System32\Ole32.dll
Click Enter

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/870707/en-us

Let us know if that makes a difference.

When I send a distribution list from my Outlook 2007 to someone with Outlook 2003, the distribution list looks perfect when they click on the attachment. But, after they click on Save and Close, the distribution list does not show up in their contact list (or anywhere else that I can find). Is there a way to share distribution lists between these two Outlooks?
Thanks,

I generally work from home, and emails addressed to me at my employer's domain are redirected to my personal email address at my ISP's domain. What I want to do is send mail through my ISP, but I want it to appear as though it came from my employer's domain.

However, when I enter "[email protected]_domain.com" in the From field, the recipient gets an email which says it comes from "[email protected]_ISPs_domain.com on behalf of [email protected]_domain.com".

Can I do anything to change this?

A:Email Problem Sending From Outlook Express

Content error might be due to HTML format.
Or some bad words in the mail.
Or an attachment that the server won't allow to mail?

Microsoft has a bunch of possible causes of Error Number: 0x800CCC69, perhaps you can nail something specific by googling.

I have recently ran into a few problems with Outlook express 6.0. I can recieve emails but I am not able to send them. This program was working flawlessly up untill a few days ago. I have no idea why or how this happened. I have contacted my ISP and Microsoft with no success. It seems they both blame the other company, hehe. I have 3 different email addresses on there and none of them will send emails. This is also the case on my desktop computer, I can go directly to the websites who host email and I can successfully send and recieve with all the email accounts?!?! What the *$#& is going on?

Thanks in advance,

A particular user on Exchange server 2003 gets this error when sending external email:

You do not have permission to send to this recipient.
server name.domain.local #5.7.1 smtp;554 5.7.1

Have compared the settings to a working one, and all look OK. We also tried recreating the user profile and email address but it still doesn't work.

Any suggestions?

As you got the error back from the server, there is nothing wrong with the client or Outlook. It is probably some setting on the server side, blocking this specific computer, user or recipient.

Some, but not all, email coming from my same email domain, goes into the junk folder. I have scanned and repaired my ost and archive pst files. I also used a 3rd party tool to delete the base junk mail rule, so that when outlook closed and re-opened, it recreated it. Neither has worked. I also uninstalled office and reinstalled. I only have the problem on one computer. If I log into a different computer and start outlook, let it sync my inbox, I don't get the same problem. I also deleted all my rules and recreated them. Google searches have not yielded a result, perhaps I'm using the wrong keywords. Anyone seen this?

According to the Mail App 'What's New' details, it says the following:

What's new in Mail and Calendar for Windows 10

New features in the latest update:
- Send email from Outlook.com aliases
- Open & save Calendar .ics attachments in email
- See multiple upcoming events on the wide Calendar live tile
- Drag and drop calendar events to reschedule them (PC only)
- Print Month view in Calendar
- Use Mail and Calendar on HoloLens

According to the details it should work, however, it doesn't work for me. Are there any non-insiders who can clarify whether they're able to send email from an Outlook.com alias in their desktop Mail App?

It works OK for me on Windows 10 Mobile, however I'm not seeing any drop-down box in the desktop app.

Hi - I am running Outlook on a Win Professional bit system I sending one account Outlook from 2010 email Problem have been running basically the same configuration successfully for over a year now with multiple email accounts Everything worked fine up until this morning when I was sending a series of emails with attachments Each email's attachments totalled up to mb and the grand total of all of the attachments was about mb Everything went smoothly up until my last email and it just sat in my outbox and wouldn't go anywhere I eventually sent it with a different account with a different ISP I have tried sending other emails on the same account some without attachments some with small attachments but it appears that the account is quot broken quot for sending email I can Outlook 2010 Problem sending email from one account still receive email on all accounts and send email from every other account I have double-checked the settings for the troublesome account and when I use the Outlook 2010 Problem sending email from one account Test Account Settings button everything appears to work fine as it successfully sends the test message I found a reference to a built-in limit for Outlook attachments of mb and ran the Microsoft fixit which removes that limit but it had no effect One curious thing is that when I hit the send button which places the email in my Outbox the email does not have the italicized font which indicates an unsent message as was always the case up until now Any hints would be most appreciated - Many thanks

A:Outlook 2010 Problem sending email from one account

I had a look at the Outlook add-ins that were active and disabled the iCloud and iTunes add-ins. Everything seems to be working at this point.

There was an iTunes update a day or so ago. During the installation Apple does not even mention that they will be messing with your Outlook installation.

Once again Apple screws up Windows applications.

I had a Windows XP corruption to my system folder wherein I had to reinstall my operating system and "wipe out" my harddrive.

I have my entire "old" harddrive with all settings, files, etc. on it, and now my computer is up and running with Windows Vista Business.

I have successfully added my old PST file to the new OS and it works, however how can I get my Outlook 2003 rules, email accounts, etc? I'm not able to "export" as I cannot run the old Outlook program?...

Are these files located somewhere that I can manually add them (replace, whatever) to the new Vista OS/hard drive?

Thanks in advance...

I am having trouble with Microsoft Outlook crashing, when I send an email to multiple addresses.  I have reinstalled outlook and that does not solve the problem.  Thanks for your help.

A:Microsoft Outlook Crashing when sending email to multiple addresses

Check your Event Viewer Applications (under Windows logs in Windows 7), for Outlook error logs. Post the version of Outlook you are using, the operating system version you are using, along with Event ID number and whatever is in the Details tab in Event Viewer in your next post.
You can get to it through Control Panel>System (Vista and 7) or Control Panel>Performance in XP.

Unfortunately, we don't have enough information at this point to determine what the cause might be.

when i send e-mail in Outlook 2000 and select the names of the people i want to email. I just get...yourname (email)...in the TO bar...I was wondering how to display the name and email address all at once. Similar to the way AOL does Please help me!!!!

A:Display email address in outlook 2000 instead of just names when sending

Unless you're using your company's global address list, you must have saved the e-mail addresses yourself (either in your personal address book or in Contacts).

If so, the name is just a short identifier for that e-mail address. You can change the names to include the e-mail address by editing it the name:

In Contacts, right-click the contact, click Open.
Change the Full Name line to read:

Contact Name: E-mail address
e.g. John Smith: [email protected]
In the File As line, make sure it says the same as above.
Click Save and Close.

Alternatively, use:
File, Address Book, double-click the addressee, click the Name tab.
Add the e-mail address to the end of the surname and make sure it appears the same in the Display line.

If you're using a global address list, I'm not sure how you'd change it, maybe someone else can jump in and help you?

This error ( image below ) occurs when I try sending an E-Mails with a signature image. Sometimes it works, but 99% of the time it doesn't work. I can't figure out the problem..I've even tried remaking the signature image and saving it as a different name and in a different place. All I know is that when I send the same E-Mail without the signature, it sends perfectly fine. Also, another sympton is, when I send WITH the signature, it stays in the outbox, and never goes to the sent box... but it actually has been sent on some occasions when it said cant be sent and holds the mail in the outbox ( sencond image below of my inbox ). You know what im saying?

FYI, there is nothing written in the "Errors" tab.

For what appears to be no apparent reason, Outlook 2003 will no longer resize. It will appear as full screen or minimize to the try, nothing in between. Every time I click the resize button, the program minimizes to the taskbar. Clicking on the taskbar icon will not restore it. When I right click on the tray icon and select maximize, Outlook maximizes. If anyone knows of a solution, it would be appreciated.

A:Outlook 2003 Stopped Resizing

It may have been moved off the screen, either left, right, or bottom. But, it should automatically put it's self back on screen when restarted, at least my outlook 2003 does.
Some things to try:
1. Close Outlook
Make sure you haven't accidently enabled a dual display. Right click the desktop and choose properties. Click the settings tab. If your system is capable of using 2 displays, you'll see 2 icons labeled 1 and 2 in a box titled "Drag the monitor icons to match the physical arrangement of your monitors". (if you don't see this, skip to #2). Click the #2 and make sure Extend my Windows desktop onto this monitor is unchecked. Click OK
start Outlook and test

2.
If your taskbar is set to autohide, turn that off -- right click taskbar, click properties, uncheck AutoHide, click ok
Unlock taskbar if it is locked -- right click taskbar, click Lock the Taskbar if it is checked
Maximize the Outlook window
Drag the top edge of the taskbar up to make it taller, this should force Outlook to redefine it's window.
Click the restore down(resize) button. Outlook should hopefully be on screen now

reset your taskbar as you like.

3.
If the above doesn't work, the registry key that stores the window position may be corrupt. Deleting it should fix the problem.

WARNING: If you use Registry Editor incorrectly, you may cause serious problems that may require you to reinstall your operating system.

With that said, here's how to delete the key
Close Outlook
Click start | run
Enter regedit in the box and click ok/press enter
navigate to

Code:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\11.0\Outlook\Office Explorer
NB: If you have a version different than 2003, the 11.0 will be different, e.g. OL2000 will be 9.0
First let's save the key before we delete it, so we can put if back if needed:
Right click on the Office Explorer folder in the left pane and choose export, name it OLFrame and save it on your desktop
once the folder has been saved, in the right pane should be 2 values, Frame and Namespaces. Left click on frame to highlight it then press delete. Click Yes on the Confirm Value Delete dialog
close the registry editor

Restart Outlook and test. Once everything is working right, you can delete the OLFrame.reg file we saved on the desktop.

I'm running Outlook 2003 on XP SP3. For a long time it was just great, but now it's weird. I have four different signatures to be attached to four different email accounts. One day it just stopped assigning the right sig to the right email account. It defaulted to my personal signature. I've edited all the signatures several times and still the same thing. I've deleted all the signatures, added them back manually and still the signature defaults to the first one. It's really a hassle editing my sig for every email. Any ideas? Thanks.

Hi have searched for a solution but came up blank So any help will be greatly appreciated

When I plug my PDA into it's cradle and try to synchronise it It asks for my exchange server Password. Problem is I've never had an exchange server account in my life and Active sync was working fine until yesterday.

Second problem is when I try to start outlook2003 it tells me extend.dat failed to initilise. then a second message appears which tells me I don't have permission to access my email folders. once I click on this message Outlook closes down.

The only thing that I can think of is that Automatic update just downloaded a windows fix for several office apps including Outlook 2003.

Anyone got any suggestions or heard of this problem before.

Oh PDA is an HP ipaq6915 running windows mobile 5 and the pc is running windows xp ver5.1

OK... well I thought I had it covered but.... I copied the pst file from 2003 and tried to open in 2007. I recently read somewhere that you have to copy the pst when Outlook is closed. I did not close Outlook and copied the file while Outlook was open. Anyway to rescue these Emails? The old drive is toast so I can't do that. The pst file is 79mg so I suspect the info is there. Any thoughts? Thanks!

I know that 07 Word saves files in a .docx file that is not usable by the 97-03 Word and same goes for PowerPoint and Excell. My question is does this occur with Outlook 2007 also? I have a friend who said that he can't read my Outlook 2007 email to him (he uses the older version of outlook). Is there a way to change it so that I can send 2007 Outlook emails to people with the 97-03 versions?

Just started to set up Outlook. Have entered two email addresses. Mine and my wife.
Imported addresses & folders from OE. Some folders have different names in each email address. Everything from my email folders has been duplicated under wife (she had no files) where the folders are the same name ie inbox, deleted files, etc . When a new email arrives it goes to both. When I delete, it deletes from both. Suggestions please.

Hey gang, I've got a big problem. I've got Outlook 2002 on Windows Vista. Sometimes when I send out emails as soon as I hit send, Outlook will pop up with a message that says, "Outlook has stopped working, Windows is looking for a solution." The solution it gives me is to upgrade. I would hope that just because I'm using an older Outlook that it wouldn't screw me over like that. What can I do? The problem seems to happen randomly but when it does it happens over and over and over again. HELP!
