I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/directdownload.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

i'm also keeping the ram at as close to 800mhz as i can.
i increased the core voltage to under 1.4 volts.

heres where i want more information, i read if i lower my multiplier, i could overclock higher...should i lower it to x6 and increase fsb from there?

i'm also going to disable spread spectrum and increase my NB core but i dont know what a safe voltage range is for this...i want to keep all voltags within safe ranges.

That board has more issues than most other boards out there, and most of them start with overclocking so that is the last thing I would be thinking about doing unless you have money to flush (in which case why not buy what you really want).

Greetings,

My almost 3 year old Asus X52 F3SV Notebook suddenly froze and shut itself down today. It will not boot past the 'Asus' logo screen. The furthest it got was 'loading windows', but quickly rebooted once that screen showed up.
It has been running quite hot lately, but i cleaned the fan out last weekend, and it had been running without problem since then.
I'm running Windows Vista Premium, with no other real problems until now, with up to date windows updates and regular Spybot and anti-virus scans.
There were random multicoloured lines running through the Asus screen on the first reboot after freezing. Could it be my graphics card? (Nvidia 8600m). I did not hear any crackling/popping sounds, so I really hope it's not dead yet.
I've looked around these forums, but couldn't find a similar problem/solution.

Thank you.

Try running Bios defaults

This settings area can be called:
Bios Setup
CMOS Settings
System Setup
even just Setup
You can enter it by pressing the keyboard key that is displayed on your screen when first turning on your computer
Its sometimes:
A Fn Button like F1, or F2, or F10 or some other Fn key
DEL key
(whatever the computer states on screen when you first turn on your computer)
Once in Bios Setup, locate Setup Defaults (sometimes called Optimized Defaults)
Apply it, then Save and Exit Bios Settings (which is usually F10, but it will tell you in the Bios Settings screen)

If that doesn't help try reming and re-seating your Ram cards (even your hard drive)
You can download your Manual to find the locations of these components, but they are usually located under the laptop, under the covers

If it is your Video card (onboard) then that was be a big concern
You may need to locate the disassemble guide online, then blow out all internal dust

It may also require a CheckDisk scan
You can read HERE on how to do that outside Windows

A:Opinions On Asus Overclock

Do it yourself, no AI Overclocking, and do not use PEG-Link. That just overclocks the PCI-E bus, not the video cards themselves. Plus it just makes the video cards unstable while causing no noticeable performance difference. And Upgrade your PSU from a generic brand before you overclock. You shouldn't be running SLI on a generic 450 Watt.

I set the EZ Tuning Wizard to gaming performance and chose the tower cooler option. However, my CPU is ramped up to only 4.5 GHz, which is a minimal increase compared to the automatic 4.4 GHz boost clock. I'm rather a noob at overclocking, so is there something I can do to get a better overclock? My max voltage was 1.219 V and the CPU temp maxed at 69?C while running GTA V for about 15 minutes. Or should I not overclock any further? My specs are listed in my signature.

A:ASUS EZ Tuning Wizard only gives me a 4.5 GHz overclock

Using proprietary software to OC has built in cut offs...aka limitations to prevent damage. That being said...the best way to OC the CPU is in the BIOS manually. Doing so with out the proper knowledge can do harm as well.

I would suggest signing up on a few OCing forums as well as the Asus forum and see what advice/help you can get.

Hi

I have a P5VD2-MX Mb with a E6400 and I flashed the Bios to v1003 the lastest from ASUS. However I am unable to find how to change the voltage and can only set the FSB to a max of 300.

I have searched google for a hacked/modded bios but have no luck atall.

Can I overclock this MB/CPU faster than 300 FSB ?

Can I change to Biso so I can alter the Voltage ?

Also I have DDR2 533 memory. In the bios it appears as 266 ?

If anyone can help I would be most grateful

A:Asus A7V400MX w/ sempron 2400+ Shows "asus" splash screen then Freeze.

common problems

well, first off. The beep you heard is natural. It means that the POST (power on self test) went through sucessfully! you might need to check the processor. Sometimes, processors can cause a bad instruction to activate, which causes your computer to freeze. The powersupply also could be an important factor. You should turn the computer on with the least amount of things. for example... (motherboard, 1 stick of ram, processor, harddrive, and the powersupply) doing this will limit what could be wrong and make it easier to troubleshoot. I would definetly check the processor, and even possibly the memory. hope this helps!

I would really appreciate if someone can help me demystify my problem!

I have a two year old Asus A52J laptop, with Windows 7 Ultimate SP 1.

A few days ago I have noticed that the laptop sometimes (twice so far in the past week) wont boot after Asus logo on the black screen. I turn it off on the button and turn it on, everything seems fine. No errors reported, no safe mode, the windows works properly, without any reports. Today, however, all my accounts from the Opera have been logged out after this (probably the cookies have been messed about), but nothing was reported.

Other than this occurrence, everything seems to be working proper, so I am really puzzled in regard with the boot.

Thanks for your help and any kind of input!

Guys,

- I think this BSOD happened by auto CPU overclock, because otherwise I haven't

done any overclocking by my self.

- So please look at images and even video that I've posted here.

- Try to find solution how can I maintain default clock and heat temperature < 50C.

- My CPU temperature increases usually from 35+ to 55+ . And no overclock was

done. CPU is AMD FX-4100 - 3.6 Ghz;

- Or maybe its thermal paste.

- Voltage is messed up, just see what needs to be corrected...

- In-Bios look ASUS M5A97 AM3+ Motherboard with UEFI BIOS OC Demo made easy Part1 (for my M5A97);

- PLEASE look at "CPU" part in video if I need to maintain something there at

"voltage". And if this has nothing to do with voltage, tell me what is.

A:BSOD - Probably happened by "auto CPU" overclock

Click the OS Default Settings button just below the arrow you marked "Default CPU Speed".
That should set things back to factory/default settings.
You will probably be prompted to reboot or it will do so automatically.
When it restarts default settings should be set.

Then see how things operate. Let us know if that helps or if problems persist.

Recently I've been overclocking my rig so I can get smoother framerates in Team Fortress 2.

XP 2100+ (1.7ghz)
nForce 2 mobo
ATI X800 XL

The FSB usually runs at 133mhz. The highest I can set the FSB without crashing is 161mhz which bumps the speed up to 2.093ghz (13 x 161 = 2093). Windows boots up fine, and Everest registers the overclock and the new speed. However, when I try to start up TF2, I get a "Cannot Create d3d Device" error message. I get the same message whenever I try to load any game.

I've been testing and the highest FSB I can set and not get the above error message is 146mhz, which gives me a speed of 1.9mhz. Does anyone know why I'm getting the error message at FSB speeds of 147mhz and above, or how I can get rid of the error message.

A:No "usb legacy support" "qfan" options on my asus laptop bios.

If your BIOS doesn't include such options, then they simply are not there.

I don't know about hacking BIOS's, and I wouldn't suggest it at all. You could brick your motherboard.

However, you should check with your manufacturer's website and see if there is an update available for the BIOS that may increase available options.

Hi!I have a small issue on my Asus GTX970 Strix.I'm using the GPU Tweak utility and set the profile to "gaming". Here is the settings according to the sliders: GPU boost clock: 1253 MHzMemory clock: 7010 MHzMax voltage: 1175 mVBut when I launch a game, the GPU clock goes up to 1291 MHz and voltage to 1200 mV (memory is ok). So I have a 38 MHz and 25 mV more than what it should be. And it happens also when I overclock; always a 38 MHz and 25 mV more than the sliders. The same happens with Afterburner. Not really a serious problem, but I'm just curious to know why this is happening  Thanks!

I have an Asus Lamborghini VX1 notebook that came preloaded with Vista Ultimate 32.

I recently upgraded to Vista x64.

Most of the drivers are ok, barely. The one main driver I can not seem to resolve is the Display Driver. Device Manager names it a standard graphic adapter, though I know it is a Geforce 7400 by nvidia.

I have downloaded a driver from nvidia manually and trying to install, it tells me I dont have Vista running.

I tried automatically detecting on nvidia and it advises to visit Asus website.

I visited Asus and could not find any drivers matching a 64bit version.

Has anyone any ideas?

A:Asus Notebook

Please ensure you are downloading this driver :

GeForce Release 178

If the problem persists, look in Add/Remove Programs and see if nVidia is referenced in there. If so, uninstall it, reboot, and try reinstalling the driver set.

If that doesn't apply or does not work, go into Control Panel - Device Manager and right click on your Display Adapter and click "uninstall". Again reboot, and try reinstalling the driver set.

See if you can upgrade to 3GB or 4GB of RAM and install Windows 7 RTM (OR RC) 64-bit.

I would use 64-bit but I had some heating issues so I went back to 32-bit and now its working perfectly.
I ran Crysis benchmark for 9 hours on 32-bit easily without a fan, but on 64-bit the system about blows after 10 minutes.

Hi folks ive just recently bought an asus Notebook pc x102b and was wondering if anyone can give me a few hints on how to keep it speeded up and how to clean it (wat s/ware to use to keep it up to date ) ?? thanking to anyone who answers in advance .

A:Asus notebook problem ..

First of all - welcome to BC !

Assuming you have working antivirus already installed then perhaps the following, all available from BC as free downloads. If you don't have working A/V then selecting and installing one is your first priority !  I use the following but there are alternatives.

Ccleaner by Piriform. an excellent tool for removing temporary files which clutter up the system -

http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/ccleaner/

Note that one section of Ccleaner is a registry cleaner. You are strongly advised NOT to use these tools, see this image -

https://www.dropbox.com/s/0bhr5xo96sshvp7/Ccleaner%20settings%20window.jpg?dl=0

Then I would recommend the use of both Malwarebytes and Super AntiSpyWare which you can get respectively here -

http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/malwarebytes-anti-malware/
http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/superantispyware/

Both of these come as free and paid for versions. The main difference is that with the free ones you have to run the scans yourself and they do not offer real time scanning. They are both anti-malware products but with a slightly different emphasis on the threats they search for. Have a look at them and make up your own mind which is better for you - paid or free - but I would recommend the use of both.

Over and above that, since prevention is both better and easier than cure, practice safe surfing. Don't open e-mail attachments unless you are certain you know who sent them. And even then be careful, it is extremely easy to spoof an e-mail sender's address. Don't be tempted to use software 'cracks', these are usually riddled with malware. Try to avoid 'dodgy' web-sites. And remember - if an offer sounds too good to be true, it probably isn't true !

One final note. There is a lot of good software out there on the web - a lot of the software I have is downloaded. If possible always download from the author's/publisher's site and when installing - ALWAYS use the custom install, NOT the quick or easy one. If there is something else attached custom install will usually allow you to de-select it before it installs.

A:Asus notebook problem ..

If you give us the make and model of this notebook we can look up the manuals / data sheets to see how or if the battery comes out. And how old it is.

Two possibilities come to mind. One is the battery could be 'cooked', ie too old to hold charge. The other is one I have seen on multi-voltage multi-computer chargers, chargers which are designed to work with a wide range of different laptops. This type of charger has a 'select voltage' switch on it and as a safety measure the manufacturers set it to the lowest level. Again, the manual will tell you what the input voltage should be and if the voltage is significantly below this it may run the computer but not have enough volts to charge the battery.

It is a sad fact of life that after a while all batteries lose their efficiency and if this notebook is over three years old this is a real possibility.

My notebook has slowed up dramatically. It has 4gb RAM. It has lost its desktop icons at start-up. The CPU is almost always at 100% usage.
A quick look at the internet shows that some of the start-up programs may be malware.
Windows Defender shows a number of possible registry entries that may be malware.
I have attempted to remove P4P.exe with HJT but this has no effect.

Go back to ASUS and download the Vista 64bit drivers for your model.
They should work. Try compatability mode if they won't install directly.

ASUSTeK Computer Inc.-Support-

After looking further you will need to download the Vista 32bit drivers and try installing in compatability mode.

They have over 40 items listed under 64bit but not one is a driver.

So I bought an ASUS X550LA notebook with an i7 processor, plenty of RAM and storage, Win 8.1. Thinking such a sweet processor would work well, even for gaming for my grandson, I assumed the graphics would be just fine and didn't explore it. Oops. It uses onboard graphics, max resolution 1366 x 768. My fault, I know. Is there anything I can do to improve the graphics? Is there space for a graphics card in one of these laptops? Thanks for any assistance. Learned the hard way on this one.

A:ASUS Notebook Graphics

Hi and welcome to TSG.

Unfrotunately, with a notebook you are pretty much stuck with what you have in the way of hardware.

It looks like that model has Intel HD 4400 graphics which is pretty low end and only really up to the task of internet browsing, office, email etc in my opinion.

Hi everyone,

Not sure if this should be here but.......

I recently purchased an ASUS notebook X-102BA and it is just the slowest thing. I installed firefox, thunderbird, macafee and VLC media player and don't know if these are the problem. Any ideas how I might find out what the problem is or is this a feature?

Thanks all for reading.

A:ASUS notebook very slow

Well, the CPU has about equivalent performance to an Intel Atom, and the system gets review comments like "modest performance even for a budget laptop" (http://www.pcadvisor.co.uk/reviews/laptop/3498812/asus-x102ba-review/)

Did it seem slow before you installed the mentioned software? Not wanting to seem biased, but I'd try something different to McAfee...

It isnt the "VGA" drivers you need. You need the full driver for your notebook and version of windows (64bit or 32)

This issue was raised in another thread which was closed out before it was resolved. I have an ASUS Notebook K53e and I want to disable the touchpad on it which the specific make/model is ELAN PS/2 Port Smartpad. You should be able to do this with Fn+F9 however that keyboard function does not work on my computer as the guy in the previous thread. When I got to devmgmt.msc->Properties on the device->Driver , the "Disable" button is greyed out. I did not receive a driver CD with the machine I purchased . I need this thing disabled because it interferes with the typing very badly. Where do I go from here? Thanks,

Well, I just found the fix myself after posting this thread. You have to go to Control panel->Hardware and Sound->Devices & Printers-> Right click on the PC device->Mouse Settings->ELAN tab there is an option to Stop Device. Pain the arse mate

Upon powering on my notebook either things will happen:

1. Will lead me to a complete black screen where I can only move my cursor around then will blue screen and restart.

2. Scan and repair drive (Gets stuck then BSOD)

3. Show me options of refreshing / resetting etc but after completing a reresh or reset it'll BSOD

I've surfed through the forums and have been looking at some solutions but none of them have seemed to help.

Could you guys please give me a rough idea on what you guys recommend for me to do?

I've tried chkdsk and that has been stuck on for hours and hours. sfc /scannow does not allow me for some reason as well.

A:BSOD Upon Powering On ASUS Notebook

Are you able to get into Windows at all? If so, Please provide this information so we can provide a complete analysis (from the Pinned Topic at the top of the forum): Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) Posting Instructions Please use Option 1 as it provides Event Viewer logs.

If not, then I'd try a reset with the recovery disks. If you don't have them, you can order them from Asus. Here's a link on info about doing that in the US: Order Recovery Discs (USA)

If that still doesn't work, then start with these free, bootable diagnostics: Initial Hardware Diagnostics
If unable to boot to the discs, please post back for further instructions.

hi all,

My Asus Notebook got BSOD recently, the BSOD appears when i play games (MMO#Dragon Nest) and usually

when i play a 720p Video *idk if it related with the P* I use ThrottleStop 5.0

Attachment 22776

that's my settings and when i played 720p videos it goes up at 60-63 max,

i have run memtest86+ for my two slot RAMs separately , no errors, i replace the thermal paste for CPU and VGA

the BSOD come in 2 form, the first one is this error i attach, the other is WHEA_UNCORRECTABLE error but it

does says 0x124 error too... can you at least tell me which hardware is faulty, do you think it's HDD or

MotherBoard maybe?

thanks, any comment will be appreciated

hi,
The power button isn't working.
The only way I can boot up is by booting into Asus Express Gate Cloud (which is a different button that starts this Asus mini-os with 4 apps) then pressing "switch OS" to boot into Windows 7.

But since Windows 7 is so slow, I decided to upgrade to Windows 10.
After upgrade it worked fine (although without performance improvement IMO), and restarted.
But after shutdown and starting the Asus Express Gate Cloud, the "switch OS" button does not work - leads to a black screen and remains stuck there until i take out the battery.

Any ideas?

Dear EightForums:

A:DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE - Asus N56D Notebook

The minidumps are all pointing to the driver: usbhub.sys which is your default hub driver for USB. Please make sure you use Windows Updates to make sure you are update and that you can't update any more. It may also be something plugged into your USB port that is causing the BSOD so try plugging and un-plugging see if you get any BSOD's.

You might want to update your chipset/motherboard drivers and any other drivers to Windows 8 64bit versions if possible by checking your manufacturers website:

ASUS - Notebooks- ASUS N56DP

I have also found some drivers you should consider updating or un-installing/removing if un-needed:

MarvinBus64.sys - likely a part of Pinnacle Studio's Marvin Bus: Driver Reference Table - MarvinBus64.sys
atkwmiacpi64.sys - ATK WMIACPI Utility: Driver Reference Table - atkwmiacpi64.sys
AiCharger.sys - Asus Charger Driver: Driver Reference Table - AiCharger.sys (this is known BSOD creator, please un-install it)
ASMMAP64.sys - LENOVO ATK Hotkey ATK0101 ACPI UTILITY: Driver Reference Table - ASMMAP64.sys
afcdp.sys - Acronis File Level CDP Kernel Helper: Driver Reference Table - afcdp.sys

the first ones rimmptsk.sys , rimsptsk.sys , rixdptsk.sys are for your Ricoh Memorystick Controller ?
ATKACPI.sys etc are from Asus and you need to go to your laptop manufacturers website and download all the latest drivers ?
Also check you have the latest bios ?
finally goto the Realtek website and update your network card driver ?

let us know how it goes ?

This laptop can't see any wireless networks. (where it has been able to connect before)

the wireless switch is enabled, and when I try to turn the switch on and off, the icon doesn't specify whether or not its actually on or off. My router is broadcasting the signal because three of my other wireless devices (ipod touch, acer 10'' laptop, iPad ) can connect to the wireless network. I ran a system recovery to try and reset any configurations that could be causing problems, and even after the system recovery the problem persists.

Any extra advice would be appreciated.

Sorry if I forgot to mention anything and I'll answer with another post

Hello people. I would like to request assistance. I need to disable the touchpad on my Asus G74Sx notebook. Is there some kind of program I can download that will allow me to disable the touchpad?

Pressing function F9 does not disable the touchpad, and going into the BIOS and disabling the internal pointing device also disables the keyboard, so that doesn't work for me.

I have downloaded all the drivers for my notebook numerous times, and I don't know what else to do to try to turn off this touchpad. Going into the control panel and disabling the touchpad that way, also doesn't work.

I run Windows 7 Home Premium.

A:I am unable to install windows 7 OS in my asus eee notebook

Welcome to TSF Sakti.

Very few netbooks/nettops are built with fully 64-bit compatible hardware, in any case, they are mostly limited to 2GB of RAM and x64 W7 will use ~30 more RAM and drive space than x86.

You need Windows 7 (x86) 32-bit.

Can you get into the BIOS settings?
On Asus laptops you repeatedly press the F2 key immediately after pressing power on.

Also, if you repeatedly press the ESC key at power on it should bring up the boot device menu, where you can choose to boot from the CD/DVD to test.

Hey!
I just installed WINDOWS7 in my notebook ASUS (X83V). Before it was W Vista!
Now I can't find the proper drivers to w7. 32 bit
I've tried in ASUS website, but I didn't find.
Help?
Tnks! =)

A:Driver to Asus notebook x83v for Windows 7

Don't know if you'll find all the W7 drivers but here's a way to start. Get the network driver working first

I looked at the Vista LAN driver for your ASUS. It's uses a Realtek Gigabyte driver.
> Try HERE
> Download driver "Win7 32/64 Auto Installation Program (SID:1477671)"
> Unzip the file to your desktop. Run the Setup.exe file

Once your network card is running... your ASUS uses an Intel chipset. Run Intel Driver Update Utility

ASUS notebook K50IJ just over 1 year old with original OS (7 Home Premium 64 bit SP1). Daughter's college pc.
I am having very random BSOD's, sometimes more frequent than others. Had 2 today while trying to diagnose.
Steps taken so far:
chkdsk.....OK
memtest86+ for 2 hours.....OK
Ccleaner.....basic and registry clean
Malwarebytes full scan.....OK
I tried to run Windows Memory Diagnostics Tool, but it wanted me to insert a system disk on restart due to not finding the right files.
The only other issue that I can see is my Action Center has an hourglass sign and says "backup in progress". My daughter started this after the first BSOD and then it crashed again and was not able to finish the backup.
TIA for your time.

So this morning my dad went to power off his ASUS K55N Notebook, and it didn't turn off correctly, the screen went black, but the system stayed powered on (had to perform a hard shutdown). He didn't perform any Windows Update(s) or install new drivers prior to this, he didn't change anything, and just now it did the same thing.

What could be causing this?, the Notebook was performing perfectly fine before today.

Attached is the .zip generated by the SF Diagnostic Tool.

Thanks.

Not too long ago (probably a week and a half), I took my laptop to be serviced and repaired as it was still covered under warranty. However, while some of those problems seems to have been resolved (four beeps and notifications stating that the display driver stopped responding) I noticed that it still has some of the issues from before. The internal fan is occasionally loud, which probably means that the system tends to overheat. When this happen, the notebook freezes up for a few seconds and restarts automatically.

I've been contemplating cracking open the notebook and seeing if the fan is clogged up with dust or whatnot, but I'm not sure what the safest way to go about it is. Thanks in advance.

Your description seems to point to the nVidia graphics card.
This can be a driver problem, an overheating problem, or a broken hardware problem.
For starters please:
- download a fresh copy of the latest Win8 compatible nVidia video drivers from the Asus website
- uninstall the current nVidia drivers from your system
- install the freshly downloaded drivers
- monitor for further BSOD's

More to follow after I look at the reports......

model is a E402M but when i boot up the laptop and try to access the troubleshoot menu with F9 nothing happens. pressing F2 brings me to a blue screen with BIOS information and boot configuration etc. but i have no idea how to factory reset.
ive tried youtube but all the ASUS windows 8 factory reset tutorials show the F9 way of factory reseting. this laptop is running 8.1 if that helps.

any suggestions? windows 7 doesn't even see the modem, and when I install the modem software from Asus's site, it doesn't do anything, it seems to get throught the installation but then just dissapears, never says "complete" or anything. still nothing under "modems" in device manager. the modem is made by LSI.

thanks so much in advance.

A:Asus M70vn notebook, can't install modem

Try doing this - you need to install the driver in compatibility mode with the OS its written for eg for vista drivers install in compatibity mode with vista also make sure they are matched for either 64bit OS or 32 bit OS - to do this :
To install a driver OR program in compatibility mode - right click the setup.exe file - click properties - click compatibility - check run in compatibility with vista/xp etc - check run as administrator - leave the rest blank. Start setup.exe and install.

Also make sure your your using whql drivers(CERTIFIED) for 64bit W7 as MICROSOFT has driver enforcement, and wont install the drivers unless they are signed (certified).

I have an Asus Notebook with Windows 8. I am having a problem with a Matshita UJDA 740 CDRW/DVD removable drive. The drive shows up in my control panel and says it is working properly. When I insert a disc of any type the light on the front of the unit blinks and nothing else happens. Also I am using a USB2.0 hub. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Hi

I have Asus K501UX-Q72S-CB Bilingual Notebook, i7-6500U windows 10 installed. I would like to wipeout the harddrive and install win7 ultimate.

Use rufus to create the win7 installer but got stuck during installation on the language screen with no mouse cursor.

Please help.

A:Need help installing win7 ultimate to asus notebook

Does it have usb 3.0 ports, you could hook up an external mouse and keyboard.

But you`d have to create a windows 7 installer with the usb 3.0 drivers integrated and start over.

I use Asus EZ Installer, works like a charm.

Support Center | ASUS USA

The specs say it has 2 usb 2.0 ports, you should be able to use those to hook up a mouse and keyboard.

I just bought a new ASUS G2S laptop . I installed battlefield 2142 successfully. Now when I click on the game it comes up with the BF2142 Start screen and then bounces back to the desktop. I've tried running as administrator and running in compatibilty mode for Windows xp. No luck. I turned the graphics down, updated my graphics drivers and downloaded all of the O/S updates. It still doesnt work. I'm running Windows Vista Premium, Nvidia 8600GT graphics card, and 2Gigs of RAM. Battlefield 2 is doing the same thing. I've contacted EA and ASUS and have gotten nowhere with them. I'm in Iraq at the moment in the Marine Corps and certainly would love to play my game. Please if you have any idea as to what I need to do besides dump Vista and load XP please let me know. Thanks a bunch.

Hey guys!

In the summer of '10, I bought an Asus K70ID notebook. When I first started it, everything seemed allright. But when I started installing software, the BSOD appeared.. There are weeks were I don't notice anything, and everything works good, but sometimes he just crashes 6 times in a row..

The message says that I have to delete newly installed files and try again, but I did, and the BSOD still appears.. It mostly appear when I use my processor a lot (iTunes, MSN, gaming etc.)

I phoned the story I bought it from, and they told me that I had to put it back to factory settings. I did, but still the BSOD appears..

Can somebody help me?

Specification:
Processor: Pentium(R) Dual-Core CPU T4400 @ 2.20GHz
Ram: 4GB
System:64 bits
Windows 7 Home Premium (x64) - pre-installed

PS: Sorry for the grammar mistakes, I'm Dutch

My option is to buy a new copy of Win 7 and hunt for the drivers on the net - which I have been unsuccessful in so far.

Also came across a set of Setup disks from Asus for $30 for this particular model of Notebook - would any be available in the UK, or even for download ?

Asus have not replied to my email.....

yesterday i decided i had too many apps on my laptop to uninstall cleanly so i backed up the files i wanted and did a clean install of vista Vista notebook Asus on S96J randomly freezes business bit ever since i did that my computer has been randomly freezing for no apparent reason i can see no pattern in when it freezes or what im doing at the time it seems completely random but the worst part is after it freezes and i use the power button to manually shut the computer down the display wont work for a period of time for example if the computer freezes and i have to manually shut it off when i attempt to reboot the machine i can hear the hard drive working and the fans running but no image comes up on screen unless i wait Vista freezes randomly on Asus S96J notebook a little while to power the computer back up initially i thought that it might be a problem with the display driver so i updated to the latest ati driver Vista freezes randomly on Asus S96J notebook for the card x mobility but i dont think that the driver problem will explain why the display doesnt even work in the BIOS after i have to manually shut down the computer i am just super frustraited with this and about ready to chuck my notebook out the window so if there is anything anyone knows that i dont please let me know PS all drivers are up to date as far as i can find the specs are Asus s j C D T Ghz Gb ddr x mobility

A:Vista freezes randomly on Asus S96J notebook

I actually just started having the samee exact problem as you. The only way I will get the display back is if I either unplug the power adapter and take out the battery then put it back in, or if I wait about half an hour until it restarts many times. I also have another problem when I finally do see the display and log on. Every day or two my display turns all colorful and freezes. That's when i have to do a hard reset and then boom, no display again. If anyone has a solution please help me out here.

Have to keep downloading and installing Adobe Flash Player every time I boot or restart my Asus Laptop.

Running Windows 7 Professional - K52JT 64 bit with SP1

Anybody know how to fix this dastardly issue would be very helpful as it is time consuming each time having to start up computer, then go to Adobe, download flash and install. It is like it doesn't remember it each time it starts, as though it is cancelled each time it is shut down. I note that even when it doesn't work, it shows as being installed in Programs.

Thanks

Asus A555LA A Series XX2064D 90NB0652-M32310
Core i3 (5th Gen) - (4 GB DDR3/1 TB HDD/Free DOS) Notebook

order placed. product will be received shortly.

the asus website is listing only windows 10 64 bit and windows 8.1 64 bit, for driver downloads.

so can windows 7 be installed in this notebook?

if it can be installed, where should i get the drivers from?

i believe the laptop comes with a driver cd. but i think those drivers are for windows 8.1.

sorry if something is wrong or incorrect. this is my first post here.

A:can windows 7 be installed on asus A series notebook A555LA?

Most likely not because of missing drivers. The required drivers are probably not available - from anywhere.

Watercooling was once reserved for hardcore overclockers and gamers. Constructing a liquid cooling loop meant piecing together various parts from different manufacturers, plumbing the lines yourself and crossing your fingers that there were no leaks when you flipped the switch.

A:Watercooling goes mobile with the Asus GX700 gaming notebook

The real issue I see is, how hard is it to switch out components? If it is a pain or impossible to upgrade it, then it will end up becoming two pointless paper weights in a matter of time.

Or is the liquid cooling system more like a cooling pad? Thus it could be used by any laptop.

Hi Experts

Client of mine has bought his notebook ASUS U31S with external DVD drive yesterday and he asked me to install windows 7 ultimate (origin was windows 7 home edition) beside other operating system Linux and Solaris.

I divided the 500 GB hard disk but didn't touch the hidden partition that has recovery.

I formatted the C partition that had windows 7 home edition and install a fresh copy of windows 7 ultimate,,,,,the process was smooth , first restart asking about username and computer name , password,,,etc ,,,,but with the second restart, PC kept rebooting without completing the windows installation.

Although I have used the same widnows 7 CD for his other new laptop and the installation went smooth without any problem.

I tried different media same problem.

This laptop does have an external DVD driv, of course it is an LG and brand new
What could be the cause of this issue ?

Regards
