View Outlook 2007 Appointments in Access 2007

Q: View Outlook 2007 Appointments in Access 2007

Can anyone please help. I'm trying to look at Outlook 2007 Calendar Appointments in Access 2007.

I've seen many postings discussing adding appointments from from Access into Outlook, but I want to look the other way.

The code I've started with is

Dim olapp As Object
Dim olappt As Object
Set olapp = CreateObject("Outlook.Application")

...but that's as far I can get. I'm lost after that.

My game plan is to link our Exchange Calendars used on ipad2's to our Access database, to store Sales Rep visits against customers visited, straight from the ipad into the database.

Anyone know how? I'd be very grateful.

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/directdownload.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I'm using Microsoft Outlook 2007.
When I make a "new appointment", I usually "INSERT" business cards to it (from Contacts, of course).
But when I happen to update contacts information later on (in Contacts), the change made by me in the particular contact (for example phone number) does not get reflected in the business cards in appointments. The change is only made in Contacts, but not in scheduled appointments. Which makes the whole process much more time consuming, as I prepare a lot of reccurenced appointments, so I hoped that once I've set them up I wouldn't need to check them again...

Anyone could help...??

A:Appointments in Outlook 2007

You can change the recurring appointment as a series with the new business card.

Or I suspect that you could use VBA to "refresh" all of your appointments on the click of a menu button, or maybe based after you update a contact information.

Something bizarre happened on a user machine I'm looking at. They have a lot of appointments including some series and for some reason, when you go back into them, they are asking for acceptance, even though that user created them.

Tested with a couple of new appointments, and that's fine, so it's just all historical data.

Anyone got any ideas please?

thanks

It looks as though the meetingn organiser has changed. All existing items show the user as email address, whereas new ones show as user name. Email address is still the same, but something has obviously thrown it out.

We recently made a switch from Office 2002 to Office 2007.

One of our administrative assistants made a booking in Outlook within a room calendar rather than using her personal calendar and adding the room as a resource. She now needs to change it to a different venue.

We can book it in the new venue. However, we cannot find a way to delete this event. (Compounding problem: This is also a recurring event for several weeks in a very busy room. So even though it's free, no one can book it, leading to several people thinking they have the room at the same time.)

In 2002, I would log on as the resource and delete it manually, but since the resource is set up as a room, I no longer have access.

Any thoughts from anyone?

I've got one staffer who is experiencing the following issue with Outlook 2007 calendaring.

She has a recurring appointment on Wednesday of every week. 15 minutes before the scheduled meeting, the reminder pops up. OK... this is good.

It's an hour long meeting, and 15 minutes after the end of the meeting, a reminder pops up that she is now past due to the meeting.

Then, it keeps reminding every 15 minutes and will continue to do so until the notices are ignored. It does this everyday, until the next meeting rolls around, when it starts reminding 15 minutes ahead again. Not so good.

Any thoughts as to where to start looking for the source of this oddity?

TIA

Hello all:

First time poster.

In the folder/tree view on the left in Outlook 2007 (Windows XP Pro) the Contacts folder is not showing up.

In Outlook 2003, it was right there underneath Calendar, which, by the way, is also missing from the Folder/Tree view.

I can access my Contacts via the big tab at the bottom but I want the tree/folder view as it broke up the hierarachy very nicely.

Any ideas?

Thanx in advance,

--d.

Hello all; in Outlook 2007 Calendar monthly view, it used to show the appt details on each day, but it went away and just shows the small triangles, and I cannot find how or where to restore it. The details DO show up on day and week view, but not on whole month view like before, and it was very convenient. Anyone know how to restore this feature on the monthly view? Thank you! Hey all, I have an interesting one for you. We've migrated to Office 2007 and I have a user who, in Outlook 2003, would open a shared calendar and do a search for something and it would show only those calendar items that contained the search term and it would show them on a regular calendar view with the days of the week. In Outlook 2007 it's displaying these search results in a list view format. I can't figure out how to get it to view only what was searched for in a regular week or month type of view. If I do the search and then go to View | Current View and select Day/Week/Month then I lose the search and I'm taken to the view that shows everything in the calendar. Any ideas?

I have a user that accidentally drug a contact into his Inbox. The contact now does not appear in his Contacts folder, but it also does not appear in his Inbox. I'm certain the contact is indeed in his Inbox, but I cannot get Outlook to show me non-message items in the Inbox. Is this possible in Outlook 2007? Can I dive into the mailboxes via exchange (2003) and get it out?

A:Outlook 2007 Inbox 'view all items'?

When I drag a contact to the inbox it doesn't move there, instead it starts a new message with that contact in the (To) field, smae thing happens when I drag a contact to any folder (Calendar = Meeting request, Tasks = Task request... etc)

The only place where the conact went is the deleted items so maybe this is where it was dragged.

I am using outlook 07 on exchange server 07.

FYI...Using Outlook 2007 with Windows XP and Windows 7 (2 computers)

When I read emails, the fonts stay (or appear) in my preferred size, about 12 pt.

When I hit REPLY, the text increases to literally 1/2 inch high or more. You can read my reply from across the room the text is so big.

I'm sure there's a simple fix, but I've yet to find it. Any suggestions on keeping the text view the same (reasonably small) when replying to an email?

Thx in advance!!

1. My default calendar view is on the weekly setting. I'd like to see just "today's" appointments by default.

A thousand times, thanks!

Outlook 2007 in the computer of one of the users in my company cannot view or edit a shared calendar. When I try to open the calendar it pops-up an alert that says "You do not have permission to view this calendar"

It doesn't seem to be a rights or permission issue, because when she access using her account information in another computer, she is able to view and edit the calendars. Some of the other computers have Outlook 2007 as well, so I'm wondering if there is a setting or an extra step that I need to configure in Outlook 2007 in order to access those calendars?

Is there anyway to change what view comes up when I open a report? My reports always comes up in Report View, and I'd like them to come up in Print Preview. Access 2000 did that, as I recall.

Hi all,

this is a follow up on my last thread on removing the info from showing on the print view of my report. I was able to do that using an if/else statement as OBP suggested (Thanks! ), but is it normal for the information to still show on my report view.

The code I used to remove it from the print view is as follow:

If IsNull (Me.[Employee_Email]) Then
Me.Label1.Visible = False
Else
Me.Label1.Visible = True
End If

Do I need to add anything else to the code to remove it from the report view as well. The information needs to show only when there is something to show and stay balnk otherwise.

Thanks for the help.

Have just about completed my test database in Access 2007 and am in the process of (1) securing DB tables etc to prevent corruption by users and (2) tidying up the display of data for users.

At present a form is displayed on Access startup for user input.
A Search button on the form calls a macro that executes a Search Query.
The Search Query results are output in datasheet view.
A Report is then generated based on the Search Query results.

I have a couple of questions:
(1) As a minimum, I would like to hide the datasheet view of the Search Query results from users how can this be achieved?
(2) Is there a more elegant way of getting from the input Form to the output Report or Form? I suspect the answer might be the use of the switchboard but I have only just started learning about the switchboard. Any pointers would be appreciated.

Aussibob

A:Access 2007 - Hiding datasheet view of Search Query results

Aussibob, it is a bit unusual for the query to display when you open a Report, so that suggests your macro is opening it first, which is unnecessary when opening a Report.
I have moved away from switchboards and use "Tabbed Mainforms" instead as there is a lot less opening and closing of Forms etc. A Switchboard only does what "Buttons" do anyway and even when I used to use them I would construct my own "Menus" using a form and buttons as it gives you much more control using VBA.
Depending on what your "Input" form does, ie if it is a Sign on form that you use the data for in the Query/Report you do not need a button to run the Report, you could use the After Update of the last entry field on the form to run the VBA instead of a button.

A:Issues importing large contact list in Excel 2007 to Outlook 2007

Hi hbsurfer

Try going about it backwards.
Create one Contact in Outlook 2007, then Export that one Contact to a .csv file.
Then you will be able to see the format Outlook 2007 is using and reconfigure your headers in the Excel spreadsheet.
When all headers match, you should be able to Import it. Or copy the excel information to the one contact .csv file and Import that.

Let us know if that works for you or not.

Already uninstalled and reinstalled Office 2007 Pro SP2, Project 2007 Standard and Visio 2007 Pro.
Rebuild indexing and again uninstalled Visio 2007 Pro. Mail Search working as long as Visio not installed.

I have Office 2007 on Windows 7.

When I am working on a sheet (or document) the ribbon can become inaccessible, nothing works when I click it (like a 'Not Responding' screen).

If, I switch to another open sheet/doc and then switch back the ribbon is accessible again!

I have uninstalled/reinstalled Office plus SP's twice but the problem persists, and, as is usually the case, this does not happen all the time but enough times for it to be really annoying!

Any ideas?

Thanks for your time on this

I recently deleted my colleague's distribution list. Fortunately I have another colleague who has the same distribution list on her PC . It is the same outlook 2007 on both PC . I followed the usual way of exporting and importing the csv file in both window and csv format . But I am still not able to get the distribution list on the deleted desktop ? What is the possible issue here ?

A:Importing Distribution list from Outlook 2007 to outlook 2007

The only advise I have is to give you incite into the cvs file.

It is the equivalent of a XML markup, but a file a programmer likes to deal with better. It's laid out in what is known as comma delimited formatting. That means, when the file is being read by a program, it stops at the comma's. Everything before the comma is the current entry. Everything after the comma is the next entry, and before etc. The read stops when no more commas are found, and the last entry is taken.

Comma delimited format should allow for the cross platform exchange. If it doesn't try using the XML format instead.

Hope I helped.

Ok so this probs isn't the ideal forum for Outlook and Exchange queries but I know theres many skilled technical people on here so posting on the off chance Anyway I run Outlook at work and I recently migrated from Exchange to Exchange I like to secure my email communication as much as possible and thus like to make use of the free Digital Signature obtainable Exchange Winmail.dat Outlook 2007, and S/MIME 2007, from Comodo Now my problem is when I send an email Outlook 2007, Exchange 2007, S/MIME and Winmail.dat signed with my digital signature a winmail dat file is attached to the message I have a few recipients that have their mail servers configured Outlook 2007, Exchange 2007, S/MIME and Winmail.dat to block dat file attachments Reading resources on the web it seems the winmail dat file is attached to RTF encoded messages However the winmail dat file is attached even when sending the message in plain text when also signing the message with my digital signature I know I can just decide not to sign the message to problem recipients but I never had this issue with Exchange so don't see why I should have to use this workaround Wake up Microsoft not everyone in the world is running Exchange server and Outlook clients Hopefully some email expert will come across this if not thanks for looking James

A:Making a mailing with Outlook 2007 from Excell 2007

Hello Fozzie,

I have some code which will do this with a little bit of tweaking. Can you give an idea on the layout of the information you have so I can write some code for you? Assuming you still have the issue of course.

Also there is one thing I can think of which could be an issue, when you use code to send email via Outlook there's security features which flag up the fact that Excel is trying to use Outlook to send an email and you have to click "Yes" before it sends it. This might flag up for each email the VBA tries to send when it's looping through the 500 names which may defeat the object for you.

Out of the blue I can no longer see the preview of my INBOX email messages.

When I click on each message, the TO/FROM/SUBJECT headers change in the preview box but the message body still refers to the very first message I received.

I have turned the reading pane off, changed it to bottom, right and back to bottom but nothing works.

I ran the Office 2007 install CD and used the REPAIR option but still no joy.

Have Googled the earth for an answer but seems to only be me who has the issue.

Forgot to mention that even when there is a message body showing, there appears to be a lot of flickering on what contents are shown that makes me think the compatibility view has an issue maybe as I mentioned above!

Also checked my security settings and they appear (?) OK, any help appreciated!

The problem is copies of each email coming into my inbox Problem started after I checked quot Leave a copy of messages on the server quot when I enabled a Blackberry for email using my email home account If I uncheck it one email arrives but then I don t get the email on the Blackberry I have - Outlook 2007 2007 Small Business worked through all the sources tech support people and the conclusion from all now is that it is an quot Outlook quot issue Outlook 2007 - Small Business 2007 The mitigating issue that visually ties it back to Outlook is that my Task view also shows copies of each task - and if I delete one all are deleted When Outlook 2007 - Small Business 2007 I view the quot Personal Folders - Outlook Today quot screen when it opens on startup there is only one copy of each task I click onto my inbox and the screen comes up with copies of each task in the sidebar The mutiple emails are creating big issues as many are parts of a thread and senders do not change the Header so I have to check Outlook 2007 - Small Business 2007 them all Is there an Outlook wizard abel to provide a fix for this nbsp

A:Outlook 2007 - Small Business 2007

Unless I'm missing the point here, th eanswer seems to be to revert tthat settings change you made to leave copies on the server. You only fail to see mail on the Blackberry because you've already received them on a PC or other device so why would you wish to see it again anyway?

Any mail you haven't received will show up on the first device that connects so when you're on the hoof with your Blackberry, make sure Outlook isn't open on your home PC and you will receive your mail on the mobile device.

Anoither method might be to set up another e-mail account, put it on the Blackberry only and have all your e-mails forwarded to that account. Then you have duplicates on both devices.

New Office 2007 installed on new Vista Ultimate 64 based system and decided to transfer settings from XP system. Unfortunately, can not get Cisco VPN running on Vista 64 system and when I try and run, Outlook, I get a:

Cannot open the Outlook window. The set of folders cannot be opend. Attemp to log on to Microsoft Exchange has failed.

Is there anyway to reset Outlook to a fresh clean start? I have re-loaded Office 2007 twice trying to clean off the old data so that I can manually set Outlook up with out it looking for Microsoft Exchange.

Any help would be appreciated.

A:Outlook 2007 will not load, cannot access folders

Couple of problems addressed:

1) once I realized that the Mail folder is in the 32 bit program folder in the Control Panel. It was easy to fix some of the links and push the Exchange email to come-up in Off-line mode. This is due to a lack of Cisco VPN service for Vista based systems.

2) Retested and investigated with IT department for either updated Cisco VPN software or ability to use Cisco's SSL VPN which we have implemented world wide. Neither work with Vista and Cisco's only response if for their customers to upgrade their systems to AnyConnect. As a global company, we will not be doing that soon so will need to use HTML version to access corporate email.

Considering the importance and size of the business community that uses Cisco VPN products and the perceived desire by MS to get Vista into that market, one would think that they would bend over to ensure their customers were serviced well by one of them not requiring a major over-haul of their VPN service!

If anyone finds a ways to work around the VPN issue, would be greatly appreciative.

Cheers

Bob

My son is joining the Navy in a couple of months.

He has Outlook 2007 installed on his laptop which is his primary means of email access. When he travels, he will not be able to take his laptop with him but will need to access his emails from various overseas locations.

His current service provider offers a very poor interface (low functionality) to Webmail and so we are looking at other options but wanting to keep his existing email address.

The solution I am looking at is for him to join a web based email service eg. Outlook.com and set a rule in Outlook on his laptop to forward copy of all emails to the Outlook.com address.

Am I overlooking anything or is there anything else We need to consider? Keen to hear what others have done in such cases.

Thanks for your input.

A:Have Outlook 2007 but will need Webmail access - advice please

For that approach to work you (or someone) would need to login with his Outlook account on his laptop so the emails get forwarded.
Is that what you are planning to do?

Can you setup forwarding on the ISP Webmail page?
That way the emails would be forwarded as soon as they are delivered to the ISP server.

Hello!

Here's the deal: I have this nifty contacts database in Access that is significantly more useful for my current situation at work than the address books in Outlook.

It's fine if I want to look up one person and send them an e-mail through Outlook, I just click on their e-mail address and I'm all set to go with a new message.

But what about entire groups of people? I have queries that are basically acting as mailing lists and I'd like to be able to choose one of those queries and send an e-mail to that entire group.

Is there a way to do this, without exporting the contacts and importing them into Outlook? I want to only have to update the database, not constantly update Outlook as well.

Thanks!

I often receive emails from my Pet Lover community that have images embedded in the body. I have a special email folder on my desktop into which I used to be able to download the pictures by selecting "view in browser" from my Outlook 2007 menu bar. I often use multiple applications at once, and prefer to view files in Normal (now Draft) view as this forces the text to the left-hand side of the screen, which enabled me to view my other applications on the right.
However using Word 2007, every time the file is reopened the view reverts back to Print Layout.
Is there a setting to change which will keep the view options the same even when the file is closed and reopened?

I'm using Word as a part of Office on an Acer tablet running Windows under view document 2007 Crashes Windows saving Layout Web when a with all the latest updates I mostly use Windows 2007 Crashes when saving a document under Web Layout view the tablet in portrait mode using the Hot Virtual Keyboard OSK I'm pretty happy with Windows 2007 Crashes when saving a document under Web Layout view the standard quot Print Layout quot view from a functional standpoint but I wanted to try the quot Web Layout quot view to see if this would circumvent a bug with the OSK that causes the word prediction list to disappear I'm about certain the Word problem itself is completely unrelated to the OSK Here's the issue Everything works fine when I'm using the quot Print Layout quot mode But when I switch to quot Web Layout quot and then try to save my document at any point after this including immediately after Word will crash with the following error quot Microsoft Office Word has stopped working Windows is checking for a solution to the problem quot Of course it does not find a solution I've run the Office Diagnostics and no problem has been found If I restart Word and let it do quot repairs quot to the document then I fall down a rabbit hole into further stranger problems If however I delete any quot repairs quot and just reopen the original document right back in quot Print Layout quot view everything is back to normal again I would very much like to be able to use the quot Web Layout quot view but of course right now I can't I don't even know where to begin in terms of trouble-shooting this issue so any help would really be appreciated

A:Windows 2007 Crashes when saving a document under Web Layout view

Unless you plan on publishing on-line, I never found much use for the Web Layout view. Just a guess, but maybe the prediction was never made to work with the combo of the on screen keyboard and the Web view. Hopefully someone who does this can either verify yes or no for the function.

My employer just upgraded to Microsoft Office 2007. According to the help files, I should be able to paste Excel charts into Word that update automatically when changes are made to either version.

I am clicking "Link to Excel data" and "Keep source formatting" when using the little popup clipboard to paste a chart into Word. But after closing both files, opening Excel and updating data on the chart, saving and closing Excel and re-opening Word, the chart is not updating with the new information. I can't get it to update by clicking on "refresh data" either.

Does anyone know how this is supposed to work? I was looking forward to being able to update just the Excel file and having it update in all the Word documents where it is pasted.

Our OS is Windows XP Professional, Version 2002, Service Pack 2. My work computer has a Pentium 4, 3 GHz processor and 2 GB of RAM.

Hello,

I am having difficulty linking Excel data from a simple worksheet table to a table in Word 2007. I would like to retain all the formatting currently used in the Word table, but can't get the Paste Options working at all despite following all the advice on the Microsoft Knowledge Base.

If I copy the Excel data and then place my cursor at the first cell location within the Word table where I want the information to be pasted I get different paste options compared to placing my cursor outside of the table.

I am using the "Medium Grid 3 - Accent 3" Table Style in Word.

I have attached a couple of simple files to demonstrate the formatting and content in both apps.
'
Step by step help would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Hello everyone,

I am printing letters on scrapbook paper which i will then cut out to make a banner. In order to do that correctly, the text needs to be a mirror image.

I cannot figure out how to do a mirror image of my text (within a text box) in Word or Publisher.

The flip horizontally button is available, but when i click it, nothing happens. Only the flip vertically button works, which is of no use to me.

I used the snipping tool which turned the text into an image. It worked but the sizes are off.

Please help.

I have a HP F4435 printer. The manual says there is a mirror image on button...which i dont have.

Please help!

Thank you!

I just put in a new hard reading 2003 folders Move not not 2007 from successful; Outlook to certain Outlook drive and installed the latest version of Office I kept the data and archive files from Outlook so I could import them into Outlook and get back to business However that did not happen It was able to read and bring up most of the data but I am missing some folders which are critical The critical folders are folders that were created manually They were used to store email messages that came in that were important They were simply dragged from the Inbox and put into that folder There were also folders within that folder I m not sure if these folders and subfolders were in the Inbox or not They may not have been The way I imported it was by going to TOOLS gt ACCOUNT SETTINGS gt DATA FILES tab gt and pointed to the old PST file I also pointed to the archive pst file as well but later went to FILE gt ARCHIVE and pointed to the Move from Outlook 2003 to Outlook 2007 not successful; not reading certain folders old archive pst file in there Bot ways did not reveal the folders that are needed Is Outlook not able to read all data from Outlook pst files or is there a fix for this Please advise nbsp

A:Move from Outlook 2003 to Outlook 2007 not successful; not reading certain folders

I purchased a new Notebook with Office 2007 installed and copied over my Outlook 2000 pst file. I also had manually created folders for filing important emails. Mine were sub folders within the Inbox folder. Everything copied over, but I could not see the manual folders at first until I double clicked the Inbox folder in the side panel and then they spilled out. I would look for them in that panel and double click anything there starting with Inbox, Sent etc. Also try doing a search for any subject or address of an email you may have saved.

When copying over the pst file I think everything is copied. Appears you did not just copy contacts for example, but the complete pst file. I think the folders are there as Sub Folders, just hidden within one of the main folders such as Inbox.

We've purchased a new laptop and are using Office 07 now, Windows XP, instead of the old office 03. Regarding Outlook, when I tried to save the old .pst file(Outlook 03) and then import old emails and contacts, the emails imported very easily into Outlook 07. However, none of the contacts were imported. Is there a simple way to export or save Outlook 2003 contacts to a file that can then be imported into Outlook 2007 on a separate computer??

Thanks

So far my searching has turned up confusing and non definitive info. In a nutshell... is it possible to seamlessly transfer ALL data? I've been able to import messages and account info into Outlook 2007/Win7 but can find no way of kluging either rules (rwz) or address (wab) info.

Also, if I understand correctly Outlook 2007 doesn't internally store addresses and Windows 7 no longer retains an address book core app for Outlook to draw from? I'm hoping this doesn't mean Windows Live Mail requires activation?

Any info appreciated!

Hi everyone,

At work we have outlook 2003 and I cannot upgrade that computer, at home I have recently upgraded to outlook 2007 but it left me with a little problem.

I use tasks to delegate jobs out to my team and I have it set up so categories are in fact their names. I used to send task requests with the name of the employee in the category section and when it arrived in the work inbox someone would accept the task and it would immediately go into that particular employees task category.

Now I have 2007 Outlook and although I have set categories up as they used to be (employee names) the task request gets accepted (at work) and instead of going under the employee name it goes into it's own category with no specific category.

Can anyone tell me (short of going back to outlook 2003) how to solve this issue?

Thanks

I have been using the beta version of Office 2007 til it expired last month and during that time exported a back up of Outlook (contacts, calendar etc) to My Docs.
Not all that fussed with the '07 Office suite, I uninstalled it and then reinstalled Office 2002 but when I try to import the pst file to this earlier version of Outlook, it tellss me that it is not compatible and to contact the Administrator (me!).

If I cannot work around this somehow I intend laying on the railway tracks quite shortly as life without my files will no longer have any meaning to me!

I guess as a last resort I can download the latest trial of 2007 Office and see if that will let me re-import the backed up pst file but what a drama!

We are using Exchange Server 2010.

Some staff are using Outlook 2007. They are creating calendars which need to be shared with other employees, most of which are running only Outlook 2003.

All Outlook 2003 users get an email with a link to Microsoft explaining how to open shared calendars. Off07 users get the icon to click and open specified calendar.

Outlook 2003 user then follows MS instructions, and pulls up the Outlook 2007 user's default calendar, then they get this message "Unable to display the folder. The Calendar folder could not be found".
