I work at a Account Outlook Multiple Access 2003 company employees and on one of our XP machines we run Microsoft Outlook We used to have it setup so when you started Outlook it prompted for a Username and Password and anyone could use their Exchange login to access their email After we reformatted the computer I can no longer get this to work It only lets me log on to a specific exchange account that I have setup in in the quot Email Account quot settings It still prompts for a username and password but only the account that is set up logs in It rejects any other login All of us work off the same server and the same Domain and it was extremely convenient that anyone could log on to their email from this machine How can i get this functionality back Is there a setting I am missing Essentially I want to be able to access any account on our internal exchange server one at a time not simultaneously without setting up each account individually Thanks nbsp

Outlook 2003 keeps popping up a message to enter my password when I have already entered my password. I can't clear this even when I uninstall Office and re-install it.

so it keeps asking you for your password? check your user name and make sure its correct. I had this happen and it only put my user name, not my email address. so maybe you need to enter your email addy, and the password to that email addy, then click "save this password" check box.

While trying to fix an issue with selecting text, I got a .cab error that has now been fixed.

However, now when I open Outlook, it is asking to establish a new email account, as if I am a first time user. i can't access the existing email account, and all of the emails, folders etc. An archive.pst file still exists and by the size appears to contain all emails, folders etc.

Does anyone know how I can locate and reinstate the existing email account to access the existing emails etc.?

If this is not possible, can a new account be established and the existing emails, folders etc. in the archive .pst file imported?

hi, I have set two email accounts in Outlook 2003, and configured them (i made rules) so that there are two email account folders, and the email for account A goes into the INBOX under A and B goes into B. However, I have not been able to get them to do the same for the other folders (like OUTBOX, DRAFTS, SENT ITEMS, etc). Is there any way to do that?

I am in the process of transferring an account from one computer to another, both have outlook 2003 on them. When I try to access the new computer with it, it tries to connect to an exchange 2003 server. It doesn't allow me to open up the program unless it has a connection, and it is asking for office.ost on the new computer. I tried locating the file on the other computer and it is not in the same location. The computers are linked up to login to a server where their my documents folder is located. Is there a way to transfer from one outlook 2003 to another on 2 different computers?

Also, both computers are xp highest service pack on them, and the server they are connecting to is a microsoft server 2003.

What are the pro's/con's of converting my offline email account to an online account? It seems like I tried this once before when I received a new smartphone but it caused lots of issues with duplicated calendar and contact entries or something of the sort. I work in the field and therefore don't always have connectivity. Thanks in advance.

I have multiple email accounts download into my Inbox folder; each email account has its own unique name under Account Settings. When I try to "Sort by Email Account," the groupings are correct (i.e. each group represents one account); however, the grouping title is says the same name for all of them.

Any idea what's causing this and how to fix it?

Are the e-mail accounts subaccounts of one ISP or each a different domain as in:
1) a Gmail account
2) your own ISP account
3) and maybe another free account like ?

You mention each account has its own unique name under Account Settings. Does this mean the accounts do not have their own unique name listed under the E-mail Account Header column?

In Oulook 2003, I have multiple mail accounts, but sometimes I want to "freeze" a certain account and put it on hold. I don't want to delete it, just to make sure that Outlook does not check that account now (because all my mailing lists go to that account and I don't want to have to download 1B messages after vacation, only what's important to me at that time). Is that possible? how?

I'm using Outlook 2003 and Windows xp professional. Ever since I was required to install Outlook Connector to connect Outlook with my hotmail account, I've had connecting issues. Most of the time I get them worked out, but this time I can't. I've tried reinstalling Outlook Connector and removing and then adding again my email account to Outlook. When I try to connect, there is a red X in the lower right window of Outlook and it says
Mail: error
Calendar: error
Contact: connected

The thing is, when I created a new hotmail account (and a gmail account for that matter) I was able to easily connect both of them to Outlook without problem- it is only this original email account that will not connect. Please help if you can!

I've seen some posts with similar issues here; however none of them seem to address my problem exactly.

Here is what happens.

When I change my default EM account under 'Tools, E-mail accounts' it accepts the changes. However, in reality it keeps the old default and always reverts back. The only way to set a new default EM account is to delete the old one.

However, as soon as I add the deleted account once again; immediately Outlook reverts back once again.
Anything to be done? Or do I have to delete the profile and start from scratch?

All the sudden I have five calendars in Outlook 2003: 3 show up as "Calendar (4)" with the "4" in blue; one as Calendar (backup); and one as Backup Calendar. Each has a check box to the left. If I click all three "Calendar (4)" three calendars appear in different colors with two of them showing the same information and the third showing the information I know to be correct but often duplicating recurring items like birthdays. I've tried dragging and dropping the two "bad" ones into the "good" one to no avail. How do I end up with a single calendar and a single back up? The Plaxo calendar deduper does not work across different calendars. Thanks for your help!

I have a 4 email accounts with the wanadoo isp. One for each of us in the family me being the main . We all have our own user id's on xp. How do i set it up so we can all use outlook to send and receive just our own emails in our individual xp user names?

I think you'll find that you will each have to set up 'Outlook' in your own profiles...
If i open 'Outlook' in another family members profile, none of my email address's are there.
If you set the incoming and outgoing servers for each family member, in their own profile... they'll be able to send and recieve thier own emails from their own account.
As the email address's are with the same provider.... the pop and smtp settings will be the same for everyone.. just the login name and email address will be different.

I'm probably not in the right forum, but this concerns Office 2003's Outlook (not OE) for my business needs. Is it possible to have two different shortcuts to Outlook with different default page setups, specifically fonts? If there's another way to set up a blank form that I can use, that would be OK as well. I just get really tired of pasting a document originally written in Arial (a proportional font) into my default Outlook 2003 form that uses Courier. The reason I use courier is that a majority of the documents I send are formlike with columns of numbers which don't do well in proportional fonts!

Any help would be appreciated.

We are trying to setup two email accounts for each user in our office using Outlook 2003. One account is a basic POP3, and the other is using Windows Server 2003's POP3 Service to use as an intraoffice account. The problem occurs when sending. If the webmail account is set as the default, any intraoffice email won't send. And, if the intraoffice account is set as the default, webmail won't send. I know the problem must be with the default account's SMTP. I was wondering if Outlook can determine what SMTP to use depending on the recipient's email address. I hope that makes sense. THANKS!!

I would like to setup a computer with Outlook 2003 so that the computer can be logged into our LAN (windows environment) as anyone but when they select their Outlook profile it will not open without their login credentials. We had this setup in previous versions of Outlook but can't figure out how to do this in Outlook 2003.

If I try to change the settings of an existing IMAP email account, or to click on "More settings", I get the error message: "The requested operation failed"

That's the case with all my IMAP accounts, but not with POP accounts. The problem is still there after a reboot.

This is with Vista. I never had this problem with XP. Have you experienced that?

I am unable to create a new email account in Outlook.

When I click on Add email account and click next , the screen where it says to select the server type. ALL the options are disabled. I cannot select any server.

We have an Access application that holds employees' table. When new employee comes, the email stating the name of a new employee and the link to this Access app. being sent to a supervisor. When supervisor starts the app, it opens the list of all new employees for a supervisor to choose from.
What my boss wants is, that access will open a new employee record by itself, depending on the name from the email. In other words, he wants to open the specific record by the link from email.

Is it possible to do this?

I've got two user account in my home computer. One administrator account and the other a limited account. I (comp. adm.) installed Microsoft Office Prof. 2003. It can't be accessed by the users of the limited account. There appears a dialog box to install Office. If I switch the limited account to Comp. adm., they can access Office.

Question: Is there a way to access it using the limited account?

I need to be able to save 50+ messages. File - Saveas on one message gives me the option to do file as type *.msg which works fine. However, when choosing several messages and doing File - Save As, only get the option to save as a *.txt which then loses all the formatting of the message, plus any attachments etc.

Is there a better/other way of saving many messages to an explorer folder which will keep all the formatting etc in tact.

I have multiple pop3 accounts that I use. When a email comes in that I want to reply to, Outlook selects my default account to send the reply, so I have to remember to manually change the send from account to my selection, if it isn't the default. One would think that the reply should, by default, come from the account that received the message. Does anyone know of a way to force Outlook to perfom that behavior?

I have one computer with 3 different Windows XP users.

I would like to share one email account and all contacts between all 3 users under Outlook 2003. I realize that Microsoft would prefer me to use Exchange, but this is a small not-for-profit youth organization and we don't have that kind of budget.

Is there any easy way to do this? The email users are absolute novices, so it needs to be a completely transparent way of sharing without them manually having to import or export anything. They open Outlook 2003 and BAM - all the contacts and emails are there.

I have tried this with Outlook Express, but they really need to use Outlook because of fax integration.

Ok, I've got an intresting problem.

I've got two domains for seperate things. I also have my normal e-mail address from my ISP. Its set up that all my e-mails get forwaded to one account.

[email protected] -- also forwards to-- [email protected]

So I've got everything set up to recive things properly, how can I make it so I can choose what Account I want to send from.

I do this with my Outlook XP and the only way I have found to send to a different account is to go in and change it to the default account in Outlook. Then after sending, I change it back. I'm sure there is an easier way, so I will be actively following this thread as well.

I use Outlook 2003. I get multiple (sometimes as many as 8 or 10) copies of most e-mail messages. This is not the problem that some people have had where they delete the e-mails and then those same messages appear next time they download their mail. I get the multiple copies of new messages. I've tried turning off my virus protection but that makes no difference. Thanks for any help.

Hey Everyone,

Heres the problem, I have a manager with six POP3 mail accounts, three of which are shared with two other users on the network. These accounts leave emails on the server for up to 14 days so that the three users can download all of the emails.

Two of the three users are having issues where they are redownloading all the messages left on the server, as far as 14 days back and somtimes even up to a year!!!. Through my searches I have found that SP1 for MSO2K3 is suppose to fix this issue.

Both users having these issues already have this update installed and the problem persists.

Can anyone give me some insight as to what is going on here?

All machines involved are running Windows XP Professional with SP2 installed.

I'm a girl developer and this is my first actual experience in VBA. Here's my problem:

I am required to make an employee database where i can retrieve records by using just a part of an employee name. But of course, Access will only show the first record that matches my criteria. So how can I display all records that matches the criteria to a form so I can select the record I want to view? Thanks for the incoming help guys.

Pixie, welcome to the Forum.
There are 2 basic methods for doing what you want.
1. Use a Query which use the Like function and use the query to populate a form.
2. Use the Form's Filter Property and the Like function to "filter" the records to only show the matching names. You will need a Filter Off button as well to re-show all the records.

PS you normally get quicker responses to Access/Excel questions on the Business Applications forum.

I have over 200 emails I need to print in Outlook, however, when I select all, it gives me this error:

"One or more of the items you tried to print does not support printing and did not print."

I can print each on individually from the same preview pane, but I have a
task at hand where I need to print some 200 messages. I even narrowed it down by attempting to take 5-6 at a time to see if there is an isolated error, but it still gives me the error message on many different variations I try when selecting multiples. Again, I can print each individually, but not by selecting all at one time.

Any Ideas??!!?? Please Help!

Hi guys,

I have Outlook 2003 with the latest SP2 update. My .pst file is less than 2 gig (though that shouldn't matter because Outlook 2003 can handle .pst files much larger). I have it set to IMAP, yet I still get emails coming in multiple times - not on every send/receive, but many of them. I have no rules, the emails come straight to my inbox. POP3 is not an option because I have a blackberry also. Please advise, I can not think of anything to do.

I'm using Outlook 2003 and have created hundreds of folders to deal with my incoming and sent mail. Sometimes I'll end up saving emails on the same topic in different folders and sub-folders.

When I want to locate all the emails on a single topic I'll initiate a search through my Inbox and tick the 'search in sub-folders' box as well. The search facility will find them all, OK. The output however is a single list of hits under the parent folder's name.

What I want is for the output to tell me precisely which sub-folder contained which email.

Is there a search or output sort option (or add-on) that will do this for me?

(Hope this makes sense as this is my first post!)

You can add a new column Header called: In Folder
Right click the column headers and select: Field Chooser, a tiny window will appear.
Click the drop down arrow and select the All Mail fields scroll down to In Folder grab it with the mouse and drag and drop it to the column header.

When you run a Search you should be able to view the folder containing the message and sort by that field as well.

That column header should, already, be included when using the Search Folders or creating new search criteria folders under Search Folders.
Let us know if that works for you or not.

We regularly receive multiple attachments via email, when we try and print all of the attachments it doesn't work. We have ticked the box that says Print attached files. Has anyone else had this problem before and if so what was the resolution. Operating system is Windows XP SP3, Outlook 2003 SP3

I am trying to import my email accounts & settings to the way they were before I did a custom install of Windows 7. For the life of me, I can't figure this out. I tried to follow tutorials and nothing seems to work.

My situation is different also because I have 8 POP email accounts. Do I have to enter the email account information back in or can moving the .pst files do this?

Is it possible to create a field in MS Access 2003 that will allow a user to select multiple options?

For example I want to create a filed called "Reason for Change" that has the following values: Customer Request, Quality, Safety and Legal, Supplier Request, Engineering, Cost Savings, Other, and System Integration. I have a table that includes a column for quot Date of Death quot In many cases the date is either unknown or only partially known I created another column entitled quot Date of Death quot DOD is mm dd yyyy and DOD is text I copy and pasted all the data from DOD to DOD and DOD returned a listing of all of the data it could recognize as dates in proper mm dd yyyy format I m about to convert DOD to text so that I can then fill in the remaining missing data i e quot quot quot quot quot Mar quot quot Apr quot etc The point is to convert everything to a more uniform condensed format because some dates were listed as quot February th quot and some as quot Nov quot and some as quot aug quot etc By filtering I can easily sort out all the dates in DOD that are year only quot yyyy quot however the only way it seems to transfer the remaining data from DOD to DOD is to type it in manually as I cannot copy and paste multiple cells by highlighting or using CTRL or SHIFT other than to highlight the entire column Total of about records roughly more dates to transfer and roughly a half dozen in and Copy multiple paste 2003 cells access more columns to repeat this process Date of Birth Date of Burial Date of Purchase etc After that is all said and done I will need a way to sort according to date given that not all of the information is known and that thousands of Copy and paste multiple cells in access 2003 entries are going to be year only and hundreds will contain the character quot quot Any Copy and paste multiple cells in access 2003 help nbsp

We use Outlook 2003 on an exchange server. We operate a few different companies have multiple email addresses that come into our inbox. Is there a way to choose which email address we can send email from? We have a "main" email address which is our default but we would like to be able to send an email from another address on occasion from the same inbox - is that possible? If so how do we set it up?

A:Outlook 2003 - ability to sending from multiple email addresses

Anytime you send e-mail from Outlook, you can select which one of your linked accounts from which to send the message. by clicking on the "Accounts" button in the Message window. However, the account must first be linked to Outlook for each/any user who will need to send mail from this account. I'm not on an Exchange Server, so I can't say for sure, but I don't think you can link more than one Exchange account to each user (so, since you undoubtedly have your own Exchange e-mail account, you wouldn't be able to add another).

The appropriate workaround kind of depends on how your mail is hosted and how adept your Exchange Administrator is. If your mail comes through an outside webmail account anyway, then take Exchange out of the equation and just add a new account to your Outlook, using the webmail credentials to log directly into your webmail server. If all the mail HAS to go in and out through the Exchange server, then you could create a separate Windows account for each of the e-mail addresses and just log into the appropriate account when you need to send through that account.

I think there may also be some options in Exchange (at the server level) that might allow you to manually assign addresses, based on rules, but it's been a long time since I did any Exchange admin, and I never did all that much to begin with. Hopefully, somebody will jump in here with more definitive answers.

First, outlook is a good tool, but a poor choice for email. Consider using other software
such as Thunderbird.

All the data in Outlook (Calendar, Contacts, Tasks, and Email) is held in the single .PST file for each user;
the bigger it gets, the more time and cpu it takes to get into it.

As for the errors, it would appear that the settings are wrong.
The pop3 stuff is for reading your email from the ISP and the smtp is for sending;
each can be correct / incorrect.
You need the pop3 domain name (something like or
the correct port number (usually 110), AND
the proper login (secured or unsecured).

The sending side almost always requires a secured login on port 25.

I am trying to match two fields in two different tables.

Table 1:
Account #1 | Name #1 | Days #1
Account #2 | Name #2 | Days #2

Table 2:

Now when I match on Account #, I get:

Is there a way I can eliminate double entries of Days #1? My end goal is to sum up all the days (Days #1 + Days #2...+ Days #n). Currently, there are duplicates in this field.

I recently just added an additional e-mail account to access through Outlook 2002, but there are no folders under "Folder List" that are associated with the e-mail account. For example, when I set up Outlook to access my Hotmail account, it automatically created an Outlook Shortcut and that folders (Inbox, Deleted Items, Junk Mail and so forth). I have not been able to figure out how to add these yet. The account is set up correctly and tested out just fine. TIA for any help or ideas.

Lately every time I reboot and launch Outlook 2003 I get a message saying "the File "Archive" was not closed properly - checking for problems" which takes about 45 minutes because my .pst is obviously huge (7+ gb).

Now, I need to access an email in the archive folder and I can't get in. The message says:

"Unable to expand the folder. Another application closed unexpectedly while using your Personal Folders file C:\\.... To prevent potential will not be available until you close all applications using it."

I don't know what other applications could be using it, I only have Outlook at Firefox open.

I need to restore, copy, bring over, what ever you want to call it, but I need access to all of my personal folders and email that was left on my computer when I changed over to Windows 7. I successfully completed a Windows 7 Clean install after backing up my hard drive on to an external 250 gig flash (G). I also know and found that Windows 7 created a ?Windows old? file on my hard drive, that also houses my Outlook 2003 backup (As I use the PST Backup utility).
I thought I could just copy the outlook file, rename the file (OutlookXPEmail) and place it in the Windows 7 Outlook file. See attached. But what do I do now? I am still running Outlook 2003, the same program that I was using when I was running XP. Can anyone help me?

The user is running Windows XP with Access 97 and Outlook 2003. The macro that she is trying to run simply saves a form and uses sendobject to send a report as an attachment to an email message.

This macro had been working for her for months, last week it would create messages but not attach any file. She rebooted which fixed the problem for a day, now it's back and I can't seem to find out why. The problem is on just her machine, and an identical macro (save the report name and where it's called from) works just fine.

I tried deleting her temp files in Windows\Temp and Local Settings, but it didn't fix the issue. I've found Knowledgebase articles dealing with similar issues, but most of them are using Lotus.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

So far I've uninstalled and reinstalled office on her machine, given her full file folder and registry permissions to Office, and deleted and recreated her mail profile. I also ran a search for .rtf files on her computer, hoping to find where they're stored temporarily, but got only known documents.

Today I opened my laptop, I tried to open my Outlook and it prompted me for a password (it never did that before). I restarted my laptop , and after the restart I lost all my desktop icons (I now have on desktop some icons I never had before), all my taskbar quick access icons and when I tried to open Outlook it prompted me to configure it as if I didn't have an account configured.

If you are wanting to use VBA to send an email that is pre-formatted you can simple create your email manually and then save it as a template file (.otf) You can then use the Application.CreateItemFromTemplate method to call the template file to be sent using VBA

On the Menu toolbar, Click Tools > Options

At the top there will be a drop down arrow for: Show this Address list first:
Click the drop down arrow and select the Contacts list that you want to appear when selecting the To: field.
Apply, OK to save and close.​
Close the Address Book.
Reopen the Address Book.
The preferred Contacts list should now appear as the default.

Start a new message to test.

   Working with a client who wishes to have a laptop usable by both staff and management at his restaurant. He wants the management to have an unrestricted Administrator account, but wants the staff to have a restricted user account such that they

I seem to be having a couple issues regarding Outlook.

First, when I get to the home page to log in I get a message that says "There has been an error removing certificates from this workstation. Error (0X80070005): Access is denied.

Once I've logged in, I try to reply to my email and Explorer shuts down, then restarts.

If unchecked, place a check mark in: Show this folder as an e-mail Address Book

If I upgrade only the Outlook part of my Office 2003 installation to Outlook 2010 will the "Ribbon" style menu of Outlook 2010 be installed in my remaining Office 2003 menus?

I accept that at some point I will probably have to get to grips with the "Ribbon" style menus introduced initially in Office 2007. However, for the time being I would prefer to keep the classic menu layouts in Access 2003 and Excel 2003.

Both tables have different headings/fields for each column but similar data. I would like to get the data from the Client Data table into the Demographic table and correct for the mismatched column headings so that Client Data is correct in Demographic.

Would someone be willing to help me step-by-step so that I can merge these 2 tables AND have the data correctly aligned in the Demographic table?

I just realized that I am unable to access my other users accounts (which are limited) desktops. I use documents and settings folder to get there, but I get this error:

"C:\Documents and Setting\Natalie and Dave\Desktop

Access is denied."

I can access the other limited account, but just not "Natalie and Dave's" desktop. I don't know why either, I am the only administrator account and I am able to access one of two limited accounts desktop.

Is there anything I can do, besides removing the account? Thanks!

You can try taking ownership if you're really an administrator.
I don't know what effect that will have when Natalie and Dave try to log in though (if they'll have permission to access their own Desktop that is).
The other possibility is corruption in the file system. If that's the case, run chkdsk /f from the command line (click start, (all) programs, accessories, command prompt, and type chkdsk /f press y and then reboot). When it reboots it will run the disk check, then reboot again. You can see the results of the chkdsk in your event viewer. (control panel (classic view), administrative tools, event viewer, application log, and look for events named winlogon).

I have a set of folder I encrypted from my user account. I haven't figured out how to access them from my admin account.

In reverse, while logged on my admin account, I droppped some files into folder encrypted by my user account. I can't access those files when I log on as a user.

How can I get access to all my encrypted files regardless of which logon I use?

Can't sync iPas/iPod with Outlook

I have an iPad 2 and Outlook 2003. Outlook won't sync with my iPad..

However, they will sync on another computer. Then I can clear the iPad calendar and then sync to main computer but the old calendar info syncs.

Outlook/ my computer seem to be holding on to the old calendar info in some kind of cache.

Any ideas?

Using Outlook 2003, Part of MS Office Professional Edition 2003, which has the capability of having multiple, separate & complete email addresses, each functioning in their own profile.

E.g. I open Outlook and it gives me a drop-down box to choose which email I want to go to, say email1 or email2.

Email1 has 2 "Contacts" areas defined.
1st problem is how to combine and synch these two. I don't want two.

Email2 as 1 "Contacts" area.
2nd problem is to combine the contacts from Email1 with Email2.

I thought these were *.pab files, but a search for *.pab comes up empty.
I do find multiple *.pst files

Any suggestions?

When i access a system which is having windows xp professional as an operating system and it is in workgroup it is going to guest account and asking the guest password but there is an option in which if we change and when we try to access the same system it will ask the user name and password instead of going to guest account.

So do anyone have an idea about that option. Please let me know it is very much needed to me.

Not sure I understand your question or problem. Maybe this info will help.

If you are using Simple File Sharing (Control Panel - Folder Options - View tab - Use simple file sharing) it should quietly use the network guest account for access and there should be no prompt. If there is the system has a problem.

If you are using Advanced File Sharing (not using Simple File Sharing) you should get the prompt for a regular account/password.

I have a laser jet printer HP 2015. If i print email recd. with excel embedded cells in Landscape mode from a XP OS / Outlook 2003 / Excel 2003, the contents are fully printed.

But if i print the same email in landscape mode from Windows Vista / Windows 7 / Outlook 2003 / Excel 2003, the contents are not printed in full, i.e the last 3 to 4 columns of excel embedded cells are not printed.

For the past two weeks I have noticed that hyperlinks placed in email I am sending are being stripped by Outlook. I use Word 2003 as the email editor. I can write an email, insert (or have automatically convered) emails but if I either send or save those emails, the hyperlinks are removed. The problem does not occur if I use Outlook's email editor.

I have made no setting changes on my system, except moving from XPSP2 beta to XPSP2 Final.

This issue has been driving me crazy for weeks now Outlook Not / Exchange Rules 2003 / Running 2003 OS is XP Pro SP I work for a large ISP here in Atlanta We get e-mails from vendors peers customers internal departments etc all the time I have to keep them in separate personal folders so I can easily sort them and because we have very limited mailbox space on the Exchange server Outlook 2003 / Exchange 2003 / Rules Not Running I Outlook 2003 / Exchange 2003 / Rules Not Running easily get e-mails a day I currently have rules setup The first are server side rules deleting a lot of crap that I just don t need Those server side rules run just fine automatically The other rules are client side because they are the ones moving e-mails to personal folders The first two work fine automatically They are Code Apply this rule after the message arrives with XXX in the subject move it to the XXX folder and stop processing more rules and Code Apply this rule after the message arrives with XXX in the recipient's address move it to the XXX folder and stop processing more rules quot XXX quot being work related terms addresses however none of the rest of the rules will run automatically If I run them manually they work just fine The next rule after the two above is Code Apply this rule after the message arrives with 'Read ' or 'read ' in the subject move it to the B U Read Receipts U B folder and stop processing more rules and so on and so forth Every rule has the quot and stop processing more rules quot on the end Now I can go through and delete them all and start adding them in again and they ll run automatically just fine for a while Then just stop and start behaving like above I m aware of the k rule limit I ve kept the name of the rules small and tried to make them as efficient as possible I don t think I ve hit the k limit I didn t get any error message when saving rules Why are the last not running automatically Hope someone can help nbsp

I want to push specific data from a selected contact in Outlook 2003 to a predefined Excel 2003 spreadsheet. The scenario is that I want a naive user to enter data into a new contact in outlook be able to push a button and insert that data into a quotation that exists as a excel file. The data that I am interested in moving includes.

First name
Last Name
Address Fields
Telephone Number

I have already created the spreadsheet based Quotation form in a file called Quote.xls. I have not named the individual cells at present just having the Name in Cell B1 The company in B2 and the address fields in B3 to B7.

I have done some macro and VBA programming in Excel, but have little or no experience in using Outlook macros.

Any help/suggestions/solutions gratefully received.

It's a good idea to do this periodicaly, even if you have Automatic Updates checked, because there may be hardware drivers on your system that need updated. Automatic updates will give you both Office and Critical updates for your computer, but not Hardware updated.s.

I am at a users desk as we speak. Using Outlook 2003.

When I sent an email to myself or anyone in the GAL for that matter, the email remains in the outbox for 30 secs plus. If I click another folder the email sends immediately. If do not click on a folder it can take up to the before mentioned 30 secs plus.

I have checked DNS/WINS, and all are correct.

Any ideas?

This appears to be a common problem, with many solutions, though I have yet to find one that works for me. When using Outlook 2003 with Word 2003 set to be the email editor, Word opens and works fine to CREATE a new email. However, when trying to REPLY TO or FORWARD an email, I get the error message "Microsoft Word is set to be your email editor. However, Word is unavailable, not installed, or is not the same version as Outlook. The outlook email editor will be used instead...," and when I click OK to that message the native Outlook email editor opens. Word 2003 worked fine with Outlook 2003 replying to or forwarding emails till this morning, but the behavior described above now applies. The OS, by the way, is Windows 10. I have tried to both "repair" and "reinstall" the 2003 Office 2003 suite, both to no avail. Would appreciate a much needed solution to this puzzle.

Administrator account is not for general usage, and NOT your own account.
Administrator account required password to access.
Usually, no one use Administrator account.
Do note the differences between "Administrator" account and "admin" rights.
Administrator account have full rights to anything and everything.
"Admin" rights is just act as administrator and is not an account.

As the 1st newly create account (mainly your own account) may have that admin rights.
With admin rights, you are accessible to create accounts for other users.

Also for guest account, by default have no password.
Guest account is always available, but need to initiate it for use, and no password is needed.

If you create guest account, it will not be a guest account, and this will be another user account, but the name "Guest" may conflict with the system created "Guest" account.

In conclusion, you may started the wrong way.

So, if your had manually create an Guest account with password, it is not a guest account at all.
But an user account with the name "Guest".
When you activated the Guest account, there will not be any password.

Weird issue here. WHen I have an Excel spreadsheet open at the same time as Outlook, I try to copy and paste a portion of the spreadsheet to a new Outlook message. But as soon as I click on "New Mail Message"....Outlook stays open, but Excel closes immediately and what I copied to the clipboard isn't there any more.
I tried this on a second computer and it seems to work fine.
Any ideas on why this is happening on this one computer?

Have you change from XP to Vista or a later version of Windows? OS security changed the way things behave in the newer Windows operating systems.

Connecting to an open file isn't the best practice anyway. Forms are often linked to tables which is probably why closing the forms works for you. A possible solution, if its important to keep the database open, is to make a copy of the table thats desired for the merge and update the copy as needed.
