Creating an Outlook Rule for second email account

Q: Creating an Outlook Rule for second email account

I have two emails set up in outlook 2010.

I want to make a rule that any email sent from email B gets put into email B's sent folder. believe it or not this is not how it is set up by default.

In creating the rule these are the steps that leave me at a dead end:

Home Tab
Rules
manage rules & alerts
new rule...
Start from a blank rule: Apply rule on messages I send
NEXT
step one: check off 'through the specified account'
step two: click blue highlighted word 'specified' to bring up options
Account: A is the only option
Any help is appreciated.

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/directdownload.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

A: Creating an Outlook Rule for second email account

Assuming they are pop3 accounts, I'm 99% sure you'll only have the option to use one sent items folder. You can create a sub-folder within "Sent Items" for "Account B" and save a copy there.
If you can use IMAP instead, I'm pretty sure you can specify a separate folder without it also being duplicated.

I have an external hard disk of Samsung 650GB which got damaged when I was transferring some files to my pc through it. Now when I connect to any PC or Laptop it shows the safely remove icon but there is no letter assigned to it and also doesn't show up in My Computer though it can be seen in Disk Management.

I tried Mini Tool Partition Wizard but when I create a new partition it stops at 90%. I tried wiping out the partition but to no avail.

Is there any solution for it??? Please help.

A:Creating A New Partition Or Wiping A Partition On External Hard Disk Stuck

I would check the manufacturers site for a windows utility to low level format it. If you cannot find a utility to do that on manufacturer's site, then try this: http://hddguru.com/software/HDD-LLF-Low-Level-Format-Tool/ to wipe the drive. WARNING!! this will destroy all data on the selected hard drive!! be very careful when selecting a drive to wipe that you don't inadvertently select the wrong disk. After a low level format, unplug the drive, plug back in, windows should detect as a new, virgin, drive and it'll prompt you to format it. Format it and hopefully everything will be fine from here on out for you.

Post back, Hope this helps!!

Hello there, this is my first post here and I do appreciate if someone can help me in this scenario.

I have a DC running Windows server 2008 Standard in the HQ, I have a remote location connected to it through a VPN, some times the connection drops, and this prevent the remote location computers to log in, stops sharing, because there is no authentication from the DC anymore, so users must wait until the connection come alive again, I have a server in the remote location running windows server 2003, with some applications installed on.

what I want to do is to promote this 2003 server to be additional domain to help when the connection to the DC down.

my question is:
is it possible to promote windows server 2003 to be additional domain in server 2008 environment ? and if it is possible - how to do so?

thanks ...

I have an: DIXONH55ITX Socket 1156 Advent Firefly FP 3104 System Motherboard

I'm looking to upgrade for 2 main reasons.

1.) Upgrade my Ram, (as the limit of ram for this motherboard is 4gb.)
2.) More than 1 PCI-E slot. (There's only one on this motherboard.)

But my main question is:
What do I need to take into account when upgrading my Motherboard?
(Compatibility issues etc.)

Also any motherboard recommendations (under 200). As I'm planning on upgrading my computer to a gaming rig.

Any replies would be greatly appreciated.

A:What do I need to take into account when upgrading my motherboard?

Not quite understanding you. Are you wanting to keep all other parts and just upgrade mobo, ram and gpu?:

It sounds to me like you are wanting to build an entire new system. If so, give us a budget and what should be included (monitor, windows etc.).

Does the laptop come w/ a program to customize keyboard settings? Maybe that a look at that. My Logitech keyboard came w/ a program called Setpoint which allows me to choose what email program to open when the button is pressed. I had an eMachine keyboard w/ an email button that opens up the default email program. So that's something else to check. Maybe the computer forgot what the default email program is.

Hi!

First of all, I dont know if this is the right spot to ask about hosting, but since Techspot has helped me with a lot of computer related problems, I thought Id give it a try...

Anyways, Im about to buy a hosting plan from Hostgator, but I want to use one account to host at least 3 different sites (top domains, like firstpage.com, secondpage.com and thirdpage.com). I know the reselling account would be the most effective, but I dont need to have a different cPanel for each user.

Can this be done with a Baby plan? Im going to buy domain names from another company, but I guess that doesnt matter. Im new to all this hosting stuff, so any help will be appreciated.

Thanks

that's all up to the hosting site policies - - don't hold your breath.

the Apache2 web server does this with <VirtualHost: ipaddress:80>

I installed a d-link 2310 wireless router but did not see an option to create a password. The disk no longer works and I am not able create a password to keep neighbours from accessing and using my internet connection. Can you help?

A:Creating a D-Link password

forget the CD - - doesn't do squat for this issue.

1) access the router using your browsera) use only a wired connection'
the default address for Dlink is: http://192.168.0.1
the default user/pwd is: admin/ <leave it blank>
2)once inside, set a new Admin Password and save it. This will restart the router and disconnect you from it - - just log back in
3) now go set the WiFi SSID and encryption as required

I currentley have 2 300gb HDs set up in a RAID0 configeration on my Dell XPS420 running Windows Vista 32bit. i would like to create 2 partitions, one for the OS and one for my Music and Videos.

does anyone have a step by step guide/tutorial on how i can do this?

A:Creating a partition on RAID0

not a good idea - - raid0 is fragile as-is.

The right sequence is

start over
do the partitioning of the physical drive(s)
then initialize the raid-x on the appropriate partitions of your choice
format the remaining non-raid partitions
now load your data
On (3), make sure you use one partition per physical drive and don't allow the raid-x to be only one one HD - - kind of silly isn't it!

Hi all,

How can i create a partition which can be used as a reformat back up.
This is to avoid having to use a DVD ISO with windows 7.

The partition i am referring to is something laptops have where if they need to reformat they just reformat from the 'saved ISO OS image' in a permanent partition without having to insert a DVD with the OS data files.

So basically - how to save a permanent OS image on a partition which can be used to reformant the computer when booting up.

Hope someone can help, considering i may not have been too clear.

Thanks

Regards

A:Creating a permanent partiton with reformat ISO

Something like Norton Ghost and Acronis True Image would do this. You either need a partition on your boot drive (other than the boot partition) or space on another drive to store the image of your OS.

Right ok, I have a probably simple request, but its baffling me. I need to have my iPod and PC download emails. But I need it so that, if i delete an email of my iPod, it isn't there on my PC, and vice versa. But I need it too so that if I download the emails to my iPod, I can still access them on my PC.

I'm using a firefox extension called SimpleMail, that has options for POP3 and IMAP, and is useful and quick compared to thunderbird for me.

I've tried it, but just can't figure it out! A detailed step-by-step guide, would be HUGELY appreciated. Probably put this in the wrong section too, but its the best I could think off.

A:Email setup help needed, for iPod and PC!

Basicaly any email account with IMAP would be able to do that: Gmail, MobileMe & even Yahoo! offer such services.

Emails are available on all the machines using the IMAP account & even your replies are copied over to all the machines so you can still access them from another machine than the one where you wrote them from.

Microsoft help is not very clear on the fundamentals of networking, I assume they can't draw schematic diagrams, which would simplify the whole connection process

A:Creating WPA code on wireless network

The encryption and the method (WPA2, WPA, WEP) are enabled in the router and the passphrase is set there too.

the client systems need to use the WiFi Wizard to find your SSID and will prompt for the passphrase.

BE CERTAIN to use the wired connection to config ANY router settings

Hi I am a small business owner running laptops and a desktop pc one of the laptops is running xp although will hopefully upgrade it to vista soon I am looking to purchase a NAS device mostly for media sharing and syncronization between pc s but would like to be able to access my email accounts via outlook NAS email knowledge and lacking. although would consider another product with same basic functionality eg local storage tasks calendar etc I am using googlemail for all my NAS and email knowledge lacking. accounts I am aware that there are several NAS devices out there that let you connect and manage NAS and email knowledge lacking. files remotely over the internet It seems that to me that it should therefor be relatively simple to have all outlook or alternative files stored on a remotely accessible NAS to synchronize accross all pc s automatically on login hereby removing the need for an expensive hosted service such as MS exchange I have googled just about every variation I can think of to find the relevant information but to no avail I am fairly savvy for an unqualified home user but lack the deeper understanding of NAS and outlook to get through this one on my own If this is possible please give some advice on setup and the best hardware fro the job Lastly if the NAS doubled as a print server that would be cool too MAny thanks in advance for your help Best regards Don nbsp

A:NAS and email knowledge lacking.

NAS devices (Network Attached Storage) just attach to your LAN using the File Sharing,
Map Network Drives capability.

1) Internet access to one of YOUR LAN drives is a big security hole, so that's not the
right approach.

2) depending upon the software you use to send/receive, sharing email files can easily corrupt them and you lose everything.

If I wanted Internet access to my email, I would use a Webbased email solution
(like gmail), configure it to retain all down loaded email, and the use my pc
to access the gmail pop3 account.

when selected, click Required or Optional
repeat for all attendees
when done, click OK

Lots of valuable information in that file I'd like to access. I was able to create a new Outlook file in safe mode so I guess the program is OK.

It was suggested to me recently the cause may have been due to me having Microsoft Service Pack 1 at the time. I had not updated to Service Pak 2 (which I now believe has been updated to Service Pak 3). Has anyone had experience with this and, if so, do you think there's a chance that if I update my Service Pak that I might still have a chance of recovering the data I had in my original Outlook file?

Hello,

I'm older, as are my eyes, and the type in HTML emails is difficult to read. I changed Outlook 2003 to display everything as Text so I can enlarge using my scroll wheel but the tons of hyperlinks detract.

My Windows menus and Firefox are 14 point for easy reading but I can't find an Outlook setting that applies to HTML messages.

Your help will be appreciated.

Thanks

Anyone else run into this issue?

We have 4 seperate computers running on a wireless network here at work. Recently we started having an issue where we can access the internet through email, but we can't pull the internet up via a web browser (IE). We end up having to click on the "repair" connection button for windows wireless over and over and over until it actully allows us to access the internet via the browser.

Have you experienced this? What is it all about?

The Techspot FAQ

If you could take a minute to fill in some of your profile information that would be helpful to all members of the forum
Knowing someone's location in the world can be extremely helpful, even if you just put a country.

Also remember to post any problems or questions that you have in the appropriate forums

With regards to your problem, try restarting the router by unplugging it, waiting about 10 seconds then plugging it in again. Make sure that the settings are saved on it though otherwise you'll have to put them all in again.

P.s. this should be in Storage & Networking forum really but i expect a mod will move it for you

Why, when ever i try to add another RAM, my ethernet card (LAN card) settings disappear and it says new hardware found and starts installation of the LAN card (cannot locate the driver).
3COm EtherLink XL 10/100 PCI For complete Management NIC (3C905C-TX)

A:Adding RAM creating ethernet driver problem

Move your LAN card to another slot.
Or remove it until you have the memory detected and working properly.
Inspect the card for any thing loose... because it may have connector damage that makes the system think it just found the card... It can also be caused by a loose or defective cable nearby.

Alrighty I have a Creating a home network D-Link WBR- router which computers and gaming consoles connect to They can connect to the internet just fine but have no way of interacting with each other I d like to have a system going on here that makes it so you can print from a printer connected to another computer access that computer s Creating a home network files etc just through the network but have no idea how I d go about doing it I ve looked online but have no idea what to start looking for Ideally I d like to have a system going on where all computer share the same domain or workgroup Whichever its called computers are running XP Home edition and mine is XP Professional edition Sadly I m the router s admin as I know most about the stuff the getting people connected to the internet and whatnot but I d really like to have a real network going on here Any ideas Thanks nbsp

A:Creating a home network

The reason that they cannot 'see' each other is probably because they are not signing on to the same network.
To do this, go to Control Panel, System and select the Computer name tag. change the workgroup name to whatever you like as long as it is the same on all machines. Reboot them all as prompted and it should work.
You then need to share the resource on each machine that you want the other PCs to access - printers and folders. Then you can access them from the other machines and install printers or map drives as you need.

I have over 50 computers most which are under a workgroup with access to the internet. This is becoming a problem as more computers are being added to the workgroup. Thus, I decided to implement all PCs into one domain. I ordered some books/videos to help me plan this out. Meanwhile, as I wait for these to arrive, I was hoping you knowledgeable and experienced users here at TechSpot could help me. I have purchased Windows Server 2000 & an Exchange Server.

Primary Goals

1. Access any computer on the network via Remote Desktop Connection
2. Perform remote installations across the network using RIS (Remote Installation Services)
3. Perhaps use SysPrep (Is there a better method?) to clone computers already setup with all programs installed.

A:Creating a Domain

You will have to implement Active Directory and setup users/passwords and optionally groups. When you install Windows server you will be asked what role you want the server to take and at this point is where you set up your domain. You can also promote it later if you decide to make it a stand alone server. You dont need a domain to do the things you mentioned.. As for the remote access look at logmein.com, it free/cheap and works great.. For the remote installations there are a number of products that do that.. As for the cloning of computers that would work if you have all the same hardware.. I would recommend Acronis True Image.. Domains offer greatly increased security and if thats what you need, great..

I have two networked computers that are both running windows vista. I share my internet connection by connecting my dsl modem to my wireless router. One of my computers connects to the router with an ethernet cable and the other wirelessly. The internet and lan work fine, but I want to be able have both computers connect to the internet through the router but not to each other. Is there any way I can prevent the computers from creating a lan with each other but still allow both to access the internet?

A:Sharing Internet on router without creating lan

No, but you can configure the computers so that they are not talking to each other. That's basic network security and you should have done that already.

(You could get two more routers and put these in front of each computer, but that would be just silly.)

A:email conflict in msn

Hi Twinkletla1 and welcome to the TS Forum

You dont say what email provider you have, if its with an ISP or with one such as MSN hotmail, Your thread title mentions MSN so I'll hazard a guess that she either hasnt used in for more than once in 30 days and as such the account has been shut down, this is to prevent unused accounts cluttering up the MSN server and filling with junk mail.

To keep a hotmail account active you have to login regularly, about once a fortnight at least.

If its another provider than please post back and let us know.

Whilst your here could you do me the honour of reading the threads below It will help to make your Techspot experience a more pleasurable one.

Someone suggested that I save these emails as a 'eml' insted of a 'txt'.

I have no idea what this means and even less of an idea of how to do it.

Can anyone help?....

I am encountering a bizarre issue synchronizing a Motorola Q to our in-house Exchange server. Topically, everything is working as expected. The problem at hand is, at seemingly random intervals, the Outlook inbox as well as the Q Outlook inbox randomly marks all messages as read; as would be expected, this is creating havoc in matters of scheduling, &c. I have searched all of the Outlook settings, as well as all available Outlook-related options on the Q to no avail. Has anyone had any experience with these phones or any such synchronization issues? Outlook 2003 is completely updated; I am not sure about the version of the Q's firmware, but would assume, considering the phone is new, that it is probably the latest version....

Any ideas?

Shane

ok i have 2 computers that both have wireless one a Belkin pci card and the other a usb linksys wireless network adapter, id like to get the computers to recognize each other but not lose connection to the main router is this possible?

A:creating a network

This is print/file sharing(PFS). Once ALL systems have internet access AND
each one can ping the other (run->cmd /k ping $others-ip-address),
then it's a matter of seting up PFS.

Hi everyone can and routers a static port ip with two creating forwarding you help I ve been meaning to reconfigure my routers and computers to create static IPs and therefore allow port forwarding properly I ve tried and tried and I ve failed can anyone help I ve got the following Broadband creating a static ip and port forwarding with two routers modem Linksys RT P VOIP router Linksys WRT G router I have two computers hardwired to the wrt g and I also creating a static ip and port forwarding with two routers use two laptops which are used both at home and at work I d ideally like to create static IPs for the two hardwired computers and keep assigned IPs for the laptops Currently the modem plugs straight into the WAN on the VOIP router LAN on the VOIP router is then connected to the WAN on the WRT G The two hardwired PCs are connected to the WRT G LAN and LAN To make things easy both routers are reset to factory settings The VOIP router is set to dhcp enabled IP Subnet DHCP range - The WRT G is set to dhcp enabled IP Subnet DHCP range - All computers including the laptops are set to automatic configuration Once I have assigned static IPs I then need to allow port forwarding for a few programs on one of the hardwired PCs I know how to do port forwarding on a one router system but not on a chained system like this I also get confused with what numbers should go where Can anyone please suggest exactly what numbers and settings I should use for the VOIP router the WRT G router and each computer along with what I should type in on the port forwarding on which router to enable a program on the primary hardwired PC to work on port TCP I know it s a lot but I m stumped Cheers in advance Paul nbsp

A:creating a static ip and port forwarding with two routers

Sorry but you are confusing me. I will be be able to help ... but lets break down what you are trying to do.

My first question is why do u have 2x DHCP servers running? Statically assign the 2x desktop PCs with an IP address and then exclude those IP addresses from the DHCP scope. Alternatively you can reserve 2x IP addresses in the scope (MAC addresses required). TURN DHCP SERVER OFF ON ONE OF THE ROUTERS! 2x DHCP servers can cause all kinds of problems within a LAN. One scope is best and to keep it neat, set the address range between 192.168.x.100 - x.150 (if you decide to go with a class C subnet).

Why do you have both WAN ports in use? It sounds like you have created a loop! From one to the other ... makes no sense to me why you did that, in my head the topology looks wrong! You would be better off with a switch rather than 2x routers for reasons like a switch doesn't require an IP address and it is not a DHCP server. But it doesn't matter, we can either NAT between the two routers (which will slow down you internet speed a little) or we can put the VOIP router into bridge mode, give the Linksys all the ISP details and have him as the gateway. Bridge mode is the easier of the two, and won't slow down your internet speed (no NAT rules).

I hope this is making sense. Reply back and fill me in a little more and we'll go from there :grinthumb

i would go with an intel core2 duo processor, asus 680i motherboard, and at least a gig of corsair DDR2 800 ram, in dual channel config. i reccomend two smaller hard drives as apposed to one big one, so you could run them in a fast raid 0 array. raid 0 combines the capacities of the disks involved, so two 160GB drives would give you single 320GB volume. as for the power supply...go with a name brand (that's important for pretty much all computer parts) known for quality, such as antec or PC power & cooling.

if you get a single video card, i would say get the antec neopower 550w, which is quiet, efficient, and supports modular cabling.

as for the USB usage you mentioned, your USB controller (mobo) is going to be the limiting factor in determining how much power can be drawn.

i would edit your post and remove your email address, this is a public webpage and can be viewed by anyone.

A:Creating an XP Install Flash-Drive

If you can access the cd from another computer, copy the i386 folder from the installation cd to your flash drive. If you're installing the OS from scratch locate the WINNT.exe(not the winnt32.exe because it's for upgrades only). I've never done it this way so I don't know its flaws. If you need a command line to access the installation folder I would recommend creating a startup disk from a floppy(assuming you have a floppy) and that creates the basic msdos files to start up on.

In the beginning of the installation it says you should press F6 to load additional drivers. You don't know what these additional drivers are or you are already away making a sandwich in the kitchen, so the message disappears and the setup continues.

Later on, if you have a SATA hard drive, the WIndows installerwill say that it can't find any hard drives. And then, when you ask someone about this pecualiar message, you are told that you should have made a special floppy disk containing SATA drivers and pressed that F6 key

Following 2 re-installs of SBS2003 on my Dell 400SC server none of the workstations on our network are able to send emails via Exchange server.
The error message that keeps coming up is:-
"553 sorry, that domain isn't in my list of allowed rcpthosts (#5.7.1)"
I'm pretty sure this is just a setup issue but having searched several other forums there seems to be several opinions as to the cause of this error.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
All the workstations are running XP Pro (SP2) and using Outlook 2003 for email. :blackeye:

A:Email not being sent

Normally this would be an incorrect DNS configuration on a Windows Server. Check your event viewer. If there are DNS errors, you may want to resolve those first. If you DNS is clean, you still may want to use the IP address of your Mail Server instead of the domain name. Additionally, something I've run into in the past is some ISP's only allow sending of mail within so many seconds of POP3 authentication. I believe QWest does this. This is their way of preventing relaying but it screwed me up seeing how they provide our connectivity but my POP3 email is with another company that houses our domain so I never downloaded POP3 from Qwest. It could be that username and password authentication are required to get around this. I'm not sure where that setting is but I'll try to remember to look on my server at work tomorrow. If I find anything good, I'll let you know.

hi helpful people, i recently (yesterday) installed Verizon DSL and have no problems with it except that when i access my Yahoo mail it takes frustratingly forever to download anything. When i used my old ISP again, as i haven't cancelled it yet, Yahoo worked fine. So i contacted Verizon who told me it was either a Yahoo problem or a computer problem??? When i informed them that it only started when i installed their software, and went away when i used my other ISP, they inferred i was some kind of ignorant *****. They were absolutely no help. So what gives? Am i some kind of ignorant *****, or could it indeed be Verizon stuffing it up? Everything else downloads fine. Could it be that i have mainly Australian Yahoo email addresses, thereby creating some sort of spam problem? I appreciate your help.
Thanks
Doz

A:Yahoo email problems with verizon dsl

it could be many things, but let's start with some basics.
You mentioned Verizon DSL, implying a telephone connection rather than
a cable. Secondly, how do you access your original ISP; dial-up?

Started after loading their software -- what does that package do?
Is it like AOL which presents the whole interface of a browser (totally unnecessary).

With the DSL modem in place, I would bet you could just start any browser and
it would access the Internet just fine - - including your Yahoo Email. Once your
computer has IP, Gateway and DNS addresses, your good to go and all programs
which have tcp/ip ability will run without knowing how or who(the isp) got
installed or configured.

you can verify your tcp thus;
run->enter the word
cmd
hit enter
then type
ipconfig /all

results look like

Using WideBand achieving about 1.5 Mbps with a speed test. When sending email with file attachment of 3.2MB, the time to send or receive the email w/file attachment takes minutes not seconds. A friend with the same BroadBand service using the same email message w/same attachment can do it in 73 seconds. Is there something I'm missing in settings on my system? Or is this an issue with the mail server(s) and MIME?

Thanks.

A:EMail File Attachment(MIME) transfer speed too slow on WideBand

Well it all depends on what you upload speed is, not your download speed. You likely have 256kpbs or maybe a little higher. That really limits your capability of sending a large attachment quickly.

A:SiI 3112 - controller just hangs when creating RAID1 (mirror) set

SiI 3112 RAID controller - more trouble than it's worth? Or saviour?

Ok, while trying to create a RAID1 set on a SiI 3112 RAID controller (on Asus A7N8X deluxe mobo) I've come across quiet a few worrying stories of angst regarding troubles with this controller. Am I just getting paranoid or should I listen to the people who say to use a PCI SATARaid controller which is supposed to be less problematic? (And if I *should* go for PCI option, which ones are reputable?)

Basically, I'd like to hear peoples experiences, good or bad, with setting up RAID1 on the SiI 3112.

Ok hi guys,
I have southpark season 1-3 on 12 CDs.
What i want to do is make so i am able to have all 30*(1) episodes on the
one*(2) DVD and make it so that its playable on a DVD player. when using my producing program it makes it so i can only have approximatley 8 episodes on one disc.

So basically i need a way to compress it. Technically, if i could get a menu etc, could i just use compressed vobs that are like 150-200mb each??

*(1) give or take a few episodes.
*(2) at least get like 15 on one DVD.

A:Creating a dvd with heaps of episodes

You can fit many on one dvd, but the quality is so low that you can see the pixelization.

A dvd can fit up to 7 cd's. So 8 makes sense.

My guess is either your movie app is limiting or you haven't used the right functions. Such as wide screen and letter box. Google TMPGEnc

In supporting a Community Assocation I have the need to create a public network and a private one that shares the same internet connection. The way this is shaping up is:

Modom (dial up)
D-Link Router (DI-704 w/ serial port)

Public Network
16 Port Hub

Private Network
LinkSys Router (BEFSR41)
8 Port Switch (currently a hub)

Some devices will need to connect to the routers and the hubs/switchs because of location. (no big deal, I ***-u-me)

Currently I have the settings as:
D-Link (Public)
IP : 192.168.1.64
Range : 65 to 127
Default IP mask (Can't find one)

LinkSys (Private)
IP : 192.168.1.32
Range : 33 to 47
Default IP mask

When connected to the Private network, a PC cannot ping the public ones or get the Internet (I need both). The public ones have Internet access, can ping the LinkSys but no PCs (As it should be).

So what how should this work and what am I missing?

A:Creating a Public and Private network

Welcome to TechSpot

I think the following might be helpful:

D-Link (Public) connect to your modem.
Router-setup WAN:
Protocol: Fixed IP
IP-address, Subnetmask and default Gateway: as per ISP-information
DNS-servers: as per ISP-information
Enable NAT

Router-setup LAN:
IP-address: 192.168.1.64
Subnetmask: 255.255.255.0
DHCP-server: disable
You selected Range : 65 to 127

PC-Settings (Public)
Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)
Use the following fixed IP addresses: 192.168.1.65 (66, 67 etc. - 126)
Subnetmask: 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway: 192.168.1.64 (IP-address from your Router)
Use DNS Server address: 192.168.1.64 (IP-address from your Router)
Second DNS: leave blank or put in first DNS-server from WAN-part in Router

Reserve the IP address: 192.168.1.127 for the Linksys (Private)
which will plug into the D-Link
============================================================================

LinkSys (Private) connect to the D-Link router.
Router-setup WAN:
Protocol: Fixed IP
IP-address: 192.168.1.127
Subnetmask: 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway: 192.168.1.127
DNS-servers: 192.168.1.127
Enable NAT

Router-setup LAN:
IP-address: 192.168.1.127
Subnetmask: 255.255.255.0
DHCP-server: disable
You selected Range : 33 to 47

PC-Settings (Private)
Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)
Use the following fixed IP addresses: 192.168.1.33 (34, 35 etc. - 47)
Subnetmask: 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway: 192.168.1.127 (IP-address from your Router)
Use DNS Server address: 192.168.1.127 (IP-address from your Router)
Second DNS: leave blank

============================================================================

Valid for both Routers:
Some System-settings (depending on your router)
Optional SNTP (time): e.g. 194.35.252.7 for UK/Ireland (GMT)
uPnP: disable
Dynamic routing: disable
Remote config: disable
Dynamic DNS: disable
Firewall: Block hacker attack: enable
Firewall: Block WAN request: enable
VPN: disable all settings unless you need it

PC-Settings (Public & Private)
Make sure all PCs are in the same WORKGROUP.
Enable File/Printer sharing if you wish (works only within local network)
Check individual printer(s) that they are shared as well (in printer-settings)
In the software firewall, enable/block the other PCs IP-address(es)

I am not 100% sure, but this should work.

How can this be.

I have the 2 computers side by side, same OS xp home on the same broadband connection, not connecting through each other.

But on the laptop I can access the internet send email but get this message when trying to recieve.

Your server has unexpectedly terminated the connection. Possible causes for this include server problems, network problems, or a long period of inactivity. Account: 'mail.jerseymail.co.uk', Server: 'mail.jerseymail.co.uk', Protocol: POP3, Server Response: '+OK 1531 octets.', Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Error Number: 0x800CCC0F

I get a brief glimpse of the number of messages that are there before this message appears.

I have put the settings into the other machine and can send and recieve on that email account.
So I know i have the correct user names and passwords.
Any help much appreciated.

I have tried that, I also deleted all email details, put in my own and got the same error message.
I have now put in original settings and am getting the same error.

The machine has also become painfully slow. I am going to look what I can uninstall.

My latest problem is that, on Outlook Express, when I want to subscribe/unsubscribe a newsletter, say, & I click on their e-mail link, I'm told that I am not set up to do it directly, or words to that effect, so I have to write down the address to remember it, then click "write mail" & type in the address which is frequently a mighty long one!
Can I do something to avoid going through all this each time?

A:Email Problem

Unless you are an AOL user, you can probably just change your settings so that html links will show up in emails. If you are an AOL user, I don't think there is anything you can do about it.

I have a P computer with a GeForce MX MX video card Audio Driver account. No only with Sound one Creative PCI ES I reinstalled my real version of XP Pro due to some not sound related hangups and space problems on that the D drive which was a cleanly formatted install The No Sound with only one account. C drive reinstallation not clean has worked fine with all the previous programs reinstalled however I get no sound neither quot Windows quot generated nor media played in the main account but have no problems in any of the other accounts on this same system Device manager reveals no conflicts anywhere let alone in Sound and video controller settings The programs reinstalled are I believe all the same that were there before and caused no such problems Is there some way of isolating this problem or migrating the other account settings to the main quot me quot account who is the administrator loosely applied term in my case Many thanks im adsvance as MS KB has nothing I can find or understand to help me Regards Jimo nbsp

A:No Sound with only one account.

If only one account cannot hear the sound, log on as another user with administrative rights, and then delete the profile of the effected account.

Right click "My Computer" and select properties for the user accounts tab.

Ok I've got a question about synchronizing my handheld. I currently have it setup to synchronize with the palm software, but I would like to change this to synchronize with Outlook instead. I know this is possible, but I just can't seem to find it in the options anywhere. If anyone has done this or know how please let me know. I am using a Handspring Visor Deluxe. Thank you ahead of time

A:Synchronize with Outlook, instead of Palm Software

In my version of the Palm Desktop (4.0.1) you can do the following:
1) Run Palm Desktop
2) Click on Hotsync....Custom
3) Highlight Mail and click Change....

So I'd like suggestions on an email client that will be sync across windows and android platforms. I currently use Thunderbird on my PC, with a lot of filters and folders set up to help me organize my emails. I'd like to NOT have to customize all of these settings again, in a different program. Does anyone know if there is a program that has both a windows and android version in which those two versions will 'talk' to each other?

A:Suggestions for an email client

Actually, imo, you are looking for your email provider to support IMAP instead or in addition to POP3.
The gmail.com provides both as do others.

The advantage of POP3 is for the email provider; saves email on their host only until you access the account at which time the inbox on their server is entirely downloaded to your device, eg: the PC. Once on the PC, you run directly into your issue, aka syncing.

The advantage of IMAP is for you; the email STAYS on the email providers host where it is accessible by ALL your devices. The individual emails are removed only when you DELETE them. So, you can read an email on your mobile, realize that you need to deal with it when you get home, and just close it. Later at home, you can re-read it, do whatever is necessary, and reply/delete as you desire.

Outlook Express is no longer support and there are other 3rd party client email programs, eg Thunderbird which even looks similar

Q: Email

Hello everyone.
I'm looking for an email service that is good. I don't do a lot of emailing, and would like to find one that is easy to set up. It doesn't really matter whether or not it is a big company, or not. Though, i would like to get an email account from some reliable company that a lot of people have not heard about.
thanks

btw, i don't want a myspace:dead: .

A:Email

What do you want from your service? Does it have to have a web interface? A lot of room? POP3/IMAP service? Does it have to last forever? Does it have to be free?

Do you go to school or work? Usually you can get an account from these places.
