I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/directdownload.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Try disabling no script. That may be eating up all your resources and slowing down the loading of webpages. If that doesnt work, try another browser like Chrome. I would try completely clean installing windows rather than repairing it since just repairing will not clear anything such as viruses off of the PC. Malware could be another culprit and clean installation will allow you to wipe it out.

I use a local html file and images as my homepage. It loads about 100 7k gif files. Before I upgraded to firefox 3 it would load instantly, also in internet explorer. I think I might have changed a setting somewhere or installed a mod which changed things and setting things back to default doesn't fix my problem. My computer is set up with these links so I can research things very quickly but this local web page is taking up to 5 seconds to load. Each image appears.. separately.. one after the other like falling dominoes like it is unable to load more than one image at a time from a local source. Is there any way to fix this?

I have to be honest is 5 seconds going to be that big of a deal in the big picture?

Also, are you running this file from a webserver on a local machine? If so you might want to make sure that there isn't anything going on there. What do you have your homepage set to in to tools section?

Cheers!

A:Firefox Problem Loading Page

Hi, welcome to TSF

Have you tried a few different websites from your Bookmarks list and by typing their addresses in the URL bar, or is it just your homepage that won't load when you first load Firefox?

If you can access the internet with Internet Explorer, and Firefox is not being blocked by your firewall, open Firefox and click File in the top left. Is there a tick next to 'Work Offline'?

Hello everyone! I have been trying to use AIM Mail with Mozilla Firefox but it appears as though the screen looks really strange and doesn't load properly. I think it's because it said the connection I was using was untrusted and asked me to add it into an exception thing that had to do with certificates. I didn't read it thoroughly, but apparently it seems that images on the log-in page don't load properly. The entirety of the page seems really white, although I can't give a good explanation of what the screen looks like. I don't know if this is linked with a second problem, but for some reason it doesn't let me log in either. How do you fix this problem?

It's possible that something may have interfered with a clean install of IE9. You could remove it and then reinstall it. When you uninstall, the previous version will be reinstated.

Hi,
Every single page I open in both IE7 and Firefox v2 opens twice, not in two separate tabs or windows but duplicated one above the other on the same tab. For example my homepage is Google so when this loads I get the usual - 'Google banner, Google search bar, hyperlinks' and then all of that again directly below.
With IE it also appears to open the program twice as I get two windows opening initially, but the second then disappears leaving the two-pages-in-one window.
It started doing this earlier today and I have tried rebooting, opening IE in no add-ons mode and run a full virus scan in mcafee but nothing...
Does anyone have any ideas?
Thanks

First off Happy New Year to everyone. Now for this annoying problem. I'm not sure if this is an add-on problem or what but I have been receiving this error message on quite a few web pages. See following

Unable to connect

Firefox can't establish a connection to the server at www.ad.yieldmanger.com
* The site could be temporarily unavailable or too busy. Try again in a few moments.

* If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer's network connection.

* If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure that Firefox is permitted to access the Web.

Does anyone know how to correct this?

Until last Thu or Fri all was well. Since then IE7 on one machine takes minutes to load web pages - I've tried everything I know how to fix this to no avail.

Anyone any ideas - I've done all the spyware/virus checks, uninstalled, reinstalled, deleted temporary, defragged etc etc - seems to me it must be something very basic but significant.

In the past couple weeks, I've struggled with my browser in terms of loading up web pages. I checked with my ISP and they said everything looks fine on their end.

I've done the following to try to fix the situation:
Updated my Mcafee package (spyware, viruses) and scanned in safe mode, defragged, cleaned out: temp files, cookies, history, recycled bin; changed my browser to safari, run a registry cure program, and adjusted my resolution and color to minimal settings.

I recently inputed a graphics card, not sure if this would have anything to do with the problem.

Thank you in advance.

A:Slow Web Page Loading

Have you cleaned your internet buildup. Download Ccleaner, its easy and cleans in two easy steps. The download is off to the right at the top of the green box.Click on Download Latest Version. After you install you just hit Analyze and when its done Run CleanerIt may take a while to run if you haven't been cleaning your files. This will empty your Recycle bin also, so be sure you want that emptied. http://www.filehippo.com/download_ccleaner/Also,Do you have your Phishing Filter turned on? You may want to test it while it is turned off and see if there is a difference.I have noticed that it has slowed a few people down quite a bit.Open IE, go to the Tools option in the far right, bottom toolbar. Put your mouse over Phishing filter and see if it says to Turn it off or on. It it says Off then you know it is on, you can select to turn it off and see if this is your problem. If it isn't, you can go back and turn it on again.

Hi all
Normally when i use the net all is fine. Noticed today when i run a video convertor programme in the background the loading of web pages is extremely slow. Stop Freemake video convertor and page loading is normal speed. I assumed it was memory, did memtest and no errors found. CPU monitor sits on 100%. Had similar problem with Villisoft last week. Time for a new CPU methinks but having said that would 100% cpu usage slow down webpage loading to that degree. Thanks

Since the latest (Feb) patch tuesday updates IE v9 64bit (kb/2792100) has slowed to a snails pace loading web pages. OS: Win7 Pro 64BIT

Any suggestions?

A:IE Slow Loading Page

Welcome to Seven Forums rdb. The easy answer would be to remove the updates for IE from February and see if that corrects it. You can then install one, and test. If you install both again, and the problem does not return, you are good to go. If one or the other installs ok , you can leave it. You could then hide the other, but obviously it was released for a reason You could do a search on the one that causes the issue, and see if there are others experiencing the same thing.

Start> In search box type Windows Update> Enter> In the left pane, click View update history

You should find the same 2 IE updates as I have KB2797052 and KB2792100 . At top or Windows update page click on To remove an update see Installed Updates

The installed updates page will open, paste the KB numbers from above into the search box upper right. The update will display. Click on it, a popup will appear asking you if you want to uninstall it, choose yes. Remove one, then test. If still slow, remove the other and test again.

You could then go to Windows Update and reinstall the update that didn't affect the speed again. I would update both again, as they may work the 2nd time. If not, uninstall the offending one again. Obviously this isn't the best fix, as the security update is something you want, but if the update itself is the cause, the choice is to keep it and deal with the speed. Post back if the updates are not the cause.

Hello,

I've been experiencing unusually high page loading time recently. The odd thing is that if I have another tab open and I switch to that tab while the other page is loading the load time is almost instantaneous. I'm a die-hard Mozilla user, but I tried using IE just to see if it's the browser or my internet connection. IE loaded pages faster. Please help, I don't want to switch to IE.

Thanks in advance,
Sam

Compaq Presario/Windows XP Home Edition 2002. Brouser loading pages extremely slow. Occassionally, I get pop-up stating that I'm low on virtual memory. Once page loads, streaming generally is OK (i.e., google video, HULU). Not sure about any MALWARE. Running AVG Free. Appreciate any help.

Hi,
Like the title says my web pages are now loading rather slowly. It's occurring on my DELL 8200 1.8/512mb. I have a new laptop networked through a router and it doesn't suffer from this. I thought it might be my ISP and since the laptop shows no symptoms I know it's something on the desktop. I have tried to copy as many of the settings from the laptop to the desktop as I can find but to no avail. The only difference between the two is that the desktop has Service Pack 1 for IE6, the laptop doesn't.
The problem isn't the actual loading of the page. I can see it almost instantly. It happens at the end of the load. The status indicator on the bottom of IE6 reamins completlely full for ~30 seconds or so and the page will accept no commands or inputs from a mouse or keyboard. Please help.
Thanks

I have Verizon DSL with Windows Live. The PC that connects to the modem wirelessly is excessively slow in loading pages. The PC has Windows XP Home Edition SP2. The wireless connection ranges from 11 MBps to 54 MBps. This has been going on for a couple of weeks now. Loading a page takes 1 to 2 minutes per page or more which is even slower than dial-up these days. I am using a Westell Versalink DSL Modem Model 327W. My other PC that is connected directly to the modem via an ethernet cable has no problem loading pages at top speed. I have run the Super Anti-Spyware which removed adware that it found. Also ran AVG anti-virus software which found nothing.

You guys were awesome in helping me with this PC when it was hit with an adware trojan a while back. Can you please help me fix the slow speed of loading pages and links.

Thanks.

I am using windows XP, on a Dell Dimension 3000 computer. I have expanded my ram memory to its capacity of 1GB.
Do I need to get a computer with more ram and how much do I need? I use my computer to write letters using word, I download pictures from my Kodak camera, and I visit many places on the internet. That is about all I do with my computer. How can you determine if my computer is out dated at this time? It takes 2 to3 minutes before I connect to a link.
Thank you. Laizerbeam

1GB of RAM for XP is perfectly enough.
Is your browser the only thing, that is slow on your computer?
What browser/version is it?
Did you try another browser?
What type of internet connection do you have?

A:Getting slow loading ads in IE, causes page to hang

What certain pages are you visiting when the ad comes? Make sure your Java and Adobe Shockwave is updated as well.
Lets isolate the issue

Where does the ad show in the following situations? Visit the same page
On your laptop in IE
On your laptop in Mozilla Firefox/Chrome or Safari
On your desktop in IE
On your desktop in Mozilla Firefox/Chrome or Safari

Please download Malwarebytes Anti-Malware and save it to your desktop.alternate download link 1alternate download link 2Make sure you are connected to the Internet.Double-click on Download_mbam-setup.exe to install the application. When the installation begins, follow the prompts and do not make any changes to default settings. When installation has finished, make sure you leave both of these checked:Update Malwarebytes' Anti-MalwareLaunch Malwarebytes' Anti-MalwareThen click Finish.MBAM will automatically start and you will be asked to update the program before performing a scan. If an update is found, the program will automatically update itself. Press the OK button to close that box and continue. If you encounter any problems while downloading the updates, manually download them from here and just double-click on mbam-rules.exe to install. On the Scanner tab:Make sure the "Perform Quick Scan" option is selected. Then click on the Scan button. If asked to select the drives to scan, leave all the drives selected and click on the Start Scan button. The scan will begin and "Scan in progress" will show at the top. It may take some time to complete so please be patient. When the scan is finished, a message box will say "The scan completed successfully. Click 'Show Results' to display all objects found".Click OK to close the message box and continue with the removal process.Back at the main Scanner screen, click on the Show Results button to see a list of any malware that was found.Make sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected. When removal is completed, a log report will open in Notepad and you may be prompted to restart your computer. (see Note below)The log is automatically saved and can be viewed by clicking the Logs tab in MBAM.Copy and paste the contents of that report in your next reply and exit MBAM.Note: If MBAM encounters a file that is difficult to remove, you will be presented with 1 of 2 prompts. Click OK to either and let MBAM proceed with the disinfection process. If asked to restart the computer, please do so immediately. Failure to reboot will prevent MBAM from removing all the malware.

Odd behavior - Slow or incomplete web page loading, IE7 opens by itself and tries to get to 2 or three pages on its own, ie7 (which I didn't open) 2 instances at the same time, show up in the task list but I can't see it.

Something is going on but I don't understand what it is.

I have ran various removal softwares including Malwarewarebytes,Superantispyware,MS Essentials, Spybot S&D,Spyware Blaster, Sophos rootkit detection, in the last few days but these have not returned my system to normal browsing behavior. ( Quick and smooth on a 16meg cable connection )

I have tried running system file checker but I don't think it helped. I don't know if it finished normally. It just seemed to stop requesting redirection to the xp cd without saying it had finished.

I need help and a systematic way to cure this system.

Any help appreiciated.

A:Odd behavior - Very Slow or incomplete web page loading etc.

Try resetting Internet Explorer. Doing this will reset the browser back to the way it was when initially installed. Reset Internet Explorer Settings in XP or Vista using the automatic Fix it button in the instructions provided by Microsoft on that page. To manually reset the settings do this:Exit all programs, including Internet Explorer (if it is running).Click > Run..., and in the Open box, type: inetcpl.cplClick OK or press Enter. If using Vista, click Start and type inetcpl.cpl in the Start Search box, and then press Enter. The Internet Options dialog box appears.Click the Advanced tab.Under "Reset Internet Explorer settings", click Reset. Then click Reset again. When Internet Explorer finishes resetting the settings, click Close in the "Reset Internet Explorer Settings" dialog box.Start Internet Explorer again.Instructions with screenshots if needed.

Hi folks,

Long version (skip if bored by it):

I'm working on a web site (www.tuningfork.org if you wanna check out its beta) which includes a photo gallery with some pretty high-res images--around 6-700KB--because the client needs print-quality images, for newspapers...

Anyway, because I'm using the OpenWindow() procedure to pop up the photo gallery window (follow the link and you'll see what I mean), which means there's no status bar, and at least in IE 5.5 SP2, I get no hourglass, either. Which means users are sitting there for between 10 seconds and 5 minutes (depending on modem speed) with no indication that an image is loading.

Short version:

Is there a way in HTML or Java to do the equivalent of the Flash "Loading..." message, until the image appears? I don't need anything fancy, just something to say "hold on, it's coming."

Thanks very much.

I have an ASUS G75 running win8.  I have lots of RAM and a good internet connection (I get about 38Mbps down and 5 up).  My problem is page loading.  It can get painfully slow, specially if the page is ad heavy, but even pages that are short on ads can take 20-30 seconds to load.  I suspect I am having a problem with either Java or Flash, but don't know how to check further.

Any suggestions?

Hi All

I am hosting my website on my own PC at home. I am running Apache on a virtual Ubuntu machine inside my windows machine (using a Bridged Virtual Network adapter)

Now I am using a Dynamic DNS service to map my domain name to my public IP.

Problem: When Ioad my domain name, the site loads fine, no problems, but when I load the web page from an external PC (that is not on my network) the site loads EXTREMELY slow (web page does not even load properly). Now I have a 1Mbps broadband line at home.

I suspect that the upload speed for my line is to slow to handle traffic requested from outside? Or can it be something else?
I tested it on my own PC using a Proxy service (to mimic an external PC) and the result is the same: Very slow

Thank you

A:Web Page Loading slow on home server

You can run an test from speedtest.net to verify your upload speed. You might also want to look into allocating more resource to the virtual machine.

First of all, hello, I'm new to the forum and am hoping someone can help me because I'm at the point of giving up!

I just installed two new Windows 7 computers with Windows 7 Professional 64-bit.
When opening Internet Explorer the home page displays instantly but then if i try and visit other pages (even something as simple as Google) the pages take an age to display.
I thought it might have just been the connection but if i try the same pages on a Windows XP machine or on my Mac, they display a lot quicker.

Has anyone else heard of this problem and if so is there a resolution?

Thanks in advance for ANY information you can give me.

A:Newly installed 7 64 bit slow web page loading...

Hi and welcome to sevenforums.

Have you done all windows updates?

And have you tried using a different browser such as Chrome/firefox/opera to see if the same happens? That way it can rule out internet explorer at least.

Hello uglybaby ( ),Welcome to Bleeping Computer I don't see anything apparent in your log, so if you're still getting redirects, we'll have to run something else. Please download ATF Cleaner by Atribune.Double-click ATF-Cleaner.exe to run the program.Under Main choose: Select AllClick the Empty Selected button. If you use Firefox browserClick Firefox at the top and choose: Select AllClick the Empty Selected button.NOTE: If you would like to keep your saved passwords, please click No at the prompt. If you use Opera browserClick Opera at the top and choose: Select AllClick the Empty Selected button.NOTE: If you would like to keep your saved passwords, please click No at the prompt.Click Exit on the Main menu to close the program. For Technical Support, double-click the e-mail address located at the bottom of each menu. Please print these instructions or copy them to Notepad (or another word processor), and save it for easier reference. This is because we will be in Safe Mode during the fix and you won?t be able to access the Internet to view these instructions. Please download AVG Anti-Spyware Free Edition and save that file to your desktop. This is a 30-day trial of the program -- This means that after 30 days the "background guard" protection will be de-activated. However, this version can continue to be manually updated and used as an on-demand scanner forever.Once you have downloaded AVG Anti-Spyware, locate the icon on the desktop and double-click it to launch the setup program.Once the setup is complete you will need to run AVG Anti-Spyware and update the definition files. On the top of the main screen select the "Update" icon, then under the "Manual update" section click the "Start update" button. The update will start and a progress bar will show the updates being installed.Once the update has completed (the progress bar will display "Update successful!") select the "Scanner" icon at the top of the screen, then select the "Settings" tab.Once in the "Settings" screen:Click on "Recommended actions" -> select "Quarantine".Under "Reports:" -> select "Do not automatically generate reports".Close AVG Anti-Spyware. Please do NOT run a scan yet!Next, please reboot your computer into Safe Mode by doing the following:Reboot your computer. After hearing your computer beep once during startup, but just before the Windows icon appears, begin tapping the F8 key on your keyboard. If you begin tapping the F8 key too soon, some computers display a "keyboard error" message. To resolve this, reboot the computer and try again.Instead of Windows loading as normal, a menu should appear.Using the arrow keys on the keyboard, scroll to and select the "Safe Mode" menu item, and then press "Enter".Then please run a scan with AVG Anti-Spyware:IMPORTANT: Do NOT open any other windows or programs while AVG Anti-Spyware is scanning, it may interfere with the scanning process.Launch AVG Anti-Spyware by double-clicking the icon on your desktop.Select the "Scanner" icon at the top and then the "Scan" tab. Click on "Complete System Scan".AVG Anti-Spyware will now begin the scanning process, be patient this may take a little time.Once the scan is complete do the following:If you have any infections you will prompted, then select the "Apply all actions" button, AVG Anti-Spyware will then display "All actions have been applied" on the right hand side.Next select the "Save Report" button at the bottom. Then select the "Save report as" button in the lower left hand corner of the screen and save it as a text file on your system (make sure to remember where you saved that file, this is important!).Close AVG Anti-Spyware and reboot your system normally into Windows. Hello,

My computer is slowing than normal and I'm not sure why.

Computer Details:
Windows XP, Service Pack 2
1.73 GHz, 504 MB RAM
Total Size 87GB
Free Space 55GB

My internet takes a while to load pages, change pages, and programs take a really long time to start up. I use Mozilla Firefox.

I have Symantec Antivirus software, Ad-Aware, and Spy-bot. They are all updated and I've run them on safe mode. No problems found. I also ran CCleaner.

I used Spy-bot to disable programs I do not need on startup and defragmented my computer.

I would appreciate any help.
Thanks!
Monica

A:Slow Internet Page Loading And Program Startup

What kind of Internet connection do you have?

There is a tweak that you can do to Firefox which will help speed up the pages opening.

1. Type "about:config" in the address field.

2. Set the value of network.http.pipelining to "true".

3. Set the value of network.http.pipelining.maxrequests to "100".

4. Set the value of network.http.proxy.pipelining to "true"

Here I am finally getting around to dealing with an annoying quirk using Firefox I have FF on three machines all running Windows -- two desktops and one laptop The behavior I am asking about occurs on all three so I believe that rules out a machine dependent problem One site WTKR com Our local TV loads very slowly The bottom of the screen Firefox Website Loading Using Slow shows a multitude of 'Transferring data ' messages and it takes over seconds for it to get rendered The same thing happens on WVEC com -- another local TV station but not as slow All other sites I have come across load almost Slow Loading Website Using Firefox immediately If I visit those two sites using Chrome or IE the come up almost immediately I have removed or disabled all FF's extension plugins and even have gone back to several earlier versions of FF the earliest being but they still load slow in each case If it helps one thing I noticed in Tool gt Page Info for WTKR and WVEC is the first entry which says X-UA Compatible IE This entry does not appear in the Page Info for any of the pages that load 'instantly ' Others in the Mozilla Firefox forum report the problem doesn't exist on there Vista machines so I wonder if it is a Firefox vs Windows issue I doubt it Will someone please help me get rid of this annoying quirk Thank you

A:Slow Loading Website Using Firefox

Hi jsquareg,

It could be a FireFox (FF) vs. Windows 7 issue. Do you preform regular maintenance, and updates? Malware, and virus scans? Your System Specs look strong enough, they are better than mine.

You could try clearing the FF cache.
In 10 go to Tools >Clear Recent History, a small dialog box will open, and I would uncheck all, but cache. Then click Clear Now. Even if it does not restart FF I would.
If you cannot see it, click on Details.

But, it could also be a FF vs certain websites quirk. The X-UA Compatible IE7 tag points to these conditions: https://blogs.msdn.com/b/ie/archive/2008/06/10/introducing-ie-emulateie7, and it goes back to "Are these sites compatible with certain browsers".
With that being listed in Tools >Page Info it is telling FF to try and emulate certain elements on that page in IE7 fashion.

Years ago it was common to see an area/element on web pages that proclaimed that the site worked better with this or that browser, now it is not, and television stations can be notorious for leaving their website improvement for last.

Out of the four in my area WHP, WHTM, WPMT, and WGAL WPMT is the only one that has the X-UA-Compatible IE=7 tag, and on my FF10.0.1 they all load within 3seconds, and my FF cache is at 12MB.

It might also be your ISP I have the lowest tier Verizon DSL 1.0MB download. Check your ISP's homepage to see if it lists the X-UA element mine does not.

Each and every page I open on Amazon in firefox brings my browser to a halt for over a minute. It appears to be loading scripts or modules, as the tab keeps circling and stopping and circling as it's trying to load. This happens over and over repeatedly until the page finally starts working as normal. What could be causing this to happen? It's the only site that gives me an issue like this, and it's been happening for months now. Chrome handles Amazon fine.

A:Amazon in firefox - slow loading

Spinning circle - usually means a problem add on. Try running FF with add ons disabled and see if the page loads okay. If it loads okay then we know where to start looking.

See:

How to start Firefox in Safe Mode

A:IE POP-UPs using Firefox, extremely slow loading

Hi, Welcome to TSG!!

Save HJTInstall.exe to your desktop.
Doubleclick on the HJTInstall.exe icon on your desktop.
By default it will install to C:\Program Files\Trend Micro\HijackThis .
Click on Install.
It will create a HijackThis icon on the desktop.
Once installed, it will launch Hijackthis.
Click on the Do a system scan and save a logfile button. It will scan and the log should open in notepad.
Click on "Edit > Select All" then click on "Edit > Copy" to copy the entire contents of the log.
Come back here to this thread and Paste the log in your next reply.
DO NOT have Hijackthis fix anything yet. Most of what it finds will be harmless or even required.

A:Slow Page loading / processing - Can not connect to security sites

Hi Duane.

Yes, you do have a rootkit onboard.

Download ComboFix from one of these locations:

Link 1
Link 2
Link 3

* IMPORTANT !!! Save ComboFix.exe to your Desktop

Disable your AntiVirus and AntiSpyware applications, usually via a right click on the System Tray icon. They may otherwise interfere with our tools

Double click on combofix.exe & follow the prompts.

As part of it's process, ComboFix will check to see if the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console is installed. With malware infections being as they are today, it's strongly recommended to have this pre-installed on your machine before doing any malware removal. It will allow you to boot up into a special recovery/repair mode that will allow us to more easily help you should your computer have a problem after an attempted removal of malware.

Follow the prompts to allow ComboFix to download and install the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console, and when prompted, agree to the End-User License Agreement to install the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console.

**Please note: If the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console is already installed, ComboFix will continue it's malware removal procedures.

Once the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console is installed using ComboFix, you should see the following message:

Click on Yes, to continue scanning for malware.

When finished, it shall produce a log for you. Please include the C:\ComboFix.txt in your next reply.

I have perfect connection (full bars) but can take 5mins to load a page, didn't used to be like this, my laptop is an acer aspire 5810tz, fairly new.

Other pc and laptop in the house works fine.

It didnt used to be like this but started happening when i rented a room at someone elses house.

Often it comes up with 'connection timed out' Or 'Server not found'

Videos on yt and 40d take days to buffer.

Re-powering the router doesn't help but i forsee its not based there seeing my other pc's are fine wireless.

Hello, I've just purchased my new HP computer from bestbuy a week ago. I did have the geeksquad perform a security setup which should take care of optimizing it. The OS is Vista Home Premium and it's got 3 gigs of ram. The processor is AMD Athlon(tm) 64 x2 Dual Core Processor 5600+2.80 GHz. It's got the latest version of IE and Windows Media Player on it. The problem is it is loading some videos and some webpage very slow (it's even slower then my old computer with windows 98). I've even ran the regCure and spySweeper on it and it doesn't seem to help. Isn't a windows Vista problem or is possibly wrong? Please help, what else can I do to help with it's slow video and page loading problem?

Hello,

Thank you for taking the time to read. I don't know why but all of a sudden the pages (any page) I try to load takes extremely long and usually times out. I have to use the "try again" link and eventually it will be able to load but then still images take long, the page itself and links take forever as well.

It is not my internet as the other computer runs well and as usual. I have tried clearing ALL history including cookies and cache.

I can't think of anything that I could have done that would have made it slow.

I thank you in advance for your help and look forward to hearing from you.

Best,

Ann

A:Pages loading extremely slow or not at all on Firefox

I'm sorry I forgot to add that I recently added FastestFox (Firefox add-on) but am not sure that it's working and don't have any other add-ons except for the "pin-it" button.

I have also tried updating Flash and Quicktime as Firefox told me the versions I had were outdated.

Hey, only just today I have started to experience slow loading times for firefox and chrome but internet explorer loads pages just fine.

I have tried all of the following with no help:

Re-installing the browsers
Running CCleaner
Running the browsers in private mode
Uninstalling java
Restarting the computer
Scanning for viruses (BitDefender 2012)
Disabling my anti-virus
Assigning my computer a different static IP address
Restarting the modem

On average it would take roughly about 5 minutes to load google.com via firefox or chrome where as it would take a few seconds on internet explorer.

I'm not too sure if I was required to run any programs and have any attachments for this specific issue, so if it is required please let me know,

All help is greatly appreciated.

I got Windows XP as my OS. Mozilla has started to "fail" at loading web pages and or takes forever to load them. My desktop is fast at all other things and my internet connection is fine taking into consideration I can play online games, download stuff(even though it takes forever to get to the page lol), etc etc. To get a desired web page to show up I have to keep refreshing the page. Often times it will go black white and the status bar will say: Done.

Any ideas?

A:Mozilla Firefox loading Webpages abnormally slow.

Which version of Firefox are you using?

Disable all your addons temporarily, then restart Firefox. If this fixes it, re-enable the addons one at a time, restarting after each one until the problem comes back.

I'm using an external monitor that scales at 100% (1440p 32"). The internal monitor is 4K, so scales at 250%. In a day I might need to plug and unplug the external monitor (from HDMI port) several times, and after a few times, it seems to struggle with switching between the scaling of external and internal monitors. On Chrome, for example, scrolling sometimes is noticeably lagging, and new pages will flash multiple times as they are loading. Moving Chrome over to the internal monitor (with 250% scaling) and everything seems to work fine. Restarting Chrome doesn't change the issue. A whole reboot is necessary.
I would guess it's a driver issue. I also have light screen flickering, though I only notice it when not using the external monitor.

Weird problem, iniatially with IE6.

Certain websites are not downloading. Title bar completes, so I know there is connectivity, screen stays blank, click view source, you can see that most of the web page has downloaded, but is never displayed. Installed Firefox and is doing much the same thing though eventually the page is displayed. Example sites affected are www.play.com and en.wikipedia.org

Ran a Hijackthis and did not spot anything unusual. If it helps, I will get the log, left on the users machine to which I currently don't have access

A:All browsers (chrome, firefox, etc) loading pages REALLY slow, Im pretty savvy..

I have noticed a less responsive downloading of pages for several weeks.
I don't have the extreme issues you are experiencing.
It just seems browsing takes more time for the page to complete.

I use Charter, who has just finished major upgrades to fiber and now provide a 60 MbS bandwidth. (Tests @ 63 MbS)
Does not matter the time of day or what is running, although I only use firefox.

You seem confident that it is not a computer bug, then you may try a network analyzer that will monitor and display all packet activity and information. Wireshark is free and if you have the time to understand what it displays you may find something.

I'm not a IT pro...yet. Still in training...I'm going to try my own advice to see what I may discover.

I just finished reading your post below the screen shot.

It appears that the CSS for the page isn't taking effect.*

Have you tried disabeling your anti-virus before starting a page download?

Do you use a registry cleaner/scanner? eusing free registry cleaner is FREE.

Try downloading in Safety mode with network ability...While your there do a security scan with another anti-virus program...Kapersky has a free scan and removal tool...that is, they did when I was Norton user...

*Theremay be an issue which is preventing your browser/s  from loading all of the page information.

Hello guys logging to this site after a long hiatus good streak of problem-free PC I recently bought a Acer Q LA laptop and installed many software on it mainly GOG games Sophos WinRAR virtual clone drive nothing illegal or dubious Not sure if this is relevant but somehow I downloaded Trovi search engine but I uninstalled it via add remove programs changed homepage settings and search engine in Firefox and IE and ran MBAM so I believe I have removed it completely Now my problem is this I noticed that I am having trouble with both firefox and IE in that I will have multiple instances of slow loading manager, in firefox and hang process, Can't kill task multiple IE both in task Can't kill multiple firefox and IE in task manager, hang process, slow loading manager that I am unable to force kill process giving me message that access is denied As a result I cannot open new firefox after the last one is closed In addition when I was able to open firefox after restarting my PC both firefox and IE take forever to load pages with spinning logos on the tabs What is perplexing is that sometimes these web browsers linger in task manager after restarting even if I didn't start these programs So as of now I have IE and firefox in my task manager that I cannot kill and excruciating slow loading of web pages or inability to open new firefox without restarting I ran both MBAM and Sophos didn't detect any malware virus What do I do next Am I in right forum Thank you for you help

A:Can't kill multiple firefox and IE in task manager, hang process, slow loading

The task manager should show a process for each tab in IE and for each separate window for Firefox. I would suggest uninstalling Firefox and re-installing, to see if the problem returns.

Within IE, go to "Manage add-ons" by clicking on the cog icon in the top right hand corner (Tools (ALT + X)) and look through the extensions, toolbars, etc., to see if anything suspicious is there (disable anything you are unsure about).

Hi,
I am having a problem with the web browsers (IE 8 and Firefox 3.6.7) on my computer.
Pages load very slow and half of the time during load I am getting an error: server not found.
I verified that all the hardware is working properly (cable modem, router and wires)
I have another computer connected to the network and there are no problems with this computer.
Steps I have done so far:
1) deleted history, temp files from the both browsers.
2) Re-installed both browsers.
3) I ran Malwarebytes Anti-Malware program.
Log shows 15 files infected, 4 registry keys infected and 1 memory modules infected.
Removed all the infections.

Please Help

thank you.

A:IE and Firefox are very slow, many errors on page loads. 15 files infected.

A:Opening up either my IE or Firefox browser results in painfully slow web page loads..

Hi Mark and welcome to TSF.

Download L2MFix from one of these two locations:

http://www.atribune.org/downloads/l2mfix.exe
http://www.downloads.subratam.org/l2mfix.exe

Save the file to your desktop and double click l2mfix.exe. Click the Install button to extract the files and follow the prompts. Then open the newly added l2mfix folder on your desktop. Double click l2mfix.bat and select option #1 for Run Find Log by typing 1 and then pressing Enter. This will scan your computer and it may appear nothing is happening. After a minute or 2, notepad will open with a log. Copy the contents of that log and paste it into this thread.

IMPORTANT: Do NOT run option #2 or any other files in the l2mfix folder until you are asked to do so!

A:Browsing/page Loading Speed Is Good But Downloading Speed Is Too Slow

Have you monitored your system with Windows Task Manager while downloading? If you determine Firefox is causing the problem, try safe mode and/or a new profile. Sometimes settings and/or extensions got corrupted leading to strange behavior. Standard diagnostic - Firefox

Hi I appear to be having trouble with my firefox browser My operating system is Windows I have an Acer Aspire V - G which I bought some months ago System details Processor Intel Core i - MQ GHz with Turbo Boost up to GHz Installed Memory RAM GB DDR L Memory System type -bit Operating x - based processor A few days ago my firefox Really pages, browser loading glitchy slow pages of Firefox scrolling and issue. browser which for no apparent reason at all just seemed to slow to a stupendously very slow loading of pages I had recently just been working on an issue in which I posted a thread regarding whether there was a possible virus malware after google chrome terminated with the following message from Hitman Pro Alert Firefox browser issue. Really slow loading pages, and glitchy scrolling of pages Attack Intercepted 'Google Chrome ' Firefox browser issue. Really slow loading pages, and glitchy scrolling of pages has been terminated to prevent execution of malicious code Please check your computer for malware and software updates As it happened it appeared to be because of a conflict somewhere in the Google Chrome Trusteer Rapport and Hitman Pro Alert combination and so the only way was to change the settings on Hitman Pro Alert as advised and shown in my thread http www bleepingcomputer com forums t possible-virus-or-malaware However there was no malware or virus detected by my own Avast or Malwareware bytes tools and the tools used as instructed in the thread also showed my system to have none Also google chrome works fine and my computer has not slowed in any way My firefox did have quite a few extensions but they were not all bundled under the same profile I had different profiles for different purpose General browing Online banking Gaming Media extension and so on so I would have not expected any significant slowing of the browser unless an extension was problematic I don't appear to suffer any overheating to my laptop and keep it relatively clean from dust as possible I had also run CHDSK which showed no errors I defragmented my hard drive which showed little fragmentation So then I uninstalled every single extension in order to see if one of them might have been the culprit This did not seem to improve the speed much whatever firefox profile I ran So I then I ran firefox in safe mode which did approach something like normal speed but once back in normal mode even without any add ons extensions etc it just reverts back to loading at a snail's pace As my machine is clean it can't be a malware or some other issue from a bad add-on extension or otherwise it's not picking up that it is so I don't know that that could be the culprit Then I refreshed the browser so that it removed all extensions add ons bookmarks plug ins etc and moved them to a folder called Old firefox data Again running firefox in normal mode it was still excruciatingly slow I then decided that I would uninstall firefox and reinstall it but that doesn't seem to have resolved the problem I also had all my tweaks set how I wanted it on about config before which was lost in reinstalling it and would have started the process of rebuilding my browser redoing the profiles and reinstalling the extensions but for the fact my browser remains slow There are some other recommended links I am reading of people with similar problems that I am reading to find a solution but in the meantime I thought I would start a thread here and hope that someone could help assist me in getting to the root of the problem and finding a solution Thank you

any services not on the jpg are not running, may have something to do with it maybe?

A:page page display error on internet explorer and firefox

It could be your firewall, and also in FireFox theres an option to block images from certain websites maybe you sometimes clicked on that by acciddent. You can go to settings and see if those sites are on the list.

Do I need a formula? If so were do i put it so that I may get the page numbers on each page?

A:Hard-drives not loading. PC extremely slow. Windows not loading properly. HELP!

Hello,

Sounds like a bad hard disk, remove the second disk you installed, and try it out. Does it behave better?

If so, you should reinstall the drive and either:

1. Boot and run 'chkdsk' on the drive. Open a command prompt and type 'chkdsk E:\ /r', assuming the second drive mounts as "E:\", verify this before you run this command, and change as appropriate. Keep in mind that on a particularily large and errored disk this can take hours or,

2. Run the diagnostics that the manufacturer offers on it's web site and test the drive (do a long verify test...not a short one). Fix any errors you encounter. It's best if you get a bootable floppy (or like) version rather than a tool that you install in your windows.

(also a very long test, 500GB SATA2 Seagate's with the 'Seatools for DOS' for example take nearly 4 hours!)

Using chkdsk is very good at keeping your data intact, using Seatools is not, and could corrupt filesystem data (FAT, NTFS, etc.) when you affect a repair, however it is important to fix any errors you encounter to ensure good performance and life of the drive.

If the drive won't repair or BSOD's (crashes) during these operations I would try to backup any data from this drive in your normal setup and then get rid of the drive.

Post back any results from the steps you followed.

Good luck.
