EVGA GeForce 8400 GS on an Intel D101ggc has a bluish tint and dull

Q: EVGA GeForce 8400 GS on an Intel D101ggc has a bluish tint and dull

I just installed a EVGA geforce 8400 gs onto an intel board that does have onboard video. I set the display adapter to PCI-e on the BIOS but when I use the card the screen has a light blue tint to everything and the colors just look really off. I've tried changing the setting with the nvidia control panel but I just can't get a true white at all. When I take the card out and use the onboard video it looks perfect. I've updated the BIOS on the MoBo, the driver for the evga card but nothing works. I'm using windows xp sp2. Any thoughts? Thanks.

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

It appears you have answered your own question. If still under warranty, I would find a way to replace it.

A few days ago, I noticed that whenever I view or download an ad or movie trailer on my computer, the picture on the video has a strange, bluish tint, yet the monitor's picture is still just fine. The only thing that I can think of that it might be is the video card, because the monitor's picture is still normal. What exactly is the problem here and is there anything that I can do to restore it to normal?

Thanks in advance.

Yesterday we had a power outage of a few seconds due Bluish screen. tint to to high winds The monitor displays color problems When the BIOS starts instead being white on a dark screen it is bluish When Scandisk ran the progress meter becomes greenish After Windows boots up all the colors are bluish tint I uninstalled the Video driver and re-installed it No change in color This evening I tried Bluish tint to screen. the same monitor on another tower The monitor itself is OK Does anyone know if the problem is In the Video card Or in the Power Supply Or in the MOBO I have an unused Video card of about the same vintage I do not know if that Video card is any good at all To be honest Yesterday I was also trying to put a modem in the tower Windows Bluish tint to screen. will not see the modem There are some other strange behaviors which I have not explained The MOBO clearly has three slots for SDRAM DIMM When I run Belarc it shows five slots The first slot has one MB The second slot shows empty The third shows one MB The fourth is empty and the fifth is MB In reality when the BIOS boots it tests up to MB and Windows says MB It has been my hunch that someone mixed up memory types Either someone knew a lot about what they were doing Or very little I did not worry about this The tower seemed to work in a stable manner No crashes Hangs or such It is an AMD K MGhz Any sugggestions nbsp

Had the back off the hard drive yesterday to clean it. Since putting it back on my screen on the monitor has a very light bluish tint to it. Someone said my monitor is "dying". Was wondering if that was the case or I damaged something putting the wires back into the back of the computer. I have a old 2004 Dell xp home. How long is a monitor supposed to last in general? Appreciate your input. Thanks/coaler

A:monitor screen has bluish tint

Had the back off the hard drive yesterday to clean it.Hello -First, I hope it was not the Hard Drive, but just the Computer Case (box) that you mean !!A monitor will last quite a long time, this has done 2 XP setups so far, but at some times they do fail. The easy check is to borrow another one, and run your computer off that to see the result - You will (should) not harm the other one -First open Control Panel > System > Hardware > Device Manager, and see if there are any Red or Yellow ( ! or ? ) marks beside any items. If there is, plese post back with any and all details -Thank You -

I have an Epson 1400 which I use with my Windows 7 PC. I usually use premium photo glossy paper (level #4 quality), though I haven't been printing much lately. I had to print a bunch of simple images today, of people, and they all came out with a bluish tint.

* I unchecked photo enhance. * I have the correct paper type selected. * I selected "best quality photo."

Any ideas?

I'm having some trouble with my current system not booting. I've already commented on another post on this forum for a similiar problem, and on another forum as well (see this post).

If this cpu is in my mobo, I can't boot the system immediately. Once it runs, it's fine, but getting it started is the problem. When I insert my old Celeron D it works perfectly. Also, the CPU has been tested and it appears to be fine. Look at my other post to see the specifics, or ask me and I'll post it here.

Does anyone have any ideas? Also, the last suggestion was to change my CPU voltage in case it might be undervolting, but my bios doesn't support voltage changes. Any suggestions?

OK, I received this as a gift for my birthday on the 22 nd of this month (geforce 8400 gs). I wanted the 8600 gt but my dad, being of 65 yrs. old let the clerk at the retail store (C.C.) talk him into something else. I don't plan on doing a lot of gaming, some and video editing and capture to burn to dvd. It has one dvi and one svga port for monitors. I plan on switching to the dvi. Is this still a good enough graphics card for my needs or should I go for the 8600 as I planned.

Welcome to Windows Seven Forums.
Your graphic card is a low-end graphic card for basic display. This card isn't made for gaming at all; even with overclocking. You will need to afford a new graphic card if you want to play games.

Most likely you have an onboard, so you just need to go into the bios, and ensure the card is first boot.

Obviously, the graphics would look nicer but would anything else be affected like how fast the loading time of the games are and do you get more frames per second?

Do you know how to install a Graphic card EVGA NVIDIA GEFORCE 8400 in a PC running Vista 32x?

So far I've spent two weeks looking a solution but it seems almost imposible.

When I try to install the card always get an ansewr saying that system could not find any driver for this hardware.

This is what I have done:
1. clear MOS and update it
2. try almost every driver from mobo manufacturer (Biostar pm4900), form NVIDIA, from EVGA.
3. set PCI priority in Bios
4. unistall VGA drivers for the Moboard.

I'm really desperate, my next step could be trhow it by the window.

Even though i disable the onboard function in BIOS, it still wont boot up with the 8400....

I also removed the fan after all of that happend, and I'm hoping a new fan will fix it. -Sam

Vista 64 ultimate with dual NVidia 8400 GS, on 4 monitors, running non-SLI mode crashed when ever opening a PDF file.

Although the check from newer drivers indicated that the system already had the latest, I installed the latest drivers from NVidia website anyway. The driver installation package ran through without error, and requested a reboot. Curiously, Vista complained that the installation may not have been completed correctly. Ignoring the Vista warning message (what was I to do anyway?), I rebooted. After reboot I was able to open PDF file.

When I originally configured the system, I had attempted to operate my video in SLI mode. I could not get SLI to work with two cards/4 monitors. Ultimately, I configured in non-SLI mode. I now wonder, if trying out different configurations placed the video cards in an unstable configuration - which was cleared up when I reinstalled the drivers.

i dont mind playing the lowest possible graphics

A:Can I play Medal of Honor 2010 with GeForce 8400 GS?

You must be running Vista 32-bit. You need a 64-bit operating system to "see" 4GB or more of system RAM. With playing on-line games, your Internet speed is more important than your hardware. What type of Internet access do you have, DSL, Cable?

I have the HP Pavilion 550-153w  and I want to put in EVGA GeForce GTX 950 FTW GAMING ACX 2.0. Will my system handle it?

The question would be why? What do you want for it?  A particular game? Of concern is the i3-4170 processor.  If it's a game, go to game-debate and do the "Can I play It".The GTX 950  peaks at 90W. Your system would require a minimum of 350W. I would recommend a Corsair CX 500, provided that your processor is sufficient (which I really doubt).

I can not decide between these two cards. The Evga is just barely faster than the PNY and I know Evga's a really good company for video cards, but so is PNY, and right now I have a PNY 7800GT. I just don't know which one to buy. I've read some reviews of people saying that the Evga is loud and uses a lot of power. As of right now I'm leaning toward the PNY.

A:GeForce 7950, PNY or Evga?

Well, I'd get EVGA. They offer a great warranty, and should make great, quality cards.

And an EVGA card will use the same power as a PNY card. I don't know what is that people talking about :unch:

My card normally runs around MHz idle and has a stock boost clock of MHz I've managed to up this to MHz MHz without any voltage adjustments and with the fans Geforce EVGA SC 970 overclocking GTX around it still floats in the low to mid s for temps currently C I've been informed that with a little voltage adjustment I should be able to go as high as MHz but I'm not sure if it's worth potentially shortening the lifespan of my card for an extra MHz The most demanding game I play is Minecraft laugh it up go ahead EVGA Geforce GTX 970 SC overclocking with Sonic Ether's Unbelievable Shaders which is very demanding on hardware I've seen an overall framerate increase of about - fps for my efforts As this is my first time overclocking a graphics card I'm looking for someone with a little more experience in the area to tell me if I should quiet down and be satisfied with what I've gotten out of this relatively mediocre card or if I should go ahead and push it a little further

That is a very good OC. I OC for benchmarks, but run stock for games. as long as you maintain low temps like you have, you are good.

Warcraft not running well on Nvidia Geforce 8400? using the PCI slot for the graphics card I m gonna try changing to Omega drivers and see if that helps Anyone have any other suggestions nbsp

A:World of Warcrack... Warcraft not running well on Nvidia Geforce 8400?

Okay update: Using Nvidia Geforce 8400 with Omega drivers (version 2.169.21). Testing WoW to see how it goes.

Okay, so the jitter problem was fixed easily when someone suggested selecting Vertical Sync, and taking it out of Windowed mode when playing full screen.

That aside, I'm still only getting 10 fps at a good moment.

I've found what causes it to drop from around 40fps to about 7 - 10 fps... the shadow detail.
Now my question is why? Can anyone explain that to me?

im working on a EVGA GeForce 7600 GS and the cooling fan is got a bad bearing and i have searched and searched for a replacementy for it and it seems they r not out there?!?

seems that it would be a common fix?!?

anybody have any suggestions??

A:cooling fan for a EVGA GeForce 7600 GS

Contact EVGA. If you recently purchased the card within the past 30 days, they should ship you a new fan for your card.If not, you'll have to try and match one up from an older graphics card. This may or may not work. For the time being, take off the case and place a fan as close to your case as possible to keep the temps down. This is only a temp fix, but it will buy you some time to find the correct fan.
There are also graphics card fans that plug into a pci slot specifically designed to cool the card. The run around $$20 US and some work better than the onboard fan.

I recently bought a geforce 6800 gt 256 mb video card by EVGA. And my favorite game, Battlefield 2, cant handle it on all high settings on 1024x768 resolution. It runs well, but sometimes, i get frame drop to like 20. Thats with Anti aliasing turned off.
So i am deciding to buy this cooling for it.

And was wondering how much i can bring up the core clock speed up by, and if that speed would make any differnce?
Here are my system spec

-Amd Athlon 64, 3200+ (With Dynamic overlocking enable, which increases processor speed by 10 % under heavy load)
-MSI K8t neo MB
-2 gig corsair XMS ram
-AC97 audio onboard sound
oh yeah, the card is AGP version.

A:Overclocking My EVGA Geforce 6800 gt

every single card is different. I`ve had some cards that will clock to the sky, I`ve had others that would hardly do 10MHz over stock, it`s just luck of the draw as to how good your card will overclock. I use coolbits to overclock as it`s about the easiest and has an auto detect feature which most times gives you a good overclock, but also keeps you in a 'safe' theory anyway.

A:eVGA GeForce 9600 GSO Problem

It needs that power connection, usually there is a cable that comes with that card that you can attach one end (2x 4 pins) to the PSU and the other 6-pin to the graphic card.

It might just need that power.

If it still doesn't work, even if you think it is seated perfect take it out and put it back in.

You know it seems unlikely but I just bought a 9600 GT yesterday and put it in. I had the exact same problem. Power was connected, it was in just fine and yet no signal.

I took it out and made sure there was no dust and that it was in there correctly when I put it back in and It is working fine for me now.

So i have tried my hardest to get this stupid graphics card installed on my widows 10 64bit desktop. The problem is rather straightforward, no matter how many methods i try i can't get a signal to my monitor with the card in. Likely because i don't have the drivers. I plug it in right, i put in the 6pin pci like it says, turn it on to a black screen. I tried installing the drivers without the card in but of course it has to be in or the disk won't install the drivers.

I'm willing to try everything that won't cause permanent damage to my computer, this thing is gonna have to last me a long time. So please give me a hand here. The closest i got to anything working was a blue screen of death which was fixed by the programming in the pc itself. "Whew"

While booted but not into windows 7, its nice and quiet - don't know the idle speed. same with safe mode or whatever else, until the Nvidia driver set loads up, then it goes up considerably and is really annoying.

anyway to do this? I'm fighting with MSI Afterburner utility but so far can't find a way to do anything that the Driver spec doesn't already have builtin

NVIDIA’s 7950 GX2 is a logical extension of SLI in putting two cards on a single board and does its job well.

Advantages of the card include higher performance than any other single video card on the market, improved AA modes and more. Once NVIDIA releases the driver for SLI of two of the 7950s, it will likely outperform anything on the market.

That card is a good choice. I'd go for a better psu with that thing, you'd barely make it.

On the other hand look into a 4890 1gb, it does beat out the 260 in some benchmarks and is a bit cheaper.

Easy strait forward upgrade, NO PSU upgrade required, size of the card makes it easy to install, scores better than GTX 980 with less power consumption. Just make sure you clean uninstall the previous card download the driver form Evga for the new one and your done. 10-15 min upgrade.
I don't game so I cant day how well it does but I will be using this for video editing so i will post updates if needed. Here is a bench-test I've done:

I just bought an EVGA GeForce GTX 260 Core 216 Superclocked....the 896-P3-1257-AR with the 626 Core clocks speed...etc. Anyway I was wondering if it's worth using EVGA's Step Up program to get a vanilla GTX 275?

I know the 275 has 240 shader processors vs 216 with the newer 260 but is it worth the upgrade? Also, I'm looking at the 896MB RAM too, not the 1792MB version (although I'd like to have it but can't afford it).

It should not be too much of a problem to install the new video card. You just open the case and install the card in the AGP slot on the motherboard. The card should be autodetected on boot up

I personally think you'd be better off getting a Geforce 8400GS, or ATi HD4350, or Geforce 210GT for that kind of money. I've no idea which is better of the three, but they're all under 50 bucks.

I would have recommended the HD4670 if it wasn't over 100 bucks, which is shocking given the price I paid for it here in the UK a year ago!

I'm having difficulty deciding between these two cards, and am upgrading from an EVGA Geforce GTX 650TI Boost Superclocked 2GB. Please help me in deciding which of the three cards is the best, the prices and links are listed below:

EVGA GeForce GTX 660 FTW ACX Cooler 2GB - $159.99

ASUS Radeon HD 7870 1.0GHZ 2GB - $154.99

I would appreciate any quick responses, as these sales are bound to end very soon!

A:EVGA Geforce GTX 660 FTW Edition vs. Asus Radeon HD 7870

The ACX cooling blows the heat right into your case, I had the 760 4 GB w ACX cooling. But it was still a good card.

You should go with a 700 series card, bought directly from EVGA.

EVGA | Products | Graphics - GeForce 700 Series Family

That price for the 660 is after a mail in rebate, something I never even consider when buying pc parts. You have to look at the total price you`ll be charged, shipping and tax included.

I`m thinking the 7870 would be the better of the 2 cards you have listed. AMD owners would have to chime in.

I have an EVGA GeForce GTX 550 Ti, wanted to update the driver, and it kept giving me a BSOD. When I play games it never gives me a BSOD. I've attached the dump to this thread. It looks like you have Driver Verifier enabled, this may be left over from the last time you had BSOD problems (Im guessing some one asked you to enable driver verifier). try disabling driver verifier by following this tutorial:

The PSU is one of the most important parrts of your computer. Don't go cheap. Seasonic or Corsair make quality PSU's. 600w to 650w should be sufficient for your computer if it is a quality PSU.

Hi Ken, Look aon the top back of the graphics card for a switch.  See the below image. You should have received a pamphlet in the box describing the use of the switch (legacy mode or UEFI mode).  If your PC has a version 8 HP BIOS then disable secure boot if set. If your PC is not at a version 8 BIOS level then the switch should be in legacy position.  The pamphlet should describe the use of the switch.

About 2 days ago i was playing a game on my computer when the game froze up all of the sudden and i had to restart. When i restarted my computer it showed the bios screen displaying white lines running vertically in pairs of four down my screen. Currently the only way i can start Windows is via safemode where the vertical lines still display my computer information is displayed below

Cpu = Athlon 64 FX-53
Mobo = Giga-byte GA-K8NNXP-940

I have reset my computer many times and reset and updated my bios as well. The video card did not have anything blocking the fan to cause it to overheat. I also checked the monitor plug and plugged a additional monitor into the video card but it still did not work. If anyone could give me any ideas it would be greatly appriciated.

I just installed my new EVGA GeForce GTX750 1G G-Sync video card and it works great, but I'm getting a really high pitched whining sound from it.

I know the older versions of this card had noisy fans but this one is quiet except for this high pitched noise. I saw threads in the EVGA forum for similar problems on other EVGA cards.

I think I'm going to return it but would like to know what is an equivalent card for a similar price. I paid $102 for it and I now see it for $109 so something in that price range would be great.

I'm not a gamer, just wanted a decent video card with a DVI output so I could use my DVI KVM switch with my two Desktop computers.

A:High pitched whining sound from new EVGA GeForce GTX750 1G

Back in 2007 I had a noisy fan in a brand new desktop. And (after considerable angst) the source was the NVIDIA GeForce graphics card. Turned out there was a white wire touching the GeForce fan under the card, and that was the source of the noise. I moved the wire and restarted the machine. It was totally quiet. Perhaps a quick look at your fan to make sure nothing is touching it?

This should answer your question. The GTX 660 has 30FPS with ultra quality at 1680x1050. Lowering the quality settings to high, raised the frame rate to nearly 50FPS.

Final Thought:

If you can live with high settings however, you'll boost your frame rates by around 60%, sometimes as much as 80%, which is enough to make the GTX 660 and HD 7850 practical options. ...
Fortunately, there's less to consider when choosing a processor -- just make sure you have a quad-core chip. It doesn't even have to be a new one, as even the Core i7-920 and Phenom II X4 980 took care of business. ...Click to expand...

Side note:

As was the case with Battlefield 3, as long as your processor has four cores/threads, it shouldn't have a problem in EA's latest shooter. The only processors to struggle were the dual-core AMD Phenom and Athlon CPUs, while the game can utilize up to eight threads if your chip has them on tap.Click to expand...

Another improvement would be to get 8GB memory. In my opinion 4GB is boarder-line to being sufficient.

Hmm that didn't happen to me when I put mines in. Did you install the NVIDIA drivers? Try disabling the onboard in the device manager. That?s what I did. There doesn?t seem to be an option to turn it off in the bios (my bios) maybe there is for you however. It isn?t too complicated. Just simply look for onboard graphics or integrated graphics controller or w/e and select disable, but first try disabling it in the device manager. It should be listed under display adapters -> properties -> disable this device.

You should upgrade to DX9.0c...
