Preferred Solution: I have lost Network Device

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/directdownload.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Go to the Gigabyte website and find the LAN driver for your motherboard.

Problem, after trying to remove a virus/maleware/currupted exe's, i seemed to have lost any information in my Device Manager and all my Network connections (both LAN and WIFI).

Not sure if this would have caused this, When dealing with the exe problems (whether it was virus, maleware or anything) i was in safemode.. I did a msconfig and clicked on boot.ini. I checked safeboot. Apon the next reboot i had no network connections, no device manager. But interesting enough my problem went away and was able to access anything again. I went back into msconfig to renable boot.ini to the original setting and an still have the same problem...
So my problem is i have NO network connections, no LAN or WIFI options.

Only after i enabled Safeboot in Boot.INI in MSCONFIG.

MSCONFIG settings set back to original settings.

System restore was apperntly off.
Any ideas?

Hi

Might be a stoopid question ...

My XBox360 is wired by ethernet into my home network (via Devolo homeplug behind TV).

My music server (Win7 netbook) is not wired, but on the wireless network.

Can I get the XBox to "see" the media folders on the netbook (to play music etc.) using this setup or do I have to have both clients on the same wireless network ?

The Xbox automatically disconnects from the wireless network when ethernet is used.

thanks

Hello.

Here is my issue: I'm missing my Conexant playback device. I have an HP Pavillion 2610us notebook which is running Windows Vista Home Premium 32 bit OS. All of a sudden, I've lost all sounds, but iTunes, Pandora and other programs seems to be working well and continue to play tracks. After checking my control panel, I've noticed that my Conexant is missing. However, there is still the Speakers: Bluetooth Hands Free Audio and Bluetooth Stereo Audio in my Device Manager. I've tried the following steps:

1. Ran HP Recovery Manager to re-install original audio drivers. However, "Driver Installation Failed: Could not find the device for this driver" appeared and was unsuccessful.

2. I've downloaded and attempted to install the Conexant driver, sp37858, specific for this notebook, from the HP website. Still, "Driver Installation Failed: could not find the device for this driver."

These were all ran as administrator. Any useful suggestions?

go to device manager update your driver there. When it asks if you want to look on the internet say no. Browse to the downloaded file you downloaded from their site

Hello!

I have an "Icy Box" USB2 external hard drive enclosure with a 160Gb drive installed connected to a USB2 socket on my XP Home Edition computer.

After turning the device on, it is recognised by the computer & an icon appears in the System Tray indicating that I can safely remove it if I want to so.

My problem is that after a while, (the time varies), the device fails to be recognised by the computer. I have to turn the power off to the device then turn it back on again. The device is then recognised again.

Any help on this matter would be appreciated - many thanks!

Best wishes to you all.

Tim Cutler.

A:Lost USB2 Device.

Unplug ALL USB devices.
Open Device Manager.
View, Show Hidden Devices.
Uninstall all devices under USB Controllers.
Uninstall all devices under Storage Volumes. Say no to any reboot prompts until you are finished. Also, if a Storage Volume doesn't uninstall, ignore it and move to the next one.
If you have a yellow ? with unknown devices, uninstall all of the entries there as well.

When this is done, reboot TWICE.

Reconnect the USB devices and see if they're recognized properly.

Hello all,

I'm new here and would like to ask a question. I have a compaq presario that my brother-in-law upgraded from windows xp to windows 7. Well, because of that, I lost my audio device. I have a high definition audio device listed with a yellow sign next to it. And I have get an error message that says "This device cannot start (code 10)". I updated the driver and it says it's up-to-date. I also tried to uninstall and reinstall to no avail. I also clicked on the volume button to troubleshoot the driver and I get a message that says high definition audio device has a problem.

I went to windows support, but they have no audio drivers for windows 7. Is there anything else I can do? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
varstrom

My computer has lost the d drive. I have a Compaq Pesario 5461. I was having trouble installing a game and downloaded a new driver from the Compaq website. It apparantly was not the right one and the computer would no longer reconize the d drive. I was getting "d: device not ready". I contacted Compaq support who advised me to delete the cdrom from properties and the computer would auto detect it. It hasn't. I have tried taking the cdrw completely out and putting it back in, but it still doesn't auto detect it. It is completely out of device manager and won't reinstall. I searched this site but I'm not sure exactlly what to do in bios to correct.

Have lost access to device manager after uninstalling Norton v 6 in Windows 7 system.

Had explorer problems after installing version 6.0 of Norton and decided to uninstall Norton. Unfortunately this seems to have created some weird results like not being able to access device manager.

Can run services and this shows Plug and Play are started automatically; does anyone of you know whether Norton made some register changes and/or some other magic that makes device manager unaccessable after uninstalling.

Many thanks in advance

A:Direct 3D device lost problem

Hmm....in looking at your system specs, I see one possible weak point, the 350w power supply. Granted, it's an Antec, so the quality is there, but I don't really know if 350w is enough for a 64-bit CPU, an x800XL, and other stuff as well. That Direct3D error can be caused by power management problems, so it sounds like a possible candidate to me.

Try unplugging anything you don't need from your computer - run with one hard drive, one CD drive, and unplug any lights you have on. You can unplug case fans as well (NOT fans that are on heatsinks though), as long as you leave the case open and give it proper ventilation. If it helps at all, then that's probably it. That's just what popped out right away for me.

Hi
I have a LAN with two computers with Windows 7 SP1 Enterprise, a NAS and a network printer multifunction.
This network is managed by a hardware firewall. The two computers do not have any firewall and antivirus and all network devices have the same workgroup.
On the network window of a computer, all network devices are displayed immediately. While, on the other computer, the computer with Windows 7 immediately appears; however, the other network devices were displayed after a long wait.
Since yesterday, on this computer, only this network devices are not displayed more; while the other computer displays all regularly.
Thanks
Bye

I see that windows 8 is having problems with drivers upgrade like Elan wireless touch pads my is lost and not found as device in my device manager and I cant figure if the problem is only driver issue or also wireless detection.
Is there some body who knows about this and can help me please.

A:Windows 8 lost my wireless touch pad device

1) What is the make/model of your computer?
2) Did the computer come with Windows 8 installed, or did you upgrade?
3) What version of Windows 8 is your computer running?
4) Did any of the devices that you are having trouble with now work OK in the past? (in Windows 8? or?)
5) Did you mean to say the you are having trouble with your touchpad, and with your wireless connections to the Internet?
6) Or did you mean that you have some sort of wireless device that includes a touchpad? -- If so, have you visited the support website from its manufacturer for updated Windows 8 drivers?

Have been cleaning drive with Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware program and now, with almost all of the malware removed, XP Pro does not display the device manager upon demand, as well as no network adapter present and not able to even open the 'add hardware' icon in the control panel.

I also had run a new driver install for the wireless intel since I had the BSOD for w22n51.sys. It didn't install, saying the driver I had was up to date - I know now to uninstall the driver prior to attempting to update it since it is ver 8 or older. Until I get that done, I can't even display, let alone change anything.

Presently the computer is started in 'diagnostic' startup. Looking for some quick fixes - greatly appreciated!

I have looked on the Intel Support website but can't find the chipset here is the details from a Everest Report

Device Properties
Driver Description: Video Controller (VGA Compatible)
Hardware ID: PCI/VEN_8086&DEV_27A2&SUBSYS_ 0F711019&REV_03
PCI Device: Intel 82940GML/943GML Graphics Controller 0 [A-3]

A:Lost Audio Device after upgrading to XP pro on old VBOX computer

You can try downloading and installing Everest Free 2.2 from Major Geeks.

I don't remember the section, but I think you want Multimedia...could just be Audio---it'll tell you everything from mainboard to chipset to modem to...you get the picture.

That will get you the specifics...if there was a Sound Blaster or some other mainstream audio device, XP probably would have recognized and installed it.

Much luck...

Oh...and some older boxes might even have used the voice modem as a sound device.
Can you post a screencap of the device manager with all the categories expanded?
There may be clues in the chipset there.

A:No boot device found new Dell XPS 13, lost valuable files!

Update. Left the bottom of the case off and propped the laptop up on something to leave a lot of space underneath. Got in a room with air conditioning. No idea if this helped but the laptop stayed on for 30 minutes, enough time to extract all files to a USB thumb drive.

Immediately after I started firefox. It worked but on first page load got the blue screen of death again and on reboot "no bootable device found". Anyone have a clue what's going on here?

Have a Lost ipad on our wireless network.. 50+ wifi access points.. and thousands of wifi devices connected to them..

nmap the lost device but not showing what access point its connected too.

can ping the device.

tracert shows my computer directly to lost device. will not trace thru which access point.

i can see wireless controller ip and all wifi access points.. but cannot trace the lost device.

can ping the device and see it.. shows up in my inventory just needing a way to trace route or nmap it to see where at in the building its connected tooo. so can narrow down the access point..

hi - i was just playing music on my dell latitude e4300 via bluetooth to a belkin bluetooth receiver connected to stereo.

somehow the connection got dropped - during a phone call on a land line. may be irrelevant.

now, i cannot get bluetooth connection back. there is no bluetooth icon in the system tray.

i cannot find 'bluetooth' devices in start>control panel> devices
--i have 2, and both ought to be there.

i unplugged bluetooth receiver, and had win 7 search for devices to add - no luck.

sure, i can reboot, and everything will probably come back.
but i am hoping for a better answer. i don't want to have to reboot every time the bluetooth connection gets lost.

i searched the web for a little, but only found unrelated posts, or posts with no answer. THANKS!

A:Bluetooth connection lost, icon gone from system tray, not in device manager

bluetooth light/icon on laptop, not screen is on; no bt

ok, i rebooted, thinking the bluetooth icon would again be in system tray, with the red in the middle, showing i have bluetooth capability, but that sound is not currently being directed to bluetooth.

no icon.

the dell laptop does have bluetooth icon illuminated on the laptop, just above the function keys - not on the screen at all / not in sys tray.

the bluetooth receiver is on, is working.

'add a device' is not finding this bt thingie.

Running W10 Pro with Anniversary Update.

I use a WD MyCloud NAS connected via ethernet. I have three media players also connected via ethernet using powerlines. Never had a problem until today. Now none of the media players can find or connect to the network. The NAS doesn't appear in the Network page unless I type its address into the Network bar. Tried all of the fixes to get it to appear on the network page but nothing worked. The NAS firmware is current. The ethernet adapter has the current driver for the Qualcom Atheros AR8161 PCI-E Gigabit Ethernet Controller (NDIS 6.30). All powerlines appear to be working as they should. Wireless working with no problems.

Running a diagnosis on the adapter gave me the attached. I've rebooted the router/modem a number of times but that didn't work. Question is the problem with my router, adapter or NAS?

My daughter has lost her computers network. She said she installed something called Warez, it prompted her for an IP address, she made one up. She then lost internet connection. She then uninstalled Warez but the internet is still not available.

I have a home LAN installed with a DHCP server which should supply, but the computer is not getting an IP address from it.
I have checked the IP setting for the adapter is "Obtain an IP address automatically", I have also tried overriding this with a valid IP, subnet and gateway address to no avail.
I cannot ping any addresses on my network.
I have tried a Windows repair, but it's still the same.

An IPCONFIG /RENEW ALL gives message:
The operation has failed as no adapter is in the state permissible for the operation.
Can anyone give some advice please.

I had a network set up between my Win 7 machine and a XP box, and was sharing whole HDD's ie M:/ D:/ and F:/ these are all data areas and not where either operating systems live. I had this set up using (Workgroups) on both machine and was able to read / write across machines in either direction with no problems.

Then after a while of use, I find first the one direction was blocked , now both are lost???? and I can't even "PING" my other machine?

Win 7 sees only ONE machine? itsself, on the network? from the XP end I get the two icons for the two machines, however clicking on the Win 7 machine brings back "Access Denied"

I have tried reseting my router to no avail, anybody know why this has just started to happen, and I didn't do or change anything?

So, all of a sudden, my devices can't see each other. It was all working fine until yesterday. Here's what has changed since I last used my network: I installed a game called Magic Online and I had to reset my router to factory defaults. I can't figure this one out. I don't know what other info I can provide. It just happened suddenly.

A:lost network suddenly

Strange, but not much info to go on. I would certainly try first a system restore to before the problem started and then we will go from there. Let me know it this helps? Step 2 I would check channels on router and then network card.

I have a D-Link DI-524 wireless router. My laptop with a wireless card works just fine, but my desktop with a network card which is connected by an ethernet cable does not. The network card checks out, my network connection properties have the correct info to connect to the router (it uses an IP address for the router) but it will not connect. It was working fine before and I am using the same cards, cords, router and everthing.

I have been having intermittent problems with wifi connectivity so decided to uninstall my network adapters (Realtek and Dell) and then reboot to see if it would solve the issue. Unfortunately I must have checked uninstall driver on the Dell adapter because after rebooting, the Dell adapter had disappeared.

I would really appreciate some advice on how to get it back. I remember in the (good) old days of XP I would get a "found new hardware" message on a reboot, but no more.

Thanks in advance.

Go to Control Panel > Device Manager. You should see the device there (probably with yellow exclamation marks). Click on the device and have it look for device driver - if that doesn't work use the computer your posting with to go to Dell website and download the drivers, then tell Windows to use those drivers.

If you don't see the devices in Devices Manager, post back. That's a different problem.

hello there folks
I need some help with 'wireless networking'. I have a D-Link DSL-G604T modem/router and Dell Inspiron 1300 laptop computer for internet use. Until recently all was well (accessed internet on Friday 16th - then nothing the following day?), but for some reason the laptop can no longer 'see/find' my wireless network?

i can still access the internet by using an ethernet (straight through) cable connected to one of the LAN ports! Also on checking the installed wireless LAN card in the laptop through the device manager it shows as 'this device is working properly'

Any ideas on how to 'find' the network again? Or eliminate the modem or laptop as the cause?

As always if I can give you any other info, jusk ask.
Cheers

"Network cable unplugged" is sometimes a misnomer. Most of time it means that the connection was dropped or the modem reset itself.

Probably Kaspersky did not uninstall completely and cleanly and you need to run the Removal Tool or else you haven't properly configured Bitdefender for the desired access.

Hello,

I have a recently built PC and it was working fine until an hour or so ago, when I could no longer connect to the internet. It doesn't work in both linux and windows (dual boot). Another machine plugged in to the router does still work. Have tried three different cables, the cable from the working machine, rebooted the router, checked device manager in Windows (has Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller 'This device is working properly'). Tried rebooting machine, going in to both windows and linux with the same result. From windows (which I'm more familiar with) I've tried installing updated drivers to no avail. When plugging in the network cable it slowly flashes green (and orange once).

A:Network Credentials Getting Lost

I should add to the above what may be a related matter, is that for the past few weeks, when I connected to my server drives, the display of the file list has been really slow. It would often take 20 seconds or so to list 30 or 40 files. On my XP machine which is on the desk behind me, the server connection is fine and the files display almost immediatly. The 7 machine, which is a much faster machine than the XP machine, has never been as fast listing directory contents as the XP, but it has always been pretty close. Now it is agonizingly painful to watch that Win 7 green bar creep across the top of the file manager window.

"do not unplug or shutdown while your computer installs updates, Installing 1 of 1"
it stayed like that for a couple hours and I figured their was a problem so I unplugged and removed the battery to restart the computer.
When the computer restarted all of my network connections were lost. i could not connect wireless or hard wired to the internet.
when i went to the network and sharing none of the icons were there.
when i click diagnose and repair the message shows
"windows has confirmed that this computer is currently experiencing a network connectivity problem"

everything was working great the night before and after the failed update my networks dont work. I am assuming it has to do with the failed update.

Hi. I have a network of 40+ pcs. 13 of them are used for invoicing. 2 of them have a printer attached to them for invoices being printed. Everyday, the connection to these pcs is lost an invoices wont print. On these pcs, the status of the printer is 'Unable to connect'. A restart will solve the problem but i might re-oocure later during the day. These are Pentium 2 pcs (Win XP Pro S1) but i also occurs on P4 Celerons (Win XP Pro S2).

Any idea how to fix this?
Thanks.

A:Network lost connection

I'm not at all clear on what PCs are losing what connections, but it may be a result of power management--a network connection or a printer that is allowed to "go to sleep" to save power.

Hi everybody hope you are having a better morning than I am Here is the situation I had just reformatted my computer and was checking my IP config and found that my IP had changed fine go to my router page to change the IP there that is setup for forwarding my torrents and games and instead Lost in it can but my I see Network, menu the of changing the IP it wipes my router of all information that it once had on it weird I know so fortunately I managed to get back on the router page and setup the internet again Fine So I have internet under a different network which is pretty much Lost my Network, but I can see it in the menu the exact same thing as the last one except that it does not have my settings I was looking through my network and sharing and noticed the old network is there but I cannot connect to it It does not come up under the networks that I am allowed to connect to only sits there under quot manage my networks quot and Lost my Network, but I can see it in the menu is useless Anyway way to get back to my previous network

A:Lost my Network, but I can see it in the menu

Once you've reset your routers settings, setting them back to whatever you had before effectively places you within the same network as before. As far as your IP change goes, that likely has more to do with your ISP, unless you IP changed from 192.168.X.X to something similar. Those IPs are only used for individual computers within a router's network. If you wish to keep the same one, you can setup your router to assign your computer a specific IP instead of using DHCP.

Once you've reset your router's settings, there is no way to revert to your "old" network. This is because your router is broadcasting the network and once you've reset it, the network changes. The only reason you can still see it in Network & Sharing is likely due to the fact that your wireless has a memory of previous networks.

-------

A simple explanation of router networking:

In short, your router is simply a tool which can "split" an individual network connection coming from your modem between one or more computers. It does this through assigning individual internet protocol addresses to each computer and then combining all traffic so that the modem sees all traffic as coming from one source. The second function of a router uses these individual addresses to allow the individual computers to communicate with each other within the private network that is created by the router.

The reason that your IP changed is due to the fact that your router uses DHCP and assigns a new IP address each time that a computer is connected to the network. It reserved your old ip (likely a variant of 192.168.1.1XX) for your old installation. This internal ip address can change as much as your want unless you are forwarding specific ports to that computer. In that case you need to switch your router's settings that that incoming traffic is forwarded to the new ip.

If you want to avoid having your router switch your computer's ip address, you can tell your router and/or computer to use a manual DHCP address instead of an automatic one. This simply means that instead of letting the router decide which ip to assign, a pre defined IP address is associated with your computer's unique ID (mac address) permanently. This allows you to forward information from external sources to your computer within your router's network (forward traffic pointed at global ip to internal ip).

------

If you didn't understand any of that I don't blame you. It's probably due to my poor explanation rather than it being complex. The only thing you really need to know is that you have to setup manual DHCP if you want to have a static internal IP address and once a router's settings are reset, the previous network ceases to exist.

Vista Home Premium; Advent laptop; Ralink wireless card.

Was using this at a local centre using a BT Wireless Internet connection. Suddenly, after going home then coming back, the BT network is not showing in the available network lists although several other networks nearby can be seen. I can connect ok to the other networks where I have the key.

Searched high and low for an answer to this disappearance but cannot find any help.

Any ideas please?

do you know anything about "losing" internet explorer, after a win xp re-install?

my brother-in-law had a virus come in (we think) and his pc wouldn't start, wouldn't do anything, was stuck in a helpless loop, asking for install cd, then nothing, reboot same thing over & over.

I had him re-install windows xp by hitting F8, working our way to get the pc to even see the install cd, it seemed to fix the booting up problem, he lost everything (personal files etc) but at least windows came up, and seemed to be functional until...

now he can't connect to the internet, there's nothing in his network connections, tried the wizard, no luck, seems like the pc lost the ability to ADD a connection

any ideas???

Yesterday had a network that was setup which included Win laptop and a WinXP laptop on wifi and a WinXP desktop ethernet connected computer and a Win desktop ethernet connected computer Lost error network 651 & this is my main Today have no access from Lost network & 651 error the main Win computer to any of the others The can see it though The only one the main quot sees quot is the Win laptop wifi But it can't access it even Lost network & 651 error though from the laptop end it is set for access from anyone on the workgroup network Also the connection on the ethernet connected main Win computer was not the way it was connected yesterday Instead today it was connected via a wifi dongle I keep on it for safety When I tried to add back the ethernet connection Realtek card I received a error message I was doing it through the Control panel network area Started researching the problem Changed the rasppoe driver after the trusted installer issue and it didn't make any difference which one used orig or new Rebooted the modem router and disabled the wifi connection The computer connected up with the ethernet connection just fine However I still can't access the network of the other workgroup via the ethernet or the wifi network connection Unless I manually disable the wifi connection the computer utilizes the wifi instead of the ethernet connection That's a weak connection compared to the ethernet Ok I think but how can I reset the workgroup network for this computer It would seem I would go back to how I originally did it but for some reason the network share in control panel networking are not doing the job or I have forgotten something I have checked the properties of almost everything to see if something seemed odd It all looked normal but the IPv said no internet access and I couldn't remember if this was the way it was before when everything worked If that's part of the problem how do I change it I would like the main computer to always use the ethernet connection Do is simply keep the wifi disabled or not Would that stop my workgroup network from being available FYI I can't setup a home group between the two win computers but never could Device manager shows all working No new programs or changes were made yesterday to the main win computer but an update of the Oracle Virtual Box was put on the other win machine in the network but that seems a longshot for explaining this Having had it all working fine for months and suddenly over night it changes has left me wondering where to begin setting it back up from the main win desktop ethernet Any direction help would be appreciated

A:Lost network & 651 error

I solved my problem and perhaps the following info will help someone else. I am not sure where to post it so a moderator might know best.
In my case I checked all settings and they were correct, so I thought about what had been changed or added in the past 24 hours. I had updated Virtual Box on one of the networked machines. This new update (an improvement for sure) also adds a new network for use with the virtual box.
When I noticed this unidentified network, I disabled it and the original network I use for my 4 computers, came back on. This new unidentified network seems to get in front of or temporarily replace the original one. So, be aware that the improvement in the virtual box has to be tailored to your needs.

Check to make sure the machines are all in the same workgroup. You might have changed the workgroup when your laptop was a-visiting other premises

The only active connection is ethernet and it isnt configured correctly. Heve you checked device manager to make sure the driver is installed and working correctly? (type device manager in search>go to network connections. Yours should be listed and not have a yellow triangle on it.

Hi golga, welcome to BC.From the Hijackthis log I don't see any serious malware issues that could be causing the networking problems that you are having. I take it that you believe this is a malware problem as you posted a Hijackthis log; are you having any other problems that might make you think that malware is causing this? Unless there is something new spreading around the internet, I don't think malware would be capable of deleting your entire network connections. Yes malware can break your internet connection but I've never heard of it completely deleting all network connections. A quick note about a couple of entries from the Hijackthis log. Firstly, I see you have Viewpoint installed.Viewpoint Manager is considered as foistware instead of malware since it is installed without users approval but doesn't spy or do anything "bad". This will change from what we know in 2007 read this article: http://www.clickz.com/news/article.php/3561546I suggest you remove the program now. Go to Start > Settings > Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs and remove any programs related to Viewpoint if presentI would also remove MyWebSearch, as it is classified as spyware by many.My advice to you would be to post on the networking forum at BC.You will recieve more specialised help there, be sure to note you've had a HJt log checked.http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/f/21/networking/I also find a couple of threads at other internet computer help sites that might be of help:http://www.softwaretipsandtricks.com/forum...lder-empty.htmlhttp://www.annoyances.org/exec/forum/winxp/1112722548

Hi, I'm currently located in a college dorm room. The internet system here registers computers mac addresses to determine if the machine has access or not. I've heard talk that you can set up a network device to split the connection across multiple devices, in my case computer and xbox, so both can be used at the same time. What device would I have to get that allows me to set the mac address and allow me to connect both devices?

I woke my desktop PC from sleep this morning, clicked on Network and immediately spotted a Phone in the device list that doesn't belong to anyone here (a Blu brand phone which is unusual enough that I would know about it).

I clicked on the device and was able to view the MAC address, but nothing else useful. A couple minutes later it disappeared from the network list.

Then a few minutes later I went and looked at another PC on the same home network and saw the same phone in its Network list. It also disappeared a couple minutes after I clicked open 'Network'.

Scanned both PCs with various anti-malware programs including Malwarebytes - they look clean.

Any suggestions on what I was seeing, and if it's malicious how to deal with it?

Need some additional info, what is the make and model of both your router and Modem. Also, open a command prompt and type the following without the quotes and paste the results back here, "ipconfig /all".
