I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/directdownload.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

A:New Gaming PC - Would love some advice

Those games will easily play on that system. The i5 is considered the sweet spot for gaming. You picked good parts. The only advice I would give is two fold: 1) Western Digital's Black Series is considered a better build quality with a 5 year warranty and 2) Love Corsair power supplies but I would go 650 watts myself (always rather have a bit more than needed).

Hi All,

I'm planning to build my first ever desktop since my laptop is already having problems and I think it's going to die soon...

I'm going to use the computer mainly for doing 2D digital artworks, editing videos as well as playing games, specifically MMORPGs and some like Alice Madness & Skyrim.
I'll be playing the heavier games on the console so no need to have a monster pc.
I just want something that would accommodate my main use and last me a while before I would have the need to upgrade again.

I also have a budget that I have to stick to. I live in the Philippines so it will be Php 50,000 - Php 55,000 , in USD I think it would be around $ 1000 - $ 1200.

As stated above, I won't be doing any overclocking whatsoever.

Here are the specifications of the build I was planning.

CPU: Intel® Core? i5-4690 Processor (6M Cache, up to 3.90 GHz)
Motherboard: Asus H97-PRO GAMER
VideoCard: EVGA GeForce GTX 750 Ti Superclocked
Memory: Vengeance® Low Profile ? 8GB Dual Channel DDR3 Memory Kit (CML8GX3M2A1600C9)
Storage: Samsung 120 GB 840 EVO 2.5" SATA SSD
Storage: Western Digital Caviar Black 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM
Power Supply: Seasonic X650 650W 80+ Gold
CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Seidon 120V Hybrid
Optical Drive: ASUS24D3ST BLACK 24X SATA
Case: Obsidian Series® 450D Mid-Tower PC Case
Case Fan: Scythe Kaze Jyuni PWM 120mm, 1300rpm, 74CFM (x3)

Since this is a first, opinions are greatly appreciated. I'm open for suggestions if you think there are better parts that should replace the ones listed. It would also be very nice if it would be cheaper without losing the performance and quality.

Thanks in advance!Click to expand...

What programs do you specifically use for video editing and such?

Also a couple of notes:
1: That PSU is a bit overkill for that build or most builds. I would suggest a Gold Rated 550Watt as being a cheaper better option for you.
2: Save a couple of bucks and grab a Western Digital Blue 1tb HDD or a Seagate Barracuda 1tb HDD. WD Black HDD's are awesome but generally they are a bit more for not much of a difference overall.

Can you link the site from which you are ordering your parts from?

A:I need advice for my first ever PC build

Hi. First, I am not sure you are aware of it but right now Newegg.com has a three combo special that includes your processor, motherboard, and memory that will save you $42.00. So you can rest assured what you listed with those items will work well.

1. The i5 is considered by many to be the sweet-spot for gaming. Good choice.
2. HyperX memory is made by Kingston and they manufacture excellent RAM and have for years.
3. That motherboard is a BEAST. Do you need everything/will you utilize everything that it offers?
4. I would just get a stronger cooling unit.
5. Check out Western Digital's Black series for hard drives in the 7200 rpm models.
6. Couldn't say about the psu; I usually use the Corsair line. Whatever you choose seriously consider either the Gold or Plantinum Plus certification. 650 watts of power would probably do you but research how much power that video card demands and what the manufacture recommends.

As for the case, the last four systems I have built have all been encased in the Cooler Master HAF series. I absolutely love them for air flow and build quality but make sure that you purchase a an additional side fan and top fan for greater air flow. Here is a good rule to keep in mind: Between the inflow of air or its exhaust, exhaust is the more important. I would get a 120mm size fan for the side and blow in and a 140mm side for the top as exhaust.

I want to suggest that you seriously consider getting the bigger brother of the 912. I found that the 912 is excellent for the micro-ITX boards but for me personally it seems a little cramped for the standard ATX boards -- though I have done it without issue. Look at the HAF 922 which is a mid-tower but with tons of room; I have one for my main rig. There is the full tower 932 but that is probably overkill.

Hope this helps.

Hey, im planning on upgrading either my cpu or my gpu, and I need to know what would give me a more
noticeable increase in performance in gaming.

The gpu I currently have is a gtx 760, and my cpu is an i5 - 4430 3ghz
the cpu I'd upgrade to is an i7 - 4790k 4ghz, and the gpu I'd get is a gtx 970.

So which one should I upgrade?

A:Need advice on what to upgrade

The i5 is considered the so-called sweetspot for gaming and since games are gpu intensive I would upgrade the gpu first.

A few questions for you:
1. How much RAM do you run?
2. Are you getting any lag in gaming? What is your current average FPS?
3. What do you hope to gain that would make your gaming experience noticeably increased?
, Make and wattage output of your power supply?

Hey guys,

So as the title says I'm planning to buy a new graphics card. My current one is pretty outdated (1024MB ATI Radeon HD 4600 Series).

I already have a new card in mind which fits my budget :
ASUS GTX750TI-OC-2GD5

I just wanted to make sure that my computer is gonna be able to handle it, or if anyone maybe knows a better card in the same price range ?

here are my specs :

Operating System
Windows Vista Home Premium 64-bit SP2
CPU
Intel Core i7 920 @ 2.67GHz
Bloomfield 45nm Technology
RAM
12,0GB Triple-Channel DDR3 @ 533MHz (7-7-7-19)
Motherboard
Acer FX58M (CPU 1)

My psu should be 450watts.

Anyone think this could give problems ? thanks in advance.

Hey guys im looking to retrofit my 6 year old gaming PC here soon, and by retrofit I mean totally rebuild it. here is my current build:

AMD Phenom II X6 1075T 3.00Mhz
6gb DDR3 RAM
Nvidia GTX 470

my question is this, I am really not having too many issues with frame rates yet even on the brand new games so I was wondering if upgrading to SLI on the GTX470's would be comparable to upgrading to a GTX 970? Thanks for the help guys

I would say yes. Just look at the benchmarks from Passmark. The 970 is more than twice the performance of a 470.

I have a few computers and none of them come anywhere near yours so I'm puzzled that you feel any pressure to upgrade. There may be some interesting developments next year with Windows 10 and new hardware worth splashing out on.

There is an Android Box, called VidOn Box, will be sold in hardware + software way, Hardware: $ 49 , Software: 1.99 / month. In the first year, I need to spend $72.88. If I still need advanced features, I need to renew my membership and choose monthly or annual renewals after one year. Considering the price, I used to buy other boxes are $ 100 or more, VidOn box is only $ 72.88, it is really cheap. Can anyone give me some advice?

I feel that the charge of service is not the point, I usually buy a new Android Box in every one or two years, the charge of hardware and software is about $100 for two years, it is reasonable price. My concern is what's they can offer with this membership service.

Hi you all!

I have an Asus Laptop, last generation i7, 8gb... almost nice. Code: N550LF

Problem: I have to work all day with my laptop, with graphic software and so on.
Almost 10/12 hours or more per day. In my old Dell (I had it for 5 years) I changed for this reason the battery every year.
It is extremely important for my work, even if not everyone cares about battery.

Requested solution: what can I do to preserve (as much as possible) the battery?

What others said: A friend of mine told me to always plug in the computer, because the computer doesn't charge the battery when it is full. In this way I can preserve the battery.
The Asus website doesn't give any advice about it.
The official support by mail told me to not plug the battery when it is 100% charged. This could be dangerous. So, no way to preserve it.

And in your opinion?

Thank you in advance

A:Battery advice

Batteries these days like to stay between 20% and 90% charge.
Leaving the laptop/device plugged in when it reaches 100% does no damage, as most devices have an automatic charge cut-off. So you won't over-charge your batteries.
The problem is, that you're keeping the battery between 98-100% charge all the time, when this is not a sweet spot for the battery at all. It will degrade very slightly faster.
Therefore, in order to keep maximum battery life, keep battery between 20-90% charge.

I have a Samsung RF510 laptop; really nice and plays games nicely, but as of yesterday I've had a problem.

Whenever -anything- that runs causing the fan to start roaring and the vents to get hot, the laptop will suddenly shut down after just 10 minutes. It could be games, I could be rendering a video in sony vegas, doesn't matter.

Thing is, the corner where the vents were would always get really hot on my laptop and this has never posed a problem before; only now it is suddenly shutting down. It's never done this before yesterday, and I mean never. Even a week straight of 5 hours of Borderlands on max settings every night never caused an issue.

Would blowing compressed air into the vents help? Is there a known issue (I did LOTS of searching all day, though it only found people with similar problems who haven't fixed them)? should I try something else completely?

I would appreciate any advice! I can provide additional specs if necessary.

Compressed air might help. Is this notebook on a flat surface when you use it? Try not to use these thing on bed covers and sheets.

Hi. I am looking for a new PC/Laptop mainly for audio editing and some amateur video editing. I have read around the web and found a few things I probably want in on my computer:

Firewire or IEEE 1394 input,
An SSD hard-drive or atleast an 7200rpm hard drive
A half-decent video card for video editing
A decent sized RAM (atleast 8 gb I think)
Processor which isnt a slug probably

I was looking at a refurbished Mac Mini for £579. (http://store.apple.com/uk/product/FD388B/A)
It has some good reviews online and since Im not too experienced with computers an Apple product would probably give me less headaches. The Intel HD 4000 isnt too good though, which might be a problem for video editing. The hard drive isn't fast either, but I read, that that can be replaced.
Any comments on this? Maybe I should build my own PC or buy a laptop, could you give me some suggestions as well? My budget is about £600-700.
Thanks.

Can you help me on which combination of those mobo+graphics card gives me better performance? I be happy if u help on

A:GTX 760/ HD 7950 + mobo advice

Either combination would offer pretty much the same performance.
Of the motherboards, I'd go with an AsRock over the MSI. My personal experience with MSI boards is rather mixed to say the least. Of the two AsRock boards, they are similarly appointed, and should be similarly priced.
If you're looking at the overclocking ability, that is more down to the silicon lottery that is CPU fabrication rather than board ability. Both AsRock boards should feature the same OC headroom.

As for the graphics cards, assuming price isn't the main consideration and cryptocurrency minng hasn't sent AMD cards higher than they should be, both the GTX 760 and HD 7950 are well matched and capable cards. How they fare will depend upon which games you plan playing.

If it comes down to a reference HD 7950 and a vendor overclocked GTX 760, I'd go with the latter, and the MSI Gaming version over the Asus DC2. The MSI card will be quieter and likely have more overclock headroom.

I built a gaming PC about 2 years ago, and while it still plays the games I play just fine, I'm itching to either build a completely new system, or upgrade some of the parts that are lacking. I am on a bit of a budget and would like to only have to buy one or two parts a month if I build a whole new rig. If anyone could take a look at my current setup and tell me which parts definitely need replacing, or if I should build something better that would be awesome. The details are in my profile. If the suggestion is to start from scratch, what is the best order to buy the parts in to make it a little more future proof? It would probably take me about 4-6 months to be able to buy everything depending on prices. Thanks in advance!

A:Advice on building/upgrading a Gaming PC

Here is a few options:

Upgrading the CPU to a FX-8350 would double the processing power.
Upgrading the GPU to a GTX-760 would more than double the graphical power.
If you don't have a power supply greater than 500W's, I'd recommend getting one before upgrading to GTX-760. If you prefer a different card, you can look up the recommended power ratings from AMD or nVidia, for the selected card.

Will this card work with my machine?
Will this card run Skyrim on Ultra settings in vanilla?
Will this card be able to support possible heavy scripting and modding?

A:Video Card Upgrade Advice

Sure but a 500W power supply is recommended for a GTX 760. You may need to check the size of your power supply, as it is likely to need upgrading before replacing the GPU.

Hey Allen. Downgrade the motherboard to a MSI 970A-G43. That will save you around 1600 Rs. Downgrade the motherboard to a Corsair CX600. That will save you 3400 Rs. Cut back the case to a CM N300 (saves you 1500 Rs). Also, dont waste your money on the Logitech G105 keyboard. It is a pretty bad keyboard IMO. Get the simple Logitech K120 instead (saves you 2400 Rs.). Finally, get a Western Digital Blue HDD instead of the Seagate (saves you 1500 Rs.). Great build as a whole.

A:Memory advice for Asus Sabertooth X79 & I-7 3930

First, you should know that X79 is the first (and only) consumer platform with a quad channel memory controller. That means for maximum memory performance you must use at least 4 DIMMs, populating channels A, B, C, and D.
The Sabertooth X79 originally supported up to only 1866 MHz, but I see the QVL lists kits up to 2400. http://support.asus.com/QVL.aspx?SLanguage=en&p=1&m=SABERTOOTH X79&hashedid=RPOIwd0pKLoXnbFV
If you buy a kit on this list, it has already been tested to work with your board, at least at stock CPU speeds. If you overclock your CPU (and you should with that unlocked processor), some of the higher speed RAM may not boot. I believe you'll be safe buying a 2133 kit, even one that's not on the QVL. I'm running Kingston HyperX Beast 2400 in my Asus P8Z77-V & i5-3570K system with great results, and it's not on my QVL. If you do go for the 2400, you should pick one of the 4x4GB kits from your QVL for assured compatibility. If all those are hard to find (or too expensive), roll the dice and get the kit you want, but make sure it's a name brand like Corsair, Adata, G.Skill, Patriot, Kingston HyperX, Crucial, etc., as they have reputations to preserve and do lots of testing on all platforms.
Also, check out this recent thread about whether or not fast RAM is worth the money - http://www.techpowerup.com/forums/showthread.php?t=191311

A:Router advice

I'll comment on your requirements in context - -

prouddad said:

My highest priorities for the router are as follows:

1. Must be able to handle my VoIP phone system, networked security cameras and about 10-12 computers and other devices (mostly wireless).Click to expand...

The number of devices is not a critical factor - - the addition of VoIP is

2. Parental controls ... Most routers seem to allow you to block certain websites but do not give you lots of options for content type, time of day, exceptions for certain devices, etc.Click to expand...

Netgear can block by KEYWORD and a few well chosen porn words will block many sites - - be sure to add lower case xxx to the list

3. User friendly interface with access from my phone, etc. I am not very tech savvy so I need everything made very clear for me in the interface. Also, as I will need to be able to make changes while away from home, I need to have that available via cell phone.Click to expand...

hmm - - this is considered to be Remote Access and is VERY dangerous. If you just can't live without it, then change the port number (the default is 8080) and create a very strong password for logging onto the router.

4. Detailed log of all activity specifying each device used.Click to expand...

Netgear at least provides a means to EMAIL the router log.

5. Reliable.Click to expand...

My wired Netgear is several years old by now and the newly added wifi is also a Netgear.

Btw: you can always wire up a sequence like
modem==Router#1 ---- (wifi Router#2)where Router#1 handles the VoIP, logging and Remote Management.

Doesn't look like a bad setup but you still need RAM and I would suggest a DVD or Bluray drive. Also, do you have an operating system, monitor(s), mouse and keyboard already, or will you need those also? You could save money by shopping around (if you have that option - example NewEgg / Tigerdirect / etc). You could also save some money by looking at alternative items.

Hi all,

I'm quite stuck on getting a PC case which will help with cooling. I'm looking for the best case at cooling in the £70 range. The case has to be big enough for graphic card upgrades (I currently have 5850 XFX Black Editions in crossfire). Examples of cases I've looked at are the Carbide 300R, HAF 912 Plus and Fractal Design R4. Please can anyone advise of the best case (in this class?) in the UK. I'm happy to add additional case fans to get better cooling!
MB is ATX, BTW.

A:PC Case advice for better cooling (budget @£60-£80)

Well since im going to assume air cooling I have a couple of options that I personally like for those types of systems:

NZXT Phantom Mid Tower

Corsair 400R or the 300R are both great options

There are many more but those are a few near your price point I recommend. I like the NZXT Phantom cases the most because of their room, expandability, and overall sleek look.

A:Need advice for soldering Dell Inspiron 1501 motherboard

Can you post an photo of your soldering?I'm not sure if I can help, but an image might help us understand what you are looking at.

I solder quite often, and have done repair work such as you are attempting. I do know it is easiest to when there is only one solder joint to contend with. One joint such as a wire you can pull the wire as you heat and once hot enough the wire will pull free. Several solder joints are a different ballgame. There are two choices, and one choice I've never had the equipment to do so. Heating every join at the same time, can be done by blowing hot air across the component. I've never had the equipment for it, so I've been left with the choice of cleaning each joint one at a time. I noticed this is how you were attempting solder removal.

Solder tips must be clean and prepped for use. A trashy tip can cause an insulated barrier and prevent heating of the solder joint. Always tin your tips with a tad of solder before you ever use it the first time. If you don't tin your tip, you will always have trouble using it.
Pre-heat the tip so you are not waiting and possibly causing damage to the solder joint and/or component. Spending too much time on a solder joint is never a good idea. You want to heat the joint as quickly as possible without heating everything else.
On removal with the wick, the wick needs to be just as clean as the solder tip or it will not absorb any of the solder. A little bit of soldering flux may help the wick absorb. But if the wick has already been used, it is doubtful it will work again.
Soldering flux is always helpful when soldering joints back in place anyway. Especially on surfaces that have not been soldered previously. It doesn't take much, a finger smear is plenty sufficient. however on multi-strand wire you will want enough flux to absorb into the strands of the wire.
Don't bubble your joint, all you need is a slim joint connection. More solder will do nothing for the joint. Watch for solder beads, that can unexpectedly drop off your tip cause shorts.
One last piece of advice, soldering is no different than welding metal. Solder will not stick unless both surfaces are heated. If you only heat one side of the joint, solder will not stick to the other side. It's usually a better to try and heat the larger surface first as the smaller heats up more quickly. It's the timing of both surfaces that you want heated at the same time.

Is that $700 USD or Rupee? Try to get at least 8GB of DDR3 RAM 4GB is not enough. 3GB with the OS and 2GB free after apps. i3 is okay make sure that is 2GHz the lowest 1.7GHz. GPU 512MB min 1GB mid or 2GB high. HDD 320 to 750GB. With the price range you have you can get some really nice here.

Hello,
I'm not 100% sure if I'm posting this in the correct forum spot but I'll give it a go here anyway. I'm looking into buying a good gaming PC that can run League of Legends, Steam games, and stuff like that. The main game I play is League of Legends and I at least would like it to run at max for that game. If anyone could help me that would be great.

Just joined this forum - seems to have some pretty good answers! I'm looking for advice on a project I'm working on. I'm involved with the Odyssey of the Mind creative problem solving program here in Delaware. The program has grown so much over the last decade we now need to run two tournaments on the same day and can no longer rely on volunteers to supply laptops and printers for our competition sites. I'm starting to look at buying about 14 laptops and printers for our use. However, they will only be needed for about two months a year (February & March). Can anyone offer advice on whether its best to buy inkjet or laser printers? I'm concerned about storing the equipment in an unheated/cooled mini-storage facility through the worst of the winter as well as the summer.

A:Need advice on printers

2 months out of a year. Hmmm! I wonder if you could reach an agreement with a rental company. It could cut storage cost and present you with new equipment each year.

I'm not an expert on printing equipment but I would lean toward Laser Printers. I've had several issues with Inkjet. Inkjet printouts will smear, if they get even the slightest bit wet. Over unused time, Inkjet printing head will dry and cause issues. This is probably my mileage only but, I've had more paper jams with Inkjet than I have with Laser.

I've only had dealings with two Laser printers.

The first is an HP LaserJet 6P, which is a black and white laser printer. I've never had an issue with this printer. No matter how long between printing, it is always ready to go. If the pages start to fade, the cartridge can be shaken a few times before they need replacing.
The second is a Brother MFC-9460CDN Printer, which is a color laser printer. I've only one complaint with this printer, the cartridges have a timer on them. After a set number of prints, the machine will stop printing until the timed out cartridge is replaced. I will do my home work the next time I decide to buy and will do my best to avoid this manufactured feature (aka: I'm gonna call it a defect).
Either way you should probably plan on starting each new year with new cartridges (ink or laser) and paper. Old paper can be one of the leading causes to paper jam, especially if curled and doesn't want to feed straight.

Good luck with your endeavors!

So I am looking at buying a new and Laptop Buying advice new could a use some I laptop and instantly I went to Newegg I have been looking around and narrowed it down to MSI gaming laptops Laptop Laptop I asked my cousin his opinion since he does a lot with computers and he essentially told me The specs on both are horrible since the only difference is the color and RAM The processors on both will be slower then his current computer which is a standard DELL with a nd or rd gen i Both are much slower then most other computers They are just terrible gaming laptops in general So he pretty much said they are both terrible Since this is Buying a new Laptop and I could use some advice my first time buying a computer on my own and it is a lot of money to spend I am looking for a little guidance Both of the above look pretty good to me speed and performance wise Buying a new Laptop and I could use some advice I play a lot of games on Steam League of Legends Diablo and some other pretty demanding games I am also looking to do some school work on Microsoft Office and such to do research and write papers and things I am a college student At some point in the future I may have to install some D CAD software since I am studying to be an engineer I also do general computer things and possibly record some game play footage I hope to use whatever computer I get for or years assuming I take care of it properly If both of these options are bad which I am fairly confident that they are not can anyone point me in the right direction My budget is anywhere close to the price of the two above - Any help is appreciated Thanks nbsp

A:Buying a new Laptop and I could use some advice

Both laptops are great, I really do not know what your cousin was thinking. Both laptops have the highest end components you can get. They are are overkill though. This is why:
1) You want to avoid RAID 0.
2) 32GB RAM is too much.
3) A 4GB GPU for 1080P is overkill, but doesnt hurt.

Pros:
1) The 780M is great.
2) 4th gen CPU
3) A lot of RAM.

I would recommend Sager laptops. They offer great value. I would look into this:
1) http://www.sagernotebook.com/index.php?page=category_browse&selected_cat=special&mid=NP9390
- I would chose this because it has dual 8970Ms. This will kill battery life (not like it had any in the first place), but it will play any game @ ultra. Lower the amount of RAM to 16GB since 24-32GB is overkill. Make sure you select the Intel Intel 240GB 525 series SSD instead of the Crucial M4. Make sure you chose the prefered OS (Win 7 vs Win 8).

That is the best option because it comes with 2 GPUs. It is by far the best value.

Would have to upgrade my PSU as well and Im not 100% sure what route to go. Any cheap suggestions? Any help is appreciated.

Low profile cases are never designed to be upgrade capable. Sure you can get a low profile graphics card, but as you have already discovered the power supply will likely be your biggest problem. Most low profile PC's have proprietary PSU's, making it impossible to upgrade the PSU. With only 220W's, I can not recommend upgrading graphics.

The good news is your motherboard appears to be MicroATX, which is not proprietary and will fit another case if you wish to pursue upgrading. In all honesty though, I'd say be happy with what you have. And when you decide to upgrade, look at a building/buying a new rig.

Hi folks, I love to do video editing using adobe premiere, but as videos are recorded more often in HD even from my smartphone feels like there is not enough power anymore.

My system is Biostar Hi-Fi A85W motherboard with AMD A8-6500 and 4 GB DDR3. Now I am wondering if a memory upgrade to 8 GB would really make sense in that case? Or could it be a too slow CPU and I have to replace my current board?

I will be glad to hear your advice!

That is a newly released CPU, so it is not slow. Plus, it is a quad core. If you just do basic computing tasks, the 8GB will allow you to multitask more. Check out this site for what RAM to buy: http://goo.gl/95Yh

Everything is compatible.

Nice case and CPU cooler, however the CPU cooler would not really be needed if you don't over-clock. The Boxed CPU comes with an OEM CPU cooler that is fine with non-over-clock conditions.
Are you planning on over-clocking? If so the motherboard and CPU are not really designed for over-clocking.

A:Build Advice

Heres my advice,

Mobo: Good choice, im personally more of an asus fan, but ive heard that Asrock are good as well. Looks like a nice board

Processor: Good choice, but if your interested, the new Haswell series is out which do show a nice performance up from the 3570k. Try checking into a 4670k and a LGA 1150 chipset board.

Ram: I like Kingston, nothing wrong with that set

Video Card: Go for a GTX 770 over it, comparing the cheapest options from both sides (670 to 770) it seem to be only about a 40-20 dollar difference. The 770 is a nice step up.

PSU: Corsairs are reliable, and that will be plenty so long as you don't plan on doing SLI.

As for a case, depends on your size you want, I personally like corsair cases as they seem to always know how to fit everything in a good spot with plenty of space. Try something like the 200R

A:Motherboard Advice

Short answer;
Yes but since its not an identical motherboard, it is highly possible Windows license may be deactivated.

Both motherboards support DDR2 and DDR3 memory modules. It has been my experience that motherboards will only support one memory type at a time. DDR3 is the most recent and cheapest memory available.

Is there a reason why you have chosen a motherboard that supports both memory types?

Hello. Im looking to upgrade my current system that is really out of date for gaming.
Mobo Asus p5g41t-m lx
CPU Intel dual core e5700 @ 3ghz
4gb ram (2x2 gb) ddr3 1333Mhz
Ati HD 5450 1GB
some generic 450W PSU ( I am upgrading this first asap)

I want something that can play in high/ultra settings games like Bf3, Crysis, AC sagas, Metro 2033/Last Light, Total war sagas, Tomb Raider, among others
I will be using a max resolution of 1360x768 for those games, and I have a $220 budget for video card + PSU.

I am highly considering a Radeon 7850 1GB version + a proper power supply but I need more suggestions. Also how much bottleneck will I get if I put that card with my current dual core?

Thanks!

A:Need advice for upgrade

The dual core will bottleneck the GPU. The 7850 1GB is a good choice, but in order to play the games at ultra settings, you will need a better CPU (quad core). I think the 1GB of VRAM may struggle at ultra settings. Also, If you ever upgrade to a 1080P monitor, the 1GB of VRAM will struggle.

I'm a noob when it comes to computer hardware and I'd like to know which cpu if any will be the best upgrade for my motherboard. Or if I just need to get a new motherboard instead. Any help is appreciated.

These are my system specs.
MSI X58A GD65
Intel i7 CPU 930 @ 2.80GHz (8 CPUs), ~2.8GHz
16384MB RAM, Just upgraded 4GBx4
2x GeForce GTX 465 sli
Corsair HX1000W
I have around a 300-400$ budget

A:Need advice on upgrades

That CPU is still pretty modern. If you really want to upgrade, I would recommend going for a Haswell platform which will be released in June. $150 for a Z87 motherboard + $330 for an i7 4770K. You will need a larger budget if you want an i7. A i5 4670K will be enough if you are only gaming. You will also need to upgrade your RAM and GPUs.

In my opinion, the CPU isnt really the bottleneck at the moment. I think you are better off just buying a GTX 660Ti or GTX 670 or wait till the nVidia 700 series is released in June (if they arent impressive, then you can get the 660Ti cheaper than you would now). The real time you will need to upgrade your CPU, is probably in a year or two; for now, it will do you fine.

A:Advice on rebuilding PC (£1500ish)

Well, you seem like an enthusiast.
1) Everything is fine, except go for this watercooler instead: :http://www.amazon.co.uk/Corsair-H10...1_1?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1363737630&sr=1-1
2) The motherboard is not necessary unless you are gonna watercool the motherboard. Get this instead (this is for if you care a lot about looks, otherwise save a few bucks and get a ASUS P8Z77V): http://www.amazon.co.uk/Asus-SABERT...1_3?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1363737769&sr=1-3
3)Get this HDD instead: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Caviar-Blac...1_1?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1363737859&sr=1-1
4) As for the SSD, since you game, you would want games on there also (so they load faster), not just your OS, so I would recommend this: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Samsung-Ser...1_1?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1363737915&sr=1-1

May I ask, what clocks will you be bringing your CPU to, because a Noctua CPU air cooler may be a better choice since closed loop water cooling has risks. But if you are taking your CPU beyond 4.5 GHz, I would recommend the H100i. Also what sound system are you running? Sound cards do you no good if you dont have a >$100 sound system. Also socket 1155 is newer. 2011 is getting dated and the new version is rumored to be coming in Q4 13'.

A:Monitor advice -- 120Hz worth it for gaming?

The 670 will be able to give you those 120 fps in less demanding games, however you may end up turning the quality and resolution down for the more demanding titles (such as Crysis 3). So you have a choice, sacrifice image quality for more fluid game-play, or get an IPS monitor, which will give you much superior color, but you'll have to live with 60 fps. (In my opinion, 60fps is enough, although that's a matter of opinion)

A:Computer build advice for a programmer

Yes, majority of those parts are bit overkill. Even the Cosmos II seems a bit overkill. Especially, if you don't plan to go with water cooling. If I were you, Id make these changes.

MOBO: Asus Sabertooth Z77
CPU: Intel Core i7-3770K
PSU: Corsair TX650
GPU: GTX 660TI

I would ditch the sound card altogether.

A:Seeking advice on P/S for big upgrade

I would considering picking up any of the follow:

Corsair TX650 ($89.99)
Corsair TX750 ($109.99)
Antec Neo Eco 620 (69.99)

All will provide you with solid performance. I would also recommend an 850W variation of either the TX or HX Corsair PSU's. That will give you a bit of room for future upgrades.

A:Advice on $1,000 build, please?

To go some online stores, find their pre-built systems. Get some from $800 to $1200 and modify the parts to suit.

This way you have a number of 'quotes'. If you can't decide on parts, post back.

Also, some stores have free assembly when you purchase a whole system. Do this if you feel like it.

Importantly though, have a look at her old monitor. Check to see if it's got HDMI, VGA, DVI, as you may need some adaptors. I wouldn't recommend running off VGA if she's a writer.

A:Gaming PC build advice

A couple things:

Firstly, you have a MOBO & CPU incompatibility. Your MOBO is for socket 2011 CPU's while your processor is LGA 1155
Here is a compatible motherboard for your build.
Asus Sabertooth Z77 LGA 1155 ($239.)

Secondly, I wouldn't waste my money on the: Network card, extra case fans,HDD fan,PSU gasket, and fan mounts. I would put all that money in your CASE budget and look for a more solid case. All those fans would do the exact opposite of what you'd like to achieve. You want a quiet machine, you do not put 9+ fans inside of it.

Thirdly, Id recommend buying something like the Corsair H100i for your cooling needs. I did notice you said you're not "Savy" enough for liquid cooling. However, these closed loop solutions require no real experience to install. Furthermore, they require zero maintenance.

Also, I wouldn't grab the 4GB 670. You will not need all of that VRAM. Instead, go with the 2GB version it's much cheaper.

Your power supply is also overkill. Unless you plan on running 3 GPU's 1000 watts is not necessary. I would go with aCorsair HX Series 850W. This will give you some room for future upgrades.
Even then, If you want. Id grab the 650 or 750w variation of that PSU. It will save you some money.

EDIT: Added GPU recommendation & PSU recommendation

A:Yet another gaming computer build -- need advice

My suggestions:

You have a Z77 Motherboard, which allows for overclocking, and your CPU is not overclock-ble. I would suggest upgrading to the i5-3570k, as it is only a few dollars more, and allows for overclocking. The alternative is to downgrade to a H77 motherboard if you do not plan to overclock at all.

I've also noticed that the Motherboard you linked is only $90, rather than the $200 you described. (Have you linked the wrong board???).

If you plan to overclock, and your budget is $200 I would definitely go for something like:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131837

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128544

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813157295

I would recommend purchasing an aftermarket CPU cooler. The Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo is a great little cooler for only $35. It will be quieter, give better temperatures and allow for much more effective overclocking if you desire.

A 850W power supply is overkill for your build, and could only be justified if you plan to SLI two GTX 660 Ti's in the future. The PSU you have chosen is also only 80 plus bronze, which is good but not great. I would recommend going quality over quantity, and go for something like these:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139012

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817151088

Apart from that, I think that you have great build in the makings

Basically, I'm bad at technology type things and have little understanding of all the jargon that comes with it...
However, I'm thinking about getting this headset http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001FY7LBQ/ref=ox_sc_act_title_2?ie=UTF8&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER

but I only have a headphone jack on my laptop. So I found these
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001MSS6CS/ref=ox_sc_act_title_2?ie=UTF8&smid=A23NVCSO4PYH3S
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002D41HKS/ref=ox_sc_act_title_3?ie=UTF8&smid=A3SPLR0MSOYZ8O
What is the difference between these two, and what do you think of these items?
Thanks in advance~
(sorry if I'm in the wrong topic! I'm not sure where to place this)

A:Headset shopping advice

You say you only have a 'headphone jack' on your laptop, does that mean you only have the sound output jack, and no microphone jack? Because most laptops, especially newer ones, have both.

If you don't have both, I assume you want to use the headset's microphone as well.
The difference between the two items you linked is that the first converts stereo-jacks into USB. If you have no microphone jack, but still want to use it, this is what you want. The second item is basically the same, except it's more expensive and has a lesser rating

Due to the headset you chose ( a fine all-round voicechat headset, by the way) I take it you're not looking for studio quality, and therefore I can say the performance-loss you get from converting the signal is neglectable.

A:Requesting advice for building a budget gaming PC

I vote for the graphics adapter as being the single most important factor in a gaming PC.

Out of your choices the monitor would be the second most important. However without adequate power to the graphics card it would be rendered useless, so I believe the Power Supply would be the second most important factor in gaming.

With CPU gaining in performance and becoming less of a factor in gaming, I would give the CPU the third most important position.

If you had included the Power Supply and CPU in your pole above, I would have made the monitor fourth most important factor. After all what good is being able to view a good picture if you can't produce the picture with better quality parts listed in the top three I mentioned above.

In my opinion RAM and Sound Cards would have very little importance as RAM is not all that expensive to purchase and on-board sound is usually sufficient.

Edit:
I noticed you are looking for a gaming card and referenced to the Passmark benchmarks of 1000 as a recommended score. You might should consider looking at cards that will score at least 2000.

People usually opt for the i5 since games don't normally take advantage of hyper-threading

Hello,

I wish to connect a second monitor to my PC desktop.
My current monitor is a LCD, Plug and Play monitor, manufacturer: standard monitor type, model WJ1780PI, D-12055 - one straight wire, (please see attachment numbered 1) connecting to a VGA port.

There is also another VGA port, (see attachment numbered 2). However I tried taking out the VGA cable from slot 1 and slotting it into slot 2 and it came up that there is no signal?

What would be the best way to get around this. Would a VGA splitter work??

A:Advice on how to set up dual monitors

The VGA port that you have there marked as "2" is the Integrated graphic cards VGP port and it does not work together with the one that is marked as"1". If you want to connect one more display to that graphics card then you will have to use the connectors on the right side of the "1" VGA port. Sadly tho the s-video and the RCA there are mostly used to old projectors and TVs.
So I would say that you will need to get a new graphics card (GPU) to get more displays connected.

Blow the dust that has collected over the years out of the various heat sinks & fans. Yes, room temp is always a factor with a heat sink & fan. The old Prescotts ran hot, but I don't think 65 is too hot, but it's getting close, The maximum temp for a P4 is 70 I think. The heat could cause your computer to throttle down and reduce its performance.

Hey all I am in need of a quick bit of advice I have an old Alienware Area from quite Advice appreciated a few years back pics below that is basically just sitting around collecting dust The components are obviously all outdated Core Duo GTX etc so the poor thing just sits around and sees limited use Despite its age the Advice appreciated PC Advice appreciated as a whole is in pretty good condition All internal parts function normally and the case is in great shape as well with the exception of a bit of dust - but that s nothing a can of compressed air and some elbow grease can t fix I m basically going back and forth in my head on whether to just scrap the thing Possibly give it away to friends family or take the time to try and sell it I know the internal parts wouldn t fetch anything significant but a friend of mine mentioned there is somewhat of an niche demand for the older Area cases I ve researched and asked around a bit but I figured I would consult the TS community for your opinions on the matter Thanks for the input nbsp

A:Advice appreciated

Doubt you'd get much for the internal components but I think you definitely could sell the case seeing as it's in good condition. Alienware never sold their cases on their own so there might be people out there looking for an Alienware case but not willing to pay their premium for a whole system.

Hi, hope this is the right forum.....
My Samsumg SyncMaster 215tw doesn't come on when machine is booted up. need to turn on and off and then it gradually gets brighter. If I click in it straight away to work on...it goes dark; if I wait about 5 mins then it stays active....feels like something is dying ... can anyone give me advice and/or fixes? It is part of a dual monitor set up, W7 64 bit
thanks in advance... apologies if this is not the right forum.... DL

A:Advice:N:Samsumg SyncMaster 215tw dying?

It definitely is a monitor problem. The internal power supply circuits may be failing. This is something for an experienced electronics repair tech to handle. I have a Samsung 245bw monitor. It is 4 years old, and still working fine. These monitors are very similar to laptop LCD displays electrically, using CFL back lights and inverters

A:Advice & suggestions on first build under $3k budget

direct quote from member lehpron from the EVGA forums, sorry its huge but this sums up why I chose the type of mobo, GPU and CPU. but of course still subject to change

"Most modern games are threaded for between 2-4 cores, and it has been a slow progress adoption since quads have been around for six years, duals for eight years. meaning, a 6-core won't make a difference today. New games take 2-3 years to make from the ground up, so in that time, it will make a quad that much more important. Only get the 6-core for your professional work, not for gaming.

3770K is a 22nm quad and half the die area (thus half the actual power and thermals if set at the same frequency) as 32nm i7-3900's 6-cores; mathematically, they should overclock better, but Intel differed from tradition of soddering the CPU die to the IHS (integrated heat spreader) by using a thermal grease with Ivy Bridge which tends to artificially raise temperaturess. This prevents anyone from really being able to push it except for those using cryogenics; so in the end, all Sandy and Ivy processors reach a max of approx 5GHz regardless of number of cores.

So it all comes down to the board really; X79 can support up to 4-way SLI (in quad x8, or a pair of full x16) configs while Z77 is limited to just dual x8's. If you're serious about longitivity in terms of having the room for future graphics cards and not change the board (which definitely need more bandwidth than current), then X79 is the only option. For CPU, either get quad 3820 or 6-core 3930K depending on how often your professional uses need 12-threads or not.

BTW, as for the GTX670's, get the 4GB card. We'll soon see a new standard for mainstream monitors that used to be the reign of medicial professionals, their total single display res equals to a modern multi-display setup. So if you intend on at least one in the next two years and not upgrading graphics for it, then you should plan ahead with a 4GB model and get 3-way SLI by then to compensate.

TBGAPowa

Really looking for longevity and durability I chose a gtx 670 in hopes of being able to run graphic intensive art programs and gaming on high settings for at least two years before upgrade/new build.
This part will require an edit for realism.

In two years, a pair of GTX670 will have the performance equivalency of a future mainstream card (I.e. "GTS850" )and unable to run those games appearing then at high details without having the frame rates dip whatever is high-end at time. So either plan to get into 3-way or 4-way SLI (meaning you need to get a 4-way capable board in the first place, I.e. X79), think about upgrading your graphics card much earlier than two years, or settle for less visuals as times passes especially if you plan a higher resolution monitor someday. Most games are GPU-intensive, so if your resolution doubles the pixels, you cut your frame rates in half.

The only way you can truly have longivity is if your expectation is much lower than what is available for purchase. If you want max detail at smooth rates, then that is only possible today, it isn't possible next year with this year's configuration running next year's games. Just so you know, many folks on enthusiast websites like these upgrade often as a hobby, they choose to keep up with technology in order to maintain their preference level in every new game; I personally see it as a hassle. So you have to decide your upgrade tendencies beforehand and plan ahead, beyond this upcoming build. "

Thats a nice build.

The Z68 is a 2nd Gen board and the CPU is 3rd Gen processor. You may want to purchase a 3rd Gen board.

2nd Gen chipsets: H61, H67, P67,Q67, and Z68
3rd Gen chipsets: B75, H77, Q77, Z75, and Z77
If you plan on any over-clocking you may want the K version of the i7-3770. The K versions are unlocked and allow much easier overclocking. Intel Core i7-3770K Ivy Bridge 3.5GHz

Ivy Bridge Chipsets

All Ivy Bridge chipsets and motherboards support both Sandy Bridge and Ivy Bridge CPUs. Ivy Bridge based processors will officially support up to DDR3-1600, up from DDR3-1333 of Sandy Bridge. Consumer Ivy Bridge chipsets will also allow overclocking of K-series processors.Click to expand...

What are you using the PC for? That's probably the most important question because a gaming PC will have a different optimal setup to a workstation PC for example.

My initial thoughts are:
- Unless you have a good reason, that's way too much RAM. 8GB is more than enough for most people.
- It's a bit of a waste of money getting an A8 processor (which has an integrated graphics processor) and a dedicated graphics card.
- If you're going to be gaming the 6570 is not going to be enough.

Hey everyone. I am looking to have 1 SSD and 2 HDD's in my rig. I want to make my SSD my boot drive and have my 2 HDD stripped and leave them as data drives for gaming.

So when I install a game or any other program it will be installed to the raid and not the SSD.

Your thoughts??

It's striped and it should work just fine, just don't have any expectation of recovering data should anything go wrong with your array. Also, will you be using hardware or software RAID?

A:Advice on replacing Toshiba L655 laptop DVD burner

The Optical drive is held in by one screw, usually located under a bottom cover. Open the tray and when you remove that screw, just pull the drive out. There should be a part number on the drive label. Use this number to locate a replacement drive. The drive's plastic bezel can be removed and placed on the replacement drive, so you can purchase a much cheaper drive that doesn't have a bezel installed. EBay is a good source

I've just switched from the Corsair H100 to the Corsair H80 Liquid CPU Cooler. I liked the H100, but it was just making way too much noise. The H80 -- while maintaining temperatures that are about 2°C lower than the H100 -- is a good deal more quiet: a compromise I'm willing to live with.

I presently have stock Corsair fans mounted on the H80. I figure I can cut down a bit more on the noise by using better quality 120mm fans. Have you guys any suggestions as to what brands and models I should look into?

The H80 radiator is cooled by two 120mm fans in push-pull configuration. I've read a few reviews online -- but I think I'm better off with hardware that Techspot members have tried and tested. I use my rig for gaming. My specs are on the drop down.

You could last it out a while longer, but I'd be inclined to upgrade.

Being pedantic though, your GPU choice is not going to play every single game out there at fairly high settings, unless you're prepared to drop the resolutions.

Is your budget set in stone?

Also, what existing hardware do you have that you could reuse should changing motherboard be an option?

Would it be better if I just put pagefile and a few small apps there? Will pagefile activity wear out the SSD too quickly? (I should point out that I plan to get more RAM soon so I can put pagefile on a RAM disk, so the second option just might be a temporary setup.)

Could you guys maybe suggest other options as to how I could make best use of the extra SSD on my machine?

Thanks in advance for your help.

A:SSD advice needed

I know this does not answer your question but you may find it interesting.

If you have plenty of RAM to run all your applications, you wouldn't really need a pagefile. Pagefiles are needed when the system requires more memory than physically in the machine.

I have 8GB memory and rarely see 3GB usage. Several years ago I ran Windows XP without a pagefile on 512MB memory for a long time. One day I actually ran out of memory and the system crashed. Ever since this day I have set a small pagefile just to prevent a system crash. I currently have a 1GB pagefile to assist my 8GB of physical memory if ever needed.

With all this said, I'm not sure how much a pagefile is even used on a system that does not run out of physical memory. If the pagefile is never used then the write cycles for SSD will not be effected. I'm also interested in knowing pagefile usage statistics for a system that has plenty of physical memory.

A:Advice/help my first build!

I believe that you have a pretty solid build right now in terms of the parts listed. You will also need a case though, you can't have all those parts sitting on a table or desk Anyway, I would say that you should build your own computer and not get one of the prebuilt ones. Most of those are not that great and end up with poor build quality and they are more expensive.

As for the GPU, it seems that AMD is about to release more of their 7xxx series graphics cards, so waiting a few weeks wouldn't be a bad idea in that regard. You should be looking for the 7780 if they keep the names the same (previously the 6780). If you want nvidia, the gtx550 ti is a little under the performance of a 6780 and a gtx560 is a bit over the performance of a 6780. Ivy bridge probably won't be widely available until late may or early june.

Hi all, I am new to the world of NAS devices.
I have 5 X 3.5" Sata HardDisks which I would like to share the data around my home network.
I have 2 notebooks, 1 netbook, 1 iPad, 1 desktop and a PS3; I would ideally like to share my files with all devices, and it will be a bonus if I can create different user account for access.
I would like to spend around £150-£350 ($240-$550USD) on the NAS.

Any advice would be appreciated.

I recently ordered (and haven't even received yet) from Newegg a Synology 1511+. I was about to press the order button on a Drobo FS until I read all the owner complaints about network speed. I realize, though, that both of these devices are a bit outside of your budget. You might find it a bit difficult to get what you're looking for without stepping up to at least $600 US. The Drobo FS is around $600-630 and the Synology Diskstation 1511+ is around $800-820 US. I could only find 2 qnap devices that supported 5 drives - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...SpeTabStoreType=&AdvancedSearch=1&srchInDesc= .

Recently purchased AKG Q701 headphones and although they feel a little flimsy for their price tag they do sound great. I'm still debating what to power them with as my Xonar DG is rather noisy and weak. I've been looking at various dac & amp combos but for 200$, a solid soundcard like this doesn't seem like a bad idea. What do you guys think?

HT | OMEGA Claro Halo 24-bit 192KHz PCI Interface Sound Card w/ a built-in HI-FI Headphone Amplifier

ASUS Xonar Essence STX Virtual 7.1 Channels 24-bit 192KHz PCI Express x1 Interface 124 dB SNR / Headphone AMP Card

Budget is ~ 200$

Ok, I am about to setup a server used for file syncing and an online db (like SQLite or something?) anyway, I also wanna have Fedora running on it..

I guess I can just get any server and install what I want + make it do what I want it to do, but what server(s) and/or system specs should I be specifically looking at for doing those things better than other servers?

A:File sync + online DB buying advice

Depends. Do you actually need a server?

Are we talking about a dedicated server in a datacenter, or are you building a server at home/work and using it connected to the internet there?

You need to tell us what you want to do with the server. If its a dedicated server, what do you plan to do with it? Monthly bandwidth, unique visitor numbers, number of sites, etc.

For homeserver, again, what is your intended usage. Your current post is far too vague to give any realistic answer.

A:Grandpa/grandson low budget PC project advice

I built this PC for myself 2 weeks ago and I LOVE IT!!! It will easily last me the next 3-5 years before I would have to do any MAJOR upgrade.

Antec 300 case $35
Intel i5 2500k cpu
Asus p8z68-v lx motherboard (bundled with cpu for $250)
OCZ ZX series 650w power supply $80
Sapphire Radeon HD 6870 1GB ($145 after rebate from newegg)
SanDisk Ultra SDSSDH-120G-G25 2.5" 120GB SATA II Internal Solid State Drive ($125)
8GB Corsair XMS 1600 RAM ($45)
Samsung DVD-R OEM ($20)
Windows 7 Pro 64-bit

Please note that HDD prices are triple what they should be due to the mass flooding in Taiwan. If you buy your listed HDD now you will pay the same as a 1 Terabyte HDD in a few months. The SSD drive will be MUCH MUCH faster and will get you through the price increase. and you can add a mechanical drive in the future. SSD will easily hold Win OS, most frequently used software and games.

Any reason for a Micro-ATX board?

You're better off upgrading the board aswell. Your motherboard does not support DDR3 RAM (DDR2)

Hey all,

I'm thinking of buying a new laptop to conduct work and do some gaming in my spare time. Right now I am between choosing one of the below:

lenovo Y470
or
Asus N53SV

Both almost identical with the exception of video cards. Hence, my question:
If all are the same, which would be better: 1GB GT550m OR 2GB GT540m?

Really appreciate the help....

A:Need advice: 550m vs 540m

The Lenovo is likely slightly more reliable.

I doubt you will be able to detect the difference between the 1 GB GT550m vs 2GB GT540m... if it comes down to cost issues.

Hi,
I've recently finished building a computer and i turn it on and there is no connection to the screen, at first i thought it was my screen but i tried 3 others and still not working. I then thought maybe my GPU was broken so i took it out and tried another still no display eventually i discovered that my RAM voltage was too high for my Motherboard. I have two sticks of PNY DDR3 DIMM 4GB RAM 2.5V and I figured it would be cheaper to buy a motherboard which would run the RAM as i spent £90 on the ram overall. Can anyone tell me a motherboard i can buy to support my 2.5V RAM for about £60 - £70,
My computer specs are as follows:
CPU: AMD Phenom II X4 960T 3.0Ghz black edition
GPU: ATI Radeon 5770 HD GDDR5 1GB HIS
RAM: PNY PC3-10660 DDR3 PC Memory - 4GB DIMM RAM 2.5V
PSU: 850W Win Power Plus
MoBo: Gigabyte GA-770T-D3L (Doesn't support the RAM)
HDD: Hitachi Deskstar 7200rpm 32mb cache

Any suggestions to a MoBo that willl support my 2.5V RAM pleaseClick to expand...

RAM voltage don't matter, there's something other than the RAM that isn't working. There might be a problem with the PSU or you simply didn't connect the 6-pins to the video card. Btw, the mobo you have DOES support that kind of memory! Double check every connector, you should get that thing up and running.
