I'm looking for a font manager that will scan my hdd for all fonts, installed and not installed, and let me categorize them into virtual groups or use tags so that I can easily find the fonts I have tagged/grouped as bold or angled or holiday or with a motion effect etc. Font Book, which comes w/ the mac os, only lets me group fonts that are installed.
I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.
I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.
You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/directdownload.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)
I found a good review of mac fonts, including reviews of font managers. There are trial versions of all but one. None of them sound like they will function to classify fonts [by my criteria] stored on the hdd, but not installed. Also found an article on font management tools that included programs that will let you view uninstalled fonts - but Font Book does that.http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/t/380261/recommend-font-manager-for-mac/
Every 10 seconds audio manager will set the volume on my mic to 0 and mute it I have already tried to uninstall it and reinstall it but no result.
It may be malware but I am not sure as of yet. Would really appreciate help right now.
Problem Solved, As suspected it was malware. To fix this launch task manager, then go to start up, go through the list if something dosn't have a icon or dosn't seem to fit in right click and open its file location. If you are definite that it is malware disable it, restart go to the file location and delete all the files.
I was updating my graphics card drivers for my graphic card PNY GEFORCE GTX 660 and went to device manager, I used ?automatically search for new driver? and a dialog box appeared "Windows has determined that the driver is up to date".
Yet, I went to Nvidia website and did a driver update. I checked again Device manager for my display adapter and the new driver was TWO MONTHS NEWER.
I wonder why that happens.
I am looking for a new USB flash drive with all of the following features:
Metal case or very hard plastic. Not rubberized.
USB 3.0 with R/W speeds of at least 50MB/s
No cap, swivel cap or removable protective casing.
At least 16GB or more.
I still have SanDisk Cruzer Micro Titanium. I am looking for something similar in size and features, but faster with bigger capacity.
Any ideas? Thanks
I bought the Mushkin Enhanced Atom 64GB USB Flash Drive. The write speeds are a bit slower than I wanted at 20MB, but read speeds are above 100MB. I can't complain though as the drive performs as advertised. And for what I want it works perfectly. The casing is hard plastic not rubberized. I know you said no cap, I had that rule as well but grew tired of trying to sort through the available options. Anyway I wanted to pass the word on the recorded speed for my purchase. My last purchase was years ago for a 16GB Cruzer Micro like the one you have.
Here are the benchmarks for my flash drive.

Hey, I'm a new member here with a problem!
I have a pair of Skullcandy Crushers with an arguably great built-in mic that turn on with a press of a button. However I built a new computer a few days ago and installed the latest version of the ASUS Realtek HD Audio manager, and while the audio on the headphones work, the mic refuses to work and isn't even recognized on programs like Skype and Hangouts.
I have tried the front two ports and tinkered with the settings and nothing has worked as of now, please help ASAP!
Yeah thats because Skullcandys aren't really built for computers, just iPhone & Android. I had the same issue with my Skullcandy headphones and decided to buy a legit for PC headset. Sorry you spent your money on them!
Can someone please recommend me a colour laser printer for home use? Resolution should be at least 1200 x 1200 dpi. The option to print both sides of the paper would be nice. Multiple paper trays not necessary, nor anything else that will add unnecessary bulk to its size. There should also be connection for Ethernet and USB. Preferable that it uses separate toner cartridges for the different colours, so if one colour runs out then only that colour needs changing rather than the whole lot.
You realize these are very expensive to both purchase and on a cost/page.
My laptop had headphones plugged in because I was watching a film but while I was in another room my laptop was knocked onto the floor around - ft drop change mic to a HD audio headphones Realtek port? port a manager, landing on the headphones jack the wire is fine but the ports completely broken I can see cracks and its loose and everything The laptop has Realtek HD audio manager and in my experience of this program on other desktops I ve had I was able to change Realtek HD audio manager, change a mic port to a headphones port? what port does what My laptop only has a headphones port and Realtek HD audio manager, change a mic port to a headphones port? a mic port and I would like to see if I can switch the mic port to be the headphones port because I never use an external mic however in Realteks audio manager I can t find out how to do this In pictures I ve seen on the internet there is a quot Device Advanced Settings quot button as seen in this picture http www vistax com attachments ealtek-hd-audio-driver-version-hd manager jpg but my program doesn t have this Do I need to download a newer version of the software or is it just not possible to change my mic port to be my headphone port I dont mind if I have to use third party software I just want it to tide me over till I can get it sent away Thanks for suggestions greatly appretiated nbsp
I doubt very much if this will be possible. The mic and headphone ports are wired directly to the Audio section of the motherboard, there connections cannot be altered.
Your best bet is to get the damaged port repaired.
Hi every one this is my first thread and I'm having a problem with my laptop so plz help me
there is a strange processes in the task manger called diduytt.exe there is more than one but with the same name I can end all the processes except the last one I cant end it
but after a while these processes start coming up again and my laptop start to heat up and I located
the place of the processes every time I delete it it dose come back again
Not sure here but you may have a virus. Have you tried running a virus scan?
Yesterday, I started a download and kept the pc on with my Seagate FreeAgent GoFlex External HDD 1TB plugged in. After I woke up I realized that there was a power cut and the computer went off unexpectadly (I had no UPS or any backup system). And, I found that my Ext HDD was not seen in my computer anymore (It was working perfectly until before I went to bed).
In device manager, under 'Disks' it shows 'GoFlex Hard Disk', but in BIOS or Disk Manager there is no sign of this HDD.
I really need the data in the HDD badly. Please help me recover it.
P.S. I read somewhere that keeping the HDD in freezer might help and give a little more time. Is that true? Worth the risk?
Power outage probably killed something in the enclosure or its PSU. The drive in the enclosure is probably fine. I would remove the drive from the enclosure and put it in a dock or install it in a desktop computer before considering freezing it. Freezing is usually reserved for click of death drives, and a last ditch effort.
HDD 1 tb Seagate hardisk not working,is not visible in the laptop, can b seen in device manager for 1min then gets disconnected automatically and the light on the hard disk starts blinking
If the system worked before with this drive, I would say the drive is bad.
I need to extend my signal on my router. It is not going as far as I need. The place where I need it has an Ethernet port in the room but I would need to be able to wire from the piece of equipment that I decide to use there. It would probably best be a router unless an access point can have ports to hook up to additional equipment in the room that I already use. I know it is best to stay with the same brand and my router is NETGEAR DGN3500. Can anyone tell me what they would use? Thanks.
Best to use either Wireless Access Point or Wireless Router (disable DHCP,VPN, SPI and NAT)
Example #1 using two Wireless Routers (note interwebs = modem)
Example #2 Using Wireless Router with Wireless Client Bridge with Wireless Access Point
There are also PowerLine Wireless (one box connects to our router lan port) uses AC power
These are the options you can use or just use Access Point which has Wireless features. That would connect to your Router as shown in the first example. Port 1 goes into the single port of Access Points to extend your Wireless where the room is not getting enough single to it.
Your model is also ADSL modem and router all you need to buy is either Powerline set or AP (Wireless Access Point) which has wired LAN connection port.
Hi, so my integrated webcam isn't showing up and I'm trying to confirm whether it's died or not. I know the first step is to go to the manufacture's website, but as an Asus user I wasn't able to find anything to help me solve this problem asides from this model knowledge base.
Here's my Device Manager Data link below (first time using mediafire so let me know if it works)
Windows 7 x64
Thanks so much!
Some reliable good RAM, preferably 2 x 4GB ram under $100, which I would use for somewhat intensive gaming.
What's your CPU? This will determine if you need fast RAM or not, but in any case you should be able to get 8GB for well under $100.
I'm hoping for something cheap because reading ebooks is all I intend to do with it.
Any help appreciated.

hi i have at mo 400 watt psu and a 4 gig amd quad core processor and a nvidia gtx 520 graphics card with at the mo 2 gig of ram but am waiting on my new 8 gig ram to come though the post and i also have a dual layer dvd writer and a 1tb hard drive it works fine with the 400 watt psu bt as soon as i download utorrent and start to download the files fail and then my computer runs really sluggish and then sometimes will fail to boot up but this only happens mainly after i have installed utorrent any ideas what could be the matter and how i can solve it thank you very much
I don't think this is a PSU issue, you don't have many components and the GT 520 is a low power card (Nvidia's website recommends a 300W power supply).
Sounds like you probably downloaded a virus or something... you can try cleaning up your computer or reformatting.
I really want to play a game on my pc shogun 2 but I don't have a graphics card that will run this game. So please could anyone recommend me a a graphics card that will run shogun 2 smoothly and under £100. My PC's specifications are as follows:
Dell inspiron 530
Windows vista home premium
Intel core 2 duo 2.20GHz
I will be grateful for any recommendations or advice.
Found this AMD Radeon 6850 for ~£100. This is probably the best bang for the buck at this price segment.
You might however consider getting a better power supply, as the minimum PSU requirement is 500W for that GPU.
According to this your PC has a 300W PSU.
Here's a good PSU for ~£60.
Alternatively, any no-name 600W PSU should suffice, but I don't recommend that.
I just got a brand new Klipsch Promedia 2.1 system for my laptop.
These speakers have amazing ratings, and my friends who have had them before said the ones they had sounded amazing for them, and yet they, like me, notice the following problem in mine.
The bass is great, but for some reason my system seems too bassy. Like I know I can turn down the subwoofer, but it's as if all the low/bassy sounds are always drowning out the higher/vocals, which always seem to be a bit dulled down.
I have a Lenovo Y560p laptop with Realtek HD Audio. I was thinking perhaps I have this sound problem because it doesn't let me select 2.1 for my settings, and it's stuck on "stereo". I've tried downloading and installing drivers from Realtek's website.
hi - i was just playing music on my dell latitude e4300 via bluetooth to a belkin bluetooth receiver connected to stereo.
somehow the connection got dropped - during a phone call on a land line. may be irrelevant.
now, i cannot get bluetooth connection back. there is no bluetooth icon in the system tray.
i cannot find 'bluetooth' devices in start>control panel> devices
--i have 2, and both ought to be there.
i unplugged bluetooth receiver, and had win 7 search for devices to add - no luck.
sure, i can reboot, and everything will probably come back.
but i am hoping for a better answer. i don't want to have to reboot every time the bluetooth connection gets lost.
i searched the web for a little, but only found unrelated posts, or posts with no answer. THANKS!
bluetooth light/icon on laptop, not screen is on; no bt
ok, i rebooted, thinking the bluetooth icon would again be in system tray, with the red in the middle, showing i have bluetooth capability, but that sound is not currently being directed to bluetooth.
the dell laptop does have bluetooth icon illuminated on the laptop, just above the function keys - not on the screen at all / not in sys tray.
the bluetooth receiver is on, is working.
'add a device' is not finding this bt thingie.
Suddenly one of my hdds dropped from windows it shows as failed in disc management and cant be reactivated from there Tho its seen in a bios boot and in device manager even says device is working properly When i checked bios i did it in ways with and w out bad hdd hooked up To hook it up i unplugged a working sata port - ST As- HDD BIOS device can't in but and manager it access seen GB and hooked problem HDD to that sata port when i rebooted into bios and checked what i seen on port was now ST AS- GB Does this seemingly point to fact this is the problem HDD being seen in bios now i decided to check Ie Device manager and it shows ata devices named ST AS so to assure myself i boot down HDD seen in BIOS and device manager but can't access it unhook problem drive and reboot now in device manager disc drives i see only one named ST AS when i re hook the problem hdd device manager shows both again So it appears device manager and bios see this HDD thats giving me nite mares i ve tried active undelete and BadCopy Pro But obv theyd fail as windows isnt seeing this drive As in my re search of last several weeks ive heard the SATA drive may be taking itself off line if Windows try to access it too much and that a sata usb bay cable s may sort me out here as im told some have had success when hooked in the traditional way a sata drive fails If this is possible i wont mind another purchase but the software has already set me back a fair bit PS ive seen the youtube video on swapping out the pcb but im also told matching a pcb is near impossible and it shows no physical damage i can see it seems a huge long shot its the pcb i also hear drive getting power and once or x i heard access noise Any further direction in this matter is appreciated Cheers nbsphttp://www.techspot.com/community/topics/hdd-seen-in-bios-and-device-manager-but-cant-access-it.173486/
I have a WD external USB 2.0 HD. Yesterday, there was a message on screen asking to update driver or something. I ignored it. Now, the HD is gone. It is not under device manager/disk drives. Everything under universal serial bus controllers works properly.
I downloaded HDD Scan and ran it. It did not find the drive. What can I do now?
1. Uninstall your USB Mass Storage Device then Scan for Hardware Changes.
2. Clear your Mountpoint. You can use Autorun Protector (req .NET2.0) or delete all Mountpoints2 entries in regedit
3. Use DriveCleanup (posted by LookinAround)
I'm looking for one for my parents' house. About 50-70 bucks or so. Nothing fancy.
I have purchased 3x of these the all now have the same 5dBi 3x = 15dBi and each router packs a -20dBm = 100mW. Very strong about again if you have older home you have to see how many you need. These cost $50 plus. Depends on where you get it online. I don't have any issues with TP-LINK TL-WR1043ND
32MB of RAM
8MB for Flash
832KB Packet Buffer
10/100/1000mbps ports WAN / 4 LAN
USB Port can be use Media server or FTP server using the latest ROM update.
Removable SMA ANT.
My review of this router here
It's getting to be upgrade time again.
Going to go the server route, probably 1366 Xeon.
My questions are:
1. Do Xeon 1366's have different hole alignment/spacing that consumer 1366's?
2. If so, can anyone recommend some water blocks other than Koolance, which I know I can use, to take a look at?
Thanks for any help.
Im pretty sure all 1366 motherboards use the same mounting holes. So any waterblock for the 1366 socket should be compatible.
I have seen similar problems to mine but Realtek Audio HD jack not unplugged Manager recognizing not exactly the same I am using windows home Realtek HD Audio Manager not recognizing unplugged jack prem bit Motherboard H m with a Gateway dx - e All drivers are up to date as of - - I m new to the forum so please forgive any ignorance on my part All was working fine until yesterday When front jack detection Realtek HD Audio Manager not recognizing unplugged jack is enabled with Realtek HD manager I can t hear my speakers but my headphones work When I disable it the speakers work as do the headphones if plugged in The funny thing is when I enable the detection it is showing that on the front panel headphone speakers that there is still a jack plugged in and also shows where I actually have the speakers plugged in and that is the rear jack I assume that is why I can t hear any sound from the speakers I don t know why it doesn t respond when I unplug the headphones Note that it detects all of the other jacks when something is plugged in or unplugged Any help would greatly be appreciated nbsp

You need to specify your OS and SP level. I am suggesting you could try system repair. Here is the Vista method. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/936212 XP is similar. I am not familiar with the Win7 version.
In the case of XP this wont be very effective unless you actually have the install CD with slipstream SP level as well.
Other possibilities are system restore to before the original error; and/or a deep scan for malware.
Failing all that, a complete system reinstall might be advisable, which is a pain in fundamental anatomical areas.

I would agree with your final comment, "if it ain't broke don't fix it". But, on the other hand if Dell are pushing this recommendation then it may have some benefits, just make certain it is coming from Dell and not some bogus site. Go to the official Dell support site and look up your PC's drivers, it will show you in there what the latest version the Bios is, just check it against what you have. Go into Bios at boot and it will be written at the top of the screen.
I have a Western Digital 250 GB external HD that had been working perfectly until yesterday afternoon. It has been making this repetitive whirring noise *not the clicking noise of death* and it died before I had a chance to copy the data onto another external. When I plug in the USB it makes the connection noise, but autoplay does not come up and it does not show up in my computer anymore. I did look in device manager and disk management and it does show up but it had no drive letter and it says unreadable. (I've attached a screenshot of this)
Is there any way I can recover the data off of it? Should I just take it out of the enclosure and hook it up to a desktop pc?
It sounds like the drive itself is dead rather than the enclosure. The repetitive 'whirring' noise likely is immediately following the click of death, just the click is pretty quiet on a lot of notebook drives. If yours is a full size (3.5") drive in that enclosure, then perhaps you are right and the click of death isn't occurring.
In either case, its not going to hurt to hook it up internally, because even if it doesn't work you aren't any worse off than you are now.
Well I re-formatted the other day and have a problem that I ve never had before so here goes I currently have my Hi-Fi and Manager HD Realtek Audio my headphones plugged into my machine they used to work perfectly together I mean that the same sound off every program played into both of them at the same time If I didn t want to use my speakers I d simply Realtek HD Audio Manager turn the volume down on the front of it Now after re-formatting I can t get them to combine in Realtek HD Audio Manager I don t know if this is to do with RHDAM or if it s a Volume Mixer problem It s seriously starting to annoy me Even if I could just choose the programs that each device used So that I could put all programs onto both of them that would be great I m using the front Headphone and Mic socket for my headphones Pink amp Green For my Hi-Fi I m using the back black and pink sockets There are other sockets that I could use but I ve tried them all and to no avail The other colours just in case it s relevant are blue black green and bronze Can someone help me please Thank Realtek HD Audio Manager you P S I searched and couldn t find anything that related to this exact problem P P S I ve found that the same as before if I blow into my mic or move it the sound comes through my Hi-Fi speakers nbsp

hi guy's i just upgraded from windows vista to win.7 and everything was working fine till i went to my device manager then i found out that my coprocessor is not installed i have tried installing it automatically but to no avail please what driver is recommended for the coprocessor can Nvidia product work am using an amd sempron processor nvidia graphics 2gb ram 32bit operating system and window 7 ultimate operating system.
Not sure what component of your system that "Coprocessor" will be from. Do you have a cd or dvd that came with your system/motherboard? If not check what motherboard you have and go to the manufacturers website and download the latest drivers for it. I would guess that would be the most likely culprit
Hey this morning i put in a new video card xfx radeon hd and installed the software and drivers from the ati website It seems that the hdmi audio driver Audio manager Realtek HD gone! has screwed up my realtek audio I had the problem when I went from xp to win and installed the newest driver v it did not work so i found the cd that came with the computer and installed the old one v it was fine I ve tried to do that again by uninstalling the driver from the device manager but the problem is that the hd Realtek HD Audio manager gone! audio manager is never installed and not even seen in control panel I ve done the same in safe mode and no luck When i try to manually add hardware Realtek HD Audio manager gone! and select the version i get a blue screen of death the installs fine but there is no audio and no audio manager i used to be able to get the audio manager at least when i did this a year ago I ve system restored to a couple days back and still no luck this is driving me insane for hours now Any help will be appreciated Thanks dxdiag shows no audio the droidcam is for my android phone had that for a while that s not the problem Thanks img imageshack us img png nbsp

All i know my pc is 2.66ghz , 2 hard drives , asus motherboard , 256 creative sound card ,
the thing is i use two hard drives , and i need to use my dvd drive but i can't due to not having enough sata connections , is there anyway where i can use my two hard drives, dvd drive and my cd-rom rom drive...
Also i need a power supply can anyone recommend any..?
Are you unable to use your DVD because of a lack of power connectors, or SATA data connectors?
If your power supply still works, you could just purchase a molex to 2x sata adapter, to create two more SATA power connectors.
Hi there I m having some problem with my sound behavior I m using intel d gcnl onboard Realtek audio manager HD behavior realtek driver win xp I ve chasing front panel audio port Here s the problem I m having recently I connected my front panel port HD pinouts But after connecting my front Realtek HD audio manager behavior panel is treating like rear panel and giving output on both panels Realtek audio manager does not popup for plugging front panel there is a portion for front panel in audio manager amp ticked auto popup Like as while playing music in speaker if I connect head phone in front panel both speaker amp headphone are running simultaneously Is it natural or one of the panel should get muted Here what I did Connect front panel wires in intel d gcnl board HD Config Reinstall realtek audio driver Also try with recent updated driver Plug both panel speaker amp headphone Both are playing at the same time same thing none of them are getting muted Is there any solution or it is natural If natural is there any way to mute one of them Please healp nbsp
It is natural if they have been heavily used, or overdriven. What sound cards and sound chips do is burn out or wear out... Might be time to disable what you have, and install a low cost sound card.
For such a setup on a d945gcnl, you have some significant miles on it.
I have ordered all my components except for the case. I was thinking of ordering either of these:
My maximum budget is around £50.
- Good/sleek looking
- Has to accomodate ATX motherboard and an nVidia GeForce GTX 460
- Around or under budget
Please give your comments and recommendations
I like the M59 one
Have you taken a look at other alternatives like Antec / Cooler Master etc.?

Does anybody know what this device does. It's located under SCSI and RAID Controller, it's called AWFOEXCS IDE Controller. I have no idea what the hell is that.
I've seen those on the Media Center edition of Windows
This is just a quick tutorial so you can get the most out of a 2.1 speaker configuration, I was helping a member out on a different forum since he was asking if there was a Realtek HD Audio Manager option for 2.1 speakers and I thought this tutorial might be helpful if you guys want your 2.1 speaker setups to sound better. From doing this tutorial the bass coming from your sub wont have a bunch of static when you're blasting your speakers and from doing this everything will sound more clear when you're playing music at a low or high volume. Just open up Realtek HD Audio Manager and copy these settings from the screen shots I took on my computer.
this is nice but it should have been posted here Techspot's Guides and Tutorials
Every now and then I get an error, "The device 'Generic volume' cannot be stopped because a program is still accessing it", after trying to safetly remove my USB device.
No matter what I do I can not get it to say Device is ok to be Safetly Remove (or what ever it is)... - I mean I close everything that I can think of; I have tried to close a few program under the "Processes" tab of the windows task manager however some of these unsure if I she End Process so when unsure I do not. Is there anyway of knowing what these programs are?
Back to the USB device isue - will shutting off computer be good enough to unplug the USB drive? As there is always a little power in the computer on shut down.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated - thanks,
Look in the bottom toolbar for a tiny icon that has a green arrow pointing down to the left, and a grey image of a USB flash drive just below it.
Right click on that tiny arrow-grey box set. You will get the box "Safely Remove Hardware"
Click on that choice, and wait until you get the message on your screen that it is safe to remove the USB flash device.

i just bought an nvidia Ge force 9400 gt and tried installing the drivers and i get an error message that says
(the nvidia setup program has detected that one or more Microsoft hardware installation wizards are active. do you want to continue with setup? click yes to minimize setup until you complete or cancel the other installation wizard(s). click no to exit setup.)
the installation wizard is trying to automatically install the hardware but if i go into control panel/administrative tools/plug and play and disable plug and play like i was told, the program says that there is no available graphics adapter but the original error message telling me other installation programs are running is gone. how am i supposed to install these drivers if windows is trying to install them with another program? How can i disable hardware install wizard so that it doesnt disable the graphics adapter PLEASE HELP!
Follow these steps to install your new graphics card:
1. Download the latest drivers for your card. Clean all old video drivers from your system. You may use Driver Sweeper if you wish.
2. Shut your PC down and put the new GPU in the motherboard slot.
3. Start up the system and change your primary graphics adapter in BIOS to PCI-E (assuming you have a PCI-E card) or PCI / AGP.
4. After logging in to Windows just close the Hardware Installation Wizard when it comes up. Double click on the drivers you downloaded and it should be installed without any issues.
I am currently trying to recover videos off of a JVC camcorder that died It had a gb Hitachi quot HDD so I ordered an enclosure for it and set it up When I plug it in it makes the windows new hardware found noise and pops up in the bottom recognizing it as a mass storage device The light on the enclosure comes on and I can hear feel the hard drive spinning It is visible in device manager but not in my computer In disk management it shows up as quot Disk Unknown Not Initialized quot and when I right click it and hit initialize I get an error simply stating quot The device is not ready quot I also tried running testdisk on it but testdisk does not even see it All forums I have seen thus far say the only way around this is to re format it but I m really hoping someone has a better answer because I really want those videos Thanks in advance nbsp
Tough one, but why don't you see if you can find used JVC model online that still works and transfer the data. JVC must be using some other sort of format that Windows can't detect. If you had XP or 98 SE box you could try to see if the setup you have can see the media.
the sound on my laptop wont work ive gone into device manager under the control panel and went to the current realtek hd audio manager driver and it says its working properly but i cannot hear any sound out of my computer I ve tried putting headphones into the computer and they wont work either i just get a sort of fuzzy sound but cannot hear any sounds of the computer I even replaced the speakers in the laptop only to find out that it was not the problem there are two icons in the toolbar at the bottom -one is a volume symbol and is red in color this just recently came up -the other is a regular white volume symbol where i can adjust the volume i ve looked into the sound manager and none of the volume adjusters are muted or anything so i have no clue what the problem is can any please help me with this nbsp
I'd first try just reinstalling Realtek using the latest version you find from your system provider or motherboard mfr.
To remove it, first look in Add/Remove programs to see if Realtek listed and remove it there (that should remove applications, control panel applets and drivers). Then check Device Manager and, if still there, uninstall it from there too
i have gone through my devices and on the bottom are my usbs and they all have a question mark by them
With the amount of information given I have to say the best advice I can give is install the driver.
Might want to check out the link in my signature.
...It initially didn't show up in 'Computer' (or My Computer). Device manager said its working properly.
I put the Vista Disc in (had to get a pirate one from someone because my disc drive won't read the official one all of a sudden) and tried to install Vista on this one as a way of forcing it to show, only to get an error code 0x8007000cl. I then split the new 1.5 tb drive into 98 gb and about 1300 gb via the vista DVD's drive list that comes up, partitioned the 98 gb, and now that smaller one at least shows up under 'Computer' but it still wont allow me to format it.
Any ideas please? Thanks.
The fact that your system will not load your disk is worrisome, but I suspect you have a defective drive, or inadequate resources. Tell us more about your computer brand and model, or about the motherboard.
Is this a new SATA drive you are dealing with?
its for my mom, she doesn't game, do anything resource intensive. want to spend 300-500 bucks. heres what i would like for it to have: dual core proc., 3 gig RAM, 250 gig hard drive. thanks guys.
Hi I am having a problem setting up my new audio connections I have a simple speaker desktop system that also comes with a sub The two speakers have jack connections to the sub unit and then the sub has a green cable connection that use to always hang out in the green port in HD Manager Problem Realtek Audio the back panel of my computer But i recently bought a Razer Lycosa keyboard and that comes with a headphone and mic port on the keyboard itself So i connected the green and pink cables from the keyboard to the green and pink connections on my back panel headphone and mic and plugged in my green cable from the sub to the black port of the back panel So in the Realtek HD audio manager ports are used The green port is set to headhpones for the keyboard the pink port is set to mic for the Realtek HD Audio Manager Problem keyboard and the black port is set to front speakers The front speakers and sub work perfectly fine they play audio as always The headphone jack on the keyboard also plays audio when i plug my headphones into them however when i plug my headphones into the keyboard it doesn t disable the desktop speakers they both play at the same time I ve been in contact with Razer to see if there are keyboard settings that are meant to resolve this but there is no option in the keyboard for any of this Razer say this is an Realtek HD Audio Manager Problem audio driver issue So is there any way that i can set the Realtek manager to understand when headphones are being plugged into the keyboard Or is there a way i can manually disable the desktop speakers when i plug in my headphones nbsp
its not a driver problem. if you tell me what version of windows your using i can help you more. here is a simply solution, open Realtek HD Audio Manager right click on black port on the right and go to Audio Device Settings then from there move the slider on the top to mute the desktop speakers when you want the muted
I'm looking to replace my SRX200 linksys router. I'd like something that is N and backwards compatible with every other format. Currently I run my router with 4 computers, my blackberry phones, an xbox 360, and a WII. I have a rather large apartment with several rooms and two floors. My current router has a problem streaming video from laptops to my xbox and I was told I needed a N router to do this more effectively. My router is now randomly dropping connections for some reason and I've had it for 2 years. Also, I have a 20mb connection and will be upgrading to 60mb very soon.
So I'm looking for the best between $100 to $200. I'm looking for the best that I can get.
This would be the way to go especially if you're streaming videos. It may be to the upper limit of your budget, butit's worth it. Check out the features - you'll see...
I am looking for a 2TB NAS to add to my network, now I have used a NAS in the past and was not impressed with the file transfer, although that was 3 years ago and this Seagate 2TB NAS look ok. I have always used Segate HDD internal and external, would anybody else recommend this. it's actually quite small and segate says it's very quiet, I remember reading about the last NAS I bought and that said it was very quite as well? It wasn't it was very loud.
Thanks in advance.
I would get Gig network NAS.
I just bought myself a Powercolor Radeon HD 4890 yesterday. After installing the card and the required drivers everything works like a charm. However, every time I start up my PC I get a message saying that a new device has been found on my system. On checking Device Manager I found an "Unknown device" entry under "Other devices".
I'm attaching a screenshot of Device Manager.
Are there any drivers I'm missing? It only happened after removing my old card (after uninstalling all its drivers) and installing the Radeon.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
I have a Powercolor Radeon HD 4890 (I also have a Gigabyte 4890 and XFX 4890 in two other PCs). I think you need to install the latest ATI Catalyst Suite. You may have installed the driver only package. Anyway, I think it has to do with the HDMI capabilities of the card. High def sound is built into the card (the HD part of the card name) and the HD sound driver is part of the Catalyst Suite. When you use an HDMI cable to an appropriate display, HD sound is also transmitted through the same cable from the Radeon graphics card.
Of course, be sure to install .NET Framework 2.0 as it is required before you can install the full Catalyst Suite. The HD sound driver won't install without it. At least I had trouble before I installed .NET 3.5. I went to Windows Update and installed .NET Framework 3.5. 2.0 is included in that update and 2.0 wasn't available separately.
One of my friends wishes to purchase servers and his requirements are as follows. Can someone please recommend a HP server along with exact model and details specifications including URL which can help him select. Details available are:
Server #1: To be used as the main server for DNS, DHCP, and MS-Exchange server
Server #2: Will be used an a application server
Questions/more available information:
1) He wishes to have raid 3 or raid 5 for server # 2
2) How much total hard disk should be ok for each server
3) what should be the min. RAM for each server
4) He wishes to have internal tape back-up unit for server #2
He will have success with any computer sold as a Server. But he will likely have to install the extra RAID drives. Servers do not need a lot of Ram. You can get by with 512MB on up.
Internal tape back up is a separate unit you buy and install after market, but some servers come with them installed.
Installing and running servers is not rocket science, but it is difficult compared to a regular computer, and requires some reading and study, or experience on another server.
There are plenty of good books on Servers available on Amazon and a variety of good book stores... or from better libraries. You do not need the most recent book, but one that references Windows Server 2003 would be a good choice.
I m looking to add a few more harddrives to my system I already have but I might take of those you Which of recommend? these drives would out and put their contents on a partition or something Who knows Anyway I was looking at a few harddrives on Newegg Which of these drives would you recommend? and always having been partial to Western Digital they were the first Which of these drives would you recommend? once I looked at Which of these drives would you recommend? This one immediately caught my eye for obvious reasons http www newegg com Product Product aspx Item N E TB WD Caviar Green Now before I hear you say it I won t be using these harddrives as my installation drive I MIGHT install games to it maybe but probably not These will be used for storage for the most part My main concern here is that I m reading a lot of bad reviews along with a lot of good ones about these TB drives and I d probably do better to hold off on those for a while until they stabilize I also came across this one though http www newegg com Product Product aspx Item N E TB WD Caviar Black Tons of great reviews about this drive and at only a little more than half the price of the TB it might be worth it And finally I m thinking I might replace my installation drive which is actually a partition of a Gig Samsung drive with a VelociRaptor I don t need anything large or whatever for my installation drive just fast http www newegg com Product Product aspx Item N E GB RPM This should be perfect Along with the fact that it s the x winner of the customer choice for internal harddrives it sounds pretty solid So the main thing I need is opinions which of those large capacity drives hould I get and is it worth the money to get the Raptor drive for increased performance ALSO I need a little help with something else I have a W Antex Earthwatts PSU It s held perfectly solid since I ve had it never an issue with it I m wondering what adding more harddrives will do to it though Like I said I ll probably remove the smaller harddrives I have a WD GB IDE and a Maxtor GB IDE and move their contents to either a folder or a partition of another drive Then I plan on replacing the GB partition of the GB Samsung SATA drive which is my installation C partition with the GB VelociRaptor then I want to add either or of those TB Caviar Black drives for a total of either or harddrives MY question is can a W PSU handle harddrives a PCI-E x video card internal optical drives an AMD Athlon X CPU and case fans or will I probably have to upgrade before long I m sure if I just remove those drives and add the velociraptor and the caviar in there it won t make any difference at all since I m still at harddrives but I still wanna know nbsp

Full 7200 RPM, and 1.5tb.
About the Velociraptor, while it is a decent harddrive, I think WD mistimed its entry, coming out just a bit before SSD's started going mainstream, and SSD destroy any raptor. So personally, I would recommend buying either a OCZ Vertex Series OCZSSD2-1VTX30G 2.5" 30GB SATA II MLC Internal Solid state disk (SSD) - Retail $130, OCZ Agility Series OCZSSD2-1AGT60G 2.5" 60GB SATA II MLC Internal Solid state disk (SSD) - Retail $230, OCZ Vertex Series OCZSSD2-1VTX60G 2.5" 60GB SATA II MLC Internal Solid state disk (SSD) - Retail $240, whatever you have the money for. Of course, there is much less storage space, so alternatively you can save up your money and buy when SSDs become even faster and cheaper.
can a 500W PSU handle 5 harddrives, a PCI-E16x video card, 2 (internal) optical drives, an AMD Athlon 64 X2 6000+ CPU, and 5 case fansClick to expand...

You might as well keep your drives in, the powersupply is fine. Also the raptor takes a bit more power than a normal drive, however, the WD 2tb green takes less power, but I don't think it is quite enough to offset the raptor.

I have 3 PCI Slots (One of which doesn't work for unknown reasons, 2 are being used - one by my wireless network and the other by my current graphics device, the fx 5200). I also have a AGP 4x/8x Slot... An older version. Newer AGP type devices I don't think will fit due to reversed plugs on the cards than I have in my motherboard. So please, no AGP recommendations.
But, I would like to hear of a nice, cheap video card that's in the range of GF 7 and GF 9. Thank you.

Hi everyone I m hoping someone here can help me with some sound problems Back on my old XP computer which I really miss the default sound manager was the Realtek HD Audio Manager as is the case with this settings help 10 manager, band EQ audio Vista computer However on the xp system the manager had band equalizers 10 band EQ settings audio manager, help that you could tweak to your liking It helped me get the most out of my crappy speakers and made listening to music and gaming tolerable On Vista though the band EQ has been completely scrapped and in its place are a couple crappy presets none of which provide the right tuning that I want Here s a pic of the XP one just for reference http i photobucket com albums oo qqnplayah soundmanager jpg The current one for comparison http uk geocities com iain lavache btinternet com real jpg So as you can see the new Vista manager is seriously lacking in that department and I m debating getting new speakers to make up for the deficiency Does anyone know of another program that manages the audio for your computer And I m not talking about video player equalizers as every single video player worth its data bits has it own equalizer I need a global audio manager that tweaks sound across the board and I need it bad Any help would be awesome nbsp
Why don't you invest in a good 3rd party sound card and use its supplied audio managing software
MY CD/DVD DRIVE ON MY WIN XP HOME SP2 PAVILLION t3310.it PC SHOWS ON DEVICE MANAGER AS OK, BUT DOES NT SHOW OR SPIN WHEN ANY DISC IS INSERTED. I REMEMBER HAVING LOADED NERO 7, THEN EXPRESS BURN SOFTWARE AND NTC CD/DVD CREATOR ON SAME PC. IT WORKED FINE TILL 5DAYS AGO WHEN I TRIED TO BURN SOME VIDEO CONVERTED CLIPS . IT TOOK SO LONG, DID NT BURN AND AFTER THAT MY DEVICE STOPPED WORKING.
AM DESPERATE. I FOLLOWED A LINK ON A SEARCH THAT SENT ME TO THE REGISTRY TO ELIMINATE "UPPERFILTERS/LOWER FILTERS ONLY TO MISTAKINGLY DELETE MY KYBD AND MOUSE.
NOW I'VE DONE A WHOLE NEW REINSTALLATION OF WINDOWS BUT STILL THE PROBLEM PERSISTS.I CHECKED ALL CABLES, EVERYTHING IS INTACT.
IT SPINS WHEN I REBOOT THE PC BUT IT WONT ON ANY CD INSERTION.
PLEASE HELP ME OUT.
Despite what the Device Manager says the drive could still be bad. In the Device Manager check under IDE ATA/ATAPI controller to see if any of the controllers have changed to PIO mode instead of the faster DMA or UDMA mode.
Ok here s the deal I woke up yesterday morning and turned on my laptop and I noticed that everything was running a little now manager missing? was boot PC slow, slow and a lot was freezing up It s gotten progressively worse and even Windows Task Manager says Not Responding Now here s the worst part I was trying to download the free AVG virus protection software since my Symantec expired I figured it must be a virus spyware malware trojan whatever I had a the Windows malware thing running and then everything just stopped Explorer AVG Malicious Software Removal everything quit so I tried to open Task Manager and it wouldn t work So i shut down my comp and now when I try to restart it no luck it says that it failed to restart and gives me options to open Command Prompt or do System Restore I have no restore points and I can t find the system restore disk I ve only had this comp since december and I don t know what went so terribly wrong Please help nbsp
you're going to have to either get a new manufacturer disk or buy a copy of the OS to install.
if you still have issues, then it's hardware related.
just installed a new tb hd
does not show in device manager
does show in disk manager but shows as failed
so i cannot format
thanks in advance!
You might have to update your motherboard bios in order to use this TB hard drive
Okay, so I have a friend that decided they were gonna build a new computer, and of course asked for my help.
They want to go with an AMD processor, but I said I'd rather go with an Intel... as I've seen that Intel's lately perform much better on average, put out less heat, and seem to have bigger L2 caches from what I've seen looking around.
Anyways, as I'm not familiar with AMD's latest lineup of processors, I thought I'd ask everyone here what they'd recommend. (Last time I even bought an AMD was about 3 years ago...) Anyone had any experience with AMD's more recent processors?
Depends on budget, AMD is marginally cheaper, and they have quite competative processors with lots of L3 cache. Budget?
So I have Realtek Audio Manager HD Realtek HD Audio Manager and when i built it with my computer tech at his house the sound worked through his speakers When I brought my computer home I hooked it up to my sound system My previous computer was hooked up in the same way sans Realtek I have no sound The problem doesn t seem to be with realtek but with my sound system that I have it Realtek HD Audio Manager hooked up with When I look at the settings sound is being played but just not relaying through my speakers which are connect to the sound system What I m looking for is plain and simple I do not want to buy separate speakers for my computer so I want it to work on what I have When I say sound system I am talking about a glorified cd player with Realtek HD Audio Manager all the amenities and big speakers attached to the main hub which is where my computer is plugged into I m just trying to figure out if maybe there is something in realtek that I just haven t turned on yet nbsp
Quick update. So I click the "test audio" button and I can hear the sound coming through my speakers. So now it comes down to, why isn't any sound, from programs outside of realtek, being heard?
can anyone reccomend a good atx case for me? Style doesnt matter to much but it has to be large and not too expensive. Ive seen a few good cases around like the antec 900? or the coolmaster haf or cosmos?
thx if you can help:grinthumb
The cases you suggested are pretty much top of the line on a budget in my opinion. id go for the antec.
I had my computer for a few months now, and not long ago, i recently found out people can hear through my speakers, it is at random also,i can be using the mic, and all of a sudden people would hear what i'm hearing, as in if i was listening to music, people would hear the music and not my mic, i play steam games alot, and sometimes when i test my mic, my mic would be muted, but it would echo the last sound that my speakers heard, its hard to explain, but its just that people can hear what i can at random, and its starting to bug me, i know i'm not in detail, because its hard to explain this, but if anyone has a vague idea of what i'm saying, please help
Yes, if you mean if what you're hearing through the headphone is transmitted via the mic.
In Vista, go to control panel > sounds > recording tab. right click > show disabled devices. Now, right click on mic and enable. Then, right click on Stereo mix and disable. That should do it.
Guys, can you help me out, I got my omnibook to try to boot by network, but I can't figure out were to go from here. I don't know what images to put in the boot section (images) on the manager. I don't have a floppy drive in either pc. So I can't run 98 boot disk, or snag the files off of it. I do have the disk for 98se. But I am trying to load xp pro sp2 on this laptop. please help.
I am needing to find the program to create a virtual floppy drive, or the installxp.img file, can anybody help me?
I have a Toshiba M700 laptop, running Windows Vista ultimate.
It has an internal bluetooth adapter. The bluetooth manager software that installs along with the drivers from Toshiba's website sucks. It causes a lot of little annoying problems, some of which you can't get around at all.
For this reason, I wish to use a different bluetooth manager program.
I'm not sure if Vista really has a default program, but my other 2 computers that have bluetooth seem to use the same, less annoying, bluetooth manager program.
Sorry if I'm being ignorant, but I'm not well acquainted with bluetooth yet.
"Sorry if I'm being ignorant, but I'm not well acquainted with bluetooth yet"...
This may be the root cause of your Bluetooth problem...
"It causes a lot of little annoying problems, some of which you can't get around at all"...
Can you explain in a little more detail just what are the problems
New ASUS Xonar D1 Is Awesome
First: Disregard the title on the forum page. I was going to ask a basic question, but found my answer. I changed the post to a quick review.
A Xonar D1 just replaced my onboard audio, and I'm very impressed. As the Xonar's box says, the sound is much cleaner. The tone color is richer, the separation between instruments is more distinct, and I'm hearing little sounds in my music I don't remember hearing before. I mostly listen to music and haven't tried any games or DVDs, but I have no doubt they too will be a big improvement. It's late, so I'll check out some games and movies later in the weekend and will post an update.
Hello, I have just upgraded to a new graphics card and have decided to completly start fresh, installing XP home edition Sp 2 onto a new HDD so my PC is virtually brand new. up on doing this the same way I always have I went into device manager, and noticed I have PCI slot 1 and 2 drivers missing, the thing is slot 1 and 2 are being used, one by my soundcard, the other by my humongous graphics card., I know I have installed every drive I was given with my mother board, I am begning to think i am having some conflict between my graphics card and mother board. also at start up, when windows starts and i get onto the home page, i get a dos screen with 'updating usb'...why is this doing this? please help...
Processor: Intel core duo Q9450
Motherboard: Asus maximus formula special edition
Graphics Card: Saphire Radion HD4870 512MB
Ram: DDR2 1024 MBytes X4
Go to ASUS's support website and download and install the chipset driver once more, for your motherboard
I have a ECS A790GXM-A (no tweaks) and and AMD 940 Black Edition processor. I had the original BIOS and just updated it to the latest version. Both show in device manager as AMD and processor type unknown. I just tried the chip in a ASUS motherboard (ASUS M3A78-T) same AMD 790 chipset and loaded the drivers from the ASUS cd and the processor shows up correctly and runs a awful lot faster than the ECS board. Anyone experianced this? Is there a problem with the board?
It's recommended to update the BIOS then install Windows (not the other way around)
Obviously confirm all system drivers are up to date
Or do a Repair on Windows
Microsoft's Windows XP Professional Repair Install step by step
Microsoft's Windows XP Home Repair Install step by step

This is why posting more info helps

I have an aging Brother HL-1450 which probably needs a new drum (if that will solve the dirt problem), but a new drum + new toner exceeds the price of most new lasers out there (yes, I know that those come with a starter toner, but the issue is the $117 drum).
The HL-1450 draws about 350 Watts when it prints, and that is a decent power draw (lights dim). Most of the new brothers want double that (including the currently on-sale HL-5240).
I am not married to Brother here ... can someone recommend a decent B&W laser printer which does not draw 600-1000W to print?
Lots of chioces... Here's one:
Currently have an HP A1730N and want to upgrade my video card to an XFX 7900GS. Current power supply is 300watts and I need bare minimum 350, so I figure a 500watt supply.
I have an onboard PCI-E slot, pci slots, 2 SATA board connectors. I am running 1 SATA HD, a USB DVDRW, and have 3 sticks of 1gb DDR2 RAM. Have about 6 USB devices going. Everything else is onboard, including sound and my current video card which will obviously be disabled. CPU is an AMD Athlon 64 x2 4600+
Need something that will fit fine and give me the right connections. Looking to spend less than $60. Thanks.
This one might work:
Don't expect top end for $60 though.
I have a Toshiba Satellite X205-SLi1. This morning i turned it on and it took an abnormal amount of time to boot up. I am unable to access any of the "system maintanance" progams (Control Panel, Task Manager etc). Other software programs will open, but then instantly start "Not Responding". The laptop gets stuck on "Logging Off" when attempt to shutdown or restart. I am unable to run my virus software. I tried to run Defrag and Disk Cleanup, neither will run. I am not the smartest person when it comes to computers, so any help anyone can offer will be geatly appreciated.
I am unable to connect to the internet for some reason too. Right Clicking on computer icon on bottom bar and clicking "Connect to a Network" freezes my computer.
You probably have a hard drive failing
OK, I recently bought a new thumb drive and was using a tool to encrypt it. It failed about half way through and my 16gig drive is registering as 7.83 I've used DiskManager and Command Prompt to try and reformat it to get the rest of the space. Also, in disk manager there is no unallocated space registering and for some reason I have the option of ejecting the drive? May have mounted a 7.53gig on it? After I eject it obviously, it just shows up like an empty memory card reader or something else with removable media.
HP USB Disk Storage Format Utility
Will format most USB flash drive
It can be known to recover Flash drives that are un-responsive too.
If that doesn't work try this one:
Hard Disk Low Level Format Tool
Please let me know of the outcome

I don't use headphones but you can try:
Right click your speaker icon in the Task Bar and click Open Volume Control and then left click Options, then Properties and select the Mixer device for HD Audio front microphone if it's selected HD audio render.
Looking for a good quality set with thick wiring. Over the last few years I've been through so much with one ear piece no longer working. I'd like something that lasts longer
Please recommend something you know of that has thick wiring, it must include a microphone for gaming purposes.
Google is a good tool for this...
Good evening all i have a big and in my case never encountered problem This is a Dell Inspiron from The following devices all have a yellow sign and say quot This device cannot find enough free resources that it can use Code quot the devices are - Broadcom x - Intel PRO wireless GB - Ricoh R RL C II or Compatible Cardbus controller problems device 6000 Inspiron manager - SDA Standard Complant SD host controller - and OHCI compliant IEEE I Host controller I took reformatting as a last Inspiron 6000 device manager problems resort after trying everything from uninstalling the drivers trying the windows troubleshooter which of course is a complete waste of time But then i bumped into the biggest problem when ever i press a key on the keyboard during the POST the computer freezes so i cant even get to the BIOS or select a boot device which makes it impossible to do a reformat Anyway help would be truly appreciated Any other info or questions please ask My years of experience has finnally met a challenge nbsp
Do this at your own risk, but it has worked for me. Go to Device Manager, delete everything with a yellow sign. Do not restart. Then go to control panel, add hardeware, and follow the instructions. If you are using XP it will restore them.
Hope this helps? If they do not work know, nothing lost.
OK here s what happened Someone was trying to add a video card to a Gateway GT PC so that they could use two monitors The PC and existing monitor was using the on board video They installed a new video Deleted now splash Video card in manager video no device screen past card and loaded drivers for it The on board video showed up in device manager and was deleted Somehow the new video card was also deleted in the device manager as well Now the PC will boot and you will see video until the windows splash screen then the monitor will go blank The PC is running as someone suggested using MS Narrator to hear the menus and try to get to device manager However he was unable to navigate to the device manager using this technique Using F and trying to boot into safe mode resulted in the same issues Trying forced VGA also the same Trying to use system restore to roll back to the previous setup also resulted in Deleted Video card in device manager now no video past splash screen the same outcome Can anybody suggest a good way to be able to get the video back up and running I personally have not looked at this PC to try a few things but will be looking at it tonight Anyone else run into this problem I would think windows would not allow all video to be deleted from device manager but I guess it has happened to many folks before The OS is XP Pro Any help is greatly appreciated nbsp
take out the new card and reboot. restart (whatever happens) and go into BIOS, check your onboard graphics is enabled, save and reboot. ...you were still using the onboard graphics by he way...tell me when you've done the above..
Hi guys, my cpu's (E8400 3.06ghz) quite hot wif idle temp of 44degC to loading of 60degC. Any recommendations for a cooler?
I have no preference and am very open to suggestions =D
-I dont care about noise. Performance is key.
-I dont have a gigantic case so i'm hoping for the normal size coolers.
-Try not to recommend something tat's more than $50.
Thanks for any recommendations xD
here is one for 50$ with a ten dollar mail in rebate.
I'm trying to get my SIXAXIS wireless controller to work with my laptop, but I am unable to find "Bluetooth radio" under my device manager. Is there a way to install these drivers? Or are they supposed to be native with windows?
I'm using Windows XP SP2.
You might be able to get it to work using a USB cable. Bluetooth drivers are not native to XP
I changed my font for everything on my pc to help me see better on a flat screen tv
but I've decided to change it back because on some games i play it effects the text and i cant see whats being said... I thought i knew how to do (go to display props., settings, advanced and change dpi) but i can't get it to work and i can't figure it out. if anyone can help me pls and thank you.
What operating system are you using? Sounds like XP. If so also notice on that window the compatibility setting. The DPI setting changes the size of all items displayed. If you are asking about font and size (for text) also see (control panel) Display Properties, Settings, Advanced. Also see Control Panel, Fonts.
sis processor to AGP controller in device manager in yellow eclaimation mark! internet wont open when i try update drive it says no new files found!! how i fix it its xp sp2
What is the brand and model of computer or motherboard.
It could be that your AGP video graphics card has either gone bad, or has lost the drivers.
A simple test is to cold boot to SAFE MODE. The default Microsoft VGA driver is used for display at 640 x 480 resolution and in 16 colors. You must log on in all modes by a domain or by the local Security Accounts Manager, depending on which Safe Boot mode you select., by pressing the <F8> key repeatedly once per second
1. Restart your computer and start pressing the F8 key on your keyboard. On a computer that is configured for booting to multiple operating systems, you can press the F8 key when the Boot Menu appears.
2. Select an option when the Windows Advanced Options menu appears, and then press ENTER.
3. When the Boot menu appears again, and the words "Safe Mode" appear in blue at the bottom, select the installation that you want to start, and then press ENTER.
Then, if it works in low resolution, go back and try again using this option as a test:
? Enable VGA Mode: This option starts Windows in 640 x 480 mode by using the current video driver (not Vga.sys). This mode is useful if the display is configured for a setting that the monitor cannot display.
or try this option
? Enable Boot Logging: This option turns on logging when the computer is started with any of the Safe Boot options except Last Known Good Configuration. The Boot Logging text is recorded in the Ntbtlog.txt file in the %SystemRoot% folder.
This is video shadows Is not Font, it the graphics monitor. card? my it's but create my first post I think I m in the right place-- I get shadows from any lines of font Font, graphics create shadows but it's not my monitor. Same problem here too
I have the same problem here too. Shadows that stretch acrossed the whole monitor horizontally. I bought a new monitor and hooked it up and it did the same thing, so I know it's not the monitor. I have an NVidia GeForce 2 graphics card and run XP. My computer is a 4 1/2 year old Dell Dimension 4100 with a 19" Dell monitor. (still a great computer!)
My colors went way off for a while - so bright they were fluorescent. I adjusted that as best as I could in the NVidia setting control panel. But the colors are still off when I look at the pictures I have on my computer. This just happened all of a sudden.
I have been doing searches on line for days now trying to find help with this. I don't want to do total hard drive wipe out if I don't have to. And if it's just the graphics card, I can replace that. I have wasted hours and hours trying to figure out what is wrong. I have downloaded drivers, changed settings, and done tons of reading. (my Dell Tech Support has run out for this computer so I'm on my own) I'm hoping you can help.
Thanks a bunch.
I have a new HP Pavillion a6400f and need dual monitor capability. I do not play games. I have one free pci exp x16 slot. Could anyone recommend a suitable card that would suit my needs?
So match the added card to the on-board video's chipset... example, if you have ATI graphics, go ATI PCI-e. If you have Nvidia, go Nvidia PCI-e. Just spend what is in your budget that's all there is to it
I have a sound blaster live! 24 bit sound card and it would be very helpful if someone could tell me or send me a link of the pin sets so that i can hook up my front sound.
You have to use the motherboard sound connectors to connect the front sound
So basically my Mic aint working...
This has something to do with the wonderful invention that is Realtek Sound Manager.
but I dont know what.. or how to fix it...
and it's driving my nuts.. this comp is like 3 months old, a bit early for it to start acting up...
Thr problem is that when I use the push to talk button in either counter strike source, teamspeak or messenger, it just relays my computer sound from the speakers threw the mic (or something like that) so instead of my jammering the other players only hear Game sound or themself.
This might be a software problem.. I seriously dont know..
Can anyone help me??
Don't double post.
so i cant get my sound to split through the rear speakers, and when i test my speakers on the audio manager only the front two respond!
any suggestions on how to fix the problem?
i'm using xp as well
what audio codec do you use?
is it onboard sound or a PCI sound card?
how many sound outputs do you have on your onboard or PCI sound card?
make & model, how many channel formats?
we need some more informations & specifications as well
Help, I accidently disabled my speakers in the audio manager. How do I enable them again
I've been having awful trouble setting up my network (well setting it up again) and have found that this 'service' is not running.
The full error I get when I right click->start is the following:
"Could not start the Remote Access Connection Manager service on local computer.
Error 1068: The dependency service or group failed to start."
Which suggests something else needs to be running and isn't but to the best of my knowledge everything that should be running is.
Just guessing here:
Go to Start>Run>services.msc>Ok.
Ensure "Remote Access Connection Manager" is started by right clicking on "Remote Access Connection Manager" and then "Properties". Next to "Startup Type:" if the service is "Disabled" set it to "Manual". Click "Apply" and then click "Start" to start the service.
Check the "Dependencies" tab to see what services depend on this one, as well as the ones that "Remote Access Connection Manager" depends on and set those to "Manual" as well.Click to expand...
By checking the dependencies tab I could see that RACM was dependent on telephony which wasn't running. Thank you!
Now to see if I can at last get t'internet back on my beloved PC!!
Aaaaannnd it doesn't. Sigh.
I got a new computer this Christmas and inside it is the RealTek HD audio manager as my sound, and currently when I am in vent or Battlefield 2, people can hear themselves AND my game over my mic even though I'm using a headset and speakers aren't even plugged in to my comp. There is another guy as well who has the same exact problem, is it just that realtek sucks or is there some sort of problem that can be solved? Please help if possible, thanks.
yes this is my problem 2
does any1 have any solutions
