Music Library And Mp3 Player

Q: Music Library And Mp3 Player

Music library and mp player Hi I know that If you rip an original CD track to MP kbps and then for whatever reason decide to compress that MP even further - say to that would result in some loss of quality But Building a music library I am ripping everything on and downloading on too But then with my future mp player having music on format that doesn t allow to store a lot in the player So thought I could compress a bit more and the quality yes the quality will be lower but then you want good quality you don t use a mp player but a normal stereo Am I right or wrong But then the And Music Player Library Mp3 days of cd are counted so we still need to put music on digital format for the future so what quality audio to use Stay with mp Or go with some other format Music Library And Mp3 Player like apple or wma from window media player Or some new recent one but may be not compatible with my new mp player and meaning I have to re-rip all my audio again Then technology will be there and there will be no need of compression And then the web will be access from everywhere and we wont Music Library And Mp3 Player have our own computer but subscribing monthly to some web site to use and listen the music and for every thing else So I am getting so confused and lost my question is what you do today and what do you recommend And about the future how are you going to keep up thanks

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/directdownload.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Here are my thoughts about this:No#1. Let today be today. If your music is .mp3, then keep it that way. Don't get tricked into the hype of what tomorrow may be like. You may not see tomorrow. Just keep doing as you're doing, and forget about the Jones'No#2. No one knows what tomorrow may bring, and since music isn't important as to being prepared for tomorrow, I wouldn't even think about it. If you need more room to store your files, then invest into another hard drive, and dedicate it to just your music.Your bitrate quality will really get disturbed if you went to a very low bitate, compared to it's original format/bitrate. And again, if your music sounds good to you, and you like it, leave it be. Don't go making projects out of things you really don't want to be wasting your time on. And yes, I know, the higher the bitrate, the larger the file size. It's your move now... so what are you going to do? I say just get more hard drive/storage space, and you'll nip it in the bud..wma formats, I always convert them to .mp3.Windows Media Player? If you're gonna use it (I see no reason why you would), just be aware that by default it is set to protect your music you rip using it. What that means is that your music is protected and it's virtually held hostage on your computer. Burning it from there won't work either. So, if you're going to use WMP, make sure you uncheck the Protect My Files checkbox. Even still, I'll never trust WMP with my music. Also, there is no reason to try to keep up with the ever growing of music softwares, just to listen to your music. If you use a program that plays your music, and it plays very well, then leave well enough alone. Alot of programs are designed to trick you, (like Windows Media Player), and they will DRM protect your music, and block you from transferring your music from your computer to disc, or where ever else you may want to put your music. Soon, you'll be posting here stating, your music all of a sudden doesn't play, you can't burn anything, your burner doesn't work, the programs you've used before all of a sudden don't work, you can play one file type, and not the other..... and the list goes on and on.Take this advice from someone that knows these computers and will inform you of what you should know about them. Trying to keep up with the Jones' and using the wrong softwares at the same time will get your computer slammed with problems.

I have downloaded movies from online, then burned them onto a dvd or cd.
I can play them back from the disc on my computer but when I load them into my CD/DVD Player to watch them on the TV...it says "Can Not Read Disc" or it just says "Disc Empty".

What am I doing wrong?

A:DVD Player can not read DVD or CD

The disk will likely need to be in DVD format before your DVD Player will play it. Are you using a media builder application to burn the disk?

You can't simply burn MP4/AVI to disk and have them play. Only players that have been optimized for them will play them. And speaking from experience, even when burning the correct format, the burns may give issues reading in the player. One player may recognize the disk while another will not.

Hey guys, I am going on holiday in early June and am looking for a way to listen to music while I'm in the pool as I plan to spend a lot of time doing so.
The way I can see it is that I have two options:

Buy a waterproof case and waterproof headphones
buy a waterproof MP3 player all-in-one.
Obviously each option has it's flaws - otherwise I wouldn't be there.
Even if I buy a waterproof case how can I be sure that even though there is a waterproof case, where it contacts with waterproof earphones will be waterproof as 'waterproof' to some sellers just means rain-proof.
The problem with the all in ones like the Sony Waterproof Walkman is that they are very expensive for very little space, the 4GB alone being 50 and 8GB is 80.

Does anyone have experience in the matter, anything they can recommend, preferably I'd like to use my phone in a case for my 32GB MicroSD card, but whatever works I guess.

Cheers guys.

Greetings. im newbie here help me to solve my problem.

my 5.1 DVD player is connected as audio out of my pc and its on stereo using RCA cable.

I want to experience surround sound. What should I do?
1.) Buy HDMI and plug it to DVD to PC videoCard? 2.) Buy sound card and toslink?

Thank you so much in advance =)

A:5.1 DVD player to PC

Soundcard that supports Dolby Digital Live, optical TOSLINK cable. That's IF your home theatre supports DDL decoding.

This will give you surroundn sound on games.

Hey guys, I've recently ordered a new PC and it should be here in a week. I'm a gamer and I like to write music and will finally be able to record with my new system. I'm just lacking a sound card. So basically I'm looking for a card that will be awesome for gaming and music. Any suggestions out there? I know I will need a PCI-E card. I'm looking to spend $150-200. Any help would be much appreciated

A:Sound card for gaming and making music

This is probably the best one out there: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16829132010

That is the best of both worlds. There is a better card for gaming, but the Essence above is much better for creating music and phenomenal for gaming.

Having dredged the internet, I came across this forum amongst the many with questions relating to cd drives working but dvd not etc, but my issue is slightly different, i think.

CDs seem to play ok, and so do DVDs, but I seem to have a problem with my laptop reading a disc with DS games on it that it used to read no problem. The discs can be used in my other half's laptop, so it is clearly a problem with my laptop.

I'd appreciate if anyone could advise where I can start to solve this problem

Hey everybody, I just purchased a Toshiba sdv398kc2 VCR/DVD combo player and hooked it up to my HD television through a simple composite connection (my television has no S-Video in). However, my tv has composite inputs and this dvd/vcr player has a composite out connection as well. As I understand it, this is not an HD DVD player and obviously not an HD VCR as those don't exist lol. So I was wondering if picking up a composite cable would be worth it? Do you think it will actually change the picture at all? I'd also need to switch my Xbox from composite to HDMI since there's only 1 composite input on my tv. Do you think it'd be worth buying $60 or so worth of cables?

Thanks

A:Component connection on VCR/DVD combination player

From my experience w/ setting my first DVD player, component cables (red, blue, green connections) produce better picture quality than composite (yellow connection). Haven't tried S-video, so can't comment on that. Looking over the manual for your player, DVD can output to either component or composite. The VCR can only output to composite.

I suppose you can have VCR on composite, DVD on component and XBOX on HDMI. Not sure how much cable you plan on buying, but $60 seems a lot. Take a look at Monoprice. I've bought DVI/HDMI and HDMI cables and HDMI switch from them in the past. Happy w/ my purchases.

Perhaps this should be posted in A&V not sure.
I have an empty drawer on my PC I thought I had 2 DVD/CD players. Like I had on my E-Machine,until I got it home Can I install a Blue Ray player in the empty drawer? Do
they even make Blue Ray players for PCs? Also would I have to buy some kind of HD monitor in order to get the full effects of the Blue Ray?
Enough questions for now. I might have more. Depending on the answers I get from this one Ray

A:Blu-ray player

There should be no problem installing a Blu-Ray drive in your PC, they are available in wide range of prices. Minimum resolution for HD is 1280x720; 1920x1080 will give you the benefit of Full HD although on smaller monitors 720p is sufficient. You'll also need Blu-Ray player software ... not sure what software is being shipped with the drives at this point. For what it's worth I've had good luck with LG drives.

I have an ION IO2 LP2 Flash Record Player, which enables customers to play records at 33 and 45 rpm via a hi-fi or a computer and transfer the records to a USB stick among other options.

I wish to play records via my computer, but I have a dilemma:

Although my records spin fine on the turntable, when I connect the USB lead to the back of my computer (I currently have Windows Vista if relevant), there is no sound.

What is preventing the sound?, and how do I achieve sound?

I'd thought that sound would be instant, once the lead was connected, but I am very keen to find a solution so I can make the most of my record deck and recording options.

Also, is Audacity easy to set up?
(there are 2 options - the eZ Player, which is good but has least Scratch Filter options, and Audacity)

I look forward to your feedback.

A:Ion LP2 flash record player - no sound

Seeking help

Can anyone assist me?

Thinking further, as I'm not a technical expert, is the cause of No Sound due to a setting in my Computer?

I imagine it's not a fault in the record player, but either way, I can't get any sound out of the record player.

If whatever's blocking the sound is in the computer, which settings do I need to look for to achieve sound?, and/or

Is it because I don't yet have Audacity set up that I'm getting no sound?

I'm very keen to use my record player.

Although record players will vary and I'm not sure if any of you have an ION record player, perhaps there are other record players where Sound has to be activated a specific way where some of you have had the same muted sound on your record players of a different brand or different model or ION.

Please help asap.

I recently reformatted my os because of a virus. Now DVD's won't fill up the screen when I go into the full screen mode. There is a bar at the top and bottom of the screen. It also does it when streaming video from the internet in full screen mode.

A:Windows Media Player 11 won't play fullscreen

I understand that you recently killed off your hard drive and re-installed an O.S. But after the O.S. installation was complete, did we make sure that all the required video drivers were installed as well? Also seeing that you posted that this is about Windows Media Player, did you also go to a couple web sites and snooped around for some (codec) packages? Also you might want to go into Windows video setting, via the (display) or (display icon) in your (control panel) and see what your video settings are and maybe make the required adjustments.

Just a thought..................good luck in your quest for the answer!

A:Choppy audio and video with VLC media player

This is almost certainly because of missing codecs to playback your files.
The correct ones were probably installed and worked before you formatted the pc, but they were deleted in the format.
There are several packs of codecs you can try to solve this, but one I have used with good results is at;
http://www.mediacodec.org/download/

also this one, but note it is 147MB to download;

You closing the session once complete? Sometimes I find some burning utilities set themselves as default to keep sessions open, so you can add more data later. It needs to be closed session before you can use it away from the computer.

Assuming everything is identical (as you've commented above) its the only thing I can think of.

Does the external drive have its own own power supply, or is it deriving its power from the USB connection?
It would be helpful to know more about the computer, operating system, and configuration.

Hi
I have just purchased a WD mini media player to play my movies on my HD TV.
I have a WD My Book 2T Hard drive and all my movies are AVI.
After setting it all up i have picture but no sound on any movie.
What am i doing wrong or what can i do to fix the problem?
thanks

A:No sound with WD mini media player

There are two WD's the WDTV and the WDTV Live. The Live version of the box can convert DTS sound on the fly but since your using avi that shouldn't be the problem. You have two ways to get the video and sound to your set. One is the HDMI and you need to have the high speed cord to get the best quality (10,000gb/s I believe). The others are Composite (yellow) and component (red/green/blue) for video and then you have to use the (Red/White) audio to get the sound into your TV. There is another option and thats HDMI to DVI and since DVI is just video (like a monitor) you have to use the (Red/White) stereo connectors to get audio to the tv.

What am i missing?

You need to install your audio drivers for the device in the computer. Normally, you would use your install disk, or download sound drivers for whatever is installed in your system.
You have not described your system and configuration so we cannot be of much help.

I'm thinking that without gaming ambitions, the new Intel core i3 CPUs might meet your needs with their integrated graphics. These give pretty decent scores in
the Windows Experience Index, something like 4.9 for Areo, and 5.3 for business and gaming graphics. To the best of my knowledge, the matching H55/ H57 Intel chipset motherboards provide Fire Wire input.

You should first subscribe to Newegg's Email list, so you can grab your parts as they become available on sale.

Here is Intel's list of socket LGA1156 CPUs available at Newegg; http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...=2010340343 50001157 1051749233&name=LGA 1156

And the matching integrated graphics H55/ H57 boards in the Gigabyte brand; http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...01314 1070549182 107173338&name=Intel H55/H57 Be sure to pick one with 4 memory sockets. (4 out or 5 do). I have this one; http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128421

Please pay no attention to the bad reviews for this product, they were all written by imbeciles claiming, "high technical ability". I don't know squat about computers, and I had one of these systems up and running perfectly, with Windows 7 installed, in about 3 hours.

In fact, I'm hoping Newegg will offer "don't know squat" as a technical ability claim option. That way, I'll be able to check, "don't know squat", and report, "it works perfectly for me, 5 stars"!

Here is a test report done on a few of these boards at Techspot; http://www.techspot.com/review/259-intel-h55-motherboard-shootout/

I am using power Producer 3.0 to make movie DVDs for the kids.

The movie down load is available in several formats ? avi, mpeg, mp4 etc.

The mp4 files are considerably smaller than the mpeg files.

Power Producer converts the mpeg/mp4 to vob files.

Is the vob quality about the same, whether I use a mpeg or mp4 ?

Thanks.

A:Need help making a movie DVD for DVD player

I would say yes, but the video quality would depend more on your hardware than the video format. You need to keep up with Windows Updates too. If you are still running XP Service Pack 2, update XP to Service Pack 3 and download and install all the other related Windows Updates available

Sorry if I am posting this in the wrong spot, but I need some help with this problem.

Earlier today I bought a dvd and a dvd box set. Everything about them is almost identical other than a) the content and b) one has a dub set of options (they are both anime dvds). The thing is my computer is more than happy to play the solo dvd but I've tried two of my dvds from the set and my computer is refusing to play them. As I said they are almost identical both are region 1, both are NTSCs, both have are 1.33:1 full screen, both are dvd videos, and both are dolby digitals. I have never had this problem with my dvds before.\

Edit: I meant to say computer dvd player, been a long day. My laptop has a Windows 7 operating system just for clarification.

You don't have the right codecs. I suggest just downloading VLC. It's better than WMP for video playback, even with the right codecs.

Every media format in ANY player crashing! no issues at all I was thinking is it corrupt media files But why would the media that is streamed online crash too if that was the problem I have installed new codecs Uninstalled several of the media players and reinstalled them Tried several other things even disabling the soundcard at one point to see if that was the issue but the video would still crash I am at a complete loss as to what could have happened S My PC is pretty old now so i am wondering could there be some major errors within the core of Windows which i cannot reinstall because i was never given a disk with the PC in the first place just with Windows installed on it before i had the PC I am using a copy of Windows XP AMD Athlon XP GHz GB of RAM Soundcard Creative SoundBlaster Live Value sheesh ancient i know GFX Card ATI Radeon X Series Secondary Each time anything crashes i rarely get an error report send option unless it is a web browser but like i say nothing ever comes of these reports YouTube or iPlayer are the worst offenders but everything else will pretty much crash consistently and at random points in the file not at a specific time or place Could PC overheating be a problem Do either GFX or Audio cards get too hot and have to cut out to stop from breaking I wanted to say also that if i am using any webpage and not streaming media then the browser never crashes It is only ever when media is streaming from a website Same goes for my PC tho i do recall my PC sometimes restarts for no apparent reason tho that is quite a rare occurrence But could that be due to overheating issues Any help would be so wonderful if you can Thankyou nbsp

A:How come some background music of games sound different?

try updating your sound drivers first, then you might want to look into past problems others might have had with this games sound. Since this happened to both your computers at the same time it sounds like the problem is the game.

A simple test to see if your speakers are broke is just...play music on them. Does it sound fine? yes? then it's not your speakers

unfortunatly without knowing what game it is that you are talking about I can't really look into any problems others have had with it.

I use win xp pro, and I just installed Windows Media Player, but why the player stop playing in full-screen mode? It's ok minutes ago. I know this question is kind of stupid, any one knows how to fix it.

A:Why does the Player stop playing in full-screen mode?

It is a feature of Windows Media Player, not a fault
It will automatically pause when manually selecting "Full Screen" (I suspect just to allow you to get ready)
You then need to press "Play" to play it again

Can I also suggest that you try another Media Player > Free VLC Media Player
It does an excellent job at playing most movies (anyway, much more than WMP) And is very easy to use, and I use it

I am running XP/Win7 on my AMD 64 Athlon 3400+ powered Pavillion. I've tried different speakers, headphones, etc., but reagrdless of the hardware I use, I still get the same problem. It sounds as if the music is being paused and then played very quickly throughout the song. I don't really notice it in Windows sound effects, but that may be because they are short in length. I notice this happening on both XP and Windows 7 and don't know why.

Please help!!!

A:Music Playback is Choppy

Try updating your audio and chipset driver. There could also be a program running in the background taking up to much memory or CPU cycles. If you listen to music alot you should get a dedicated sound card. You can get a really good Audigy on Ebay for under $15. Onboard audio is notoriously troublesome. Too many other things in the system can interfere with it.

Hi, I've got a rather simple question, but I still want to know it:

Can a regular (pc) dvd player read/play dvd-dual layer's?

The dvd in question is home-made, if it matters

Well, that's about it..
Thanks in advance,
Marty

A:DVD Dual Layer in regular DVD player?

I would say no... But a dual-layer DVD player will read single-layer DVD's

Hey guys

I got a couple of Philips DVD/Divx players one is new and other is a slightly old model. both of them have USB interface also.
So when I connect my flash drive to watch movies from it, it works perfecto!
But when i connect my WD 400GB(WDML4000TN) external, the player says "device not supported".
I was reading somewhere that my hard drive needs to formatted like a USB flash drive maybe then it will work? If so then how should I format it? and what allocation unit size?

Or is there any other way to do this?

Please help me out here, Thanks alot!

For whatever reason nothing will buffer here at home (youtube, myspace, etc) after a few seconds. It'll start out working fine and then just stop buffering.

We have a wireless network here so we can share a printer. I've tried all the computers in the house (Vista, XP), multiple browsers (Firefox, Explorer, Chrome), disabling the firewall, and clearing browser data. Nothing has helped. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I have an IBM ThinkPad that has a cdrw/dvd drive. When I use the cdrw/dvd drive for dvds, I get a "0 not found" error message. The dvd does start to run on windows media player (and Interactual DVD player when I try it), but the error message pops up and stops the player. The movie is still showing behind the message box and will resume when I click on the OK in the message box, but just seconds later the error message comes back and stops the movie again. As long as the OK is clicked the movie will play and sound is present.

I can use the cd player without any error messages, but the dvd player always brings up the error message.

Any ideas as to what is going on ????

Thanks,

A:Flash Player 10 Problems

Hi,
Maybe this will help you.

You must have administrator privileges to successfully complete these instructions.

Follow the instructions to download the SubInACL tool from the Microsoft Download Center.
Install SubInACL.
Download the reset_fp10.zip file.
Extract the reset_fp10.cmd file to C:\Program Files\Windows Resource Kits\Tools\.

Important: Be sure that both the subinacl.exe and reset_fp10.cmd files are in the same location here: C:\Program Files\Windows Resource Kits\Tools\.

Double-click reset_fp10.cmd.
This will open a command window and execute the SubInACL tool.
Do not use the machine while SubInACL is running.
When it is finished you will see "Press any key to continue".
Install the Flash Player from www.adobe.com/go/getflashplayer.

Hello all,

I would like to buy the Philips PET1031 portable DVD player (10.2 inch screen) to use in our car. Additionally I would like to have a second screen hooked up to it.

The problem is, I can not find a DVD player or digital picture frame that has an AV IN, S-VIDEO IN, or COMP IN connection to connect it to.

I have seen that Philips do a 7 inch player with 2 screens, but I would really love to get this 10 inch one as it has a SD card reader and it just looks fantastic.

Has anybody got a suggestion as how I would be able to connect a second screen to this player?

Many thanks,

Bbow

A:Second screen for portable DVD player?

UPDATE:

Ok, found various players that have an AV-IN connection so theoretically if I route a cable from the AV OUT from the main player and feed that into the AV-IN port of the second player it should work as a second display, or not?

Anybody got any experience with this?

when WMP plays a movie, at the bottom, just below the screen. is a little arrow that tracks along as the movie progresses. Well not all my movies have that arrow, or at least it doesn't move. if you click on it, the movie starts all over again. now this was not always the case. everything was fine until i took my computer to the shop to get it debugged (whatever that is). now on some of the movies/clips the arrow moves and on some it doesn't.

Or are we talking about an external optical drive?
Do you have more than one drive? Is the drive jumpered to Master, Slave, or Cable Select?

I just finished installing Vista Ultimate 64-bit edition on my computer. The Mobo installation CD came with Realtek audio drivers. When I look at Device Manager for my sound I see that the following audio drivers are installed...Realtek High Definition Audio version 6.0.1.5391.

So now I want to download a music media player so I decide that since I have Realtek audio drivers I'll try and keep things simple by using a Realtek media player.

I do a search and it directs me to the Techspot site. I download Realtek Player version 4.05.

But when I install I get the following Information message that pops up...

"Only Rack is Supported in this driver Package" and then the installation process shuts down.

The top line on the window says Realtek AC'97 Audio Setup (5.36) A4.05

Am I doing something wrong here? Thanks to all for the help and feedback.

Whenever I have inserted a cd in a drive and selected explore, I have been able to see the file type. I bought a cd, karaoke style -- for all practical purposes here -- and when I inserted the CD I only found pdf files which hold the sheet music. I always make a copy of these cds in case one becomes damaged. On two computers I was completely surprised that I could see nothing except the PDF files. Is there a way to see the music files?

A:Music files

Purhaps you did not buy a CD with music on it. It may be a karaoke cd that gives you sheet music to some popular songs to let them play and sing it yourself (thus the karaoke).

I cant think of anything else because if thats ALL thats on the disk then the obove situation is accurate in my opinion

Hi I would like to consult with some keen audiofiles out there who are more abreast with sound technology than I am Being an ex musician I listen to a lot of music and more importantly have as substitute Laptop conventional for cd PC player a lot of cd s that lie around the house and that are constantly in the way As space is a problem where I live I was thinking if only there was a way to use a laptop pc without compromising sound quality very important to store all Laptop PC as substitute for conventional cd player my music on and use it instead of the bulky cd player to play it out into my Laptop PC as substitute for conventional cd player existing system It would also be advantageous in the fact that you would have your entire collection at your fingertips The ideal would be a soundcard that is at least equal to or better in reproducing audio cd s in the CDDA format than a conventional cd player and being able to plug an analogue Left Ch and Right Ch out from it into my power amp Are there any solutions on the market that would work in this context Thanks to all nbsp

A:Laptop PC as substitute for conventional cd player

So... are you looking for a laptop with a good onboard sound? Most newer laptops have pretty decent audio quality. Just get a nice pair of speakers and then rip your CD's to the hard drive using Nero software or something similar. For playback, I would recommend using WinAMP so that you can play various audio formats, add track info, and compile playlists within your collection. There are other audio players, but WinAMP is one of the best imo.

A:Windows Media Player 10 File sharing

The point of Windows Media Sharing is not to be some sort of P2P application, but rather like a radio station that you can tune into specific tracks. If you don't already own the music you're trying to burn then it's really not a legal practice you're getting into.

I have encountered a problem when I have tried to burn music to cd r. The drive will play music ok- so no problem there. However when I try to burn some tracks it will only record about 10 seconds. I will then get an error message saying that my cd is dirty or may be recording at wrong speed. Have tried other speeds without any success also tried downloading latest version of window media and closed all other applications that may have caused even a remote problem. Can anyone help or have any suggestions how to fix this problem?

A:Can't Burn music to cd

Is this a laptop or a desktop computer.
It seems as if your CD drive is worn out of alignment. Either the read laser or the write laser is out of whack or it is just worn out. How old is the drive?
Burners last about a year, on average... less, if used a lot. It is easier and cheaper to replace them, than to fix them.
If you are in a dusty climate, you can remove the bottom from the burner, and use Dust Off or other canned air with difluoroethane gas to clean the unit. Do not touch the laser... just blow dust out of the drive.
There are some utilities that will reset the burner on some models. Do a Gurgle search for your brand and model.

Does anyone know how to remove a partition from a Flash Memory Player? More importantly, does anyone know of any freeware that perform this task?

A:Removing partition from a Flash Memory Player

What's the model number and size of this "flash player"?

I can't remember the last time I was able to playback audio cd's (store bought) but I am sure I was able to at one time. I'll insert a cd into the drive at the autoplay box does popup saying it is an audio cd, so the drive WILL recognize the disc. However upon attempting to playback or rip, the drive will endlessly try to read the disc, freezing whichever program I'm using to playback/rip. The hard disc action light is also at full blast while this is happening. I have tried several cds and programs to no avail.

A:TssTcorp CD/DVD SH-182D drive will not playback music cd's

The Drive itself requires replacing
You can also purchase cleaning discs to clean the laser, but the money is usually best spent on a new DVD R/W drive
