Q: Missing Email Accounts Option In Outlook 2000

I'm using Windows XP Home and Outlook 2000.

I cannot see the 'Email Accounts' option under the Tools menu.

I have Administrator rights and can see the Email Accounts via Control Panel ==> Mail ==> Services ==> Properties, but not via the Tools menu.

Can anyone help please.

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Using Outlook 2000 with multiple POP mail accounts, on one machine when I did this I had a little drop down next to the send button that allowed me to choose which account to send a new email message from.

On a different machine (still Outlook 2000) the second account was set up but there is no choice and it sends through the default account only, does anyone know how to fix this !

I have tried looking in the file menu but it only has "send" but it should have "send using" as well.

driving me crazy !

A:Outlook 2000 - multiple accounts but no "send to" option!

Hmmm, if you have the multiple accounts set up properly, then you should be able to have the little drop down arrow on the send button to select which account to send from, but . . . .
right-click the toolbar int he opened mail and select Customize. In the Customize window, click on Commands tab, File in the left pane and scroll down in the right pane tioll you see Send Using. Click and drag that to where you want the button to appear on the toolbar and let go of the mouse button.

Click Close.

Now you can click that button to select which account to send with.

If the 2 accounts do not appear, then you do not have them both setup correctly.

In Outlook 2007, click File > Import and Export > Make the appropriate choices

Hola everyone,

My name is Marcos and I'm writing from Argentina.

I'm using Outlook 2000 and I'm trying to configure two new e-mail accounts.

I could add the two accounts but all new messages come into one Inbox folder.

Does anybody know how to make each account have its own folders and its own identity?

Thanks a lot for your help!

A:Outlook 2000 - new e-mail accounts

Outlook doesn't support seperate identities but you can set up seperate folders for each account and then use Mail Rules to tell Outlook how to sort the messages as they come in.

To set up a new folder, right click on either "Personal Folders" or "Inbox," depending on where you want the new folders to be, choose "New Folder" and type a name of the folder created.

Then create the new accounts.

Once you have the folders set up, go to Tools>Rules Wizard. Set up a new rule for each account:
1. First window, select "Check messages when they arrive"
2. Second window, top pane, check "when received through the specified account"; bottom pane, click on the word "specified" and enter the name of the account
3. Third window, top pane, check "move it to the specified folder"; bottom pane click on the word "specified" and point it at the new folder you made for that account.
4. Fourth window, if none apply, don't check any of them
5. Fifth window, be sure that "turn on this rule" is checked and "run this rule now" is checked if you want Outlook to sort the messages you already have.

I use Office 2000 (with Windows 2000), and have it pulling in mail from two different internet accounts. I would like to choose which account I _send_ from. I know I have done it with Office XP, but I cannot upgrade my OS. In the Office 2000 help, it lists a couple options (a couple places where there should be a "Send Using" option, depending on what I am using to edit messages) however there is no Send Using option when I look in those places. Someone else told me there's a service pack that will fix the problem, but I've installed all available updates, and no luck.

I don't think either will push subfolders down to your Outlook client. You can, however, just create some folders and set up the Rules Wizard to move them upon arrival.

Hi Adina and Welcome to TSF,

As well at the moment I have one account going through outlook but I can`t sent emails from there. What settings are required to sent emails out?

I don't know if this is exactly what you need to accomplish.
Here's my recommendation:
Is your email hosted via Exchange or POP3? You may setup both if you wish in your Outlook.

From each computer and each User (with unique Email Account) you will need to setup all 4 Email Accounts including Public (Yahoo, Hotmail etc.), you may do so. For each one you will need the proper POP3 and SMTP Server. Here's a list of different Providers.

My wife for some reason decided to install Outlook 2000 when it was already installed and then killed it. The problem is that I have an older machine that belongs to the company I work for and I was given it "as is" with no installation disks.

I have been able to get Outlook started but I need to find where on my hard drive my account settings would be if the install process did not delete them. I need to set up my email accounts and I can't remember all of the config settings to get my email.

Does anyone know where Microsoft hides these settings? I would like to somehow import them or open them in notepad and enter the info again so I can get email.

Any help would be appreciated.

In Outlook 2007 I've setup an email account(email1). I then went into mail settings and added an additional mailbox(email2). I have two problems though.

1. When I want to sent an email from email2 it is actually sent from email1 on behalf of email2. Is it possible to just switch between the two?

2. When I send an email from either email address the message is put into a general sent items folder. Is it possible to put it into the sent items folder of the particular mailbox it was sent from?

A:Configure Multiple email accounts in outlook XP???

Have you tried to use a filter for each account? In Outlook these are called *Rules*. Go to Tools then click on Rules Wizard. These are easy to set up and will work as long as you're not using a http email account such as hotmail. As for adding folders to the Outlook bar... create the folder you want to use in your 'personal folders list'. Then just drag it on to Outlook bar to create a shortcut. Hope this will do what you need. Later

I've never chosen the 'use existing .pst file' when setting them up on my existing computers.

Are there any advantages to doing so other than just having one .pst file to backup and manage. That is enough for me to do it if it can be done.

A:Solved: Trying to get 2 email accounts working well together in Outlook 2007

David --

I just changed computers, and after years on Outlook Express, made the move to Outlook. In Outlook, I have 3 different email addresses (all POP accounts) set up under the same profile, but each account has its own .PST, and mail for each one goes to its own inbox. I can also choose which email address any new mail is sent from.

You completed the first half of the trick to having different inboxes for different email addresses by setting up unique .PSTs. However, you also have to then associate each email address with the .PST you created for it. To do this:

1) Go to Tools> Account Settings.

2) You should be on the email tab, and you should see a list of your email accounts. Click on the email account whose inbox you want to change. At the bottom of the window, it should show the path where the mail for that address is currently being delivered to. (From your email, it sounds like both addresses are going to the "Personal Folders\Inbox" destination.)

3) Click on the "Change Folder" button at the bottom left of the window. This should take you to the list of .PST files you already created.

4) Click on the .PST file that you want that email address to be associated with.

That's it!

Just make sure that when you created your separate .PST files, that you did it using the "New Outlook Data File" option, and not just the "New Folder" option. You will only get the additional inbox/outbox/sent items/deleted items folders if you make a new Outlook data file.

Hope that helps!!

Just installed MS Outlook 2010. I set up my 3 email accounts. Now I have a separate Inbox for each of my 3 accounts....AND one for an account called Outlook.

Why does MS have to make this sooooo complicated. On my older verson of Outlook, all my email came into the same Inbox.

I don't mind if there is a separate Inbox, Sent, etc, for each account...but what the heck is the other "Outlook" account for.

A:Solved: Outlook 2010 with Multiple Email Accounts

Go to accounts (file->Account Settings) and look at your list of accounts. The 'Outlook' account may just be one you inadvertently added as the default account name. Check the settings of that account and see if you need it. Delete it if you don't.

Also, if you haven't already noticed, the email account you send from depends on what inbox is highlighted. I had to break old habits with 2010 to keep from sending mail out through the wrong account.

A:Exporting/Importing of Outlook 2010 Email Accounts Issues

Hey mate,

Here is one way of doing it -
Did you 'include subfolders' when you imported your mail?
1. If yes:
You could possibly go into each folder (ie sent, inbox, deleted folders) and press Ctrl+A. This selects all your mail. When you do this for the inbox, hold down Ctrl afterwards, and then deselect any recent mail you've been sent. Then, delete it all, minus the mail you deselected in order to keep. Then import your mail once again from the file, and do not import duplicates.
2. If no:
You could possibly go into the imported folder (ie sent, inbox, or deleted folder) and press Ctrl+A. This selects all your mail. If you do this for the inbox, hold down Ctrl afterwards, and then deselect any recent mail you've been sent. Then, delete it all, minus the mail you deselected in order to keep. Then import your mail once again from the file, and do not import duplicates.

I'm not thinking of another way right at the moment. Keep in mind, you can start again and import stuff you seem to be missing. Use this tutorial: Import Outlook items from an Outlook Data File (.pst) - Outlook - - you'd select not to import duplicates, and the subfolders should be imported if you check the box to include subfolders.

Outlook 2013 with 3-4 different email accounts with data file. How can I have 2 of them deliver the new emails to the data file? I've looked through some internet posts and I can not find "change folder" in the email account in account settings. I'm not sure if this is the correct way and if it's a good idea to have the new emails delivered to the data file.

I have a private domain email address that is linked to my hotmail account, so both emails to both addresses are recieved in the same inbox - but i want the private domain to be what is viewed as the 'from adress' through outlook?

when i use outlook the 'from' address is my hotmail one.

and when i use hotmail the 'from' address is from my 'private domain' on behalf of 'hotmail address'

I want the private domain set up in outlook, but cant find the options to have that, and link it to the already set up hotmail account.

Hello Everyone,

I am setting up my email accounts in Outlook 2016. I always do a manual setup and on my email accounts, I use Exchange ActiveSync.

My questions are this.

What is this new option of selecting Office 365 and when would I use this option? When I did select the Office 365 option and pressed next my outlook would crash, any fix? What is the best selection to choose from when setting up my account that would be great for automatically syncing with my calendar etc. on or apple etc.?

Thank you very much for any help and assistance.

A:Outlook 2016 Manual Email Account Setup, Office 365 option? & Crashes

Manual setup for accounts is absolutely unnecessary, Outlook 2016 does that automatically in a few seconds.

That being said, if you insist in doing it manually the correct option is Exchange ActiveSync. Office 365 option is for so called workplace email accounts, Azure AD / Office 365 for Business or Enterprise users. You select that option only if your organisation uses Office 365 and you want to set up your workplace email in Outlook 2016.

What I want to do is change the order of the contact lists in this drop down menu, so I can put the list I use most in the first position instead of having to always choose it from the drop down menu. I use MS Outlook 2000 on a Windows XP computer. Just recently my e-mails appear to have gotten stuck in the Outbox. When I look at the messages in the Outbox the messages are bold but not italicized so it doesn't look like it will send. I open the message and click send but nothing happens.

When I check my Sent Items to see if it has actually sent I will see the message duplicated hundreds if not thousands of times. The recipients will receive the message but mostly just once, some have reported getting it three times. Does this sound familiar to anyone?

I just did a MS Office update download as well as a Spyware Removal software update but neither seems to have done the trick. Does it sound like I need to create a new PST file and move items over from my old one?

I have done quite a few office 2000 business addition installations, but this one has me stumped. For some reason even after email addresses have been put in to the TO or CC fields and sent, when starting to retype those same names they are not auto populating. Any ideas?

A:Outlook 2000 email addresses

My first thought is the Outlook.nk2 file. If it doesn't exist, i don't know if it will recreate itself or not. I do know that this is the file where outlook saves the auto complete addresses, and the path to the file should be:

C:\Documents and Settings\user\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook

But, before messing with that i would look through the outlook email options. In outlook 2003 go to tools, options .... on the preferences tab click "email options", in the email options window click "advanced email options", and then there is the option to "suggest names while completing To, CC and BCC fields" . So you'll want to find the similar option in outlook 2000. if this option is turned off, turning it on may force the creation of the outlook.nk2 file. if not you should be able to create it yourself or copy it from another system or user profile. hope that helps, as i don't have a system running outlook 2000 available to test it on.

For no reason I can think of, when I open an email in the inbox folder in outlook 2000 and then close it, it disappears. It is not in the deleted items folder, spam folder or any other. If you're getting a McAfee message, I'd be inclined to think that it's a McAfee issue. The "Authentication" required may be a setting you need to change in McAfee.

check in file, page setup, define print styles. depending on which style you are using (either table or memo) go to edit and then switch to the "paper" tab. see what is chosen there... you can also reset to defaults from there if infact your settings are off... i don't know if you already tried this but if not it's worth a shot.

A:Outlook 2000 SR-1: Problem with Contacts in Email

Hi lawyermom
Welcome to Tech Support Guy Forums!

Do you have more than one Contacts folder in Outlook?

Open the Address Book in Outlook, are there folders or groups listed under Contacts?
If so, look in each to see if the missing Contacts appear.
If Contacts appear in other folders, you can Copy them to the main folder.

When using the To: button, you can also click the drop down arrow and switch to the other folders (if they exist) to select those Contacts.

Let us know what you find.

Any way to configure my searching to be more precise in sent or received emails? Outlook 2000 won't let me set the date range I want to search nor let me select the fields I want to search. If you're just looking for the word "popcorn" in the body of the e-mail. Outlook can do that.
Click Find on the toolbar, then under Options click Advanced Find.
On the Message tab sheet, type popcorn in "Search for word(s):"
For the "In" drop down menu box, change it to "subject field and message body", then click on Find Now.

Outlook can also search in date range. Let me know if you still can't find the word popcorn.

A:Repeated Read receipts for an old email in Outlook 2000

Hi satish.kallem
Welcome to Tech Support Guy Forums!

Is the user using an .ost file or a .pst file?
If it is a .pst file, create a second .pst file and make it the Default Delivery Location.
Close and restart Outlook 2000 for the changes to take effect.

Then Right click and Close the original .pst file.
Close and restart Outlook 2000. Does the repeated read receipt stop?

If so, reconnect the original .pst file to Outlook 2000:
File > Open > Personal Folders File (.pst)
Browse to the location of the .pst file and select it.
The original Personal Folders should then appear in Outlook 2000.

Change the Default Delivery Location back to the original .pst file, if desired.
Close and restart Outlook 2000 for the changes to take effect.
Let us know if that works for you or not.

when i send e-mail in Outlook 2000 and select the names of the people i want to email. I just get...yourname (email) the TO bar...I was wondering how to display the name and email address all at once. Similar to the way AOL does Please help me!!!!

A:Display email address in outlook 2000 instead of just names when sending

Unless you're using your company's global address list, you must have saved the e-mail addresses yourself (either in your personal address book or in Contacts).

If so, the name is just a short identifier for that e-mail address. You can change the names to include the e-mail address by editing it the name:

In Contacts, right-click the contact, click Open.
Change the Full Name line to read:

Contact Name: E-mail address
e.g. John Smith: [email protected]
In the File As line, make sure it says the same as above.
Click Save and Close.

Alternatively, use:
File, Address Book, double-click the addressee, click the Name tab.
Add the e-mail address to the end of the surname and make sure it appears the same in the Display line.

If you're using a global address list, I'm not sure how you'd change it, maybe someone else can jump in and help you?

I have Vista as my OS and I use IE and Outlook 2000.
Whenever I click an email link in IE, Windows Mail opens.
When I try to set Outlook 2000 as the default email client from Internet Explorer I get a 'Set your default programs' dialog box which does not list Outlook 2000. Any thoughts ?

Fail to receive selected emails in Outlook 2010 on Win7 platform that I'm able to receive in Outlook Express 6 on XP platform.

Even more baffling, if I forward the email I was able to receive in Outlook Express, I'm then able to receive the email in Outlook 2010.

Situation I have a domain email 2000 - using automatically on used. contact specific send Outlook account based let s Outlook 2000 - automatically send email using specific account based on contact used. call it mydomain com and a whole bunch of domain email aliases eg email protected email protected etc that all forward to my ISP pop email address account default account I currently have rules setup so that emails sent to certain aliases at mydomain com which all come into my IPS email account go to their associated folders setup in Outlook eg email protected goes to the quot Jim quot folder email protected goes to the quot Mike quot folder etc etc I also have a LAN email account setup in this copy of Outlook although it s not set Outlook 2000 - automatically send email using specific account based on contact used. as my default Emails on my LAN account use a virtual domain name to send within the network let s call it mylanaccount com Rather than have the emails go to folders on my computer I d rather they be forwarded on to the relevant address on our LAN eg emails that came in from email protected would be forwarded to email protected Of course because mylanaccount com is a virtual domain that doesn t exist in the big wide internet these emails need to be forwarded on using the LAN account not my default ISP pop email account Queries Ideally I d like to setup a rule with something like Check messages when they arrive Sent to people or distribution list quot Forward it to people or distribution list using the specified account quot Of course this last option does not exist You can only choose to quot Forward it to people or distribution list quot There s no option to specify the account a Are there any add-ons for Outlook that let you do this b Does this rule exist in later versions of Outlook otherwise Using Outlook is it possible to make it so that specific contacts have a specific account used when sending emails to them a If not are there any add-ons that can do this b Is this possible in newer versions of Outlook I ve looked around but the closest relevant thread I could find was this one t ---link had to be removed sorry--- Any help is very much appreciated Cheers Chris nbsp

1b. & 2b.: Doesn't look that way here in Outlook 2003. Have you thought about spending $7 to 9/month per person and get an Exchange Server hosting account?

The Troubleshoot icon that should be under the 'Advanced Startup' Option is missing. System is a new Dell Latitude 10 ST2 Tablet running Windows 8. Have access to 9 other identical tablets, all configured the same and they all have the Troubleshoot Option. Have tried multiple methods of getting to "Advanced Startup" display (including Safe mode, 'shutdown /r /o', etc.), but all result in only having the 'Continue', 'Use a Device', and 'Turn Off your PC' options - No Troubleshoot. Other than missing this icon, system is working fine. Shy of wiping the disk and starting over, any suggestions? Thanks!

I have a Dell Inspiron 1720 with Windows Vista I am trying to do a factory image but the repair your computer is missing from the F8 advanced boot options menu.
Can anyone tell me how to get this back on the list Thanks in advance

A:advanced boot option menu missing option

if your just trying to do a "factory reset" try powering on then press the ctrl key and the f11 key at the same time (at the dell logo), should get you a pc restore screen, follow the instructions...good luckps, if you have a manual, the key configuration may be different...

I have a copy of outlook 2002 running on Windows 98SE which when you try to insert an attachment into a new message you can't because the option "insert as link" is missing from the drop down menu in bottom right hand corner of the insert box.

This problem existed with outlook 2000 as well, I upgraded in the hope it would fix it but it hasn't. Has anyone else seen this or knows how to fix.

Manny Thanks,

Windows Outlook Express 6.0--incoming email text is blank. Did some searching and found a partial solution> regsvr32 inetcomm.dll. This works find overnight, but the same problem returns the next day.

I am running Windows XP Sp2 Pentium 4 Compaq. I have also scanned for malware, etc, using Pest Patrol 5.0, Giant AntiSpyware, and GoldWare with 0 results. Virus scans through Kasperksy, Norton and McAfee Stinger have also found no virus.

What can I do next since it seems to also be affecting MS Outlook as well.

Thanks, :bounce: :bounce:
