Preferred Solution: Can Receive Email In Outlook But Cant Send Email.

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/directdownload.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Outlook stopped receiving email on 30 Apr. I tried to uninstall MS Office as suggested by HP, but get an error: Can't access network location of %APPDATA%.
I have an HP Pavilion dv9000 laptop with Windows Vista x64 and MS Office 2007 Outlook. I've spent hours w/ HP and AT&T tech support, but can't resolve the problems (Email & %APPDATA%). HP wants me first to restore my laptop to its originally shipped configuration (I'd prefer not to if I can) and AT&T wants $99 for advanced support. So, I came here for help.

Yesterday morning, Outlook 2007 simply stopped sending/receiving email. Send/receive status simply hangs, showing some variation of "receving message X of X (X.XX KB of XYZ KB). When I cancel, the send/receive function doesn't work. I shutdown and restart, same scenario. I've removed and added Outlook to no avail. I am running it on Windows 7. Appreciate any help you might offer.

I'm trying to set up my msn.com email addresses in outlook 2007. (Ironically they set up fine in Entourage.) I don't want to use the connector program, as it receives mail in a separate folder, and I'd rather keep my email together in one inbox. I've set the proper settings for both receiving and sending, but I can neither send nor receive. Any ideas? Thanks very much.

I am unable to receive messages in Outlook 2007. I can send without issue, but I cannot receive across a variety of email addresses with various port settings. Outlook was working without any issues until a few days ago and there were not any updates or installations that can be linked to this issue. I have tried removing the antivirus software entirely and I have disabled the firewall but still can’t receive messages. I do however receive emails on my blackberry from all email accounts. I have verified settings with my domain hosting company. When clicking on the “Test Account Settings” button on the “Internet E-mail Settings” page Outlook does not detect any issues however the test email is only received on the blackberry and not in Outlook. Outlook also does not show any errors when attempting to send and receive emails. Thanks for your help on this baffling problem.

Hi All!

I'm having some trouble with Outlook 2003, for some reason I am not able to compose a new email and send it successfully, I can only send them if I reply to an email that I have already received.

I've tested to see if it might be isolated to external domains, but I can't send to anyone on my network either. All emails come up undeliverable or it say objet cannot be found. Any ideas why this may be happening?

I use Outlook 2010 to process several email accounts. I noticed a few days ago that a couple of the email accounts had vanished from the list. I also noticed that one still present was not sending or receiving. I tried re-entering the password and when that didn't work I deleted and re-entered the account. It tests fine but the test message never shows up in my Outlook inbox. It does show up immediately on my phone when I check my mail there.

What gives?

Hi all,

I am using outlook 2010, windows 8 on an Asus UX32A latop. I have an intermittent problem in that, when I go abroad, from some wireless networks (hotels or otherwise) I can send emails and others (increasingly more often), I cant. I have searched the web and this seems to be a common problem with port 25  (outgoing server - SMTP)  blocking being frequently identified as the culprit. However, I have tried a number of alternative ports to 25, but thus far to no avail.

If anyone out there has any ideas I would greatly appreciate them!

Cheers,

Susie

A:Outlook 2010, can receive but not send email abroad - intermittent problem

You would have to check with your email service provider to see if they have alternative mail servers and alternative ports available. If their mail servers are configured to use only port 25, then check to see if you can access your email using a web browser, as ports 80 and 443 are almost never blocked. It's not as convenient as Outlook, but at least it will work.

Hi guys,
I would like to be able to move an email to a sub folder of my mailbox and get Outlook to send an email to the sender of the email I moved into it. Hope that makes sense.

I found this archived thread http://forums.techguy.org/business-applications/439567-outlook-reply-email-when-mail.html which has proved very helpful and I've managed to get it working for me.

I would like it to send more than just a one line email reply but I don't know how, maybe get it to use a text file for the body of the email?

Any help would be great

More times than none the problem is at the mail server.
Go to the Cox website and send from your email account that they have online. If they dont have one you may have to wait. This happens to everyone.

If its time senstive
Open an account with Gmail and send from there You will have to check if for responses however or you can tell them to answer to your Cox account.

A:Cannot Get Email To Send/receive On New Computer

0x800CCC0FYour server has unexpectedly terminated the connection. Possible causes for this include server problems, network problems, or a long period of inactivity. Account. yourmail.com (or .net), Server: 'server_name', Protocol: POP3, Server Response: '+OK', Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Error Number: 0x800CCC0FYour antivirus program is conflicting with your email program which is preventing your email from being downloaded. You mention that you have no antivirus on the computer so that obviously is not the problem. There is something else you can try.FOR OUTLOOK EXPRESS:1. At Tools menu, choose Accounts2. Choose Mail tab.3. Either double click on your Account name, or highlight it and click on Properties. 4. Choose Servers.5. Click My Server Requires Authentication.6. Choose OK to complete. For Outlook, it should be something similar. I'm not familiar with Outllook, so you'll have to root around for it OR someone may post the info here. Send an email to yourself, see if you can send it then receive.

A:Unable to send or receive email

You can export your contacts to a .pst file for re-importing once you reinstall office. Go to your contacts and from the file menu, choose import/export. There will be a few steps to follow, but should be self explanatory. Just remember what you name the file and where it saves to on your computer. Once you reinstall office, go back to the contacts section, and choose import/export again from the file menu. Then import your address book back in.

Here is a link to a microsoft article that discusses exporting contacts:

I'm trying to sort out my brothers Laptop which was working fine up to Fri 13th June.
He can send and receive email but cannot access the web. It is Windows Vista and Norton 360 - No new programs have been downloaded and no virus's that seem detectable.

Any suggestions please

A:Can send & receive email but not access net

Hi

problems like this can sometimes be caused by malware, you say you cant find any viruses but just to be sure pop over to the security and the web section and take a read, as email doesnt rely on the HTTP protocol to recieve mail, it could be something along those lines.

I have had the odd case of no web at home yet MSN messenger works fine, i reboot my router and modem all is well, sometimes its the ISP that's at fault, try another PC if you can on the same connection.

I am using outlook 2010 with an exchange server and working online. I would like to be able to send a receive at regular interval. I have checked the "Schedule an automatic send/receive every 30 minutes" box and still doesn't work. Thinking my outlook is damaged I asked a few more people in my office to do the same and they have the same problem. Anyone else run into this and if so have you found a solution?

Whenever I send and receive emails that have ?word? documents attached, the documents often get corrupted in transmission. This shows itself as spaces between words disappearing. Only a few each time. For example a recent 20 000 + word document I?ve been working on, had about 30 ? 40 spaces lost. Any ideas what the issue could be?

Hi, I hope someone can help.

I've been using a virgin.media email account with Windows Live Mail for years without any problems, but today, whenever I try to send/receive mail, I get the following message:

"Unable to send or receive messages for the Virginmedia account. The connection to the server has failed.

Server: 'pop3.virginmedia.com'

I've read a few similar forum posts and it looks as though some settings might outdated or need altering, but I have no idea which ones to change. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have a problem in that I can't receive email from a business associate who used MS Outlook. I am using MS Outlook Express. The only think I could think of was to check to see if he was blocked under "Block Messages." I have determined that this is not the problem because his email address is not listed. Does anyone think that there is another problem on my end, or is there an issue on my business associate's end? Would appreciate any assistance as this is most agrivating.

As you have had no other replies as yet may I suggest that you check the obvious first. Is he using your correct email address?? Send him an email requesting that he replies using the 'Reply' button within that email. If it does not return then you will have confirmed there are other issues at fault.

A:Can not receive POP3 email in Outlook

i have edited and removed your email address

you have reached your storage limit on the server
and thats a generic email sent , since you have reached this storage limit, yahoo automatically send out an email and also they stop you sending or receiving email

log into yahoo via a web browser and delete some of your emails
start with the "trash"/"bin"

IMAP will still connect and synchronise with the server
POP will not download anymore emails - as you will not be receiving them - because of the storage limit being reached on the server

Hi, Techguy,

I have a laptop running on Windows XP. My problme is with Outlook 2007 and I used Yahoo mail.

IT all started (on a dark and hot night J/K) three days ago when I turned on my outlook 2007. It asked if I wanted to Archive (which I've never done before) and I clicked yes. Then, my Outlook stopped working. It would not send or receive. The error message suggested that I run "scanpst.exe" on all my .pst files. I did and the repairs were completed.

I had too many emails, so I deleted some emails.

Currently, I can send emails, but can not receive any emails. I keep getting error message "0x80004005 Operation failed".

I scanned my whole laptop via NOD32; nothing.
I created new email profile; still can not receive emails.
I can send email but not receive. Please help. Thanks.

Until recently my Outlook email worked just fine. The other day I began to receive many duplicate emails. I deleted my account from Outlook and re-entered all of the information. I ran a test email which seemed to pause on the "Log onto incoming mail server" but then it showed completed.
I have re-entered the email account data many times and keep getting the following error:

Task 'mail.xxxxdeletedmyserverinfo.com - Receiving' reported error (0x800CCC90) : 'Your incoming (POP3) e-mail server has reported an internal error. If you continue to receive this message, contact your server administrator or Internet service provider (ISP). The server responded: -ERR unable to open that message'

I sent this problem to Network Solutions but did not get a reply.

I can access my email through Outlook Express and directly through the web.

Thanks for any help.

A:Outlook 2003 can't receive POP3 email

Did you use the test function in Outlook when you set up the account?

Don't bother with the "Test" function in Outlook - it often fails for no particular reason.

If you did use it, try sending yourself an email the normal way.

The error you receive can be caused by

Incorrect Email settings.
Incorrect scan settings on anti-virus software (if any).
Corrupted account settings.

First, carefully check your settings. Make sure EVERYTHING is spelled correctly, spacing is correct ([email protected] instead of [email protected] .com), punctuation is correct . instead of ,

One of the most common causes of this error is invalid user name/password. Re-enter them.

Turn off your antivirus email scanning software if all settings are correct.

Since you deleted the account and recreated, the chances are slim that the account settings are corrupt.

Your mail server may also require SSL. I don't know where it is located in Outlook. Find Requires SSL and check the box. Make sure to apply any changes.

If none of this works, post the mail domain which could help us in working with you to resolve the issue.

Also, let us know if you are still receiving duplicate mails in Outlook.

Press F9 while you are online, it will do a send/receive. You may also want to check your send/receive settings. Go to the send/receive buttin and click the arrow next to it and select Send/Receive settings and Define Send/Receive Groups. Edit the entries that are there and make sure they are set the way you want it to work. Is your account in Outlook set up as an offline folder?

Have read within this forum about correctly signing out of ISP accounts (if users read their email via web)- I personally never read via ISP's pages but did make a check to see if I had logged into ISP's web pages which I hadn't.

Not sure what's going on with the application in this instance & appreciate any help you can offer me for this particular prob in advance.

I've been using Outlook this morning and everything ok until just now. Composed a forwarding email from an incoming email, clicked on send and...nothing. But get this message (helpful, not) "Cannot send this item". Also tried changing email accounts, same thing. But tried sending test emails from variety of accounts, all ok. Is there something about the email that is preveting outlook from sending this email. It was generated from Windows mail by my daughter and I've replied to her previous emails with no problem so its just this one. Anybody got any clues? Thanks in advance.
Update: I created a new email and attached the email from daughter and this was sent successfully.

Here is the error.

The message could not be sent because the server rejected the sender's e-mail address. The sender's e-mail address was '[email protected]'. Hi,

I am using a btinternet.com (BT Yahoo) email address with outlook 2007. I have used it for ages with no problems, then suddenly a few days ago I could receive, but not send email. The messages would appear to have sent, would show in my sent items folder, but they didn't actually get sent.

I tried to change a few settings, which didn't work, and have now put it back as before, but now the messages don't even leave my outbox. When I click send/receive, it just stays on sending for ages, but I get no error messages.

I connect to the internet through TalkTalk broadband, and the settings I was using were POP3 - mail.btinternet.com SMTP - smtp.talktalk.net.

Please help, this is driving me crazy!

In new email, start typing the address you want to remove. When you have enough characters for auto complete to show it (sometimes one letter is enough), use DOWN ARROW key on keyboard to select the address in question and press DEL key.

I have verified that this is NOT an ISP issue (I opted out of the SBC DSL Port 25 restriction).

I logged in to my Go Daddy account and RESET all of my email accounts.

When I run the TEST within Outlook, everything works fine!

However, when I send test emails, I get an Undeliverable message from System Administrator with the message:

The following recipient(s) could not be reached:

'[email protected]' on 10/30/2006 12:27 PM
554 Message refused.

I get the following error message (0x800CCC7D) when I try to send email:

Your outgoing (SMTP) server does not support SSL-secured connections.

I checked with my ISP (Verizon) and they checked and concluded all my settings in Outlook were correct. They said to contact Microsoft.

Microsoft forums were of no help.

Any ideas?

As of this morning, I can't send email from Outlook Express. I'm using version 6.0. I can receive email, but can't send email. Oh, and I have an SBC account. Everything worked last night. This is the message I get:

Your server has unexpectedly terminated the connection. Possible causes for this include server problems, network problems, or a long period of inactivity. Account: 'pop.sbcglobal.yahoo.com', Server: 'smtp.sbcglobal.yahoo.com', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Error Number: 0x800CCC0F

I am NEWBIE and computer stupid, so PLEASE be patient with me!

This just started a few days ago.
Will not send emails from outbox
Will receive emails OK
I have done no changes other than the standard updates thru MS.
Contacted Charter and went through troubleshooting - they say its a MS Outlook issue. I am able to send/receive thru my web based accounts @ Charter.
I have gone through "safe mode" w/ MS tech and wants a ton of money, didn't fix anything!
I am on a hotel wifi network but have been for months and this just started a few days ago.
On a quirky sidenote: The B/G color always wants to default to white. I always had it dark grey, changes back to white when I restart Outlook.

A:Outlook 2013 - won't send email

You could try Repairing Office 2013. To do that open Control Panel, select Programs & Features, then scroll down to Microsoft Office 2013, Right Click on that & select Change & that will open a couple of Repair Options to try.

I have had an error in Outlook Express for several weeks that will not allow me to send email. My computer tech is not sure he can fix the error and he is swamped with business accounts. He asked me to contact you and ask about :
outgoing server
outgoing port
SSL yes or no??

Has something changed in these 3 areas???

Apparently this is info that will help him try to pinpoint the error problem that is preventing me from sending email. Can you help??

Thank you. Joanne Donovan [email protected]

Can anyone help me as to what to do? Thanks.

Verify Settings in Outlook Express for AT&T Email

And,

Verify Email Server Settings (POP and SMTP)

Your SMTP server port should be 465, not 25.

What's the best way to go about sending a mass email in Office 2003? I'm aware of distribution groups, but this email is going out to hundreds of addresses....none of them local (e.g. not listed in the directory). I've got a text file (or excel) I can dump/import the addresses from, but I can't seem to find a way to do this.

Suggestions?

Thanks ahead of time

I'm running XP with Comcast as ISP, and Outlook Express as mail server. Everything was running well until yesterday. All of a sudden I can't send email. Incoming email works as before. No changes have been made recently except I started using the standby function about a week ago.
Am getting the 0x800CCC0F error message. Disconnected from router and now am running directly to Comcast modem but problem remains.

Hi,

I am wondering how to send an email to a list of people in an Access database. The email should have a message in the body, as well as a Word attachment.

I know how to do this using a mail merge in Word where I can send the email using the Word doc as the email body message or attach this Word doc to the email, and I can select the recipients from an Access db. I want to be able to do both - have a message in the body of the email and attach a Word doc. I don't see an option to do this when doing a mail merge in Word using an access db.

Is there a way I can do this?

Thanks!

I have it set up exactly as a friend does on his 2 computers, so I am assuming it is right. I also tried to set it up for an aol screenname, using their exact set up instructions, and even then, I can only receive email, and not send. Any suggestions?

A few days ago both mine and my wife's Outlook Express started getting errors when we tried to send email It gives both of us the following error the account name is different obviously The connection to the server has failed Account 'spiritcloud' Server 'smtp comcast net' Protocol SMTP Port Secure SSL No Socket Error Error Number x CCC EThe only thing that changed the same on both computers was an automatic update by our AVG software I don't think that is the cause because my AVG updates each morning and my email worked fine until late one night No email settings were changed No security or network settings were manually changed No hardware was changed Nothing Our outgoing mail just stopped working I talked to our ISP tech support and he said that of the time that error means a problem with either the email settings or with security settings such as anti virus software Since I knew the email settings hadn't changed I looked at the AV I Email Express Send Won't Outlook even completely removed it but the email error remained I tried setting up the account from scratch on outlook express--no change I tried setting up a new account--same error I tested every OE authentication setting combination--nothing worked Mail does send from the accounts using webmail Not sure if that means the problem is with outlook express or if it's apples and oranges Anyone know the solution or something I can try I'm going to talk to our ISP tech support again but I thought I would more likely get an answer solution from you fine folks AKA gurus I always tell people quot Let me ask on the 'guru site ' quot hehehThanks in advance for any advice and or help

A:Outlook Express Won't Send Email

Hmm. A couple wild thoughts here:

Have you tried disconnecting from the internet entirely and connecting again to see if that solves the problem?

Have you tried flushing your DNS and IP numbers? I'm afraid I don't remember the directions for that, but I found it here on BC. That might solve the problem.

By the way, what AVG are you using? AntiSpyware or AntiVirus?

When I try to send email, it gets stuck in the Outbox. When I run the "Test Account Settings," I receive a message saying that Outlook cannot connect to the outgoing mail server and to check my SSL or port settings, and that if the problem persists to check with my ISP.

I am using Comcast as my ISP and I have contacted them. My settings are correct (Port 110 for incoming and 25 for outgoing) according to them.
When I called Comcast they had me change the outgoing Port to 587. This did not fix the problem!
The only additional help Comcast can provide is transfering to Microsoft where they want me to buy their service plan. Is there another way to fix this problem?
Thank you!

A:Outlook 2003 Send Email Trouble

Welcome to TSF

Make sure Tools/Options/Mail setup, and tick the box- Send immediately when connected is ticked.

Are you able to delete it when its stuck in there?

Quote:

Outgoing Email isn't sent.

Failure to connect to the outgoing SMTP mail server is usually caused when ISP's begin blocking outgoing mail that is not sent through their own Email servers. We normally are able to work around this block by sending Outgoing mail traffic on port 587 rather than port 25.

1. Open your Email account properties. Recheck the outgoing SMTP server settings.
2. Outgoing SMTP server: mail.yourdomain.com
3. Outgoing SMTP server port: change from 25 to 587
4. Outgoing SMTP server requires authentication
5. Authentication uses same password as Incoming server
6. Outgoing SMTP server does NOT use SSL

The problem is not with Comcast. Try removing your account completely from OE. You will not lose your mail. From there just set it back up. I work for an ISP and you would be amazed at the problems that come in and this simple task fixes the issues.

A:Problem To Send Email Using Outlook Express

Outlook Express is not the problem, since the message is apparently from either your E-mail service or from your Anti-virus. I would first go on-line to check the "sent box" there to determine if the mail got that far.
Are you sure AVG returned the E-mail, or did it come from elsewhere (a mailer-deamon, for example), and if this message was in the form of an E-mail, who is the sender?

Set oOutlookApp = CreateObject("Outlook.Application")

End If

Set oItem = oOutlookApp.CreateItem(olMailItem)

Hi,

*Unable to send emails to external contacts. Only able to send emails to internal contacts.*
*Using Microsoft Exchange.*

I tried to send out an email to internal and external contacts in the first place but then Outlook prompted to restart. I restarted the Outlook thought maybe its the add-ins problem so I enable the add-ins but then when I try to send out the email again, it did not ask me to restart but close the program instead.

Did a test send to internal contacts only and it sent out (works) but with external contacts it gives the prompt again.

Problem solved: I deleted the Outlook profile and recreated it. Test send to internal and external contacts, WORKS!

*But instead of recreate the profile, are there any other ways to solve the issue?*

regards,
Booog

Hello does using by Outlook work link 2007 7 IE Send email and not MS to all I Send link by email using IE 7 and MS Outlook 2007 does not work know sure the problem I'm about to describe has been discussed on this forum because I've been researching possible solutions tonight for over hrs without success In short have a new computer with Vista Home Premium which seemed to be working fine Only had this rig a couple days so how much could go wrong right WRONG All seemed well until I tried to send a Send link by email using IE 7 and MS Outlook 2007 does not work link by email and nothing happened So I tried again with same results I ended up trying to open Outlook but it wouldn't respond either but WOULD work fine again if I restarted the computer From my research on this forum and others I believe Vista for some reason Vista is refusing to recognize Outook as my default email client EVEN THOUGH I HAVE REPEATEDLY GONE INTO 'SET PROGRAM ACCESS AND COMPUTER DEFAULTS' AND MADE BOTH IE AND MS OFFICE DEFAULT PROGRAMS I HAVE ALSO REPEATEDLY GONE INTO 'SET YOUR DEFAULT PROGRAMS' AND MADE IE AND MS OUTLOOK DEFAULT PROGRAMS THERE AS WELL MAKING SURE EACH PROGRAM ALSO HAD ALL OF ITS DEFAULTS CHECKED I also went into IE internet options and set up both IE and Outlook as default programs there as well and even went in under the 'advanced' tab and reset IE settings losing some cookies in the process NONE OF THIS HAS HELPED I'm stumped and frustrated I suspect there's a problem with the registry but just a guess I could sure use some help with this Thanks in advance Carl

Maybe someone has an idea about this that might help even if it's just to say To Firefox Express Usiing Email Using When Outlook Send quot get used to it quot I apollgize for so much detail but when I have tried to describe the problem more succinctly people don't seem to understand And I certainly can understand if no one has anything to say about this I regularly use the Firefox browser When I have opened a website and want to send a link to it to friends I will click File gt Send Link That causes the OE blue opening screen to show monentarily to be replaced by the screen for composing emails although the various scripting options are grayed out so that I can't use them The URL of the link I want to send is already in the email I then compose some comments to Usiing Outlook Express To Send Email When Using Firefox go wtih the link and click File gt Send Message I then get that box which shows what activity OE is engaging in It shows that it is connecting to Hotmail and then it shows that it is sending the email However the recipients of the email tell me that the text I composed is in light gray and not in black as it was when I composed it And they send the email to me When I view the email usihng Firefox sure enough the text I composed is in light gray But if I open the email in IE the text I composed is in black as it should be Now if I use the IE browser from the outset to get to that website when I have opened the website I clcik File gt Send gt Send Link I don't get sent to OE as I did using Firefox Instead I get sent directly to Hotmail to the Compose Email page And the URL of the link is not in the body of the email as it is with Firefox but instead it is an attachment And the recipients get the text I composed in black rather than light gray I have the impression that Mcirosoft is somehow responsible for the problem so as to encourage me to use IE rather than Firefox But maybe not So that is my problem Of course I could avoid the problem by using IE rather than Firefox when I want to send a link to a website to someone But the trouble is that I am so used to using Firefox that I never can remember to change to IE in that circumstance I can very well understand if no one has anything to say about this

A:Usiing Outlook Express To Send Email When Using Firefox

I don't use OE (instead I use Thunderbird), but what would happen if you copy and pasted the url into the body of the OExpress letter itself?
Perhaps someone using OE could help you, because I presume it is some sort of setting for your OE E-mail format.

For what it is worth, I cycled through a test (via a GMail account) using Ff and Tb, and the test E-Mail returned with the "sent link" underlined and in blue.
Cheers,
John

I've just had a problem with Outlook Express that I've never encountered before. When I right click on a document and select Send To, and then Mail Recipient, I get a message now that says-

No profiles have been created. To create a new profile, use the Mail icon in the Contro Panel.

Could this have been caused by any of three new security updates from Microsoft yesterday?

I tried to remove them but it cautioned me that several programs on my computer may not work properly if I uninstall them. I send files to lots of people and I don't want the hassle of of creating a new profile every time I do.

Thanks in advance.
