I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/directdownload.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

You can edit. Click the green pencil. But I already did it to remove the two profane words.
The 755 came in four different chassis sizes. You chose the smallest one with the smallest power supply so you limited yourself. you need a low profile card here are some links
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814139165
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814139007

Newegg has several other low profile AGP cards but those are the only ones I could find that include the smaller bracket (some of the others may offer it as an accessory from the manufacture for an extra charge but I am not sure of that or which ones would) that you need for the card to fit your case. There is one extra step in installation. You must remove the fullsized bracket and install the low profile one (this is simple and involves removeing and replaceing the two screws holding the bracket to the card). Other than that it's just like installing any other AGP card.

I have a Sony external dvd cd burner and am trying to burn dvd of my digital photos, upgraded to My DVD 6 and thats when my problems started. Everything is ok until I try to preview the dvd, then the photos turn upside down, The software manufactured help line said I need a 32 bit video card. Bought one a Best Buy, of couse it does not fit.
The slot is there, but I have a slim case, Dell can fix my up for $119, but hate to spend that much for an older computer, anyone with ideas.

A:I have a Dell Optiplex GX270. Can it support a graphics card?

It has an 8x AGP slot, but doesn't most propably have enough good a power supply to support any decent cards, like these: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814102814 or http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814102730
Neither do Dells have good cooling so the 3850 would run pretty hot in it.

The Optiplex basically takes a standard ATX PSU, but you might need to cut some metal to expose the new PSU's power switch or something like that. Safest way would be to get a Dell specific PSU, like this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817703016 but if you're feeling lucky, you can save a bit and get this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817703015

Country:Ireland.
The power supplies in the SFF are so small and the case is soo small that there are few to none upgrades.  USFF systems have no slots whatsoever.
The 19W ASUS EAH5450 would be the ONLY one I know works.

The Silent ASUS card fits all models Except the USFF.  Optiplex Tower is a better choice because you can use much better cards.
USFF isn't upgrade-able due to no slots.

Hi TechSpot Forums!

I own a Dell Optiplex GX280 Mini-Tower PC, and am seriously considering buying a graphics card for it.

My question to you is, which would best be compatible with my specs?

System Specs:

Dell Inc. OptiPlex GX280
Windows XP Professional Service Pack 3
3.00 gigahertz Intel Pentium 4
2552 Megabytes Usable Installed Memory
500.10 GB HDD

Current Video Card:

Name: Intel(R) 82915G/GV/910GL Express Chipset Family
Manufacturer: Intel Corporation
DAC Type: Internal
Approx. Total Memory: 128.00 MB
Current Display Mode: 1400 x 1050 (32 bit) (60GHz)

Does installing a graphics card mean you can achieve higher resolutions on your LCD monitor? That is partly the reason I will be purchasing one.

Thanks for any info or suggestions,

~ TomHax

That depends on the maximum resolution supported by your monitor.

I jave just installed windows 7 professional on my dell optiplex gx280 system and came to know that there is no driver available for the built in graphics card (Intel 82915G/GV/910GL Express Chipset Family) that can work with windows 7. Now I am thinking about buyiong a new graphics card. So, please tell me which one would be an optimal compromise between price and performance? I am not going to play heavy games or do any advanced video editing on my PC. I will be only running graphics editing software like adobe photoshop and illustrator and ofcourse, I want to get windows aero interface to work, too.

Or, is there any way to get my current graphics card work in windows seven???

Thanks in advance for giving any advice.

I'm an almost total Noob
Have a desktop Optiplex GX620 computer I use only at work. No gaming. The power supply for this computer is 280W.
It uses an Integrated Intel Graphics Media Accelator 950. I don't know if it is low-profile card or not.
This integrated graphics card sucks--even for just text.
I am seeking an under $50 one that is compatible with the computer.
Can anyone recommend something or send me to a website that might help me find something compatible?

I was just given an old Dell OptiPlex GX110 for my kids to use as I don't want them anywhere near my laptop (what am I stupid?) lol Anyway it came with a Dell P780 Monitor. I can't get past 640X480 16 Color mode. Now even though I don't want my kids anywhere near the good computers, I do love then enough to want them enough to have at least 800X600 256 Colors minimum using the on board video adapter. Anyone know what drivers I need?

Thanks

A:Old Dell OptiPlex GX110 Graphics

One thing Dell has is an excellent online database for their drivers, and what was supposed to have come with the machine in the first place. Here's what you need to do...

Go to this page - http://support.dell.com/support/top...&l=en&lnki=0&s=gen&SystemID=PLX_PNT_P03_GX110
- where you will find all the drivers that were available for the GX110, OR,

Go to THIS page - http://support.dell.com/ - and choose PRODUCT SUPPORT. A window will open and give you 3 choices - Enter Model (where I got the info above from), Enter a Tag and Log In. You can't log in, since you do not have an account (yet), but you should be able to Enter a Tag...

On the back of the OptiPlex should be a small white Dell tag with a series of numbers. If you type these into the Enter a Tag and proceed, what they will give you is what came with THAT machine originally, and what they can provide you now with.

As for what you have...

Base Model -

Manufacturer : Dell
Model : OptiPlex GX110 600MHz L/MT/SFF
Standard Memory : 64MB - Removable
Number of sockets for upgrade : 2 (PC100/133)
Maximum amount of memory : 512MB
Memory must be installed in set(s) of : 1

Max Model -

Manufacturer : Dell
Model : OptiPlex GX110 1.0G
Standard Memory : 64 MB (removable)
Number of sockets for upgrade : 2 (PC100/133)
Maximum amount of memory : 512 MB
Memory must be installed in set(s) of : 1
Bus Type : PCI
HardDisk Bustype : Ultra ATA-66
CPU : 1.0GHz Intel Pentium III
Standard Videos : 4 MB (Using the Integrated Video)
Max Video : 16 MB (Using the Optional Video)
Video Comments : Integrated Intel 3D Graphics with Direct AGP and a 4MB display cache, Optional: NVIDIA TNT2 M64 16MB PCI graphics card
HardDisk Comments : Ultra ATA/66 4.3, 6.4, 13.6 and 15GB 5,400RPM and 10 or 20GB 7,200RPM hard drives
Model Comments : 100MHz FSB, Intel 810E Chipset
Native OS : Windows 98/NT/2000

This model of computer can be upgraded to Windows XP home or Pro, as long as the RAM is above 128MB (256MBs is recommended or maxing out to the full 512MB). It can NOT be made to work with Vista, as it does not have the RAM strength for it. It should be able to have a larger Hard Drive and possibly a better video card than a 16MB installed as well.

As for the graphics problems, which a video card would solve, remember that this is an OptiPlex, which was meant for business use originally, which means that video wasn't all that improtant to them back then, so don't be surprised if there isn't much upgrading available with the onboard video chip.

Good luck!

A:Dell Optiplex 760- Intel 4 Graphics Issue

Welcome to Seven Forums.
Go into device manager and see if your monitor is listed.
If it is listed as pnp. I would suggest going to Dell to see if their is a.inf file (driver) for it and install it.

Installing the .inf file should get your monitor recognized and this will allow it to run it's native resolution.

The power supply will limit what you can put in it, but not necessarily as much as which of the four different styles the case came in. Which one of these,

Hi,
I own a Dell Optiplex GX270 and I recently upgraded it from Windows XP to Windows 7 Ultimate. The problem is, everything on the screen is way too big, and I am not able to change the screen resolution. I am currently looking for a driver that I am able to use with this computer. I have tried going into BIOS setup and changed Integrated Devices (LegacySelect Options) and changed the Onboard Video Buffer from 1mb to 8mb, but that didn't work either.
System Specs:
3.0GHz
2GB Ram
40GB Hard Drive

P.S I know on my profile it says I have an acer and that my computer is a laptop but this GX270 is a computer that I am selling.

I've got an OptiPlex 9020 SFF and am wondering what is the best possible graphics card that can be installed given the following constraints:

Single slot - due to the PSU being a short distance away from the PCI Express x16 slot
Length < 17 cm (6.5") - it appears the SFF can only take cards of length upto about 16/17 cm
Only low profile/half height - due to SFF
Powered by PCI Express only - due to PSU not having additional power outlets, and PSU is a 255W 90% unit

I'm considering one of these options:

PowerColor AXR7 250 1GBD5-HLE http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00JQUBLY4/
VisionTek AMD Radeon 7750 SFF 1GB  http://www.amazon.com/dp/B008RLHFQ6/

Will either of these cards be compatible with my 9020 SFF. Are there other better options I can consider?

A:Graphics card for OptiPlex 9020 SFF

Low Profile cards by definition are 25w max.
Radeon 5450 = 19W
R7 250 =  68W
Thats why Fanless cards are used because they cannot afford the power for the fan. All sizes of ×4 and ×8 PCI Express cards are allowed a maximum power consumption of 25 W. All half-height cards are initially 10 W; X16 cards may configure themselves as 'high-power' to reach 25 W, while half-height ×1 cards are fixed at 10?W.

Even if you get a Tower You CANNOT USE Double wide cards because they don't Physically fit. Tower X16 Slots are marked 75W and have a 305W power supply not 255W.

Hi All, Hope you are all well.

I've just bought a pre loved dell - Optiplex 745 in SFF (not ultra small).

I know these machines don't have brilliant power supplies (275w) but i'd like to pop in a graphics card.

Whats the best i can put in this machine?

Specs are: 2.6ghz C2Duo, 2gb DDR and 160gb hard drive running w7 ultimate.

I may pop in a wireless pci card in for good measure.

I'm not a hardcore gamer but i do play the odd source game, mmo and quake 3.

I've heard suggestions about the GT 430.

Thanks in advance!

A:Graphics card for Optiplex 210L slim

Your first problem is getting a card to fit in the slim case that will max game settings.

The second problem is the power supply unit, which is nearly always a proprietary PSU. It would be nearly impossible to replace a proprietary PSU with one that would power a high-end graphics card.

A:graphics card recommendation for old Optiplex GX620

will2010tSapphire HD 5450 1GB would work in a dell optiplex GX 620? slim. also is it just plug and play?
I doubt it's plug and play; to illustrate, a relative replaced a burned out 6450 with an 8400GS, and Windows installed the default VGA driver and left it that way. The screen showed a big black border, and the resolution was sub-optimal. Installing the correct software from NVidia eliminated the border and brought full resolution.I'd say the card will work, but you'll have to install the driver (which is not difficult). I have a Sapphire 6570 installed in my GX620, with excellent results.

Hello All,

I recently purchased a Dell Optiplex 745 SFF. I currently am using a Dell 4100 and it just wasn't cutting it so I decided to do a bit of an upgrade. I'm having difficulty locating a video card for an upgrade. The PSU is only capable of 275 watts (as advertised). I've read a couple of places that this is rating is underestimated of the actual capabilities? Regardless, I still am having a difficult time of locating a video card, mainly because most sites don't advertise the minimum PSU wattage. If someone can point me in the right direction, I'd like to have at least a 256mb video card.

For reference the card needs to be the following:

PCI-E x16
Low Profile
Maximum of 275w...

Hello everyone, I'm new here and I really need your help :) I have a Dell Optiplex 755 Desktop and incredible as it seems that I didn't know the desktop had no graphic card (video card?) lol x) The desktop has been offered at Christmas, I wonder if you could indicate an ideal video card for my desktop which is not too expensive, I'm using Windows 7 Pro, I don't know much about computers components but I found this graphic card what do you think? Will work or nah? graphics-cards.specout.com/.../ASUS-GeForce-210-Silent I really need your help guys.

A:Dell Optiplex 755 Desktop HELP Video Card

Actually thats bad advice because the card in question won't necessarily fit into any case EXCEPT TOWER due to the single slot configuration.  FAT WIDE heatsinks will not physically go into the Desktop SFF models and USFF has no slots so no card is an option.
That card's heatsink sticks out more than 1 slot wide.

This is why I always recommend specific ASUS Radeon HD5450 or 6450 cards.

There's next to nothing that is designed to run a 235 watt power supply. But some of the Dell PSU's are under rated so you can squeeze a bit more out of it.
This would likely work: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814261107 - it uses 29 watts.
So should this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814141119 - it uses about 33 watts.

The monitor is Dell E173FP 17" (17" V.I.S.) Analogue Flat Panel Display.
The PC is a Dell Optiplexgx60 Celeron 2.4(R) 768MB

When I start the pc up normally with the monitor plugged into he card I get the startup screen but then it goes blank. I can plug the monitor into the PC's integrated vga plug and see the display fine on screen.

If I start the PC in VGA mode I can see the desktop but if I go to the control panel and change the screen resolution to a higher one it just goes blank.

Does anyone have any ideads? Thanks, Mark

if u were to buy a decent "half height" video card that fit the dell............ then u would have to buy a more powerfull power supply to power it
then there would be airflow issues and overheating

I need an advice for buying a dedicated video card, for my Dell Optiplex 7010 SFF. Curently I have the Intel HD (Intel i3 3240), but I want something more.
Ive found the AMD Radeon HD7470 at a good price, but also the Nvidia Quatro 600 (low profile).
My question: Will Nvidia Quatro 600 work on my system?
The Dell Optiplex SFF has an 240 W power supply. The PCIex16 Slot (BLUE) (Voltage supported 3.3V/12V) has the maximum wattage = 50 W, and the Nvidia Quatro 600 (low profile) has the maximum power consumption = 40 W.
And, if I want to upgrade my CPU to i7 3770 in the future, will the power be enough?

No such model card works with ALL SIZES.
MOST cards DO NOT FIT and WILL NOT WORK.
The slot is only 1 card wide.
The power supply is 305W or LESS depending on size.
the 755 is not a gaming system.
75W card max and ONLY with Mini tower.
Best single slot card for tower is a GT740.

I've been reading somewhat through these forums and my problem seems to be the same for a lot of dell users. My horizontal dots on the screen like this appears to be the same with others. Now I have re-installed the Nvidia driver and the problem remains. I've take the hardware accelerator down 1 notch and the dots go away but games are glitchy and videos dont play. If I take it down 4 levels then I can play only some movies but games are still glitchy. I have a Dell XPS M170 w/ media center, nvidia geforce go 7800 gtx graphics card. I only have about a week to fix this problem due to being deployed soon. If anyone has any clue to what this issue is any help would be greatly appreaciated. Thank you

A:I need a new graphics card for a dell..

It has an AGP slot. But you need to upgrade your memory, and video card. You have 128 or 256MB. And 512 or 768 or 1gb are NEEDED to do any gaming.

hi guys im looking at a geforce gtx450 or 460 for my dell 545s slimline, will it fit, or any other suggestions on cases, and what psu ill need any info would be great

A:graphics card for dell

The Inspiron 545s only takes low-profile cards. I believe that neither the 450 or 460 are available in low profile. (At www.newegg.com I see a low-profile 430, which probably isn't a fast card, but it is a Fermi series product.)

It also has a 250W PSU, which is lower than recommended for most add-in cards.

I'm not sure, but I don't think that a standard ATX power will fit in the case.

If you wish to move the motherboard to a standard case, be aware that the connector for the front panel stuff (power switch, power LED, drive LED, etc.) is a Dell proprietary design. That may not make it impossible, but it'd be more work than with an industry standard motherboard.

My advice: treat the PC an an appliance, as Dell intended. If you want a PC that uses industry standard components, build one. (It's what I've done since 1997.)

Hey guys It's been a while since I have been on here Recently I have been having an issue with my old Dell XPS that I have traced back to the graphics card This is my current setup It's a Dell XPS running Windows Ultimate bit with Service Pack ghz Q Core Quad gb DDR PC - Ram Two identical rpm gb Seagate Barracuda Hard Drives and an Nvidia GeForce GT with gb DDR for the graphics card I have never had any trouble with this set up but have recently been getting blue screens and believe the graphics card is the cause I don't do any major gaming Emulating Gamecube games That I actually own but am too lazy Graphics Card Question XPS 410 Dell to play on the actual Gamecube system is about as far as I go so the Nvidia GeForce Gt has actually worked very well for me up until now Here is a picture of my exact card I have been told that the best card that I can currently upgrade to will either be a ATI HD or an Dell XPS 410 Graphics Card Question Nvidia GTX -E I did a comparison and out of the two I like the Nvidia better for my own personal reasons I'm sure it's probably much more than I Dell XPS 410 Graphics Card Question actually need seeing as I don't do any real gaming but if you can't tell from my current set up I like the biggest and the baddest This computer definitely did not come with a Q Core Quad in it and it's definitely more processor than I need Anyways getting to the point I was told that the Nvidia GTX -E was the best my computer could handle because of my power supply I have the stock watt power supply that came with my system I understand that this isn't a very good power supply but I really don't see much need to upgrade I know the wattage is low but the main reason I was told that I could only go with a ATI HD or an Nvidia GTX -E is because these are the most current Graphics cards that don't need a pin power connector which everyone says my computer doesn't have However I was snooping around in my computer and found this Now call me slow but isn't this a pin graphics card connector I know quite a bit about computers but I am still learning Basically I was just wondering if this was indeed the connector that I need for most of these other graphics cards out there or if I do just need to stick with the Nvidia GTX -E which I'm sure is more than capable of doing what I want it to do It's just against my nature not to at least check into the best that my computer can handle before making a final decision Let me go ahead and say one more thing before I sign off I know that the Dell Xps does not actually support more than gb of ram or a Q Core Quad But if you look hard enough online you will find that it can support my current setup with the current BIOS update which I have done I have been using this exact setup for years now when I upgraded to Windows The processor and ram work great with my Xps My graphics card is just starting to show it's age and needs to be replaced Any input would be greatly appreciated Thanks in advance -Kevin

A:Dell XPS 410 Graphics Card Question

Your power supply does have the PCIe power connector. I had a "cousin" of the XPX410, a Dimension E510 which was also BTX style. The XPS line was the top line Dell consumer models back when they were sold.

The general consensus on the Dell forum by the techies on there was that Dell also tended to underrate power supplies in that era, thus your 375 watt is more like a 400 or 415 watt commercial power supply.

I used to do a lot of support on the Dell forums, thus my familiarity.

As far as what video card to get, you can get many suggestions on that. I've had systems with NVIDIA cards (I currently have one with a GTS450 OC) and ATI Radeon cards. Both worked well. But, I'm not a gamer.

If you want more specific Dell help, here is the link to the Dell Desktop hardware forum, which is mostly users like this forum.

Hey folks, new member here. I have a Dell XPS8300 and I'am looking to get a new graphics card since Diablo 3 is coming out soon. I'm not tech savvy, so any help would be greatly appreciated. Here is the specs on the desktop.

Processor --- 2nd Generation Intel® Core? i7-2600 processor (3.4GHz with 8MB Cache)

Memory3 --- 8GB4 DDR3 SDRAM at 1333MHz

Hard Drive --- 1TB - 7200RPM, SATA 3.0Gb/s, 16MB Cache

Video Card --- AMD Radeon? HD 6450 1GB DDR3

I'm basically looking for a card under $200 that will give me the max performance allowed on Battlefield 3 and D3. I read some other sites that you need to know the desktops watt max and how many slots it has before a graphics card is even considered. What would you guys recommend I get? Any Suggestions as to the cards?

Thank you for the help gents.

Hi,

I posted a similiar question just under a year ago and I bought a HD4670 with IceQ not realising that it wouldn't fit. That obviously meant that my PC could only hold a single slot graphics card.

My PC Stats:

Dell Dimension E521,
AMD Athlon 64 x2 Dual,
Core Processor 5000+,
2.61Ghz, 2Gb RAM,
Nvidia GeForce 7300 LE

*I also have a bigger PSU thats not attached: 'Dell Silencer 500W-600W, not sure which'. (Bought it to power the HD4670 but as the card didn't fit I returned the card but the other shop wouldn't take the PSU back.)

Could you guys help me with ideas of good graphics cards I could fit into my system? Take in mind I have a 600W PSU and a HD Monitor.

Thanks in advance

just remember that if you install a different card, you well invalidate your warranty..

personally I've never worried about such things, but some people take warranties very seriously..

- if you fill in your system specs fully, we would have a better idea of what your current system will take..

- some of the more advanced cards may well need a beefier PSU, for example..

uhm, I'm pretty sure I have bad news.
Had a look at the service manual, and your machine does not support any other graphic card (mainly because it has no "card", everything is integrated in the motherboard).

Laptops of your model can be ordered with an optional though, an AMD Radeon HD 6470M discrete graphics with 512MB of dedicated memory. Did you ask for this when you bought it? Otherwise it is a standard model with simple graphics.

If you want to upgrade graphics performance, you must buy a computer with a better card. It is actually the norm for laptops.

Hello I did look through similar threads on this site first but the most recent one I found was more than a year old so I decided to create a new Post We have a year old Dell Inspiron MT Just purely because of its age I am about to put in a new Hard Drive amp while doing this I thought to upgrade replace the dedicated Graphics card At the Moment there is a MB NVIDIA GeForce G card in there The Computer is used mainly for business so no gaming stress on it The Card handles two Monitors both Dell FP with a resolution of x At the moment one is on the DVI one on the VGA but I would like to make both DVI to quot Future Proof quot 580 Graphics Dell on Card Upgrade MT Inspiron if we replace the Monitors with larger Higher resolution ones What would be a sensible upgrade Graphics Card I would like to find one that would not require a PSU upgrade as well CPU is an Intel Core i Processor GHz MB GB of RAM onboard Any suggestions much appreciated -

A:Upgrade Graphics Card on Dell Inspiron 580 MT

Hi Eving Traveller
Thanks for writing to us.
Below are few other graphics card which are compatible with your system.
nVidia GT220 1GB
nVidia M207 1GB
AMD Radeon HD 5670 1GB
AMD Radeon HD 5450, 1G
You can look for the ports specifications on the vendor website, before you decide on one.
The machine goes with only 300w PSU, so you need not worry about changing the PSU.

Hi, hopefully someone here can help me! I've recently bought a new monitor, dell S2309W, but unfortunately I can't get the resolution on my computer so I'm stuck with a super stretched screen. Pretty annoying. After looking through lots of forums and the dell site it seems I might just need a new graphics card as the inbuilt one possibly can't support the required resolution (1920x1080), I'm stuck on 1280x1024 which is the maximum. I've found out the computer, a dell dimension 3000, only has PCI slots, no PCI-E or AGP, so I'm quite limited on what graphics card I can get.

Does anyone have any recommendations on what will fix my monitor resolution problem?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Cheers.

A:Graphics Card Situation on Dell Laptop

While at 3670 isn't great, its not horrible... Saddly you have no upgrade options really. 90% of laptops have the gpu built/soddered on to the mainboard.

Have you monitored you gpu temperature? I like using hwmonitor to watch things as it shows everything at once.

I've had this issue with my 9600m gt, that after abit of use, it'll start to lag bad.. A thorough cleaning helped alot.

I'm having trouble removing the graphics card from my computer. I was told to push down on a blue plastic device which will help remove the card. Nothing happens when I move the plastic device that looks like a 7.
Any ideas?
Thank you
Harriet

A:removing graphics card from Dell Dimension XPS

If it is what I'm thinking it is, you have to not only push the clip thing, but at the same time, while pushing hard enough so that the clip is completely out of the way of the thing it hooks on to (careful, not too hard or it will break), pull up on the graphics card. Make sure you have already unscrewed the screws, etc. to attach it to the case. Also try to hold the card by non-circuit areas in case your hands are sweaty or if you have static electricity (don't wear rubber footwear on a carpet or polyester clothing while working with circuit boards), and make sure the power to the case is off.

I have a Dell Inspiron 530 with a Dell 0FM586 motherboard, Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 2.4GHz, 3MB memory. I'm currently using the integrated graphics, but I'd like to upgrade to the Nvidia XFX GeForce 9600 GSO video card. So, I have two questions:
I will also have to replace my existing 350-watt power supply. Can you recommend a reliable, affordable power supply in the 550-watt range? (I already bought the Rocketfish RF-550WPS. Will it be sufficient?)Has anyone had any experience with this setup (a Dell Inspiron 530 with an Nvidia XFX GeForce 9600 GSO video card)? They are compatible, correct?I used to build my own computers, but it's been a while and technology has come a long way since then. I don't even know what Nvidia's SLI technology is, so I'm assuming that this is not an issue here....

Any light that anyone can shed on my concerns would be most greatly appreciated. Thanks for your help!

Dave

A:Upgrading Graphics Card in Dell Inspiron 530

Hi DMMoulton, welcome to the board.

As long as your board has a PCI exp 16 slot it will support the GPU. 550w PSU is quite sufficient for one 9600. Don't know much about if Rocketfish is a reliable brand though.

Computer now and then is basically the same in principle.

Enjoy,

Bruce

Hello,
My graphics card on my Dell Inspiron 8200 has died. Yes, the laptop is seven years old, but it out performs all the new laptops at work, so I'm sticking with it. (It might be because work won't allow any operating systems other than Win XP that I gives me the advantage - don't know) The invoice says that the card was a "32MB DDR 4X AGP nVidia GeForce4 440 Go". There are plenty of these cards around. Just wondering if I can stick anything better or new in, but I don't know what will fit. Found the install picture at http://support.dell.com/support/edocs/systems/ins8200/en/sm_en/vidbd.htm#1084976
Value your thoughts. Many thanks in advance.

A:Graphics Card Dell Inspiron 8200

I could be wrong, but I don't think there are many other graphics cards that would fit your laptop, being the removable graphics cards for laptops are rare..

If you can find a Radeon 9000, it will work, that's about all that I know of.

Hey there, I'm currently running a crappy 256MB GeForce 8600 GT, it runs pretty well but it's 3 years, almost 4 years old, and new games aren't running as fresh as I'd like..

I'm considering upgrading to a new Palit GTS 450 SONIC OC 1024MB card

Just wondering if anyone can tell me if it will actually be able to run on the stock rig

Can someone show me a diagram of how to attach a 6 pin connector to wherever it goes so I can see if it will all go smooth before I purchase it?

4GB Ram, 3.0GHz Core 2 Duo already upgraded, so please don't say bottleneck is imminent!

I believe the powerSupply on that model would be the question.......does it have enough power to run that V card correctly?

Amazon.com: HIS Radeon HD 6670 1GB (128bit) GDDR5 HDMI DVI-D (HDCP) VGA PCI Express X16 2.1 Low Profile Graphics Cards H667FN1G: Computers & Accessories

On this site it says that the card and computer only used 200 watts durring testing

A:New Graphics Card For Dell Inspiron 580s

The card should fit no problem. The power supply on the other hand may not be up to it. The HD 6670 isn't necessarily a power hungry card (average around 67W at load) but if your Dell has the stock 300W power supply in it, it may not work.

Can you please tell me if you have suggestions for a graphics card and PSU combo

I bought a ATI Radeon 7000, installed it in my Dell Dimension 3000, and the PC won't boot. Any suggestions of what to do? Is the card not compatible?

A:Graphics card for Dell Dimension 3000

It has been a while since I had my hands in a Dimension 3000, but as I recall, that machine only will accept PCI graphics cards.
The ATI Radeon 7000 is/was an AGP card, designed for older MacIntosh AGP 4X boards.

Does your Dell have an AGP slot? Or is my memory fading.
