Q: Burn Disc Error

Hi,
I am having a problem with my DVD hardware. Every time I put a disc in and open it in Explorer I get I a popup asking me to burn a disc (image file attached). I've tried going through all kinds of settings but nothing works. I am running Windows 8.1. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Preferred Solution: Burn Disc Error

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/directdownload.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

DVD burners are very picky about which specific brand of media they will write and read. Google around for your drive and see if people have had similar issues or success with whatever brand of media you are using.

A:Could not perform start of Disc-at-once/ Session Fixation Error/ Burn process failed

I guess nobody is there to help me...
Still let me put some more info in case somebody does want to help.

1st I got my DVD replaced by Dell today. Then I burnt one DL DVD 8.5 GB disc with 7.48 data using default Windows 7. Worked fine.

2nd time I burnt 2.2 gb data into a DL DVD (8.5 GB) Disc using Nero Multimedia Suite 10 and multisession mode and then one file again in second session and both worked fine.

Thereafter I okayed the engineer who came and replaced my DVD drive. And OUCH!

After that I am again unable to burn discs. And this time I have been trying with smaller DISCs 4.7 GB ones. 6 times I tried. 4 times it gave me invalid block address error. Did a google to see that kaspersky may give problem. That is what goodle search got me. I switched off kaspersky and got burn successfully but during data verification I got data verification error. And it is true. The data did not get written properly (some of the files are corrupt- I play those file - they are MP3 files- and only part of the songs play- btw I burnt them in data mode so that is not the issue here)

And I don't know if kaspersky was the issue in burning the data since with kaspersky turned on I got data verification error once before. So out of total 6 tries I got data verification error two times and 4 times burn process failure

The logs are below one after another. Can anybody please guide? How many more DVDs do I waste before I get to the solution? And now I have a Brand New DVD writer installed in my laptop DELL XPS 14!!

I have tried a few applications to burn MP3's onto CD's to play in my DVD player (which supports MP3 discs), but I have very bad luck with the process. I'm able to jam a hundred songs on a disc and it burns it fine but I can't get it to play in any DVD players that say they support MP3 CD's.
I got it to work once and it was pretty cool, allowed me to browse through the folders I had the different songs in, but that disc rarely works and now I can't get one to work.
Any suggestions on disc maker, program, or process?
Thanks,

I was asked to do the video for a local workshop; my job was to record, edit, burn, and distribute to the participants. The woman running it sent me the DVDs she wanted the video to be put on.

I'm pretty sure the DVDs came with a physical DRM already on them; I can see a stripe burned on each one. None of my programs even recognize them as writable discs. Is there a special program I can use to write to these (preferably one that doesn't cost a fortune)?

A:Trying to burn to a disc with DRM already on it

Not sure I understand you exactly but ..

Blank Discs do not have any form of DRM. DRM will only be found on commercial DVD videos.

If they are re-writeable, you may need to erase the disc first if it already contains content. But, again, there should be no DRM.

It could be a issue that your DVD/Bluray burner doesnt like the particular brand of media.

OK, well I have a movie that I need to burn onto a disc. Two movies actually, but the thing is, I burned one movie onto a TDK DVD+R disc, and it worked fine. But the second movie I need to burn, I used a disc called memorex DVD+RDL. And the problem is that the burning process doesn't work on this disc.

I tried to burn a movie, and when it got to 99.9 %, it gave me an error(yes, it was very frustrating, I was about to go punch the wall). The error just said that there is an error. I tried to burn the first movie I burned on a new memorex blank disc but the same thing happened.

So, did I buy a bad disc or something? Or is there a certain program I need to use with this type of disc. I used the Windows DVD maker by the way.

A:Won't burn onto disc

Have you had this issue before with Memorex on this burner? For some reason certain burners don't do well with certain brands of disks.

I had a burner that loved Imation but did not burn with Memorex. But now I have burners that do excellent with Memorex.

I have a Sony CD player that plays burned Memorex without a hitch but will not play of all things a Sony burned CD. Talk about your irony.

It is like anything concerning PC tech, et.al: There are quirks everywhere including burners and CD/DVD blank disks.

Hello, I burned a successful ISO with windows and it verified but I often read that Image burn is the way to go with ISO burns, should I burn one with that software as well and is there any difference?

Thank you

A:Disc image with windows or should i burn with with image burn.

ImgBurn is a high quality program, but the larger point is whether or not the ISO burned with Windows will do what you want it to do. If yes, I'd probably just go with it, although there's no reason not to have a duplicate copy if it's really important stuff.

I wouldn't rely on "verification". If you want to know if it works, try using it for its intended purpose, whatever that is.

Hi
I have not very critical problem but very keen to resolve it. When using Vista write do disc option and successfully writing data on the disc system popup with window asking if I wish to write another disc with the same data. When checking the option to make another copy I put new clean disc (the same make like the previous one). After verification cd-drive open and asking for another disc. I have checked with another clean CD-Rom disc and effect is exactly the same. But when cancel this operation and just open cd-drive and use Burn to disc icon on the Explorer toolbar it works fine.
I would appreciate any suggestions or explanations why I can't perform burn to disc another copy.

Hello, I need some help on this one. What I want to do is take a signal from an actual sound board (analogue wave i would guess), and record it to a disc. What would be the best method and programs for this. Should I save as a wave file? Then convert to mp3? Not sure how to tackle this one. Any suggestions on the best method would be appreciated. Looking for the quickest, and most economical way of doing it. If there is a digital output on the sound board would that make things easier? All i have is a line input on a computer to work with and a USB port. Hard drive space is limited. ???

can i use my cd burner to make dvd's, or do i have to buy a dvd burner?

A:how to burn movies on to a disc

A DVD burner can burn CD's, but a CD burner can't burn DVD's, so yes you need to get a DVD burner.

A CD/DVD-ROM combo drive won't work either because they can read DVD's but they can't burn them.

I've got a Lite-On DVD burner, it's been very reliable until now. It appears to read discs fine, but when I burn it tends to fail at a random point in the burn. I can burn the same project and it'll fail at different points although there is no actual fail message, it just does not progress even though the drive is spinning constantly and doesn't stop spinning when I cancel the burn. I've used the CDBurnerXP and Nero and gotten the same results. It appears to be a hardware problem, but I'm in denial. The only other thing I can think of is the SATA cable, but it should be fine. Any thoughts?

A:Disc Burn Failures

Everything I can think of seems fairly obvious, but I'll give them a shot. Are you writing at the lowest possible burn speed? Have you tired reseating the drive (disconnecting both cable from it and reconnecting them)? When did the problem begin?

A:burn the disc in ISO mode

Launch Nero SmartStart, Select your disc type - cd or dvd . Click on the Copy & Backup button . Select Burn Image To Disc . Should be plain sailing from there ....

You can also use Nero BurningRom . I dont recall exactly what you need to click on but am pretty sure it's reasonably straightforward .....

Whenever I try to burn things to a disc (like Debian GNU Linux), it always gives me and error and will fail to burn. For example, EVERYTHING that I try to burn with PowerISO stops at 66%. With other burners, it goes for like 10 seconds and then fails to burn. With another one, it doesn't start at all. I have literally tried 10 different burners, all of which don't work. My CD-ROM is CD-R/CD-RW and I am putting a blank CD that i got for christmas (got a bunch of those) that is 700mb. I also checked to see if the CD-ROM wasn't connected properly, and it was. The lens wasn't damage either (at all). What is the problem? I really want to burn Debian GNU Linux, because I'm reformatting my comp anyways to put that on (with windows 2000 sp4, which i already have anyways)

Even with over-burn you still won't get it to work right. You need to buy the DL (dual layer DVD disc which handles 8.5GB. Regular DVD holds 4.7GB. Does your DVD player support DL?

I have a few sets of mp3 files I want to burn to disc. I highlight them in Windows 7 Explorer window and click Burn at the top. Now, "you have files waiting to be burned to disc", without a clue as how to proceed.
Somehow I got to Windows Media player and it started burning - but it was the wrong files. I couldn't stop it, couldn't cancel it, couldn't open the cd drawer. The two files that were burned to disc do in fact play in my car cd player, which is what I want them for.
Later, I  dragged these files to the Burn list in Media Player...I don't know what happened...files got renamed, it somehow created a jumbled list that I don't know where it came from...
How to get the right files to burn?

I have been trying to burn a CD using either NERO and Windows Media Player. Both softwares will tell me that the CD completed the burn process. When I check the CD there is nothing on it.

I think the software is working but the driver is not really burning the information onto the cd. I am using a Sony DVD RW DW-Q120A driver and Windows XP.

When I check the properties of the drive the pie chart is all blue and says it is full, however there is nothing in the temporary folder waiting to be burned.

I looked for and was unable to find an update for the Sony driver.

Does anyone have any suggestions for me? I am at my wits end and do not know where else to turn.

A music CDR is made for CD recorders in entertainment systems. There are fees paid to the recording industry for royalties that arenít required for computer based recorders. They are the same CDs but usually cost more. You can use either for music or data.

You should be recording as data. If you are set for track at once the CD will hold only 99 tracks regardless of how large they are. Set it for disc at once if you are filling the CD.

Last week I burned some files to a CD, using the Burn command at the top of the folder that contains the files to be burned. They are in the Documents folder on the C drive.

Now, every time I boot my PC a message pops up on the task bar saying that I have files to be burned. It says click on the message to see the files. When I click on it, it opens a DVD that I have in the drive that I burned them to. I keep the DVD in the drive to save files that I want to keep. I sometimes add files to the DVD. When the DVD opens, it show all the files on it. The files that I burned to the CD are not on the DVD that is now in the drive.

How can I cancel the burn, to stop the pop up from occurring?

A:Burn a video file to VCD disc

It's been a while since I messed around with Video CD's.  If that is what you are trying to do, the video has to be encoded in the correct format for VCD which is a specific type of MPEG-1. I used to use software called TMPGEnc to do this.  And you have to use burning software that supports the VCD format, such as Nero.  There is a bit more info on the VCD format here.

A:dvd disc wont read to burn

Hi mariaw2011, and welcome to TSG.

Have you ever been able to successfully burn DVD+R disc with this particular computer and burner set-up?

If so, were you ever able to successfully burn a DVD+R disc from the package of discs that is now giving you a problem?

What is the brand and model number of the burner?

Some possible causes of the problem may be that you have an older drive and you have a newer, faster blank disc that it can't handle, or the DVD portion of the drive has gone bad. Separate laser pickups are used for CDs and DVD and the DVD one could have failed on your unit.

Hello all. After several hours, I've had to give up with this problem.

I have a movie file of type .UIF

After extracting it, I tried to use MagicISO to convert it to an .iso image file for burning to disc. Clicking 'File' - 'Save to...' - I managed to get this .UIF file to show up as an .iso file.

I then opened my DeepBurner, and clicked "Burn ISO image" ... and imported the .iso image file. Clicked "BURN".

All went well... the DVD-R disc was ejected, with a notice saying 'successful burn'.

But the disc won't play in my PC or in my standalone DVD Player.

I've tried ConvertXtoDVD... it won't do the job.

I'm stumped.

Thanks for any help

A:How do I burn to disc a .UIF image file?

.UIF - Magic ISO Universal Image Format FileMagicISO is a CD/DVD image file creating / editing / extracting tool. It can open / create / edit / extract CD/DVD image files, and it can convert bin to iso and back. Universal Image Format (UIF) is a compression image file format for backing up CD/DVDs. MagicISO has a freeware program called MagicDisk that can open UIF files on Windows computers. For the Mac, you have to convert the file to ISO format and the tool UIF2ISO promises to do that by simply dropping the UIF file onto the tool. Once converted, the file can be opened or burned. .....Quoted from:FILExt - The File Extension SourceMagicISO Inc.

Hi, I'm back! I wonder if anyone can help me with this problem I've got.

I've got some MPEG files of VHS tapes which I've got on my PC using my VHS to PC converter I've got. Do I need DVD burning software or something?

Thanks.

I haven't used Nero 7, I stuck with 6. Enable multisession sounds like the option to create/start a multisession disc. Is there a 'continue multisession' option in Nero 7? That would have been the option to use to add to an already started multisession disc.
Multisession burning is not the most reliable way to back up important data - as you are finding out. I would not continue with it if you value your data.
About your current problem, it would help if we knew what recovery programmes you have tried so far?

The filenames with the tilde are known as "short filenames." It looks like the file system type for the disc has gotten changed to ISO without the long filename support. Try imgburn freeware. In the file type settings it has check boxes for long filenames, directory depth etc..

hard drives don't burn discs or read them.

is it a dvd burner, cd burner?

you need to supply a bunch of detail before you can get an answer.
drive model, operating system

when it happens, how has worked before.

I have a new Asus laptop. When I went to burn recovery discs as advised, the instructions popping up on screen were not clear and I ended up moving the files to the temporary burn folder. Eventually I figured out how to proceed with the real burn and did end up with my recovery discs, however I still have the files in temporary burn and am being notified about them every time I turn on my computer. I'm scared if I remove them I will be deleting the actual recovery files.
Any reassurance would be appreciated!

A:Folders burned to recovery disc are still in burn folder

as far as I know, they aare just links to the original files. no harm of deleting them. if you're not sure wait for another one to confirm and do some googling. cheers!

So, I haven't had any problems before, but now I just don't know what's happening. Let's say I take a few songs and try to burn them onto a blank Memorex CD-R disc. Once all files were burned to the disc, I could listen to it anywhere. But now, I can't unless the radio/CD player has the MP3 capability. On my old boombox, it skips the songs, until it just stops. But when I put the CD onto a computer or my dad's CD player, it works fine. How can I make it work everywhere else?

By the way, didn't know where exactly to post this, which is why I posted it here.

A:Burn Process Failed using Nero 7 with double layer disc

It's not much, but it's all I got......

In Nero Recode under "more" > then "configure" in the first panel there's a check box for "remove layer break". I don't know if this matters. It seems like it could have an adverse effect on dual layer burning. It's probably not that simple but like I said, it's all I got. Can the file be burned to a VIDEO_TS folder without a problem? (only relevant if you're coding from another file type).

A:Media center wont burn recorded tv to video disc

Hello rmths,
Found this, i am not into burning discs but this may point you in the right direction.
Hope it helps. Good luck and post your results, thanks.

In Media Center, you can only create a video DVD by using a recorded TV show when the broadcast type matches the region that you have selected in Media Center.

Also have you looked at your codec pack ?.

Is it safe to burn a W7 installation ISO image using the 'exact copy' option, meaning making an exact duplicate from an already existing CD. Or is it safer to burn a CD from the original ISO file? Wouldn't the 'exact copy' option have higher chances for data corruption, especially since it is a boot/installation CD?

A:Is it safe to Burn an exact copy of Windows 7 Installation Disc

I'm not sure of your questions. The official .iso file is an exact copy of the disc in file form. Whether you copy the original disc or make a disc from the original .iso file, you should end up with the same thing. I'd probably opt for the .iso file, because the burn would go faster, but that's the only difference.

I captured a video file with a one touch video software. The video and audio on the file came out fine but the audio is not synced properly with the video. I then accessed the video file on my computer with the VCL player and was able to adjust the audio to sync properly with the video where they are now both in sync.

I would like to save this synced file on the VCL player program to my computer and then burn it to disc. Can anyone offer me suggestions on how to do this properly?

Also, can anyone suggest a real good software program that will sync the audio with the video on an unsynced video file with just one easy procedure? Thanks.

I video taped a wedding and created a movie on iMovie on my Mac computer. I then tried to export it onto a DVD+R and my DVD player gave me the message: Disc Error, The Playback Feature may not be available on this disc, Press OK to eject the disc. I then called apple they told me to get an app to create a DVD. I got 1DVD Creator and put my movie on it and then tried to put it onto the DVD+R and it did the same thing. When It came off of iMovie it was exported as a MPEG-4. Please help me I need to get this movie to the customer ASAP. Thanks for all of your help!

A:Disc Error, The Playback Feature may not be available on this disc...

I don't use a Mac, but the output should not be mp4. In the tool, select create video DVD or export as video DVD.

You should see two folders created, audio_ts and video_ts.

Hello,
I am suddenly unable to burn audio CD's or data CD's. I burned 6 last week with no problem.

I use Windows Media Player, and the CD-ROM drive came with the computer (E-Machines).

When I click "BURN" a box pops up with "please insert a blank disc." The disc is blank, and I have tried several different ones. When I look under "properties" of the drive, it shows all the space "used" (the circle is all blue) but used space is 0 bytes, and available space is 0 bytes.

I tried to drag and drop, also, to make a data disc, but that would not work, either - same message "please insert a blank disc"
I've tried playing other CD's in the drive, and they all work fine.

It just won't recognize blank discs
Please Help!

I want to write some dvd's on nero and img burn, but keep on getting the error power calibration area is full, can someone please help me?

A:img burn error

Provide the Nero burn/error log.

With that said, that error is generally media related. Typically the result of low quality or unsupported media. Try using a different brand/type of media. For best results and less hassle, only use a quality media. For SL DVD, use Verbatim or Taio Yuden. For DL DVD, use Verbatim. After you have consistent results with a quality media, you can experiment with other brands to see what works in your system.

Some things you can try:If you recently installed some burning software, uninstall it.Use the fix given on this Microsoft page.Use a different brand of CD/DVD.Clean the laser using one of those drive cleaning kits.Open the Device Manager (Start > Run > type "devmgmt.msc"). Locate the CD/DVD drive, right click on it and select "Uninstall". After it has uninstalled reboot the computer (it will be automatically reinstalled).

HP Pavilion. Downloaded from phone pix of our vacation, edited in Picasa, ready to burn CD. Message: cannot find device driver. it is loaded. Checked Device Manager for Code 41 says error may be from hardware removal. We did install new gateway recently, but also had malware problems that may have left damage. In Device Manager I tried to update, and trouble shoot but nothing worked. I will try to save photos on memory stick and look for a clean computer to burn them. If a registry problem, solutions to Code 41 are too tricky for me - can I try to disable device (T SSTcorp CDW/DVD TS-H 492A is what shows up under device manager with a yellow dot)and download a free burner? Will a free burner work if it is a registry problem? Will an external burner connected by cable work? Any info/advice appreciated - nontech person here who just wants all those beautiful vacation pictures. Thanks.

Regardless if you own it or not, it's illegal to break the copy protection of DVD's under the DMCA, and also against the TSG Rules to assist in this activity.

I have burned CD's and DVDs before no problem. Now I get a window 'Error - there was a problem burning this disc' after maybe 2 minutes of building the image file. Using the built in burn appl in 7 Pro. (I'll try another appl if I can't solve this.)

DVD +R disc is fine, doesn't begin to even burn. Can't be hardware because it's worked fine before. Can't be intermittent as I haven't removed/touched any internals.

Tried making the pagefile larger, to match ram of 2GB ( min 2048, max 4000). Same. Lots of room on the hard drive. Can't believe it would be because data is 3.64 GB because 7 should just use the hard drive if it runs out of ram.

Thank you in advance.

Definitely try a different burner. ImgBurn or CDBurnerXP (ignore the XP part, it works on Win 7) are both good, free programs.

I have a toshiba satelite L45 running vista 32 bit with intel pentium dual cpu T2310 1.46ghz 1.47ghz

My problem is when I try to burn a iso file to a disk
I get error code 31094D-34-00000000

I am using toshiba disk creator and I have tried nero, and a few other of the free iso burners all with the same error message popping up.

Any ideals will be appreciated

A:Toshiba iso burn error

is this only when burning iso?

what about burning img, nrg, bin, data-cd or audio-cds??
