We are Dell resellers and had placed an order for 43 Laptops - Dell Latitude 3560 with Dell on 13th June, 2016. We delivered them to our customer on Friday 17th June, 2016. On Monday 20th June we discovered that all the Laptops are faulty and are not functioning properly. They have not been able to use a single system due to touchpad issues in the entire lot
We have made innumerable calls Dell to resolve the problem, but the team is unable to identify and rectify the problem. 
We have spoken to our partner account manager, regional account manager, Service Specialist and Escalation Team, requesting them to provide us with a solution at the earliest as their work is getting hampered. Our customer has to deploy the same by 1st July however they do not have any Dell Laptops functioning correctly.  
How do we escalate this to the Dell management and get a replacement ASAP

Started about a month ago - pops up over and over and over and over - about every five minutes or less.  I've got a Dell Studio XPS with Windows 7 Professional.  Another forum said to just uninstall Dell Support Center (Support Center Software) - but when I try to uninstall it - THE SAME STUPID WINDOW POPS UP ASKING ME TO INSERT THE SOFTWARE.  I tried doing a Browse and it's looking for DSC20.msi.  I haven't managed to find it yet.  I have at least found \Program Files(x86)\Dell Support Center but there's so many sub-directories...
I shouldn't have to be jumping through so many hoops just to uninstall a program.  This is driving me crazy and I haven't found an answer online yet.

This is a General question regarding the end of support for XP. I realise at the end date the computer should be backed up in case you have to format the disc at any time after the end of the support period.

My question is does the built in Windows back up in XP when backing up the system include the installed updates? Or is it best to use third party software to do this.

I believe Windows just backs up your personal files and won't do the entire OS. You'll need a 3rd party program to do the entire HDD.

Also you really should think about upgrading to Windows 7. Staying on XP after the end support date is not recommended as you will lose security updates from Microsoft as well as patches.

When I installed Win on one computer I need a H P printer driver So I went to H P support download did not find the needed driver so I called their Tech support A friendly support guy looked at my system and told me my copy of Microsoft Win bought at Best Buy was not India from support Scam Tech. bases. Support a legit Tech. Support Scam from India support bases. copy also my system Tech. Support Scam from India support bases. had been infected and they needed to remove my Win clean my system and reinstall Win made me a deal of a reduced price of US I knew this was not Tech. Support Scam from India support bases. right so I begged them good buy went to Best Buy where I have good friends in the Geek Squad they got the needed driver and printer works fine Today my Netgear routher died called Netgear to get my lifetime warranty This also was a support in India guy said it would cost US to make sure it was the router I said thanks but no thanks Took my old Netgear router back to Best Bye where I bought it three years ago and they gave me a new Netgear router I needed setup help so called Netger as new user also in India guy was friendly looked at my system and helped me get it setup Then he informed me my computer was under attack and my files were being read he could fix my system and protect my files for the small sum of just US Well I was using a small backup H P computer on the Net hardwired and it was almost never used So I knew it was a India Tech support scam again I think these guys in India do support for many Mfg s and software makers and it's an easy way to gleen a lot of fast cash from people who trust the brand name and don't understand a lot about their computers I just wonder how many new to computers and older people who know nothing are being ripped off by these East India robbers

Some how my old friend managed to upgrade my PC from Windows XP to Windows 7 with that chipset driver CD I gave him. I don't know how he did it. I would ask him but he moved to Germany. Anyway I've heard you can run the setup with Windwos Vista compatiblity mode but I don't know if it is safe. Anyone know?

Download the drivers from the manufacturers website. The driver CD is likely outdated anyway.

I think the revamped Support Assistant is brilliant - especially for drivers where it checks your PC, rather than give you a list of driver updates for your model, as the old website-based Driver Update checker did. It has an "Add a device" facility but it doesn't find my HP DCP_J315W printer, connected via wireless. Does Support Assistant support printers? edited 08:07: typo

hello to everyone im working as a tech support agent for one extra support in support of need tech of the biggest ISP in the US its a good paying job and also very challenging i use to troubleshoot internet connection issues for residential accounts pc only and for all other issues that i get i browse for similar issues on the forums of this site well most of them came pretty handy esp for the security forums tech support in need of extra support now i got transferred to the networking department and im in a total loss i can do simple troubleshooting and install assists for new networking users but i really need help in issues like remote access port forwarding invalid IP addresses on the wireless devices file and printer sharing i was browsing through all the topics but i cant find any if there is someone out there who can help me with this issue and give me some pointers on how i am going to do this in an easier way i would really appreciate any assistance thanks in advance foxxy nbsp

End of Support for AVG 6.0
Grisoft announces the end of support for AVG version 6.0 effective on December 31, 2004 for technical reasons. This version has been available since 1999. It's structure does not allow for further improvements planned for version 7 nor improvements of detection techniques expected to come in the future.

End of support means we will no longer provide program updates or Virus Database updates for version 6.0 and therefore, within days, this version will not protect against new virus outbreaks!

While trying to fix my computer these last few weeks with the help and support I received here I have a question but I don't know if it has merit I seem to remember somewhere along in through the many postings someone said something about being unsupported and I believe that my pc may be just that After running D Ban I knew I would be destroying my windows But I was led to Support/Non-Support believe I think that I could get everything back to the way it was before by having my digit code that referenced my copy of windows Since then I have never been asked or directed to enter this number anywhere Support/Non-Support I think in my head that I am unsupported because when I am asked by windows or Dell i can't remember which at this time do I want to search for the drivers I need to download and it comes back unable to do this And the same if I choose to upgrade a driver too I have Internet connection so it is not that Can I enter my digit number in to my computer some way or some how and be supported or am not right about any of thiis My reason for thinking this is every time I go back to a restore point I have to download all my drivers manually it seems they should be there to install just by saing yes I want to install my drivers I also have a disk of utilities and drivers the only disc that came with my computer but it seems my pc will not download my drivers from this disk Do I have to set it up in Bios to have this disk to open and install every time I put the disk in thinking I could get drivers to install off of it it did not respond or seem to work I think maybe because of this unsupportive ness my computer to me seems to be the only words I think of is frail or susceptible Hopefully this is a non issue and it is all in my head I need a computer psychologist for this So if the doctors in I would like to make an appointment

The 25 digit number referred to would be your product key which you would have entered when you installed Windows. Windows then activates it online. It usually takes about 30 days to activate. If it's been longer and Windows hasn't told you there was a problem with activation you should be fine there. From my experience it isn't uncommon for drivers to fail to install properly. The drivers on the disk are probably outdated. I'd suggest going to the manufacturer's webpage for your MB, and other devises and download the newest copies. It would also be a good idea to go into Device Manager in the Control panel and uninstall the old drivers before installing the new to prevent conflicts. can anyone help me with this one please. When i try to access help and support on a friends pc, the egg timer comes on and flashes back off. Tried reinstalling from the xp cd and it tells me it has been installed but the same thing happens.

Iv'e used a couple of programs to hide my IP.One was IP.Hider,the other, Ivisible Browsing.I found that none of them were much use to me as i couldn't view web pages,or if one came up,it was an error something about codeen.Itried different IP.Addresses but they wern't much use.My question,is their a good one out their that works well or is their other security measurses i can take to hide my IP.

I have read that with the end of MS support for W XP, that XP users will be vulnerable to hackers. I have switched over to a Mac but still occasionally use my XP computer for several programs that will not run with my Mac [CADD6 & a Greeting Card program] My question is this: If I disconnect my XP computers from the internet, will they then be safe from hackers?

I have just built a new computer using Vista Ultimate x64 and a single GTX 280 on a 790i motherboard. I play Everquest a lot and find that when I try to load it I get a message that no 3D devices found. Going into dxdiag I discover that there are no DirectX features available. I am using nVidia driver 7741. I had to also download directx 9 to run the game. What can I do to get 3D support? My device manager recognizes my card. I'm lost here.

OK, I have a user that has deleted every device under USB as a fix to his thumb drives not being recognized. Normally the drivers would reinstall themselves with the next reboot, but he also has installed CA Security Suite and some apps from Advanced System Care (registry cleaner) and god knows what else. I believe that one of these apps are keeping the OS from installing device drivers. I cannot uninstall the apps in Safe or Normal mode with no keyboard or mouse support. System restore points also make no difference. I have also looked at using wmic to uninstall from the command line, but apparently it does not work in W7 Home premium. Any other things to try would be appreciated. Maybe a DOS based registry edit to clear out the startup processes.

It's been quite some time since I've last posted with some technical problems. Generally I can fix them, but this time I'm requesting information.

1x 640GB
2x 1TB
1x 160GB

I want to replace the 500GB & 640GB, eventually the 1TB drives with 3TB Drives.

Here's my question:

Since 6TB Drives (6TB Drive - NewEgg) are so new, are there ANY Hardware specs that I need to look for? I had issues with a 4TB Drive, and Windows was splitting the drive into 2 drives, when it was only 1. But that was a Mobo related issue.

As any hardware the 6 TB hard drives have technical support, for any assistance you could always contact the certain manufacturer, in this case WD:
WD Support

These drives are not with any more different specs than other hard drives. Though, here, saying that the more space there is, the more it's filled, the more it should be kept safe, applies.
You plug in the drive, your PC should recognize it full 6 TB, all as one drive as it is, and you continue on partitioning and formatting; just don't forget to format it in NTFS, so that you don't have problems.

I have an HP Win 7 w/32 bits, when I bought the computer , if I had a problem, I would go to the built-in help and support app to try and figure out the problem. Now for some strange reason, when I click on it, it says "can not open", any suggestions?? And by the way, Windows help and support forums and tech help, didn't.

Hi there, a friend of mine is having problems with hes dedicated seedbox, that he himselfe runs, for some reason, hes FXP/FTP transfers from FTP site, to box, cant get over 3,5MB/S, but if he Transfers from the same FTP site, to a diffrent box, the speeds runs up to 80MB/S , so there is some settings there, thats wrong... but he cant seem to find out, i was wondering if anyone here had experience with setting up FXP and so on? so i can forward you to him, if you dont mind helping?

My internet provider just changed to McAfee security which I downloaded. Ever since then, I can't open IE without going through either1) unpluging the modem, router then restarting the computer or 2) going through windows network diagnostics which comes up with "reset local area connection adaptor..doesn't have a valid IP configeration". It says it is fixed but the next time I open IE, the same thing happens. Any idea how to fix this?

GO into the Mcafee's firewall settings and have it allow IE9.

My query is as to the service policy. My computer has a non working keyboard, and is out of warranty.  I am willing to pay for the repair.  However the HP support staff in Hong Kong (yesterday) refused to give me even an idea of the cost of this unless I take the machine in - oh and pay a HK$700 inspection fee.  Which will not be credited against the repair cost. More annoying is the fact that the service officer - Mr Kelvin Lai refused to call me back to discuss, and refused to give a working phone number. After 3 years the machine is unusable.  But it is in better condition than the HP "support service". Never again

I just purchased an ACER with windows 7. It's a 64 bit machine and I need to connect it to my Minolta QMS magicolor 2200 Desklaser. My 2200 works fine with my Toshiba laptop which is running XP. I have contacted Minolta and there is no 64 bit driver planned.

Does anyone know of a 32 bit emulator that I can run under Windows 7 that will let me continue to use this wonderful printer?

There isn't any sort of emulator. You are prettymuch stuck; I've had to do a lot of research on that issue and that's just the way MS made Vista/7 x64 work. It will be nice in 10 years when most everything is 64-bit, but sure isn't now.

Have you been able to make it work by just connecting it to your Acer without trying to install drivers from the manufacturer's disk?

If you connect it to your Toshiba and set it up as a shared printer I may have a tip that will work for you. If that is something you wish to try let me know.

After completing the Win7 installation, (including all Drivers and Updates), did you carry out a Disc Clean Up and a Defrag of the HDD?

Windows? (all versions) by its very nature is extremely lazy when it comes to installations; it always leaves 'junk' and temporary files on the computer; these can be the main culprit of the cause of 'slow' operating.

Your Lenovo? Z570 does support Windows?7.
Carry out the suggested tasks and post back with the results.

I was given a new MacBook Pro from my wife.

I have been able to use Vista x64 by using Boot Camp. But I had to partition my Mac drive to do it. What I would like to do if possible, is to remove the partition for Vista and have an external Boot to Vista by using the bootable FireWire 800 external drive. This would free up some space on my hard drive. My problem is I'm able to designate Vista to the external FireWire drive but the Vista installer won't allow installation on the drive because it is Firewire 800. I was wondering if I could possible use a driver for the Firewire 800 controller so Vista can use it. And if this is possible is there anywhere on the net to acquire such a driver for the Vista installer.

I hope there is such a thing, I can't seem to find one.

Sounds like a browser problem. Do you have any alternate browser like firefox, safari? Just to check if it's really IE8 problem.

You can try disabling your security software like antivirus/antispyware program then try to relaunch it.

You can also try optimizing your browser... go to Tools > internet options > then
delete cookies, temp files, history, restore advanced settings in advanced tab

last resort, uninstall IE8 and reinstall it.

I would like to Upgrade to a AMD Phenom X4 9850, with a 450W PSU, (Motherboards are practicably identical).

I already check the extreme PSU calculator but it said only about 275W which makes me a little bit skeptical. So what wold you say?

Under load, the Phenom uses 311 watts - 185 watts at idle. Add that to the 9500GT, and you may be over the limit.
But why do you want to "downgrade" from a 2.7GHz CPU to a 2.5GHz CPU. Don't expect too much from the 4 cores because most programs will not be using them. I am very disappointed with my quad processor. My slightly faster duo core is better.

It would be great if Windows 10 32-bit version supports more tan 3GB of RAM with the inclusion of PAE.

Some people that have Windows 7 32-bit PCs with more than 3GB of RAM, currently only can use all the RAM if they use a PAE patch to enable it...

When the time to upgrade to Windows 10 comes, the ideal situation would be to be able to upgrade directly to the 64bit version, but it seems that 32bit-to-64-bit upgrade won't be posible without a fresh install (would be great if the possibility is given)....

So the easy way for the owners of a Windows 7 32-bit PAE patched, would be offering a Windows 10 32-bit that supports more than 3GB of RAM....

I haven't heard or seen anything about Microsoft including a PAE Mode for Windows 10.

Honestly, no new machine should be running a 32bit OS. It's outdated and useless to most people.

Also, think about this...If Microsoft were to include a PAE Mode for Windows 10, why would anybody bother going to 64bit? The OEMs would save costs and buy only 32bit OSs.

I can no longer get to the help and support section from the start button. I have recently added AWC(Advanced Window Care) proffesional and have stopped some services from running, but none that said help and support that I remember. I get a message that says Windows cannot start Help and Support because a system service is not running. To fix this problem start the service " Help and Support" I can still get to the restore to an earlier state from the AWC program. Any help would be much appreciated.

Hello:

You can manually start and stop services using the Computer Management console.

What you want to do:
Start >> Right-click My Computer >> Select Manage
OR
Start >> Control Panel >> Administrative Tools >> Computer Management

This will bring up the Computer Management console.

You want to navigate to the Services and Applications node in the left hand pane. Click on the + sign to expand the node and select Services. Click on anything in the right hand pane and navigate to the Help and Support service. Under normal circumstances, this service is started automatically as a Local System service. Right-click it to bring up the shortcut menu and choose Properties.

Once you are in the Properties applet for the Help and Support service, check to see what the Startup type: pull-down menu shows. Most likely it is probably showing "manual". You can use the pull-down menu to change it to "automatic" and it will start up automatically when you restart your system - unless there is another program that is preventing this. What you are really most interested in doing is starting the service manually if it is not starting up.

Under Service Status you can click Start.

Post back if this does not work for you.

When I go to the start menu and prompt "Help and Support" nothing happens. I really don't know when this started because I really haven't had a need for this until recently, when I was having some issues with another computer I was working on at the time and needed to access Help and Support. Does any body out there have any ideas with what's going on and is there a way to find out if they can be found or will I have to maybe reload something from my XP disk?

As a new user of this group can anyone advise me how to recover the Help and Support in Windows XP. If I click on Help and Support in START all I get is a momentry flicker of the egg timer, then nothing. If I look for the Help and Support programme HelpCtr.Exe its there in RegEdit! Something must have disturbed the start process. Any advise would be most welcome.

I just want to say that yes I downloaded and installed IE8
It is a lot faster than 7. However the only issue I have is with display because it makes some buttons unreadable and moves certain items around, I would assume thats going to be fixed.

But your thread on here says contact support which I did and all they offered was to put it back to 7, they offered no support at all

My hard drive HP Bad? So Why Support Is started giving me problems and trying to do a chkdsk returned that it could not do it nbsp Safe mode try and reboot returned Why Is HP Support So Bad? could not perform on RAW format drive how it was working at all I don't understand nbsp Tried running chkdsk R which brought a whole lot of index and recovery items and then froze on stage nbsp At that point I called technical support after searching onlone for half hour trying to get a number and was told I was out of warranty nbsp I do have an extended warranty that still has months left on it and was told it would not be honored until I find my email from HP with the number on it nbsp I purchased the laptop and the extened warranty directly from HP nbsp The support person would not even allow me to explain and was very rude nbsp I dug out nbsp warranty information and called support again nbsp This time I got a different person who went to her supervisor and clarified the warranty issue nbsp We restarted into diagnostics and the quick test on the drive passed nbsp Trying to restart again the computer went into wanting to restore nbsp Instead of doing the restore I wanted to try to get any data I could off the drive and support said they would call me back at PM nbsp At PM the original support called and told me he called early because it was AM the next day where he was and he was tired nbsp Since I was not done with the backup and he was off the next day he determined that he would call me back on the day after Monday here which I would not be available nbsp So he said the earliest it could be handled would be Tuesday then days to deal with a broken hard drive under warranty nbsp II finally got the drive backed up using another system and external adapter and tried to do the recovery nbsp At that time the screen came up with Unable to reset your PC A required partition is missing nbsp Patching together an old drive and disc set made from original install Computer manager showed the recovery partition to be just fine but the data partition would not show up as a drive letter nbsp I now am past support hours so I went into the chat option and explained the situation nbsp The response was so you want to purchase recovery media nbsp I then explained that I thought it was a stretch to have a defective drive and have to pay for recovery media nbsp I was then told to supply my infoprmation and recovery media would be sent to me not sure what that will fix on the hardware nbsp I was then told their system was down and it would be hours before they could enter the order nbsp So now I have to wait three days or so to get a set of discs that will fail because the drive is bad nbsp Then I guess I will have to run the gauntlet again to try to get a new drive and wait longer nbsp I'll probably end up having to just purchase a new drive and use my original backup to reinstall nbsp Seems like I wasted my money on the extended warranty

I need some clarification

I have a spare T9900 processor that i would like to put into it. which is also a P socket.. but i want clear Clarification on whether or not it will fit & work.
this is all sans heat or anything else.. this laptop is old, and if it dies i wont be sad...

The XP "Help & Support" Question mark after start, does not work. It may the result of a damaged registry key, as I have done system restore and find PCHealth in the registry but the "value is not set." Clicking on the Help & Support icon produces nothing; the mouse pointer simply sits there, and nothing happens. I have searched the web for various solutions, but find they either don't work or they go too deep in the registry that I am afraid to use them. I also cannot get SFC /Scannow either. If I use the XP disc, cold install, will I lose all my settings? The "services.msc" menu shows PCHealth on automatic and started. I would list the problem under "minor, but annoying," as opposed to "major and panic." Thanks for any help.

I purchased a Gateway Computer with media center.
I used file and transfer wizard for my files. It also brought the Compaq Help and support Center with it. How do I get rid of Compaq Help and get back to Gateway Help without starting over as Gateway suggested?

Working on my Father in laws' computer, and for an unknown reason, his Help and Support feature quit working. I have gone into the registry, and I find the command line there, the Helpctr.exe file is in the Windows directory where it is supposed to be, and I have gone into Services.msc and attempted to enable any possible program that may have been affecting it. Anyone have another possibility? Everything else seems to work fine, except that the Remote Assistance does not connect, but it appears to be related to this Windows Help feature that appears to be disabled.

I very recently purchased this product to replace my aging HP s f slimline nbsp The new system has the th gen i - core CPU and GB RAM nbsp My old one has a core CPU and GB RAM so I figured the new one would be blazingly faster The new one came with Windows installed but me will..... Support - someone perhaps won't Since help here HP that was fine because I had been running Windows for a year on the old one quite successfully nbsp But much to my surpise the new one ran and Since HP Support won't help me - perhaps someone here will..... runs like a snail Since HP Support won't help me - perhaps someone here will..... in Alaska in the wintertime nbsp We're talking clicking on the file-explorer icon and waiting easily - SECONDS to get the first screen displayed nbsp And everything I tried was the same nbsp Very shortly after setting this system up M released their annivesary update which I applied nbsp If anything it ran even slower nbsp Because i do programming fo a living I was forced Since HP Support won't help me - perhaps someone here will..... to continue to use my older HP for my projects while still reseaching the slowness of the new one nbsp Research showed that M has many compaints of slowness and last week they release an emergency fix to supposedly correct this nbsp Again nothing improved nbsp So my only option is was to install Windows from my Windows Ultimate x DVD nbsp I changed my UEFI to legacy to support booting from a DVD and restarting nbsp I am given the option to boot from DVD and the Windows setup program begins nbsp And the very first prompt that appears is the End User License Agreement EULA which one MUST check and click the NEXT button to proceed nbsp But wait nbsp My USB keyboard and mouse DO NOT WORK nbsp Research shows that the Windows DVD does not contain the drivers compatible with the new Sky something system nbsp So I cannot agree to continue nbsp In fact the only option available is to physically shut off the machine nbsp Get the picture nbsp So I'm hoping that someone may be aware of how one may be able to resolve this or circumvent the issue in a practical manner I could customize my own Windows DVD but that's not really practical So I'be be very interested to see if anyone can help Thanks for reading and honestly I don't expect any practical answers nbsp And if I do I will be exceptionally grateful nbsp Disgruntled long time HP desktop laptop server customer l

Microsoft made 'em do it: The latest Kaby Lake, Zen chips will support only Windows 10

I dont understand how you can make a cpu * only* for 1 operating system can anyone explain this to me please

They make the CPU how they want, then only release supporting drivers for new versions of Windows. People will likely find some workarounds to keep dragging Windows 7 through the year 2017 and beyond

HI this may be a rookie Q.
I have HP W2072a monitor which I took just as a temp monitor.
I need a new monitor for:
1) watching Video lectures all day for now n movies n game of thrones etc
2) I am also A die hard gamer so for HD MAX resolution gaming in the near future.

She has not been "ripped off" but has possibly bought an expensive service, assuming they do actually provide the service. Sales tactics and business ethic are a completely different subject.
 
Personally, I am totally in support of start-up companies like this. Imagine if these people had turned their attentions to creating malware, and then your family encountered them. It could be a lot worse.

Does anyone know when Microsoft is going to quit supporting XP? I have heard that it is sometime this year. I have a system from late 2005 that has never been reformatted. It is running fine, but would it be advisable to reformat before they quit supporting the OS? If so, if I reformat, it basically puts everything back to day one which means that all my programs that I have loaded will need to be reloaded? Also, if I make a back up file of the system, can it simply be reloaded after a reformat?

Microsoft's website, mentions it for setting up a network printer. This so that I can get the right drivers for a 98se machine to print to my printer (on a xp pro machine)

I cannot access the Help and Support section under the Start menu. I have windows XP home edition with SP2. I have never had this problem before. When i double click Help and Support nothing happens. I checked in Services in the control panel and this service is set on automatic and is running.

Go to Start/Run and type in: helpctr -regserver
To reinstall Help and Support: Go to C:\Windows\inf\pchealth.inf. Right click and choose install. Have your CD handy.
Note: The folder is hidden by default. Go to Start/Run and type in: control folders. View: Show hidden files and folders and uncheck Hide extensions for known file types.

Folks I wonder if anyone can assist.
I am currently running Windows XP SP3 and have suddenly found that the usual START followed by ? Help and Support does not function. click on the icon and nothing happens.
Any idea what has happened or what parameter needs changing?
So far I have checked registry entry, services and all seems ok.
