I put in my new battery; it has had more than 48 hours to charge, but when I turn on the notebook, it trys to start, and then just shuts down before it boots up at all. I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.
I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.
You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/directdownload.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I had a problem similar a while back. Try this
1.Shut down the laptop
2.Take out the ac cord and the battery. Hold down the power for about 10 seconds to remove electric charge in the capacitors.
3.Put the battery back in and reboot.
4.Start windows normally, and See if the battery is recognized.
I recently purchased a used Ultra-slim Battery Not Working (Flashing LED) Battery EliteBook p and was disappointed at the battery life probably Ultra-slim Battery Not Working (Flashing Battery LED) due to years of use on the battery so I decided to buy an Ultra-slim battery to maximize my battery life Today it arrived in the mail and I plugged it in only to find it doesn't seem to work nbsp When I plug it in with the internal battery still installed the battery lightning bolt LED starts to flash amber and for the most part does not stop until I remove it In Windows the internal battery shows up as Battery and reports nothing installed for Battery nbsp If I only have the external battery installed the computer will not power on without the power adapter plugged in and the computer reports no batteries installed nbsp I have tried resetting the computer as instructed by another post on here unplug power and all batteries and hold the power button for seconds but that did not help nbsp I can't find any kind of battery diagnostic tests within BIOS settings so I'm not really sure if this is an issue with the computer or the battery I bought the battery used but the seller guaranteed nbsp it was tested and that it worked Do I need to use the docking station to charge it My guess is no since it has its own battery connection but I can't really find much information about it There is a button on the front of the battery with a battery icon on it but it doesn't seem to make any difference I've tried both tapping it and holding it downhttp://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Business-Notebooks/Ultra-slim-Battery-Not-Working-Flashing-Battery-LED/td-p/5739262

HiI want to purchase a new battery for my laptop, I've searched hp store but I can't find one suitable for my notebook. I want to know where I can find an original hp battery for my pavilion m7-1015dx?My battery part number is: 672412-001
HP Store only sells batteries for relatively new models. Where do you live (country)? I assure you the battery is available online from a supply house.Once we know where to look we can find you one.http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Hardware-and-Upgrade-Questions/How-to-buy-a-new-battery-for-my-Pavilion/td-p/5812064
Not a big problem but if could solve would be great. I need to run off AC since if I unplug the battery can't support. I know the battery is ok since I've tried a couple different batteries. Where is the next place to look? I'm willing to do some disassembly and I'm guessing its related to where the battery interfaces with the MB?
Just purchased HP - Pavilion x360 2-in-1 in December. When I plug the charger in the battery does not charge. Should I replace the battery or charger or both? Thanks!
Hi @vballsmithc , Thank you for visiting the HP Support Forums and Welcome. I have looked into your issue about your HP Pavilion 360 Notebook and issues with the battery and charging. Here is a link to test and calibrate the battery. Plug the power adapter directly into a functioning wall outlet. Do not plug it into a power strip, surge protector, or secondary power source as this could cause and issue. Here is a link to troubleshoot the AC power adapter. Please let me know the outcome of these test. I hope this helps. Thanks.http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Software-and-How-To-Questions/Battery-not-charging-on-HP-Pavilion/td-p/5007272

I came by a 'broken' Pavilion ze4500...fixed the monitor, but the battery is just not charging! Maybe it's shagged? Otherwise it's perfect! I heard something about putting the battery in the fridge/freezer...or is that an urban myth. Anyone know how to resurrect a battery or are these laptops prone to battery failure? Computer realises the battery's there
Not battery failure. The battery is probably just not holding charge anymore. With all rechargable devices, you can only charge and discharge a certain amount of times. Just like iPods, the battery gets weaker and weaker with each charge. Eventually the cells on the inside lose charge, you could plug in the ac adapter, wait for it to charge while its turned on, and unplug the ac adapter, the laptop will instantly shut off. Basically you need to buy a new battery once this starts happening.
Can someone please help Ive got a 9 month old Pavilion 15 and it wont start with or without the battery. Ive tried taking the battery out and holding the on button for 40 seconds to clear the residual power. i tried starting it up without the battery but the only thing that happens is the light next to the power inlet port blinks three times. Thanks Simonhttp://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Boot-and-Lockup/Pavilion-won-t-start-with-or-without-battery/td-p/5763209
Bought a brand new battery for my computer and installed it. Recently it has not been turning on all the time. Plug it in and it will charge, but there is a white x over the battery on the main screen, even though it says, "Battery fully charged". Tried to run the battery diagnostic but then it had to restart several times. Charging light blinks white too.http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Hardware-and-Upgrade-Questions/hp-pavilion-13-a010dx-x-over-battery/td-p/5738510
Hi team, My laptop has recently run out of battery and the charger is not working. I have read various forum posts about HPs not charging and the remedies for it. But the problem I am facing is that the laptop has run out of battery so I can't charge it up to solve the charging problem. The model is HP Pavilion G6-1241ea. I have recently updated to Windows 10 but not sure if 32 or 64-bit and can't check on the control panel. Anyone have any magical ideas?? i have a pavilion ze4200 laptop, the batter for it died fully, so bought a new battery. The battery happens to be compatible and it is for the same model. But the computer seems to use the power from the new battery but does not recharge it. now the battery is at 0%, and im running on ac power. i tried putting in the old battery, it charges but it then dies out in 20 sec. so the power cord works fine. Any thoughts???

The battery in my hp pavilion 4400 is drained. I plugged the computer into the AC adapter all night. In the morning, the battery is still drained and the computer will not turn on, even with the adapter plugged in. I'm thinking a bad AC adapter. Any thoughts? Also, if the adapter needs to be replaced, will an off brand less expensive adapter work, or should I stick with the hp brand?

Hi, I recently bought Pavilion 15-bc000nq and I have 2 questions for it:1) I will use this laptop specifically for Gaming thus keeping the power cord connected. That means the laptop knows when to change the battery (ac plugged off) and when to use ONLY the power cord (ac plugged on) ?2) This laptop has 4gb Ram...i want MORE...is it HARD to add more ram? I see only screws on the back and opening them means i loose warranty? Ty

Hello!Trying to understand the issue. After the battery replacement the laptop is not working properly when is not plugged?
I am an HP Employee!
I have a HP Pavilion g6-1117tx notebook (Win 7 Home Basic 64 bit, BIOS version-Insyde F.66 24.01.2013) purchased in Jul 11. For the last two months I have had the problem of "Plugged in Not charging" message, which has now turned to "No battery detected". I have tried all means including hard reset, uninstalling Microsoft ACPI Compliant Control Method Battery" and the "Microsoft Battery Adapter" after removing my battery and plugged in on mains. No change observed. Tried running HP Support Assistant (ver 184.108.40.206, Configuration file 7.0.3386.1538), but it crashed on battery check. Now I have purchased a new HP MU06 battery. But still the same message of "No battery detected" is seen. What should I do now?Thanking youBimal Kumar

Hi, For the last couple weeks my laptop will just shut down when it is not plugged in - without any warning. The battery shows plenty of power. I am only usually able to get 20-30 minutes without it plugged in before it does this. The battery is not warm when it shuts down so it is not overheating. It works fine when it is plugged in. Any ideas how to fix this? Thanks.http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Operating-System-and-Recovery/HP-Pavilion-keeps-shutting-down-on-battery/td-p/5718732

I Have had my HP for just over 6 months and all of a sudden i noticed that the battery wasn't charging. It is plugged in and when i hover over the battery it says 'plugged in, charging' but it isn't charging at all. If i turn it off and leave it for a while it will charge to about 8% and then it just stops. i really need my tablet and would really appreciate any help, I am aware that it is under warranty however if there is a possibilty it could be sorted without sending it away then i would really apprecated that. I have a Pavilion DV7 that won't powr up. Everything else is fine including the power light on the laptop from mains power.
I think it may be a battery broblem. Yes?
If it does not power with the battery removed and AC plugged in then it is either the AC adapter not putting out enough current, the AC power jack module or something worse like the motherboard.http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Hardware-and-Upgrade-Questions/pavilion-dv7-won-t-power-up-with-without-battery-or-ac-cord/td-p/5623314

Tried to power up with a.c. cord or battery. Leads flash once attempts to start, then goes out.
The first thing you should do is to test the power adapter. If the adapter has failed it won't allow the notebook to power on or charge the battery. Please post your results here.http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Hardware-and-Upgrade-Questions/pavilion-dv7-3079wm-won-t-power-up-with-without-battery-or/td-p/1757409
We have found that our battery is not charging. We now need to have the laptop constantly plugged in to make it have power. Sometimes when we turn the computer on, as it doesnt hold enough power now to go to sleep mode that it has an error message displaying about the battery and needing to do something about it but it always moves to the next screen too quickly for me to understand what the issue is and what to do about it. Can you please point me in the right direction on how we can resolve this issue as it is annoying. The minute the power chord comes out of the computer, the power is lost. Hello. I recently bought Pavilion x360 11, and on pretty much every review site etc. there was written that the full charge should last for approx. 6 hs of browsing internet. I tested it twice just browsing internet, and not even that much because at the same time i was playing on my PC. Both tests ended up in laptop hibernating after 4-4.5hs. I must say that is rather low battery lifetime, specially for me as I bought it for outside use mostly. Can it be defective battery or maybe upgrade to win 10 would work it out for me ? (asking about win 10 because I've read couple general opinions about how it extended their battery lifetime from i.e. 6.5h to 9h ) Any help would be very appreciated, as I have to make a decision if i want to replace the laptop at store or not. Thanks in advance.http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Hardware-and-Upgrade-Questions/pavilion-x360-low-battery-life/td-p/5833199

Hi all, Laptop is shutting down when battery is half full (without even warning me). Also the battery never fully charges.I guess it's the time to change it. Any suggestions where I can buy this in Canada?http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Hardware-and-Upgrade-Questions/Replacement-battery-for-Pavilion-DM4-2153ca/td-p/5671778
I purchased my laptop in February 2014 and had to return it for service in March 2014. My battery life is almost non-existent at this point, no more than 30 minutes then it shuts down without any notice. I realize the life of electronics is not to be forever, but I would think a battery should last more than 30 minutes. It makes me concerned about HP products and question purchasing another one in the future. I am hoping there is some "fix" to this battery problem.http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Hardware-and-Upgrade-Questions/HP-Pavilion-17-e040us-Battery-Life/td-p/5821555

Hi nbsp My original question would have been should I remove the battery when work I on AC in battery: not? Pavilion 15-ba015na: or remove order in order to conserve battery life Browsing this forum I saw a recent reply to a similar question The Pavilion 15-ba015na: battery: remove or not? question was is it safe to remove the battery when working AC - and the reply was yes however repeated removal and reinsertion Pavilion 15-ba015na: battery: remove or not? may reduce battery life nbsp I am at a loss I thought the whole point of removing the battery when working on AC WAS to conserve battery life This is important for me as I will need my long-life battery to stay long-life My old laptop goes back to the time before long-life batteries It never lasted more than about - minutes and with age about years this is down to virtually a couple of minutes Mind you I v enver bothered to take out the battery when on AC nbsp Pavilion 15-ba015na: battery: remove or not? So what is your advice Remove or not nbsp nbsp A corollary question Going through the settings I discovered somewhere that it is possible to extend battery life if I change the setting It would result in a bit slower operation but longer battery time nbsp Any idea how much slower and hoe much longer Mind you I'm nort sure I'll ever find the place where I could reset that feature TIA as always nbsp nbsphttp://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Hardware-and-Upgrade-Questions/Pavilion-15-ba015na-battery-remove-or-not/td-p/5708657
I need to purchase a replacement battery for a Pavilion Notebook 15-AB269SA. The code of my faulty battery is 800049-001 but can't find it in the online store. I bought this laptop, new, yesterday. It charged all night. The specs say it has a battery life of 11.75 hours. That is the sole reason I decided to go with this laptop over one with better RAM. I just turned it on 30 minutes ago and it is 100% charged yet it only has a battery life of 5hr, 26 min. After 30 minutes of light use, it is 85% charged with 4hr, 3min left. Is there anything I can do to fix this issue short of returning the computer?http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Hardware-and-Upgrade-Questions/Battery-issue-with-a-new-HP-Pavilion-x360/td-p/5804411
My dead laptop battery says this - "PI06 Notebook Battery, REPLACE WITH HP SPARE 710416-001." It also has 10.8V 47Wh written over it. Now, I've found a new battery for my laptop. Here's the link:
But the power rating thing is different on this battery. This new battery has 11.1V 62Wh power rating. Will this more V and Wh value harm my laptop? Will this battery work fine on my laptop?
Yes, it is suitable, the voltage is slightly higher but in the range : no problem.
The power (Watt) : the battery can supply higher current but there is an electronic control that handles the electrical parameters.
This means that it could handle a heavier load when necessary.
It's oversized but is good.
Am trying to find the physical location of the cmos battery in my zt1130 notebook. It hasn't been changed since I bought the computer back in 2001. If I have to unsolder it, no problem.
The service manual doesn't say anything.
Closest thing I can find that looks like one is on the back side
of the motherboard and I'm not sure of that.
Those links won't work directly.
Here is the ebay listing.....
If you are not having problems with it,you probably don't need to mess with it.
If it hasn't been plugged in for a long time, you may just
need to let the system charge overnight.
I have had this computer for about a year, it was in sleep mode for a few hours and then when I went to use it that battery seemed to be dead. I plugged it up then I got an error 601 screen where it said the internal battery could be messed up. So I have been trying to do a battery check the F2 version and even on the hp support assistant. The HP support assistant version always stops working and the F2 version never finished and took over an hour. I just want to know if the internal battery needs to be changed or not. I can't unplug the computer without it dying.
Hi there @gnbistritz?, Thank you for visiting the HP Support Forums and Welcome! This is a great site to get answers and ask questions. I read your post on the HP Support Forums. After reading your post, I understand that the battery on your HP Pavilion 13-a010dx x360 Convertible PC dies if it is not plugged in. You had also mentioned that you received a 601 Battery Error. I did some research and found some documents for you based on the issue you had described. HP Battery Alert Appears Before Windows Starts - "If Primary (internal) Battery (601) appears in the alert message, it means the measured storage capacity of the primary (internal) battery is less than 25% of the original storage capacity. The number ?601? denotes the associated error code that is recorded in the system log."Battery Does Not Power Notebook or Hold a Charge - "If your notebook computer battery does not power the notebook or will not hold a charge, troubleshoot the battery to see if it needs to be replaced."Testing and Calibrating the Battery (Windows 10) - "To know the condition of your battery, use the steps in this article to test your battery and calibrate it if necessary."Please follow these provided troubleshooting steps, re-post and let me know the results. I have had the exact same problem since I went to shut down 2 days ago and it said it needed to update first. So i chose update and shut down from the menu and in the morning the power light was still on but the computer didn't wake up so i powered down from the button and since then i cannot unplug the battery bc it immediately shuts down, i get the 601 battery error code on start up and the battery test from hp assistant doesn't finish (i get an error message and it ends). I followed each of the 3 links above and have had no luck bc when I run the battery check with the F2 command on start-up it just freezes (says press any key to cancel, I do and nothing happens) and never completes. Any help would be greatly appreciated! I've only have the computer for a year and a half!
Hi @Kayleecan, Thank you for visiting the HP Forums! I see on your HP Pavilion 13-a010dx x360 Convertible and the error Primary (internal) Battery (601) appearing. Try removing the CMOS or RTC battery and replacing it, it could be low and causing the Real Time Clock (RTC)to be incorrect which would cause the Internal battery error or not starting correctly. Here is a document to show you how to replace this. Please let me know. If you wish to say Thanks for my efforts to help, click the Thumbs up to give me a Kudos. Hi @Lewistrick Thank you for your query. I grasp that until a few days ago your battery was working well but now it will not charge. You followed some suggestion in the forum but they did not help. You ran the battery test and were informed you need to replace this one. You are concerned that the test may be faulty and that you do not need to replace it. Here are two documents to help you understand battery life and provides an alternative method to test the battery to ensure the first test was correct. I've had this laptop for under 3 years, and in the last 6 months the battery has gone from charging to 100% to very quickly 0%. The AC adaptor still works fine, so now my laptop is basically a desktop. If the unit is unplugged for even a moment it shuts down. I am well beyond the 1 year warranty period that HP places on their batteries (shocking that anyone would think 1 year an appropriate length of time for a laptop battery to last). I was expecting the battery to last longer, my previous laptop's battery is still working after 8+ years. While I probably use the laptop a little more than the average user, I have read a number of posts with "laptop battery dead" in the subject but I can't find anything to let me know the life-cycle, and if my expectations are unrealistic.
Hi, There are many types of batteries. Please read the following article, specially part from Safebattery.com http://www.idganswers.com/question/7814/how-many-charging-cycles-should-a-laptop-battery-last Hope this helps.http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Hardware-and-Upgrade-Questions/Laptop-battery-life-for-HP-Pavilion-15/td-p/5532875
I have a HP Pavilion X2 Product Number F5W70UA#ABA. I have been having trouble since I bought this just a few short months ago. The battery drains within an hour or 2 whenever I put the machine to sleep (close the lid, put in sleep mode, etc.). I have updated the BIOS and all the latest drivers. It helped ensure I could wake up the machine, but the battery keeps draining and I am at my wits end. I have also gone through many forum postings on this issue and have run the HP Battery Test as well as checked all the power management settings and they appear to be set up properly. Any help would be greatly appreciated. - Jim
Hi DontLoveWindows, From the information that you have given me, it is showing that you have 2 anti-virus softwares installed. Avast and Norton, that are continuously running when the printer is in sleep mode, which would be draining your power. It also shows that your printer has missing or misconfigured drivers which could be using power as well. Here is an HP Photosmart Full Feature Software and Drivers download for your printer. I suggest that you Disable your startup software. To do this: Right click or touch and hold the bottom left corner of the screen and select Run.Type msconfig in the Run box, and then press Enter. The MSconfig window opens. If the User Account Control window opens with the message, Windows needs your permission to continue, click or tap Continue to close the window. If Normal Startup is currently selected, follow these steps:Select Selective Startup, and then clear the Load Startup Items check box.Click or tap the Services tab, and then select the Hide All Microsoft Services check box at the bottom of the screen.Click or tap Disable All.If Selective Startup is currently selected, follow these steps:Click or tap the Services tab, and then select the Hide All Microsoft Services check box at the bottom of the screen.Make a list of the items that are selected. You will need this list to reset your computer startup items later.Click or tap Disable All.Click or tap Apply.Click or tap OK. A new window displays.Click or tap Restart to continue. Once it restarts put it into sleep mode and test to see if this has resolved the issue. If it has then you need to enable one startup item at a time until you find which one is causing the issue. Once you have discovered what is causing the issue, then you can address it. If you need further assistance, then post what the results are and I will be happy to continue helping you. Hi, I have observed that the laptop does not shut down completely even after shutting it down. I see a flickering light besides the charging port. The power off and power on is happening normally, but after power off, I can see the battery being drained as well as flickering lights. I checked all the power options / actions and they are appropriately set. What else can cause this? How do I ensure that the laptop is shut down completely.http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Hardware-and-Upgrade-Questions/HP-Pavilion-P210TX-Battery-is-draining-even-after-the-laptop/td-p/5656208
This laptop is about four and a half years old and recently the battery has started acting up. The battery discharges from a full charge in about 15-20 minutes.
Another problem I had with the battery was a 601 error at bootup - I got this error in the BIOS screen and it states that the battery has fallen below its optimal charge capacity.
I managed to "fix" this problem with a BIOS update. I then ran the powercfg utility and it shows that the battery is charging fully,
Battery ID 14089 2010/12/01Hewlett-PackardPrimary
Serial Number 14089 2010/12/01
Long Term 1
Design Capacity 11502
Last Full Charge 11502
So can anyone tell me why the battery is discharging so quickly? Am running Windows 7 Home Premium in Power Saver mode and nothing is running in the background, and the only apps are a couple of browser windows.
Thank you in advance.
My laptop suddenly stopped seeing its battery. It can't see the battery inserted into the slot anymore (when I run Battery Check it requires inserting battery into the slot). If you close mouse pointer to battery sign on the Toolbar, it says 'Plugged in and not charging', when you double-click on the battery sign, it says '100% fully charged'. Laptop is working fine via AC cord, but if you unplug the cord, it stops receiving power and shuts down. Very strange situation taking into account that the battery is resonably new, very hardly used. It has been working fine up until recently. Please help. Many thanks in advance. P.S. Laptop was bought in EU, so adapter is for Europe electricity standards. Problem occured when I moved to the USA and started using my laptom in here. Could the problem with battery happen because of this?http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Hardware-and-Upgrade-Questions/My-HP-Pavilion-dv6-6c51ea-Notebook-s-battery-is-not/td-p/5708389

My pavilion G6-2212sa will not turn on, I needed to buy a new battery last year with the laptop only being just over 3 years old! Over the last few days the laptop will not charge or turn on, with the battery in or out! I have tried to reset the laptop, by removing the battery and holding down the power battery but no joy! With the battery in the led next to the plug alternates between white and amber, and with the battery out and the power lead in it stays white but flashes when you try to power it on! Please help!?!?!http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Boot-and-Lockup/Pavilion-G6-2212sa-won-t-power-up-with-battery-or-on-mains/td-p/5656563

Upon startup I receive an error message: Primary internal battery level very low. My laptop will not operate unless the power cord is always plugged in. The power cord also slips out very easily. Please assist me on how to rectify this issue.
@Kimtastic26? Please remove the main battery. Then boot and see if the error goes away. Sounds like you need to replace your main battery. REOhttp://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Hardware-and-Upgrade-Questions/HP-Pavilion-Laptop-dv6-6b47dx-battery-issue/td-p/5805363
Good day! I would like to ask if somebody here knows the compatible battery for HP Pavilion Gaming Notebook. My battery only runs less than 4 hours now. I want to upgrade the battery to a bigger capacity battery. Also, does anybody here know if there is a compatible dock for the geming notebook? I am always plugging my laptop when playing games. And as far as I know, plugging the laptop consistently for a long time will damage the battery. Thank you!Jhttp://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Hardware-and-Upgrade-Questions/Battery-for-HP-Pavilion-Gaming-Notebook-15-ak000nx/td-p/5750313

Hi fedecolom, Welcome to the HP Support Forums, I hope you enjoy your experience! To help you get the most out of the HP Forums I would like to direct your attention to the HP Forums Guide First Time Here? Learn How to Post and More. I saw your post regarding the problems with the limited connectivity when you are using the battery. That is very odd issue and you have been incredibly thorough in your troubleshooting. At this point I really have nothing to add to what you have done. I would recommend that you contact HP. A couple months ago, my laptop stopped giving me a low battery warning. It would just die when the battery was too low. This wasn't a big deal a couple months ago because I was on summer vacation, but now that school is in session, I will lose my notes and homework without much chance to revive. I have tried adjusting the warning levels in the advanced power settings, but that did nothing. I tried talking to a Windows representative via chat, but he brought up 2 payment plans so they could fix it. I believe there is a way that doesn't require payment for some guy to remotely fix my laptop.
Could well be the battery. Mine shuts down when the battery gets to 75% due to a faulty battery. I dual boot OSX and Windows and it happens on both so it is certainly not a software issue.
You under warranty?
Today I purchased a brand-new HP Pavilion -N TX notebook When I got home I unboxed it inserted the battery plugged it into the wall and Issues Battery 15-N214TX Pavilion Notebook HP powered it on for the very first time I then saw this message HP Battery Alert The system has detected the storage capacity of the battery stated below to be very low For optimal performance this battery may need to be replaced Primary internal Battery ENTER - Continue Startup For more information please visit www hp HP Pavilion 15-N214TX Notebook Battery Issues com go techcenter startup Windows reports Plugged in and not charging I've removed and re-inserted the battery gone into the HP Support Assistant application and ran a battery check only for it to report that it can't find a battery and I've ran the pre-boot diagnostics which also reports that there's no battery inserted I saw somewhere that you should remove AC power before running the tests When I pressed the power button while the laptop wasn't plugged into AC the charging light simply blinked white three times I could at one point get into the pre-boot diagnostics on battery power but I still saw the message telling me that no battery was found This is a great laptop it's super fast software installs quickly programs open quickly it shuts down and boots quickly but this battery issue is a huge letdown I don't expect this kind of an issue from a brand-new laptop Please help -techhead
Perhaps, the manufactures has shipped you faulty battery. Consider placing an RMA order as it's still in warranty.http://www.sevenforums.com/hardware-devices/338311-hp-pavilion-15-n214tx-notebook-battery-issues.html
Hey I ve had a HP Pavilion for years now Its got like MB of Ram a Ghz Intel Pentium Processor and a Radeon series graphics card not sure if its intergrated or not All I know is it s Anyways I cant get the complete specs from the directx diagnostic thing because Pavilion-Display errors-Dead HP Battery? of the following problem For the last years everytime I leave it without power for over a week itll freeze on OS loadup or programs will act all funny if I do get XP HP Pavilion-Display errors-Dead Battery? to load Its usually the time which is at like AD or AD or something ridiculous One time it was at like the th of decemeber or something A friend told me its a dead battery or something I wish I d gotten it fixed all that time ago so I wouldnt have the current problem which is as follows Usually changing the date back to normal fixed the aforementioned problems But this one is in a world of its own We left it without power for weeks and it refused to turn on The LED light would just be on and we couldnt get it to do anything We left it for another weeks thinking it was a gonner Then I fiddled with the power cable while turning it on It burst back to life like someone waking out of a coma The Loading LEd started flashing The power light beside the chord at the back switched on I then pulled the power cable out again and firmly secured it back in The computer turned on and went through its loading sequence but froze Eventually with enough times of pulling the cable out and putting it back in the computer had its sound back It would turn on and off perfectly I could even hear it clicking desktop icons as I moved the mouse But one last problem that messing with the power chord didnt solve There is nothing displayed on the monitor O I could do without the sound but without visuals its worthless So what do I do Have any of you ever heard of a PC acting like this before I sure havent although I dont know much about PCs What I do know is the monitor is perfect its just not receiving anything from the PC tower Anyone know how to solve this I really like the HP and Im now reduced to using a Gateway Windows which would make anyone cry nbsp
Yep. I think you should replace Power Supply. Probably it is too old to continue. Best bet is go out and buy 300W for your HP. I'm not entire sure if it still covered warranty but it is best bet to take your HP back to staples or future shop to have it fixed for a price.
Try swapping PSU and find out. if it didnt work, try add video card in PCI. and yes, ATI 9000 Series is integrated.
Power cord plugged in to notebook. Charging light is amber. Battery is at 87% plugged in and charging. The mamium charge for the last couple of month is about 86% to 87%
Hi MillerDo a hard reset.http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c01684768Then uninstall battery driver from device manager after physically removing battery and powering on notebook with AC power alone. -->In Device Manager, expand the Batteries section by clicking the little icon to the left of the word Batteries. Right-click Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery and select Uninstall. Verify that that's what you want to do. Do not uninstall any other drivers. Then power on system with battery inserted, go to BIOS setup --> reload BIOS to default. Save and continue to loading Windows.http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c00034791See if has resolved. If not, do a manual calibration of battery. I have bought HP Pavilion x360 - 13-s102tu_Laptop (HP Part Code: T0Y58PA) with a view that its battery will run at least for 09.00 hrs but I am getting only 4-4.30 hrs back up. Its normal or laptop having the problem? Any suggestion...
4.5 hours is actually very good. The 9 hours is based on some conditions not likely to be duplicated in the the real world. The best thing you can do to make the battery last longer (runtime) is to turn down the screen brightness and turn off bluetooth and wifi if you are not using them. http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c01297640http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Video-Display-and-Touch/Battery-life-of-HP-Pavilion-x360-13-s102tu-Laptop/td-p/5622574
I installed a new battery today and the guy in the store said it wouldn't be fully charged. My computer booted up fine but they I got a warning that the battery was at 14%. I had the power cord plugged in so it should started charging but it didin't. I got my neighbors computer, similar model and I put my battery in his and it started charging so then I plugged in my power cord and it is still charging. So I know my battery is good and my power cable is good because they both work on his computer so there is something wrong with the connection where I plug it in or somewhere else in the computer. When you plug the power cord in the LED should light up but there is no light. Any ideas of anything I can check or do I have to take it in for repair?http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Hardware-and-Upgrade-Questions/Pavilion-g7-2292nr-will-not-charge-with-a-good-battery-and/td-p/5732578
Hello, I have recently ugraded to windows 10, everything (or I should say almost everything) works fine, except for the dreaded red x on my sound icon that says "No audio output device installed" when I hover the mouse over it, so I have no sound. And the other thing is my battery doesn't seem to be charging (the battery is new) it simply says "plugged in and charging" but it clearly is not because if I unplug the power cord, the computer goes off. I have looked around the internet for about a week now spending countless hours reading different forums from different websites, including this one, but I can't find any fixes that work. PLEASE HELP! HP Pavilion dv6608caWindows 10 64bitProduct number: DY130UA#ABC Thank you in advance!
right click on battery then pick power options, on the left side of the window that appears it should say choose when to turn off the display. check what that says. as for the audio, the driver may not be compatible with windows 10http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Audio/No-sound-and-battery-not-charging-HP-Pavilion-dv6608ca/td-p/5601005
My HP Pavilion dv7-3028ca laptop needs a new battery. The current battery won't hold a charge, so the machine cannot operate. I had the problem diagnosed by the Geek Squad service at Best Buy. I went to the HP parts website to search and order the replacement but the website generated a message that the replacement battery was no longer available. Help!!! I need to get the laptop up and running again. Do you know where I can order a replacement battery online (e.g a website with the battery in stock)? If the battery has been discontinued, is there a compatible battery on the hp parts website that I can use as a replacement? Thanks for any help or advice you can provide!! Peter

I have a HP Pavilion Notebook PC Product Number F C PA ABG and since I have upgraded to Windows current version last year I have had nothing but trouble with it nbsp First when I use the shutdown option in the power menu the notebook will not turn off the screen goes black but the fans continue to run and the Wireless Antenna light goes orange but does 15 battery fails HP to drains Notebook wh... Dear community, I've spent hours online already trying to locate the right replacement battery to buy for my computer, and/or and HP chat agent who could point to it for me. I bought my laptop in 2013 and it is not in warranty any longer. The model is HP Pavilion 15-b116sa Sleekbook. Is this battery not sold any longer?or am I perhaps doing something wrong? If it was no longer sold, how would you recommend that I solve the HP 601 Battery Alert message that appears in startup?I've done all the recommended checks; it all looks like what I need is a new battery. Thanks very much!
I understand, that depends on the reputation of the seller, finally if it is the only way to get the battery try to confirm with the seller, ie if the 2 year warranty are really effective. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Genuine-Battery-For-HP-Pavilion-Sleekbook-14-1000-14-2099-695192-001-F0D39AA-/251532876094http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Hardware-and-Upgrade-Questions/Unable-to-locate-battery-to-buy-online-HP-Pavilion-15-b116sa/td-p/5744845
HP Pavilion laptop won't start. Charger plugged in, charging light turns white like supposed to but then immediately changes to a constant orange light. No blinking lights anywhere. I tried a hard reset by removing adapter, removing battery, holding power button for 30 seconds, putting battery back in, and then putting adapter back in. Same reoccurrence turning white to an immediate constant orange. I did notice however, when I left the adapter in and removed the battery pack the light was constant white like it usually is when my laptop works, but would not turn on. Is this a simple, "I need to buy a new battery" situation? I don't want to spend the money if it's something larger than that. Any help?http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Operating-System-and-Recovery/HP-Pavilion-won-t-start-battery-light-constant-orange/td-p/5818179
I have an HP Pavilion 15 Notebook PC, and the battery seemed to be working fine at first, but then it suddenly stopped charging and even when plugged in, it wouldn't charge. Now, its at 0% and removing the charger would obviously force it to shut down, thus forcing me to use it plugged in all the time now. I tried to use my HP Support Assistant to test the HP Battery Check and see the condition of my battery, but the results were a simple big Unknown. I have gotten the warning that my battery has low capacity, and I am not sure on what I should do. My laptop and battery isn't even that old yet. Please help me on this.http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Operating-System-and-Recovery/HP-Pavilion-15-Notebook-PC-HP-Battery-Check-results-Unknown/td-p/5631293

Hello, For 2-3 weeks my laptop has been turning off with 30-50% battery left. As soon as it is plugged in, I have no problems. While attempting to turn the computer back on (before I plug it in) the computer usually shuts down before I get to the login screen. On a few occasions, however, I have succesfully logged in and started my web browser before it shuts down again. Every time that my computer dips into this margin, it kills all proccesses (unexpected shutdown). I have tried different power options, but they just delay how long the battery stays above 30-50%. I do not know of any other details. Thanks for readingIsenfireLDChttp://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Boot-and-Lockup/HP-Pavilion-Notebook-turns-off-with-half-battery-left/td-p/5831817

Hi, I have a new Windows 8, HP Pavilion 15 Notebook. I just updated my HP Support assistant recently and now cannot do the Battery Check. It says Battery - Unknown Status (93) ??! What is that and why can't it access my battery ? I have removed and re-inserted my battery but that made no difference. Also the battery is working and there is no issue with it that I have noticed but why cant I run the test ? I have the latest version of support assistant - 220.127.116.11 installed. How can I fix this issue with the battery check ? Thanks in AdvanceRegards
Hi crusader8, I saw your post regarding the problems are you having running the Battery Test in HP Support Assistant. I would start by uninstalling and reinstalling the HP Support Assistant. You can also use your HP Diagnostic Tools to check the battery. Under Component Test there is a Battery Test. Try that battery test to see if it is seeing it correctly. Thank you,http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Hardware-and-Upgrade-Questions/HP-Pavilion-15-Notebook-Win8-Battery-check-Unknown-93-status/td-p/3690410
Hi,So my battery died whilst on Standby overnight, so next morning I plugged it in and resumed to find an erro message saying Recyling Bin corrupted, tried clicking some ok boxes etc but nothing was happening, tried opening menus and other apps, nothing. It seemed locked up. I Cntrl Alt Deleted and got it to shut down. When I started back up it's running ultra slow now and I can't open folders off the desktop - Any ideas? Currently runnin Windows update which is taking forever trying to detect any issues - this is a brand new product too - 2 weeks old and not used it. Should I reformat and start again?
